It’s surely not a coincidence that the nation which serves as the hub of a globe-spanning empire that’s held together by mass murder and war propaganda and mass-scale psychological manipulation is the only nation with a mass shooting epidemic. But this will never be studied.

That seems to be the case, but only when we assume innocent agency. Many previous empires were, and are, pacific at home and violent abroad. Many empires are more of less pacific altogether, Russia, China, India…at least by nature and disposition. Some are both.
“Epidemic” characterization may well accord with the rhetorical narrative we are served with, but is this true? Is “curated operation” possibly a better characterization? Epidemics have agency…connection between victims. They have causation. And I wonder, is the nazi empire held together by violence, or torn apart…and if it is a nation, how, then, can it be an empire? My own view is that the fairly feeble “nation” was destroyed when the republic ended and the empire began. The emigration law changes under Johnson may be a signal feature in this process, and one may trace this back to 1812 and even earlier. I suppose we might say that that the Republic died with the bomb, but it was gradual.
The stated agenda of the present regime running the nazi operation is to disarm the people, and repeal the second amendment…the SCOTUS is about to decide a number of Second Amendment cases – and the word is their decisions are not in accord with the ruling regime.

Valentine and others claim reasonably and with evidence, that essentially every police department has a resident spook…and why did cops wait at the Texas affair? How did such a kid find 5 grand for a couple of sexy rifles? Man, you know there’s a spook in this story…
There have also been “mass shooting epidemics” in recent times outside the US, and using the emotional argument long established customs of people keeping arms – in Canada and NZ and other national states – were ended, Constitutional Traditions with centuries of practice…poof! After “epidemics”.

Many could be considered Sea Peoples. It is a nebulous term really. Any living on islands or the rims of continents, making their living on the seas. The specific way it is used now by historians since Halford Mackinder, one of the top geostrategists of the Anglo-Saxons, refers to his people and more broadly all Anglo-domain countries, whether in UK, CONUS or southern Pacific, and some of their satrapies of the strategic rings of island bases. The current planners and drivers of AZE also continue to follow the models of Mackinder & Mahan as seen in AUKUS, fomenting coups in the Heartland, etc.. Mackinder’s realist POV was interesting compared to Morgenthau’s, who was discussed in last Cafe. Regardless, all realists appear to have been shredded by the now dominant crazies in the basement. Consider Kissinger being put on that UkroNazi assassination-website after his appearance at Davos!

Orwell also referred to the Anglo domains as Oceania. So it refers to a specific civilization based on sea-trade, constant competition and conscious strife with continentals or Land Peoples, dominant naval warfare, and formerly open piracy.
Sea Peoples is a bit hyperbolic, and doesn’t fully hold as with all generalizations, but it is nevertheless an easy handle which largely fits. Ours is at essence a tribal world. I really enjoyed the last work posted by Batiushka (“civilisation and anti-civilisation”). As Anglos have reaped the whirlwind of Imperial overstretch, they have circled bandwagons (AUKUS) and largely shed continental Europe (driving NATO & Ukies to their suicide). Puzzler, you raise a point disturbing me for some time and which I’ve yet to research. And it bears on our discussion of the eternal struggle between the Sea and Land! Isn’t the throne of the Satan said to be on the High Sea? Does the Land then represent all us humans? And why the Prince of this realm insists Admiralty Law supercedes all Land Law?
Specifically bothering me is the language behind it all, which appears magical. Even with language, the Sea Peoples engage in total war. Some occultists said modern English language itself has been developed as a type of snake or witch tongue, consciously molded during Bacon and Shakespeare’s time with countless innuendoes, alternate meanings and homonyms, etc. It is illogical and doesn’t flow easily unlike most other human languages, especially the neighboring Romance languages. It does appear highly contrived. A language designed by and for deceivers, spies and spell casters. Terrible if so.

That video, “1177 BC: The Year Civilization Collapsed (Eric Cline, PhD)” is quite sobering. Professor Cline dances nimbly around the real Sea Peoples, original AND current, but the meat of the presentation is quite instructive and worthwhile. Most of the dominant civilizations of that Late Bronze Age (LBA) era collapsed near simultaneously due to a perfect storm. The slate was being wiped clean.
Concurrent civilizations are in a sort of entwined state, and the more the globalization, the more fragile and interdependent they become. Ideas, morals, entertainment and food, war craft and alliances, trade and supply routes, elite tastes and considerations – all circulate. So the fate of that period is quite relevant for us today, a similar period of globalization and dissolution.

It highlights three wheels which kept that era humming – Trade, Diplomacy and Reciprocity. As Sea Peoples interfered (for whatever reason – if we assume his hypothesis, then they were themselves fleeing drought & famine) they may have been final straw collapsing all these networks essential to their cohesion, on top of famine, drought, internal rebellion, natural catastrophes such as earthquakes, etc. Merchants, the great lubricant of all eras, bringing new ideas and inventions and helping maintaining peaceful relations, through all the shared civilizational realms, were cut off and those links withered. Cline notes in his lecture that this period corresponded to the Exodus, which we are taught saw a young insecure Israelite nation trekking to settle among the Holy Land’s “giants and fierce tribes.” Was a suitable environment being shaped for the inheritors?
Yet what a catastrophe. Is Petroleum Man threatened with similar now? It doesn’t need to go nuclear. So as Alabama would say, even if we escape nuclear Armageddon, every which way collapse may be baked in. I am glad you dug the Cline bit. The surviving documentation as to the identity of those Sea Peoples includes, I believe, representations that indicate that some, many, were blond or red-haired. FWIW my own observation has been that there is a strong correlation between red hair and a readiness to violence, particularly in men…and less so in blonds, though of course, most men are fairly ready to violence. Anyway the people looked weird in the eyes of the collapsing civilizations. Here is the thought/question…
Guerilla warfare has shown in the past that it can be quite effective. If I’m the weaker opponent in a conflict, it could work to my advantage to open new areas of conflict. This would have the potential to thin my opponents forces and provide opportunities for me in at least a couple of ways.
For instance, if Syria, Iran, Israel troubles escalated, this would (and has) drawn more attention and resources from Russia to this theatre And if I can use my buddy Israel to do the “boots on the ground” and direct fighting for me, I can sit back and focus my efforts elsewhere.
Same could be said for Taiwan and the Solomon Islands – China could be engaged with Taiwan and with Australia while the US sits back and looks for guerrilla type opportunities.
Poland may be one of the proxy forces drawn into the Ukraine conflict – this has been discussed by a number of commentators – suicidal for Poland and yet they may do this anyway.
The more “hot spots” the US can create dragging in multiple countries while it sits back feeling secure in its underground bunker, the greater success the US may perceive it is having.
In time, this strategy could backfire dramatically as those who are “played” will eventually figure it out. When that happens (the enemy of my enemy is my friend), all scopes and munitions may turn in one direction.
Sure wish I had a seagoing sailboat; the time to exit the land feeding the “belly of the beast” may not be far off.
I used to sail sea-going boat. It’s a big ocean…with many hazards, pirates wearing badges, and pirates wearing ragged shorts…all with guns you are not permitted to have, and in numbers you can’t match…but yes indeed, it is a way. I suppose the intrepid mariner might make it from Seattle to Vladivostok, but the Ruski Coast Guard might not be particularly happy to see you. As the Lord creates within each of us kernels of Truth (so that we may know right from wrong), so we can sense evil approaching – like a malignantly uncompromising enemy, the wizard pulling strings behind the scenes, who wants to cancel us altogether. The general idea is that major events reflect energy in time, and that this is measurable. He assumes that individuals exist on a continuum that is specific to events…and thus the protagonist can predict accurately the death of an individual… Well, there’s spooky action at a distance…who am I to argue…maybe the echos are from the future…I think so anyway.

You get the idea…writ large, over a few decades of the Mighty Wurlitzer’s soft caress, the academy becomes sundered in twain – and at odds with itself… Which is, I think, to say that the foundations crumble.
In a less formal arena, the practical skills of manufacture, the forge and hearth and the building of bridges and roads and making of alloy – there too the lies meet reality – and Presto! – create internal contradictions and nonsensical beliefs. Here we may recall the insane beliefs in some that EU can manage with wind and solar and drips and puffs of expensive HC.
The “Wurlitzer”? Was not the creation of this cunning and diabolical device the first manifestation of a cancer that devours its own origin?
Kennan presciently wrote that USSR and Soviet Communism held similar internal contradictions…and Szilard wrote that USSR and the US are mutually dependent establishments. When one collapsed, the twin became doomed. Like the academy, I suppose.
The young lady? She starts a new job today – at (gasp!) the university! Pretty girl, red hair, and happy. I expect she’ll discover an ethical contradiction, as her new job is essentially to propagandize the innocent student…tictictic…and the academy is crumbling, irretrievably…fundamenta academiae non possunt esse mendacia. (I think I got that right)

It is most unpleasant to contemplate collapse. Being a hopeless romantic, I avoided it passionately like dystopias, horror, even sci fi novels. Avoided all theorists and doomsayers, especially Orlov and similar realists, even as I walked home decades ago in hollowed out rust belt parts of Beantown with pot-holes that could drown dogs after the rain. But we can run away, we cannot hide from it now. It is on all our plates. Regardless of the reasons and the curious demented fanning the flames, the grinning Jokers in charge of AZE inner provinces, like the helmsman Charon on the River Styx.
We reap the fruits of diligent Technocrats such as Bernays and Casey. Society undergoing enforced change, internal and external, loses its mind and way. It also loses perspective of what formerly allowed it to practically function, losing necessary skills in shocking rapidity. Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart is an excellent African parable of the fall of pride and societal dissolution. I met his contemporary Wole Soyinka by accident in Stockholm airport right after he won the Nobel Prize. He shared a breakfast with us, pleased to see fellow Africans after such a long journey. Alas I lost the book he signed, and was too young then to appreciate lessons.
Hal listed yesterday all the US pyromaniacs attacking key regional food supply hubs. The fierce struggle between the EU and V Orban over the suiciding of Hungary is mesmerizing; we did recently discuss the singular fate of Patrice Lumumba and the historical reach of vindictive Brussels. What will die first, the imploding EU or Hungary’s future? I hope Hungary has reserves, the Magyar can be a determined cohesive and resourceful foe, and they will need it. The AZE can keep its vassal going in bitter fights through the extraordinary last mile (we have waited for the UkroNazis to die for how many years?). All is a distraction though. As the Russians made their decisions and will see events through, so did the opposing side, who will not countenance reality. And the young Alex cannot comprehend on his walks. Find a raft, a barge, a forgotten niche of the world, a time capsule!
I hope the young academic meets a determined White Russian or focused realist who will soon head to Russia. The future in the northern hemisphere lies in Mother Russia.

One of best scenes ever, albeit in a forgettable propaganda movie. Commissar Bob Hoskins, aka Nikita Khrushchev, saving red tape and motivating the troops, on behalf of the Boss. The stellar line up of grimy sweaty meaty men whose faces and generous bellies could serve as backup T34 tanks, the squaring of chins and shoulders and sucking in of guts and tightening of ranks after the shot goes off, “Staalinngrraad!”, the expressiveness of the mobile eyes of the last desperate man, the shoving of him aside. Classic Hollywood indulgence and cliches of the orcs of Mordor.. yet still conveys something of the agony of survival in Stalingrad and the inimitable Bob Hoskins

The sacred duty to resist such theft may be indeed helped and done with picturing devices. While they want you to spend several megapix of RAM or card memory on each pic, so that you have to stop soon for lack of spece to save to, two (2) MP are enough per single text screen pic, so that what you have and use will last much longer.
