The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) is being choked into submission if not starvation by the UN Security Council, by a vote of 15 : 0; i.e. unanimously. None of the 15 UNSC states, let alone the five permanent members, have had the guts to say no to a murderous Resolution, drafted and proposed by the United States of America, a name that increasingly stands for international rogue and crime nation.
The New York Times reports on 22 December 2017 – “President Trump has used just about every lever you can use, short of starving the people of North Korea to death, to change their behavior,” the White House homeland security adviser, Thomas P. Bossert, said Tuesday. “And so, we don’t have a lot of room left here to apply pressure to change their behavior.”
Two immediate questions come to mind – first, who is Trump to blackmail the UNSC into punishing nations which do not bend to the empires wishes? Yes, blackmailing, because that’s exactly what is categorically part of the chief rogue’s international behavior. Case in point is the recent UN Resolution to nullify Trump’s unilateral decision to declare Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, when he, the Donald, threatening he would watch closely who would vote against the US, in view of punishing those nations monetarily or with other sanctions; and second, how come Russia and China went along with this literally genocidal program of sanctions contained in this UNSC Resolution?
Both Russia and China know that Washington’s arguments against the DPRK are based on a web of lies. That everything coming out of Washington is a lie, or untruth, or omission of facts – is well known around the globe. But in this case, where two ascending super-powers, Russia and China have the veto right to say NO to these illegal sanctions, it begs the question, why’ didn’t they use their veto?
Even more so, since Russia and China are both also ‘sanctioned’ by Washington for not ‘behaving’, and because Russia and China are natural allies of North Korea. – Why were they going along with Washington’s blackmail? – A veto could have sent a clear message to the sort of preposterous Nikki Haleys and Donald Trumps of this world, that there is no more fear of the devil, but that the power plates are clearly shifting away from Washington.
Was it out of fear that the madman could possibly press the red bottom, if provoked? – Voting with the madman is certainly no reason to believe that the Mad Man will not press the nuclear bottom. – Then, what kind of diplomacy is it? – The fear of more sanctions directed at Russia and China? This would be outright ridiculous, as both countries, founders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), are almost fully detached from the western dollar economy and are heading a new economy that already comprises about half of the world’s population and one third of the globe’s economic output. Hence, they can function fully independently from the west.
Then why?
Maybe because they, Russia and China, want to show the world that no matter how they vote, they will do what they deem correct, like in this case not adhering to the sanction, as they will not let North Korea’s people, their friends and allies, suffocate to death. This would tell those nations who still do not dare contradicting to US of A – “Don’t be afraid, we are on your side.”
Already a month ago, Reuters reported that according to the North Korean representative at the UN Geneva, those who most suffer from the sanctions are women and children. This is almost everywhere the case with ‘sanctions’. For example, in Iraq where under the Clinton sanctions program, following a 1995 UN report, “576,000 Iraqi children may have died since the end of the Persian Gulf war because of economic sanctions imposed by the Security Council, according to two scientists who surveyed the country for the Food and Agriculture Organization.” In addition, the study found “steeply rising malnutrition among the young, suggesting that more children will be at risk in the coming years.” – Indeed, close to a million Iraqis have died as the result of a decade long US-imposed UN sanctions scheme.
Will the world allow similar numbers – or higher – of people to die in North Korea, just because the DPRK has opted to defend herself against the self-proclaimed exceptional nation that has for over 60 years refused to sign a peace agreement and instead constantly threatened North Korea with annual high-powered military war games along the Korean Peninsula?
North Korea has done no harm to any other nation. North Korea has had the courage and strength to rebuild as a socialist nation in almost full isolation from a 1953 US-devastated country with the loss from then one third of the population, about 3 million people. Does anyone wonder why North Korea has opted to defend herself – come what may?
And does anybody realize, including the 15 UNSC countries that have condemned the DPRK to starve, that North Korea has declared numerous times that she wants nothing more than Peace, that she is willing to sign a nuclear weapons disarmament program along with all the other nuclear powers; and she is ready to negotiate, as long as Washington stops its high-powered military maneuvers and jet fighter territorial overflights.?
Why would North Korea, or any nation for that matter – not have the same right as the US, UK, Russia, China, France, Israel, India, Pakistan, and the NATO member nuclear weapons sharing states of Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Turkey – all of which have acquired atomic weapons for alleged “defense purposes”?

Of late, it seems starving children to death and denying medicine is the preferred weapon of mass destruction…one that takes a lot of allies. Some of those allies are the usual useful idiots but some leaving me shaking my head in dismay
UN sanctions won’t do a damn thing to DPRK’s nuclear weapons program. North Korea has reached the needed level of strategic deterrence against the US (and the Pentagon is fully aware of that fact): Continental United States is effectively within the reach of Hwasong-15 ICBMs, meaning game over.
China may have embraced the latest sanctions as a symbolic gesture towards the west but in reality nothing will change on the ground from a commercial perspective: trade between PRC and DPRK will continue to flourish (and their economies will continue integrating as well).
China is not necessarely happy with Kim Jung Un and his rhetoric; North Korea has probably as much as half of the worlds rare earth under its mountains. One strong possibility is that they think that KJUn will capitulate and accept to become a vassal of China in exchange of their protection. But that’s a risky gamble.
The second possibility is that both China & Russia think that the US is seeking a way to save the face and will stop it’s provocations against NK. They are wrong of course.
It just sent the message to the Iranians: do not rely on Russia. Because if tomorrow the US ask more sanctions against Iran under a bogus pretext, it’s not impossible that Russia will throw Iran under the bus even if the accusation doesn’t make sense. The Iranians are much less useful now that Syria is stabilized and Putin is eager to avoid a direct confrontation with the US.
I recall when usofa signed some treaties whereas NK would not start nuclear development and in return US would finance the build of hidroelectric damns…
then came bush junior, withdrew from internacional courts, and that particular treaty.
Shame on RU and CN… they never should align with US methods and actions…
I predict that at the meeting in Vancouver in January: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/rex-tillerson-ottawa-visit-1.4456579,
it will be agreed that the US will remove its carrier group for the duration of the Olympics in February as a gesture of goodwill. The US will remove the carrier group to demonstrate to the world what an awesome, benevolent country America is. The carrier group will go elsewhere and not return. Something will happen in YVR that helps the NoKo situation. The sanctions are just for show at the moment. But I’m no expert and often surprise myself with how wrong I can be.
You’re very hopeful. Those thieving, murderous criminals (aka US) will not remove their arsenal. They have no compassion, benevolence nor intelligence.
The article fails to answer the question why Russia and China would participate in using the UN for this unholy purpose? Saker??
my basic rule of thumb is:
if an article tries to provoke an emotional response – it is propagandist
further,
i am curios who the other 10 countries are that voted for the sanctions.
are they vassals, or did they just few days ago defy the empire on the
jerusalem vote? and why wouldn’t they defy the empire this time again?
could there be other valid reasons?
why are only russia and china called out for not supporting north korea?
should those 2 countries be the new “policemen of the world” in place
of the US? should russia and china take sides, and therefore alienate south korea
and japan?
is it possible that china and russia are playing for time? china/russia are only now
accommodating US wishes from 3-4 months ago – but in that time the empire got weaker.
sanctions are sure a pain in the ass for north korea, but that is nothing compared to a full
blown war with the US.
are citizens of north korea really starving or are they starving only in online articles?
will the guest workers be given citizenship and therefore avoid being sent home?
so many questions to answer … for the next article.
“why are only russia and china called out for not supporting north korea?”
For Russia especially, it’s because they are under sanctions and obviously NATO has decided to dismember Russia. So a “good gesture” to appease the US looks very odd.
To gain time and to confuse your opponent, never do what your opponent expects of you.
In any case NK will not be hungry because its surrender is useless for china and russia.
Their surrender would be to China or Russia actually. There’s just no way they’d work with USA.
At this point its not impossible China annexes NK into self governing region. That move will invalidated all sanction aimed at them.
Dismember Russia..really. Much of NATO will be a smouldering wreck if they are dumb enough to attack Russia given Russia’s revised military doctrine.
I doubt if the Russians now give a stuff about the sanctions. The sanctions have done Russia a massive favour in terms of increasing internal Russian ‘industrial capacity’ and accelerating the ‘pivot’ to Asia. The people that have suffered the most are stupid European nations that have apparently lost $100Billion in trade. The sanctions also reveal the decline of the US and its ability to exert meaningful economic and financial damage.
China and Russia know North Korea is a satrap of the Pentagon, as reported by William Engdahl, doing the bidding of Washington since before the Dennis Rodman Psyop Fail.
The North Korean regime is 100% rational, to the extent that it’s leadership wants only to remain in power, and as with their man-boy front man Kim Jong-un, wants lots of Western made goodies — toys, gadgets and culture for itself.
When North Korean oligarchs discovered they had no friends in the world following the collapse of the Soviet Union, they found themselves in quite a pickle. Naturally the Zionist oligarchy, fronted by men from the Pentagon but supported by everyone from Hollywood to the world of sports, made them an offer they could not refuse. The regime would get everything it needed to remain in power so long as it played the part given to it by the United States, following a trial run successful Basketball diplomacy.
Two things occur to me in regards to this situation.
1. The main reason for excluding the Russian flag from the olympics is to focus attention on this anti Russian sideshow, instead of on the shennanigans and flimsy bad acting of a Pentagon satrap.
2. Japan has been excercising a nuclear disaster ever since Fukushima occurred. They are about ready now to respond adequetely to a nuclear false flag attack against them, to be conducted by the same people who perpetrated 9/11, and then to be blamed on the North Koreans, thereafter to be used as an excuse to bring down absolute repression in the United States especially, as the dollar collapse and instantaneous impoverishment of all people holding assets in US dollars is conducted under the threat of a global nuclear war.
Don’t think they will do it?
Could you have imagined 9/11 before they did that?
And yet the same people remain in control since after 9/11, unpunished and basically unscathed, and are ready to grab for even more power in an unprecedented psyop and show.
Don’t say you weren’t warned.
Let me see if I can understand your argument. Kim is a CIA puppet, who agreed to let himself be killed in a US attack or war against North Korea. While I’ll agreed that some leaders of countries do become US puppets. I think it would be pretty difficult to recruit one who agrees to die in the deal. That would kind of be a “deal breaker” I’d imagine.
No Uncle Bob, I did not say he agreed to let himself be killed.
I said he is a Pentagon satrap, and who like all US or Pentagon satraps will be shocked, just shocked, when his sponsers use him for their purposes then kick him to the curb.
removed. No attacking other commenters. Mod
But that of course is the way this is heading. What ,I think, you fail to understand is that every country is different. On a personal level there is nothing the US could offer Kim for him to become their puppet for years. He lives as close to the life of a “god” that the 21st century can offer. There is nothing the US could offer him as an incentive for him to let himself get in the situation they are in now.As boring as it may be for someone constantly looking for a conspiracy. The truth is the World is on the verge of war in Korea. And Kim isn’t working for the US.Whether war can be avoided,is uncertain today. But if it is or isn’t it won’t be because Kim is a CIA plant.
The US can offer nothing to North Korea? You need only think of it for one second to know that’s untrue.
The US has everything the North Koreans want and need, just as they do with Iran, and unfortunately also Russia. This is why the US imposes sanctions on unfriendly regimes, to exert influence.
The scenario I have described above is very real and quite possible. It has been telegraphedin culture and media for years, using exactlty the same approach used ahead of 9/11.
It is up to all people of goodwill to counter the possibility of a 9/11 style nuclear false flag attack on Japan, conducted by the Pentagon but blamed on North Korea.
By simply advertising the most obvious scenario in advance, we are potentially making this mad sick plot untenable, and all just ahead of the Olympics, when the attention of the entire world will be fixated on the region.
I don’t doubt that the US could offer advantages to “North Korea”.But not for Kim personally to work for them. And as we see,the US doesn’t plan on offering those advantages.Their policy is to threaten, punish, probably attack North Korea. So while I agree that the US most likely will/would do a false flag attack and blame North Korea for it.It won’t be with Kim’s help.
Carrots and sticks, very obviously Uncle Bob.
What is the point of you comment if not to throw readers off track?
To reiterate..
It is possible that a nuclear false flag attack will be conducted by the United States or agencies thereof, most likely against Japan, and blamed on North Korea — and all occurring when the attention of the world is focussed on the nearby Olympics.
There is no need to accuse Uncle Bob of throwing readers off track while he is clearly just speaking his mind.
Your comment is sounding emotional and irrational…..and this way of discussing will not help your argument even if it would make sense or contains any rationality.
Ok Harry red, I will try to be less emotional, and more rational, in all future encounters with Uncle Bob or anyone else.
In the meantime, what is your opinion of the scenario I outline above?
Do you believe it is conceivable that the same people who perpetrated 9/11 could launch a nuclear attack on Japan, and blame on North Korea, to advance their most nefarious objectives?
(1) “… Do you believe it is conceivable that the same people who perpetrated 9/11 could launch a nuclear attack on Japan, and blame on North Korea, to advance their most nefarious objectives? …”
True, of course it is not beyond the pale of that crew to do so.
(2) Concerning your earlier assertion that Kim Jong-un is a Pentagon’s satrap. Well, yes, he is indeed a “satrap”, but not a usual, conscious, deliberate one, but in effect serves as one. You could have clarified that point by providing a web link to the F. William Engdahl’s excellent analysis, which you do mention, titled “North Korea is a Pentagon Vassal State”:
http://williamengdahl.com/englishNEO1Nov2016.php , or
https://journal-neo.org/2016/11/01/north-korea-is-an-pentagon-vassal-state/
Where-wolf…..of course it is conceivable.
But does the US really need to do that ?
I believe if the US wants to bomb North Korea they will do it…no excuses or pre-texts needed…The whole nuclear issue is enough for them.
And I believe that FIRST China and SECOND Russia (in that order) will be partly responsible for any war that takes place on the Korean peninsula…..For letting the war take place to begin with.
@ Harry_Red
Regarding your
“… FIRST China and SECOND Russia (in that order) will be partly responsible for any war that takes place on the Korean peninsula… …”
below.
Exactly. My observation too (except, perhaps, about the order of the two). Note, both of these (greedy capitalist) countries did the same criminal thing in Libya in 2011, by disingenuously “abstaining” in the UN Security Council vote for the Resolution #1973 to let it pass – with a disastrous result, which they fully predicted. Indeed, The Emperor Has No Clothes.
China has been dying for 1000 years on Korean peninsula to help them fend off invaders. Kim V3 knows very well his actions will bring war to China as well, and he is doing it recklessly. Why should Chinese government support his actions? Did he coordinate his actions with China? Will he dare to play his games without know China will be involved if there is a war?
No matter what you hot heads, pure hearts think China should or should not do. China has no interest to send her Children as canon folder to save some crazy fat boy’s ass. There is no sympathy for him In China. Sina news barely mention it at all.
this is nonsense.
I don’t like wherewolfs and twiligths. they fear the light and operate in the dark
As well, from the inference rich part of the internet, is a narrative that Obama and Hilary Clinton diverted Uranium from America into Canada, then Russia onto Iran and North Korea. Iran was paid in pallets of untraceable cash for their part in getting the Uranium to NoKo, or keeping quiet about the deal. Or something. Part of the problem with NoKo is that there is giant cover up of the Uranium 1 deal going on which obfuscates the facts. Supposedly.
Alexander Mercouris over at The Duran has a more nuanced piece on the UN vote. It seems clear that China managed to water down the resolution.
While still capping NK’s petroleum products, intended to impair the military and missile program, NK still has access to crude oil from China which is all they need to keep the civilian economy going.
The naval blockade the US wanted is also watered down to an “inspection regime” which AFAIK has always been in place, but may be “upgraded.”
So the Chinese vote, according to China’s media, was mostly symbolic to pressure NK to be more open to talks but at the same time reaffirms their position that there can be no regime change on the peninsula.
What really happened in Security Council: China REJECTED oil embargo on North Korea
http://theduran.com/actually-happened-security-council-china-rejected-oil-embargo-north-korea/
“water down” means nothing if the US asks more than what it wants to have after a “compromise”. Both China & Russia could have veto the sanctions. For the moment China is less than Russia the focus of NATO but they still hope to see a caitulation of NK on its nukes. Impossible, won’t happen.
There is no appeasing the orange pyscho, what did Russia and China achieve by helping vote in these sanctions.?
1. Better sanctions than war, Isn’t it? Think of it as tactical withdrawal.
2. Gain in timing. Time is now precious commodity for the following reasons:
3. Allows Olympic games to proceed, strengthens South Korean leadership which often finds itself
between anvil and a hammer.
4. Strengthens Trump. This may be the most important reason since only Trump has a bit of power that can
softly reduce the power of GM (global mafia)
5. Gives time to No. Korean leadership to regroup, recheck, reinforce and rethink. I do think often that the key
country is the South Korea and its switch to SCO, OBOR, similar to Turkey’s process of reorientation.
6. Allows both Xi and Vlad to appear cooperative while extra time would allow them to prepare to switch to
petro-yuan, petro-ruble, all gold-backed. It is clear to me they also need time so this vote definitely reinforce

Regards, Spiral
I do not completely agree with you Spiral.
Yes, sanctions are better than war, but where does it end? The Imperialists are provoking and pushing wherever they can.
What happens after the sanctions? You think that the United Rats will change their thinking for the greater good? I mean, a few months from now we have probably the same impasse (If not in NK, then somewhere else). Then what? More sanctions? How many people will die because of these sanctions?
No war. But also back your friends who are willing to resist the empire.
Btw, do you really believe that Trump is the good guy, willing to do the right thing but can’t because of certain reasons. Just give him time and he get things done? No, sorry.
As much as I appreciate Koenig’s analysis work, and usually agree with him, I think Mercouris has a better take on what went down in this case.
What really happened in Security Council: China REJECTED oil embargo on North Korea
http://theduran.com/actually-happened-security-council-china-rejected-oil-embargo-north-korea/
The israeloamericans are running a weak boxer’s bluff/provocation strategy, Russia and China are engaging in judo, waiting the sod out and letting him exhaust himself. And when he collapses, they will probably catch him and gently lay him on the floor. Such is the reality of defeating an aggressor without giving the aggressor what they want, IE: war, while thinking ahead about the post zio-empire fall.
The zionazi/nazi oligarchy is oriented to brute force and war. It’s been their perogative in the past, they are used to hammering their way home. Even with propaganda. If one looks at how they practice propagandising, they use a lot of psywar, but still rely primarily in dominating the medium, making sure opposing views are not heard.
The zionazi/nazi establishment in the west has a “plan” and they are on a “tight schedule”. Russia and China and their Allies are not acting according to “the plan”, therefore they are messing with the schedule. It takes a lot more intelligence and creativity to stop a psychopath without using violence, than it does to simply trigger a firefight with the sod.
That is what is happening now. And will be for a while.
Good Research. That is why it always pays to go straight to the source. I felt lmuch like Koenig but this certainly clarifies the situation. Though, in the end, I think that, while buying time, it will not deter The Empire from going to war when these latest rounds of sanctions fail to make NK heel. Appeasement has a long history of failure and I do not think this time it will be different. Something not often mentioned is that Cuba, for example, was under heavy sanctions for decades and it is only 90 miles away from the continental US. It never wavered and found ways to forge ahead despite the worst the US threw at it. NK will be no different and considering the history, they are well within their rights to defend themselves any way they see fit.
The AngloZionist Empire, as The Saker so aptly calls the Empire across the Atlantic, has been outmanoeuvred brilliantly by NK. There are no military options on the table because if the AZE strikes 1st, even if well planned & executed, NK will have the capability to destroy Seoul & parts of Japan resulting in millions of deaths, incl. those of Americans.
It seems to me that Russia & China voted for the resolution to shut Haley & her boss up, but R & C will bend the rules to the maximum & continue supplying NK through the backdoor, which is unverifiable. At the same time, China has given a strong message to KJU, who has been behaving like a spoilt brat and needs to be brought to heel.
I believe if China do it for the show they’d vetoed the draft and make their own version with US and its vassals obligations add on as per solution of double freeze. Of course the US would’ve veto back however that’s the show they’d wanted to have to humiliate the US.
In my opinion China and Russia just couldn’t allow the NK to be a nuclear States. Not when they situated on their borders.
Given that the US threw the kitchen sink at DPRK in 1953 and didn’t win I think we can declare a US defeat. Therefore the solution, in my opinion, would take 50-55 minutes. Mr Trump – a National Emergency person – could declare a National Emergency (5 mins), be flown to DPRK in a 16,000mph secret jet (filling out a surrender form and Peace Treaty on the plane) (35 mins) and upon landing near Kim Jong-un’s quarters be whisked into a room with a table and fountain pen to await Kim’s arrival and signature (10-15 mins). All done and dusted. How easy is that??
My nominee for Best Comment of 2017
North Korea is under complete control of CIA.
Would you mind offering some evidence, links, or reasoning.
Thank you, Spiral

Discrediting Russia and China now is a number one priority for the zionazis and their websayanim. Part of their full spectrum dominance methodology. Whenever they “fail” to rise up to the zionazis “bait”, one sees the zio-manure spammed.
This comment s not directed at Koenig, btw.
There is no reason to credit or discredit Russia, China or for that matter the political entity known as the United States of America. All are multifaceted entities with plenty of good and bad packed into both.
On the other the transnational Zionist elite are a group of people, and a social class. Whether they be from Russia or China or anywhere else they are capable of terrible things, and as any collection of powerful people, there exists within this group a preponderance and a culture that is dominated by sociopathic thinking and behaviour, especially with regards to how they treat the little people like everyone reading this blog.
The Chinese who own slave factories where they make iPhones do not give a rat’s arse whether the people who work for them live or die. At the same time those factory owners have common intetests with the Capitalists who own Apple, which is in any case an entity and a front which like google or microsoft, is controlled the CIA/NSA and etc. for the purpose of achieving Zionist goals, including the conquest and control of the world.
China and Russia will act according to the designs of the people who control those nations and which includes, in the main, cooperating with the Anglo-Zionists for projects deemed mutually beneficial to all.
Is it not mutually beneficial to all powerful people that citizens of each country believe that their own local elites seek what is best for the people of their own nations?
Could anything other than the perception of the potential for a war between great powers justify the US expenditute of at least 1 trillion per annum on so-called defense?
When in fact a Chinese or Russian capitalist or general will exploit you to the bone if he believes he can do so without harming himself or his business — and that is the trick played by Zionist elites of all nations, and shouted to legions of web sayanim, to make everyone forget the importance of class based analysis in all geopolitical affairs.
Where-wolf….the corruption on this Earth is much much broader than only the “Zionist elite” or the “Capitalists” who own companies like Apple.
There are millions of share-holders in these companies in the upper and middle-classes.
There are millions and millions of employees who work in these companies.
There are an estimated 400 million entrepreneurs in the world.
There are an estimated 27 million entrepreneurs in the US alone….some of these people become owners of larger companies and become millionaires, etc.
All of these people function within the fiat-currency usurious economic banking system.
My point is: the corruption is systemic and runs through-out the entire globe and through-out all classes.
And you are correct that it is not beneficial for a factory owner in China making products for the US for the two nations to have any problems or maybe even differences for that matter.
However, I am convinced that there are rulers and leaders, especially in the East, that do have their people’s interest at heart and do want to make a difference and change the course of history. These people are not “all powerful” and they have to work within a certain framework just to stay alive (politically and literally).
They have to at least try to do their best with the means they have……because even if you know all odds are stacked against you, it is your duty to do what is right for the short time of life you have on this Earth, whether it is helping the weak or speaking the truth…..Otherwise you might just as well pack up and leave ;-).
However, I am convinced that there are rulers and leaders, especially in the East, that do have their people’s interest at heart and do want to make a difference and change the course of history.
I completely agree.
Further, I do not think the Russians or Chinese are on board with the most extreme scenarios pushed by those who dominate the West. I think there is a real wrestling match going on at the highest levels between those who want to launch a nuclear false flag attack to be blamed on North Korea, and those that don’t.
What is most essential, IMHO, is that we do not turn these discussions into dumbed down versions of good guys versus bad. The Chinese and Russians will play along with Western Zionists to the degree that is required to protect their own individual interests.
If this means voting to support a UN resolution against North Korea, then that is what they will do, however it is no good to always ascribe positive intentions to any single actor because of a vehement hatred of the United States. These things require nuance and a willingness to consider, for example, that some Russian or Chinese capitalists can be as evil as anyone from the West.
Further Harry_Red, it is our absolute duty to do everything we can to speak the Truth, and no one who cares about the future of our loved ones or planet should even be considering packing it in.
Too many people have done that already.
I was under the impression that the Apple ‘slave’ factories, at least the ones that put up netting around the 2nd floors of the factories to prevent suicide jumpers, were located in our capitalist partner, Taiwan. At least that was where that bad press initially came out of awhile back.
Oh, really? So even Peter Koenig, the author of this article, would be a zionazi because he doesn’t praise China & Russia for their move against a country that doesn’t recognize Israel? Even if the main reproach against NK behind those sanctions is to not follow the path of Iraq, Libya, Syria & Iran regarding MDW ?
The fact that Russia had a tremendorous, positive aspect in Syria (so far) doesn’t mean that Putin is God.
VT, While it is not Syrian government or Donbass people’s fault for conflicts on their land, Kim V3 is going into this conflict knowing fully well of consequences. More over, Kim is dissing Chinese government on all range of issues while banking on China is duty bonded by its history to support Korea in time of war.
I hope he get beaten to a pulp for playing with our children’s lives before we march in making a province out of it. It has to stop and/or start some where.
I can’t decide which one is better between being a truly Independent country that can challenge the world superpowers or become an obedient vassals to one of them.
S.Korea has definitely choose to be vassals and that make the nationalistic course of action at times hard to be made in example the deployment of US missile complexes on it’s soils.
N.Korea can also take the same course of action and subordinate themselves to either China or Russia (that would make Koreans to be divided even more) or to capitulated to the US and S.K to unite the two Korea. The latter is out of question while the former would make their future course of action depending on situation may severely restricted (or even forced to take action that’ll harmful to their country).
Anyway if in fact N.K capable to push through despite these severe restrictions or from their standpoint ‘hostile conspiracy’ they’re going to be a strong cause in uniting the two Koreans. Even despite their degraded economy in shambles since all in all they’re not bending to anyone as a ‘Koreans’. Then again that will severely depends on how they built their image or in this cases the ‘Kim’ images.
In the end the best solution would be to have the three world superpowers (US,CN,RUS) to step back to let the two Koreas negotiate and compromise between themselves and to have the US enter a pact of nonaggression to NK.
The peace between two Korea went parallel with US and N.K.
Provoking a war is not a symptom of independence. Provoking a war that brings destruction to its always dependable neighbor, while depend on the neighbor’s hand outs is not showing of independence, but a showing of madness. Same with provoke a war that will bring destruction to its brothers at south. Not to forget the 1950 war started with North pushes South into sea first…
Had it work on economical cooperation with South, the unification would have much better chance. What are the chance of mad Kim win a war by itself over South?
They didn’t provoked a war. First things first before the lead up into these ballistic missile test their spaces program aims at launching a satellite delivery platforms which is what it’s doing (sure those may well be redesigned as ballistic missile however had it not for the US escalating their hostilities they’d not push on as hard too). While it’s nuclear weapon procurement program only started in earnest when the US has shows that it’s not agreement capable by tearing down their agreement in Bush era as well as their historical behavior (Saddam, Libya, Syria, etc).
Also the lead up into Korean wars in the past you may need to read what’s on their side of story (even in the wikipedia they admitted that formation of South Korean government is in violation their (US) earlier agreement).
Here’s some key point why they’d want a nuclear deterrent arguably especially to deter US alone.
– They’re isolated. Both key allies (CN,RUS) did have become irreplaceable trade partner however didn’t or can’t do more to help them at the UN table or political realm regarding their economical blockade.
– Growing gaps between the two Korea in all sector which is the economic, military, and their industrial capability. The next Korean war can be won by South Koreans alone.
Note that the US-S.K war games are held annually each year when it’s on harvest season for the North Korea which mostly relying on their own food production due to economic blockade.
– US hostilities and historical behavior. They invade Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria to overthrow their government and unfortunately their only allies both Russia and China did nothing or can’t stop them.
Don’t focus on the ‘Kim’. North Koreans aren’t Kim alone and they have their own history and pride.
Sorry for double posting.
The ‘Mad’ (ironically also Mutually Assured Destruction against US they seek) Kim can’t win the next Korean war against South Korean. However as far as i can see it’s not their intention to go as far as to make sure their weapons can punishes USA mainland.
I’ll repeat it that North and South Korean peace went parallel with US and North Korea peace. They’re not the same thing.
Why would China has anything to do with any one in middle east?
How can Korea be isolated while has support of its giant neighbors Russia and China?
When did Korea ever left unprotected without Chinese support? The first sino-japan war was fight on behave of Korea.
A nuke taunting mad man is in no one’s interests, let it be Korea, Russia or China.
Too bad that North Korea can not have cake and eat it too. As long as the mad Kim on top, then enjoy the isolation…
It’s all related in global balance of power. The two superpowers let the US break the international law worse yet without adequate repercussions (they’re quite good using propaganda to rally their cause globally i should admit). This signifying that on the global political projection they’re losing to the US and it’s alliances. Though right now i believe they’re on a slow dive.
Anyway here’s some more key points.
– China and Russia is their key trade partner however both China and Russia generated more profit from trading with industrially more advanced South Korea. Meanwhile the North Korea remains restricted South Korea is one of the leading economic power (again not because lack of efforts or talent in north Koreans mind you it’s all about their severe restrictions in importing key resources into the country and to make profit in international market. Proof ? Rocketry and Nuclear programs are one of the pinnacle of engineering)
– Despite being an allies both Russia and China didn’t provided them with Power balancing.
In example providing them with Air defense system to combat their adversaries air superiority. Sure those were expensive sensitive equipment but it is unfortunately relevant in keeping the peace between the Korea. You can’t exactly hope that they’d accept something like allies coming running to protect them after they’re already facing losses and destructions.
– Lastly about commitments and trust. China and Russia both support the latest sanctions, have withholding their part of obligations in most cases in earlier sanctions (meanwhile trading with South Korea). Both China and Russia have little faith to the previous Kim even less now on the current Kim which in turn didn’t trust them. Were the Kim being unreasonable in this cases ? I think not. Like Putin said they’d eat grass if they have to than having to abandon their nuclear or missile program. I believe he too understand how far they were driven into corner though how they come to believe by supporting the newest sanctions can better the situation is completely beyond me.
You know tough luck. North Korea have many choices, so are the neighbors. North Korea make choice of refuse to interact with others (close down industrial parks with south and China), and then it should take the consequence like a man and stop whining.
Why would Chinese or Russian provide so called Power balance inside Korea while they are situated right at borders? Had it no bordering China and Russia will Korea still exist? Your logic is fraud and how do you know North Korea prefer to be militarily occupied by China or Russia while a traditional time honored historical alliance that has China fought on its behave many times in past 1000s years?
Why Korea proclaim to be strive for self alliances, but demand free hand outs and free protection? Why is Korea demand free protection but refuse to consider protectors point of views?
China and Russia do not like the fact the mad man has the control of nuke, and they are entitled to make their own point heard.
Add North to the poor Korea. My point have been delivered.
North Korea under economic blockade while their counterparts didn’t. South Korea get nice military upgrade from the Sam the North didn’t. The North gets sanctions the South didn’t.
Free handouts ? Free protection ? It’s all about US geopolitical projection in the Pacific and how in my opinion should the China and Russia counter them. Tit for tat.
They really had the chances to better North Korea before they took it into their own hands.
For the military occupation unfortunately that’s what going to happened.
United Korea under South Government = US strike platforms against the two Asian giants and risk to be burned to crisps.
United Korea on the greater Asia coalition = first front against Japan/US.
There’s no chances in either cases no matter which side it taken it’s bound to get burned.
It’s only going to work out if the US kicked out off the Pacific region. Peacefully if possible.
Sorry China and Russia are not Kim’s puppet or its sucker. Kim is holding the whole country and neighbors hostage, if Koreans and their cheer leaders do not like it, it need to take matter into their own hands. Blame others will not get them very far…
Like I’ve said don’t focus on the Kim.
North Korean people exist and they have established long history from their formation.
The lack of commitment and faith to North Korean pushed them into this stalemate. Who’s gonna share their concerns that the US and S.K would definitely attacks them ? After yet another sanctions slapped on them did anyone placed a counter balancing sanctions to the S.K/US ? None did. As far as they’re concerned they’re alone in this so why shouldn’t they just see it to the end the choice they’ve made.
In the end empowering the North Korean is the same thing as becoming Kim ‘puppet’. On the other hand the South Korean ‘puppet’ the US successfully placed a missile complexes using the pretext of defending against North Korean nuclear ballistic missiles which none really believe it could do.
people of north korea have free edducation, more beds in hospital per 1000 citizens, free healthcare .
well the WHO lists the ROK’s life expectancy is 82.3 and they are ranked at #11 just above Canada at 82.2. The USA with all the wonderful healthcare is ranked at #31 with 79.3 just above Cuba at #32 with 79.1. They list the DPRK at #109 at 70.6 years. Which begs the question why a third world sanctioned dictatorship’s life expectancy is only 9 years
Why is it that I am thinking of Neville Chamberlain and his 30th September 1938 speech; ‘Peace in our time’.
Of course back then it was not to be as the manipulations continued and when the USSR and Germany invaded Poland, Britain and France declared war on Germany, and then Chamberlain resigned due to ill-health, in May 1940 to be replaced by the criminal Churchill. Chamberlain died on the 9th November two days prior to the anniversary of the end of WW1.
The first thing is that the propaganda from our MSM was just as bad then as it is now. That simply means that we cannot trust what we are told; there will be omissions and ‘spin’ put out.
The second thing is that we are aware that both Russia and China are not fully prepared for war as yet, and America is aware of the situation and needs to push for war now before her opponents gain too much time.
In other words this is a ‘Chess’ game, but the Americans are more used to playing ‘Checkers’.
There is one other consideration; previously, I understand that there have been ‘sanctions’ placed on the DPRK. but it appears that both China and Russia have not quite adhered to those ‘sanctions’.
Let us just wait and see how America fails again.
NKR is going to have to hang in there for a while yet. Russia and China need another 3 years to be ready for the war coming. But they may not get it. At best they might get one more year before kinetic engagement. Russia will break any blockade of NKR and won’t let its people starve. The Chinese will not allow mass starvation in one its neighbours either. The US is simply trying to get Japan, the Koreas, China and Russia into a game of Russian roulette wherein the US forces one of the four to make a mistake which can then be spun up into a nuclear exchange which would wipe out a lot of competition for US manufacturers.
Don’t fret…Trump rides a fortune found on the ‘dead horse trail’. He rides a horse called death.
i think he is a candidate for the fierce king of Daniel 8.
To me the “capitulation” of Russia and China to the USA demands in UNSC looks like the preparation of a trap for the USA’S hubris. What I mean is that both Russia and China can’t be blame by USA of not doing enough to put pressure on North Korea to give up their nuclear program. USA will continue to ask for more sanctions against NKR until practically nothing will be left short of military intervention, and NKR will continue their missile tests pushing for USA intervention. Keep in mind that Russia and China can’t be blame by anybody, especially the USA for not cooperating with “international community” on the NKR matter. China already stated that as long as NKR doesn’t start a conflict they will support NKR if the country is attack. All this time both Russia and China will prepare for a total destruction of the American’s carriers and their escorting ships. It will be the disaster that will brake the empire’s back and everybody is waiting for…Who knows? I don’t.
15/0 is very symbolic! possibly like mentioned in this article (http://theduran.com/actually-happened-security-council-china-rejected-oil-embargo-north-korea/) last ditch effort to avoid a war.
Seems like a bluff game and who blinks first…Americans are chickens and attack on NK would be last nail in their coffin. So no doubt you always see this smirk(https://cdn.inquisitr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/North-Korea-Han-Song-Ryol.jpg).
Could also be a face saver Russikies and Chinese are throwing at Nikki Haley and company to lick after humiliation over Jerusalem.
If I want want war I would focus on Ukraine thats a much better feeder of chaos.
If a war starts that would just prove how stupid Japanese and S.Koreans are. Seriously why they can’t just ask Americans to shut up? They seem to be educated people?
I would give Russians and Chinese benefit of doubt I think they winked at North Koreans LOL.
Americans are F***ed. their economy is F***ed. It is an empire like a chicken without head…let them run and hit the walls more jokes for me at least.
Russia voted in support of more sanction on north korea at the same time it is prepared for confrontation with the US which the zionists have been pushing for..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUxhHrDjfNE
“… Maybe because they, Russia and China, want to show the world that no matter how they vote, they will do what they deem correct, like in this case not adhering to the sanction, as they will not let North Korea’s people, their friends and allies, suffocate to death. This would tell those nations who still do not dare contradicting to US of A – “Don’t be afraid, we are on your side.”…”
Yeah, right. Must be that choking the Korean people to death is “for their own good”. If Putin says so…
By such a method any perfidy can be “justified”.
On the other hand, rather than get bogged down trying to account for celestial motions on the premise that the Sun orbits the Earth, wouldn’t it be far simpler to change the premise? In the above case, to honestly acknowledge that The Emperor Has No Clothes, and start from there?
Then, for instance. Some might even argue that Putin, realising preponderance of the adversary’s military at the moment, feels need to make secret “deals” with U.S., hoping to get pressure off elsewhere on the planet (Novorussia?, Syria?,…) – Koreans being merely the very cheapest “gambit”. (Recall his using his own friend colonel Kadafi as “gambit” in 2011 … though it didn’t work … that time.) Or some other not thoroughly unconvincing argument.
P. Koenig assumes that States have legal soverignity. The US does not recognize this, ergo P. K. is assuning a condition that does not exist when he posits question: “Why would North Korea, or any nation for that matter – not have the same right as the US, UK, Russia, China, France, Israel, India, Pakistan, and the NATO member nuclear weapons sharing states of Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Turkey – all of which have acquired atomic weapons for alleged “defense purposes”?”
Since NATO did Yugoslavia to death. 1998. Coffee?
Some States are permitted, others are not.
It is precisely this situation that Ru and Ch find not ok.
Ok?
Meantime US will find NK does not change policy. US will smash NK, Ru and Ch will be rid of Kim and save Korea from the ruin. A ruin that will signal Imperial Defeat in the eyes of the entire earth. Maybe. Maybe not.
and film at 11, as they used to say…may look like this: https://www.veteranstoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/uss-pueblo-696×396.jpg
Bitcoin is a alphabet creation and its purpose is to soak up dollars flying off the feds presses. Bitcoin and Co are a means to tax the global economy outside of the tax framework by having people buy it only for the entire coin edifice to collapse evaporating in the process excess dollar holdings. It is time to consider Bitcoin might be a state cultured and maintained device aimed at docking up excess dollars and underwriting Chinese Indian European and Russian gold reserves.
Shooting missiles at Japan will tend to get folks a little upset.
But the plan to break the alliance between China and NK once fulfilled due to her participation with the increasing sanctions will make those same folks a lot happy, once Kim decided to shoot missiles into Beijing too. Which is more annoying: an obvious enemy or a sell-out “ally’?
That might be the perfect scenario for the empire when increasing sanctions finally broke the alliance. NK becomes free for all, but before her end, nukes and missiles are fired at both enemies and former allies. Dead Chinese and Russians makes retaliation strikes against NK unavoidable, but that helps the invading SK/US/Jap forces. Whatever China/Rus does at that point, they are in trouble in the short term and long.
@Ali
Yes their participation in this sanctions may well be their biggest blunder regarding Korean conflict.
North Korea have been sets up as the best checkmate I’ve ever seen towards USA geopolitical reach in the region.
Leave it alone and they’ll have a hostile country capable to hit their mainland.
Preempted any attacks and it will invalidated their future role in uniting Korea not to mentioned they’d held responsible for the ensuing destruction and chaos.
Both Japanese and Korean population overwhelmingly anti war and anti nuclear. USA led preemptive would make them responsible for war possibly even nuclear.
It’s either let the N.K capable to hit them to preserve their geopolitical projection or
Stop the N.K and lost their political power in the region.
Ennemy of my ennemy is not my friend.
North Korean regime is really stupid. Why constantly theaten USA instead of speaking moderatly . They could only say ” Our population were mass murdered by USA in the 50’s. Millions of wemen and chidren were crushed by M. Le May crazy strategy. We were once victim of an US genocide. NEVER AGAIN!!! And for that reason, and only for that, we need atomic weapons to warrant our existence.”
But now, we can see a sinister clown, grotesque monarch, “communist” king always being delirous like a lunatic and vomit crazy threats and statements.
Nobody can protect such a regim. Nobody. And neither China or Russia can allow to be lead in a war with a became crazy US regime. China and Russia need times in their strategic and peacefull vews. Evereday passing make them stronger,, everyday passing make US Empire weaker. Everybody knows that USA can’t absolutly not attack Korea and US senior officer speccialy.
And nobody can stand such ridiculous and dangerous rodomontade.
Message to Kim seems clear: without us.
So you think that the NK officials can select what appears in the Western media? You know how they are; If Reuters or AFP don’t find the proper declaration that they want from Kim ung Un, they will take the declaration of some NK journalist. And if they have nothing suitable, they will ignore. When was the last time that you saw a NK official explainig on CNN how their country was butchered in the 1950’s? Its not CNN’s fault, it’s “their” (NK) fault, isn’t it?
“Nobody can protect such a regim”
When did they ask your protection? If they have something to sell and they can pay for their imports, you are the agressor when you try to blockade them in order to bow them into submission. The powers that voted for those sanctions did not only decided to sell themselves to NK, they have decided to prevent anyone from doing it.
Russia and China always promoted the “double freeze” approach: NK should halt its missile tests, while US,SK,Japan should halt its exercises.
Did Russia and China abandon their approach? Why? Forget the rats of the US, but the SK/Japan could/should be persuaded to stop their exercises with the US. (Better: throw out the imperialists). Was something like this mentioned towards SK, Japan?
Russia and China told Uncle Sam: “Yes we are weaker than You and we don’t want war like you do”.
I’ll give Saker 7 days to clear from his throat all flour and try to explain. Mercouris, The Lazarus, might have helped him off the hook. Not so bright last scene for this year ( do i have to remind collapse of BRICS in Brazil, and most of Latin America recaptured by Washington? And even Syria is not yet won by Russia).
Time is running. I have my first doubts of Galtung’s claim that US Empire is done in 2021.
For Russia and China, it looks to me like they are digging their own graves. The US will show gratitude to both countries in the form of arming Ukraine and Taiwan.
I have worked closely with combat vets from the 1950-53 period, US vets. Many were wounded in combat.
Their stories were mostly about the terrain…
NK is an infantry disaster. Plain and simple. A real meat grinder.
VP said it…they’ll eat grass before surrendering.
Expect opening of KW2.0 will follow the patterns of KW1.0
But there are many lies about KW1.0 origin.
The ugly fact is that SK invaded NK under the influence of CIA…
And the “Korean War” was essentially a counter-attack. The US, by the way, bombed USSR airfield early in the KW1.0 ruining many fighter aircraft…and some people, Soviet Citizens and military persons.
I F Stone says that the beginning was the SK attacks and invasion…several towns over a few days…
https://www.overdrive.com/media/1929293/the-hidden-history-of-the-korean-war
So, since the “axis” of Heartland in Korea remains an essential pied-a-ter for a failing empire, and since Kim is not stupid, the KW2.0 may be expected to open with a false flag.
Not necessarily an atomic one, but after the 911 fiasco whad da yagunna do fer an encore except a nuke?

“The US, by the way, bombed USSR airfield early in the KW1.0 ruining many fighter aircraft…and some people, Soviet Citizens and military persons.”
Can you recommend a web source that describes that attack? Please, and thanks if you can.
It is easy to find mention of the attack, they called it “accidental”, naturally.
“squadron of Soviet P-63s based near Vladivostok was accidentally strafed by U.S. Air Force P-80 jets during the Korean War”
Run the quotation through a search engine…
F 80 US aircraft attacked a Soviet airfield and destroyed aircobras the the USSR has from lendlease…
here’s a source…but the whole story is far deeper that these silly “accident” stories.

Thanks. I used the info you supplied and found a detailed description.
Why did the Korean War break out in 1950?
http://www.johndclare.net/EC5.htm
“Summary
The Korean War was an episode in the Cold War. It seemed to be a war between South and North Korea, but America and Russia were using it to fight without having a ‘hot war’.
The USA went to war in Korea for three reasons. The first reason was the ‘Domino theory’ – China turned Communist in 1949 and Truman feared that the next ‘domino’ would be Japan. The second was to undermine Communism and protect the American way of life – in 1950 the American National Security Council recommended that America start ‘rolling back’ Communism. Thirdly, Truman realised the USA was in a competition for world domination with the USSR.
Russia went to war because Stalin wanted Communism to grow. In 1949, Kim Il Sung persuaded Stalin and Mao Tse Tung to support an invasion of South Korea.
In 1950, Syngman Rhee threatened to attack North Korea. It was an excuse – the trigger for war: the NKPA invaded South Korea”
How then explain I F Stone’s account by eye witnesses that SK invaded NK first…blurted out to MacArthur in Toyko office while newsman was interviewing Mac??
Then WHY can not you point out a reputable website for such account?
This is not your 1962 war on the Indian Chinese border that one can make a black out of fact of white.
Mod Note: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I._F._Stone
Read wiki, as Mod has kindly given the url, but in fact (and there is surely no reason to capitalize “why”) I did give a reputable source myself…and so has Mod, so I obviously “can”, I did.
have you had time to read I F Stone’s book already?
excerpt from wiki (which is as mild and apologetic as it could be)
“…In The Hidden History of the Korean War, 1950–51, Stone contended that South Korea had provoked North Korea to war by way of continual guerrilla attacks across the border (38th parallel) into the north of Korea, and that, thus goaded, the North Koreans eventually counterattacked the South providing the official casus belli (June 25, 1950) required for Korean reunification. Stone said that such cross-border attacks, authorized by the South Korean government, were part of the U.S. foreign policy for the worldwide containment of communism, advocated by John Foster Dulles, realized in the field by General Douglas MacArthur, U.S. commander in the Pacific Ocean military theatre, and countenanced by Syngman Rhee, the strongman President of South Korea….”
Read, then form opinion, otherwise no wise…
Is Marx, get facts first, Comrade. Everyone comes, in the end, to Science. Some sooner. And of course Truth is essential to Victory, as El Commandante has shown
No thanks, I have no interest to be your comrade. Find your Hindu nationalists and they are your true Comrade.
Well, according to historical precedence of Soviet Union and Stalin, any one with any critical thinking skill would question I F Stone’s account in perspective of time and scope.
Here is https://www.britannica.com/event/Korean-War
…
“In their hurried effort to disarm the Japanese army and repatriate the Japanese population in Korea (estimated at 700,000), the United States and the Soviet Union agreed in August 1945 to divide the country for administrative purposes at the 38th parallel (latitude 38° N). At least from the American perspective, this geographic division was a temporary expedient; however, the Soviets began a short-lived reign of terror in northern Korea that quickly politicized the division by driving thousands of refugees south. The two sides could not agree on a formula that would produce a unified Korea, and in 1947 U.S. President Harry S. Truman persuaded the United Nations (UN) to assume responsibility for the country, though the U.S. military remained nominally in control of the South until 1948. Both the South Korean national police and the constabulary doubled in size, providing a southern security force of about 80,000 by 1947. In the meantime, Kim Il-sung strengthened his control over the Communist Party as well as the northern administrative structure and military forces. In 1948 the North Korean military and police numbered about 100,000, reinforced by a group of southern Korean guerrillas based at Haeju in western Korea.
The creation of an independent South Korea became UN policy in early 1948. Southern communists opposed this, and by autumn partisan warfare had engulfed parts of every Korean province below the 38th parallel. The fighting expanded into a limited border war between the South’s newly formed Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) and the North Korean border constabulary as well as the North’s Korean People’s Army (KPA). The North launched 10 cross-border guerrilla incursions in order to draw ROKA units away from their guerrilla-suppression campaign in the South.” …
Sad to see Russia’s friends refusing to face reality no matter what. Russia is a vassal of the hegemon. Justice plays no role in Russian policy making.
Much of the world would have applauded had Russia and China stood up reasonably to the hegemon, because of the US’ recent display of brute arrogance at the UN. How pathetic what they chose to do appears. That makes it look even more pathetic is that the hegemon continues to hit Russia with more and more severe ‘sanctions’ (really acts of war) – so today Russia complains about unreasonable US sanctions and then helps the US hit another, smaller nation with unreasonable sanctions tomorrow.
There is no polite word for what Russia has ultimately become, geopolitically, under the guidance of Putin.
Paul, your drivel is superb. I always enjoy the absolute depth of its shallowness. You have raised to an art form the preposterous.
As any armchair wizard of world events knows, ignorance is the path to expertise.
The drivel is excellent.
Mats, perhaps it’s better to tell why it’s drivel and shallow, instead of an ad hominem attack.
c
I don’t recall seeing comments by you previously on this site under that nick. Yet here you are already arrogantly making demands of other commenters and pompously playing net nanny like you owned the place.
Now what group of well known web personages does that? :-D
Hahaha… You made me smile vot tak. It shows the level of respondents here.
Merry Christmas to you too!
Well said, Mats.
Cheers.
This may be the truth, but most importantly it seems that the Russia falls pray as a result of an attempt to participate in the World events like Olympics, Football Championships.
May I bring back the memories of:
Sochi Olympics -> Maidan
Next Year’s Olympics and Football Championships -> the US Embassy Row, threats to DPRK, Iran, .. and the list goes on. Russia is looking at losing tens of $Billions.
Besides, the new sanctions on DPRK are as good as nothing, they can’t be enforced, although the cross border activities will be monitored by the hegemon, or at least attempted.
Never mind China, they will never do anything because of their greed, to many $Trillions.
Wake up Russia. Wake up China. Are you so naive when believing US is now satisfied and doesn’t want to push further? Let’s not forget how Stalin foolishly was thinking M-R pact could keep Nazis out of Motherland. At the end the price of victory was horrible and USA had marched in Europe.
Russia has feelings of trust or affection felt in certain cases of kidnapping or hostage-taking by a victim toward a captor
Stockholm Syndrome says it all!
First of all all these Russia these and Chinese that…. is getting me worked up somehow. Russia has every right to sanction DPRK and the same with China. Does Kim inform Putin or Xi about his plans before carrying them out? or does he act in the interest of Russia or China? So why should they not sanction him when he does something they don’t like? I just can’t understand why people think Russia and China should back DPRK every single time @ d UNSC.
As for anyone who thinks Kim is a puppet or satrap or whatever of the CIA, I suggest the person looks at Cuba and the late Fidel Castro.
Exactly,
Had Kims talk to China, China would have say lets build a road to south and make your people filthy rich. Instead Kims prefer the free hand outs and provoking wars that will cost unspeakable amount of lives include our own children. Why should Chinese support his actions? Why China should not condemn him?
It occurred to me that, during his campaign, Trump talked about limiting the US support of the UN and declared NATO obsolete. He didn’t say it just once but reiterated it several times, like here:
https://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/04/02/donald-trump-tells-crowd-hed-be-fine-if-nato-broke-up/
Apparently, this is a done deal: he’s already demanded that NATO countries pay their “fair share” by increasing their participation and… he just slashed the UN budget.
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-25/us-slashes-united-nations-budget-285-million-following-stunning-jerusalem-rebuke
One cannot stop but think that it was planned all along…
What better way to do it than concoct some pretext he knew in advance to result in a vote against the US? Any moron would have known that his Jerusalem declaration was going to be so unpopular worldwide that attaching to it a threat of slashing down the UN budget would make it… unavoidable!
Nothing happens randomly or by coincidence. We’re looking at well-orchestrated scheme to cut down on US expenses. What’s next? Closing our bases worldwide and bringing our military back home?
Worth pondering…
This vote is readily explained by the politics of enlightened self interest. It is not in the national interest of China or Russia to allow North Korea to have a massive nuclear weapons program.
__________
China: Today NK is a very limited threat to the U.S. They have bombs that need further development before being warheads (miniaturization and G-load launch & flight resilience). And, liquid fueled missiles that can be destroyed pre-launch. On the other hand, current bombs could be put on a plane, ship, or truck and be smuggled into China for immediate use. China needs the number of NK devices as small as possible so they can keep track of every one of them.
Also, China gained by Obama’s appeasement payments to NK that were then used to buy goods from China. Without the appeasement cash flows, it is in China’s interests to direct NK spending away from nukes and to Chinese goods.
_______________
Russia: Putin is playing the long game. Currently, Russia is keeping its Chechnya problem in check by installing a strong regional leader and exporting hard cases such as the Boston bombing, Tsarnaev brothers. Ultimately, this is not a permanent solution. When the next flare up happens, Chechen terrorists with rogue nukes would be a threat to the homeland.
Putin is also playing a short game. Iran and Russia are having a quiet struggle for influence in the Middle East. Russia’s draw down in Syria diminished Iran by stripping advanced air defenses (e.g. S-400) it wanted for its proxy militia offensive into Israel. Along the same lines — Slower NK missile development = Slower Iranian missile development = More influence for Putin.
I have to give Putin credit where it is due. He is delivering a master class in how to wield political influence.
” Russia’s draw down in Syria diminished Iran by stripping advanced air defenses (e.g. S-400) it wanted for its proxy militia offensive into Israel.”
Can you provide some evidence for this?
Have the Iranian proxy forces, Hezbollah, launched their planned offensive into Isreal? I think it is fairly clear that they have not…….
The proof is self evident in that Iran did not launch their attack.
Why would Hezbollah launch attack on Israel while even Russian/Iran/Syrian can not fight Israel? Are you a Zionist troll?
You are a smart cookie J. :-)
To answer the last question, those with nukes have power over those without nukes. Those with power never give it up or allow it to be diluted voluntarily. There is a very good chance the that the conflict between Israel and Palestinians would have been resolved peacefully long time ago if Palestinians had nukes to force Israel to negotiate in good faith. Of course there is the real danger of widely available nukes falling into the hands of truly irresponsible state of non-state actors, which could be a problem. It’s hard to know what the right answer is, but it’s clear that those who have nukes prefer the status quo.
Sanctions… never… work. Period. And, they hurt the common people, not the elite.
China and Russia might not like the ‘madman’ in NK, but he is consistent, and rational. The US waged a horrendous war in the fifties on NK and in fact are still at war with them, because the US refuses to sign a peace deal.
NK feels threatened by the exercises conducted by the US and SK. And who could blame them?
In light of this, it’s paramount that in order for NK to stop becoming a nuclear power, they need to persuade/demand the US/SK/Japan to sign peace deals, stop exercising, etc.
Even if Russia and China do not like KJU, the question remains: why Russia and China did not stick to the double freeze plan? (I.e. only support sanctions, if and only if US/SK/Japan would halt their exercises).
sanctions is why Japan did PH.
that’s what they are for.
Kim is smarter than Togo…he will not do a PH.
He’s forcing Empire to do it…with obvious results. It is Empire that is freaking out, while we see Kim’s Mona Lisa Smile…we are waiting for Empire to attack. Naturally this must be preceded by some sort of FFA (false flag attack, “better’n 911?” ? Maybe…))
A useful reference article on the history of american nuclear weapons deployments to s. korea, with detail on types and numbers. It ends with rebuttal to arguments promoting a return of u.s. nuclear weapon deployments to the peninsula.
As the zionazi quisling trump regime is no doubt harboring such a deployment, more to threaten Russian and China with a first strike, this nonsense needs to be acknowledged and killed now.
A History of US Nuclear Weapons in South Korea
https://www.globalresearch.ca/a-history-of-us-nuclear-weapons-in-south-korea/5623878
If one looks at the aggressive behaviour of the israeloamericans against DPRK in the wider context of geostrategy, it is clear the original american, and current israeloamerican aggression, was/is using a conflict in Korea as a vector to get at both the PRC, which had just routed america’s fascist colonials by 1949, prior to the American/proxy attack in 1950 on the North, and Russia/USSR.
Those early gadgets were heavy and awkward, and the US military fought with the AEC, which owned them, over possession. One gadget went through a crash on take-off from Susun Field, now Travis AFB near San Francisco Bay. The aircraft, a B-29, burned, being an aircraft full of gasoline. The gadget did not detonate (or Susun marsh would have been blasted away). His excellency General Travis died in the burn. Or so I remember. The gadget and the aircraft were going to Korea… Stuff happens. B 29 has engines that tended to self-immolate and which were of magnesium – a flammable metal well known to first year chemistry students as suitable for fun and games…
I believe that the empire had about 12 gadgets in Korea at one point in the 1950-53 period.
Vot tak is precisely correct, I believe. I appreciate also the link to the history, Thanks.
Has anyone ever considered that North Korea serves the same purpose to China as the Donbass to Russia. North Korea is a buffer state between China and the puppet states of the Empire. The Donbass also serves as a buffer between Russia and the Anglo-American-Zionist colonies. Much of the Empire’s time and energy is redirected to the border states instead of on China and Russia.
China would never allow a united Korea unless it is done on China’s terms. If allowed to happen, there would no longer be a reason for foreign troops to be stationed in South Korea. This is something the Anglo-American-Zionist elites would never accept. A strong, united Korea would also mean unwanted economic competition for Japan. Therefore, Japan wants two weakened Koreas held in a constant state of tension.
I once heard Jim Willie contend that North Korea is a large exporter of hard drugs such as opiates – Thus competing directly with the CIA. US intelligence agencies would love to invade North Korea to eliminate the competition. The presence of abundant raw materials is an added incentive.
China would never allow North Korea to be invaded, so what is the point of the Empire constantly talking about war? Should Russia or China invade Mexico? Why then, would China allow the Empire to attack a country resting on its border? Is all of the anti-North Korea rhetoric a way to distract the American people from more important issues? If so, then why haven’t the Western elites already figured out that most Americans automatically tune out any talk about Korea? News about North Korea? *Yawn* . Change the channel, please.
I remember that Russia is nomore part if UNSC, it is corrupt wester coalitions and established after nazi Germany…you really think they do anything that US doesnt want..? Sactions, war and any kind of blackmailing after agenda 21(agenda 2030). They keep this “nightmare” show going. I think.
Russia and china dont want powerful self-reliant Dprk..Thats why they voted in support of sanctions
NK is not a self reliant state. NK is a state control by a crazy man who has no regard to any one and demands handouts. Why would anyone want it.
If it had pursued road of conciliation with SK, it had far more chance of being self reliant, strong state. Right now, it is a mouse that roars.
“… NK is not a self reliant state. NK is a state control by a crazy man … … …” etc., etc..
That is exactly what the U.S. MSM propaganda make its sheeple believe.

They say that Mr Kim and NK are about to launch a orbiting machine, early warning, or whatever, it puts them firmly inside the club…

Now what might tweetybird T man do about it?
Kim tough fella.
I bet most, if not all the people are training in China for free…
Today they claim Ch is passing oil at sea…
This quote seems ok to post, a fragment under fair use –
“December 26, 2017 11:22 U.S. reconnaissance satellites have spotted Chinese ships selling oil to North Korean vessels on the West Sea around 30 times since October.”
Of course there are pictures of tankers, but we have no diea if these are from recent times, or even imaginary constructs… The point is that they say it now…today. That’s interesting.

Not coincidence. All regurgitated disinfo repackaged & re-peddled to the sheep, or just invented made up facts. All timed for something close now.
Like this story, from near 30 years on now, but magically now it is ‘declassified’ & breathlessly peddled by the beeb:

Tiananmen Square protest death toll ‘was 10,000’
The Chinese army crackdown on the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests killed at least 10,000 people, according to newly-released UK documents.
The figure was given in a secret diplomatic cable from then British ambassador to China, Alan Donald.
The original source was a friend of a member of China’s State Council, the envoy says.
Previous estimates of the deaths in the pro-democracy protests ranged from several hundred to more than 1,000.
Not aligned with my tastes, but really interesting site with a large historical component dealing with deception and propaganda in War…
As the oil taker pictures seem to fit into the genre, so to speak.
Take time to look, great images too.

forgot to add…
People say crazy things, sometimes, like this: “…The meeting took place on October 20, meaning March 20 would be the outside window for the war to begin, although Rickards says “the war will likely begin before then.” ”

Perhaps the oil transfer story feed the media set that is psycops for war/attack
Obviously, and it’s probably really driven by the gold yuan/oil mater, mostly. OBOR too, as they are part of one policy…
But on the magnanimous side, Mr T. did at least leave Kimmy off this seasons greetings list.

now what Bat Man?
Man Oh Man! Magical thinking…what can go wrong?
If war criminal Margaret Thather the witch of UK could say that her puny ((borrowed nuke from America called ) Polaris would reduce Russia to to ashes and make russia think twice about attack and when the whole british populace rejoiced at her saying that she would attack Russia with nukes (especially when Russia had Missiles which on combat alert reached their largest number in 1985 (2,500 missiles, including 1,398 ICBMs). At the same time, the largest number of warheads on combat alert was registered in 1986 (10,300).); then what right the anglosaxon cabal have to criticize north korea for saying that she will retort on kind if attacked ?
what double standard is here if a tiny country relies on the only deterrancce that bullying power would understand ?
If war criminal Margaret that her of UK could justify borrowing the then Polaris and trident missile from us because even “small nuke acts as bigger deterrance than whole army according to that evil woman then why is North Korea not justified in having own nuke rather unlike the stolen one of UK?
Again when that puny so.an threatens to.bomb much greater power Russia then the whole media and populace cheered her up.
What is good for UK ‘s borrowed nuke is good enoughmore for norrth Korean nukes.
If China opposes North Korea then
Then China will have deserved what is coming her way from the west.
Same for Russia.
Betraying allies to please arch enemies is loser way practised by Russia and china
you should try to place in the shoes of North Koreans that are constantly threatened by a country that has shown such an unfair and aggressive behavior as to invent ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction’ in Iraq just to restore the US$ as unique oil settlements, as to demonize Gaddafi just because he was leading Africa to its political and economic independence, to sow hatred in Ukraine for the sake of attacking Russia, as to wage a Proxy Army of Fundamentalist Islamists just to overthrow the legitimate Government of Syria, as to support any brutal and bloody dictator if he is subservient enough, as to stage Terrorism in allied countries such as Gladio Operation in Europe for the sake of blaming it on socialist people, and so on.
With such background, it turns out to be pretty insane not to develop enough deterrence in order to prevent Pindostan from invading North Korea.

The UN is not merely debilitated and useless as the the League of Nations was, but actually nefarious, as it stands today usurped to the core by the very parasite it is supposed to combat. It became under American dictate all too eager to stifle and coerce rather than investigate or conciliate. UNSC doesn’t seem in hurry to address the brutal CIA dictatorship in Honduras or the 2014 American annexation of Kiev, to cite but a few examples or saudi attack for years on yemen and on Bahrani shias.
Russia has betrayed her ally again as was intended by the enenies of russia to show the world that in any war rusdia is an unreliable partner and thus must be left alone yo fight her war.
Russia is really isolted because of her folly and her too clever by half tactics to sacrifice her allies to please her enemies.
Not for nithing has russia been attacked so many times
Disban UNO now@
The UN is nothing but a useful good for the US to vilify nations that are not vassal states of the US and to provide legitimacy for the war crimes of the US and its vassal and puppet states. The UN lost all credibility and is a useless organization (except for as a US tool) that needs to be disbanded; the sooner the better.
As it is, the UN is unfit for purpose, either pushing the US agenda as here or in regards to North Korea and Ukraine, or doing absolutely nothing e.g. in regards to the crimes of the uk/ US and Israel.
Kick UNO. UN has lost its legitimacy. It always interferes only when western terrorists are in dire straight. It has allowed saudis to attack yemen with impunity. Putin is stupid traitor to still talk about supporting UN.

Sergei Mikheev believes that North Korea “teaches a lesson to the whole world.”
“This small country, that in fact does not have large and unambiguously reliable allies, has made its stake on hard power and it has showed for the whole world that the Americans also have a limit of strength .
Quote
“Kim, get more ICBM and Hydrogen and Neutron bombs otherwise your anglosaxon enemies and freinds like russia and china will destroy your country like iraq syria libya yemen etc.”
Treacherous Russia –

Russian treachery against her allies like north korea ,syrua ,libya, iraq and iran where russia helped anglos to impose sanctions through UNSC.

The syndicate of organized crime called US government, this collection of thugs and racketeers, is unable to stop North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs. For DPRk these programs demonstrate the will of a people to maintain its soverenty rather than become another vassal NWO state. For the American gangsters DPRK’s programs represent the raison d’être to maintain Military bases in South Korea, as well as in Guam and Okinawa Japan. But the real reason for the provocations and belicosity of the American reckless cowboys is the so called ” protection” of the “Freedom of Navigation” in the South and East China Sea, as the increased frequency of “accidents” of the US Pacific fleet has demonstrated. In other words China.

Some interesting points:
The Korean state is 3250 years old.
They had book printing 320 years before Gutenberg.
Luxury jeeps on the streets of Pyongyang suggest the country is not as poor as people say.
Info about and footage of Kim’s pretty, pop-star wife
Russian population centers of Vladivostok and Hassan are a few miles away – if war comes to N. Korea, particularly nuclear war, it will be a disaster for Russia too.
North and South Koreans think of themselves as one nation, one race, and both are fiercely nationalistic and look down on other races. The two countries are much closer emotionally than people in the West realize. Foreigners are enemies in North and South alike.
N. Korea has a complex caste system which is officially supported. It has 51 castes.
N. Korea abandoned Marxism in the 1970s!
Why the energy embargo won’t hurt the North much (they have plenty of coal)
A look inside a typical Korean apartment.
Government decisions are made collectively – it is not an autocracy headed by Kim.
Government and army extremely rational in their behavior.
A very tough, united people prepared to fight for their lives. No 5th column. People trained for nuclear war, not intimidated by it.
N. Korea has diplomatic relations with 161 nations, but not with US.
N. Koreans are ready to fight, and not afraid of war. Impossible to bring this proud people to their knees.
Russia and china always betray their allies in order to please their anglisaxon enemies.
That will come to bite them both very soon.
Anglos are laughing at russian and chinese cowardiness and treachery against own allies.
