SVR RF Press Bureau – September 16, 2020
(Italics and bolding added for emphasis.)
The Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, Sergey Naryshkin stated:
“The events in Belarus show clearly visible Western traces. The protest actions from the very beginning carry a well organized character and is coordinated from abroad.
It’s remarkable that the West began preparing the protests long before the elections. In 2019 – early 2020 alone, the United States allocated about $20 million through various NGOs to organize anti-government protests. This money was used to form a network of ‘independent bloggers’ and informational accounts in social networks, to prepare activists for street actions. The most promising of them were trained abroad, in particular in Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine, where they were trained by experienced American instructors in ‘non-violent protest’.
According to information available to the SVR, the United States plays a key role in the current events in Belarus. Although Washington is trying to stay ‘in the shadows’ in the public space, after the start of mass street protests, the Americans have multiplied their funding of Belarusian anti-government forces. Its volumes are estimated in tens of millions of dollars. The United States has taken under close guardianship the former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and other opposition activists who are being promoted as ‘people’s leaders’ and future leaders of ‘democratic Belarus’.
In our contacts with European allies, Washington insists on the need to increase pressure on Minsk to induce the legitimate leadership of Belarus to launch a dialogue with the so-called Coordination Council on the ‘transfer of power’. In fact, we are talking about a poorly veiled attempt to organize another ‘color revolution’ and an anti-constitutional coup, the goals and objectives of which have nothing to do with the interests of Belarusian citizens.”

“Chaos Theory and Strategic Thought
…
With this ideological virus as our weapon, the United States should move to the ultimate biological warfare and decide, as its basic national security strategy, to infect target populations with the ideologies of democratic pluralism and respect for individual human rights. With a strong American commitment, enhanced by advances in communications and increasing ease of global travel, the virus will be self-replicating and will spread in nicely chaotic ways. Our national security, therefore, will be best assured if we devote our efforts to winning the minds of countries and cultures that are at variance with ours. This is the sole way to build a world order that is of long duration (though, as we have seen, it can never achieve absolute permanence) and globally beneficial. If we do not achieve this ideological change throughout the world, we will be left with only sporadic periods of calm between catastrophic reorderings.
A tangible implication of this analysis is a sharp increase in support for the United States Information Agency, the National Endowment for Democracy, and the numerous private-sector exchange and educational programs. This programs lie at heart of an aggressive national security strategy.”

Someone has came up with an excellently descriptive phrase – “masturbatory pleasures”, which I will borrow to describe the “grant ideas” of all these “experts” that you have listed! Just ignore..
Thank you, Katerina. I believe that you’re referring to my judgment that masturbatory fantasies are pleasant to boost one’s ego a propos the preposterous names the Zionazis apply as part of their warfare and lawfare. As you very aptly wrote: each one with more ferocious name than the last, LOL.

In July we had an attempt at a color revolution in Serbia, where liberals, backed by NGO’s, started a riot in front of the Serbian Parliament. The riot was a pathetic failure. Football hooligans were used, backed by teenagers. After a couple of days the teenagers backed off, as they realized they were being used as stooges. The riot collapsed, and has now been forgotten.
Failing in Serbia, Western NGO’s and their government sponsors turned to Belarus. Again Soros style methods were used, a minority representing the majority. If you look carefully at the reporting of these demonstrations in Minsk, you will see photographic machinations. Photographs are taken from the air, showing “mass” demonstrations. Yes, “mass” demonstrations in one boulevard. The Western media forgets to mention that almost five million people voted in Belarus. How many of them are demonstrating ? Did the Western media cover pro-Lukashnko demonstrations ? As for Western governments, they are demanding that Lukashenko begin negotiations with the opposition “Council” on the transition of power !!! Indeed. The Venezuelan scenario is being applied. The West, headed by the US and EU, obviously needs a little Guaido in Minsk who will take the country into NATO, so that NATO can place missiles right next to the Russian border and subsequently give Russia an ultimatum: surrender or perish. As the late political economist Lyndon LaRouche stated, the only thing which can save the US dollar is the break up of Russia and the plunder of Siberia and the Caspian region. This explains the animosity of the US Deep state against Russia. Time is not working for the Deep State and the artificial dollar, printed in huge amounts and backed by nothing.
While the Western sponsored demonstrations were going on in Belarus, Western centers of power and intelligence agencies came to the bright idea of having these demonstrations spread over into neighboring Russia. A catalyst was needed. This came with the Novichok “attack” against Navalny, who was treated in a Russian hospital and then theatrically flown to Germany, where a German military lab ascertained that he was “poisoned” with the Novichok military nerve agent. Perhaps Germany would care to explain how Navalny, like the Scripals, managed to survive an “attack” where military nerve gas was used (the Novichok military nerve gas was developed years ago and it’s formula is well known in the West, especially since one of the scientists who developed it is living in the US). The mere fact that Navalny did survive is proof that military nerve gas was not used, which would indeed have been a very foolish thing to do. Just to remind readers that the “attack” against the Scripals in England occurred prior to the presidential elections in Russia, an obvious attempt to discredit Vladimir Putin. They also occurred prior to the World Cup in Russia, an obvious attempt to have the World Cup cancelled. Both attempt’s failed. The World Cup was a spectacular success for Russia, boosting it’s image, much to the astonishment of Western centers of power, who no doubt are now frustrated that demonstrations in Belarus did not spread over to Russia. That was a severe case of wishful thinking, especially if you take into account that the West used their puppet, Navalny, for the task. They forgot that Navalny is a blogger first and two bit “politician” second. The last time he tried mass demonstrations in Moscow, he could not even fill half a football stadium in a city of 14 million people.
And the end result ? The West failed with a color revolution in Serbia, and it failed yet again with a color revolution in Russia. It partially succeeded with demonstrations in Belarus, but not with a color revolution. Lukashenko will survive this attack against his Presidency, especially since current demonstrations are beginning to abate.
@B.F.

What happened in Serbia this year was not a color revolution attempt, but a Serbian insurrection Montenegro-style to get rid of a pro-western weakling. The west does not have to trigger a color revolution because everything in Serbia is already in hands of pro western traitors and NGOs, and they have a president who is more than willing to sign off Kosovo; Israel is hesitant to recognize Kosovo but has to because Serbia signed the agreement with Trump to have Kosovo recognized by Israel. Bosnia’s stability is being threatened by warmonger Izetbegovic and his western backers. The president of Republic of Serpska Dodik had asked Datyon guarantor Serbia for protection if the situation gets out of hand there, of course Vucic failed to give Dodik reassurances.
dave
Since I live in Belgrade, then I have a bigger grasp of what is happening, especially since I am an eye witness. Those riots before the Serbian Parliament were not an insurrection Montenegro style, but rather an attempt by liberals to grab power, Guaido style. The attempt failed. In just three months we had attempts at color revolutions in Serbia and Belarus, and also in Russia with that Navalny black comedy. Now don’t tell me this happened by “accident”. Somebody in the West was playing the “philosopher”, hoping to have a “summer of discontent”, if I may steal and reshape Shakespear’s phrase.
“… Those riots before the Serbian Parliament were … an attempt by liberals to grab power, Guaido style. …”
:-)
So, Vucic is now hiding behind “colour revolutions” & Guaido :-)
Nice try.

“Nice try” at what ? “So, Vucic is now hiding behind “colour revolutions” & Guaido” (?). Your comment makes no sense. Maybe you can explain why the population of Belgrade did not join the rioters.

”The most promising of them were trained abroad, in particular in Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine, where they were trained by experienced American instructors in ‘non-violent protest’.”
Small wonder Belarus has prevailed. National leadership is everything. Excellent resolve by Lukashenko, the Belarusian KGB, and Putin. The most ’promising’ scum and their ditto instructors read like a who’s who in the world’s list of most incompetent, stupid, and ugly actors. Maybe the Axis of Kindness should consider tossing in some committed Hindutva fellows here. At least that would appreciably boost the sheer numbers of the ’progressive’ forces.
@ Nussiminen
Yes. He has been criticised by some for being – perhaps, I dont know personally – dictatorial; maybe he outstayed his time somewhat. But given how the Empire and it’s vassals has been attacking without cease all the border lands to Russia, perhaps it’s as well it was Lukashenko who was standing firm and telling them where to “get off”.
Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, the Northern Pacific – the dirty bootprint is over them all.
Yes, he liked to play games with them and Russia, but still – I can’t help wondering if he was, in fact, exactly what was needed to hold them at bay while Russia grew strong.
@Pamela
Your conclusion ”I can’t help wondering if he was, in fact, exactly what was needed to hold them at bay while Russia grew strong” is 100% correct, and is beautifully corroborated by today’s MSM submission on the subject where, of course, one should duly be guarding against their gratuitous exaggeratons/inventions (Swedish teletext):
Nice ’feminist’ touch there. Could that be Svetlana Tichanovskaya masterminding the protest herself or in cooperation with her Western handlers? One strange thing with the above piece of news is the neutral wording ’President’ instead of ’regime’/’dictatorship’.
Keep your enemies close revoking navalny citizenship will give the west moral authority which is not good for optics.
“What the hell is wrong with Russia and the Russians????”
There is nothing wrong with them Hoyeru. There is something very very right though!. They follow the law.
There is NO law in Russia under which anyone can revoke any Russian’s citizenship., Would you have them behave like dictators, like a certain other Empire Regime?
Moreover, Navalny is a nobody, a nothing, not even the irritant of a mosquito. Woudl you let such a nobody dictate to you how you behave?
Russia and the Russians are behaving according to who they are and know themselves to be: a people and Rulership who obey their laws and ignore those who are free to express an opinion which they find obnoxious. And ignore him they largely do. Perhaps we should do the same, n’est pas??
Pamela you have nailed it again!
Navalny is useful to Putin a totally incompetent and politically powerless “leader” of the liberal Quisling EUloving yuppie class. Getting rid of Navalny, who is a personally despicable character (a racist to boot) would be a terrible error for Putin. It might allow someone genuinely able and popular to arise in his place. In other words if Navalny had not existed Putin would have had to invent him.
A counterpart to Navalny in India would be Rahul Gandhi, the so called politician who is the dynastic heir of the Congress party despite specialising only in losing elections just about anyone else would have won. More than anything else, Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia are responsible for keeping the gibbering globetrotting genocidal Gujarati gangster government of Narendrabhai Damodardasbhai Modi in power. Even a coterie of thinking individuals in Gandhi’s own party rebelled recently but were smacked down. Such a shambolic mess can never unseat the Narendrabhai Damodardasbhai Modi regime, and the welfare of the Gandhi dynasty is probably something the Modi dispensation every night devoutly prays for.
”What the hell is wrong with Russia and the Russians????
Yeah, imagine — Putin poisoning Navalny with Novichok and expecting that to go unnoticed /sarc off/.
On a more serious note: Navalny is a Nazi gadfly. Totally disposable garbage, especially in Russia. Maybe he could qualify as Russia’s Juan Guano. A minuscule piece of dung, certainly.
Thus techno-fascism operates beyond political parties, beyond borders to secure its position. This below is their

What this public statement by Naryshkin implies is the SVR could document in detail, names, dates, dollars and movement, meetings and logistical organization of the color revolution launched against Belarus.
The Russians amass whole archives of documentation. This is why the West never wants the Russians in on investigations of disasters, poisonings, assassinations, attempted use of WMDs, or the facts of illegal arms and human trafficking, movement of drugs across borders, etc. The Russians deal in facts and evidence.
Naryshkin is calling out his counterparts in the CIA and Mi6, the Poles and Lithuanians special services and the Ukies SBU. The Russians have the evidence. And those clowns know it.
Yes they are definitely sending a message.
Although USD 20 M is not a lot of money for a colour revolution. The rent-a-mob in Ukraine cost the US several billion.
Maybe there were several instalments paid by several different countries..(they only mention one payment from US)

One can only print so much of Mickey Mouse $$ before the bubble bursts, so they were obviously trying to pull this one in Belorussia on the cheap!
Lukashenko made one monumental mistake – allowed US “embassy” back in Minsk and as we all know the “Land of imbecils” doesn’t have any diplomats.. : )
”/…/ as we all know the ’Land of imbeciles’ doesn’t have any diplomats”
Maybe that’s exactly what explains Lukashenko’s decision: A gathering point for hostile, vulgar, flat-out American imbeciles would serve the purpose of handsomely tracking down the Belarusian 5th column. Flies take to excrement, after all.
How does a so called authoritarian government allow Western NGO’s to freely operate in its country ?
Am I missing something here…..or is Mr. Lukashenko not the brightest bulb in the box ?
Lukashenko is dealing splendidly with the problem of Zionazi destabilisation. With Russia and Putin backing him up, the sods are facing a total rout. This piece of news came in just a few hours ago:
Let them continue the nonsense and the entire ”opposition” will very soon have left Belarus or else will be serving prison sentences — passing for ’dissidents’ in Western parlance, of course. This is what should have been done in Kiev as well, but Yanukovich proved unequal to the task.
For information:
Cassad has a lengthy analysis of the perspective on Belyrus situation as well as a couple of articles with photos of todays march with arrests:
https://colonelcassad.livejournal.com/
His analysis and commentary with photos is usually, in general, spot on. Of course, in Russia.
I totally agree, Taras 77.. The Colonel has been all over this saga from the beginning, with sources and photos which places him second to none.. The commentariat is a hoot as well..
You raise a very good point here… i have wondered about this for many a year….i would describe Lukaschenko as a good leader but street smart rather than intelligent.
Good leader in the sense that under his guard, he has built up a successful economy. i know this directly through my own profession. He developed the agricultural produce sector extremely well – particularly through developing links with Western European governments. Talk about selling refrigerators to Eskimos – Byelorussian cheese such as Brie, Cheddar types etc is a match for any from EU markets and lower in cost, hence why EU supermarkets are keen…but that low price has not helped to build up the State Coffers enough…
Street smart in the sense that he has a naive side to himself, where he really did not see that by entering innocent but successful trading agreements with the EU, he would be subject to the latters psychopathic ensnarement tactics of aiming ultimately to have a direct political influence. So he really did not see the danger in allowing the NGOs to enter Byelorussia…
“The absence of understanding of context” has been his undoing – he tried to be another Erdogan, playing off the loyalty towards Russia and EU to see if he could get something for nothing from each…This tactic has backfired on him but hes doing OK…Putin can hold off further external interference and Lukashenko has more than likely learnt his lesson and is now cleaning up inside Byelorussia… I mean, if the western Media is right, He Eats Babies doesnt he? so heaven forbid what he would do to an NGO squirt that double crossed him…..so he will prevail….(with Putins intellect giving him some useful tips).
Lukashenko does actually not need the links to the EU at all – a complete switch to only doing business with Russia and China would be more than adequate response….including closing down all NGOs including the Animal Welfare orgs which allow western intelligence agents to enter on a visa application as a dog rescue officer… That would stop the Byelorussian white collar workers from aspiring to stronger links with the EU…
to Analyst
Lukashenko started out as a manager of the farm collective. That side he knows well, geopolitics.. not so much.
Belorussian economy was largely supported by Russia – selling him cheap oil and gas, which he in turn was converting into products and selling those to the West – was very lucrative for him. When Russia did not see any effort from him to consolidate the signed Union Agreement, that price for carbon stopped being brotherly and became a market price. He threw a tantrum! Unfortunately, he had to learn a lesson that things in relationships only work BOTH ways. Before the elections, his behaviour towards Russia and Russian President was appalling, thinking that he is back in the “good books” with the West. This was for him a very harsh reality check, now he is eating his humble pie and will be doing everything VVP expects, something that he should have done long before. And when time is right he will be replaced, not by the West, by Russia.
Thank you for your wider explanation Katerina> How do you see the situation develop with the “protestors” ? Can they be reasoned with, that their own aspirations to reach EU standard of living levels, are unrealistic and unaffordable? How can their poisoned minds be re-educated? If there have been mass arrests, how has Lukashenko dealt with such protestors in the past? Are there any signs that the foreign NGOS are now finally being throttled?
To Analyst
Why do you assume that most Belorussians are aspiring to “reach EU standard of living levels, which are unrealistic and unaffordable”? How patronising!
Minsk is a city with population of over 1million, these numbers of “protestors” were as usual, totally and grossly over- represented by western media for, of course, the usual purposes – basically their “colour revolution playbook” was being played here page by page. The number of people coming out on the streets to demonstrate are miniscule in comparisson, Lukashenko, after the initial shock that the West could do THAT to him after all his efforts to be so good to these Western partners, has regained composure and full control – those “protesters” are now being rounded up and arrested. Lots of them are paid agitators. As I said, per usual.. And if we are spared the apperance of some “unknown snapers” or some headless body “discoved in the woods” and of course “killed on order by Lukashenko!”, we should see the end of this depressing circus. You have read this Russian Foreign Intelligence statement on the situation in Belarus – what does that tell you? To me, it clearly states that all those external players are known and are being closely watched. Russia apparently had also sent quite a few “helpers” to Lukashenko to restore order and control by the legitimate government. This is West’s another failed “colour revolution” attempt and with each one, these failures become more and more grotesque for them..
Thank you for your response and explanation.
My comment about EU standard of living levels was perhaps unfortunate and not meant to be patronising. One of the comments made by protestors has been that they “aspire to have all the benefits that accrue to being part of the EU including the standard of living and lifestyle (which they appear not to have in Belarus).” i specifically use quotation marks as this is what the media reports.
Two issues maybe confuse the picture here: the UK media reported heavily on “the fact” that “when the tech-savvy byelorussian entrepreneurs see the lifestyle of their counterparts in the EU, they get frustrated by all the restrictions placed on them in Belarus and that these are the ones out on the streets”…. My own immediate thought on this was that the dollar transaction value might lead to this conclusion? when in Purchasing Power Parity terms, byelorussians are generally doing well and should be content with what they have achieved? From this perspective then, the byelorussian economy cannot achieve the same per capita income in dollar value terms as the EU markets. This is not being patronising but a mathematical reality decided by exchange rate mechanisms, like when i earn an income in London, i can easily afford to send funds to my current Ukrainian gf as for her, the Sterling value i send over, translates directly into 5x the purchasing power when she spends it in Hrvina, allowing her to have a comfortable life compared to how she would fare if she had work locally. Thus, the PPP of the local currency that she has available, is equivalent in buying power, to what i can spend in the London economy with my own UK sourced income.
or maybe the following narrative fits better > “when a naive byelorussion protestor sees someone from a foreign NGO handing out dollar notes like confetti, he is easily enticed?” – which is the narrative of all the color revolutions we have experienced around the globe…
As for the issue about the number/share of the population that is out protesting, the UK media presents the situation as if the majority are out on the streets – whilst i am indeed aware from my own business contacts within Byelorussia that the silent majority definitely support Lukashenko. My question really is a philosophical one as to how to re-educate the protestors to behave and accept that if they have grievances about their living standards they must stick to legitimate measures now and in future….
(my ex-East German GF states that in the good old days of the GDR, the protestors would have been beaten to within an inch of their lives and dumped in the street. She had then, a far more comfortable life than what she faced post-1990 and whilst she suffered psychological abuse, all the same, she had access to far better healthcare than post -1990).
I continue to hope that Lukashenko throttles all the EU and US based NGOs. it is of course, the external influence that agitates the internal protests. The UK media likes to portray the reverse – that it is the internal protests which cry out desperately for help from outside.
Thanks again for your feisty response.
To Analyst,
My dear, please stop reading or listening to Western so-called media – it will damage your “little grey cells”, i.e. will interfere with your brains.
I have stopped doing that long ago and that is the main reason I can still make some intelligent analyses. I believe you are German, very capable and intelligent race, (I know that as we have German neighbours who are also our very close friends), so please don’t get influenced by something that should be roundly ignored.
Good luck with your slavic GF – you are on a winner there! My husband would confirm that! : )
I was actually playing “Devils Advocate” and certainly do not believe the narratives of the western media. Im Swiss with Swabian roots but that alone would not protect me from the influence of the media here, IF i were susceptible !
Having traveled extensively on business across Eastern Europe since 1990, it certainly helped me to gain more comparative insights.
My “pure” German friends, some of whom are of the 1968 generation and protested alongside Daniel Cohn Bendit , are today so totally brainwashed by the Globalists, that i do wonder how to get them back into the real world…
Oh you are so right about “my slavic GF”…. an absolute jewel….;oD
If the Belorussians fall for this scam, they will join some of their Ukrainian brothers and sisters cleaning western toilets.

Since from the beginning of was obvious that it was a colour revolution, it begs the question of why Putin did nothing and allowed the situation to escalate. If Lukashenko had not been tough and obdurate unlike Yanukovych, Russia would have had another Ukranazi coup regime on its doorstep. I have an explanation, of course, but it won’t go down well with the knee jerk pro Putin commentariat, at all.
> why Putin did nothing and allowed the situation to escalate.
Maybe because Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is the president of the Russian Federation, and not of the Republic of Belarus ? Each nation, each people, country and leadership has a duty towards themselves first.
It was and is up to Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko, and to no one else, to act as president of Belarus.
Some people wonder sometimes why Russia acted differently towards Libya and Syria, Ukraine and Belarus (or Venezuela).
But while it would of course be beneficial to Russia (and the World as a whole for that matter) to have evil plan fails; the truth is that it is not possible to help someone that dooms himself.
There is a saying going as “Help you yourself, only then will God help you”.
The meaning of that is that will and resolve are key.
Syria, for example proved able to resist and fight back, proved that the syrian nation has the will to fight and win, proved that they will not surrender. Proved that helping them won’t be in vain. So they were and are helped.
Same for Venezuela and Belarus.
On the other side, what happened in Libya ? It was the libyan authorities that got ride of their anti-aerial weapons, thus allowing, the aerial incursion from NATO. And compare the number of high officials and diploamts that switched sides early on, to the relatively small amount that did the same in Syria.
Helping Libya would have been in vain, it would have been doing all the work on behalf of them; experiences of the past teach us that it doesn’t give good results.
And what happened in Ukraine ? The authorities committed treason or surrender at a mass scale, only local common citizens resisted, with various degrees of success.
And there where the citizen resistance has been strong, with enough will and success, there help came.
But it was and is to the locals to initiate it first, and hold it long and strong enough to be worth of external help.
The ones that hoped that russian tanks would come to fight the evils on their behalf are now living under nazi rule; the ones that fight themselves, and paid a high price, are now living under self-rule.
It is not Russia that permitted the banderism to flourish in Ukraine, it is the Ukrainians themselves.
And the level at which it was permitted, condoned or fought, was different among the regions.
And very telling that in Krim, where the falsification of history and self-denigrement was strongly refused had been the region most inmunized to the evil, and the one that had been able to get rid of it at lowest cost.
Some may think that the presence of the Russian black sea fleet was the reason Krim is now out of banderastan; but that’s not true.
Had a legitimate Ukrainian government just not renewed the agreement to permit russian navy, Russia would have withdrawn; actually preparations were ongoing for that, and Russia was building/improving bases at other cities.
What changed everything was the stupidity of the Empire that broke tha law, thus opening a door allowing Russia to act in that power vacuum. And the very strong stance and action of the local population.
And by strong stance and action I am not talking about the referendum; even if that’s important, it only show the wishes of the population; but wishes are not enough, action is necessary. Freedom is not asked for, it is fought for.
In Belaruss also, 80% of the people expressed their wish to continue their quite successful path; but the lack of action the first days had very dire and dangerous consequences, and the risk to have the view of a 10%, but acting, minority, imposed on the wishes of a 80%, but passive, majority, was a real risk, until popular mobilisations began.
As I said about the knee jerk Putinists, they’ll excuse anything, find an “explanation” for why Putin would create a strategic disaster for Russia, in fact anything at all. There is no way to interact logically with them.
Biswapriya, as long as Putin and Russia keep delivering I am satisfied. You should be more careful what you wish for lest you end up like a typical Western ’progressive’ to whom setbacks and defeats for imperialism become a source of grudge and disbelief while setbacks and defeats for anti-imperialist resistance are welcomed. This ugly mindset was at the heart of the hemorrhage here about Belarus one month ago. Belarus just like Syria, Iran, Venezuela can do without Western ’progressives’ but not without Russia and China.
Well, I’m a “knee-jerk Putinist” Biswa. Guilty as charged.
Perhaps you can help me and the gang of KJP here by spelling out how “Putin would create a strategic disaster for Russia” (presumably in Belarus). That way we’ll be able to “interact logically” with you.
We’re not making excuses for Putin, bhai. We’re presenting arguments as to why he’s doing the right thing. We could be wrong. Now present your arguments, preferably slightly better developed than the general statements you’ve made so far. Dhanyavaad.
There is still no proof provided of alledged election fraud…..must check out the leaders presentation at UN re human rights……
Pavlo I would agree with you on most what you have said, except re: Crimea. “Had a legitimate Ukrainian government just not renewed the agreement to permit russian navy, Russia would have withdrawn; actually preparation were ongoing for that, and Russia was building/improving bases at other cities” – that is absolutely and totally incorrect. From where did you get that idea? For a start Ukraine, that is it’s LEGITIMATE government, would not have had any authority to dictate any terms to Russia with regard to it’s Naval Base; the arrangement was that Crimea will stay as part of Ukraine for time being with Russia paying some “rent” for the base, if you like, Sevastopol remained under complete Russian control and the base itself was not even up for any discussions. So-called “renewal”, purely as part of any such agreements, in this case was completely pre-determined. Please get some facts right before making statements like that. The rest is spot on. Thank you.

I happened to have listened to an interview the late Prof Stephen Cohen gave to Larry King on RT some time ago about his views on the situation in the Ukraine, after reading news about his death at the RT site.
In the interview, Cohen said something interesting about VV Putin’s mindset, to wit, “the Russian state collapsed twice in the 20th century; once after the Russian Revolution and again after the collapse of the Soviet Union. When Putin came to power he was determined not to see it collapse a third time. If you don’t understand that about Putin you won’t understand Russia. To them [Russia], Ukraine represents an existential threat, not just a geopolitical play as seen in the West.”
I reckon the same view applies to Belarus, perhaps even more so. Now, I’ve not read any press statement by the the SVR before this to be honest, but this statement strikes me as being quite blunt and uncompromising. I can only guess at the tone of the message passed through back channels but one thing is certain: it won’t be friendly.
This missive is quite extraordinary — it names names (for their own sake, pay attention Poland, Lithuania and the Ukraine; the Bear is growling and I don’t think you’ll like it when it gets angry), lists the main actors and actress, and is not shy of laying bare the true object of the demos in Belarus. It also shows RF can read the AZEmpire’s entire playbook in eastern Europe ….well, like a book. And come to think of it, in light of the late Cohen’s words about VVP and Russia, I think not just the West but the whole world should pay attention also.

You forget Germany, it is Germany that is expanding to the east swallowing countries in their 4th Reich (EU). Germany is the political/economical wing in Europe, USA is the military wing (NATO) giving military backing to German expansion to the east. Don’t blame jews for this, this is a Nazi thing, all former Nazi collaborators anxious to join the 4th Reich.
Dave: “4th Reich” Germany
Just a minor semantic point: not generally accepted but very distinct political periods:
3rd Reich: collapsed in 1945
4th Reich: from Adenauer to Kohls nov 1989 re-unification.
Under this Reich, the GDR had favoured status as a de-facto backdoor partner of the EU…a pure economic relationship and no NATO troops on GDR soil.
5th Reich: Reunified Germany with the Faux-Ossie Mutti-Merkel
Germany accepted NATO troops moving right to the Polish border.
It is Merkel who has openly stated that “Germany will prevail against Russia”
I agree totally that the Jackboot of Germany has a very strong footprint in Belarus.
A good example of the Banality of Evil…it is all done in the name of “Human Rights”
Goebbels would be so proud of Merkel…
Hoyeru: “Same with Navalny, Revoke his citizenship and let him stay in Germany if merkel moves him so much”
No,
Saying from my country; ‘its better to have him inside the tent pissing out – than outside the tent pissing in!’
(Forgive the vernacular)

An explanation of soviet intelligence 3D chess
”
According to Popov, intelligence work is often compared with chess, but is really more complex. “I think the chess comparison is an inaccurate one, because chess is limited by the board, and all of the pieces have strict rules when it comes to how they can be moved. In intelligence work, there is no board or rules for the ‘pieces’…Drozdov played real life, operational chess, which was unpredictable for the opponent.”
