Dear friends,
I wish every day had 36 or 48 hours. Alas, my days are limited by a puny 24 hours into which I have to squeeze everything, I am failing at that. So I decided to try to ask for your help with the hope that sombody might be interested in doing research for me. Here is the kind of person and skill set I am looking for:
I need somebody who can read English and Russian whom I could ask to look for articles on specific topics on the Internet. What would be most useful for me it to get a daily bullet-style report on facts and events in the Ukraine with links pointing to the source. Something like this:
Ukraine economy shrinks 14.8% year-on-year. source: http://www.ft.com/fastft/296193/ukraine-economy-shrinks-14.8-year-on-year
Украина: гривна обвалилась – магазинные полки опустели. Source: http://www.ft.com/fastft/296193/ukraine-economy-shrinks-14.8-year-on-year
That is just an example, of course.
The second example would be to do some targeted research to reply to a question. For example: “please find out what Rihat Akhmetov has declared about Kolomoiskii in the past 48 hours” or “please research the general leanings of the Malaysian press about MH17 – does it mostly blame Russia or the Ukraine?“.
This kind of research requires not only a good understanding of Russian and English, but also a good understanding of Russian and Ukrainian issues, including economic, political, security and military issues. You also need to be minimally computer-literate.
If you are interested in this offer, please drop me an email at either vineyardsaker@gmail.com or thesaker@unseen.is
Many thanks and kind regards,
The Saker
Blog housekeeping: re: World Russia Forum in Washington DC tomorrow . Charles Bausman of RI will present a topic on alternate media and these are his subjects:

research funding would also help…………..any grant giving bodies available-suitable…………..????
kick starter things probably not suitable…….tie into a russian political university possible, a graduate volunteer/work ‘placement’ ‘experience” type thing???
Advertise on truth Ukraine/Donbass /fortruss/sputnik type places????
Could a Saker commentator offer an endowment fund of some kind-sponsorship money would go a long way in east ukraine……..good luck
No no no don’t tie into anything.
You need a research team (or volunteer institute), with some specialization of members in different areas, and a team manager, and maybe assistant or two, to recruit and coordinate them. You also need little blogs, groups, mailing lists, or something, so that when researching a topic the army of readers can be aware of it and be on the lookout to forward along links and references they come across to those who are gathering info on that topic. There is just WAY too much going on and to keep track of for 1 or 2 people to stay on top of it.
This is the sort of project which is overwhelming unless you have a bunch of organized people working on it with distributed work and responsibility. It can start small and grow, of course.
Look at some of the LInux sites, or the message board at http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/forum.php , and see how things are broken up into topics and subtopics, with various experts and contributors in the different areas.
Possible areas for instance:
False flags
MH17
9/11
etc.
Military buildups
US
NATO
Russia
Ukraine
each with troop movements, budgets, new and weapons, etc. for each area
Politics….
Economy…
Propaganda
Just putting together a structure to cover it is a bit of work.
But it can be done fairly easily if many chip in.
Not right away, of course, but we should be looking towards that direction and trying to set up some basic path to get there eventually — like a tree grows, with a single root and shoot, and then growing and branching out, perhaps.
This is exactly the working model I envision for the future (which is now!) A group with secondary groups (each group creating their own sub-groups if needed.)
I really wish I could be useful, but alas — not yet, at least not when it comes to speaking russian, I am just in my first year of studies….
Aside from what I already do in a small scale at home, I would certanly want to join a research group if I could be of any use.
Is there any way we can create working groups within the framework of this blogsite? We could join in small groups and choose a special subject, (as Blue suggested) and gather all information we can find, and exchange info, and do some “brainstorming” to find creative soulutions to expand both the research and the spreading of info…..
Very good ideas.
It also occurs to me that a lot of informative links are posted to threads on this blog. Perhaps part of the research effort can be to make sure those links are swept into a subject-based archive of some kind. Or even, just a list. Sometimes compartmentalizing things too much has the same effect as filing an item away somewhere and then not recalling where it was filed. In that case, better to pile, not file.
Katherine
If we could tag the links, we can create our own “google”-list of articles contributed by the Saker commentators.. The “research groups” can then search for articles in the list to create analyses.
I second your comment, Karin. I think The Saker is being a little ‘ambitious’ ;) in hoping to find ONE individual who can cover all bases: a group would be far more effective and do-able.
Meanwhile, I think regular contributors can help by doing a trawl through the net and posting links useful/relevant to discussion. I try to ‘bring something to the table’ this way.
Re archiving links: good, but they need to be catalogued. It shouldn’t exclude embedding the links in commentary: relevance is enhanced this way.
Nothing wrong with the odd ‘joke’ either – the times is grim, and we need some occasional light relief..:)
Since ‘anonymous’ keeps appearing in the name box ..eimar
If the items are tagged, even if dumped into a huge list of things, it’s easy enough to set up a search engine, or a database, to find relevant items. So if you wanted Kolomoisky and military and cost you could plug in those search parameters and find all the references to any of those, or all of those, and find those articles that said how much he pays for his private army, for instance.
A search engine that works and doesn’t bury things that the PTB don’t want people to see, or which google puts on page 312 because most people find other links more to their liking. Google used to work pretty well as a search engine but I have trouble finding most things with it now, now that they fiddled their algorithms. Strangely, it’s often the links that lead to something embarrassing or incriminating to the empire — can’t figure out why, you know. And forget about the boolean searches they used to have.
Haha, pile not file is my filing system, and I can always put my hand on what I need.
What you’re taking about is a sort of blog-wide bookmark system. Would only work if the link had a sensible descriptive heading attached, eg Kolomoisky Petroshenko oil takeover Ukrnafta…. and then any of those words should act as tags to bring it up.

Saker is not looking to make a research institute. He just needs someone to do some of his reading for him, as he can’t spend 6 hours searching for news and another 6 writing about it plus working and eating and sleeping. He needs Russian news read, because so much just does not show up in English or other languages. And as he said, to know what is relevant.
“Saker is not looking to make a research institute. He just needs someone to do some of his reading for him”
OK — and yet a ‘database’ of some sort could serve that purpose and much more besides, at some future time, as things developed. He needs research assistance, but so do many others who are in the information war against the fascists, and that could start here. The main thing for now is to collect the information, and keep it in a form that could be accessed later. That collection could be done by any number of people — hundreds or thousands, each with a few pieces.
I dare say if Saker DID have a research institute at his disposal he would not let it go to waste. Similar for others who might have access to it, even if in pile form if a search engine or database software could be used with it. My feeling is see what grows as people think about it.
Yes, I agree with Kat Kan. I personally can find my own ‘other articles’ and I come to Saker’s for his analysis and the company of like minded people. Too many articles is pile not file.
It wouldn’t have to be a part of the blog, I was thinking, but something people who come here — the community or collective — can do without disturbing this site. An auxiliary resource thing. Saker certainly doesn’t need another project to distract him or cost him time.
So far this is just an idea and not definite plans, but I hope others will consider the concept and maybe something very good can develop. Personally, I’m having increasing trouble finding good quality information, and trying to keep it all straight and easy to refer back to.
excellent idea. I would certainly be happy to contribute. It seems to be Saker could make notes on this resource site and let people know what kind of information he is seeking.
Absolutely brilliant ! Ready to take my burden, lets go, give us a link or two…russian speaker here
Colour/color me cynical, but they, the Evil-empire have something that can put a pilot/s to sleep , somehow. It’s the old gut feeling again. It’s relatively new and undetectable.
L445,am i crazy? Don’t answer that.
I cannot be the assistant you are looking for, but this is a very interesting development, something that will make the neo-cons and their idiotic nazi very upset….

Looks like either Kolomoski is pulling back his forces to concentrate them or the s is hitting the fan and they are scattering.

This is what Monsatan wants for the Ukraine AND Europe. And looks to be a major reason for USSA being almost completely fooked up nutritionally.
http://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/real-reason-for-toxic-wheat-its-not-gluten/
Most people don’t know that Ukraine is one of the major breadbaskets of Europe.
The Yankee game plan is to infiltrate the EU market with its deadly GMO “food” (and Roundup) via Ukraine: They are going to say, “Hey, look at Ukraine! If they can grow and eat GMO ‘shit’, so can EU!”
Vast feilds were luing fallow because US NGO’s prevented transfer of land to private hands. Ukraine was buying potatos from Turkey. Grain was being ‘exported’. it was loaded onto trains and sat there. Then it was ‘imported’ at a premium. The scams that were played were beyond belief.
Until a few years ago it was illegal for foreigners to buy Uke farmland. Well, new laws were passed specifically for Monsanto (an interesting firm).
As I see it Ukraine is being turned into NovoKhazaria, the same bloodthirsty tribe running the show.
Interesting that PCR lumps agribusiness (a Rockefeller creation) with big oil, the big banks and the arms manufacturers. As a side note, I have personally benefited Dr. Williams book Wheat Belly but I did not find his hybridization rational, explaning the rise of celiac and other diseases, entirely convincing. Dr. Senef’s theory about modern harvesting practices using Roundup makes sense.
its all the same players. I’m sure, that Bill Gates is in monsanto and organic….
that’s Dr.Davis BTW,not williams.
Re ‘targeted research’:
Why not throw an issue/question out to the community on a regular basis and see what they come up with?
Or is that too ‘dragnet’?
Can’t get it to work on my phone maybe you will have more luck on a desk top
BATTLE FOR DONETSK
Battle for Donetsk is a war game with an anti-war message. It’s a confronting “topical game”, developed by the independent game studio LuGus Studios. With this game LuGus Studios does not wish to take a political stance and does not condone violence and conflict. On the contrary, our aim is to raise awareness of the conflict in Ukraine. Its sobering character should provide some food for thought.

Maybe Victoria Nuland could help? She is apparently fluent in Russian and must have access to any and all intelligence reports.
Don’t flam…Aaaah!

How about: sakerleaks @ gmail.com ?
People could mail info and links with an executive summary for quick review.
Extremely interesting interview about Putin from Kolesnikov (Kremlin pool journalist): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5g6lz3kR5I
Someone should absolutely translate it and post it on here. Delightful and insightful to watch/listen.
Your comment..’Someone’?
Why don’t YOU do it?
What’s with the passive-aggressiveness? I said “someone should translate it and post it on here”, meaning the Saker or someone from his team, I don’t have administrator/webmaster access to post things on Saker’s blog.
I’m wondering why my comment bothered you so much that you had to reply something this empty. You don’t want to or can’t do it, just don’t do it.
Spox, everyone feels protective of Saker, and he’s overworked…don’t take it personally. Yes I also would love to see your article translated…thanks for mentioning.
@thesaker
Don’t know if you are familiar with the groklaw.net model. PJ who ran that site about the SCO v IBM Linux lawsuit had the community do research, attend court sessions etc. She put out requests and whomever was in a position to do it did it.
It worked amazingly well. In fact I see lots of similarities between thesaker.net and groklaw.net.
Your comment..@blue
Strange. I spent the day before yesterday – well, some of it – Googling Kolomoisky.
Since yesterday, and all through today I cannot Google directly: I had to download Firefox. I also can no longer ‘complete action’ with ‘internet’ on Facebook: again, I have to use Firefox or Opera-mini.
I also had trouble with gmail for some time. I can receive but not send. Any ideas on how to fix this?
There’s always the standard ‘check your settings’, but more and more I’m finding that software doesn’t work right. Maybe it’s a Windows or explorer thing? Maybe it’s internet/DNS? I get mostly lost now in trying to fix things. Firefox doesn’t work that well either, and I still haven’t been able to get a Linux up and running properly — they ‘improved’ it over the years, and I can’t get control of it yet (and dread having to download source and fix it and compile the kernel). And Eudora email client no longer works, and Thunderbird is quite unsatisfactory.
Maybe virus or ordinary malware, maybe some government spooks thing, maybe corporate software problems, maybe bad programming and user interface from open source boy geniuses who never learned good practice, or some combination — I don’t know.
It’s way too complicated and unstable — and you shouldn’t have to be a programmer to run this stuff (I was a programmer, but it doesn’t help much). Most tech support doesn’t seem to know anything or be of any help. Mozilla is not what it was — some shift in who is doing it.
Usually I attribute it to ‘system breakdown’ and that goes for more than computers. Partly I think it’s ‘upgrades’ that break the other software, and introduces new bugs, and engineers who fix things that aren’t broken until nothing works. I try to run older versions when I can before the stuff was ‘fixed’ (and I see many others are doing that).
If it doesn’t destroy too much you can try re-installing. Especially if you are running Microsoft stuff, which seems to self-destruct after a while.
That’s all I can say — I keep hitting the same sort of problems.
Thanks Blue.
I was ascribing more ‘sinister’ motives to these probs. I still don’t trust Google – it definitely, along with Facebook – has agendas.
Will continue to try and find my way around these issues.
Saker that feeling of needing more hours in a day, is a common feeling I think. And also, I’d like more hours in the night. Just think if the day was 24 hours long and the night was 24 hours long. Wouldn’t that be great ? Sleeping for 24 hours. What heaven.
It might happen some day. I think the earth might change its speed someday.
The earth is already slowing down, and has been for a long time. It’s due to moon-induced tidal friction. Unfortunately you’ll need to wait a few thousand years before you’ll be able to get even a few minutes extra sleep.
My cat does something in-between. He sleeps 16 hours and is awake 8 hours. (The trouble is … when he sleeps, makes me sleepy too :-))

subscriptions and membership…you would do well. Even if it was voluntary and non-members could still access everything. Many people would join. Once a year or once a month…a choice with suggested membership fee.
I disagree. There were several at first free sites which then switched to membership fee, supposedly “voluntary” – all of them I left instantly when that greedy thing was announced. That “voluntary” is then in effect compulsory, since you stick out like sore thumb if you do not pay. If you wants to donate now lady, nothing prevents you, it IS already voluntary, so, why do you wish to impose something on others by force?
First, if you need some balanced news on Ukraine including opinion articles here are the sites I use every day and recommend. You may already have checked them out. They are in Russian though, but the content is updated very often. These sites are aggregators of some sort.
Politikus.ru
E-news.su
Rusvesna.su
I take it you speak Russian.
Hopefully, you will find the info useful.
I speak both languages and I have been following the events for one year day in and day out. I’m from Moscow but I long live abroad and of course I’m very well aware of the western ministry of propaganda aka the State Department and Co. information attack on Russia.
You are doing an important job of delivering the real news to those who truly care and those who have been zombied out by the western presstitues and need help to become aware.
Thanks a bunch.
I could contribute intermittently , i.e. dropping in sometimes for occasional assistance. I suggest creating a section of the website where your requests ( specific and general guidelines) are stated and an input channel for the results is provided .
Those types of articles have no value at all. It all relies upon government reported numbers — and government reports are all bogus: all lies and propaganda. Plus you don’t need someone with the knowledge of Russian and English languages — many easy and simple online translators will do their job just fine. You could though post some real and educational articles and inform, teach and enlighten your audience. And I don’t mean posting the brand of articles that site Russia Insider is in business of distributing. Their content has no value, just like FT, WSJ, et. al articles do not too. You can find plenty material on sites like Zerohedge, The Wealth Watchman, Deep Resource, and there are also some great Russian sites too like Topwar.ru for example. Here.
http://topwar.ru/
And here it is translated.
https://z5h64q92x9.net/proxy_u/ru-en.en/topwar.ru/
(You can chose different language and translator of course. It’s just for demonstrational purpose, and since I dislike using and promote Western corporate tools, hence Yandex there; it’s very accurate too, and I recommend using it instead of that google translator).
Will give an example of article containing substance in the next post.
Wanted to put an example of Western lies reported by their gov agencies last night (and I deliberately stress “Western” here for no one lies, distort, deceive and fabricate more than Westerners *and as far as can tell, only German and Russian governments, amidst significant countries, have some credibility in what their reports say*, and amongst them Americano case particulary stands out), but seems like I forgot. So, here it is.
According to Americanogov reports, USA unemployment stands at ~5% right? Well, take another look at definitioon and methodology of calculated unemployment before 1994 when it took some significant changes (there have been even more changes afterwards , vbut not so radically changed in definition).
http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/unemployment-charts
Around 23-24%.
The same goes for inflation numbers. According to gov or FED reports, it is basically nonexistant. Well, if you look at methodoligy of calculation before 90s, inflation is ~4%.
http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-charts
And that 4% most certainly is not true. This is how much Americano households pay for those products below more than they have a year ago.
Beef and veal +22.5%
Ground beef +21.0%
Steaks +14.9%
Pork +7.4%
Ham +11.5%
Whole Chicken +6.1%
Fresh Fish +3.5%
Eggs +8.2%
Cheese +7.8%
Fresh Vegetables +4.3%
Lettuce +12.2%
Tomatoes +9.6%
Coffee +6.7%
Butter +19.5%
http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/gov-report-says-there-is-no-inflation-its-pure-and-utter-bullshit_03102015
But even withoput all that said, I think that even a klahf wit would have known not to trust sources whihc have been proven to lie and spread propaganda. You only need to remind yourself of Ukrop government treatment of the war. You think they lie less on economic numbers they report, hm? Stupid thing to dwell on their numbers and their apaprent meanings. You will know how bad it is when people there start to rebel against their despotism. Besides, there is apsolutely no way to measure something like so-called GDP. Apsolutely no way. All fallacy in the end. Some Western lies like everything else. Only stupid Westerners fall for it. When you add all employed Americanos and their per capita (and mind you, govenemet workers and debt is not included!), you get they contribute to some 4,2-4,5 trillion of so-called GDP. How did Americanos get the 18 trillion is really something to behold, lol. All the apparent rest is governmet spending then. Fallacy, nothing more. Only morons woudl dwell on meanings of fallacies.
And if you really wanna out an end to tyranny of the so called West, just buy silver (gold too, but primarily silver as its ratio to gold atm is 72:1 wheras historical silver: gold ratio stands around 16:1). You can enrich yourself in the process too, for silver, together with gold, is going to skyrocket as the death of the fiat Ponzi scheme approches, and with it comes the end of Cabal’s Empire also. The end is not far off, so every bit of paper currency you have unused atm… do use it to buy silver.
p.s
And spread the massage also. The more silver buyers there is, the closer the end of the Ponzi sham is, and with it the death of the Cabal’s Empire too.
Here it is an article everyone should read.
