The good news is that a lot of you have asked to join. The bad news is that I am a dodo-brain and that I did complicate things unnecessarily. So here is what Fedor and I have decided:
First, all those who want to subscribe need to send an email to Fedor with your Telegram name/handle; that means that you need to sign up to Telegram first and get a handle.
Next, Fedor will sign up EVERYBODY who asks for it. There will be no vetting at sign-up. HOWEVER, I will also have the right to expel anybody and, believe me, I will, mercilessly and after only 1 warning (in bad cases, without any warning).
Pleased remember that your handle will be something like @yourname or @yourhandle.
I am in a “bellicose” mood towards the trolls, see here, and this mood is even stronger towards the Telegram channel. So I will have my finger on the proverbial “trigger” :-)
Next, I STILL ask you to introduce yourselves to me, but please do that by sending an email to me to my vineyardsaker@gmail.com email address and please place “Telegram intro” in the subject line.
Please, if you have not done so already, do not forget to send your admission request to Fedor at Sakertelegram@protonmail.com
No, I will not reject anybody just on the basis of this intro or if you fail to send me one, but I would much prefer if you did.
Those who already sent their email to Fedor, just resend the same one to me.
Once you are signed on, please feel free to talk on the channel as soon as you want.

1 : Email me to Sakertelegram@protonmail.com with you Telegram handle/@username (you can find and choose it in the Telegram settings, under your phone number, Username). This is what i need to let you in.

For somebody trying to keep up a level of understanding geo-politics to at least not be lead like a slave to a well timed grave, I do visit the Saker blog for a welcome pause from the mind numbing propaganda parroting madness of local and other main stream media.
Not sure if my intuitive observations would be adding much feed for discussion because I feel every time I conclude that I may have something to say or add under an article, somebody smarter and more articulate touches the exact subject an nuance in the comments area…
hence the relief and peace of mind this blog can offer.

I was considering applying for a favor of following the Telegram address.
And I won’t: the Google address being a red flag in my mind.

Please consider dropping this in favor of indeed the Proton mail or secure equivalent.
Proton just doubled their inbox capacity for paying members.
I know paying, there goes another delicious meal of whole food for the family, but there is nothing free in anything Google in the long run, on the contrary.

Not yet signed up for Telegram so not sure how this works but if it is like whatsapp then everyone will know your phone number…??

No this is not like whatsapp, there is much more privacy settings.
This is why i ask a Telegram username for the registration, because if you leave your Telegram account without username, just with your phone number, then depending of your privacy settings, people of the groups you join might see your phone number. With a username, they will just see your username.
By the way, regarding the security of your telegram account, I also advise everyone to implement the two-step verification.
Go in the settings of your account / Privacy and Security / Two-step Verification.
Plus :
In the settings / Privacy an Security / Phone number / who can see my phone number / select “Nobody”.

It is possible that the app itself (not necessarily the messages it carries) allows an external hacker access to your device. In particular, I am suspicious of the web-based version.
I am concerned with security. It has slowed me down with joining and installing “telegram”. Here is a link to some of my concerns. Because the Saker supports EFF, Copy Left, and for me most importantly the Free Software Foundation, I hope my concerns will not be considered frivolous.
