Dear friends,
I want to share with you a very well-made video made in Moscow which a commentator has shared with me.
This video, entitled Recent Ukrainian History, the Southeast, begins with a quote attributed to Bismark: Even a victorious war is a calamity which has to be prevented by the wisdom of the people. The rest is self-explanatory and, I think, rather powerful.
Good night!
The Saker
Isn’t it strange – how much of this business of war comes down to humans fighting humans directly, with fists and chains and clubs and guns?
Just as the lives of all of us depend on water falling from the sky, from a kind of magic we couldn’t even begin to invent.
All of our human belief in “civilization” is an act of hubris to the extent we take it for granted, and forget the sacred, original world given to us to share.
And I don’t know but I suspect the fighting soldier must often feel the nearness of sacred world, a quietness so close yet also impossible to touch.
What sadness.
LOUNA – Зачем? / OFFICIAL VIDEO / 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-K8qDPp1eE

What For?
Turn off the light, close the blinds
Futile escape in three minutes
You hear the sirens in the distance “emergency”?
Is the Earth and of the twenty-first century
Good morning!
The word “love” – how it went
In the fashion of jargon for new manners
The summer of love left in the past
The flower children and office plankton
At screens
In the television – blood and tears
A new dose
Each new day
No answer
And each new day
No answer
To the question “what for?”
You hide the eyes and ears of stopping pop
Quiet and no problems
You’re not blind, hear my words?
He could also give a response
To the question “what for?”
To my question “what for?”
The simple question “what for?”
But there’s no answer
How to make the world kinder and more
Live without war, where to get us forces
Do not repeat the mistakes of the more
And never see the black smoke
Hiroshima?
And in the news again – the missiles
The tears of the children, the wave of terror
But on the question of why all of this –
Only silence… and no answer… no
You hide the eyes and ears of stopping pop
Quiet and no problems
You’re not blind, hear my words?
He could also give a response
To the question “what for?”
To my question “what for?”
The simple question “what for?”
But there’s no answer
No answer
And each new day
No answer
To the question “what for?”

A-1 is a Russian music channel. They were one of the best in the world, but a couple of years ago they switched to a mostly rap/pop mono theme format and no longer offer what was probably a unique blend of current talent, both east and west. In other words, they were Americanised.

A Very sobering reminder
I’m not sure if the Zio/anglo Empire’s over-zealous hubris in trying to bait Russia through Ukraine and subsequently bleed Russia dry and then install Zio Empire-friendly oligarchs to milk Russia’s vast wealth of resources will lead to war. I’m not a clairvoyant although sometimes I have demonstrated intuitive accuracy.
What I can say, and I’m sorry to have to say this, is that maybe this world needs another Great War at this time. I know how this sounds, but, I’m starting to feel like the power of words and random and even great acts of kindness are no longer enough to change the direction of mankind. Believe me, I’m totally against violence but, as long as the world keeps descending into ignorance, hypocrisy, control, apathy, cruelty, materialism, depravity and selfish opportunism through exploitation of the weak, we may as well go primal all the way and fight this battle with civil disobedience, with our fists, and weapons of choice. The world is polarizing into two camps: on one side we have people who want to restore balance of power, decency, respect for life and for what is sacred, non-intervention, peace, compassion, dignity and humanity in all things and on the other side you have the evils I already described above, and that camp is growing by leaps and bounds. So, the world needs a massive correction. Mankind needs to suffer something catastrophic because evil is winning as it’s pretending to be a force for good.
The world is begging for WWIII or some other global catastrophe. And no, the Messiah won’t intervene before that to save us. Instead severe punishment will set the stage for transformation.
Whether we like it or not; a great war may be the only way; unless mother nature has something even more catastrophic up her sleeve.
The Americans are practically begging Russia to send their military into Ukraine. If the Russians comply, the west wins. West Ukraine will ask America for soldiers to protect them. The Silk Road will be stopped. The South Stream pipeline, which is being built for the sole purpose of bypassing Ukraine might stop. The Cold War will get very cold.
Austria has signed an agreement with Russia to build the South Stream pipeline on their land. The Germans are quietly happy with this. Brussels and the Americans don’t like it. Behind the scenes things are happening. Here’s a link to the article http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/05/04/us-ukraine-crisis-gas-gazprom-analysis-idUSBREA4302K20140504

Mohamed,
Thank you — that is just fascinating. Are you familiar with Kamal Salibi? I read his work years ago and a lot of it made a lot of sense. I think I’ll dig around more on this but it probably won’t be for a while as I’ve got a few other books that are requiring a whole lot of thought! I will get to it though; it’s just sooo fascinating. And that feminine noun thing is very interesting — I know there were gods and goddesses in the folk religions before monotheism; perhaps ilah/eloh denote a god that has feminine as well as masculine characteristics — I mean after the idea of one God came into being? Just a wild guess, of course, so probably just. plain. wrong.”
Dearest Nora,
I never heard of Kamal Salibi. Did Google him and he seems fascinating. Have to read more about him.
The language doesn’t have “It”. So everything is either masculine noun or feminine noun. The adjectives and adverbs have to match the nouns for gender for gender.
Home Red = Beth (masculine) Hamar (masculine).
Car Red = Siyara (feminine) Hamra (feminine).
Thus, God cannot be “It”. It is also disrespectful to call God, “It”.
Also, in Islam God doesn’t have a gender, therefore the proper usage for the third person is “He” and not “She”. The same rule applies if the gender is unknown.
A Jewish friend of mine, I once told her when you put short vowels in YHWH, it becomes “O’ He”. Meaning, “O’ He Elohim”. And, that God doesn’t have a name, and if He did, then He will become a commodity belonging to that culture. I reminded her when Moses (as) asked God His Name. God replied, “I am, I am…..”. God didn’t say, “YHWH”.
She replied that “YHWH” contain all constants and Jews are not allowed to insert short vowels when they speak or write God. I replied to her that the whole TaNaKh (OT) was written in constant and did have short vowels, until after the Holy Quran was descended. She freaked out.
There are two Arabic languages. The old, old and Modern (street) Arabic which is still written without short vowels and the Quranic (Classical) Arabic which is taught as linguistic in Universities to all students regardless of their faith. It has full fledged grammar taken from the Holy Quran.
Remember, Quran was descended in 6/7 century. And, from Quranic (Classical) Arabic the short vowels were inserted into the TaNaKh in 12th to 15th century. However, no short vowels were inserted into “YHWH” due to their belief.
You can Google it.
Please see my below response to WizOz too.
Best regards,
Mohamed

Russian bombers, fighter jets seen over Crimea
AFP, May 4 2014
SIMFEROPOL – Several dozen Russian planes including what appeared to be strategic bombers and fighter jets have been spotted in the sky above the Moscow-controlled peninsula of Crimea, witnesses and experts said. According to Russian media, Putin is to visit Crimea on Friday after the main military parade on Red Square when Russia celebrates its victory over Nazi Germany in WW2. A local aviation expert told AFP on Sunday that he had sighted a number of planes over the peninsula’s main city of Simferopol on Saturday, including supersonic heavy strategic bombers and heavy military transport aircraft. He said he had also seen refuelling tankers and MiG-29 jets. Another expert, Alexei Savich, who was shown footage of the aircraft, said a Sukhoi Su-34 fighter jet could be seen among the planes. He also identified the tankers and military transport planes. Many local residents have also seen the aircraft rumble over the peninsula including in Simferopol and the neighbouring town of Bakhchisarai. Local resident Arzy Khaibulaeva told AFP: “It was a bit scary. Children were frightened. They were flying low, and some were refuelling in mid-air.” Savich told AFP: “Moscow is most likely bringing in some serious military aircraft, ramping up its military presence on the peninsula.”

So the assertion that Jesus was a Judaeus is not Hasbara. Let’s not confuse the matters. And try to understand that the Quranic interpretations of Christian Scriptures are irrelevant. Scriptures.”
Dearest WizOz,
Please see my above comments to Nora.
As I have mentioned earlier that it was my personal translation and had nothing to with Quranic interpretations.
The Holy Quran is very careful mentioning the Banu Israel and Yehud, making the distinction clear as water between them. There is no genealogy of Jesus in the Quran.
However, Quran does mention that Marian (Mary (as)) family is called, “Imran”. The third chapter of the Quran is called, “Family of Imran”, which is the second largest chapter of the Quran. Also, chapter nineteen is called, “Mariam”, again one of the longest chapter in the Quran.
My sister is called, “Batool” meaning “Virgin”. Both my maternal and paternal grand mothers were called, “Marian”. All there of them named after Holy Virgin Mary (as).
I remember once discussing with one of my Jewish friend, and he claiming that there was no “Batoola – Virgin Girl” mentioned in Isaiah in TaNaKh. He said that OT was intentionally mistranslated. He even went as far as claiming that Isaiah was not the last chapter in TaNaKh, and that chapters were rearranged in OT to create the prophesy of Jesus.
When I married my wife of 38 years, my father-in-law gave us a Bible KJV as wedding present. To my in-laws it was blasphemy to believe in any other Bible beside KJV. Today, they believe in NIV. Day and night difference in both versions. Each printing has different versions.
Like, I said earlier that there is a concentrated effort to erase Jesus from history. This is one of the reasons, Syria was attacked so viciously. The disciples of Prince of Peace Jesus (as), who speak Aramaic live there before the advent of Islam. Today, there is a concentrated effort to erase them.
BTW, if Emanuel means, “God with us”. Then Israel means, “Ever Lasting God” and Ishmael means, “Hearing God” and so forth.
Best regards,
Mohamed
P.S. It is so kind of Dear Saker to allow us this discussion. He is a very generous host and we have to respect his house. As long as we are civil, I am sure he will allow us this discussions. I am sure that all of us, our faith is so strong, these discussions will only strengthen our faith.
Dearest WizOz and Nora,
The divinity of Prince of Peace Jesus (as) was removed from NIV when it first was suggested by the committee. I remember the uproar then in comparison to KJV. Eventually, the divinity of Jesus was relegated into footnotes in NIV.
The way from day one the Holy Quran is preserved till today, is from memorization and not from written. Today, as in the past the full Quran is memorized my millions of Muslims world wide. Every years, in the month of Ramadan, throughout the world the competitions are held for the best memorizes.
Subtle changes can be made to Quran from printing to printing. However, this memorization serves as checks and balances from subtle changes in printing. I Remember, Saudi Arabia once claiming that they should be the only country allowed to print Quran. The Muslims were in uproar. One has to be very careful from printing to printing.
200 years from now, when all three of us will be dead, the “Virginity” will be removed from OT as the claims are already being made as I mentioned earlier. Then, there will be a concentrated effort on Holy Virgin Mary’s (as) character.
I remember, “Misquoting Jesus” written by Bart D. Ehrman, when a Muslim asked him about Jesus and his disciples speaking Aramaic and not Greek/Roman. He was asked, did he considered this translation effects into his research? Bart D. Ehrman acted like the Muslim didn’t know anything and just ignored him.
Best regards,
Mohamed.
The most important question, and one that reasonable analysts of the current Ukraine crisis answer quite differently: What are the US foreign policy goals in Ukraine?
1) Get NATO troops into Ukraine, to contain Russia
2) Separate Ukraine away from Russia economically
3) Get Russia tied up in the Ukraine militarily and financially
4) Drag in Russia to justify Cold War 2.0
5) Increase sales of American arms manufacturers
6) Drive a wedge between (resourceful, powerful, and not EU-crippled) Russia and rest-Europe
7) Destroy a powerful BRICS by atacking the powerful ‘R’
(And there sure are more than these.)
Obama, especially with John “the wig” Kerry as his top diplomat, might appear like he doesn’t know what he’s doing and is pursuing a irrational foreign non-policy, just waking up every morning and thinking how he might save face one more day, and some of The Saker’s comments seem to hint in that direction as well. Example:
> to propose to return to a conscript army for the Ukraine is nothing short of absolute and total lunacy. I can only wonder which crazies in the West gave Turchinov and Iatseniuk this crazy idea. McCain? Hillary? Kerry?
But I’m not so sure American foreign policy is as clueless as The Wig makes it seem. (Of course I totally agree that diplomatically, Obama, with or w/o Kerry, is a sick joke. Albeit an improvement over GWB. Well, how hard is that?) The US is still negotiating behind the scenes with Iran, and apparently Hezbollah, and there’s a lot more going on than The Wig and his boring “There will be, em, costs” we make fun of.
My biggest question is: Does the US want to drag Russia into the Ukraine militarily? I tend to believe: No. Because the official and overt actions of Yats’n’Turch (btw what happened to Yats? Did he just disappear? Haven’t heard of him for a while) in the east are rather timid. I don’t know who organized the Odessa false flag, that involved police, and probably Y’n’T were in the loop, but that’s not their official policy, and they promised to do a “full investigation”. (It will certainly be as “full” (of shit) as the Maidan snipers non-investigation)
So I’d think they’d be more daring if they wanted to get Russia involved. Otoh, Y’n’T aren’t the US, and the US will probably not tell their stooges that they want to fuck up their country.
Anyway, I’m still waiting to hear a good case being made for either argument.

8) Create an enemy more credible than Al Quaeda, so finally Europe starts investing into military again (-> 4) Cold War)
9) Prevent the decline of the (Petro-)Dollar (-> 7) BRICS)
10) Give new meaning to NATO so it’s being taken serious again (and can continue to be used to control Europe)
11) Get Russia and China to cozy up so together they can meaningfully challange the US ;)

Obviously the approval rate and participation of the crimea-referendum wasn’t quite as high as reported:
Референдум
По мнению практически всех опрошенных специалистов и граждан:
– подавляющее большинство жителей Севастополя проголосовали на референдуме за присоединение к России (явка 50-80 %), в Крыму по разным данным за присоединение к России проголосовали 50-60 % избирателей при общей явке в 30-50 %;
Still above 50% though ;-)

GREYDOG at Firedoglake gets it. Here is a video he put up yesterday that should be seen by each and every American. It won’t be, but it should. http://my.firedoglake.com/greydog/2014/05/04/ukraine-crisis-today-democracy-caught-on-camera-this-will-never-be-shown-on-mainstream-media/
And he’s got another bunch of stuff today, including a piece by Bruce Gagnon of StopNATO with a 24-minute video by an onlooker — and also a simple question: where were the fire trucks?
The thugs were certainly active but they didn’t plan this, or manage it. WE did. American mercenaries ran this game, it’s been our style, at home and abroad, since forever.
Can you please provide a link which will allow the video to be downloaded directly (such as, an mp4)? Browsers which do not have plugins enabled (such as the Tor browser) need a direct download in order to be viewable.
I have read some interesting hints and suggestions here and elsewhere about the following:
I think if Russia is going to engage in Ukraine militarily then with the help with Ukraine military, basically making a counter-coup. Maybe that’s what the rumours of Russian talks with Ukr generals are about? In this kind of scenario the threshold for military offensive is lower and it has more legitimacy to it, both within Ukr and internationally. The Ukr military (loyal to Russia) can then take over the government, stabilize things and finish the right sector.
Quite frankly I see no other way, there is no possibility of democracy in Ukr in the foreseeable future. I think the General’s orders would be much more likely to be followed that the current government’s orders. The Ukr police doesn’t know what to do, they have no idea what will happen next week or next month, they don’t want to take any sides/responsibility. If Ukr Generals come to power, fully backed by Russia then maybe it could be the solution. They can reinstate Berkut and all the other Ukr military that has already deserted or is sabotaging orders, they can also remove all the foreign mercenaries.
What do you think?

Reuters, a media extension of the Empire, reports on the Odessa massacre as follows:
First sentence: “Ukraine’s Interior Minister said on Monday he had drafted a new special forces unit into the southern port city of Odessa after the “outrageous” failure of police to tackle pro-Russian separatists in a weekend of violence that killed dozens.”
So the massacre is moved way into the background and the main problem was not that the fascists working with the police “based on civilian activists” (read: the Right Sector), as the article a bit later says) killed some 100 people, but that there was some “outrageous failure to tackle pro-Russian separatists” (the victims of the massacre!). The massacre is then reduced to “violence” and it was then this abstract “violence that killed dozens.” How much one can torture language in order to whitewash fascism and serve the Empire?
The article then continues after spending some times on accusing Moscow of the “rebellion”: “Kiev’s anger on Monday focused on the Odessa police decision to release 67 largely pro-Russian militants after supporters besieged and stormed a police station on Sunday.” So the fascist junta’s anger was focused on letting go under the pressure of outraged Odessites the many detained victims of the massacre most of whom were older and old people, including many women! Yes, having to release the dozens of the survivors of the massacre, how awful does it look in the eyes of the fascists and their PR-sensitive Western handlers!
In the very next paragraph, Reuters dutifully calls the detained survivors and victims of the fascist organized violence “militants” and these people who were actually civilians and unarmed are now turned even into armed militants, according to Reuters that, evidently, never bothered to look at the faces or the interviews with the released people: “The militants had been arrested on Friday after hours of clashes, with the use of petrol bombs and small arms, on the streets of the Black Sea city. Pro-Russian supporters withdrew to a building that later burnt down with the loss of over 40 people …” See the building either burned down (which is actually not quite true) by itself or somehow the victims did it to themselves–that what the Reuters language implies. There are no fascist paramilitaries in sight in this Reuters account. And the number of the casualties is lowered as much as possible “over 40 people” … without identification that the dead and severely wounded were only on the side of the “pro-Russian,” that is, antifascist side.
Then Reuters caps its manipulation of the story with this: “The exact circumstances of the blaze remain unclear but the deaths have become a cause célèbre for anti-Kiev activists across the south and east.” Remain unclear to whom? On top of it, Reuters then nonchalantly calls the massacre “a cause célèbre”! Really? A a cause célèbre? Would Reuters also call other fascist crimes from World War II or Holocaust “a cause célèbre”? Or 9/11?
Reuters then adds as if affirming the junta’s supposed prudence and caution, the released ones were only part of the political prisoners seized by the junta. For the junta made sure to move most of the prisoners out of Odessa: “Avakov said other detainees had been transferred away from Odessa in the night to more central areas of Ukraine to prevent any premature release.” Any “premature release” of most of the survivors and victims of the fascist mayhem is in the eyes of the fascist junta “premature.”
So much for telling as it is when it comes to our richly funded corporate media who are hardly more than PR sluts for fascism in Ukraine.

@Honk re: what’s the US agenda?
Perhaps we can add the overarching goal, which is not strictly speaking a US goal, but one emanating from key elements of the generational global oligarchy, as the generations-long attempt to set up a global totalitarian governance structure.
This was described in the early twentieth century as the goal of a global financial dictatorship by most powerful banking related families, as reported by Professor Quigley in Tragedy and Hope, is referred to as the great goal by one of the banking Warburgs after WW2, Bertrand Russell and many eminent others jump on the ‘must-have’ global government bandwagon after the atomic bomb, David Rockefeller brags in his autobiography, in line with the Council on Foreign Relations secret-ish agenda, to be seeking same, and so on.
The recurrent wet dream of a Uni-polar world, full spectrum dominance, with a micro-chipped subdued attenuated global population presided over by hi-tech neo-feudalist overlords for ever and ever…
In line with this overarching goal a repertoire of hi-tech EMF related infrastructure has been assembled to better control the peoples: the digital tv as apathy cultivator, 4s technology as mind control, HAARP as enabler of widespread neurological influence, ubiquitous surveillance capabilities, etc etc.
Something fishy is preparing against Transnystria… Yesterday, accusations that Russians citizens and moldaviansfrom Transnystria were the majority in the group killed or arrested in Odessa. Then this morning a so called SBU operation arresting a car entering Ukraine from Transnystria with nuclear materail for a “dirty bomb”. Is someone preparin ground for a justification to expand an eventual war into Transnystria where russian forces would be quickly overwhelmed? Let´s see…

In case anyone was wondering, that music was used in (from?) the movie 28 Days Later. A “zombie” movie ostensibly, but like the best ones it’s really about human behavior. The “zombies” are all infected with the “rage” virus, created in a lab. Haunting, powerful music imo. Adds to the emotional response of the pictures. Great choice.
For the person with the computer issue- if you can see the share button, it will both bring up the youtube link itself and you can use it to go straight to the youtube page. I do this on mobile. Also, for mobile (android), there’s an app called “videoder”, not in play store, but you can download youtube videos either by searching for the title or using share button from youtube, just hit videoder, takes you right to it, and offers multiple formats and resolutions for downloading. There’s other apps like this but videoder by far the best. Not just youtube videos either. Having the download allows me to open it up in a video player i can play in the background, or even with screen off. (MX Player best). When audio is the only thing needed of course.
Here’s the url for the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zooDBxaopZY
There’s another app for Android, “Viral lite” (free version) that is basically enhanced youtube, lets you pop out the video onto the screen, movable and resizable, so you can do other things on the phone, or hide it altogether so audio plays in background.
A little personal history, while waiting for the other shoe to drop, about how long this has been going on in the Ukraine . (Saker, please delete if too far off topic.) In late 1957 I was a young, blue-collar GI, just off the farm, in an Army training center, waiting to start class in January. They made me a “fireman”: shoveled coal into barrack stoves for heat and hot water. (Tested heat by touching hot-water pipes: if too hot to touch, hot enough.) Worked 12 hours on, 36 off (real scam). My stoves were in an HQ Company: orderly room, day room, mess hall, plus a small barracks of GI’s taking classes separate from the rest of us. Surly bunch, lifers, NCO’s, Spec 4’s and 5’s, maybe airborne. Back from Germany, from food and beer they mentioned. Got used to me coming around every couple hours to check the heat. Sometimes bitched: “Kid, we need more hot water, etc. “. Generally ignored me. Overheard them talking, joking about “drops in the Ukraine”, “dropping in the Ukraine”, which I heard as “You Crane”. Had read Jack London, thought maybe they said “Yukon”, asked if they’d been in Canada. They got angry, saying “Kid, mind your own business. Forget anything you heard, if you know what’s good for you. You’re in trouble already. etc., etc. … “ So I did. But first went to the Post library, was the only GI there, found Ukraine in the encyclopedia. Didn’t make any sense. Shortly thereafter went on Christmas leave, then to technical school, eventually to college, grad school, 40+ years working for the government.
Put it out of my mind entirely until mid 1990’s, when an obit in the local paper said the deceased, maybe “Army” or “State.”, was involved in dropping supplies and weapons to anti-Soviet guerrillas in the Ukraine. Tried to mention my experience to guys I worked with, very guardedly, but absolutely no interest. I’ve read classically there are three stages after any conspiracy: First, nobody believes it, calling the people exposing it “conspiracy theorists”. Second, everybody ignores it entirely. Third, everybody says, “Ho hum, we knew it all along.” We’re in stage three.

What I think is this is beyond the point where it can be de-escalated. It will have to run its course, meaning it will get a lot worse before it gets better. The blood is running hot on both sides. Russia needs to at least help these people with weapons and intelligence as much as possible, otherwise there are going to be more massacres. The right sector people are like trained attack dogs.
If the army insists on laying siege to whole cities in medieval style, Russia should bring this up to the UN.
Volatirenet article as I see it:
basically unipolar (western) world hegemony falling apart and bipolar world (west + brics) gradually taking its place, in a situation promising less recklessness on the part of the west; the author seems to say there are too many facts on the ground (geopolitical, economic, military) for the west not to realise it must change its tune (ie west will be as beastly as ever but not on such a large scale)
http://www.voltairenet.org/article183542.html
In other words the Ukraine crisis is not a world-changer but an indication that the way Libya played out and the way Syria and Venezuela are playing out are unsustainable for the west itself; my own personal prediction that a pragmatic solution for Ukr will come about seems to hold (my view was based on some web report on ongoing high-level diplomacy); i.e. Ukraine will not join NATO and the loonies will be excluded from future governments (which I’m sure is what the majority of Ukrainians want to hear); like the Syria peace deal, this all seems to have been brokered primarily by Putin.
So it’s back to the drawing board and basically the 1995 Budapest agreement for Ukr, hopefully with a few more guarantees of detente etc. and consitutional and political space for some vaguely sane non-oligarchs in a new Kiev government.
Let’s hope the deaths stop here; is the article too upbeat? perhaps…
“I had felt Death’s hand once before, on the road at Mory – but this time his grip was firmer and more determined. As I came down heavily on the bottom of the trench, I was convinced it was all over. Strangely, that moment is one of the very few in my life of which I am able to say they were utterly happy. I understood, as in a flash of lightening, the true inner purpose and form of my life. I felt surprise and disbelief that it was to end there and then, but this surprise had something untroubled and almost merry about it. Then I heard the firing grow less, as if I were a stone sinking under the surface of some turbulent water. Where I was going, there was neither war nor enmity.”
Ernst Junger, Storm of Steel
Kiev is relying more and more on ruthless foreign mercenaries and equipment. Without outside help, the eastern towns will become exhausted. Once they are taken, the insurgents will be either killed on the spot or captured and never heard from again.
1. One of my fellow-citizens sat at a desk and planned this atrocity.
2. Other Americans led it.
3. My tax dollars paid for it.
4. Putin, Lavrov and everyone else invoking facts, reason and decency have for some time now reminded me of 400 years worth (and counting) of Indian chiefs doing the same thing. Now Russia is certainly not outnumbered or out-gunned, but there’s still no point trying to reason with depravity. Hopefully it can be out-smarted or outmaneuvered, otherwise it must be destroyed, but words per se are useless: no one who matters is listening for anything other than what they see as signs of weakness or hints of future strategy.

A commenter at my place left this and you may find it interesting, if it is not something you have seen already?

From Russia Today: Moscow releases ‘White Book’ on human rights abuses in crisis-torn Ukraine
http://www.mid.ru/bdomp/ns-dgpch.nsf/03c344d01162d351442579510044415b/38fa8597760acc2144257ccf002beeb8/%24FILE/ATTLUY3T.pdf/White_book.pdf
If the citizens resistance had enough ammunition it could very likely grind down Kiev’s miserable offensive in northern Donetsk. But without outside supply it can hardly maintain a, more or less, conventional resistance without running out of ammo. While the fighters can still, for the most part, save themselves and maintain a sporadic (call it guerilla if you wish) resistance, the unarmed civilians they are trying to protect will be in for it. Once hard resistance dies down the prayvi sektor hyenas will rush in murdering, beating, raping,”making an example” of what happens to people who “support terrorists”.
The pitiful part of all this is that all the Russians would have to do to stop this “offensive” in its tracks is to take command of the air and say, visually or verbally, “shut it down”. The least sign of real, on the ground, military involvement would see the Ukrainians scurrying out of the oblast,or– if any eastern units are on the scene– simply changing flags. I’m not talking TU 22M’s with fuel air bombs, or armored brigades crashing across the border, just unmistakable evidence that that Moscow really, really has reached the end of its patience.
Why hasn’t it? Is Putin holding off for a parade? Holding hands under the table for another half baked agreement? Have the Americans, as they seem
to smirkingly assume, faced Russia down?
By the way, anyone who believes that fascist “partisans” could bleed the Russians for long in the eastern oblasts knows nothing about guerrilla war.
Well–with many thanks Saker for your prodigious efforts–I don’t expect, absent a second “Miracle of the Donetsk”, I’ll trouble you much more.

President Putin will find it hard to send Russian troops into Ukraine because once he does, NATO will start shipping in lethal weapons to the illegitimate terrorist government and its thugs in massive quantities. Ordinary Ukrainians will be caught in the middle and become literally cannon fodder for the extremist right wing thugs. The best solution is for Ukraine’s military to revolt against the putschists in Kiev. If this is not possible then Moscow must move in quickly and decisively and try to win tbe war quickly. EUS, EURO, NATO be damned.
It’s almost a consolation to see some bullshits coming also from Russia.
It was kind of depressing to have all kind of lunatic idiocies coming exclusively from your side of the border.

And I hope that no idiot will come out accusing me to support nazism. It’s just that I would make a criminal offence to combat nazism taking as model the findings of the mother of all Kangaroo Courts.
Moldavia close its border and William Hague holds talks with the Moldava government. Quoting the AP News : “Earlier Monday, British Foreign Minister William Hague held talks with Moldovan authorities, and said the former Soviet republic should move forward with talks toward closer ties to the European Union without being seen as a threat to Russia.
Hague says Britain is “strongly opposed to any external pressure or any violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
I think that a coalition of interested parties is quickly forming in the region, hoping to profit from a war between Russia and Ukraine to “liquidate” the Transnystria independantists and russian forces there.
Gentlemen, we are definitely going to have a war in this region…
Any progress on a translated transcript or subtitles for the video report yet? I didn’t see anything about this in the comments.
Dear Saker,
I want you to show the world that the german OSCE-Hostages are Agents from the germans army secret agency. Sorry all links are in german, but I’m sure you know how to read.
