Dear friends,
First, my sincere thanks to all those who have sent their contribution to my work. This winter fundraiser is now over and even though it had a difficult start, I want to thank those who replied to my appeal and made it a success: your help is absolutely crucial and it will make a huge difference for me and my work on this blog.
Second, big news: my 2nd book, “The Essential Saker II – Civilizational Choices and Geopolitics: The Russian Challenge to the Hegemony of the AngloZionist Empire” will go on sale here, on this blog, on Monday January 1st! Please check the announcement on Monday.
Third, a member of our community, Ioan, has sent me a beautiful Orthodox calendar for 2018 which he designed specially for our community. Here it is: (takes a while to load – please be patient, the total size is 42MB)
You can also download it directly by clicking here and here (this second location might be faster)
A big THANK YOU to Ioan for this beautiful calendar!
Finally, I want to end this year by thanking you all from the very bottom of my heart. This community has be absolutely *amazing* in its kindness and support. Absolutely every time I have asked or any help I have gotten it. Of course, the financial help is crucial, but I also got heart-warming emails, (snail mail) letters, card, books, often from people whom I did not know and who never asked for anything in return! I am absolutely amazed at the kindness I have seen from our community and for that words truly fail me to express my gratitude.
Thanks to you all, the blog is doing better than ever and I am approaching the upcoming year with a few major projects (to be announced in Spring) and with a great deal of optimism.
I wish you all a Happy New Year and, to those of you who follow the Church calendar, a peaceful and joy filled feast of the Nativity!
Hugs and cheers,
The Saker
PS: Music is at the very center of my life, and has always been. I believe that music not only conveys emotions better than words can, but that it also conveys emotions for which words do not exist. I therefore consider music not only the highest form of art, but also the highest form of communication. I wanted to end this year by sharing with you my favorite album by Bill Evans: You Must Believe in Springs. I think that the sad and kind intelligence of this album must count as some of the most beautiful music every played.
This is also my way of thanking you all for being out there. Enjoy!
Update by Amarynth: The Essential Saker II is now available here: http://10.16.86.131/the-essential-saker-ii-now-available/
Well soon to be 2018 and I have my fingers crossed that some how it will be a better year for all.
Cheers from Calif.
Thanks loan for Calendar.
Great Music ! Thank you. (listening now while coding)
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year !
Hello, dear Saker.
Thank you from the bottom of heart for your wonderfull job.
For your books, I don’t practice english enough good to read them and I know that you perfectly speak french. Do they exist in french? Or is it possible to buy a pdf file of these book in french. I could buy them. And I’m sure that if the french Saker claim that it’s possible to get your books or pdf in french you have numerous people who will buy them.
Thank You
Salut Trucmuche!
Non, désole, mes livres n’ont pas encore été traduits en français.
Mais, qui sait, un jour peut-être? :-)
Amitiés,
The Saker
Souhaitons-nous le pour 2018. Allez savoir, un des traducteurs stakhanoviste du “French Saker” vous proposera peut-être de le faire. Merci encore
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year Saker!
My favorite art form is absurdist comedy. That’s why I love America & DJT!

A happy and prosperous new year to The Saker. I should have sent this on January 14th, but many people in the West don’t know the difference between the Julian and Gregorian calendars. As we say in Serbia, ЖИВЕЛИ !!!
What’s going on in Iran? Western MSM are reporting large scale protests in major cities. There have been reports that the protesters are attacking the police and taking government buildings. Trump has already reacted on Twitter.
The situation is not clear. Yes, there have been some protests over the increase in prices, but these events will certainly be blown out of proportion thy the Western media. One analyst has already stated we are seeing an attempt at a Western backed color revolution, Soros style. I would be very surprised if it succeeds.
George Soros in Iran – I read about it yesterday-
I read one of the comments on PressTV site saying that a faction of Kurdish separatists in Khorasan province are protesting in place of the ethnic population of that area in a petty attempt to fuel an uprising.
There have been some demonstrations, involving a limited number of people, about economic matters which even Iranian leaders confirmed existed and ones which they are trying to resolve. However, you also had counter demonstrations, people supporting the Government. All this has been blown out of proportion by the Western media, as I knew it would. However, Soros and the CIA better forget about a color revolution. That’s wishful thinking. The CIA put the Shah of Iran into power. The people of Iran cannot forget this. They don’t want a new Shah.
Firstly: I also wish you the best for 2018; really appreciated knowing you through your site;
Secondly; being involved in my church in Gatineau( and
having people if orthofox faith involved for Christmas preparations) can I use the images in that calendar during 2018 in my church – “eglise
St-Alexandre in Gatineau-?
Thirdly: Do not get discouraged; wer’e behind you; I gave computer science qualifications, more on the developer
Side ( working on an app involving astrophysics calculations, using three languages: java, javascript and servlets , etc)
Thanks again;
Jean-Marie Boilard
Dear Jean-Marie
Yes, of course, I don’t think that you would have any problems or objections if you used the icons of this calendar.
Kind regards and many thanks,
The Saker
Good evening, sir.
I could not agree more with what you said about music. Especially Jazz or any type that contains improvisation. It reminds us of that ethereal simultaneous link from inside and above, outside space and time. This magical phenomenon is a divine connection.
Thank you very much for your enlightening analysis and for a very good site. A fantastic job indeed.
May this next year bring you happiness.
Best regards,
Sasha
the calender is a lovely idea – I like the October painting the best – its look is perhaps even more Eastern – with the border – the December robes are gorgeous. What a generous and nice idea Ioan
Thank you Ann, it was my great pleasure and honor to give something to this splendid community, God bless You All !
Dear Saker,
A big thanks for illuminating issues that are hidden or lied about by mainstream media. Please keep up your great work. I hope to contibute one day.
From a fan of your blog from the Philippines.
Dear Saker,
May I wish you a belated Merry Christmas and hopefully a peaceful New Year.
Music is from our very soul, and there is no more poignant way of self expression than by song or music.
For my father’s funeral I played the Lament for Mary MacLeod; for my mother’s I played Chi Mi Na Morbheanna or ‘Mist covered mountains’. As you may have seen in some of my posts prior to Christmas, I left some of these tunes for my friends.
For beauty there is Mozart’s ‘Der Holle Rache from Der Zauberflote, for drama, how about Shubert’s Erlking, and another tearjerker, Joan Baez’s Birmingham Sunday. (I had a good music teacher; Mr Simons)
In this new year may the Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit grant us and our loved ones mercy, life, peace, health, salvation, visitation, pardon and remission of sins and may He grant victory to Orthodox Christians (and their allies) over all their adversaries. Amen.
PS: S novim Godom Andrei
beautiful calender.
Wishing the best for the New Year to Saker and the whole Saker family
What a beautiful calendar.
I guess if I put it on a thumb drive I can print it out on photopaper at a business center.
Will the pages fit on a standard 11 X 8.5 page?
Idea: Maybe donate some $$$ to the Internet Archive or The Saker blog for each printout? Just a thought . . .
Many thanks to the Saker for creating and anchoring this community of communicators, searching for the truth and contributing what they know to the search.
Here is another piece of music to contribute. I have always love the Middle Eastern style of music.
This is a beautiful song for Ahed Tammimi sung by the Syrian singer Tania Maria Sakkal.

Happy New Year to all,

The Saker,
Thanks for your wonderful blog. I have already bought your first book, and will definitely buy your second.
I have been trying to determine my journalist of the year, and it comes down to these two women.
Eva Bartlett and Vanessa Beeley.
It’s entirely possible, the vast majority of your readers have never heard of them. Being completely independent journalists on the ground in places such as Gaza and Syria, where mainstream “journalists?” fear to tread, can make it very difficult to get published widely.
Eva Bartlett:

Vanessa Beeley:

I just love this cartoon of both of them, which I have just found.

Dear Saker
I am happy for your thanks and send thanks straight back to you for this blog, and to all the great contributors !!
Happy New Year !
Congratulations on the book Saker !
Also, thanks for the lovely calendar Ioan, with so many many beautiful Icons. Many Mary’s with child, images and thoughts connected with which, so much a part of Russian history for hundreds of years.
I look forward to articles written by women who are journalist/writers freedom fighters for truth also, in 2018
Hi there.
I have taken the liberty to re-publish this Ioan’s very nice calender as a smaller file.
One of the downloads above is 40+ megabytes in 300 dpi. for printing.
The other is far to low in quality even for screen use.
For those of you who do not want to print it, and still enjoy very good screen quality I made this version compatible to Adobe Acrobat upwards.
It’s only megabytes.
