Unfortunately ; the political establishment in the USA as well as other Western countries are so fearful of the collapse of their economies because of their fraudulent Central Banking activities of the past couple hundred years ; that they need a distraction { an enemy} to deflect their people’ attention from their own criminal malfeasance. The ” so called ” Western Elites do not understand how tough and tenacious the Russian people really are. Strike first at the centers of power ; when you have some certainty that Russia will be attacked. Please leave the Heartland alone. As a second generation Polish american who recently visited Russia ; I admire how rapidly the Russian people recovered from the Banker inspired Soviet Regime. Forget the current POTUS. Trump’s personal history is that of Wm. Faulkner’s SNOPES FAMILY. The individual is in reality a ” Carnival Barker “. Napoleon and Hitler did not prevail. { tho Hitler and Stalin were both psychopaths who had a falling out and were equally responsible for that tragic war}. will be followed by another defeated nation. Stalin was not a psychopath. Hitler was a banker puppet, financed by the Bank of International Settlements which was opened in Basel in 1931, two years before Hitler came to power. However, you are basically correct. The elites in the US need a distraction, so they create enemies. Russia is a nice target, and one they would just love to break up and plunder.

Good interview. I enjoyed watching it.

Once the general population can no longer sport Starbucks drinks and revel in the oration of the Starbucks coffee lingua… maybe then… when fueling sewer pipe sized tail-pipe equipped exhaust systems on lifted, turbo diesel, trucks is no longer tenable… perhaps then… ‘Americans’ will care.

Maybe then they will put on their yellow vests. The trick is to keep preoccupied with a balance of both comforts and debt for so long that, should we ever wake up, it will be too late to make effect any change.

For an excerpt of the interview transcript, see the latest Russian Embassy Weekly #17.

Starbucks swill is not coffee. Could be whale exhalation, possibly.

  5. Roacheforque on February 13, 2019  ·  at 9:21 am EST/EDT

Perhaps not “average” Americans, but certainly many well informed Americans who understand history and resist many years of propaganda from multiple fronts. It is a shame that the little people are caught up in the squabbles of their masters – but we empower global corporatism to rule over us with “debt as wealth” therefore we dance to their puppet songs.

    Russia is not completely blameless.

  6. Tom Welsh on February 13, 2019  ·  at 11:29 am EST/EDT

An excellent and very informative interview; thanks!

Ambassador Antonov presents the very image of a professional diplomat, always working indefatigably for peace and understanding. His language is very calm and understated.

However, there are a few “difficulties” – about which I am sure he knows far more than I do.

To take one example, he praised the USA for its role as the USSR’s ally in WW2. But he did not mention that the USA remained neutral for over two years, and only went to war against Germany after Hitler personally had declared war on the USA in support of his ally Japan.

Nor did he mention that the USA did not start very slight, tentative hostilies against Germany until it was prefectly clear that the German invasion of the USSR had come to a grinding halt in December 1941. Arguably from then on – and certainly from Stalingrad on – the USSR was sure to defeat Germany. Then it was just a question of timing: who would capture and loot Germany first? While the fierce German wolf was fighting its hopeless battle against the mighty Russian bear, the American eagle wanted to swoop in and snatch the spoils – an outcome that the Red Army was able to prevent.

Russian leaders and military planners would do well to remember the words of Senator (later to be President) Harry S Truman in 1941:

“If we see that Germany is winning the war, we ought to help Russia; and if that Russia is winning, we ought to help Germany, and in that way let them kill as many as possible…”

    • B.F. on February 13, 2019  ·  at 2:22 pm EST/EDT

      Tom Welsh
The US enterd World War Two in December of 1941, when Stalin brought more than one million men from Manchuria to defend Moscow. It became apparent that Hitler would be defeated. Everybody knew what happened to Napoleon. In 1812 he invades Russia, and in 1814 the Russians end up in Paris. This had to be prevented from happening again. The US provoked Japan into attacking Pearl Harbor by blockading the Japanese coast, which is an act of war, in par with international law.

As for Harry S.Truman, he was a 33 degree free mason. Wall Streets man. The same Wall Street which financed Hitler. What is sad is that the Germans never understood that they were being set up for war with Russia, just like the French did not understand that they too were set up for war with Russia, as both Napoleon and Hitler were proxy fighters, being financed by private bankers. To this date historians never explained where Napoleon found the money for all of his wars, especially for the Russian campaign, nor have historians fully explained how on earth Germany managed to find the money to fight two world wars. History will need to be revised.

      • Alabama on February 14, 2019  ·  at 7:57 am EST/EDT

This is not completely true, in 1803 the U.S. bought the lousiana purchase from France to expand the country, they borrowed money in the form of bonds from the dutch and brits, this money was then used by napolean to ravage europe, he went to far during his quest and lost it all. And historians are not privy to every detail of where country’s obtain their money, they are mostly speculators who go along w/the standard description of events even if the evidence is not based on fact.

  7. PeterP on February 13, 2019  ·  at 12:23 pm EST/EDT

In diplomacy you require mutual respect. The Americans have no self respect, therefore they will not respect you. You might as well talk to a wall!

  8. mike k on February 13, 2019  ·  at 12:50 pm EST/EDT

Bullies are not diplomatic, their communications are only crude threats and bribes. This is the stance of the US. Russia’s sane and balanced behavior makes one ashamed to be an American under ugly buffoons like Trump and his ilk.

    • Mulga Mumblebrain on February 13, 2019  ·  at 10:36 pm EST/EDT

I just watched Pompeo the Blimp on the TV. What an Evil, lying, hypocritical, psychopath he is. He even makes Bolton or Abrams et al look semi-housetrained.

    • David Parker on February 15, 2019  ·  at 10:11 pm EST/EDT

No, under deep state demons that Trump can’t seem to escape appointing to his cabinet positions.
Trump is not one of them, he was a real estate developer, not a destroyer. He liked to build things, they like death and destruction.

  9. Bill Goldman on February 13, 2019  ·  at 1:06 pm EST/EDT

Ambassador Antonov speaks diplomatically in vain. Official US policy is to stir up hostility against Russia and China, especially because of their ability to resist. Neither does the US hide its antagonism towards Iran, Syria, Venezuela and anyone else who argues against US hegemony anywhere in the world. Russia can be tactful, but must also be vigilant against the warmongers. I believe Putin, Lavrov, and Shoigu are trying to strengthen Russian defenses and are prepared to counter aggressively, if need be. As Teddy Roosevelt said. “Speak softly but carry a big stick”.

    • B.F. on February 13, 2019  ·  at 2:28 pm EST/EDT

      Bill Goldman
The elite control the US and they represent less than half of one percent. To them the US is just a place where they live and to which they have no allegiance. Their allegiance is to their money. They will use the US for as long as possible, after which they will depart. If you have been following the Internet, you will have seen that the elite have for years been buying up real estate throughout the world, with New Zealand and Tasmania being top favorites. Repetition of history. Before ancient Rome collapsed, the first to flee were the Roman elite.

The United States is borrowing a page from George Orwell’s 1984 through its use of Two Minute of Hate campaigns.

However, the objects of America’s Two Minutes of Hate can vary….

For the War on Terrorism, the hate object is Islam.

For the New Cold War, the hate object is Russia (and also China).

At base, any nation or group (like Russia, China, Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, or Hizbollah) that stands in the way of American Empire and its New World Order… I mean … Rules Based Order is subject to virulent demonization.

The agenda is to indoctrinate the US masses into supporting America’s attacks on these nations–and also conveniently, divert populist discontent and grievances away from the US capitalist system and towards these foreign objects of hatred.

As Orwell would put it: Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace.

    “Goodwill of Average Americans?”
Don’t believe it. The average American has absolutely no goodwill toward anyone. Most Americans would sell their own mothers or children if push came to shove. There may be a more greedy, self-destructive society (gang) somewhere in the world … but I doubt it.
Americans have no goodwill … as an American, I can attest to that. Americans only think narrowly of themselves.

    • hill hermit on February 14, 2019  ·  at 12:33 pm EST/EDT

What an insight you have provided into the type of person you are.

Americans give more to charity than than any other populace on earth.

All you’ve done is expose yourself.

    • David Parker on February 15, 2019  ·  at 9:42 pm EST/EDT

      Bullshit.
The American way is “Let’s get along.” and “Let’s make a deal.” I don’t personally know more than a few hundred people, but with two exceptions all of us oppose the anti-Christian foreign wars and waste of tax money that advances Satan’s agenda – death and destruction. We know killing babies is murder, we know our tax money should be spent on our roads and bridges, we know that what the media tells us is important is not worthy of any attention at all, we know that money is not paper, etc.
      We know this.
But what can we do to change this situation? If elections could change anything, there wouldn’t be any elections. The federal government has become a national socialist government that rules by terror of police arrest on trumped up charges and home invasions in which people are murdered in cold blood by cops. I believe a significant portion of government attention is directed to understanding just how much abuse we the people will tolerate before we rise up en masse and kill all the cops and armed government agents. So far, the amount of abuse is considerable and very expensive to peoples who are being attacked by the un-American US deep state demons. We are not very confident that our “all volunteer” army – glorified welfare recipients – will stand with us against the government parasites who will order them to kill us.

The U.S. policies are driven by corrupt, incompetent, idiotic, narcissistic psychopaths who are so enamored with themselves, that they will go to any lengths in order to evade accountability and admit any culpability for the eronious policies that they have wedded to, despite overwhelming evidence proving them to be 100% wrong on virtually every policy, both foreign and domestic.

They would prefer to antagonize a nuclear power into attacking U.S. soil so that they can turn their lunatic Russian conspiracy theory into a self-fulfilling profecy, and say, see, we were right all along, but they will be dead, so they won’t be able to say it, and we will be dead too, so we will never even know that we were attacked.

    • Mulga Mumblebrain on February 13, 2019  ·  at 10:40 pm EST/EDT

The Trump regime is dominated by religious’ psychopaths, and Trump’s ‘base’ is also largely religious fundamentalist nut-job haters. These creatures WANT a thermo-nuclear war to bring about the genocidal End Times, when their Evil superstitions believe that most of the planet’s people will be hideously slaughtered, while the hate-crazed zombies are ‘Raptured’ to the presence of their ‘Lord’, who will no doubt be swishing his forked tail about with delight.

There are a couple of disturbing articles I’ve seen lately. And though I’ve known about the issues discussed in them for some time. They are a reminder of how nothing is being done to correct them. The first one (which I saw on The Duran but didn’t save the link to) talked about the US organized regime change organization Optor?, “openly” operating in Serbia (of all places).A group from which we can trace the maidan,Venezuelan coup plotting, and other regime change plotting back to.That Serbia hasn’t bothered to shut them down.Nor that Serbian or Russian patriots haven’t “put them out of business, using other methods”,is shocking indeed.

Another article this time on RT, https://www.rt.com/news/451372-camp-yerevan-protests-us-money/ reports on another US funded “treason school” openly offering seminars to Russian world students.Teaching ways to work to undermine their countries and spread dissent among the young. Are there no intelligence services operating to protect those countries.Did they all disappear with the fall of the USSR. After standing by while the US subverted Ukraine, doing nothing. That they are now allowing open treason to operate “in their face” is more than a problem. It’s incomprehensible.

As per Serbia, I don’t think you get it. ‘Otpor’ brought the governemnt down… ‘they’ shut everyone else down!

There are uncanny coincidences, and then there is a pattern of pathological behavior. You be the judge on Iran Contra scandal perpetrator Elliot Abrahms, now that a CIA affiliated plane has been making daily trips to Venezuela and Columbia, one of the flights was found to have 19 machine guns and massive rounds of ammo on board!

The more things change, the more they remain the same! I can envision Elliot Abrahms playing AC/DC’s Back In The Saddle Again!

Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice, what’s twice?
