Hi,
I remember there used to be a long list of recommended blogs you used to have on the side of blog page? Where is it?
Thanks,
@Anonymous: it used to be there, true. I ditched it. I just could not decide which I could recommend 100%, which 80% and which only 60%. And quite a few of them also stopped being active. So I don’t want to keep a blogroll anymore. Sorry about that!

Saker, are you familiar with this blog?

It only has about one post a month but it’s always good to excellent. I haven’t read September’s post yet, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.
@Lysander:Saker, are you familiar with this blog?
No, and it looks interesting, so thanks for the link. However, in the “about us” page I noticed the following sentence: ” we should all thank God that Russia has risen from its ashes and is today seeking to reestablish itself as a global superpower”. Here I would respectfully disagree on two grounds:
a) Factual: I really sincerely and deeply believe that becoming a global superpower is not the project of Putin and what I call the “Eurasian Sovereignists” (Rogozin, Glaziev, Shoigu, Gerasimov, etc.).
b) Ideological: I also would not welcome Russia reestablishing itself as a global superpower. God forbid!
Russia had it’s share of being an “global superpower” (aka an *Empire*) and all this brought Russia is misery, violence and suffering. What I think Putin, the “Eurasian Sovereignists” and myself want is Russia as a strong and truly sovereign country surrounded by friendly nations, but a *regular* country nontheless. I do not want to see Russia fighting for anything but in self-defense or defense of *real* allies (no more of this unilateral “protector of Orthodoxy”). I don’t want Russia to be a “global anti-USA” or a global-cop. I don’t want to see Russian intellligence officers getting involved with one side against the other in every conflict on the planet. In other words, I don’t want Russia to become the next USA. And I also hope, and believe, that the Chinese also have no desire for that either.
My sincere hope is that we can finally ditch these bloody Empires which bring misery to the entire planet and to themselves!
This being said, I also am a big supporter of Armenia and of the growing Russian-Armenian alliance (they just announced that Armenia want to join the common economic realm if I am not mistaken). So maybe its the choice of words I object to rather than the idea behind the blog.
It’s nice to see that the blogosphere is becomig populated by blogs friendly to Russia. It sure is a change :-)
Cheers,
The Saker
