Since the USA is a member of NATO , it is useless to say America and NATO. I would call them Natoists. If we have term fascist, communist, itd. it would be a nice term to introduce “The Natoist”. The Saker for some reasons does not agree with me, I don’t know why.
America controls NATO, NATO is an extension of US foreign policy, an arms length proxy, geographically closer or surrounding Russia. That distinction is important; conflating the two is an unhelpful reduction.
I can’t help you with your disagreements with the Saker.
Probably! But when you have only a couple of countries (great powers) willing to help you “at all”. You cant afford to stay too mad at one of them. Instead you “overlook” small matters and look to what your relationship with them gives you in the “big picture”.
Indeed, that’s the point, make a cooperative effort in international relations in which everyone wins, according to its own national interests.
What you can not do is always win or win everything, as is claimed by the US, and impose their interests without considering those of the others.
It’s also a clever posture, especially among gentlemen, which seems to be the case between Russians and Persians, correspond who gave you a helping hand in difficult times when others looked the other way. This is how friends are made in life, why it can not also work in the geopolitical arena?. A little honesty does not hurt, and some trust in each other, either.
In a global environment strained by blackmail, bullying, betrayal, looting, continued lies, mistrust and abject corruption, really pervasive, that someone begins to relate this way is a breath of fresh air.
I wish you both the best and many success.
There you have, you, the Russians, right next to you, a market of 80 million people, educated, friendly and peaceful, wishing to share. Good luck!
Nice video. Educational too for someone like me. Looks like Russia is becoming an expert in modern flash(y) info.
Some are saying big oil is going to be taken down a few pegs by none other than solar with its new efficiency.
Good business is good for all, not just business. What business does Russia have building nuclear reactors in other countries? Selling weapons and anti-weapons might be an unfortunate necessity until we get a stable peace. I hope Russia is investing interest-free in solar as well as polar.
Our basic business is survival. For that we need to invite Nature to the table. Saint Putin introduced us to “nature-like technologies.” That may be his greatest gift but did anyone receive it?
I thought it was a miracle that trust trumped money on some sales.
Our vineyard business is information to aid Russia. Underlying that is love for Russia for which a biblical vineyard a la the Song of Songs is sweeter than honey and richer than money.
Getting civil nuclear reactors rolled out fast would have to go long way towards reducing international political problems.
Now to answer the question, “What business does Russia have building nuclear reactors in other countries?” There are several reasons. If done right it brings profit to Russia. The reactor maintenance and refueling will continue to represent a profitable income stream far into the future (Russia likely would not the sell breeder reactors, as the standard reactor type would suffice and avoids the risk of weapons proliferation). The training of technical and support personnel begins a personal and social link between Russian people and educated people from other countries. It encourages and builds up trading links which lead to trade in other goods and services. It reduces demand for fuels which come from unstable regions. It makes the international situation safer and more stable by reducing the possibility of using energy supplies as a means to harm other countries. It allows Russia to sell more of its gas and oil to others. This keeps prices lower and allows higher standards of living everywhere.
What business does Russia have? It has the good business sense to get into this sector.
People also do not know that the power generation is a system, which must respond to demand at every moment. That means produce enough when needed, or decrease production when power is not needed. Failure to do so leads to system collapse – blackout. Solar or wind energy cannot deliver that kind of flexibility and reliability, nor can that energy be efficiently stored. Sun is good for heating water, wind is OK when we don’t need permanent or predictable energy supply. It would be very useful if people stop dreaming abut replacing classical energy sources (oil, coal, nuclear, hydro) with solar or wind energy sources for it is waste of time. One cannot break laws of physics, no matter how good intentions are.
Let me know when the Canary Islanders have snow up to their little suntanned bellybuttons, then we’ll talk about solar and wind power generation. Both power systems have a very long way to go before being commercially viable enough to address the power and heating requirements of a village, let alone and multi millions populated city, in anything besides a very favorable, gentle and temperate climate.
By the way, does your car have air conditioning and automatic transmission? If so, why do you have a car?
“Let’s be clear that I am not making any claim that large scale storage at the level we need is impossible. But it’s far more daunting than almost anyone realizes. It’s not a matter of “just” building up when the time comes. We could easily find ourselves ill-prepared and suffering insufficient energy supplies, intermittency, and a long, slow economic slide because we collectively did not anticipate the scale of the challenges ahead”
“One cannot break laws of physics,” says the physicist.
“The laws of physics could be wrong because humans made them up, but the laws of nature cannot be broken because nature imposes them,” replies the engineer.
Sorry, I could not resist.
Solar and wind are economically viable power sources today. In two to three decades, the electric energy will be provided mainly by solar power, wind power and hydro-power stations. In some countries, for instance Germany, new solar and wind power already outperforms the aging fleet of nuclear power stations. Many other countries will follow suit. The storage capacity can be minimized by flexible demand and by dropping some overproduction during peak generation hours.
Nuclear power stations are ruinous to any country building and operating them. Well, if a country wants to ruin itself, move on.
Marcel, I agree. On Yahoo News there’s been a series of ads/stories about the breakthroughs in efficiency of solar. Unless it’s a scam, the big investors like power companies see the writing on the wall and are throwing in the towel. Like you say in a decade or two solar will out-compete nuclear, and we will be left holding the bag at great expense and danger.
Dennis and Marcel, I go with Auslander, Siotu, mason, and anonymous @ 12:44. The belief in solar and wind is emotional and neither practical nor scientific. Way too weak and diffuse and intermittent. Russian science knows what its doing. So does Iranian science. The challenges can be solved and 99.9% have been solved in decades of electricity generation by nuclear fission.
But there is something better coming, and the Chinese are betting on it:………. fusion energy. They also know what they are doing. They’ll sell you solar panels and anything else you want them to make for you, but their future thinking is in that which is millions of times more energy dense than solar or wind: Fusion, the process inside the sun, not its diffusion 93 million miles away from it.

HELIUM-3 – CHINA INTENDS TO STRIP MINE THE MOON TO SOLVE WORLD’S ENERGY PROBLEMS
SCOTT FALKNER
China intends to mine the rare isotope, Helium-3 from the moon in an attempt to solve the world’s energy crisis.
According to Chinese State Media, China’s lunar orbiter has successfully locked into orbit around the moon. The spacecraft, dubbed the Chang’e 5, will next perform a soft landing on the surface of the moon. It’s mission is to collect four pounds of rock and soil samples before returning to Earth.
China first landed a robotic lander on the moon on December 14, 2013, when its Chang’e 3 spacecraft’s Yutu rover touched down successfully. When it did, Yutu’s arrival marked the first soft-landing on the satellite by a manmade spacecraft in over 37 years.
China’s next lunar step? China intends to build a mine on the moon to harvest Helium-3, a rare helium isotope. Scientists believe that mining Helium-3 from the moon may be the energy miracle the world has been waiting for. According to Ouyang Ziyuan, chief scientist of the Chinese Lunar Exploration Program, the moon is rich with Helium-3. Ziyuan says that mining the moon for the isotope could solve the world’s energy problems by providing renewable energy through nuclear fusion.
Whereas nuclear fission is the splitting of atoms to create energy, nuclear fusion is fusing two or more lighter atoms into a larger one to achieve a similar effect. Though nuclear fission doesn’t normally occur in nature, nuclear fusion occurs naturally in stars. The energy produced via nuclear fusion is three to four times greater than the energy produced by nuclear fission.
Matthew Genge, a scientist and lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering at the Imperial College in London, says that utilizing Helium-3 allows nuclear fusion to produce a tremendous amount of energy without the excess of radioactive waste produced in nuclear fission reactions. Nuclear fusion does not produce any extra neutrons. The interesting thing is that it wouldn’t take much Helium-3 to get the job done.
Scientists say that a mere 40 tons of Helium-3 harvested from the moon, (an amount that could be carried in the cargo bays of two space shuttles), could power the entire United States for over one year at its current energy consumption.
Helium-3 is rare on Earth because the atmosphere and magnetic field which surround the planet prevent any Helium 3 from landing on the surface. The Earth’s moon, however, contains vast quantities of the isotope that have been dumped there by solar winds.
China’s proclamation that it will provide enough Helium-3 to power the Earth for the next 10,000 years was met with curious optimism, a quantifier of doubt, and more than a little fear. Some wonder if China is the only country to mine the Moon, would that make for a Helium-3 monopoly?
China is the only one going to the moon these days, however. The ESA has been focused on comets. NASA’s shuttle fleet has been shelved, and there’s little on their drawing board beyond robotic and manned missions to Mars later this century, if ever.”
I was not aware China was getting into this. Interesting.
Perhaps boron might be a better alternative. It is also capable of undergoing an aneutronic fusion with hydrogen. I understand that the boron-hydrogen approach has come closest to satisfying the Lawson Criterion thus far. Still fusion is one very most tough nut to crack. In the meantime fission will suffice as it is easier and far more economic. After all, as the Russian researchers are aware 76,000,000 MJ per kg is nothing to turn your nose up at! Especially when gasoline is only around 29 MJ/kg and pretty much everything else in service even less than that.
Thanks for the tip-off about the possibility of Chinese developed He3 aneutronic fusion. Appreciated that.
I’m not a “big believer” in letting “cost” rule everything. It costs a huge amount of money for nuclear weapons defense. And even ,say, for Russia’s military defense. But I think we know what would be Russia’s fate without those weapons and their strong military. And when you personally, or with your family are cold, you seek and want heat. You don’t think,”well its so expense,I guess I’ll just freeze to death instead”. In societies, costs are important, don’t get me wrong. But not as important as the survival of the nation and its people are. That is why when I see people talk about “costs” as determining survival,I can’t understand that logic. As for nuclear energy. The way it is done right now has many drawbacks. But that doesn’t mean in the future that would be true. There are (from what I hear) many plans for new types of nuclear plants eliminating most problems. And for wind and solar energy. They are great ideas. And if there is the right spot (and technology available) they should be used whenever possible. But I don’t see an “either or” need in the World. A mix of energy sources is what I see as the World’s energy future.
Cost is important. Everything costs one way or another. If one is unable to trade goods or services in order to get what one desires, then one must do without what it is that one desires. Unless, of course, it is someone else one wishes to impose the cost of fulfilling those desires upon. Then the questions arise, how to force them to pay, how to force them to pay for one’s desires. Ultimately this leads to coercion, deceptions and violence etc.
There are no free lunches in this life. Someone always has to pay. It is best if each pays his own way and avoids forcing his costs on top of other people.
You see there is where we differ considerably. I think people and the needs of the “nation” are more important. And always, in all things, trump the wishes of the money elite. You on the other hand seem to believe that the money interests trump the needs of the nation and the people. Its the age old dispute of whether the people should rule or the powerful should rule. Right now the powerful rule. But at various times the “World turns upside down” and the people gain power. I’m thinking we are heading for another of those times, even if it isn’t there yet.
“I think people and the needs of the “nation” are more important. And always, in all things, trump the wishes of the money elite. You on the other hand seem to believe that the money interests trump the needs of the nation and the people.”
Have you any idea how many power stations the wealth of the top 1% of Russians (or Americans or…) could buy?
The needs of the nation are not the needs of the people.
I wish you’d stop generalizing too this extreme extent – the “nation” is generally a poor descriptor of the needs of anyone.
PS: when did “the people” ever have power cf the rich/powerful?
You state that people and the needs of the “nation” are more important. Please clarify what it is they are more important than exactly. I am intrigued.
Anyway, whatever it is that these concepts “are more important” than in no way escapes cost. Everything costs. Costs are always paid, as they always must be. There is no free lunch.
In respect of what I “seem to believe”, you assume too much. While such assumptions may be convenient, they are baseless & misguided. What I do know is that mass killings, violence and associated barbarity (coercion, enslavement, torture, theft, forcible expropriations, rape etc) are evil and are never justified, even by tales of the historic past. My preference is for civil discourse and voluntary transaction.
If business serves the greatest good of all, it is safe and sustainable.
If business is just business for business sake, in other words for money, it is locked into an unsustainable position which is not safe, and can only be enforced with power. Witness the wars.
Business is good. It is good every time I buy goods and services. It is good every time I sell goods and services. I can confidently say the same about the business activities of my family members, my friends and my colleagues. I can say that about every person I voluntarily transact with. Business is good for all of us. We trade.
What about you? Can you say the same or is it a preference to engage in coercion, fraud, initiations of violence and force? How is it with you?
“Business is good. It is good every time I buy goods and services. It is good every time I sell goods and services.”
No, it serves as the conduit to attempt to satisfy your unquenchable thirst for things which you don’t need.
It serves as the conduit for the smart & the greedy to amass more (of everything) to themselves than others. The more “stuff” one has the more power one has and this inevitably leads to abuse of that power.
So one can only say that business is necessary (we do need some things) but, ultimately, it is the source of all evil.
Man is a social creature. Each must by nature deal with others (else live the life of a totally isolated lone hermit). Each interacts with the other in various ways to gain what each desires. This may be goods, services, company, even friendship- whatever. The choice each faces is what the nature of the interaction will be. Either it is voluntary mutual co-operation or it is by coercion, commission of fraud, initiation of violence and force etc. The choice is fundamental and one of moral principle.
My choice is to follow a path of voluntary mutual co-operation. I trade with other people, as they do with me. I do not steal from them or attack them with violence. Mutual co-operation in my interactions, transactions and trades with other people is how I survive and indeed thrive. I would no more consider going down to the general store with a machete to force the store-keeper and his lovely daughter to let me steal their wares then I would attempt to force their allegiance and friendship with said machete. Interestingly enough the shopkeeper and his daughter have never attempted to gain any goods or services from me or other people I know by coercion, threats or even by attacking. Indeed, they have attacked not a single person. And yet they live well. A do I. That is business and it is indeed good. So, when I want to get something from them I visit their place to trade value for value. What would you do in my place? Rob them? Slice them to pieces? Hurt and enslave them? The choice that faces each of us is clear. What, sir, do you do?
Next topic. What I need or do not need is not your business. It is my business what I choose to trade for or trade away. You are not a party to the interaction. Sure, you may not like that the things I like. Nevertheless that never can justify you acting to initiate forceful control over me, what I choose to purchase or what I acquire. As I am not initiating force on you, my choices are my business. In equal measure that applies to me also. What you need or do not need is not any of my business. It is your business what you choose to trade for or trade away. I may not like that the things that you like. Nevertheless that never can justify me acting to initiate forceful control over you, what you choose to purchase or what you acquire. As you are not initiating force on me, your choices are your business.
As far as power is concerned. You are referring here to the realm of politics. In this there is indeed great corruption. The power to which you refer is the exercise of coercion, constant lies and great violence. It is not acquired or wielded by transacting business. That is, it is not acquired by voluntary mutual co-operation. Business, as I have described to you here, is exactly the opposite of the abuse of other people by coercive force, lies and violence.
You ask what do I like more of. I like more business since business is good. I like less politics since politics is, in these troubling times, about power over others.
Quoting, “Put that down to the bad design of the system – look where it has got us.”
Who is this “us” white man? For whom is it you pretend to speak?
Look, I go up to the store and trade for my food and other items. I have asked you what it is you do and you have not answered. Is this because you would would favour coercion, frauds, violence and destruction over mutual co-operation? Is it that you would bring down coercion and threats, even destruction upon the storekeeper and his daughter to get what you want from them? Your silence is eloquent.
I don’t pretend to anything. I “speak with” my opinion as a man on behalf of mankind.
“I have asked you what it is you do and you have not answered.”
This is trivial – I was a telecoms system designer who ended up in a finance position, now retired.
You may find it easier to think of an equivalence with the “foodchain” – you must eat to survive and you may enjoy it but the inbuilt design of agony and blood spilt is horrendous.
Baptism of fire: Russia Prepares to Test Next-Generation Su-35S Fighters in Syria
Russia is preparing to test the next-generation Su-35S fighters for the first time in combat in Syria, a military source told a Russian newspaper on Monday.
“The General Staff has decided to run a field test of the brand-new Su-35S in Syria for the first time ever,” the Kommersant newspaper cited its source as saying.
The Su-35S is a 4++ generation one-seater, which is an upgraded version of the Su-27 multirole fighter. Russia aims to modernize its military hardware by 2020 as part of a large-scale overhaul of its armed forces.
Following Ankara’s latest (and unsubstantiated) claims that a Russian Su-34 bomber crossed into Turkey on Friday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned that Moscow would “have to bear the consequences” if similar incidents take place again, but his ability to respond is extremely limited.
Ankara’s hands are tied due to “the de facto no-fly zone” Russia has created in northern Syria, Turkish military expert Metin Gurcan told Business Insider. He was referring to the advanced S-400 air defense system, which Moscow deployed to the Hmeymim Air Base following the Su-24 downing in late 2015. “As a result, Turkey has lost its capacity to change the strategic situation both on the ground and in Syrian airspace as an independent actor.”
“I consider these allegations as a futile attempt to justify the treacherous Su-24 downing,” Franz Klintsevich, deputy chair of the Defense Committee at the upper-house Federation Council in the Russian parliament, told the news agency.
These all what I saw in this video is a big nonsense. Iran must be admitted into BRICS and SCO. Iran should allow Russian ships some naval bases and Iran and Russia should create something like NATO – one for all, all for one.
Iran should have relations something like EU states have among themselves.
I have just seen a news report on RT News that 10,000 migrant children have disappeared since entering the EU. 5000 vanished in Italy, another 1000 went missing in purer than driven snow Sweden, and the rest God only knows.
This you don’t hear a peep from western MSM about, instead its all about the brown immigrant hordes descending on purer than pure Europe to ravage the poor European women, sick damn hypocrites. What a rotten world we live in.
Teenage girl admits making up migrant rape claim that outraged Germany
A 13-year-old Russian-German girl has admitted making up a story about being kidnapped and raped by migrants in a case that triggered a furore in Germany and briefly embroiled Berlin police in a spat with the Kremlin, state prosecutors said.
The parents of the teenager, named only as Lisa, reported her missing on 11 January after she failed to appear at school in the Marzahn district of the capital. She reappeared 30 hours later with injuries on her face, and told her parents she had been attacked by men of Middle Eastern or north African appearance. News of the incident spread on social media, sparking outrage among Berlin’s Russian-German community.
But when she was questioned by trained specialists three days later “she immediately admitted that the story of the rape was not true”, said the spokesman for the state prosecutor, Martin Steltner.
He said the teenager had been scared of going home after the school had contacted her parents over an incident at school.
Yet the allegations caused uproar in Berlin, particularly after reports of mass sexual assaults allegedly carried out by migrants in Cologne. A Russian-German community group staged a protest, supported by the Pegida-related Bärgida movement. The far-right National Democratic party also demonstrated in Marzahn.
Regarding the above story from the Guardian newspaper I just posted about the 13 yr. old Russian German girl making up her mass rape story by migrants, I would just like to ask one question, how many innocent refugees and immigrants have gotten assaulted and beaten up and hospitalized as a result of this girls story which was causing such an uproar in Germany and beyond ? Because I remember reading in Fortruss about groups of men from the Russian community in Berlin arming themselves to go and attack a refugee centre there, again something you didn’t hear a mention about in the western MSM.
How quick are people to rush to conclusions which ultimately pander to their own innate prejudices.
I posted a reply here before saying this made up krap happens more often than not and that video or audio evidence is not what you think unless you know the entire history of events. Many people play games like this to get others into trouble. It looks serious and real but it is only a game.
Let me add something:the western MSMs are informing about this story but in a sense that puts the blame on Russia. They say that Russia is deliberatly instigating anger among the russians who are living in Germany against the policy of Angela Merkel regarding the refugees.More than that, they are stating(in the newspapers and ZDF channel)that Russia is helping the German far-right parties, interfering in Germany’s internal affairs.

New Rules of Engagement on the Battlefield and in the Diplomatic Arena
Translated by Sufyan Jan for Fort Russ Written by Elijah J. Magnier (@ejmalrai)
Russia upgraded & refurnished 9 Syrian MiG-29 into Fulcrum MiG-29SMT.
Russia imposed new rules of engagement on the Turkish-Syrian borders.
Russia put an end to the Syrian – Turkish 1998 agreement
A source who’s a senior officer within the joint operation command consisting of Syria, Russia, Iran, Hezbollah has said “Russia has established new rules of engagement on the Syrian-Turkish border, and has retained the upper hand for the Syrian air force and the Syrian army, Russia also refurbished and upgraded custom made Syrian MiG29, to protect the Russian air force squadrons, with clear orders to shoot down Turkish planes that enter the Syrian air space”
The source goes on to say to Al Rai, “The agreement previously concluded with Turkey during the presidency of the late Hafez Assad in 1998, which says no Syrian air force units should come within 15 Km of the Turkish-Syrian border on Syria’s side (the agreement by which Syria expelled the Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, after Turkey, having amassed 10,000 soldiers, threatened to invade Syria), the agreement also included that no army battalions are to be deployed, and that only officers and border control personnel are allowed, this has all gone down the drain”, adding “gone is the time of retracting the statement “Iskandaron strip will be liberated” from school books, gone also is the time of Turkey downing a Syrian air craft and/or helicopter. Turkey’s dream of creating a safe zone is dead in the water, and with it the supply lines to send men and arms to the Syrian Turkmen to undermine Damascus. After Russia’s direct intervention in Syria, there has been drastic changes, especially after the downing of the Russian bomber Sukhoi Su-24 by Turkish F16’s last November, thus making this particular bomber the costliest of its kind, causing strategic and economic losses to Istanbul”
having upgraded the MiG29 to MiG29-SM, installing them with ZHUK-M radar that is able to track 10 targets, and engage with 4 at one particular moment, covering 120Km having 5Km width, it is now able to launch the lethal R77 missiles, also installed on these air crafts along with other gadgets is a radio jamming device, and the upgrading enables it to carry other highly developed missiles and bombs such as the KAB-500S-E. These upgrades make the MiG29-SM the most advanced in the fourth generation line up”.
The senior source confirms “Russia has requested from Syria to conduct around the clock patrols on the Syrian-Turkish border, to ensure the safety of the Russian bombers, Russia having established new rules of engagement have authorized the Syrian air force, specifically the MiG29-SM squadron, to engage with any Turkish targets that have violated Syrian air space or attempts to violate. By doing this Russia has given Syria its sovereignty back having lost it in 1998, and completely losing it in 2011 at the start of the revolution in Syria, as of today Syria air forces have a mandate to strike any violation without confirming with HQ, this in turn has given the Syrians a boost of morale, especially as they have been given a mandate by a super power like Russia that is physically present in Syria”
Russia has taken the initiative in Syria and established its dominance on the full breadth and width of the country. Politically, in Geneva on Monday the Russians are determined not to yield to the opposition anything that would endanger the grounds gained on the battlefield, and not to accept anyone who has been or still is in communication with Salafi-Jihadis ( Al-Nusra, Ahrar Al-Sham, and whoever pledged their allegiance to them or fights within their ranks). Furthermore Russia will not halt any military advancements during the Geneva talks as stated in the UN resolution, especially now that Damascus and the Kremlin hold all the cards”.
Turkey has killed a lot of Syrian soldiers but this time the Russians caught them and are putting Nato on the spot. because this is an act of war not only against Syria but also Russia.. Since nato wanted to stick their weenie in the vice, well.. weiner weiner.. I think we can expect a really tough response from Russia over this. Most likely putting Russian howitzers directly on the Turkish border.. Hope Nato has the stomach because they are now directly engaging both the Syrian army and their advisors. And if I am reading this right, Syria is purposely violating Turkish air space with backing from Russia or appearing to violate it as 2 Syrian planes were shot down by turkey and their pilots burnt by Turkish backed terrorists. Turkey don’t have anything to counter the upgraded Mig29’s let alone the SU35’s.. Hmmmm Think if Turkey scrambles fighters those Mig29’s will turn into SU35’s in a flash.. If the SU35’s shoot down any F16’s, the might of nato’s backbone will break.. Until now nato only has superiority on paper.. If that turns into reality expect a sudden panic of holders of US$’s and Euros..
Turkey artillery bombard Jabal Atira in reef Latakia with 11 shells inside Syrian land.
One SAA was killed and 5 wounded in Turkey bombardment to reef Latakia Jabal Atira today.
Despite denials, Russia violates the Turkish air space without any reaction from Istanbul. Russia Su24 fly with Syria MIG29 SMT.
Russia and Syria Air Forces carried hundreds (Yes 100s) of attacks in northern reef Aleppo on Bashqoi front. Big ops. #Syria.
Russia would like to test its new Su35S stationed at Hamemeen airport in real combat. So far only SU 35 carried mock fight. The new Russian Su35S are participating too in the ongoing military operation in Northern Aleppo Syria.
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Russian Defence Ministry obtained video proof of Syrian civilian areas being shelled from Turkish border posts, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.
The Russian Defence Ministry expects an explanation from NATO, Pentagon and Turkish Armed Forces on the incident. The correspoding statement was made on Monday by the Ministry’s spokesman Igor Konashenkov, Sputnik reported.
Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov demonstrated the video depicting a part of the Syrian-Turkish border during the press-conference.
“This facility is a Turkish border outpost, which did not have any firing points a few months ago,” he said.

Russian-led Coalition Heading for ‘Stunning Victory’ in Syria
TEHRAN (FNA)- Western media coverage does not accurately reflect what is happening on the Syrian battlefield, US journalist Mike Whitney wrote for the CounterPunch magazine: Damascus-led forces, assisted by Russian warplanes, have turned the tide of war and are on the way to flush radicals out of the country.
Unlike America’s military engagement in Afghanistan and Iraq, this process will not be a protracted one, Whitney added, Sputnik reported.
I don’t usually quote anything from this led false front bunch, but since it’s carried on the alternate news sites the few that there are, here it is.
this tells just how serious & how promptly the EU will “investigate” that very damning very documented UN report showing how much arms sales Old Blighty is making to S.A.:

Crocodile Tears: EU Has Yemeni Blood on Its Hands
TEHRAN (FNA)- The European Union governments appear like angels until you hear them speak. However, one must not rush to judge people by the beauty of their words, but by the content of their actions.
And the true content of their actions is what this write-up is all about. The EU member states have just confirmed they are to “look into” calls to investigate Britain’s arms sales to Saudi Arabia. Fundamentally, there is a perfect reason for this laughable probe. Just like the British government, they have blood on their hands, they are embarrassed that the world knows about it, and they want the world to look the other way while the business is good.
That’s exactly what the lunatics have been doing since last March. Just for the record, Britain made some $1.5 billion in “declared” arms sales to Saudi Arabia in just three months last year, with France, Italy, Belgium and Spain also involved in the trade.
Looks like final push to drive Senor Erdogan’s Ali Baba oil imports out of business.
Could be this late finality is why that escalation/shelling over on the very east border, & the stories a week ago looking correct that Turk really is building up a land war invasion army there.
Would explain also Russia abrogating that 1998 agreement, & now to bring in Su-35s.
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Northern city of al-Bab in the Eastern parts of Aleppo province which is used by the ISIL as the main route to smuggle stolen oil cargos to Turkey has become a scene of rivalry between the Syrian army and Kurds to take it back from the terrorists.
The Kurds are now trying to advance in the Northern parts of Aleppo, bordering Turkey, to approach al-Bab city and seize it back to pave the ground for the establishment of an independent state after taking control of Hasaka, Raqa and Aleppo in future.
Also, the Syrian army and popular forces have advanced to the regions 11km away from al-Bab in recent days to win back the city and reach the bordering areas with Turkey to prevent implementation of the Kurds’ plan for an independent state.
For using decades old dumb bombs, Russia does not seem to have a problem destroying columns of ammo trucks on the road.. And from seeing the pip squeaks running off at the sounds of Russian jets, nether do they believe the bombs are any less accurate than missiles.
Some major SAA offensives in Aleppo and a lot of terrorist reserves were brought up. If they can close this are it would trap like 10,000 or more terrorists but it is very well defended.. Large force of SAA, NDF and 3 Iraqi militias in battle..Pro-#Assad forces take Duwayr al-Zeytoun and Jibbin.

moonofalabama has this interesting piece in their article up Feb 1:
When the Syrian army and its supporters have cleared the Latakia area near Turkey Russia will install a new far reaching radar and a listening post on one of its hilltops. Such a station will allow the observance of all air and sea movements for hundreds of kilometers into Turkey. It will be part of the price Turkey and NATO have to pay for the ambush of the Russian plane.
I’m just wondering how far the rus jamming systems go, they probably fade away don’t just stop at some distance at a border , so if they go into Turkish territory is that considered to be invasive?????
It does look like Putin has given the order to take Oil to the $20 level.. And I thought now that oil went under $30 maybe that was it, seems that is not to be.. Iran has already said they would not cut anything and would increase by another million barrels a day once their 50 mil or so stored oil is old.. The fake Saudi uncle cry was a test to see how the Russians would react.. In the 80’s life was not so good.. How would they live without those high priced French hookers and expensive whine and dine.. That 500 bil wont last long at $20 oil when you have nothing else to sell and don’t grow anything.
Russia’s Gazprom Test-Runs $20-25 Per Barrel Oil Price Scenario
Russia’s energy giant Gazprom is testing this year’s budget based on oil prices averaging between $20 per barrel to $25 per barrel, the deputy head of the company’s financial and economic department said Monday.
“We are now working on analyzing scenarios with an average oil price of $25 and $20 per barrel,” Igor Shatalov said at the Investor Day webcast in New York.
Shatalov said the company tailored its budget based on oil price forecasts of $35 per barrel, allowing it to adapt to market realities.
“Extensive Information” Obtained from US Sailors Captured by IRGC

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said the forces extracted a lot of information from the confiscated cell phones and laptops of the US sailors recently captured by Iran after intrusion into the country’s territorial waters.
“We have extracted extensive information from their (American sailors’) laptops and cell phones,” Admiral Fadavi said in a parliamentary session in Tehran on Monday.
The IRGC commander went on to say that the information can be made public if a decision is made to that effect.
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli military forces blocked entries to the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah for all non-residents of the Palestinian city a day after three Israeli soldiers were injured in an attack there.
“In accordance with situation assessments following yesterday’s shooting attack in Beit El, security measures have been taken in the area and only residents of Ramallah are allowed to enter the city,” a military spokeswoman said on Monday.
“..A global organization for extortion and racketeering”? That describes the USA/NATO/Elites perfectly. Sovereignty is of course deprecated.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
““..A global organization for extortion and racketeering”? That describes the USA/NATO/Elites perfectly.”
It doesn’t.
Geographically, you’d have to include a few other countries & regions for that to be the case.
You are talking about something else. But never mind.
You are talking about something else. But never mind.
Illiana Ros-Lehtinen is rabid in all her stances, she hates the Cuban people.
I wonder if Iran is angry because Russia froze the S300 contract earlier.
Good luck!
Thanks Seva for your work and The Saker for publish it.
“What business does Russia have building nuclear reactors in other countries?”
Because solar power is a p*ss in the ocean in the status quo global energy equation ? Despite what some well-meaning but ignorant dreamers say.
The Chinese probably have undertaken the most advanced nuclear electricity generation research presently. They are working on molten thorium salt reactors. These really are a game changer. Of course, Russians have not forgotten nuclear electricity generation research, although they are working on a different fuel cycle than are the Chinese.
http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/186023-russia-bets-its-energy-future-on-waste-free-fast-breeder-nuclear-reactors
Siotu
“Solar or wind energy cannot deliver that kind of flexibility and reliability”
er

Let me know when the Canary Islanders have snow up to their little suntanned bellybuttons, then we’ll talk about solar and wind power generation. Both power systems have a very long way to go before being commercially viable enough to address the power and heating requirements of a village, let alone and multi millions populated city, in anything besides a very favorable, gentle and temperate climate.
By the way, does your car have air conditioning and automatic transmission? If so, why do you have a car?
Auslander
Auslander, I think the market needs e book about Crimea and these events which led to unification with Russia written by a Russian.
I think you have started already.
We are all fed up reading the books about the Russian history written by the writers from the Nato – lands.
And please, don’t use the terms “west, western” in you book on “Unification of Crimea with the motherland Russia” use the term “The Natoists”.
Please do not be so parochial.
The point is reverse water pumping could be an alternative in many regions to even demand.
“By the way, does your car have air conditioning and automatic transmission? If so, why do you have a car?”
Car has air con (never use it) – no auto transmission.
Why do you ask?
Are there the same conditions everywhere or just on that island? Please. Thing!
“Are there the same conditions everywhere”
No – I never said there was
“Let’s be clear that I am not making any claim that large scale storage at the level we need is impossible.

JANUARY 14, 2015
Re aneutronic fusion with He3.

Uncle Bob 1
Cost is important. Everything costs one way or another. If one is unable to trade goods or services in order to get what one desires, then one must do without what it is that one desires. Unless, of course, it is someone else one wishes to impose the cost of fulfilling those desires upon. Then the questions arise, how to force them to pay, how to force them to pay for one’s desires. Ultimately this leads to coercion, deceptions and violence etc.
There are no free lunches in this life. Someone always has to pay. It is best if each pays his own way and avoids forcing his costs on top of other people.
Siotu
Uncle Bob 1
Siotu
“Good business is good for all, not just business”
Why?
Good question.
If business serves the greatest good of all, it is safe and sustainable.
If business is just business for business sake, in other words for money, it is locked into an unsustainable position which is not safe, and can only be enforced with power. Witness the wars.
Ok.
“If business serves the greatest good of all, it is safe and sustainable.”
When has that ever occurred?
Business is good. It is good every time I buy goods and services. It is good every time I sell goods and services. I can confidently say the same about the business activities of my family members, my friends and my colleagues. I can say that about every person I voluntarily transact with. Business is good for all of us. We trade.
What about you? Can you say the same or is it a preference to engage in coercion, fraud, initiations of violence and force? How is it with you?
Siotu
“Business is good. It is good every time I buy goods and services. It is good every time I sell goods and services.”
No, it serves as the conduit to attempt to satisfy your unquenchable thirst for things which you don’t need.
It serves as the conduit for the smart & the greedy to amass more (of everything) to themselves than others. The more “stuff” one has the more power one has and this inevitably leads to abuse of that power.
So one can only say that business is necessary (we do need some things) but, ultimately, it is the source of all evil.
What do you like more of?
Mr Anonymous
You are wrong.
Siotu
“Each interacts with the other in various ways to gain what each desires.”
Put that down to the bad design of the system – look where it has got us.
I may be wrong, in your opinion – but it is only your opinion.
You may be aware that “Money is the root of all evil” is only a quote.
Please continue to look after youeslf and your own business – i’m sure you will.
PS: that quote from a book that I believe is a fairy tale.
Mr Anonymous
Quoting, “Put that down to the bad design of the system – look where it has got us.”
Who is this “us” white man? For whom is it you pretend to speak?
Look, I go up to the store and trade for my food and other items. I have asked you what it is you do and you have not answered. Is this because you would would favour coercion, frauds, violence and destruction over mutual co-operation? Is it that you would bring down coercion and threats, even destruction upon the storekeeper and his daughter to get what you want from them? Your silence is eloquent.
Siotu
“Who is this “us” white man?
No – all of Mankind.
“For whom is it you pretend to speak?”

From the Guardian today :

It looks serious and real but it is only a game.
know the truth
Let me add something:the western MSMs are informing about this story but in a sense that puts the blame on Russia. They say that Russia is deliberatly instigating anger among the russians who are living in Germany against the policy of Angela Merkel regarding the refugees.More than that, they are stating(in the newspapers and ZDF channel)that Russia is helping the German far-right parties, interfering in Germany’s internal affairs.
ooops two can play this game…

The new Russian Su35S are participating too in the ongoing military operation in Northern Aleppo Syria.

http://en.farsnews.com/newstext.aspx?nn=13941112001782

Also, the Syrian army and popular forces have advanced to the regions 11km away from al-Bab in recent days to win back the city and reach the bordering areas with Turkey to prevent implementation of the Kurds’ plan for an independent state.
for scale, recall 1 degree latitude is about 60 NM–al Bab there is showing about 1 inch south of the Turkey border:

Russian Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov says @mod_russia has obtained video of #Turkey shelling civilian areas in #Syria – @SputnikInt
moonofalabama has this interesting piece in their article up Feb 1:
When the Syrian army and its supporters have cleared the Latakia area near Turkey Russia will install a new far reaching radar and a listening post on one of its hilltops. Such a station will allow the observance of all air and sea movements for hundreds of kilometers into Turkey. It will be part of the price Turkey and NATO have to pay for the ambush of the Russian plane.
I’m just wondering how far the rus jamming systems go, they probably fade away don’t just stop at some distance at a border , so if they go into Turkish territory is that considered to be invasive?????
Hmm.

Israeli Army Bans Entry to Ramallah for Non-Residents

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli military forces blocked entries to the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah for all non-residents of the Palestinian city a day after three Israeli soldiers were injured in an attack there.
“In accordance with situation assessments following yesterday’s shooting attack in Beit El, security measures have been taken in the area and only residents of Ramallah are allowed to enter the city,” a military spokeswoman said on Monday.
