“…
Genichesk
Our trip went to the small town of Genichesk, which is located just off Crimea on the Ukrainian mainland and is a tourist destination for seaside vacationers in the summer. We visited the market there, walked around the town, visited a humanitarian aid distribution center and were shown the only war damage there.
…
In the market we were allowed to move freely, but we had to stay together so that our protectors could keep an eye on everything. It must have been a somewhat unusual sight for the locals when about 12 people in protective clothing and with the inscription “Press” came onto the site accompanied by about 20 heavily armed men.
I had expected that the opponents of the Russian military operation would not talk to us because they should be afraid of the Russian soldiers. However, it was exactly the opposite. The opponents told the Russian soldiers to their faces that they were not welcome and should go home. They are obviously not afraid of the Russian soldiers at all, and they call them names, sometimes violently, which the Russian soldiers let happen stoically and without reacting.
Those who are afraid – we all quickly noticed – are the supporters of the Russian operation. They walked past the soldiers and unobtrusively whispered words of thanks and things like “finally!” or “don’t go again!” to them.
The malcontents also scrambled for every microphone and stood in front of every camera, venting their displeasure, while it was hard to get the supporters of the operation on camera and interviewed. One of the few exceptions was an old lady who said she was 72 and not afraid. She almost cried with joy in front of the camera and thanked Russia.
I learned in whispered conversations with some of the people concerned that they were afraid that Russia might pull out again and that they would have to expect repression and worse for their support of Russian intervention, as it had been since after the Maidan.
…
The fear was also evident in the fact that many did not even want to be seen in the background of the picture. Most of them avoided the cameras and always walked past behind the cameramen so as not to be in the picture.
And something else about people’s reaction was telling. Due to the fact that we were under the protection of Russian soldiers, people could have thought we were pro-Russian. But when they heard that we were from the West, many refused to talk to us at all. With Russian media, many would have probably talked, but in front of a Dutch, Italian or even American camera almost no one wanted to.
One who did agree insisted on doing the interview in English, not Russian, because he was afraid Western media would twist his words. This was an experience I would not have expected in Ukraine. He then spoke positively about the Russian military operation.
…”
The mayor of the city had told the Russian army that Melitopol was a Russian city and it would not resist. The Russian army entered the city without a fight, leaving only about 50 soldiers to cooperate with the city government, and then the army moved on.
Then during the night Nazi units entered the town and attacked and literally slaughtered the Russian soldiers. A local resident told us that all this happened in front of her eyes, the dead soldiers were looted and their bodies desecrated. Thereupon units of the Russian army returned and drove the Nazis out of the town, during which there had been shootings, but “only” with small arms, heavy weapons had not been used. After that, a larger Russian unit was left in the city and since then it has been quiet in the city.
…
As passers-by told us, after the takeover of the city, the city administration was responsible for issuing humanitarian aid delivered from Russia. One man told me with bitter humor that the word “Ukraine” did not refer to the country, but came from the word “ukrast” (in Russian, “to steal” or “to steal”), because in the first days, hardly any relief supplies were distributed, instead they ended up in stores and were sold. To put an end to this, the Russian army took over the distribution of relief supplies in Melitopol itself.
The corruption in Melitopol seems to be hair-raising, as people could only laugh at the horrified faces of foreign journalists, for them this corrupt action of the city government was completely normal.
…
Already the day before we saw that people are very afraid. This was even more evident in Melitopol than in Genichesk. And again it is not the opponents of the Russian operation who are afraid, but the supporters.
…
After the press conference we talked to people on the square in front of the city administration and it was the same picture as in Genichesk. The opponents of the Russian operation were loud and crowded in front of every microphone, while the supporters stood rather apart and spoke quietly with other journalists. However, during one interview that the Mongolian colleagues did, such a heated argument developed between an opponent of the Russian operation and a supporter that we were already afraid that it might escalate into a major brawl because emotions were running so high. The opponent of the Russian military operation shouted that Russia had gambled away all sympathy on February 24, and the proponent loudly called for a referendum on the future of the region. He was one of the few who were clearly not afraid.
Since the situation threatened to escalate, we decided to leave this place and were driven to the city park. There were fewer people there and it was possible to talk to them in peace. And again it showed what we already experienced in Genichesk: As soon as it is quiet and there is no crowd, people become more open. In the park, many people told us about repression and oppression after 2014, there were so many examples that I cannot list them.
By contrast here’s a report by Graham Phillips from the Russian occupied town of Horodnia, approximately 100 miles NNE of Kiew ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horodnia )
On March 21, the Russian Ministry of Defense opens humanitarian corridors for the withdrawal of civilians and Ukrainian combat units from Mariupol and declares a “silence regime”
▪A terrible humanitarian catastrophe has developed in Mariupol as a result of lawlessness arranged by Ukrainian nationalists. Desperate and mindless bandits, realizing the impossibility of providing any assistance from Kyiv, staged a mass terror in those quarters of the city that they still control. At the same time, the reliable information we receive testifies to the terrible atrocities of the militants distraught from hopelessness. The tone of their active negotiations with officials in Kyiv, which we record daily in radio intercepts, speaks of their extreme anger towards the Ukrainian authorities because they were simply abandoned, while being forced to strictly follow the order: “stand to death”, and the status of “martyrs of Mariupol” has already been assigned to them.
▪It has been objectively established that every day from 80 to 235 innocent citizens die at the hands of the Nazis, these are terrible statistics for the last three days only, and these are the people who are trying to leave the city on their own, the militants simply shoot them.
▪At the same time, the formations of the Donetsk People’s Republic with the support of the Russian Armed Forces, realizing that neo-Nazis are closed by a “human shield” of innocent people, measures to unblock Mariupol are carried out only pointwise – house by house, block by block, without using heavy weapons, thereby avoiding civilian casualties.
▪As a result of the effective measures taken, over the past three days, 59,304 people , as well as 139 foreign citizens , have been evacuated to the Russian Federation from the center of horror and arbitrariness organized in the city by nationalists . But according to our data , up to 130,000 civilians and 184 foreign citizens from six countries are currently held hostage in the city .
. Given the above, in order to save human lives and preserve the infrastructure of the city of Mariupol, guided exclusively by humane principles, as well as on the basis of an analysis of the content of radio communications intercepted only today, desperate neo-Nazis who realized the complete hopelessness of the situation that has developed for them and the senselessness of further resistance, the Russian Federation with 10 a.m. Moscow time, tomorrow March 21, opens humanitarian corridors from Mariupol to the east, and in agreement with the Ukrainian side – to the west .
▪For the practical implementation of the measures of the humanitarian operation for the evacuation of civilians and foreign citizens along previously agreed routes, the Ukrainian side is offered the following algorithm of actions :
🔻from 9:00 a.m. , continuous communication is established between the Russian and Ukrainian sides for the mutual exchange of information;
🔻from 9:30 a.m., units of the armed forces of Ukraine, territorial defense battalions, as well as nationalists and foreign mercenaries entrenched in Mariupol, on the one hand. The Russian Armed Forces, together with the military formations of the Donetsk People’s Republic, on the other hand , declare a “complete silence regime” and guarantee its strict observance .
▪ The actual start of the “silence mode” is 9 hours 30 minutes Moscow time, at the main entrances to the city of Mariupol, both sides are indicated by the raising of flags . From the Russian side – red , from the Ukrainian side – white , along the entire line of contact. In addition, the fact that the parties are ready to introduce a “silence regime” is confirmed through all communication channels.
🔻From 10 o’clock , being continuously in touch, there is constant interaction on the functioning of humanitarian corridors between authorized officials in Moscow and Kiev, a list of officials as agreed by the parties. The Ukrainian side has already been notified about the official from the Russian side .
In this case, an organized exit from the city is organized in the following order :
▪From 10:00 to 12:00, without exception, all armed units of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries without any weapons and ammunition along the route agreed with Ukraine.
▪From 12 o’clock – simultaneous passage of humanitarian convoys with food, medicines and essentials: from the east – the Russian humanitarian convoy, from the west – formed by the Ukrainian side.
▪Ahead of these columns , sapper units are being advanced from the formations of the Donetsk People’s Republic and units of the Russian Armed Forces, which carry out continuous demining of routes to ensure the safe movement of humanitarian convoys to the residential areas of the city of Mariupol and the subsequent evacuation of civilians and foreign citizens. At the same time, everyone who wants to evacuate to Russia leaves in columns formed by the Russian Federation, and everyone who wants to go to the territories controlled by the Kiev authorities are evacuated in columns formed by the Ukrainian side.
▪At the same time, each Mariupol citizen and foreign citizen is guaranteed an exclusively voluntary choice of any of the humanitarian corridors or the right to stay in the unblocked city.”
I listen to the END.

What better tool then the threat of a nuclear war, and as it seems, basically in the hands or control of Mr Schwab.
With regards to agenda 2021 / 2030, this doesn’t really matter whatsoever, i.e. who is in control of what land/area. New World Order, same old families in control. Remember their slogan, “by 2030 you will own nothing and be happy”. The question was basically, special operations ordered by…? Orders taken from the cabal or on RUs own initiative?
If only “elites” listened to people like professor John J. Mearsheimer or the late Stephan F. Cohen… Pity, now we have to swallow the cartoonish reality of Ghost of Ancient Keeevan Ukr’ or Snake Island fairy tale or Evil Putin Bad until we run out of limbs to shoot themselves and only (empty) head is left…
I stopped listening just before the hour, when Mr Ritter began talking about how “Russia had lost the ‘information war'”.
People keep saying such things, and it’s utter nonsense.
The West lies, essentially, whenever it speaks. We know that, and we allow for it. I am a British citizen, but I have not read or listened to the mainstream media for many years. I find my news and information online, from a wide variety of sources, and I accept responsibility for sifting and evaluating it. Occasionally I get fooled. But I know that Russian sources are far more reliable than Western ones. The Russian government has intelligently dealt with Western lies by allowing Russian citizens to see them freely. They fall about laughing, or frown, but they don’t believe a word of it either.
Now Mr Ritter starts talking about “losing the information war”. It’s simple: the West lies systematically and habitually, and Russia usually tells the truth. Who, then, is deceived by this great “information war”? Only Western civilians. No one else. And why would that matter? Western civilians have no power, not even influence, over anything. Can they stop their governments waging war? Of course not.
No one in Russia, China, or most of the rest of the world believes Western lies. So what do they gain by those lies?
The Russians maintain their moral superiority by telling the truth. if they can’t speak of something, they remain silent. Why would they lose their virtue by lying like the West?
Mr Ritter’s remarks reveal that he admires what he considers effective lies and propaganda. I don’t, and no decent civilised person does. perhaps only Americans and their slaves do.
Agree, but he did mention that its not important to the Russians whatever others might think. At least not anymore. As an American, I guess for him (them), such BS propaganda is still needed to keep them alive. Hollywood style. What would there be to talk about if the CNN would just repeat Russian MOD? :)
Keep listening to the end. Ritter makes interesting and useful remarks throughout the interview. Yes, he is American, but he doesn’t eschew the exceptionalist viewpoint. He is capable to process at least two thoughts at the same time, very much unlike most of us brainwashed westerners.
“200,000 degrees is 200,000 degrees”… in the 1980’s, today, or in the future. He is gobsmacked that there actually are people near/creating usa foreign policy who speak of winning ‘limited’ nuclear war. You can tell he thinks that’s so crazy that it’s probably crazy to even speak to it. He points out that we have people in top positions whose only qualification for their job is having written a paper villifying Vladimir Putin.
Ritter is a great treasure. He has built up awesome mental muscle.
I agree: listen to the end – and encourage others to listen to this man! And hurry – because Amurdica Absurdica is swirling the drain – being taken down from the inside.
A very worthwhile listen-in there, Saker, thank you.
And a question to the forum (as it’s unlikely Mr Ritter’s still stuck around for questions….)
How does Mr Ritter’s amicable divorce with child visitation rights fit with the current Russia/China/India/Iran move to decouple from the US dollar and esp. if we add Saudi Arabia selling oil in Yuan and possibly other currencies?
Losing the ‘global reserve currency’ status is surely an existential threat to the US?
Does the US fade away – or go to war?
Good interview. See also Greyzone’s interview, overlaps this one somewhat but contain important nuggets on Albright, chemical weapons etc https://youtu.be/OSkpIq3T-Zc
Keep listening to the end. Ritter makes interesting and useful remarks throughout the interview. Yes, he is American, but he doesn’t eschew the exceptionalist viewpoint. He is capable to process at least two thoughts at the same time, very much unlike most of us brainwashed westerners.

Scott says that he would like to see Russian intelligence photographs so that he can judge the Russian actions for himself.
The trouble is, Scott, you are the enemy of Russia – because you are American. The USA is at war with Russia to all intents and purposes.
Why would the Russians share their intelligence with their main enemy?
I stopped listening just before the hour, when Mr Ritter began talking about how “Russia had lost the ‘information war'”.

One of the best and most enriching interviews I have watched in a long time. Brilliant.
Thanks again, Saker and crew.
How is loss of reservcurrency status an “existential” threat? A huge loss to the ego of the nation state, yes.
Good interview. See also Greyzone’s interview, overlaps this one somewhat but contain important nuggets on Albright, chemical weapons etc https://youtu.be/OSkpIq3T-Zc
