Kaliningrad: There is a lot of back history to the place also. it was a buffer area for attacks heading toward St. Petersburg. Thanks for the new music and most excellent presentation.
Its fake. If it was true we’d be hearing of dozens of Russian missiles striking all over Turkey as I type these words. They would be showing “Turkey” what “shock and awe” really means.
Strategically, maintaining such an isolated outpost makes no sense.
Historically, this has never been a Russian land, it was shamelessly annexed because at the time the winners wanted to finish and destroy Germany and its people once and for all.
Economically it’s a burden and Morally this is the notoriously most corrupt region of Russia.
Honesty asks this territory to be kindly returned (sold ? exchanged ?) to Germany.
If there was a time when ‘winners wanted to end Germany and it’s people once and for all’, there probably wouldn’t be no Germany today. On the other hand Germans really did want to subjugate and exterminate large portions of population in Europe. Especially ‘subhuman’ Slavic race.
Do not forget that the Russians kept their word and withdraw in an orderly fashion without a single bullet fired once the two Germany’s were reunited.
No, Germans didn’t feel victor’s wrath. At least not the way the Germans would finish off the Russians and the rest if they have won the war.
So, honesty asks that Germans think twice before asking others to do what’s right.
Certainly Germany suffered horribly during and after the war. But in no way can what happened to the Germans compare to the “horrors” the Germans inflicted on the peoples of the USSR. If they had responded in the same manner to the Germans the German people would be only a memory from history today.Any attempt to claim differently is purely pro-nazi Western propaganda. And should be dismissed as such.
I am not kidding. Germany was the aggressor. Going too soft on Germans was the biggest mistake of the Soviet Union. Germany should’ve never been allowed to make a BB gun ever again.
Want Kaliningrad? Bidding starts at 26 million souls.
Surely you are joking? Did you not understand ice free access to the Baltic and the naval strategic importance of that or the missile defensive coverage against the USA’s NATO aggressor?
For some other related background of geopolitical stances and how it pertains to Russia, Gilbert Doctorow has an excellent summary of what you will never see in Western controlled media, namely Lavrov’s annual press conference:
Good point Uncle Bob, and, at the risk of over-simplification, perhaps those in Latvia and Lithuania (might as well throw in isolated Estonia while at it) that don’t like Russia could join the Bandera enclave and enjoy themselves strutting around with flaming torches while in SS rune adorned attire and waving neo-nazi flags?
Good point ! Making a “ghetto”,so to speak, for all the nazi groups in Europe out of West Ukraine might solve that problem in Europe.Sort of like a “history” zoo. While the rest of Ukraine (and Europe) can make a life for themselves in peace, and in consort with Russia.
A ghetto for euro-nazis? Great idea. Love the discussion above. But why throw away good land in west Ukraine for such a noble project when there is an ideal wasteland nearby? I mean the region surrounding Chernobyl. Build a wall (but call it a “separation barrier” so there is no mistaking who to reference it to) around the radiated area and deposit the sods inside. And since the current nazi fad is a project of zionazi, inc., round those things up and chuck them in there too.
Better build that ‘separation barrier’ pretty high and an infestation of radio-active neo-nazis with two heads might be an issue -although they’d probably be stupid enough to try to eliminate each other.
This might require a whole new expression to replace ‘cutting off your nose to spite your face’…
If Russia was ever forced to give the area up,it wouldn’t be returned to Germany. It would be divided between Lithuania and Poland. Returning it to Germany would reopen the prospect of “what about the other ex-German areas”. And that is something the EU doesn’t want to do.
Other than Nato/US i can see no natural reason why it should ever leave russian hands.
like a lot of that region it was German. Some of the region is now very much Poland and inhabited by Poles. Some is very much Lithuania and inhabited by Lithuanians and Russians miniorities.
Kaliningrad is now very much Russia and inhabited by Russians.
Try to give it to Poland – and there really is no desire for it (I live in Warsaw).
Try to give it to Germany and the world, as you say would go wild – Germany has a much greater claim to a third of Poland.
Give it to Lithuania and they’ll have to give Russian speakers (non lithuanian speakers) the vote – and who knows what they might lead to.
Oh, yes – yrr.
Moscow will return or exchange it pretty soon.
Soon as the empirers return guantanamo to Cuba and the unitedkingdomers hand over Gibraltar back to Spain.
“Strategically, maintaining such an isolated outpost makes no sense.”
Why would Germans want it back then? There a little thing called Poland between Germany and Kaliningrad and it would then become a German(i`m guessing it`s a keyword) isolated outpost. As the report said, from it Russia can neutralize NATO radars, bases, airfields deep inside central Europe. To me it sounds strategically invaluable. Annoying fascists quasi elites of Poland/Lithuania and NATO in general is a fun bonus effect.
“Historically, this has never been a Russian land, it was shamelessly annexed because at the time the winners wanted to finish and destroy Germany and its people once and for all.”
There are still both Germany and the Germans. I always thought that dividing historical Prussia region between than USSR and Poland was one of the better ideas. That way the bellicose Prussian aristocracy and German militarism lost it heartland once and for all. Historically speaking, it was never German land anyway. Germans butchered/ expelled local population and colonised it themselves.
“Honesty asks this territory to be kindly returned (sold ? exchanged ?) to Germany.”
Write a petition to Russian Duma, add the words “shamelessly annexed” in it and I am sure they will return it. While youre at it, also write a petition to Polish Sejm or Senate) demanding the return of “shamelessly annexed” historical German regions in Poland( roughly 1/3-1/2 of Poland today).
OT but not much. It seems the Turks and NATO are still trying to cause problems in the Eastern Med. Turkey now says a Russian plane “again” violated their airspace. They called in the Russian Ambassador to complain and NATO is also complaining about it. The Russian government denies that it happened. But more important than that (Russia see’s that as just “another” provocation”). Is the inadequate way RT wrote about it. That exposes a “real problem” that needs to be addressed. There must be quite a few 5th column elements allowed to work at RT. And if there is an editor that reads and approves what is posted in their articles, then he or she must be one of them. And needs to be replaced quickly. We know from the last incident that Russia officially denied that the attacked Russian bomber went into Turkish airspace at all. Yet ,here is how RT reported on that in this article,” In November, Turkey downed a Russian bomber, a Su-24, after it briefly violated the country’s airspace.” So they are accepting the Turkish/NATO story, that the Russian government denied. It’s just that type of sabotage that needs to be purged out.One of the Western media’s main “tricks” is to insert certain words and their viewpoint into an otherwise accurate story. Its one of the many ways they manipulate the “news” in the West. Its outrageous that they are allowed to do that through 5th columnists in Russia as well. That needs exposure, and the problem fixed.
You see (read) what I see (read). “RT” is the “NY Times” of Russia. And that is an insult.
The information struggle inside Russia would be tolerable, if the other Patriotic Russian medias would take issue with and Expose “RT” as a 5th Column traitorous rag.

An insult?anton, i thank all the gods of the tundra that there is an RT. I could say the comparison is itself a compliment.
The widespread hate vs RT in the west… is in turn the best compliment.
I believe RT is a good thing. They do far more good than harm. But the West constantly tries to infiltrate all media outlets. And when that is seen,it needs to be corrected.
It seems someone at RT noticed what I did. They have now updated the story correctly. It now says,” In November, Turkey downed a Russian a Su-24 bomber, also claiming that it had violated the country’s airspace, albeit for 17 seconds. The plane went down in Syria. Moscow has denied that any breach occurred and has accused the Turkish government of supporting terrorist forces in Syria.” Good correction by RT. But they shouldn’t have needed to do that. The correct quote should have been posted in the first place.
“Italy is one of the few western countries that is still resisting this deviation,” Massimo Gandolfini, the organizer of demonstration, told Sky Tg24.”
“Commander Michael Vannak Khem Misiewicz is the latest US Navy officer to plead guilty in a massive corruption scandal involving a defense contractor and dozens of naval personnel.

“Social media users were less concerned about impartiality, quickly dubbing the occupiers “Vanilla ISIS” – a reference to the terror group occupying portions of Syria and Iraq – or “Y’all Qaeda,” associating an expression from the southern US with Islamic terrorism.
Seizing on the militia’s request that their supporters send snacks and packages with supplies, critics began sending boxes of sex toys to the refuge instead. Calling it “hate mail,” militia member Jon Ritzheimer posted a video on Facebook complaining about the special “care packages.”
“They spend and waste their money on all this hateful stuff to send out here to us, and buy this ridiculous stuff, even this one was really funny, a bag of d**ks,” he said in a January 13 recording, which has since been taken down by Facebook.”
But they went ahead and used the toys,
just the same.
