Note: I regularly post columns by guest authors with whom I do not agree. This is also the case today. First, I believe that Paul Schmutz Shaller has mistakenly attributed to Paul Craig Roberts the opinions of Iben Thranholm (see full video here). He also misunderstood the use (not by PCR but by Russia Insider who created the title!) of the word “pussy” in the title which refers to the meaning of the word as “weak, cowardly”. Second, he overlooked the historical context for this interview: 2016 when women *were* regularly attacked and the locals did nothing (whereas in Russia a similar situation was immediately tackled by locals men). Finally, just one look at EU politicians (say, like Heiko Maas or the five female Defense Ministers) is enough see that the feminization of EU politics is a reality. And I won’t even mention the constant badgering of Russian officials, including Foreign Minister Lavrov and President Putin, about the alleged “persecution” of homosexuals in Russia (a total lie) which made the Russians wonder whether Europeans have any interests at all in Russia besides the welfare of Russian homosexuals. Still, Paul Craig Roberts’ article did shock or offend quite a few readers, thus Paul Schmutz Schaller’s column probably represents the reaction of other readers and this is why I decided to publish it today. In the near future I hope to tackle this issues in a column of my own (my previous take on this was in faraway 2014 when I wrote “The West: the most sexually dysfunctional society on the planet“). One more thing: the moderators did, indeed, intercept Paul’s comment and I agreed with them: he had clearly misunderstood PCR’s points and unjustly accused him of contempt for women. I still stand by my decision. You can see the original comment in the annex below, leaving each person the option to decide whether the rejection of this comment was justified or not.
The Saker
On Red Lines and Core Interests
by Paul Schmutz Schaller for The Saker Blog
PART I
Recently, the concept of red lines has become trending in world politics. In his recent Annual Address to the Federal Assembly (April 21) Putin said: „At the same time, I just have to make it clear, we have enough patience, responsibility, professionalism, self-confidence and certainty in our cause, as well as common sense, when making a decision of any kind. But I hope that no one will think about crossing the “red line” with regard to Russia. We ourselves will determine in each specific case where it will be drawn.“
As far as I know, Xi was (and is) the first Chinese leader who spoke of „core interests“. It is even possible that Xi is the first political leader in the world who created the concept that countries, in their mutual relation, should respect the core interests of the other side. By the way, in his address, Putin also used this term: „Those behind provocations that threaten the core interests of our security will regret what they have done in a way they have not regretted anything for a long time.“
In this article, I will however talk about individual red lines and core interests. Obviously, every individual has core interests and red lines. Very often, the individuals – like the countries, by the way – are not conscious which are their core interests and red lines. Generally speaking, it is an important achievement when somebody is able to explain his or her core interests and red lines. This helps his or her environment a lot. Take the Saker Blog as an example. One may say that in the section „Saker’s values“, you will find the core interests of the Saker while in the section „Moderation Policy“, the red lines of the blog are stated.
For quite some time, I have tried to define my core interests. I found the values autonomy, humility, perseverance, and positivity. This I not just a mental idea. In some sense, this is the quintessence of my life. In other words, you cannot mentally decide your core interests, you rather may discover them. It is your life which imposes your core interests and red lines. By the way, for countries, it is more or less the same thing. It is the history that indicates the core interests.
PART II
On May 5, the article „The Feminization of Western Men“, by Paul Craig Roberts, was published on the Saker Blog (meanwhile, the article has also appeared on The Unz Review). I was shocked by this article. A great many of my red lines were crossed. For me, this article was so bad that I had difficulties in order the figure out which were the main points that shocked me.
I think that the first point is „US arrogance“. This is closely related to my core interest of humility. I have the conviction that US citizens (like Roberts) – or people who live in the USA – have to be very careful when they criticize other countries. Or people living in Western countries (which were colonial powers) have to be cautious when criticizing countries in the global South. Or somebody like Israel Shamir has to be very prudent when criticizing Palestinians.
You cannot abstract from the country and the culture where you live. When Roberts criticizes European people and countries – and he does this in a disgusting and even racist manner – then this is at once taken as the typical behavior of US hegemonists, even when Roberts claims that he is against US hegemony. By the way, the Iranians speak of the US arrogance in the same manner as I do.
The second point is the relation between men and women. The article despises women in a way that is completely unacceptable. By reducing the identity of women to „pussies“, women are clearly defined as purely sexual objects. This is just shameful. Again, my outrage obviously relies on my core interest of humility.
A third point is how the article describes the concrete situation in Europe. This is just completely ridiculous, for example: „All over Europe white women […] are raped openly in public.“ Come on. This is as far from reality as Biden’s government view of the world situation. By the way, why Russians do not violently protest against the article’s description, in view of the fact that Russia also is part of Europe?
I could go further, but I think that this is enough in order to illustrate that this article has crossed my red lines in an unacceptable way.
PART III
On the Saker Blog, different and often controversial ideas are expressed. This is a great strength of the Saker Blog which I appreciate very much. On the other hand, the biggest problem of the Saker Blog – in my eyes – is the fact that there is often a lack of mutual respect. This is a pity. People who write and comment on the Saker Blog should develop a better understanding of the fact that everybody has some red lines.
For example, religion, more precisely orthodox Christianity, is obviously crucial for the Saker. In general, everybody respects this and this is very positive. Recently, he published a short text on Holy Paskha. I read the text, but it left me completely unimpressed (I am not a Christian). Nevertheless, I found it interesting. I may add that for me, the question of mutual respect is as serious as a religious conviction – or religious faith, if you prefer.
However, it is not by accident that the article of Roberts cited above appeared on the Saker Blog. The Saker has written some similar things. He often speaks of European countries (Russia excluded) in a way that lacks respect. And concerning women, I remember that the Saker wrote (December 15, 2020): „Harris (a call girl who made it into politics ‚horizontally‘)“. Here, one also sees the reduction of women to sexual objects, with no brain.
Ok, I knew this, and I accepted it. People have different points of view. And of course, this is the Saker’s Blog and he can write what he wants.
But, and this is really the point, I wrote a comment to the above-cited article of Roberts – see annex – and my comment was not published. Obviously, my comment did much, much less violate the Saker’s moderation policy than the article of Roberts did. Therefore, in my eyes, the decision of not publishing my comment was a typical example of a double standard or of „what is good for the goose is not good for the gander“. I immediately realized that I could no longer support the Saker Blog. I am not the kind of „turn the other cheek“; by the way, I never understood the deep meaning of this principle.
In August 2019, my first article for the Saker Blog was published. I was really proud. Since then, 20 other articles of me were published and I am truly very thankful to the Saker and to the whole team.
This one is thus my last article. Of course, this is much more a problem for me than for you since I have to find some new meanings of life. You may ask why I wrote this article. Good question. But what was the alternative? Only write to the Saker? I found no argument in favor of this solution. No reaction at all, just stop to submit articles and comments to the Saker Blog. This was my first idea. But I rejected it as too cowardly. So, this article arose. This solution has also some obvious shortcomings, but I found no better one.
ANNEXE
This was my comment to the article of Roberts, posted on May 5, at around 13h00 CET, one hour after the publication of the article; the blog immediately gave the usual reply that my comment was under consideration, the blog has thus received my comment. I had really no more time to write since I had to leave for an invitation but decided that it was more important to quickly post my comment.
„Here, one can see an old man expressing his hate. This article is really bad. It is quite difficult to identify the most important shortcomings.
The author is a US citizen. He thinks that this gives him the right to spit on Europeans, more precisely on people of Germany, France, Italy, the UK, and Scandinavia. No, of course, he has not this right. Most people in Germany would be horrified by treating Merkel as scum, most people in France would be horrified by treating their governments as corrupt, and the author’s remarks on Italians and British are simply racist, and I do not intend to humiliate myself by repeating them here.
The author speaks of men and women. Obviously, he thinks that men have some values such as „strength“and „confidence“. He also speaks of the „obligations“ of men to women, in particular protection. The author leaves the question open whether women also have values and some obligations (against men). But one can guess that for him, women have no values and no obligations since most (European) men are now gay are women (according to the author), hence – one concludes – without values and without obligations.
The author sees most (European) men as pussies that is, as sexual organs of women. This is not so far away from saying that women have no brains. However, the author does not show much brain in this article, I must say.
I am sorry, I have no more time for analyzing this concoction.“
————————
Paul Schmutz Shaller:
As for the Annex comment: It is an opinion, an observation. It may be negative toward PCR, but it is not so bad, other than labelling PCR as an old man expressing his hate. Very unkind, but passable. PCR has calluses, I am sure.
That statement is a bit over the top. I don’t see PCR as hateful. He may be pissed off and angry, rightly so, because if you are not PO’d and angry you must be brain dead in today’s reality.
As for critiquing Saker on any issue (such as Orthodoxy or gender issues) it is an avenue worth avoiding.
As for redlines, so what if you have redlines? You come to the Vineyard with sensitivities and expect people to take care of your tender spots?
This is a salon of rough and tumble, not your living room. You come here, we don’t visit your home.
Your redlines are your business. Don’t go where you might be insulted or transgressed.
I have posted thousands of comments on the Vineyard. Each one opened me up to criticism from anyone in the world. I knew that. I am personally shielded by using a persona/avatar. What I require of myself is a high logic, a precise prose and some new insights that people might find interesting or intriguing. If they find holes in my argument or inaccuracies, I accept their critiques and usually thank corrections if accurate.
If you lead with your chin, you’ll probably get a knock or two on it.
The Vineyard has one person’s redlines to watch out for—Saker’s.
Otherwise, we would have 12,000-50,000 sets of redlines to tend to depending on the article.
God help us if the sensitivities and sensibilities of everyone have relevance. The articles have relevance (or not), but the authors are incidental.
When I submit an article, I understand I stand exposed to all forms of critique. But the thing that matters is the theme, content, facts I offer in the article, not that I wrote it.
So let’s all learn to challenge the ideas and facts, not the author, if we disagree.
Amen to that. Expressing opinions is not disrespect. When you express your opinion in public, having a cafe with a friend, or in this forum, you open yourself to confronting opinions. Respect mean that you respect the opinion of other, although you disagree. That should go between people or countries in my opinion. Trying to force others to mimic your opinion or redline, is the opposite of respect.
‘The author leaves the question open whether women also have values and some obligations (against men).’
As does the author of this article. In fact, it leaves open the question of whether women have any responsibility of any kind whatsoever for perceptions such as those expressed in the referenced article among many others. PCR is certainly not alone in his perceptions of western societal emasculation and of feminist agency in that context. It may be unwitting agency at least in terms of ultimate consequences, but it hardly seems unwilling.
I really like Saker. I learn a lot about geopolitics on your website. There are brilliant commentators. I don’t learn anything about religion, because I know more about religion and our Eternal Father than the people on this site. I don’t learn anything against gays on this site because I know a lot more about gays than the people who write on that site. I’m not modest, sorry. But your text, Mr. Schmutz Shaller is fantastic, really, really good. Don’t go away like that. Mr. Saker, owner of a big heart will certainly not allow it and we, the readers, will continue to enrich ourselves a lot.

“When Roberts criticizes European people and countries – and he does this in a disgusting and even racist manner – …”.
I am afraid not. Such a statement cannot be accepted. As I have written before, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts is an excellent analyst, especially when it comes to NATO, the US and EU. However, he does occasionally make exaggerations, especially when it comes to the Russian Government and it’s “sleepy” reactions to American provocations and aspirations.
In his last article, titled “The Feminization of Western Men”, Dr. Roberts said it as it is. He invented nothing, although I cannot accept his statement that Western women are raped in broad daylight for all to see, although they are certainly assaulted in broad daylight, with rape being a covert act.
After 1945 Europe has become a victim of globalist cultural and ethnic genocide. This genocide was gradually introduced and backed by the EU, created for such a purpose. European cultures have been subverted by promotion of pervasions such as homosexuality, lesbianism, feminism, multiculturalism, transgenderism, etc. When I was a kid going to school, nobody would have dared to openly promote such things, which were given inertia from the late 1960’s and 1970’s onward.
What are the globalists doing ? They are destroying the European family and the European nation state. You destroy the family, you also destroy the state. This process has been aided by multiculturalism, political correctness and the highly suspicious aiding and abetting of mass immigration into Europe of false “migrants” and “refugees”. Merkel was bullied into accepting – officially – one million “refugees”, while unofficially the number is two million, which will cost Germany billions. These “refugees” are nothing more than an invading army armed with fake passports instead of weapons. Among these holders of Syrian passports you will find Moroccans, Algerians, people from Bangladesh and Afghanistan, etc. Their aggressive behavior upon arriving in Germany is well known, shown on the internet (not just articles, but plenty of videos).
What is shocking is the passive reaction of European politicians, who were either bought or bullied into submission, and who pretend that nothing is happening, or if it is, then it has been grossly “exaggerated”. Quite a large segment of the native European population has been brought into this submissive position, no doubt scared of being labelled ‘racists’ if they dared complain.
Sweden is an example of what happens when you both buy and bully the elite, the politicians, media owners and Government employees. The country has been reduced to a banana entity, being openly subverted by foreign factors for foreign interests. Native Swedes will in less than two generations become a minority in their own country, courtesy of the globalist Agenda and it’s task of destroying sovereign nation states. The country has years ago become the rape capital of Europe – courtesy of immigrants – and it has at least 55 no-go zones, where event the police dare not go alone.
France is following, as is Belgium and others. Europe is being asked to become a multicultural continent, yet in Saudi Arabia you can be executed if you insult Islam or if you leave the Muslim faith ? By the way, how many churches and cathedrals will you find in Saudi Arabia ? Is multiculturalism being promoted in the Muslim world ? I think not.
About six years ago, a Polish website stated that if current European immigration policies are not reversed, then the entire native population of Europe will end up in Russia. This is not as fantastic as it may sound, bearing in mind the increasing size of the Muslim population in Europe, it’s refusal to assimilate (as if such a thing is possible), and it’s radical views on Europe and Christianity, hating everything that is Christian. The population of native Europeans, on the other hand, is shrinking, courtesy of globalists and their promotion of feminism and other pervasions.
Does Western Europe have any future ? We shall see.
Not in my lifetime will ‘Europe’ cease to be Europe, they won’t, but then I’m old and feeling it tonight as I get ready for the big parade Sunday. However, I do lay the destruction of Alte Deutschland squarely at the feet of Merkel, she who hates everything German and in my opinion openly shows this hatred and has always shown it.

Dear Leo, by your avatar I can’t tell in what country you’re living – but it certainly isn’t Sweden. Your talk of “Sweden’s 55 no-go zones” is a total exaggeration and your idea that native Swedes will become a minority in Sweden within two generations is built on ludicrous calculations. There are a lot in Sweden that is cause for concern – not least it’s becoming a US vassal, but please try to be more balanced and factual.
Orjan APPELQVIST
Dear Orjan, you are not the first Swede who has gone against me, both on this website and others. However, others have backed me up.
For years I have corresponded with Norwegians and Swedes, and partially with Danes. I have a pretty clear picture of Scandinavia, even though I never visited a single Scandinavian country. As one Norwegian personally told me, “Sweden is finished”.
Currently the death rate of native Swedes is higher than the birth rate, courtesy of globalists, who have taught your girls how to become feminists (yes, they love being feminists when they are young a beautiful, but regret it when they become old and abandoned, with no family and kids).
The birth rate of immigrants from Muslim countries is the highest in Sweden. On top of that you have to add continued immigration into the country, which I find amazing. More than one analyst has stated that native Swedes will become a minority in less than two generations, or in about two generations. I am afraid this is a fact. As for those 55 no-go zones, they too are a fact. Who is throwing those hand grenades in Sweden, and who is planting bombs and burning cars ? Native Swedes ? As for cases of rape, they have been too well documented and reported not to be taken seriously. And why are the Swedish police now forbidden from publishing rape and crime statistics ? And finally, how many native Swedes have in the past 10-15 years emigrated to the US, Canada and Australia ? Why ?
I will send out a thaught, it may be correct, or it may be wrong. It is ment for discussion. It is maximum political un-correct, but it is indeed that very big white elephant in the european livingroom. Beeing such, I will just make a short message in Norwegian to those official enteties monitoring this site.
Neida PST/NSM, jeg er ikke iferd med å tippe over, impulskontrollen er helt iorden, dette er kun for diskusjonens del. I værste fall får dere komme en tur inn på tunet for kaffe og kjeks.
I have worked 25 years with concerts, touring, events and TV and shit like that. One of my worst gigs was – I understood too late- the official funeral after what we i Norway just call ‘the terrorist’. Breivik. I remember standing up there in ‘the technical roof’ of the venue, seeing parents having a total breakdown during a direct sendt transmission. I think it was seventy-something he sendt to a far too early death. He will never get out.
I do not cordone such acts. At all. I have been stupid enough to have almost killed myself several times, with tractors, winches, chainsaws and whathaveyou….. but if the Lord indeed do have a plan, the preservation of life, is surely a part of it.
But. What should be noted, is that the terrorist did not target the immigrants themself. He targeted the ‘state-bearing’ political party, and their youth-broiler-factory. And such as it is- his brutal methodes aside- his analysis is, as I can see it, impeccable. Thats the problem. His very revolting acts, has made the issue…. a non issue. Tabu.
The Norwegian state-bearing party is fully incorporated in Caudenhove Calergi’s plan for the total dismantling of the ancient european cultures. Our problems is more sentered around how to keep people occupied in the future, and still uneducated, non-compatible folks are imported on an industrial scale.
These thaughts are now considerd to be right wing. I however am not right wing. I have been around the planet enough to really be grateful for my Norwegian passport, and I have an -almost strange- innate understanding of the mix of old-school and Keynes economics, that made scandinavia great.
One of the very few persons I want bad for, is Gro Harlem Brundtland, having worked closely with Maurice Strong, a total fascistic technocrat in the UN system. Their Agenda 2030 is a total dystopi. Thats the Norwegian take on things….
And PCR’s analysis is actually quite spot on, it does not take the whole enchilada in to account, but it highlites one aspect of the whole. I have seen written that the infamous Yori Bezmenov (?) movies is just bullshit and with an imposter. But as I can see the whole shit going down the drain, was Bezmenov an imposter, or not?
Btw… my brother is 10 years younger. I love him, but he do not know how to change tyres. Neither does his buddies. Before you know it, PCR has a good point.
Desillusioned Norwegian
Desillusioned Norwegian
Kjære landsmann i agree with you.
Hello Per/readers of Sakers place.
Beeing interested in everything US, I will say that PCR’s policies do not necessary correspond with mine. His claim to fame is indeed that he was instrumental in the policies of Reagan and Thatcher. And PCR…. if you are reading these comment, that is not a good thing for a scandinavian.
But he does indeed represent the ‘old guard’, as in the folks that did indeed understand the shaky foundations of our societies during the cold war. You can say a lot of shit about Ike Eisenhower and the crazy Curtis LeMay, but I assure you, if they could be resurrected today, they would do a total shakedown in the pentagon and general DC area.
When you have PCR and Martyanov agreeing in the general sense, you are wise to take heed. As that greek guy Varufakis said, ‘who is the grown up in the room’? I am afraid I can see no one. I will repeat this point, the folks running the cold war, would be totally aghast at what is going for strategy and doctrine today.
I am no expert, but I have read the two main books of Bernays, and that book of Ellule (propaganda) so I am -roughly- confident I can smell shit when I get it served. And even if it is a ‘meme’ by now, we do absolutely live in a clown world. Please give me a direction out of it…. do I need to move to the Altay region in Rusland? Except the trouble with cyrillic alphabet, I will cope.
Per/in Norway… I am happy I am not alone in my reading of this site.
@Desillusioned Norwegian
You say
”I will repeat this point, the folks running the cold war, would be totally aghast at what is going for strategy and doctrine today.”
and this conclusion does have merit. These people possessed mental faculties that were not focused on greed, corruption, and reactionary megalomania although such traits were certainly manifest in the West’s political milieu. The thing which literally pulled the plug was neoliberalism. The West entered the ludicrous la-la-land of ”post-industrial society” that allegedly had no need for productive industry or tax revenues; only the FIRE sector. After the conclusion of the Cold War 30 years ago, this brainrot became unstoppable and here we are.
As matters stand, the only somewhat able guy today at the disposal of Western imperialism is — Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. And he is of limited use and, for all his skills and cunning, falls way short of the governments of Russia and China. But Erdoğan Is certainly outperforming the Euro-trash, taking advantage of them like the playthings they are. EU and NATO saw to it that the refugee torrents from the MENA countries ravaged by imperialist war were transferred from Erdoğan’s Turkey and the utterly destroyed country of Libya into the imperialist heartlands. The rest is history.
aja nussiminen. I have been a lurker for years, I have a high bar before I want to post something. I know my national enteties are monitoring this. my wakeup, was the rusland produced film snippet ‘’ a friendly reminder- we are ready for war – are you?’’from ukrania ‘14. this snippet was probably correct, and as such it has been scrubbed from the net. abut ukrnia and such,, we are going down. I have got seeds, but the pragmatic attityde from the net dictates I ceep calm sbout it.
All ment for discussion. I stand my ground…,PCR is in his rights,,,, our western words are indeed pu***tfied…..
When the war breaks out, heed for the hills…
great comment Leo, i encounter these swedes often too.
i do not understand why they chose to bury their heads in the sand.
“becoming a U.S. vassal”? Please, sweden may very well be America’s #2 muppet after Germany with australia as #3. Sad as sweden was once a proud and neutral country when I was a kid, expressing no hostilities toward Russia. Now sweden falls to its knees at the snap of the imperialist’s fingers.
@NATO Blues
While it’s definitely true that contemporary Sweden is sick and pathetic, grovelling before US imperialism in Massa’s final days — just as if the entire ”leadership” here were completely deaf, dumb, and blind about the Empire’s state of dying and decomposing — it’s wrong to say that Sweden in the recent past didn’t express hostility towards Russia/the USSR. Anti-Sovietism was the very staple diet backed up by ludicrous media hoaxes, most notably the fake news of the early 1980s about intruding Soviet submarines. The political career of our criminal scumbag Carl Bildt is 100% inseparable from this hogwash.
Another thing which also dates back to Sweden of the 1980s is the massive neoliberal onslaught by Sweden’s Union of Employers upon the Welfare State. In hindsight, I have to say that it was a spectacular success. Sweden’s ruling corporatocracy didn’t hide behind any politicians or murky foundations. They were honest, vocal, and didn’t hesitate to mobilise massive street rallies under their own banners — literally. In the UK, Thatcher and the Tories were fully committed to neoliberalism and imposed it ferociously but without any Maidan style theatrics and the rulers’ direct, open appeal to the masses.
Looking again at the present, the entire neoliberal cesspit which is the You’re_a_peon Union has brought chaos, corruption, and disintegration to levels that were hard to imagine in the late 20th century, including of course in Norway and the UK post-Brexit. Want to blame it on non-European immigrants and/or Count Coudenhove-Kalergi? Fine, but not too convincing as a deterrent for the greedy Elites who not only are unimpressed by unrequited love and jealousy on the part of their erstwhile mass base, but who also understand there is a nasty little problem looming: Whitey has given up on breeding, and keeping the neoliberal fraud of ever growing public and private indebtedness going requires a supply of people to pay up. Here, it would be seriously interesting to hear what Dr. Paul Craig Roberts has to say. As per Wikipedia, he is a promoter of supply-side economics which, if I recall, is a neoliberal buzz phrase. And, of course, the fact that he was in charge of Reaganomics makes his ideological and professional credentials absolutely impeccable.
“the fact that he was in charge of Reaganomics …
I have never heard this about PCR, and don’t believe it. THere is a full can of worms in Reagan’s economic policies, and I suppose PCR had some responsibility, but your statement went beyond the facts. Part of the success of the 8 year rule by the people behind Ronald Ray Gun was increasing the national debt by a factor of 4.
And yes, PCR contradicts himself when talking about debt-fueled “growth”. But obviously no one person has a consistently brilliant and honest program. Most people with a large following, like PCR, have to be careful to avoid losing that following by smashing idols. Look for the gems as you can sometimes find them.
ehhhh…. He have indeed used that period of his career as a claim to fame so to speak. Sooooo thats that. Beeing Norwegian, I do not have the full American mentality, and our understanding on national macro economics is probably not compatible. But I do understand PCR, and I will also mention Catherine Austin Fitts. She and that other dude documenting apx 50 trillion dollars goind down the unacnowleged black budget.
So you are indeed correct in this, they have been running the printer totally amok since Nixon in ‘71. Some kind of reconning is surely coming. It wont be pretty.
@Leo
Great comment.
There is a wider and more basic underlying element that needs consideration regarding ‘international red lines’, religion, sexual matters and civilisation. What is it? Before living in Asia I did not fully comprehend the divide.
The industrial age tended to commodify the individual and not his or her family. Thus the modern western society became a environment for the individual while any offspring of sexual unions were tolerated as replacement commodities. In Asian and other societies they were considered investments particularly where universal pensions were not available.
China, SE Asia, Russia and most of the Muslim world have not embraced this western development of the individual. In such areas the family remains the essential and basic unit of cohesion as it has been for a millennium. In China even great industrialisation has not changed this.
I see this as the divide that formed the basis for the political development of the west and the resistance in the rest of the world. The question is can the two co-exist or will one need to destroy the other? This is the essence of the battle between the US and China. Will the family unit prove stronger than a collection of individuals joined by a common desire for short term profit and ‘freedom for the individual’.
Family compensation was the name given to the supplementry benefit Chinese couples recieved after reducing the family size. Strangely in the US a phenomena called the ‘corporate family’ was evolving wherein ‘individuals’ might find a ‘suitable home’. Little exceeds the irony and pathos with the misuse of such a definition.
Most moral questions can be easily solved should you add the quallification ‘can it be tolerated within the family?’ eg. Free speech ‘can it be tolerated within the family’. Similarly abortion, adultry, theft, violence, abuse, drugs, etc. The ultimate sanction is the removal or excommunication from the family which is a greater fear in the east than the west.
Sexual orientation is not a cause for great concern in the family but wealth distribution in the family, village, city and country is.This is where humanity and capitalism engage. Again whatever works in the family should gain traction elsewhere. Basically the resources of a family need to be distributed in a manner that makes the family unit healthy, happy and secure.
The basis of the culture and responsibility at all levels in these areas of SE Asia and China is the reliance on the family as the unit that motivates much of the decisions taken. That the country as a whole can be treated like a large family is the basic tenant and any leader that abandons such has a short lived political or social future. Similarly the army in these countries is basically formed to protect family, village, and city security. External threats are secondary.
Therefore it is essential to realize that the motivation of China’s military build up is defensive and protective no matter how large it becomes. In no way is it power hungry either through its leadership or personnel who both have family responsibilities.
China will redress the historical abuses to its ‘family’ only to the extent of equity and not further. That is the family way in villages and in the country operating as a basic unit.
Is society made up of individuals or families and will the evolving western corporate ‘family’ defeat the long established Asian family?
@Leo
Well, Europe and the Western nations are at the forefront but they’re not the only ones getting targeted for societal decay. Eastern nations, especially those held sway under the hegemony are slowly but inexorably moving towards the same decay. Even Russia and China have a slowly growing evil seed, which one day may challenge the barriers that these countries have (thankfully) put up.
That said, I doubt the Eastern nations will succumb as easily as EU et al. The family/extended family unit forms the basis of most eastern culture, presenting a very stiff natural resistance to any subversion. Japan (and perhaps South Korea too?) is the closest they come to a westernized society but traditional family values and the male identity still remain strong (albeit significantly eroded). In the east, pragmatism mostly prevails. There is a red line between common sense and insanity.
Lastly, to try this on any Muslim nations, there is one word to describe it – Impossible.
P.S. How are Italy and Greece holding up? I believe the former has strong family traditions.
In proper English, ‘pussy’, a female cat, usually means someone with a calm and/or retiring and/or non aggressive demeanor, actual gender the word is directed to doesn’t matter. Using the word ‘pussy’ to refer to a lady’s anatomy is generally considered to border on obscene.
Auslander, my friend,
I would add the notion associated with “pussy” as an insult that the person so named is “chicken”, that is incapable of standing up for himself, cowardly, weak, lacking manly qualities.
Well, my friends, can you please start saying ‘dickless’ or something about ‘no balls’. This ‘pussy’ thing is tooooo muuuch!
Quite!
But let’s not be seen endorsing the odious ‘ball less’ as it would simply invite
1)ludicrous word construction, often caused by arbitrary total ‘letter’ constraints, that will produce conjunctive abominations in our English language (as well as the condemnation and possible sanctions of the American appointed Red Squiggly Cmtn which has also Ban Our U forcing us to shout at the computer “That is Proper English, Sir!”)
2) definitional ambiguity when one considers that at any given moment this is the status of virtually all players in teamsport during a game (Matip is ball less because Salah took it from him)
‘Lady Balls’ however is acceptable as it addresses inclusiveness.
Perhaps suggest reading up on “Much ado about nothing”… noting the meaning of “noting” and “nothing” in Shakespeare’s time. What was obviously once enjoyable (in certain educated classes) was the barely disguised good humoured banter about diversity in human biological plumbing systems.
“It’s one of Shakespeare’s best works, it’s a brilliant take on gender roles, and it’s also a sexual joke: in Shakespeare’s time, the word ‘Nothing’ was slang for female genitalia. The title of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ is a double entendre.”
https://www.zmescience.com/science/why-shakespeares-much-ado-about-nothing-is-a-brilliant-sneaky-innuendo/
“I read this play back when I was in college, and what the professor who taught the class said about it was something that stayed with me ever since. He asserted that in Elizabethan times, “nothing” was a reference to female genitalia. A man had a thing, and a woman had no thing. So basically, you could rename this play “Much Ado About _____” (fill in the blank with your favorite vaginal slang).”
https://stuffjeffreads.wordpress.com/2020/04/05/sexual-metaphor-in-much-ado-about-nothing-by-william-shakespeare/
It now seems to be about time that prudish avoidance of gender specificity (disguised as discourse policing) be reassessed for modern open discussion — perhpas it’s time for an international convention on “Intercourse island” (W. Aust) or better still, Interrcourse, Pennsylvania:
“Noted for their love of single entendres and sexy puns, this county is the oldest Amish stronghold in the United States. It was formerly called “Cross Keys” – after a local pub – but in 1814, they switched over. Apparently back in the day, the word referred to the ‘fellowship’ and ‘social interaction and support’ shared in the community of faith.” https://www.escape.com.au/top-lists/welcome-to-intercourse-the-worlds-most-hilarious-town-names/image-gallery/5af5ad861b3b76f3eec04a356003988c
Try this one: “The father was an alpha male but 95% of the time he was a pussy-cat – and 5% of the time he was so incensed by the posturing of his feminist wife that he exploded in blind rage.” In this context the word pussy-cat is implied to be “placid, quiet” and cannot be construed as an insult to the male…. just as Auslander interprets it….and neither an implied insult to females.
Sometimes words matter.
But ‘false-friends’ can confuse the issue even between american-english and the-queens- english >
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_friend
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_cognate
and words change their meaning over time>
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slang_dictionary
the best modern example is the word ‘gay’ which was, in my youth, meant as a positive observation of well-being….and Shakespeare used the word ‘quaint’ to describe someone who was ‘different, unusual’…still used today in the USA…
Well if that word offends you by all means stay out of the military as I can’t count the number of times that we were called “pussies” usually by the DI, meaning that we lacked any resemblance of a human not to mention manhood, we wouldn’t make any resemblance to a trooper if we lived to be a hundred. Some people simply have their goal tied to close to the fence and become offend by most things that don’t bother others..
Re meaning of Puss, as used by Alice in Wonderland. As a Britisher, brought up on English English, I incline toward Auslander’s rather than Larchmonter’s interpretation of this old English word (it used to be pronounced Puzz). A soft, cuddly, warmly affectionate creature — not some cowardly bird brained squawking chicken. Take care not to stir up the Puzzy cat, your skin might feel the claws beneath those velvet paws.
The etymology of pussy points back to Dutch (ships had cats to catch mice/rats; many English loan words from Dutch have their context in the mariner’s world, such as log)
The Dutch word poes is almost certainly onamatopaeic, mimicking the hissing sound they make.
In Dutch we call cats by saying pss pss pss. (kat kater poes for cat, tom, pussy cat; kitten is English)
I grew up in an environment similar to PCR.
We (boys) called each other pansy, sissy, chicken, scaredy cat, and pussy, as the occasion merited (not daring to do something).
Or hacker, which then meant somebody not very skilled, hacking instead of carving.
Gay still referred to a cheerful girl then.
This was long before we even knew about sex, which in my time was about 11, not 3 as is the case today.
F.ck was an expletive which had no literal meaning, but was more powerful than sh.t.
The use of words such as beaver, minx, otter, or pussy for female features before our own pornographied time was certain to have you sent out of the classroom or to get a smack from your parents at home.
Just to add some context.
Remember when Lavrov was asked to comment on Trump’s “grab them by the pussy” and he countered that “there are so many pussies on all sides”…?
https://www.cnbc.com/2016/10/12/russian-foreign-minister-sergey-lavrov-on-us-election-so-many-pussies-on-both-sides.html
In English and many other languages, human anatomy is regularly used to describe people…”Asshole”, “dick”, “c-word” also referring to the female anatomy but much more vulgar and with a different meaning. Pussy is actually tame…
Child in spelling bee.

Great comment Webej and with humour. Love it!
Auslander
The word “pussy’ has a triple meaning: It can mean a cat, a cowardly male person or part of a lady’s anatomy, depending on context. However, it’s current meaning usually refers to a lady’s anatomy.
Auslander
in Norway we say “di jævla fitte”/”(you fuc#ing pussy) to weaklings and cowards, it is borderline obscene but that is the point.

I do not ever intend to be discourteous to Saker’s Blog or to him. I leave comments on an occasion, however I don’t check back about whether or not my comments are published. I consider my ego as in sync with the Tao: always practicing in balance with my core inner my outer subtle chi cultivated too.
Invisibility embrace? Yes. Taoists practiced being invisible during the times of great atrocities, too. We live in “interesting times” …
This is an excellent article Saker, the writing is from the heart indeed. The author gets,
Words a maybe Sword & thus, a must carefully drawn in communicating…
Hua Chi Ni my teacher, 1990s, changed my life. The teaching from Asia was not new to me, however, I’d not found a teacher who understood the greatness in “chi” of Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu, Sun Tzu, Peach Goddess, Et Al.
Hua Ching Ni, profoundly opened my human energy to be insatiably curious about the infinite … I was physically with Master Ni for several years, off and on. Our time now in the Mother Earth is also explained via the *Hopi People, possibly from the time long ago *Asians migrated to America.
Barbarians running amok, not a new reality.
Thanks Saker for your gene of altruism, as always.
@rk I don’t check back about whether or not my comments are published. you don’t care to know what people have to say back to you ? That is rude and ineffective. You could save everyone some time by only talking to a wall, but if you listen, you would help yourself and maybe others. I understand that RK, the m*r*n, will not bother to read my comment but I hope it will warn others away from such an attitude.
It is very difficult to express support to one writer or the other. Of course Paul Schmutz Schaller’s commentary was moderated because we are not in the habit of insulting our authors and our writers here at the Saker Blog.
But on a balance, I am in agreement with Mr Schaller. To tell you why, would be somewhat insulting to Mr Roberts. But let the chips fall where they may.
I was also horrified by the piece by Mr Roberts. Perhaps for different reasons. You start the ‘pussy’ talk, even if you quote it, you’re in the ‘pussy’ world, and that is not a world where reasonable adults should be. Mr Schaller is correct by saying that the ‘pussy’ talk is not good talk. Pussy (and we all know what that means), is not just a modern depiction of say .. weakness. It is a modern depiction of weakness stated in the most abhorrent form for real women.
Also Mr Roberts seems to have no idea what feminism is. The screaming and insane young women running in the streets is not feminism. So, do not depict it as such.
And then Mr Roberts calls in Paglia to support his case. Well, Paglia is nuanced for those that actually know what she is saying. I don’t find a smattering of knowledge of that nuance in the depiction of Mr. Roberts. There are a few comments now, where Paul C Roberts say .. Oh, I am just saying what they say themselves. Well, there is a depth of misunderstanding in ‘what they say themselves’, that for a mature and thinking woman makes it impossible to even comment. It is the difference between nuance, and cave dweller.
There was another thing in the Mr Roberts writing that just was too much. The old ‘people of color’ thing. Well, if we cannot understand that we can say ‘brown’, then I am a people of the boob.
Paul Schaller is correct. To truly tease apart the Mr Roberts writing is almost impossible. It is the difference between a neanderthal and a nuanced person. I am a feminist – an old-style feminist. I do not consider the crazy babes running the streets now as feminists. They are lost young women without parents, without education, without limits, without ordinary rules to get along in human society and to be pitied.
If we have to call in Paglia to be an erstwhile ‘moderator’, Paglia makes this loss of education, the loss of roots, the loss of context of life, crystal clear. One can look at the social structures of today and you can try and understand them, or you can try and beat them to death with some or other incel or mtgow group. In each instance, this is an inability of men to deal with women. Jordan Peterson (oh yeah .. I know, I know, but sometimes he says something correctly) explains that with men-to-men dealings, they know quickly that the one can just beat up the other and weak men are, well, not too cool and dangerous for our society. He says then (in a conversation with Paglia), that men do not have the ability to deal with this lost generation of women, because of course, they cannot quicky slap ’em around. Whatever else he is, he is an honest man in this.
For the men, if you lose the feminine principles and ‘go your own way’, you’re going to create your own feminized men.
And what in holy hell is this romantic idea of ‘men should be protecting women’. We’re not living in caves people. You do not do that fellows. You try, but today’s life asks for a pact of mutual protection between those that love one another. If you have not been able to create such a love .. in your own affairs or in other dealings with women, well, tough. Leave those screaming women harpies alone and look for a soulmate where there is a relationship of equality, a recognition of where one is strong and the other weak (and that goes both ways).
Paul Schaller is correct. There is just too much wrong in the PCR writing to even start properly. I have not even touched Europe.
please do rekognize what testosteron is. It is not something you can wish away. It has been a part of the animalia kingdome for one billion years, and as such it have made wonders. It is the bridges you traspass, it is the thing mixing cold and hot water in your shower, and the fact that you have double glass windows in you home. Testosteron is what went to the moon. And we guys, we know it. So once ina while, we like to take ownership of these assets.
Our modern societies is but a very thin veneer over the full force of testosteron. I will give a good example fitting for this site. Look at that picture in Sakers piece about ‘what just happened in Ukrania’ and take a really good look at those guys. We have Shoigu, and whats his name…. Gerimanof (sorry) and another general, plus that younger man pointing at something. When these men have had enough, and I know I am overly teatrichal here…..
the testosteron will rain down on the northern hemisfere. So in the mean time, both us men and gals, should do everything we can in the peacetime, to make sure these man are working for us, not against us. When tou have an older man, who basically says he want to open the door for you, there should not be any ground for anger.
This amarynth, is actually Clausewich applied.
Ref Paglia…. is that the lady doing a very good conversation with Jordan Peterson? There is a 1 1/2 hour film with Peteson and I belive Paglia, where they both basically agree with PCR, in tha the western world is filling up with angry bitter cat ladies. Karens. I guess they are very much self realized.
When you are meeting an older guy wanting to hold your door, there is no need for anger.
I will get scolded for this….. well well….
Mr Desillusioned Norwegian, oh boy. Have your testosterone all you like. Become strong in it. I hope you do because we need strong people. But don’t use it to make women weak.
I have no problem with anyone holding a door for me. I also have no problem with me holding a door for anyone else.
Don’t make women weak at your expense. Why do you want to be “testeronic” (yeah, I know there is no such word) at the expense of anyone else?
Take a look: “46th Guards Night Bomber Aviation Regiment.
Many #FacesOfVictory are female. We hold sacred the many feats of the female night bomber regiment nicknamed #NightWitches by Nazis.
These young ladies (15-25 yo) destroyed 86 firing points, 46 ammo depots, many other military objects. 23 girls sacrificed their lives fighting Nazis.”
Rather, we can be strong together. The “door” business is a business of good manners. If you ask someone out for a date, please hold the door. You are the host. But if there is someone wanting to open a door, an older person, a young person and they struggle, I will hold that door for anyone with greatest of pleasure.
These people that quote scripture so incessantly should go and take a look at the qualities of a virtuous woman in the Songs of Solomon.
Mr. Schaller’s article reeks of blind hate that is so bad that it doesn’t allow him to be objective. He is more concerned with telling the world “I’m politically correct” than seeing the world the way it actually is
Militant feminists hold as their key axiom that women need to be liberated from the grasp of man-centric power. But in reality, potent men complement potent women- th axiom is a false dichotomy.
Anytime you see one group being staged against another you know that there’s a manipulator behind the scenes pulling the strings for their own benefit.
The oldest self-help books speak of improving one’s own character rather than blaming everyone else for their woes. Blaming others is a mark of an infantile neuroses. this state of mind is amplified through military intelligence-originated psychological operations on the general public. Social media has amplified it 100 fold.
Unity is found in the resolution of the coincidence of opposites. Everyone’s common feature is a threat when we allow ourselves to be divided with petty ideological nonsense, or morally corrupt it through the popular culture.
Whenever you wish to understand why a society implodes on itself, you must first examine the cultural transformation.
We live in times where the smart Smart people are silenced so the stupid people won’t be offended.
Hi Paul Schmutz Shaller,
You state ”Most people in Germany would be horrified by treating Merkel as scum, most people in France would be horrified by treating their governments as corrupt, and the author’s remarks on Italians and British are simply racist,”
Sadly my country (the Netherlands, also in Europe) is not mentioned but I can tell you most of the people I know (I am 45) consider my country to be corrupt to the core, just as the EU. Google ”bouwfraude” for it. A scandal from 20ish years ago that oficcialy proved (thus probably more) our government was involved in a 50 billion scam of the public and the only one that suffered was the whistle blower. If you want I can give many more examples.
We also agree that our prime minister is scum. Search for ”toeslagen afaire” for that. Our tax office unlawfully targeted thousands and thousands as frauds what they were not. Destroying their lives. Leading to suicides, broken families and the likes. Of course he also paid terrorists and the I can go on but you get the point.
I am not sure why the remarks on the Italians and English are racist but it is in the law that our government is racist and sexist. For example, conform law it is fully legal to hire immigrants and women over white men if they are ”equally employable”. This has resulted in way lesser white men employed in every sector government has a say.
I agree though with the remark that discribing European (young) guys as pussies was a not a great choice of wording. Wussies would have been better since so much political correctness, feminism and so on on this piece of land. I take no offence though since I know the US meaning of the word but for wider reading of that piece it would be better a better choice.
I do not know the position of work of course but I can tell you that our wussyfied men and feminised females make lousy employees. They do care way less about customer satisfaction, improving efficiency, improving our service and so on. They mostly whine about how racist our company is, how unequal it is, that they have no safe spaces to hide when a customer is rightly pissed off and so on.
That this crosses your red lines I am sad to read. As far as I am concerned it is true. Men are not men anymore and females not females anymore. Warped into metal madness like 45+ genders now. Ignoring biology and how to be a productive society with real social justice.
Here there is now outcry that an over the top transgender is refused a taxi ride by a very religious person. Not that teachers, cops and the likes cannot afford a house in the areas they teach, police or even post delivery people. To name something that really is an issue besides the issues I already mentioned before. Of course I can name many more things like the 70%! increase in homelessness among the native population last decade. The ones not homeless having to wait up to 22! years for affordable housing. The horrors of our medical system but I am sure you get the point.
As PCR pointed out, our men are wussies or pussies. In the 1980 era, mostly men where out against the new, to be appointed queen big time with the slogan ”geen woning, geen kroning” translated as no place to live, no new queen. They won and gotten tons of new housing. Now they are just silent and accept the misery the system inflicts on them and live into their 40s with their parents because no housing.
I used to travel a lot in Europe and so few real man and woman around, ever less over time. Good luck with your red lines. I have mine and you crossed them. Hence this post.
Ps, on the France being corrupt, know that our French ECB woman has been convicted by French courts of corruption and still was made head of the ECB. So now we have officially a corrupt person running the printing presses! Putin / Xi tries to root out that, in Europe that is institutionalised!
Regards,
Hugo
Top comment, Hugo. I am from Germany.
good comment Hugo, the same applies to Norway.
@Per/Norway
Sums up the UK too.. All the same, the author was honest, he spoke his mind, kudos, as most don’t dare .
Thanks for the positive feeback even though it makes me sad. Proves to me that Europe is in collapse mode society wise. I hoped some European countries were still in resist modus but seems they all agree on national suicide. What a waste and shame of such a great history of achievements. .
Regards,
Hugo
As to the purported cultural arrogance of PCR, I understood throughout that PCR was talking about Western men, American and European, without any denigration of European compared to Americans. I certainly did not feel singled out as a European man.
As for the rape, statistics (whenever these escape censorship and obfuscation) show a tremendous disproportionality along ethnic lines, and many areas have become less safe for young women than they were previously. In any mixed society, rape of women from the outgroup tends to elicit less moral condemnation than in one’s own ingroup. Wartime is a stark illustration of this principle.
Civilization is a thin veneer, and politically correct progress tends to unravel quickly when the veneer falls away.
If I understand you right the original indigenous population is the out group ? Well I hope we will evolve better in Europe than the indigenous Indians in USA.
No. The outgroup is the one you are not in.
I think I have the entire picture behind PCR:s incredible demagoguery to the effect that (mind the present tense):
”All over Europe, white women of European ethnicity, French, German, Danish, Swedish are raped openly in public.”
PCR, by his own admission, read Jean Raspail’s The Camp of the Saints which presents exactly this as Europe’s bleak future. He also admits/alleges that he has read ”Swedish newspapers” (but curiously doesn’t include one single source). I think Paul Schmutz Schaller is absolutely right about PCR being a typical American: racist, arrogant, insensitive. This being so, PCR should very much enjoy such reading material. Or Anders Behring Breivik’s, for that matter.
And if we all thought alike the world would be a dull boring place, what ever happened to that race/generation that fought and suffered, suffered immensely to create this country in the first place, yes they are gone but unfortunately they left behind their offspring the pussies who would stand up for nothing except that group think should rule the day, you see the so called “woke culture” comes in many shapes and forms and most of it makes you less than a man which is intended.
After reading this, seems to me PCR is right.
lol, I’m reminded of an article in a woman’s magazine a few weeks before I visited the Middle East in 1996. I visited the countries of Israel, Jordan, and the Sinai Peninsula. Jordan and the City of Petra and of course Jerusalem and Bethlehem were my top priorities so before I left I read up on everything and came across a Womans magazine with a picture of the ruins of Petra on it.
The article was written by a lady archeologist from a Western University who was doing some research and work in Jordan on the Nabatean people and culture. What I learned was little about those things but rather what this poor woman went through. She made a terrible mistake of traveling to a Moslem country alone or rather unmarried and paid the price for it. She suffered so much gossip while in the capital that she couldn’t go anywhere without being hissed at by the woman and mocked and ridiculed by the men. She tried to explain to them that she was there for research and such but they didn’t accept or believe it. They all thought she was there for only one thing the men and sexual adventures and/or to find a husband. She paid terribly for her misadventure. It was an incredible article that I still have somewhere among my memorabilia and in my life experiences I’ve always asked the question why Moslem’s think and believe such things?
I then came across an expat Syrian of Moslem religion here in Canada and we became friendly and then he told me about his job as a doorman at an expensive hotel and how he was called up to a room one morning to deliver something. When the door opened the guy invited him in and then pulling off the sheet of the sleeping girl he said to Sam look I what I had last night? In all her glory was this beautiful girl all splayed out before them both dead asleep. Yeah, can you imagine I mumbled too myself Sam’s expression?
Wow, i later thought too myself what must be going through the minds of Moslem men back home in places like Jordan when they hear from Sam the great wonders of the West?
I was also reminded of my Aunt late 50’s who disrobed her top in front of my mother and I and had no qualms about it while visiting a beach in Croatia. Yeah, go to any beach in Europe and watch out for the newly minted immigrants I’d say? As for the local men to ignorant to understand that life isn’t supposed to be like this. That love at one time meant a boy and girl were both virgins which makes the bond of marriage that much more rewarding and fulfilling. If that were the case I’m sure PCR’s idea of men being useless ‘P’s’ would be very much different. Fatherhood and motherhood hardly means much anymore when boys and girl’s are being raised by the state?
Lastly:
“In other words, you cannot mentally decide your core interests, you rather may discover them. It is your life which imposes your core interests and red lines.”
There is an interesting statement in the book of Job:
“Beware of turning to evil which you seem to prefer to affliction.” Job 36:21
No one should desire to discover what ones core interests and red lines are by ones experiences of life. As I often use to say to young people be extremely careful how you treat life because one wrong decision now could very well cost you 20 to 30 years of your life. And God of course forgives but even He can’t turn back the clock of time! That is why in the Bible we are called / admonished to ask God for wisdom which He gladly gives to all when in pursuit of Him!
Christians have a different set of values Paul Schmutz Shaller.
“She made a terrible mistake of traveling to a Moslem country alone or rather unmarried and paid the price for it. She suffered so much gossip while in the capital that she couldn’t go anywhere without being hissed at by the woman and mocked and ridiculed by the men”
As a Muslim living in Iran that seems like a made up story . I don’t know why a “Moslem” would mock or hiss at a total stranger but it seems to me you haven’t met a real Muslim in your life so I invite you to Iran ، I bet you would have a wonderful time here and be surprised by the hospitality of Iranian people
@ hatimi
Made up story? This isn’t the first time I related this story on this blog. The first time a Moslem gentlemen replied that he knows very well that noise the women make when jeering and said or warned rather me and others on the blog to warn our women never to travel to a Moslem country alone. Again this lady was an academic from a Western University and stayed lived in Amman among the people there. She had no reason to lie about her experiences. We are by the way going back 25 years here.
I was treated well by many when i visited Petra the only negative was when i returned to Aqaba on the bus. The bus driver looking at me and the other western couple wasn’t to hospitable. I sat also right across the aisle of a mother with her son and she was dressed from head to toe in black, pitch black and was even wearing black gloves. The other couple were a little forward of us and the Arabic music was blaring so loud that the couple both took out earplugs and then this mother next to me said something to her son and then the son glanced over at me. The drive back to Aqaba was painful! the roads terrible, the loud arabic music and me a lone male looking out over the desert and asking myself these poor woman having to wear that get up in the desert? Even gloves really? I even noticed this mother adjusting her gloves so that no skin was visible? Really the skin of her hands? Culture shock and culture wars doesn’t that sum up what is happening in Europe? I could well imagine the first thing a male Moslem immigrant would do arriving in a European country is head straight for the beach lol? And get this when in Aqaba preparing to return across the border to Eilat a Jordanian family was swimming in their share of the Red Sea the woman completely dressed in black. In Eilat not even a kilometer away women walking around practically naked.
As for Sam the Syrian he married a Canadian girl of no religious affiliation to the horror of her friends? Our societies are becoming a mish/mash and I think it is going to end very badly all this racial mixing. When war broke out in Syria Sam kept saying to me how he would return to fight for his country? That for me just raised more questions about him being in Canada and poor Sam on the radar of people in government intelligence to boot?
In my youth i loved to visit Sylt…a fascinating island off the west coast of Germany. There are alternate beach sections for naturists and for textile-wearers “textil-strand” Amusingly the rules state clearly that it is an offence to wear clothing in the Naturist section…and an offence to be naked in the Textile-section. On my first visit there, I in my innocence, wanted to take a long walk along the beach – being naked – and as i walked into the textile section, i was shouted at by furious German men and women that i should leave immediately. i walked back to where i had left my towel and rucksack and took my boxer shorts and put them on just before re-entering the textile-section…and all was well…Quite an eye-opener for me, when one recalls the Kraft-durch-Freude emphasis on physical well being and nudity, promoted by the German governments going all the way back to Bismarcks time…
My understanding of similar beach areas in the South of France, is that French women are now frightened of sunbathing naked for fear of the reaction from Muslim beach visitors…
This is true, to my estimation.
I came out of an evangelical, fundamentalist Christian family, which no doubt had much to do with my eventual dismissal of their beliefs although much critical thought and research also contributed.
As I am not a Christian, I nevertheless retain unmitigated respect for members of that faith who uphold the ideals of the kind, inclusive Christ. I also have a high estimation of the Saker, and I understand that his faith is important to him, so as a guest in his house I do not disparage Christianity.
I saw PCRs diatribe as a discredit to his body of work, but I also consider it to be an unfortunate blip. Certainly there were factors that are unknowable to me which contributed to its composition.
Regardless, we move on and continue to watch the lands and the skies together. I believe that the Saker and indeed most of the commentators here are people of high intelligence and good will.
So onward we go. Cheers.
Declaring that you are not a Christian, actually that you abandoned Christianity, is directly a reproach that this site is Christian. This is a glaring lack of respect.
Sorry, I had no idea that a site could have a religion. If the Saker prefers that I no longer read it, all he has to do is say so.
I don’t have your particular interpretation of Christianity, but whatever. No disrespect intended, but I’m of that “don’t toss the cake because I don’t agree with the candles” sort of mindset.
But why this urge to advertise to all and sundry that ‘I am not a Christian’, not a Christian anymore, that is? You can’t not know that the Saker has a religion.
Sometimes it is relevant to the conversation to know which religion one has, or not at all. One of the two best items in Islam is Surya 56 from the Koran: “in matters of religion, there is to be no coercion.” Thomas Paine put a finer point on it: “He who dares not offend cannot be honest.” We are not in a church here, but I hope we are all in search of truth.
I will note, however, that there is a contradiction between complaining, however rightly, about “safe spaces,” political correctness, and so on, while limiting the scope of debate/critique on certain matters. This principle applies universally and generally, regardless of background and ideology. Incidentally, I find that this forum generally allows relatively free and open debate, especially by today’s standards. Even atheists occasionally contribute without being censored. The most important factor is reason. If a critique is well formulated, presented, and argued, with supporting evidence, then it should be allowed to pass, regardless of its political or other leanings.
A multi-lingual and multi-cultural storm in a tea cup. Did not expect that here, to be honest.
Someone did not like what someone else wrote, or misunderstood it. So what else is new?
Mr PSS: inhale and exhale then read it again. I propose you get over yourself, because if indeed you have misunderstood PCR’s article (as is highly likely), its language and intentions, then you have the opportunity to learn something and grow. We will then grow with you and benefit from your articles.
If you clam up, we all lose and the evil gains.
Lets move on, together.
@Schaller
Your article smells too much of self interest and self-righteousness.
Let me give you an advice, a rule of thumb I use myself but not always remember. Per basic grammar I mode happens behind closed door of a bathroom (myself, myself, myself), You mode happens in the bedroom or between intimate friends.
When we go out in the corridor or world and meet other people we discuss the present cause in WE mode:
Never personal, only bidding into the subject to make the present team wiser on how to reach or make a goal.
Much ado about nothing here. I always take PCR with a very large grain of salt, as he’s more than a little bit prone to hyperbole. But he’s also correct in most things he writes, so you take the bad with the good and simply ignore anything you can’t stomach. And as always, one needs to be careful in automatically attributing what the author writes always and everywhere to the author him or herself. Yes, I know its hard to believe, but people can and do say or write amazingly sexist, racist, or otherwise insensitive remarks that don’t actually represent how they are as a person. Such are the difficulties in expressing one’s self using crude tools such as language, even before factoring in such things as emotions and/or writing or speaking for specific effect.
It goes with the turf. This is a comments section and insensitive comments are unavoidable. The moderators do their best to limit ad hominem attacks but “writing or speaking for specific effect” sometimes involves language that is certain to offend someone. If I remember right, you come from a US evangelical background. That doesn’t make you a bad person, but it might have instilled in you a hostility to religion in general. There are many on this site who would take issue with anything they deem anti-Christian.
Paul Craig Roberts, to his credit, has come out strongly against Zionism, especially as it has impacted the indigenous peoples of the Middle East. You have to remember that he came out of a Christian Zionist background, so this is quite a leap for him, especially considering how Christian Zionists are strong supporters of Likud in Palestine. He has yet to jettison his evangelical attitudes toward women and gay people, though, so it’s understandable that he would write the column in question.
If I remember right, you come from a US evangelical background.
Very good Tommy! I’m surprised you remembered that. I wouldn’t say that I’m necessarily hostile toward religion in general (although I’ve got my moments), but I am rather skeptical as to its benefits in the modern world, even as I recognize that it’s also a “necessary evil” in a large part of the population. But yeah, it also goes back to when the person in question grew up. We seem to be having a major problem these days with the younger generations (especially) contextualizing attitudes, mores, and speech patterns of people who grew up in the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. [I can’t count the number of times I was smeared with (and smeared others with) the term “pussy” growing up. It was literally an everyday term in my early and middle school years.] So all this infantile handwringing that goes on these days about something somebody said or did in an off moment – besides being contrived to support a nefarious sociopolitical agenda – makes me chuckle, even as a realize that it’s also pretty serious business if you’re a public figure who gets caught in the crosshairs.
I love it when comments become a respectful conversation between two people rather than a megaphone for one particular agenda or another. “Contextualizing attitudes, mores, and speech patterns of people who grew up in the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s” is indeed, infantile handwringing. I think of it more as Kabuki theater.
Thanks buddy. Likewise!
I have to agree with Paul Schmutz Schaller.
PCR has valid points to make, but his language was a little intemperate, and I can see deliberately insulting to many. PCR would have done well to address his remarks a little closer home, where the issues are more stark, in my view.
I am of European origin, but have lived on the other side of the world for over 25 years. I frequently visit Europe, and I can see profound changes – not for the better in my opinion. Perhaps living there full time the changes are less noticeable.
I have enjoyed Paul Schmutz Schaller writings; I encourage him to reconsider abandoning this blog.
I think the point behind Roberts article was lost in translation even in Roberts on mind. What he was getting at was the infantile psychology being employed to week in the western man. In the end if you don’t stand up for yourself because you lack courage due to a infantile state of mind, then your enemy has already won.
The point is to understand that this technique to reduce men to infantile psychological mode is being employed as a means of cultural warfare. And it has been quite successful in the west. In that sense Robert is doing us a service by identifying the nature of the neuroses which has infected the west.
Why are So Many Men Psychologically Infantile?
https://youtube.com/watch?v=sxePuWBABKk
The issue is the weakening of courage in the modern man, by replacement of that cultural legacy. The point is not to shit on women or look down on them, but to restore manhood to its vital role.
The pattern of infantile men plays into the cancel culture movement because the “courage pipeline” for men has been damaged by cultural attacks for decades. This goes back to the cult of Delphi. Hedonism and all the rest. Bottom line is you don’t boost women by weakening men. This aligns with preserving the family.
But if you look around at all these corporations which are giving in to the cancel culture movement it’s because the board members lack the courage to fight an obvious evil. This is the direct consequence of the feminization of men. Now Liberty-takers are taking advantage of this state of affairs in the form of BLM shakedowns, etc. It takes actual courage to fight this attack, and the men are folding, and the women mostly naïvely embracing the parasitical invasion, with Stockholm syndrome across the board.
Yes! I think you’ve exactly nailed it with these two posts!
there is nothing wrong if women run things (abajo y a la izquierda)…..there was this woman, Domitila, that when being in an meeting ask her fellow miners, who is their enemy, they all went, the mining corporation, the government, etc. No, she said, the enemy is fear. Some years later, 5 indigenous women, Domitila one of them, where in a hunger strike in a plaza in La Paz, they were going to stay there until the fall of the military dictatorship, no one paid attention, in a week they were 50, in a month 500, in 4 months 500,000, the military dictatorship fell.
Rigoberta Menchu had to hell her story, the genocide of the mayan people of the guatemalan highlands by the military backed by the hegemon.
Comandanta Ramona from the EZLN said it, “A world were all worlds are possible”
@Rublev
Nice story. When women are good they are really good.
Sadly I see many good guys run together with not so commendable girls or women. Same in politics. We should leave the divide labels and just point at stars notwithstanding their race, sex, religion and colour.
Tomsen, thank you. I read somewhere that “At the top, all power is homosexual”. By that, it didn’t mean gay, but run by men, if it meant their sexual orientation, oh well…But those “though” women in government, are they really women? When the narrative goes that they had to compete in a man’s world? just a thought…
Never apologize for the truth!
Ephesians 5:22-33
New International Version
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body.
…no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body……
Arg. See this is now the age of the Insta, the FB the ticci-toc twitz.
Who do hate their body with a seething vicious toxic raging blinding hatred.
They seek surgery to remove or modify genitalia. They add buttocks and bosoms and cheek bones and scrape away cellulite.
And the more they do, the more poses and posts, the greater the hatred for their corporeal self.
This is not new behavior. Enunics, female genital mutilation, binding of feet, heads breast etc., ear and lip stretching on an on. Mutilation of the body is nothing new. There is nothing new under the sun. It was aberrant behavior then and so it is now.
@ White Whale
lol, I remember reading a model from one of the fashion houses of Paris say and I quote:
“I wouldn’t get out of bed in the morning for less than ten thousand dollars.”
I have read a lot of PCR and a bit of Schaller. My observation is that PCR is prone to hyperbole and Schaller prone to nitpicking.
On re-reading the PCR column in question a few times and this one by Schaller a few times, I think Schaller is being way over sensitive. From what I have read, PCR has great respect for women, but like many old time generally Christian-oriented people, he sees the roles of men and women as different and complementary but equally important. What he decries is the blurring of those roles, which weakens the moral fabric of society, which in turns leads to the destruction of the society. This is what he sees in the West, including Europe.
Based on my observations, PCR is right.
I think that the whole purpose of this winding text about ‘respect’ was to show us that he has no respect for our red lines: respect for Orthodoxy and Russia.
”I read the text, but it left me completely unimpressed (I am not a Christian). Nevertheless, I found it interesting. I may add that for me, the question of mutual respect is as serious as a religious conviction – or religious faith, if you prefer”. Typical ‘Western’ attitude. A Mafioso is a ‘omu d’onuri’ and demands ‘rispettu’ above all.
I must utterly disagree with Mr. Schaller and whoever labeled PCR a “hateful old man”. There has been quite a bit of misunderstanding in the messages he wanted to convey and the way these have been interpreted, or worse, taken for their literal, prosaic meaning. Sure enough PCR used a few cuss-words and didn’t refrain from reminding everyone about a number of “inconvenient truths” that are usually swept under the stinky, ugly carpet (corrupt governments, feminized men, women running the show, rampant & unchecked immigration etc). But I’m giving the “old man” some hefty credit because it takes major balls to talk about such topics, break a few rules and taboos, and yes….hurt some (oversensitive) people’s feelings.
PCR’s article, as scathing as it may have have come across, reeks of *frustration* – not hate!
He’s frustrated, bewildered, disgusted at what “modern” men and women have become – and how debased Western societies have become – promoting self-destructive values and policies while at the same time getting a kick out of claiming the moral high ground and unrelentlessly confronting Russia and China.
And indeed, if a society cannot even properly enforce its own laws, protect its women, children and families, and respect its own history and culture, it won’t stand a chance against a determined adversary especially in case of an armed conflict.
Which brings us of course to the obvious question – how does NATO expect to stand up to Russia (and/or China) with armies of hedonistic, feminized men and women-generals with oversized egos? Are they ready to take casualties? Are they ready for a protracted, asymmetric, unpredictable conflict? Are they ready to lose their prized capital ships and airbases in a matter of minutes?
And most importantly – do they have the will, the determination, the sense of mission – that a Russian soldier will be naturally endowed with?
Somehow, the expectation is that in case of conflict everything will play out as in a videogame and NATO forces will come out victorious thanks to their (expensive) high-tech toys so that the woosie, limp-wristed grunts led by their uniformed female-generals can just sit back in their control rooms and watch on giant screens enemy forces being taken out effortlessly at stand-off ranges.
Real war is a completely different beast and the Russians know it full well – and chances are things won’t go smoothly at all – remember Georgia in 08.08.08 – when they had to cross the Roki tunnel in a haste to reach Tskhinvali and several vehicles broke down and were nevertheless repaired on the spot – they had to get across to South Ossetia no matter what before running the risk of the Georgians blocking them. Heck they even lost a Tu-22M and several Su-25s in the early stages of the conflict – but they never turned back or retreated until Georgian armed forces got properly de-fanged and Saakashvili got a few bites off his own necktie…just to get the stress away :-)
Those were real men, supported by real women who cared and fought for territorial integrity…
And I frankly don’t see the NATO armies made up of hedonistic, feminized men and women-generals stacking up to the Russians….
Although both authors make some good points I dislike both their unusually hysterical tone and lack of substance. They have fallen into the same trap and are fighting one another at the bottom of a pit dug by the Anglo Zio Capitalist Empire to set us against one another: Divide et Impera.
“In Heaven there is neither Jew nor Gentile”. And on Earth there are neither Christians nor Muslims, Europeans nor Asiatics and Africans; the only great divide is between Capitalism and Communism — everything else is a diversion to hide the ruthless handful of ultra rich who are pulling the strings of the puppet show. Those refugees from Africa and Asia are refugees from Anglo Zionazi Capitalist resource wars that the AZC bribe our Leaders to start, and which we fund with our taxes. And those waves of poor immigrants are allowed to flood into our countries (Germany, Britain, France, etc) by corrupt Leaders like Merkel etc, in order to make more profit for the AZC by depressing wages of the native population.
Wake up, gentlemen! Where is Rami Mazaheri when you need him?
It’s like two boys throwing toys at each other because they disagree on play. Good lord.
PCR’s topic is (imo) a non-issue, regardless of how it was presented. The core message reflects the truth of what is happening (unless you’ve been burying your head somewhere, certified ignoramus). There are bigger issues at play than being bogged down by semantics and sensitivities.
Feminism is the lesser issue. You can’t fix feminism until you fix the greater cause i.e. the root cause (which doesn’t have anything to do with feminism). Is this fundamental concept that hard to understand?
Paul’s response is superfluous and vacillating. State your disagreement objectively and move on. It is not necessary to belabor the response and vilify the author for perceived wrongs.
P.S With life, I brook no nonsense. Brevity and clarity is golden. This article, imo, is mostly fluff. Intended to distract.
The easiest way to defame an opponent in a political debate is to claim that he or she did not understand something. This is a common practice and I would have expected a little more originality. For the record: I understood only too well, and there is no misunderstanding.
Manifestly, organs play an important role here. You may have realized that – apart from sexual organs – I mentioned the brain. However, as at least two comments do, I should have also spoken of the heart. In my writings, I am guided by my heart – or at least I try so. The brain is „only“ some kind of control body and ghostwriter.
Answering a question: This is definitely a divorce, and obviously, it is not an amiable divorce.
Thanks very much to Amarynth and some other commentators! I like your courage.
@Paul Schmutz Schaller
Pls do hang around and wait for the Saker’s post…
if you still decide its better to part ways then we wish you well…
@all
I have decided, since the original PCR article, to hold my lenghty 2c POV,
until the Saker coming post…
A casual observation, from the east, just v quickly – both parties here are heavily streaming from their white western middle to upper class paradigm (pos also filter through their choice of religion too – ‘God said so’ is v power to many still)
Feminism or feminazis or whatever, has no religion no god. They are obsessed w ‘the control of their body’. Both parties here are applying pretty phalic-analysis on the pussy-gender-person/country, is just, perhaps, missing the point. They, are not you and they have elicit a reaction against you – they dont want to be phalic… but they dont know what they want to be or can be… so they put on thick layer of mask (literal and psychological) and turn themselves into ‘monster’, then to uplift themselves, so they do turn to suicide, they run the ‘PROUD’ programming and publicly flashing (their private parts and their idiotlogy) everywhere…
The current European man issue is deep cultural issue. Many does not want to related to their country’s war criminal past but they have nothing else they can assimilate to. So the refugeee program obviously is poison (in the short term) but perhaps new genes can emerged from that (LT)? Again the frieghtening issue is, will there be any white-ness left in those who’s past culture was white and phalic, after they inter-married or being raped (for generations)?
Chinese has that problem a long time ago…
Technically speaking, I am a ‘Banana man’, that is yellow skin on the out side but white flesh in the inside. I have been indoctrinated by the western ‘virus’, whatever that is. HA HA :D (sorry cant help me self here w covid jokes)
Have I ceased to be chinese, the dragon ppl, because I am writting here in english language to you? Or I preffer sushi, does that make me anti-CCP?
Culture war, not gender war, is what we are fighting here… hence I ask if the german friend would enroll in a Confuscious School (a cultural education program) and he replied honest. I understand where he is coming from. (and I love german sausage!)
Am I still true-bred yellow people here? What makes a european man/woman, Man/Woman? Surely its beyond the AA, BB, or CC cream.
Again, this we talk about here before,
what makes a Russian, Russian?
Okie me wait for da boss…
be well be safe
@Paul Schmutz Schaller
Kamala Harris past sexual history is well known.
Just a decade or maybe 2, back no male politician could have hoped to gain voter approval with such a sexual resume. A woman never, ever.
But these are the “woke” times. So none of that matters. or so we are told. But for some, even the non religious, such a resume shows a lack of moral and personal integrity.- for male or female equally.
That Harris won her place on her back and on her knees cannot be disputed.
It is abhorrent that so many talented, deserving and worthwhile women were passed over and this unworthy whore is vice-president.
But that sums up the times in which we now live.
Ps….And HRC was not a better option …. and trump is was a nasty narcissist male whore.
I despise them all.
@Schaller. Thank you for writing this article although I do not agree and think you are biased. But then again so is PCR and we all are biased.
@Saker: Thank you for from time to time publishing articles that are out of the norm on this site.
We live in our own bubble of truth. My problem is trying to adjust my truth bubble when I receive new information, I always fear to end up in a cloud of consent that will re enforce my beliefs to the level where I will simply reject opposite views without analysing. That is what is creating the “we” versus “them” mentality that does not allow discussion and will lead to violence and eventually war.
@ all who post comments at this site. Keep posting please. I am humbled by your intellect and insights. They keep me on my toes and I see I still have so much to learn and read, but I love it. I only wish I had more hours in a day to learn.
Kesnet
To quote Caitlin Johnstone “ Their is no one I agree with 100% of the time and no one I disagree with 100% of the time” it is only a matter of degrees some people I agree with most of the time and some I disagree with most of the time, even the people I agree with the most we sometimes have conflicting opinions and people that I disagree with most of the time very occasionally come up with something I’m in total agreement with.
Seem the new “Woke” agenda is– If we don’t agree with someones viewpoint, we git our itty bitty feelings in a bunch, and take our ball and go home, or riot.
“I am smiling at myself today
There’s no wish left in this heart
Or perhaps there is no heart left
Free from all desire
I sit quietly like Earth
My silent cry echoes like thunder
Throughout the universe
I am not worried about it
I know it will be heard by no one
Except me.”

„All over Europe white women […] are raped openly in public.“ Come on. This is as far from reality as Biden’s government view of the world situation.
This may look like an exaggerated statement on the surface, but it is actually not – & in fact, the reality is somewhat worse, because all over Europe (& I can speak for the UK) there are significant numbers of violent assaults carried out by so-called minorities, against white people that are racially motivated (anti-white). The media by in large ignores these incidents, & when it does report on them usually does so from some apologetic, like these minority groups are so oppressed you know, or they suffer islamiphobic hatred, they are just reacting. The new years incident in Cologne, Germany (2015-16) was a case of white women being sexually assaulted in public, & the media played it down. There was the notorious case in Vienna where a young white (of Serbian descent) boy was anally raped by an Iraqi “refugee” where the sex offender was let off by the Court. And it goes on & on. Here’s a personal one, from about 10 years ago, I was walking through the city centre of an English city where I live late at night with my girlfriend, on our way home from a restaurant, & 2 young men of Kurdish ethnicity passed by staring at my girlfriend in what was a clearly predatory manner. We passed them, I looked back after a minute or 2 & they were standing staring at us, one shouted “what the f+++ are you looking at?” I (unwisely) in a temper shouted back an abusive, to which the other one shouted “walk on or we will kill you & f++++ing rape your b+++ch”. At that my girlfriend shouted a profanity back, they rushed at us, I rushed at them, we clashed, & a fist fight ensued. It was me against the two Kurdish lads, we broke apart at one point, at which the two of them took of their belts, started winding them around their fists with the buckles against their knuckles, so as to use as knuckle dusters against me. Just as I was about to be pounded by them, along with my girlfriend who I told to run but she wouldn’t & stayed out, a group of (white passers by) lads jumped in the fray I was saved, along with my girlfriend, of a nasty beating. This incident was fairly typical of the kind of attitude demonstrated by immigrant young men of middle eastern, African & Indian sub-continent (particularly Pakistani & Afghan) origin. I was born to immigrant parents myself from ex-Yugoslavia/Serbia, & no one, & I mean no one, from our immigrant community in the UK ever behaved in this way, or the Greek immigrant community, or the Italian, or the Polish etc. etc. There is a marked difference between the general attitudes & behaviour of immigrants of European origin, & immigrants (“refugees”) from the “Third World”. Those who originate from an Islamic culture tend to be the worst. This is just a fact, but you can not talk openly like this or you will be branded racist & can face criminal prosecution & loss of employment. So Paul Craig Roberts is not wrong, what he is saying is accurate – & I don’t go along with some of his perceptions, but he is right about this. Not to mention that these same minority immigrant/so-called “refugees” also, more often than not, arrive in western countries with an attitude as if they are owed something – meaning financial benefits, free money. It is an attitude I can not comprehend at all, why anyone would think some society owes them something is beyond me – this has nothing to do with political awareness of western imperialism, these young men are totally ignorant & know nothing & are not interested in politics, this attitude is cultural. This attitude of being owed something taps in to their aggressive behaviour towards European natives, they approach women as if – as in Cologne – these women are supposed to bow down before them. It is revolting. So what Paul Craig Roberts said is barely tip of the iceberg, the reality is actually worse.
@ Srbalj,
an addition for you

The Vienna swimming pool rape became an international incident as even Putin weighed in.
An Iraqi refugee raped a Serbian boy, also a refugee, at the swimming pool:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vienna_swimming_pool_rape
The Austrian authorities tried desperately to cover it up for two years.
The most shocking thing was not the rape itself (although the little boy needed to be hospitalised which is very sad and will be traumatised for life) but that the Iraqis conviction was overturned because the Austrian courts claimed that the he couldn’t speak German and therefore could not understand the word “No”.
After an uproar the conviction was re-instated but at a greatly reduced sentence because the judge preached that “you cannot lose your sense of proportion here”.
Everyone knows that Iraq is a country that has been raped and violated for decades. But where is justice for this little boy?
I can’t believe that there are people here who are actually offended by the word pussy or who see rape as a racism issue. Message for these snowflakes: get a grip. There are real victims here, there is real pain here, this is no time for identity politics!
” 2 young men of Kurdish ethnicity passed by staring at my girlfriend in what was a clearly predatory manner.”
this is a problem in my little town to, full of entitled takfirs instead of Christian Syrians🤷♂️
The moral difficulty is that, although those immigrants are certainly responsible for their own behavior, as you say, since “we,” as NATO, have destroyed many of their countries, and killed many of their people in the process, a case can be made that we do owe them something. How much money for a dead family member?
I used to like the writings of Mr P. S. Schaller. If nothing, he could provide us balanced insights on how the well-educated, medium class, average western men thoughts and perceptions. On the other hand Mr P. C. Roberts (P.R.C.) has been a provider of deeper insights on the internal US power dynamics and (lack of) rationale.
In my perception, Mr Schaller missed completely the point. Could not even get the title right. The emotional over-reaction to a very factual reality check P.C.R. just bought up, tells more about the fears and sensitive spots of Mr Schaller, than the positions expressed in the piece from P.C.R. It is like someone who looks into the mirror and does not like what it shows…
The post from P.C.R. is a powerful provocation. I translated the text and posted in Duplo Expresso Telegram forum, which is mostly run by and for Brazilians, and faced similar reactions from some people there. People called me This all made me recall my last trip in Brazil. Many adult women joking or complaining about lack of real men, young people engaging homosexuality not as real sexuality, but as the latest fashionable thing to jump in. All of this coupled with a widespread anomie to face the country destruction by Bolsonaro and his ultra-neoliberal team.
I have mixed feelings about Iben Thranholm’s positions. Her arguments are sometimes too much religion based, in favor of western christianity. On the other hand, her diagnostics is on the spot. Western societies have no answer to these questions other than hysteria, right-wing fake moralism and bullshit.
We frequently give American traits fancy names: arrogance, exceptionalism, and so on.
But we forget the plain damn rudeness. And it is the rudeness of PCR’s article that got to me. Who makes him the arbiter of what is happening in Europe? And call out the rights and the wrongs on a basis of something that sounds much like ‘the white man’s burden’. It made me remember the book, The Ugly American.
From Wikipedia: “The Ugly American is a 1958 political novel by Eugene Burdick and William Lederer that depicts the failures of the U.S. diplomatic corps in Southeast Asia.
The book caused a sensation in diplomatic circles and had major political implications. The Peace Corps was established during the Kennedy administration partly as a result of the book. The bestseller has remained continuously in print and is one of the most influential American political novels.[1] It has been called an “iconic Cold War text.”[2] ”
“In one vignette, a Burmese journalist says, “For some reason, the [American] people I meet in my country are not the same as the ones I knew in the United States. A mysterious change seems to come over Americans when they go to a foreign land. They isolate themselves socially. They live pretentiously. They are loud and ostentatious.”[7]”
And with PCR’s previous interview with a Russian radio station, he said he wanted to tell the Russians that their Kremlin is not doing the right things for them. Yeah right PCR. And you know this, how? This is hubris.
And it also makes me think of the early days of Trump when he called the Mexicans criminals and rapists and a few more choice words like that and came up with a funny term, but still showing absolute contempt – sh!thole countries. The Mexicans immediately came out with a ditty on the phones, singing FVck Trump! and all the phones rang with this clear message everywhere and everyone had a big old Trump piñata being hit to pieces at every fiesta. I know some people there and they enjoyed sending me photos of piñatas being pummelled.
Well, hopefully, I will not think about this much more because it gets worse. I won’t talk about the fear of staying white, and the fear of women and the fear that somebody else won’t lift his country out of trouble and Putin should change, of course. I am personally disappointed with PCR’s latest work. It is just ranting at everyone else. If he had focused his essay on Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, New York, and so on, he would find mobs running around burning down buildings and beating down Asian-looking people.
If men are allowing themselves to be feminized, men should deal with that. And equally, I don’t like the strident and mostly misdirected young women and the impoverished learning environment in western climes and the women defense ministers. It is everywhere. The demolition of the traditional roles and identity of men and women in the West is everywhere, not just in Europe. We can deal with this and discuss this without being exceedingly rude. The westerners have real deep problems and showing up in every country in a different guise.
Nobody lives in a bubble. To lay blame on the Europeans, and for heaven’s sake, the Russians does not bring anyone anywhere. It is non-productive. I guess I did not say anything or comment on the interview, and I did not say anything or comment on the latest, so, I’ve had my say and my comment. I hope this does not break down bonds and we can build them up again.
This wholesale condemnation of others is getting old.
“Here, one can see an old man expressing his hate.”
I’m not convinced. Rather than expressing his wrath, the picture more readily lends itself to depicting an old gentleman suffering acutely from the “grapes of wrath”! Look at it again and tell me I’m wrong!
So far as PCR is concerned, I have read his articles for many years, and consider him a man of the old school — respect for women, respect for rational behaviour and above all, respect for truth. On can disagree with his opinions a times, but it is frankly impossible to agree with others 100% of the time, we are all individuals.
Also, as he has often stated, on many occasions his quotations and references in his articles of other writers’ statements have been twisted by various media commentators to appear as though they were his own, either through deliberate deception or just plain ignorance.
PCR is one of a tiny band of bravehearts who dare speak to truth to power and we should all be glad of that. A CNN-only world would be literally hell on earth.
Interesting article.
Let me put it this way:
It is the courage of the Saker that he posts this while he doesn’t full agree with it.
It is the courage of Paul Schmutz Schaller to post things that people might not agree with.
It is my risk as a commentator to write things that people might not agree with. Ýet I do that, while I’m not afraid of that. I’m not a military analyst or a politician, I’m just an engineer. But I see around me that people are getting afraid to raise their voice and ‘authorities’ are pushing shove to get their ‘official narrative’ getting around and chasing people who might not agree.
This is dangerous. More and more it is getting rare to have an adult conversation with someone you don’t necessarily agree with. It is adult to listen to each others points of view and still have respect for each other. We cannot afford not doing this in these dangerous times.
People might disagree with me, I’ll listen.
In the meantime, all of you stay safe and healthy, cheers, Rob
Mr. Paul Schmutz Schaller, Your opinions are certainly very respectable but they are only “your” opinions. Your “red lines” belong to you and are certainly linked to you personally.
However, when you express yourself on certain subjects you should only speak about what you have personally experienced.
I am French, living in France and I cannot admit what you assume about France and its leaders.
Many of the members of the different governments that have succeeded each other are people whose corruption is proven.
Just to mention Sarkosy, former president of France, he is currently under numerous charges of crimes and has already been convicted for some.
And so, the approval rating for our current president is one of the lowest we have had since the end of WW2.
On another of the points you raise, concerning the feminization of men in the EU, I would like to share with you a ruling made by the Court of Cassation of Northern France. Here is a link to an article published in the newspaper “Valeurs Actuelles
https://www.valeursactuelles.com/faits-divers/un-homme-qui-na-pas-les-codes-culturels…
“”””” Translation ”
A man who does not have “the cultural codes” acquitted for a rape on minor.
Justice. A young man from Bangladesh, accused of raping a high school student, was acquitted by the Assize Court of La Manche. He was also tried for sexual assault on a minor and received a suspended sentence.

There was a time when a rape of a minor was worth 15 to 20 years in prison to its author!
But once in prison, these rapists had to be put away, isolated from other prisoners so as not to be lynched.
Today, in front of young women assaulted in the subway, which is common, men turn their heads and pretend they do not see.
I don’t know how you would define this attitude, but personally I agree with the word “feminization” of men.
What a disappointing article by the highly respected PCR and even more disappointing commentary both on that thread and here. In a desert of oligarch controlled surreal narrative, the Saker blog has been an oasis of objectivity. I can understand the deep felt frustration behind PCR’s article, but wild inflammatory statements and dog whistle racist precepts do him and the other commentators a disservice.
As the son of immigrants and an immigrant as a child to the UK in the 60s we experienced vicious post colonial racism in schools, on the streets, from officialdom and in the workplace. Our home was petrol bombed at night, Asian women were regularly spat on and harassed in broad daylight, my teenage brother was attacked by 2 carloads of racist skinheads armed with baseball bats. Our mixed soccer team often had to fight pitch battles every time dog whistle racists like Enoch Powell made a speech and the police always arrested us.
We were not tourist immigrants but invited because of the post war labour shortage. the British elite had devastated the economy of India and shattered the subcontinent politically in their rape of it. When they went there Moghul India was 27% of global GDP, when they left it was 5%, every industry, even textile wiped out. The entire education budget of British India in 1850 was less than that of NY city. We arrived as a direct result of the occupation and rape of India. You will find that all immigrants have the same reason. Europe destroyed their homes and left them little choice, just like the EU destruction of E Europe and consequent mass migration west.
As a parent and now a grandparent, I can only imagine the apprehension of our parents when they saw me returning home with cuts, bruises and stitches. But we fought those battles, educated, forged professional careers despite the racist rejections and glass ceilings, and saw society changing positively. To you, ‘inclusivity’ is something to be sneered, to me it means my grandchildren can walk outside without racist assault.
While we continue this shallow dialogue of ‘us and them’ the world will become a more unpleasant place. This is not an existential struggle between ‘Christians’ and ‘Muslims’ or ‘brown’ and ‘white’. In 1820 when the British empire was approaching its peak, 99% of Brits did not have the vote and lived half starved. At its Victorian zenith, the 99% lived in poor houses and worked in workhouses. After the battle of Waterloo, Wellington was given £750,000 but the crushed ‘victorious’ troops straggled back to hunger and deprivation.
This was something the Russian peasantry and soon after the Chinese peasantry realised. The enemy was not without, but the 1% within.
The rise of the billionaire oligarchy now is taking us back to the feudal oligarch era of 1820. If the 99% allow ourselves to be distracted by these fake existential conflicts we doom ourselves. Our lens cannot be controlled by these hate filled dialogues.
Russia’s predominant landmass is Asian. It cannot survive if it hates itself. The oligarchy controls the Anglo Zionist empire, and will not stop until Russia is dismembered and raped for its resources, and China is crushed because it offers an alternative model. But first the oligarchy will crush and consume its own 99%, us.
Great comment.
Thank you for posting it.
PaulCR’s piece was frank and blunt. But the account of it, and of him, given by PaulSS is a travesty. That’s not the picture any long time follower of PaulCR’s writings get: A crusty old conservative USAmerican, sure. But a homophobe and women-belittler. Not that I’ve ever noticed. PaulCR seems to me to express the usual – slightly uncomfortable for conservatives – acceptance of women’s and gay rights quite sincerely, even if he detests the crazier outgrowths of wokery which have been erected on those basically sound foundations recently. Get PaulCR right, PaulSS!
I’ve always valued PCR’s articles (though not as much as the Saker’s), but as a woman, I did find the tone of his last article disturbing. I certainly agree that European men should be defending women in danger, theirs or not, if that is not happening. I may even shock you by saying that other women should, too. (We can actually often do it effectively.) His other specific criticisms sound reasonable, too.
I worked in a male-dominated field for many years, so I’m inured to genital insults, although it may be worth mentioning that pussy is most often said in a tone of contempt, as compared to the indignation or anger generally heard with prick, etc.
However, feminimity is not synonymous with wimpiness, cowardice, incompetence, or lack of principles. That is a very unfortunate title.
Hello all and Ura !!! today is 9 May, the most important date in the 20th century!!
I don’t know who Paul Schmutz Schaller is, but I think he is Swiss, as am I. However I do understand how US Americans think and for me, Mr. Schaller has reacted to how Mr. Roberts sees the world and thus how he writes about it. One needs to take Mr. Roberts sometimes with the proverbial grain of salt and not react, but instead respond with some objective distance to Mr. Roberts, sometimes overhyped US American view of the world. The US American is a strange sort of human, even those who are on our side. They are a bit like children and one has to excuse their excesses (only those who are on our side). I live in Russia since even before VVP came on the scene and fully, thank God, now know how things are seen from here. So, my two cents for Mr. Schaller, if he is reading this is to not be so Swiss and to relax a bit about how Mr. Roberts formulates his opinions. And I would suggest that he backtrack a bit and to keep writing for the Saker blog as his points of view are thought provoking, and, at the end of the day, if we want to keep the Hegemon safely locked away in his lair, intellectual ideas of all shades and colours need to be published and commented on.
Regards his take on PCR, he definitely misses the mark widely. But he makes good point sometimes I wonder if he (PCR) has interns he is training up to pen articles as definitely different styles and the one mention is much poorer quality than some I agree. Anyway.. Justsayin
Hello.
I understand that Western (both EU and US) education system produces mainly ignoramuses, and your disinformation mass media have been brain-washing you for centuries…
But you seem to be able at least to read and write, don’t you?
Could you please have a look at the following links?
1) https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pussy
“a weak or cowardly man or boy”
2) https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4218648/british-pakistani-men-raping-exploiting-white-girls/
“Child abuse is massive in this country. Children’s charities estimate that one in four girls and one in six boys will experience some form of sexual abuse before the age of 18.”
“the convictions have largely been against British Pakistani men”

I assume that you can read and have looked at the links above.
Do you still believe that there is no such thing as American English (in which Dr. Roberts speaks and writes)?
Do you still believe that there are no millions of women and girls on a daily basis raped by Africans, Arabs, and etc. all over the Europe?
I do hope that you did not take these words of mine as personal insults or offences – these sharp words were to show you how your article is seen by anybody outside the disinformation bubble of the West…
Not to know that there is an American English?
Not to know such basic facts (known to everybody in Russia, China, and Iran) about immigrants raping millions of European women with impunity?

Frankly speaking, I’d advise any Westerner, who is really looking for true news and information to learn Russian, Chinese or Farsi (another reason to do it would be to learn in advance the language of victors in the hybrid war that Israel, England, and the USA unleashed against these countries and peoples in the 21 century)…
