As the other threads are getting unwieldy with comments, please use this open thread today for comments and reporting facts.
As you can see from the header, the ‘Russia is going to invade imminently’ meme even has a euphemistic campaign name to cover the extremely dangerous information warfare and psychological warfare against Russia and, against the Ukraine as well. One can think of them what you want, but they are still a country and this campaign is highly destructive to a country that is already almost destroyed.
The one fact that we did not mention in the previous threads is new, and this is the cancellation of insurance and re-insurance for private airplanes and airlines over the Ukrainian airspace. It is a complex issue, and information sources differ. What seems to hold water though is that from tomorrow airlines will not be flying over the airspace and private rented planes have been notified that they will have no insurance.
So far, there is no formal Kremlin read-out of the Putin/Biden telephone call yesterday.
So, here is the new open thread, and updates will be added here for today.
UPDATE:
Yury Ushakov briefed media representatives on the telephone conversation between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of the United States Joseph Biden.
* * *
Aide to the President Yury Ushakov: Good evening!
A telephone conversation between the President of the Russian Federation and the President of the United States has just concluded. It lasted for just over an hour. The call was as a follow-up of sorts on the December 7 videoconference talks between Russia and the United States, and the December 30 telephone conversation. It was during those conversations that the two leaders began discussing one of the most important issues on the current agenda, namely long-term legally binding security guarantees for the Russian Federation.
Today’s conversation was held, as everyone knows, against the backdrop of an unprecedented push by US official to whip up hysteria over the allegedly imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine. Incidentally, in requesting that the telephone conversation be held today, instead of on Monday as it was previously scheduled, the US cited the likelihood of this catastrophic scenario.
Similar requests for urgent conversations have been filed by other members of the Biden administration, who talked over the phone with many of their Russian colleagues yesterday and today. It was thus a coordinated effort to pump out hysteria about the “invasion,” which is now at its height.
Coming back to the conversation between the presidents of Russia and the United States, it can be said that the tone was rather balanced and business-like. President Biden even talked about the experience of his predecessors who made every effort during the Cold War to avoid the catastrophe of a serious military conflict between our two nations.
He said that our two great nations were still rivals but that we must take every effort to maintain stability and security in the world. He also stressed that every effort needs to be taken to avoid the worst scenario as concerns the current situation around Ukraine. He said he was a proponent of diplomacy and laid down a whole raft of proposals that he believes reflect many of Russia’s concerns and initiatives that we outlined and relayed to the US and NATO in the draft documents on security guarantees.
I want to note straight away that the Russian President responded by saying that Russia was going to carefully study President Biden’s proposals and would certainly pay due consideration to them. He made clear, however, that these proposals did not really address the central, key elements of Russia’s initiatives either with regards to non-expansion of NATO, or non-deployment of strike weapons systems on Ukrainian territory, or NATO’s return to the positions that existed at the moment of signing the 1997 Russia-NATO Founding Act. To these items, we have received no meaningful response.
Many of the suggestions that were put forward during the conversation were part of the January 26 response to Russia’s proposals relayed to us by Washington and NATO.
Speaking about the tense situation around Ukraine, Joseph Biden made a mention, as might have been expected, of the possibility of harsh sanctions against Russia, but they were not the focus of his rather lengthy conversation with the Russian leader.
Our President detailed Russia’s principled approaches and explained why the time has come to resolve issues that have a direct bearing on the Russian national security.
The President of Russia presented his overview of the history of relations between the US, NATO and Russia that has led to this crisis. He said, in particular, that the Soviet Union and the United States were certainly adversaries during the Cold War; and that although we were friends of sorts in the 1990s, even then the US and NATO did not pursue a constructive policy towards Russia. That was the time of NATO’s practical expansion of its operations, its admitting new members and moving closer towards Russian borders.
This was followed by the stark worsening of the Euro-Atlantic security architecture in the 2000s, which has had a direct impact on the security of our country.
What else did I want to note? The Russian President went into equally great detail about the Ukrainian Government’s destructive policies aimed at sabotaging the Minsk Agreements, which have been ongoing for the previous eight years. He noted that the West did not exert enough pressure on Kiev to follow through on its commitments under the agreements. The President of Russia also highlighted the dangers of a militarized Ukraine and the on-going injections of cutting-edge weaponry, which the West has been steadfastly involved in and which has been encouraging the Ukrainian military to stage provocations both against Donbass and Crimea.
In light of Ukraine’s doctrinal policy which explicitly states its goal to retake Crimea by force, the hypothetical admission of that country to NATO is fraught with dire consequences, including direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO, at the very least due the US’ recognition of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty as being sacred. This is what our President spoke in detail about during the conversation.
Overall, the presidents agreed that Moscow was going to carefully study the proposals put forward by President Biden and where possible, will take them into consideration in its response to the position documents drafted by the US and NATO. We will make this response known to our partners and members of the general public in the nearest future.
Building on Joseph Biden’s desire for the US-Russia relations to be based on mutual respect, the presidents agreed to continue contacts on various levels on all the issues discussed during the telephone conversation today. I would like to stress once again that overall, the conversation was business-like.
Thank you.
Question: Can you tell us if today’s conversation has shed any light on US motives? If President Biden knew that he was going to talk to Vladimir Putin on the phone, why did he announce a Russian “invasion” on February 16, which shook the entire world?
Is it possible that after the two heads of state have spoken today, President Biden can still set a new date for this “invasion” for tomorrow or the day after? Such a statement will only provoke further concerns globally. How are we supposed to interpret this?
Yury Ushakov: You know very well that tensions have been stoked over our troops’ movements on Russian territory, albeit close to the Ukrainian border, for several months now. I agree completely that the whole situation has reached absurd levels in the past days and hours. But here are the facts: the US is stoking hysteria over our so-called planned Russian “invasion,” giving even the dates of this “invasion,” all the while working jointly with its allies to build up Ukraine’s “military muscle.” Significant funds are being allocated to modernize the Ukrainian armed forces, and more military instructors are being sent there. So, the “invasion” chorus is a backdrop to create opportunities for possible provocations by the Ukrainian military.
This is our view of the situation.
Question: Is it possible the US will continue to act like this?
Yury Ushakov: I don’t know. It’s the US that chooses to go down this road. We have made our thoughts known and have said repeatedly that we can’t understand why mass media have been feeding false narratives about Russia’s intentions.
Question: Did the presidents discuss the incident with the US submarine in Russia’s territorial waters?
Yury Ushakov: No, they didn’t. We are aware of the incident, and necessary actions are being taken by the Defence Ministry, but the subject was not raised during the conversation between the two presidents.
Question: Can you tell us if Russia made clear what it would do in the event Ukraine’s Government decided to provoke conflict in Donbass? What will Russia do then?
Yury Ushakov: We emphasised, firstly, that we were going to consider the proposals put forward by President Biden today, even though they overlap to a great deal with the US and NATO responses we have already received. We also indicated that an interdepartmental discussion of possible responses was nearly finished. The results will be made public in the near future.
Question: The US has already shared its views on the telephone call. In particular, they continue to claim that they still don’t know if any actions follow, and what President Putin’s plans are for a potential “invasion” of Ukraine.
Yury Ushakov: To be honest, I haven’t seen the American interpretation of the call yet. However, I have shared with you what we had to say on the subject.
Question: Are there any discussions scheduled in the coming weeks?
Yury Ushakov: Like I said, the presidents agreed that discussions on various issues should continue. In particular we will discuss the issues that Joseph Biden raised today. Naturally, we will give priority to addressing those concerns that were clearly and publicly stated in the two draft documents.
Thank you.

“The one fact that we did not mention in the previous threads is new, and this is the cancellation of insurance and re-insurance for private airplanes and airlines over the Ukrainian airspace. ”
Too much risk of civilian aircraft being shot down by US/NATO in false flag.
Also, now it appears that the US submarine in Russian territorial waters was discovered by accident, putting into doubt my previous speculations.
https://avia-pro.net/news/amerikanskaya-submarina-byla-obnaruzhena-v-rossiyskih-territorialnyh-vodah-sluchayno-oshibku
Yet, they are calling it a “serious miscalculation” by the USN. If this is true, I would expect at minimum the captain to be relieved of command. It is also now being framed as a lesson to Russia to tighten its maritime surveillance.
Stahl, for information. The site that you linked is not considered reliable by the serious analysts and experienced and knowledgeable commentators here.
Yes, thank you for pointing this out. I agree and almost put that into my comment. I am skeptical of this source, and some of their claims are indeed extravagant. Yet, the suggestion that it was discovered by accident came up in another more sober source as well. Though, I forget where.
Stahl, and you are stubborn … – I answered you conclusively that there was no chance in the discovery of a US nuclear submarine! The Russian border is closed! And the Kurilsik straits and the Arctic shelf and all strategic water areas.
Re-read my answer – you will understand that you are wrong.
And if you do not understand, read again and again until the obvious comes to your mind.
If you are referring to my post in a previous article, then, yes, I re-read your reply several times but still did not fully understand it. I was not sure if you were adding to my post or being critical of it. It seemed like a list of other anti-submarine warfare resources that Russia possesses. So, yes, there is a wide array of systems not mentioned. However, while I find myself ceaselessly impressed by the performance of the Russian military, I cannot bring myself to attribute to them super-human perfection as some posters are inclined. Therefore, if you are implying that Russia has some sort of impenetrable ASW shield, I will beg to disagree, though I do not discount significant advances. In any case and no matter how, the US sub was compromised. But do please state the obvious in the event that I am missing something.

Mod: Further replies should add new information. No need to write just to add “re-read my previous comment”. Let others decide who is right based on available information.
The meaning of my answer was that the press cannot be trusted, and any. Especially the one that quotes the words of an unnamed source.
Hinting that the 1st-rank frigate of the Russian Navy could receive target designation not only from the Il-38, but from its GAS, from the GAS (hydroacoustic station for detecting underwater sabotage forces and means) of the Anapa-ME type
The purpose of which is to monitor the underwater situation for the purpose of anti-sabotage defense of ships and vessels anchored in bases, on raids and in harbors, as well as in order to protect important marine and coastal facilities.
GAS “Anapa-ME” solves the following tasks:
• search and detection of divers moving on fins and using tugboats;
• classification of detected objects and automated tracking;
• measuring the current coordinates of targets and issuing them to the control system of anti-sabotage grenade launchers., from
Then I listed some systems for protecting the maritime border and water areas of the Russian Federation, reconnaissance, surveillance, escort, communications, control … integrated into the Unified Information System (UIS) and in service with the Russian Armed Forces:
– underwater sonar tracking system (PSGAS) “Harmony” based on ABS (robotic autonomous bottom stations) and bottom hose sonar antennas of passive acoustic reconnaissance “http://robotrends.ru/robopedia/garmoniya”;
– navigation and communication system (SniS) “Positioner” based on AUUV (Autonomous Unmanned Undersea Vehicle) and sonar buoys (floating, underwater and frozen) connected via Gonets-D1M satellites to the Command Center.
– …
The main term was the “Unified Information System” of the Navy as one of the military domains/spheres/spaces.
And he advised you and the forum users to remember the abbreviations, which have long been common with us:
ABS – robotic autonomous bottom stations
AUUV – Autonomous Unmanned Undersea Vehicle
LDUUV – Large Displacement Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (RC Submarine)
RMS – Remote Mine-Hunting System.
ROV – Remotely Operated Vehicle
UHSV – Unmanned Harbor Security Vehicle – unmanned port security vehicle
UUV – Unmanned Undersea Vehicle.
And you can only believe in God, you should doubt everything else – this is your right and a useful property.
But there can be no “accidents” in this incident! And to think so, especially to write “accidentally discovered” – is to write out a diagnosis of an idiot and make yourself a laughing stock.
Sorry for the harshness, but I can’t do otherwise – there are no politeness in the barracks. But I try to be correct, even though it is very difficult for me.
– With no less respect
Well, the fact that the sub was is in the news at all is a major score for the Russian navy, and a big red ‘fail’ for the USN. ‘Miscalculation’ sounds like an attempt to spin it.
The one and only thing subs do is stealth. You are not supposed to read about them in the news.
True. ‘Stealth’ is the bottom line. No sub should ever be detected, “accidentally” or otherwise. In that sense it is a major score. I’m assuming that by “accidentally” it means the Russian Navy wasn’t specifically looking for it. They were just conducting exercises. So either Russian sensors have become very good, or the captain of the US sub really did miscalculate. Yet, on the other hand, the location where the sub was detected could have been in a location where the sub should never have penetrated; suggesting it was able to evade Russian maritime surveillance systems to reach that point. In that case, a tightening of security may be in order. There is not enough information for any firm conclusion as yet. If there is a USN investigation like with the South China Sea incident, and information is made public, it may provide more clues.
I think Russian Navy should activate some underwater mountains in future.
We are constantly changing landscapes and terrain
In the latest plans of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Polish and Hungarian Seas through the Slovak Isthmus.
The observed characteristics of the reported underwater decoy that was apparently launched should allow some fine tuning of any future responses that may be required.
You are pretty good at ‘splitting hairs’ – Think of the situation as a ‘barrier’ or a ‘minefield’ – the Russian systems are designed to capture any intruder that comes near to their maritime ‘red-line’ – so there is no ‘accidental detection’ and no ‘specific searching’ but a constant real-time observation of the ‘field’ – giving a stream of info which is relayed through several subsystems. It is altogether natural that there are places outside of this networked coverage but when unusual activity is detected by all the systems, the whole network is able to activate a fast response…which is the main purpose.
So based on what i have understood, the Russian system is superbly networked, does not need to cover all the worlds oceans and so the security does not need to be tightened, when the system showed just how effective it has been.
I would not trust a ‘USN investigation to provide more clues.’ They have already lied publicly.
i dont perceive it as a miscalculation on the part of the US sub. It seemed rather to be a deliberate attempt to ‘test’ the Russian response / resolve.. just another attempt at ‘poking the bear’ …
My first job was with a company that provided part of the sonar subsystem in the Icelandic – UK Gap
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SOSUS – There is mention of Colossus, which is a ‘barrier’ system….cables strung along the seabed with sonar underwater, as well as in buoys anchored to the seabed, the system communicated with shore-based control which sent out aircraft to the area for closer observation.
‘Knowing the Russians’ i would say unequivocally that their current ‘detection’ systems are way ahead of anything that NATO has…
Given the source is compromised…
Best assume…..
Discovery of the sub was not recognized for what it was…. successful ASW on the part of the Russian Navy…
Because….
The sub was within “Territorial Waters”… which means… within 12 NM of the shoreline….
Which means… sub was using irregular bottom contours that occur within the littoral to avoid detection…
via SONAR masking from bottom reflection(s)…..
So…… implied….. the SONAR operators aboard the Russian ASW screen… found an anomaly….
reported same…. were ordered to battle stations…. ASW helos were sent aloft with sono bouys…
An ASW evolution was setup, including a sonobouy pattern… possibly ASW air assets with magetometers…
And…
Voila!
The sub was found!…
INDY
My guess is that Russia knows exactly where all US subs are.
This incident was just to give a hint to the US.

Very thoughtful of you. Cannot be like our enemies, who urinate on dead bodies of those who they kill, or take pictures of them with their feet upon the dead like trophies. Ukrainian people are suffering at the hands of the neo-Nazis and their masters in the West, and Russia’s goal is not to worsen their plight. On the contrary.
Lone Wolf
Thanks Lone Wolf. I’ve been wanting to just acknowledge some of your comments over the past hectic few days, but alas, lots and lots of data.
Let me say it now .. you’ve made some excellent comments!
Lone Wolf, I agree. When the west are done with The Ukraine it will still be a failed state on Russia’s border.
In the long run it will be less expensive for Russia to rescue The Ukraine than to try to manage a failed state.
This is not the assessment of all of the analysts on this issue that I know. If the Ukraine wants to be a failed state, they must do so. Russia must not pick up the cost of this, or the work of this. Please go and do a search on the right hand side for ‘Ukraine’ and you will find many analysts saying this very same thing.
The US/NATO has just left Afghanistan in tatters and in hunger and stole their funds. They destroy but take no responsibility. Somebody must pay for the Ukrainian situation and it will not be Russia. Can you imagine trying to de-nazify that place for a start?
Whereas I certainly have empathy for the ordinary person caught up in this, I am not for a moment saying Russia should pick up this cost. Let the EU do it. Let NATO do it. Let the US do it.
Right on!! An expat living in Odessa and staying!
Without the protection of a ‘no-fly’ zone and a significant advanced weapons strike superiority (and even with ), America sucks at WAR, I mean really sucks. Facing off against Russia is the Ultimate Farce for a nation (&allies) who could not defeat Insurgents/militants (usually a banned rightful indigenous ruler/group, like the Taliban over the course of 20 years).
These Power Dick Opportunists know this, but the name of their game is to Occupy this/that Resource, fortify it, then happily fight XYZ in other remote areas in the country. The Price for the local population is death or displacement. Invite in some of them Isisrael & HTS ali queerda folks to the party, equals Chaos, perfect. MIC Happy Bunnies.
That there are European Governments who’ll throw their own citizens down the shithole under a bus for American Interests, first & foremost, must be considered High Treason and those said Politicians, Civil Servants, Military/Defence Personnel & Private Interests, must be held answerable, preferably with Street Justice Lampposts.
Amarynth, the USA, UK, NATO and EU all live far beyond their means, currency debasement, debt and the dollar as world reserve currency prop up an increasingly hollow shell. Flaws in their education system, industrial base and obsolete military ensure that they will go through a collapse at least as bad as the USSR, if not worse, in the very near future, the process is irreversible at this stage. They will have no resources to help The Ukraine.
Obviously a prosperous and pro Russian Ukraine is in Russia;s long term interest. The average Ukrainian did not ask America to organize a coup in 2014 and the results have been devastating for their population, economy and security. They had a pro Russian government, that is why America forced a coup on them.
In terms of world power Russia, China and the rest of zone B already surpass the Empire and will continue to do so for a generation or so. The Belt and Road initiative will transform the world economy and create a bigger pie where everyone has a fair chance to lift their nation’s out of poverty. Hegemony and divide and rule global political infrastructure has failed. It is time for a new vision of global politics.
President Putin has said that The Ukraine is part of greater Russia, part of a fraternal brotherhood.
Of course Russia will rehabilitate The Ukraine, it is in their own best long term interests, although it may take some time, a generation.
I have mentioned this a few times in my own pontifications: I have Ukrainian friends in London and living in Western and Eastern Ukraine and they are all publicly keeping silent but privately telling me they would be extremely happy if Russia invaded and helped to clean up the place. The UK Sunday MSM this weekend, was full of distorted reporting but journalists noted just how all the “North American and Western European” folks were panicking and getting out asap, but that the locals “seemed strangely complacent and did not seem to worry about a possible invasion.” This perplexed the journalists as it did not fit in with the carefully crafted narrative – but that is almost common-sense: Many Ukrainians like to stay in their homes and live a normal peaceful life and if a Russian invasion were to change their life for the better, they would welcome it…but the current bullying by rampaging street-thugs does not encourage the ordinary citizen to do another Maidan and get shot at by Israeli/Turkish/UK /US snipers.again.
if i look at the Ukrainian world in 1945 and compare it to the Ukrainian economy in 1980, then there is no reason to doubt that the Ukraine can recover and be prosperous once more…so i agree with you, it will take time and it is definitely in Russians interests to completely seal the Ukraine into its own Union State border after doing some house-cleaning.
This leads me to ask : someone mentioned on the Saker website, that when the USSR ‘disintegrated’ in 1990, Russia recognised the sovereignty of the Ukraine but, the Union State was not legally dissolved Would this not imply that Russia continues to have a legal claim to integrate the Ukraine back into its Union? and it reinforces the illegality of the 2014 putsch, taking place on Union State territory. or was the current legal form of the Union State formed only later?
Analyst, one day the USSR was a mighty Empire with influence all over the globe, the next they were gone.
Of course there was a period of adjustment as the implications of the new global political infrastructure became clearer.
The Russian ultimatum/red lines/demands in effect are asking America to surrender. If America took its Eastern European military posture back to 1997 and nukes back to homeland soil, that would be an admission that Russia/China are superior. They are being politely asked to accept a USSR solution. If they refuse “technical and military” means will be used to force them to comply, and the outcome will be far worse.
The reality is that the American Empire is finished, Russia/China/Iran and zone B already are forming a new global political reality, this is the period of adjustment, already nations such as France and Germany are rejecting the empire and mending their relationship with zone B.
Russia does not have a problem with The Ukraine, the problem is America’s constant interference in Ukraine’s affairs, even Zelensky is backing off from America.
All the worlds hot spots, Ukraine, Taiwan, Syria, south America, etc, etc will look very different by the end of this year or shortly thereafter.
The wild card is Israel, without America they are toast, what will they do?
The people who live in the Ukraine and Russia are basically brothers who are being encouraged to commit a war of fratricide by the modern-day colonial powers. Like they have done all over the world during the last two centuries. From my limited experience, both are very generous and warmhearted people who really cannot be distinguished from one another. They are both possessed of the “Russian soul”, so evident in the writings of Tolstoy, Chekov, Gorky, and Sholokhov. This soul, whose psychology is so different from the Anglo-Saxon one, belongs to Asia and not Europe. The Saker is right about this.
Back when America used to have an anti-war movement, it used to be noted that CNN always seemed to have both graphics and music ready for the beginning of the war.
Before the war, the foreign leader of the soon-to-be attacked country would of course be the regular target of the “2 Minute Hates” (see G.Orwell if you don’t know the term). And of course, the propaganda personally demonized him as the problem. Thus it has always been Noreiga not Panama, Saddam not Iraq, Ghaddafi not Libya, etc.
And, it was also noticeable that the war always began a few weeks after these “Hates” were escalated to call the soon to be attacked leader as “the next Hitler.” This used to be a sure sign that the decision for war had been made and that it would soon begin.
And, now that they are moving “Maiden” to Ottawa and now the USA, no, it wouldn’t surprise me if they don’t need Kiev anymore. I hope those ‘truckers’ know to look out for snipers.
Interesting comment. The leader of the AustraliaOne party, Riccardo Bossi, addressed the protesters camped in Canberra a week ago and stressed that the protest was to be non violent. He specifically mentioned to possibility that they would face police snipers and that the only response was to remain calm and not get violent.
The speech is on their telegram site.
Easy for him to say……
Bossi is a retired SAS Colonel, and one could reasonably expect him to be fully aware of the the tactial details of the 5 eyes playbook
Ahhh yes, but to my thinking police infiltration would be the tactics of the day.
By the way, most former SAS soldiers normally enter either the police farce or the Intel services. I met a couple of them during my Port Arthur days.
Apparently the Russian State Duma is due to vote today, 14 February, on recognising the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic. This could be a defining moment in the “Ukrainian crisis”.
After all, every people has a right of self-determination.
And every country has a right to pick its own allies.
:)
Conflict of law – contradiction between principles
The right of peoples to self-determination conflicts with the international principle “On unity and
territorial integrity of the state”. contradiction between these two principles.
Modern international law, on the one hand, affirms freedom of self-determination as a fundamental principle; on the other hand, it insists on the territorial integrity of states, moreover, on their political, national
unity as a strategic principle of international relations and domestic politics.
For example, the Declaration of Independence
colonial countries and peoples”, demanding “respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of all peoples”, at the same time asserts: “Any attempt aimed at partially or completely destroying national unity and
territorial integrity of the country is incompatible with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations” (para. 6), that all states must respect “the sovereign rights of all peoples and the territorial integrity of their states”.
To my mind the rights of peoples must trump the rights of states.
This should be decided by a referendum.
But referendums were not held, neither in Yugoslavia, nor in Ukraine, nor in the USSR … nor in other divided states if the result did not satisfy the United States.
From this and discontent, easily turning into a war.
When considering the sovereignty of States, external pressures must be considered, and history. If I remember correctly, the IMF wanted a guarantee on territorial integrity before authorising the loan. But my memory is not great about these things.
For your information regarding Ukraine in 2014 and later externally induced economic problems:
https://www.pressenza.com/2014/07/ukraine-yatsenyuk-resigns-amidst-pressures-exerted-imf/
“What is implied by Poroshenko’s statement is that the parliamentary process is slated to become defunct inasmuch as Rada is obligated to adopt the legislation demanded by the IMF and the European Union. And if the Rada does not adopt the legislation, the composition of the Parliament will be changed through a process of outright political manipulation.
The 2014 budget project demanded by the IMF includes massive cuts in social spending coupled with increased allocations to the Armed Forces. Its adoption will contribute (virtually overnight) to a further process of the impoverishment of the Ukraine population.”
“Yury Ushakov: We emphasised, firstly, that we were going to consider the proposals put forward by President Biden today, even though they overlap to a great deal with the US and NATO responses we have already received. I think Mr. Ushakov is indicating the result of the vote on recognising the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic here. Russia looks set to create its own Article 5. Political checkmate and perhaps the reason behind the “Russia is going to attack any minute” hysteria in the Western propaganda organs. It might be now or never for the so called West.
And on February 15-20, Russia will hold the Grom-22 strategic command and staff maneuvers.

Russia needs to get out of the Olympic movement spoiled by the West!
Russia
12.02.2022 inforussone
The mean way our figure skater Valieva is now being treated at the Olympics, how, without a final accusation, she was cynically “hung” on a hook waiting for a verdict with a subtle calculation that the nervous system of a 15-year-old girl would not stand it and she would tremble, make a mistake – once again demonstrates that cheaters cannot be played by the rules.
I repeat for the thousandth time: Russia made a systematic mistake, admitting all accusations of “doping” and swallowing all the punishments. Everything that happens in Olympic sports after Sochi 2014 is the revenge of our “partners” for our incredible success in the Games and for opposing globalism. This does not remove responsibility from sports officials, who are more comfortable currying favor with Western functionaries than defending Russia’s rights, but that’s not the point.
It is long overdue for a fundamental decision of the country’s leadership, which will stop the humiliation of Russia in sports. All athletes use pharmacology, otherwise the modern sport of high achievements and commercial competitions would not be possible – and basically only Russia is punished and they do it methodically and carefully.
The only worthy way out for Russia is to accuse the IOC and Western sports structures of discrediting the Olympics, to get and publish the facts of bribery and doping fraud in the interests of Western athletes and to withdraw from the spoiled Olympic movement.
And not just to leave, but to immediately create a new Olympic movement (call it, for example, the Friendship Games of Peoples), lead it, come up with fair rules for participation with an emphasis on amateur sports and invite all sovereign countries to it. To do all this under the slogan of returning the principles of fair competition to sports.
Yes, it will be a difficult road, you will have to work hard to solve a lot of problems, overcome the resistance of sports commerce, convince other countries to take risks and so on and so forth. But the path of struggle is always more worthy of conciliation and concern, and only in this way can victory be achieved.

The thoughts are correct, but they are not mine. This is an article from a Russian website. The link is at the end.
I will say only this:
This war is in the first play an ideological and psychological one. Sports are a very important part of a nation image and pride. The objective is to destabilize psychologically the Russians and undermine the authority of the Russian leaders. Russia’s leadership have been ignoring this for too long.
On the one hand, words are useless in front of massive abuse, injustice and distortion. Only actions can convince the monsters that have dare to inflict such a psychological pain on a fifteen years old girl (showing that they have no barriers, moral or of any other kind), that they should cease and desist once and for all. On the other hand, Russia should not follow anymore (pertain to, participe in) those corrupt rules and institutions which are simply weapons in the West dirty and inhuman war against Russia and the Russians. Enough is enough.

This is what I don’t understand – When Putin is on the blower to Biden for an hour and 20 minutes, why doesn’t he once ask to speak to the Boss, the MoFo’s running the Show? Come on, Joe couldn’t run a bath, we all know this, Putin knows this.

Regarding “the cancellation of insurance and re-insurance for private airplanes and airlines over the Ukrainian airspace”, in Every policy I’ve ever held, whether property, health, life, flood, whatever, there has Always been a paragraph or clause excluding claims resulting from warfare or government skullduggery.
Eliminating insurance against “normal” accidents could be “We’re just stopping MH17 payouts”, or it could be a “How can we screw em over even more?” policy. I lean towards the former.

I agree.
I would not travel Lufthansa in 2022, on routes over Ukraine… That would be one quick way to get NS2 cancelled, and force Germany’s hand.
Also note one of the first carriers mentioned steering clear of those skies – the Dutch KLM who led the infamous MH17 Joint Investigative Team. They know their allies well..
There is a U-Tuber who was a sonar man on a US sub and does a lot of commentary on US navy stuff says he is getting a lot of coms from US military servicemen that US ships are being deployed with critical systems not functioning and the ships are incapable of performing their wartime task yet the ships are being deployed as if they were capable. And he is giving out the number to the “suicide help line”, because of all the contacts who state they are contemplating suicide
The more things change the more they stay the same.
I have spoken with more than one ex-USN sailor who served on surface ships during the cold war. They all said basically the same thing. They “deployed with critical systems not functioning” and were “incapable of performing their wartime task“. It seems the commands were always more interested in shiny decks and freshly painted bulkheads than in allocating resources to fix broken systems. It’s horrible and humiliating cognitive dissonance. No wonder so many contemplate ending their lives.
American warships are notorious for their rust, lack of paint, and general mess and lack of maintenance.
The ship crews used to be responsible for routine maintenance, but that work has been outsourced to civilian contractors, and it can only be done when the ships are in their home ports. With prolonged frequent deployments, broken equipment, rust, decay accumulates.
This would be direct result of the US disrupting the supply chains. We can’t get tires, rims, microchips, or even plastic resins. The microchip issues are directly linked to the US’s war on Huawei and other chip manufacturer’s based out of China.
The other disruptions were caused in part by some legal rulings in California that produced a backlog of container ships sitting outside the ports waiting to be unloaded. The ripple effect prevented those same ships from returning to reload on cargo.
Cheers!

Thanks for this info. It is really sad, as the US is collapsing in such stupid, preventable way (although the self-destruction has been going on for decades)… The US elites must pay for what they are doing/have done.
deepeye, your thoughts or some of them have been mine as well.
Russians have swallowed the charges of IOC , of their bribery hypocritical systems and of the cover up of other sports as well.
Take the american basketball. since how long have they, professionals of NBA, been accepted in the Olympics? how many players are there in the league, 500, 600 ?
So several generations of them have passed overtime.
Just watch what most of them do in the courts, almost super men movements in a normal game.
And how many of them have been harassed by a simple test, a mere hint of accusation of doping IN or OUT of any olympic events in the last 30 years? Perhaps for my blinddness, but i ve seen none. Bottom line, either most of them are real physical supermen or are perfect saints competing just for awwwes of TV entertainment.
Or, ok then, they re not Russians because…
I simply feel compelled to say that as an American citizen I feel deeply ashamed of my nation and what’s being done by the disordered and demonically pathological elite who attempt to rule over us and the world.
I can only pray that the suffering this world must experience bears good fruit in a future not perverted and defiled by these evil enemies of humanity as are the times we live in today.
This has been going on for generations. People never stopped struggling to change their condition, though. Their struggles were defeated by murders and other tactics, always under the US command with its many tentacles. Hundres of thousands, or millions of people have been murdered. Now, all my hopes are in Russia and China.
I know that “chit chat” and “rumours” on other blogs is not reliable, however sometimes interesting bits of info do get leaked / dropped / fed.
For example, on a British blog frequented by many ex service personnel, an ex-Army Officer made some interesting points:
Firstly, the missiles supplied by both the British and the US can be used against helicopters and slow and low flying aircraft (ie passenger and cargo jets coming into land / taking off). There are real world examples of this from several conflict areas, including Syria and Yemen where anti-tank missiles have been used aginst helicopters and planes on the ground.
Secondly, he pointed out that anti-tank missiles are also very good at demolishing small buildings and damaging large ones – such as HQ’s, Police Stations, power stations, and even embassies.
Thirdly, he also pointed out that Turkey have been sending anti-tank and other guided missiles to Ukraine for over a year – ostensibly for use on the Bayrackter drone, but they can be fitted to other NATO delivery systems and vehicles.
Finally, he suggested that some of the British guided missiles are now very likely in the hands of so called “Ukranian Nationalists” who may very well attempt to use one (or several) against soft targets such as embassy buildings or commercial jets on the ground / landing / taking off or in a false flag / provacation – which may be the real reason why commercial and private aircraft are being warned off and embassies evacuated.
Apparently the use of anti-tank and other guided missiles is limited more by the imagination and creativity of the operator / commander than by the weapon system itself.
I can provide the link to the blog if requested, otherwise I just submit this comment as food for thought.
Other chit chat via twitter is Fussia k ows of Takfiy miltants….and Erdogan advising Z do not cross Russian red lines……yup Ukrops regularly attack power and water substations-distribution plants.
“Scenario of Horror”
Exclusive interview with Russian Ambassador to Stockholm Viktor Tatarintsev: “Sorry for the wording – but we shit on Western sanctions.”
https://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/a/RrnBR5/ryssland-kan-inte-acceptera-att-sverige-gar-med-i-nato
There have been many, many ideas and opinions discussed in the Vineyard as to what actions Russia should or will take concerning Ukraine. They included military, tactical discussions regarding force deployment and weapons’ systems that may be used in the Black Sea region battlespace.
We see and hear news reports of the build up of U.S.-NATO assets inside Ukraine proper as well as a flotilla of U.S. naval ships loitering in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. We assume the strategy of the U.S. is to provoke Russia into moving into Ukraine as an excuse to engage in a counterstrike action.
However what IF . . the U.S.-NATO are not there to defend Kiev but to liberate it from the Azov Battalion Nazi in Kiev? The U.S.-NATO would then have an excuse under the UN Right to Protect doctrine to occupy Ukraine under the pretext of “peacekeeping.”
I believe this construct is a way for the U.S. to afford a legal argument to be in Ukraine since the Russians failed to eradicate the Nazi’s embedded in the Rada all these years. What could Russia do or say when the U.S. condemns Russia for not “finishing off the Nazi’s” to allow the full spectrum of democracy to flourish in the Ukraine?
Is it possible this is a hidden strategy of the U.S. State Department (certainly not from President Biden) to fool the Russians into believing the U.S. wants martial conflict when it’s true intention is to execute a coup against Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s administration?
How many troops would the US have to commit to such a peacekeeping operation? Think about it.
SOL,
The “number” is not so important as the act of doing what is unexpected. Once Kiev is deemed “free of the Nazis”, the scale of force needed becomes fluid and less of a factor.
The U.S.-NATO will entrench itself in Ukraine like it has done in Germany for over 75 years to protect against the “threat of invasion”.
This strategy may be a “Hail Mary Pass” (American football idiom) on the chessboard of intrigue Russia has to be aware of no matter how likely or unlikely the U.S.-NATO will try to use it.
But the number is important as it would take hundreds of thousands of troops to mount an invasion. So it isn’t even possible.
Secondly, it would also mean changing the narrative suddenly midstream. Also not possible. Biden already committed to Russia is invading, Nazis are our allies, and we’re not committing US troops on the ground to defend Nazis.
Lastly, again, it would mean the US officially coming out as an enemy of Nazism, which it clearly isn’t, so again, impossible.
But lets get back to the first point: Russia doesn’t have sufficient assets for an invasion of Ukraine (it takes more than the 100k or so they have ostensibly at the ready for a conflict). An invasion force would take months to put together. As US troops on that scale in Ukraine would obviously look like an invasion force to Russia, they’d get attacked well before they could even set up. The mere build up would take you into kinetic war against Russia before you could even get to your goal. Your entire scenario is ridiculous.
@PokeTheTruth
You forget the fact that Russia’s main concern is Ukraine getting into the NATO. They’ll not allow the US to occupy Ukraine.
If the Anglozionists somehow occupy Ukraine, expect Russia to retaliate on various fronts. And with the looming economic catastrophe, that wouldn’t be a good scenario for the US.
NATO becomes irrelevant as the U.S. will offer Zelenskyy a deal to keep any future national socialists from gaining political power in the Rada in exchange for a long-term SOFA that includes a permanent military base inside Ukraine.
Russia doesn’t want the Ukraine to become a member of NATO and it won’t nor will surface-to-surface missiles pointed at Russia from Ukraine be installed, at least for now. As far as the other NATO Eastern European countries are concerned (e.g., Poland, Romania, etc.) they will have to deal with Russia themselves if they continue to have offensive missiles that threaten Russia sovereignty.
The key strategy for the U.S. is to become Russia’s next-door neighbor in the Ukraine by treaty without the need for NATO. This complies with Articles 1, 2, 4 (paragraph 1), 6, 7, 8 of the Treaty between The United States of America and the Russian Federation on security guarantees
See: https://mid.ru/ru/foreign_policy/rso/nato/1790818/?lang=en
So what is the bottom line? The U.S. counteroffers in writing to agree to some of Russia’s demands but not all of them, that is how they can edge closer to Russia’s western border.
As it is right now, the U.S. refuses to commit to any of the Articles in the treaty proposal and because of that, they get nothing. They are that stupid and arrogant and Russia will prevail.
Ummm, so they’re going to change the story all of the sudden from Russia is invading to we have to invade to stop the Nazis running the Ukraine government?
No.
Don’t forget the US, along with Ukraine, are the only two nations at the UN to voted against the referendum against Nazism. The US moving against Nazis is as likely as the US moving against Zionists or the English. The four groups are wedded to one another.
Also, what UN R2P doctrine are you talking about? Wasn’t that an invention of the Clinton State Dept. and the “rules based order”?
Lastly, the US isn’t fooling the Russians, or anyone else, about anything. Like they fooled Russia with the Kazakstan coup? Oh yeah. They’re not sneaky in the least. They are about narrative building, about broadcasting their ridiculous and insane narratives, and doubling down on those narratives when they are failing miserably. This is how the US has acted over and over and over again. But we’re supposed to believe they suddenly have changed course and they’re going to do something completely out of character? Nope. Try again.
Mr. Krungle,
You made two posts in response to my comment. I will answer both of them here.
Firstly, the Responsibility to Protect doctrine is not an invention as you flippantly wrote. It is a legitimate document adopted in 2005 by the United Nations membership.
See: https://www.un.org/en/genocideprevention/about-responsibility-to-protect.shtml .
Secondly, I did not propose the U.S.-NATO invade Ukraine with a massive military ground force. How you extrapolated that idea from what I wrote I leave up to a self-examination of your reading comprehension skills.
The Azov Battalion in terms of order of battle is comprised of about 1,000 – 2,000 militia as a fighting unit serving along side the National Guard of the Ukraine. It has its own command structure led by Andriy Yevhenovych Biletsky, who demonstratively is a white supremacist. These National Socialist sympathizers (Nazi) openly recruit like-minded individuals who have experience in mercenary service. They are light infantry with an armor component and also serve in a civilian police capacity.
See: https://military-history.fandom.com/wiki/Azov_Battalion .
Since the battalion is garrisoned in Kiev and Mariupol, it would not be difficult for on-the-ground U.S. intelligence operatives who are embedded with military trainers to learn the movements of the Nazis through discrete observation. They serve as a single unit meaning they are not disbursed throughout the UAF as individual soldiers.
Washington and the Kremlin both know about these Neo-Nazis however the U.S. State Department treats them as “useful idiots” for the time being while Russia would never lower itself to even think to do that.
A plan can be formulated to first segregate them away from any UAF units under the guise of a “training exercise” and then exterminate them en masse at the appropriate time. So there is no need for a massive invasion of U.S.-NATO ground forces at all, just enough to work the plan to kill the Nazi bastards.
The U.S. can then “explain” to President Zelenskyy that in order to prevent a resurgence of the national socialists, it would be in his best interests to accept a long-term SOFA and allow a permanent U.S. base inside Ukraine. As far as NATO is concerned, their use has been served too and they can return to Brussels and continue to spread fear about Russia among its membership to keep them inline.
You rejected outright the concept the U.S. would not “change the story” meaning a shift in allegiance. Are you serious?
Look at this list of all the hell Washington, DC has poured down upon lesser countries that at one time had a friendly relationship with since 1991.
See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_involvement_in_regime_change#1991%E2%80%93present:_Post-Cold_War .
Perhaps the ghost of Saddam Hussein could remind you how he was led to believe the U.S. would not interfere with his plans to invade Kuwait in 1990.
From the U.S. Congressional Record (see: https://sgp.fas.org/congress/2011/paul012611.html ).
Now in all honestly it is highly doubtful the U.S. would even consider such as strategy. However it does exist on paper at least and you can be assured that if I thought of it then certainly other individuals with a great deal more knowledge and experience than me have ruminated about it.
I’ll repeat it again. The Biden Regime hates the Zelensky Regime for co-operating with the Trump/Guiliani investigation into the Biden Family corruption in Ukraine.
They want to topple Zelensky and blame it on the Russians. A two-fer as they say.
Of everything on the matter that I’ve read so far, your scenario here makes the most sense. I personally feel that Zelensky is a “middle of the road” type of guy, and rather not take sides. That alone would be too much for the U.S. Administration.
You don’t reason or negotiate with a bully. You either fight or concede. Putin and Russia don’t seem to understand what’s going on.
Oh, they are listening and sometimes answering politely. But all the time they keep their shotgun trained unwaveringly on the USA’s navel.
They don’t? Really? Do elaborate.
I think you don’t understand. What is it with the impatient Americans who think that all the action has to be on the surface, that everything is about acting like a Western thug, and everything has to be a visible, kinetic conflict?
Russia can literally do nothing and sit on her hands and the US will collapse within the next 24 months. It’s over. There is nothing that can be done to save the patient. Everything the US is doing is the flailing of a soon to be dead patient. If you look at the long game, everything is going according to plan and Russia might gently lead the empire into defeat without lifting a muscle. They’re not panicking, but the US is clearly panicking.
But let us cut through this nonsense, shall we? The Americans turned tail against Iran. This is a fact. The entire world saw the US defeated by Iran, again, without killing a single US soldier. The US was defenseless against Iran, and not even hypersonic missiles at that. After years of talking tough about Iran and threatening to invade over and over, and goaded by their Zionist handlers, they were given the perfect opportunity to finally do it and they turned and ran. That is called defeat.
They lost to primitives in Afghanistan. They ran away from a fight with Iran. But you think they’re a bully in a scenario with Russia? Russia is treating the US like a psychiatrist treats a mental patient. That is the reality. If the US was a bully, if the US had any actual military capability against Russia, it would actually act like an aggressive man. What do we see instead? We see a nation that acts like a hysterical woman or a dramatic gay man. It creates drama, intrigue, narratives, tries to manipulate, has tantrums, theatrics, back stabs, does everything short of squaring up for an actual fight. That is the reality. If the US was a bully there would be no need for all the incessant calls to Putin et al. Sending of emissaries, etc. No, the US would simply state do what we say or we’re going to kick your ass. And then it would actually back that up. So really, the argument should more be framed as Russia is being gentlemanly in not slapping a hysterical woman and restrains itself until there is no other option. That is what we have here.
If Russia were in the least bit scared they would shut up. They would say “Yes Sir, do whatever you want.” They would act like little bitches (and pardon the language, but you wanted to bring up the machismo thing, so I’m going to talk like a thug American).
There are any number of ways that Russia and China can collapse the US tomorrow without a single bullet. Cut of energy. Collapse. China can cut off supply chains. Collapse. Like in a matter of weeks. Hell, China just needs to cut off medications to the US (which doesn’t actually make any besides “vaccines”). They have the US by the balls, which is why Russia is now basically telling the US in public they can shove their sanctions up their rear end. And this vice grip on the balls is precisely why the US and her little vassal chihuahuas are acting like drama queens. We’re at checkmate and Russia is simply sitting there waiting for the US to concede or act like a bitch and turn the game board over in a fit.
So yes, maybe you need to punch a bully in the face, but we’re not dealing with a bully here. We’re dealing with a whiny little sore loser that unfortunately has some nukes and is psychologically unhinged. And that is why you don’t see the punch–care must be taken dealing with the mentally ill, so as to not hurt them or yourself. If the US is so tough there is nothing stopping it from demolishing Moscow right now. So ask yourself why is it that the US is not doing anything if it is so tough, such a macho, big bully. The US kicks toy poodles, runs from pitbulls, and when a Tibetan Mastiff or Caucasian Orvcharka starts to growl, it craps it’s pants and runs in terror.
Your comments are Spot On but they also raise a smile as i do enjoy the fine wordcraft that is often expressed by the Saker and contributors on this website…as well as the immense pool of intellectual talent wherein we all share our knowledge and challenge each other.
@ Krungle
…but the US is clearly panicking.
Isn’t this very dangerous for Russia?
Well, the best day of the year for a Azov Brigade terrorist attack on Donbass would be today-Super Bowl Sunday. Super Bowl Sunday is the National Day of celebrating Chickenhawkery-Warhawkery in the extreme, immersed in a cesspool of perverted half-time shows and perverted car commercials….The Global Homo Empire on full-display….
The opiates and anesthesia will be pumped into America’s brain all day today….Mary Blige’s rump at halftime will be pumped deep into the benthic region of the brains of millions of Americans….This is the spiritual and moral depth of America’s soul…Mary Blige’s buttocks….
Well now, I reckon it should be very easy to start a war today…for there are no spiritual and moral barriers against starting nuclear WW Three today…
America wants to be the Sheboon Empire commanded by Admiral Mary Blige…You may not think this funny…but it is America 2024…
Perhaps you may enjoy spending the day trying to understand the ultrafilter axiom of Kurt Godel’s argument for the existence of God…..Filter out the cultural sewage of Super Bowl Sunday-Caligula half-time show…..God is Perfect….America is raw untreated sewage…Onto the Ultrafilter Axiom….Much better than Super Bowl Sunday….
War is a Satanic Racket….for America…
There are reports of a loud explosion near Donetsk, early today
I have seen reports that the explosion was caused by the spontaneous ignition of an out of date UK anti tank weapon. If this is the case, Ukrainian soldiers will be extremely reluctant to use them. It was suggested that 404 soldiers were killed and or injured.
The explosion was reported in RT, but I cannot remember where the report of the cause came from.
Unfortunately I cannot find the citation I want; but I distinctly remember reading how, at the start of the American Civil War (so-called) the current heir of the Morgan banking family, keen to make his fortune, pulled a typical trick. He attended an auction of rifles which the US government was selling off after they had been rejected as mechanically unsound. He bought some 20,000 rifles at a low price – something like $2 each – took them out West, and sold them direct to an unsuspecting general for the fully going price of $12 each.
Apparently many soldiers died or had their faces blown off when the faulty guns blew up on being fired. Far from being punished, the aspiring financial giant got clean away and went on to perpetrate far greater frauds.
Interesting comment Tom so I did an internet search:
Paper (on ethics in defence acquisitions) by a retired general, to wit:
‘During the American Civil War, for example, J.P. Morgan bought defective rifles and sold them to generals in the field for obscene profit. The rifles would shoot off the thumbs of the soldiers using them.’

Thanks a lot, Stand easy. Sorry to have been lazy! My source was “The Great American Fortunes” by Gustavus Myers, written about 1910.
At one point he states that throughout his researches he was on the look-out for any fortune, big or small, that had been amassed without illegality. He never did.

Oligarchs and businessmen leave Ukraine on charter flights
Mykhailo Tkach, Kateryna Tyshchenko – Sunday, February 13, 2022, 8:30 p.m.
https://www.pravda.com.ua/n…
Ukrainian oligarchs and businessmen are leaving Ukraine on charter flights, with about 20 charters and private jets departing from Kyiv on Sunday alone.
Source: Ukrainian Pravda
Details: There have not been so many charters in 6 years of observations.
Rinat Akhmetov and Borys Kolesnikov were among the charters and private planes that left Ukraine on Sunday.
Kolesnikov later said in a comment to the UE that he was in Kyiv and was not going anywhere. According to him, the plane flew to Prague for maintenance.
Private board for 50 people was also ordered by MP MP, millionaire Igor Abramovich.
According to the UE, from two sources to the OPZZ and two people who were offered to leave, this board is to take relatives of fellow party members and Abramovich’s business partners from Kyiv to Vienna. UE asked him for comment.
At the same time, according to the UE, although one of Akhmetov’s planes took off from Ukraine on Sunday, the oligarch himself left the country on January 30 on a flight to Zurich.
On the same day, businessman Viktor Pinchuk left Ukraine.
Businessman, People’s Deputy Vadym Novynsky left Ukraine on February 10 on a Kiev-Munich flight.
On the same day, Oleksandr Yaroslavskyi went abroad, and his motorcade knocked him to death.
On February 13, businessmen Andriy Stavnitser and Vadym Nesterenko left Ukraine, and on February 12, Vadym Stolar and Vasyl Khmelnytskyi left.
Stavnitzer’s press service told the UE that he had flown on a business trip and would return to Ukraine one of these days.
The Khmelnytsky press service told the UE that he had flown with the team to study and was to return to Ukraine on February 20. They added that this tour was planned for three months and Khmelnytsky’s children remain in Ukraine.
The Middle East is another theater of America’s current world war to be aware of.
Russian intelligence is stating that the Americans may be reactivating their terrorist/regime change proxies in Syria as a way to gain leverage over Russia in the Ukraine war theater.
Watch out for these American machinations in Syria.

Will the US re-ignite a ‘Syrian revolution’ to punish Russia in Ukraine?
https://thecradle.co/Article/columns/6835
We really don’t know what was said during the conversation between Biden and Putin but what we can be sure of is that USA is not negotiating in good faith. In fact, i would say that USA is not negotiating at all. They are toying with Russia.
The question is: From an information war standpoint, who is benefiting the most from continued “negotiations”, Russia or USA? I’m not convinced it’s Russia.
Uh huh. They keep calling, but they’re toying with Russia?
Stop it with the nonsense people. This isn’t toying…if the US actually had a set of balls it would just do something and dispense with the drama. The party with the upper hand does not need to initiate an endless series of calls, visits, and pleading. The stronger party doesn’t talk all this crap and then send in a small contingent of troops to a country that isn’t directly in the conflict. I’m not sure how people see the US as acting tough and Russia is acting weak. Confidence means you don’t need to react to every provocation or drama queen theatrics. Calling incessantly like a dumped lover is weak and desperate.
Everything the US is doing right now is pathetic. Sure, Biden said some “tough words.” Whatever. Why doesn’t he step on the mat with Putin like a real man? I thought he whipped Corn Pop back in the day, right? These guys are all pussies. They talk like pussies, act like pussies, and otherwise have demonstrated their lack of testicular fortitude. It’s lame. But yeah, Russia should open a can of whoop ass on a bunch of castratis and trannies and other hormonally suppressed men and testosterone injecting females like Nuland. That would be tough, eh?
If the US is a badass it should act like a badass. There is an utter lack of anything masculine about US behavior.
I just looked up the meaning of “to toy with someone” in the Free Dictionary; it means “to deliberately attempt to evade, deceive, or misinform someone in order to attempt to manipulate them”. So, obviously, it’s possible for a weaker party to toy with a stronger party.
Native speaker, the ‘weaker’ party does NOT toy with the stronger one.
Deception is the first rule of warfare.
Perhaps something like this can happen again. Maybe more than once…
“30 Israeli Intelligence officers and several U.S., Turkish, Saudi, Qatari, British military executives killed in Russia’s Caliber missile attack in Aleppo province”
https://syrianfreepress.wordpress.com/2016/09/21/30-israeli-killed-in-aleppo/
Russians will Stalingrad-ized them …all those not invited by gov. of Dr. Assad..and this is beginning…Syrians suffered for long 10 yrs…..
Yes, may be… But the situation was different in September 2016…
Since Russia isn’t taking the bait in Ukraine by initiating military action, it looks like the West will try to to use “Russian military build -up” (ie troops within Russia) as a pretext for war.
That seems to be the buzz word right now just like the “Iraqi weapons of mass destruction” served as a pretext for the Iraqi war…just enter this on Google (yes, Google the propaganda search engine) and you will find various headlines with this phrase.
The West has a well-developed “pre-emptive” & “preventative” war doctrine so there is no need for Russia to do anything for them to initiate hostilities..
The White House just released a statement on the Biden -Zelensky phone call and indicated the need for “deterrence ” to “Russian military build up”.
Ukraine initiated a procedure within the OSCE querying the “Russian military build up” on its border. Its fig leaf diplomatic posture and the deadline for a Russian diplomatic response expired today.
Well, it seems to me that if you can’t get the bear to attack you, you can always attack the bear.
Personally, I wouldn’t.
Clearly there is no way of knowing which way the winds will blow on this one.
However, one thing is certain, and that is Joe Biden needs a “war president” bump in the mid-terms.
If the “Russians Invade” he gets it. If the “Russians Back-off” he gets to claim he scared them off etc.
Pathetic, but pumped 27/7 by MSM hacks then it becomes the USA domestic 2022-voter’s reality.
If there are ‘big’ back-room negotiations going on to dispose of the borerland wreckage then it is likely that Nato’s new front line will be non-Russian speaking western Ukraine. The issue at the moment is whether a Russian parliament recognition of the eastern break-away provinces (& probably R2P) amounts to an ‘invasion’.
Either way, Putin (et al) have done a marvelous job drawing in the EU poodles to court in Moscow. Shows where the power really lays at the moment. The Germans seem to have the most to lose (NS2 & land/rail access to Chinese markets/economy) but the media-level silence is deafening. There’s a lot of thick ice breaking up these days but also a major cold-war reaction to re-freeze it.
As serious as it looks (and probably is on the front lines) it still feels more like bluff & popcorn time. Hope I’m right on this one. Obviously they have given Putin all the decision making power on this war scenario and a peaceful non-war 2022 is the biggest destructive bombshell he could (not) drop on Nato. Then the rotten western economic system is really Depression bound (&/or major transformation).
Like an old Jewish joke, now I just have to convince the hovels.
Although snipers of private military companies (FM) Asademi (ex Blaskquater) and Graystone Limited (USA), British Group 4 Securicor, ASBS Othago (Poland) … these “wild geese” / “war dogs” on fire on the khokhlam without the involvement of a Can of the Armed Forces of Russia. But the blame will surely fall on Putin/Russia’s fault.
I’m sure the Ukronians have already been sentenced to death. But, frankly, it was they who voluntarily signed their own death warrant.
One of the biggest pieces of news – is Biden’s mental decline. Right in the middle of this crisis.

Remember – timing is everything …
Perhaps they are playing this so a more reliable puppet aka Kamala will be the messenger
As you say Fred,”timing”.
Uhhh … you’re missing the point on timing.
The timing in respect of what is currently happening – in Ukraine, Europe, NATO, the USA – the re-alignment of the world.
You know – that timing …
Then they could have a “woman of colour” as President. Maybe they could arrange for her to lose a leg, just to round off the picture. And of coursre come out as a lesbian.
The handlers know the medications of Joe Biden are no longer capable of keeping him “up enough” to perform and if they increase the dose he is rightly F•ª¢€.
Are you suggesting that one reason Biden keeps phoning Putin is because he has forgotten the last call?
Sometimes a sticky note on the fridge door helps keep track of things etc.
maybe Biden is lying, doing theater, faking dementia, so that the average citizen will accept the Unpalatable Kamala. USA is shrewd and we need to question their every act and behavior. In the details.
If Sleepy Joe is faking dementia he’s the best Yank actor since Ronald McDonald Reagan.
Is there something missing here?
These medications are the tools to keep calm and functional those suffering from dementia which Biden clearly is.The meds have limited efficacy which diminishes with time and eventually ªªªª¢¢¢¢¢
Of course we may speak about it and have some crack (Irish definition of fun, not cocaine)in the process, nonetheless it does expose the limitations of “doubling down” when applied to medical treatments.
Lets face it they are all tarred with the same brush
Perhaps a way out from the US/UK quagmire would be to send Sleepy Joe together with Kamel (to hold his hand and manage the stairs) to boderland since he was invited by Zelenko. Where debonair Boris and his foreign relations and GPS expert Lizzie would join to consume the local speciality “chicken a la Kiv”
And then falseflag the bunch by a crazy and jew-hating Azovian.
Subsequntly:
– cleanup the azovians and organize elections where a Minsk-agreement/UN-loving kanditate wins by landslide;
– election and other US disputes are resolved by new elections with paper ballots;
– the Island Kingdom breathes a sigh of relief.
:))
First things first: After the mid-terms, Pelosi will need to go first, the Harris, and only with docile Speaker and VP replacements can senile Joe be replaced. Then rapproachment with RF can begin.
…..demented/senile/alzheimer actor or non actor must be replace by person who actually won election- PDJT if you want normal relation with Russia…
Sir,
We, in the far flung regions, are watching the impact of Mr Biden’s actions on our friends and neighbours. In our local area (suburban) we see his statements have engaged everyone in hatred and war hysteria. Former friends are almost persecuting one another if ever a kind word is said of Russia. Tradesman refuse to work for us. Shop-keepers are fully on-board with russophobia.
Life is a kind of ‘hell’ – hell is terrifying so just a little like it.
Mr Biden is having a terrific impact worldwide. He is bringing chaos, confusion and consternation to all. I see he is strongly-backed by ordinary Americans which is the most frightening of all. Even foreign defence ministers are reacting with near-irrational panic.
But we will stand firm and never say “Russia did it”, “Russia will do it” or “Russia is planning to do it”.
Regards.

It is very bad … doesn’t make me feel good at all to watch it.

If you believe in coincidences, then the timing of the airline restrictions happens to coincide with the commencement of the Russian naval exercises in the Black Sea, which started today.
While airline passengers are inconvenienced, air cargo is a much more important segment which has suddenly been shut down.
Closer examination of the naval exercise area indicates that the “open alleys” for movement of freighter vessels has been limited to areas closer to shore where the draught is about 7-10 metres – safety requires that the freighters require a minimum draught of about 10 metres, so what we are witnessing is an economic blockade of the Ukrainian ports for both import and export. This will cause vessel demurrage and raised risk premiums.
Ive linked the Russian language version of the situation complete with some maps of the exercise area and the normal freighter paths. Strongly recommend you all reads it over or Yandex translate it. I would liken this to having both your balls in a vice grip.

The article is quite hostile to Russia. I think Ukraine might do well to blame the West’s escalation of tensions rather than a round-about way for Putin to strangle Ukrainian ports.
Has anyone heard what they are going to name the upcoming war with Russia. W’ve already had Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom !!
Might I suggest Operation Grand Suicide or maybe Operation Humungous Mistake !!
“Shadow War” or “Meta Gesheft USA”

Whoa! I thought we had a problem here Stateside in the high schools. Obviously, we have not seen anything yet.
Why Invade?
Why would Russia now invade Ukraine? Russia has already achieved every last one of its war aims, regime change in Ukraine and end to any NATO aspirations.
I said earlier, that if Russia invaded Kiev they would not establish a puppet government. Instead they would demand that Zelensky stay on as president. What needs to go is the true power in Kiev, the US occupation regime. Every last military instructor, NATO bureaucrat and CIA agent embedded in the SBU has now left Ukraine. Is there anything more that Russia could demand?
I hear that the US ambassador is still in Ukraine but has moved the embassy to Lviv. A very welcome development. Maybe they will establish a “Republic of Lemberg” or something.
To me it looks like the ongoing hysteria in western MSM about imminent Russian invasion is a smokescreen for the real negotiations taking place behind the scenes. One western high level official after another is going to Russia, hours long phone calls are taking place almost daily. Westerners are leaving Ukraine, including military advisors; the cancellation of flights and insurance is effectively a “non-declared” no-fly zone. All these actual happenings are indicative of the West retreating. At least I sincerely hope that this might be the case.
“…the ‘Russia is going to invade imminently’ meme” is starting to haunt Biden:
In the recent Biden-Zelensky telephone call the comedian asked Biden to fly into Kiev the coming days (before imminent Russian invasion?) to give “a powerful signal and contribute to deescalation”.
Hilarious. But what if they fly him into Kiev? More often than not, he doesn’t know where he is….
https://www.rt.com/news/549249-invitation-kiev-biden-visit/
This news is very surprising to me:
Ukraine’s ambassador to Britain has told the bbc5 live Nolan show that his country might contemplate withdrawing its application and intention of joining NATO – if it averted war .
BREAKING: Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK tells BBC Ukraine might consider abandoning its goal of NATO membership to avert war
Ukrainian Ambassador Tells BBC Radio They “Might” Agree Not To Join NATO To Prevent War
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0014f98
Curious minds want to know if the Ukrainian ambassador “might” would be “highly likely.”
They are not joining NATO any time soon anyhow, as per France, Germany, and Hungary. Did he mean to say, Banderastan is giving up their ambitions to join NATO, for good? That will not cut it for Russia vis-a-vis the security guarantees they are looking for. Ukraine is a salient into the heart of Russia, and as long as they are hostile, they are a danger to Russian strategic security.
Still, they are beginning to see the light, it seems, at five minutes to ground zero. That, in combination with whatever Biden offered Putin, which also fell short, could be the beginning of a breakthrough. We need to wait and be patient.

“But he rushed back on Monday morning to clarify the remark, saying his comments had been ‘misunderstood’ and that the commitment to join NATO remains enshrined in Ukraine’s constitution. ”
Which Z says will not change that .
Correct. Joining NATO and EU is in their constitution since 2019.
Ukraine is in an impossible position.
It can’t start hostilities since US/NATO have already said they won’t back Ukraine.
They can’t do Minsk because Right Wing opposition is too great.
It can’t stay as it is since the economy is crashing.
Ukraine has forced the US/NATO to live up to its stated ideals and US/NATO can’t do that.
It could not be more crystal clear that the American side is having cold feet about a false flag operation by Ukraine. Why? Israel’s dependence on Ukraine for food and technology? https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/israel-russia-ukraine-invasion-ten-plagues-1.10599376 which would be interrupted by Russia’s blockading Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea?
There will be no false flag.

You are doing a great job holding down the fort while the Boss is out. There are so many threads to this conumdrum, and for the most part, comments have been on track and very informative, with some grey areas in between. We will never know what really happened in the Sea of Okhotsk with the US sub, despite all the comments about it. Taliban send 10,000 armed fighters to Afghanistan’s border with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan
02/14/2022 6:24:46 AM
Kabul. The 14th of February. Interfax – The Taliban movement (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) that controls Afghanistan is sending 10,000 militants armed with modern weapons and equipment to the provinces bordering Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Chief of the General Staff of the Taliban Armed Forces Kari Fasihuddin Fitrat said on Monday.
“A powerful army of 10,000, armed with the most modern technology of the NATO and US system, deployed in the northern and northeastern provinces of the country, will take action against any armed action,” Fitrat said on Twitter.
“In the shortest possible time, combat aircraft will be ready and will support this powerful force,” the Taliban spokesman added.
The northern province of Afghanistan, Balkh, borders on Uzbekistan, the northeastern provinces, Kunduz, Takhar and Badakhshan, on Tajikistan.

If the point of provoking a conflict is to justify harsh sanctions against Russia and to stop NS2, consider the possibility that Russia might respond with “military technical means” to this economic siege.
For example, targets like the Straits of Hormuz, the Suez Canal, or even the Panama Canal could be blocked to inflict calculated pain back on the US and Europe. These in combination with blocking Russian airspace will have a huge impact on fuel prices and supply chains, while increasing the importance of the BRI.
As Andrei Martyanov writes, the ambiguity surrounding the Russian response must be driving the Americans crazy.
Old Russian Jewish joke: Don’t lie to me! You tell me you are going to Minsk because you want me to believe you are going to Pinsk, but I have seen your railway ticket so I know you are actually going to Minsk.

Asymmetric [military and military-technical] response
“Today [Putin] will meet with Foreign Minister Lavrov and Defense Minister Shoigu. We will show the meetings, they will be available to you, ”said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the president.
Asymmetric [military and military-technical] response
to deter a potential adversary from unleashing military conflicts
Russia prepared in advance several options for military-technical asymmetric responses (AO), which, based on a significant qualitative superiority in the tactical, technical and economic characteristics (TTEC) of domestic weapons, military and special equipment (VVST) with guaranteed reliability, would exclude aggression from NATO or any other potential adversary with nuclear and non-nuclear weapons and weapons.
The choice of the AO option is carried out by increasing the reliability of predicting the intentions of a potential enemy and developing preemptive actions in prepared and unleashed conflicts.
In this case, as a rule, both independent and joint use of non-military and military symmetrical and asymmetric measures are assumed with the aim of threatening or directly causing unacceptable damage to it.
One of the main factors of choice in assessing the feasibility of implementing certain DIA projects is the “time-cost-effectiveness” criterion.
The central task of a systematic analysis of these measures is not only to substantiate ways to deter an aggressor from unleashing a large-scale war, regional and local wars, but also to prevent the transition of emerging or smoldering numerous armed conflicts into a hot phase – large-scale warfare.
A list of the main criteria for assessing the deterrence of the enemy from the outbreak of hostilities (n/d), as well as the effectiveness of defense industry enterprises in the development and mass production of asymmetric weapons systems (ADS)
Criteria for the military-economic efficiency of an asymmetric response
Levels of gradation criteria for asymmetric response (AO)
Acceptable (short-term effect)
Decent (medium-term effect)
Ideal (long-term effect)
AO Performance Characteristics
Enemy Deterrence… Asymmetric Weapon System (AWS) Combat Use… Enemy Cost Ratio… Time to Neutralize Asymmetric Response (AO).
Deterring the enemy from unleashing hostilities (n/a)
Acceptable (short-term effect): Placement of DIA in the region and/or threat of its use has an effect from several months to 3 years. When carrying out additional measures, such as modernization – up to 5 years
Decent (medium term effect): Deployment of an asymmetric weapon system in the region and/or the threat of its use has the effect of deterring the enemy for a period of ≥ 5, but < 10 years
Ideal (long-term effect): Deployment of an asymmetric weapon system in the region and/or the threat of its use has the effect of deterring the enemy for a period of ≥ 10 years
The combat use of the DIA leads to the cessation of the air raid or provides guaranteed infliction of unacceptable damage to the enemy during the air raid
Acceptable (short-term effect): The combat use of DIA gives an effect for a period from several days to 1 year
Decent (medium-term effect): Combat use of DIA leads to a cessation of combat operations for a period of ≥ 1 year, but < 3 years
Ideal (long-term effect): Combat use of DIA leads to the cessation of n / a for a period of ≥ 3 years
The ratio of the enemy's costs (Cp ) for the neutralization of AO to the total costs (Co ) for the creation of an asymmetric domestic weapon system, million dollars / million dollars
Acceptable (short-term effect): Sp/Co ≥5 but <10
Decent (medium-term effect): Sp/Co ≥10 but <100
Ideal (long-term effect): Sp / Co ≥ 100
Time (t p ) required by the enemy to neutralize the AO, years
Acceptable (short-term effect): t p ≥ 3, but < 5
Decent (medium-term effect): t p ≥ 5, but < 10
Ideal (long-term effect): t p ≥ 10
Note:
AO preparation is carried out in two directions:
– Formation of joint-stock companies to a high-tech enemy (USA, NATO) in military conflicts of varying intensity;
– training of joint-stock companies for terrorist and bandit formations in armed conflicts in conditions that are unconventional for the RF Armed Forces in different regions of the world.
2. The feasibility of deploying an asymmetric weapon system (ASW) as part of a military formation and the timing of its use are determined based on the results of an assessment of military and economic efficiency, based on the military-political situation in the region and the predicted scenarios for conducting military operations and their consequences, including taking into account the possibility of cessation of hostilities (b / d) or their escalation in quantity, their performance characteristics, the level of coherence of combat crews and, in general, the combat readiness of groupings of troops (forces) and military formations. In recent years, a significant number of asymmetric weapons systems have been adopted to equip the strategic link of the RF Armed Forces.
Greetings to everyone

The first topic is the “Russia-Ukraine crisis,” with Stephanopoulos asking Pelosi directly if she believes Russian President Vladimir Putin is about to invade Ukraine. Nancy Pelosi’s response [Transcript Here] tells us all we need to hear:
PELOSI: “Well, I think we have to be prepared for it. And that is what the president is — yes, I do believe that he is prepared for an invasion. I also understand why the President of Ukraine wants to keep people calm and that he wants his economy not to suffer. But, on the other hand, if we were not threatening the sanctions and the rest, it would guarantee that Putin would invade. Let’s hope that diplomacy works.
Blah blah blah – typical cynical dangerous Americans
Among the main problems of the United States is the reformatting of Putin – “Mr. Compromise”, into Putin – “Mr. Ultimatum”.
By reformatting the consciousness of Russians from a state of friendly attitude towards the United States into a hostile one – “hot hatred.”
And here, at least every day, change the presidents of Russia, this attitude will not change until the complete and final victory of the universal Good (Russia) over the world Evil (Anglo-Saxons).
I totally and absolutely agree with what you say
No, (until now) but fits my comment at “February 13, 2022 · at 6:30 pm EST/EDT”.
Their applied 101-logic really is predictable. No surprises there.
It is all starting to look like another hysterical pull out (Afghan style) with the white flag of ‘victory’ flying high in the European political winds.

2. Military junk dumped & resupplies ordered. (tick).
3. ‘Training” experts evacuated. (tick)

5. Europeans spooked & scattering. (tick)
6. Nato totally justified & 2022 budget increase likely. (tick)
7. Russian invastion in progress. (Obviously long planned war game exercises are the real thing! — so it will be “weapons of mass destruction” true tomorrow for sure, tick).
8. Diplomacy done — proving Putin is Hitler. (tick)
9. Facts on the ground … (hey, look, squirrels!)
10. Germans down & Russians out. (tick).
And the fact that there is no detectable sign of global warming proves conclusively that all the new windmills and solar cells prevented it – decades before they were built.
For a better understanding of the rather strange zeitgeist in todays Germany, here is a really enlightening chat show from Deutschland-Radio from the series “Kontrovers”. It is unfortunately in German. But I post this here because it is a good example of the success of an ideology of the infallibility of the radical-capitalist value system of the Western democracies, which has been persistently pursued since 1989. Those who understand German will understand why the generation that now forms the government in Berlin has not understood how much they are intertwined in this West-German anti-Russian ideology and any historical argument bounces off them.
https://www.deutschlandfunk.de/kontrovers-100.html
In an earlier comment some German-speaking members here expressed their wish that it would be desirable to post in German, I don’t do this because I have pretty much lost hope that Germany is capable of change because whenever their elected representatives can really set a sign they first run to Washington for permission. (just like Olaf Scholz did before he went to Ukraine today and then to Moscow).
The German can do it because they hide behind the bureaucracy of the EU. So they do not need to take responsibility for the past of German history. Many were at best just born in 1989. But if they don’t understand the opportunity that was offered then, they don’t understand Macron and his vision of a new European defense policy either and that his ideas would led to a independent defence policy from the USA. They are so full of hate that they accept to hold the whole economy and population hostage with the consequences of their short-sighted politics. They even don’t fear the consequences. Half on them do not even have a diploma or any professional qualifications.
I know it is in French but translated, I suppose, from English. It is the best paper I have read for years. It puts into context the news I read around and about Russia. I haven’t read a discrepancy between what Alastair Crooke wrote and the news yet. It does make sense.
https://lesakerfrancophone.fr/la-strategie-de-lauto-aveuglement
From my reading of this text and the one above this page I conclude that Russia’s security is the game. The US want it under their control and Russia should be a gas station with an army. Russia can’t accept it.
The strategy I get from Crooke’s text is putting hostile countries, weapons and armies around Russia and China. Each occasion to stir troubles in these two countries will be used to put them down. Each connection between Europe and Russia or any independent country and Russia will be severed or under very tight control in order to be able to sever it any moment.
The tactic I imagine being used here is critical theory. It is about criticizing Russia and China until they dissolve. I can’t overestimate its power. Anybody with the semblance of a conscience can be criticized and nobody is perfect. Creating reasons to criticize is another way to put this theory into action. Shooting down a civil airplane is fine with this US goal. It is a cheap price (not for the civils but the USA) to pay for making Russia look bad. A US, « Russified » nuke could do the trick too. Each activist trained and programmed in the use of critical theory will jump on it.
Each SJW trained to denounce racism even in the case of a solar eclipse is going to fume loudly. Each of them lives in a « social constructed reality » where the truth is totally subjective and has to be accepted by everybody unless one wants to show that he is a white supremacist. The MSM is perfectly tuned to that. Any dissent will be called hate speech, told by racist, mysoginist, white supremacists (cf Justin Trudeau). The MSM and the SJWs will be busy fighting misinformation, disinformation, fake news, conspirationists because they are going to defend their « socially constructed reality ». We are going to hear about it.
In the past, rehearsals have been performed. I remember here Syria – Ghouta, Irak – WMD, Ukraine – Maidan. Venezuela has been given a try too. Russia gate also illustrates this point. That nothing burger took years to dissolve and zealots are ready to re-ignite it at the smallest occasion. The tactic is perfectly mastered.
I see a world at war. The West is poised to increase its aggressiveness. Any move from the CSO countries will be « the proof » that they are evil, aggressive and so on. Our elite is the Borg « Submit! Resistance is futile! Prepare to be assimilated! »
PS : I do wish to be wrong.
The West is in panic mode, they are only now realizing that the warnings George Kennan gave them in 1997 about NATO expansion to Russian borders would be “the biggest mistake ever”. Now they are in a cleft stick, haul the white flag or double down. US hubris has created this situation, inevitably causing it to lose credibility if they backed down, but what else can they do? Sun Tzu may have offered the US a ‘golden bridge in order to retreat’ but US exceptionalism would exclude this.
Russia can now invest its excess profits, from the rise in the price of oil, into the purchase of gold, to increase the Russian reserves.
This is now a double-action vice which will create perspiration upon the neo-cons, and their banking owners.
The more the hounds bark, the tighter is the vice squeezed.
At some point, the hounds will go quiet, before the shadow of the Bear!
https://www.rt.com/russia/549319-shoigu-us-submarine-incident/
Details of Russian encounter with US sub revealed
Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has revealed additional info about a purported incident involving an American nuclear submarine in Russian waters. The Russian defense minister has outlined details of an incident which, according to Moscow, saw a US military submarine violate Russia’s sovereignty over the weekend. The Pentagon has denied that any such event took place.
Speaking on Monday, Sergey Shoigu told Russian President Vladimir Putin that the submarine went 4km deep into the country’s territorial waters. It took Russia’s military three hours to make the intruding boat leave and required the deployment of “special actions” three times, Shoigu told the president. The minister said the movements of the submarine were “absolutely unjustified.”
Shoigu reiterated the details of the boat previously given by the ministry, but used some qualifying language. He said the intruder was “most likely” American, adding that the military perceived the distance of the alleged intrusion as “pretty significant for the island environment.”
The Russian military reported the incident last Saturday, saying the alleged trespasser was a US Virginia-class nuclear-powered attack submarine. The incident happened in the Pacific near one of Russia’s Kuril Islands at a time when the Russian Navy was conducting an exercise in the area, the Defense Ministry said.
Russia called the incident a major violation of international law that created a threat to national security, and summoned a US military attache for an explanation.
A sub in your waters is something to fear, but then it is, after all, a U$ Navy sub with an LGBTQXYZ crew, so
it should be easy to defeat.
