He who was formerly on a throne is now naked on a dunghill and covered with sores.
(Great Canon of Saint Andrew of Crete, Fifth Thursday, Song 4, verse 14)
This ringing epitaph from the classical call to repentance by the great Byzantine Church father should send a fitting message to all tyrants, petty and large, in the Balkans or wherever they might abide, especially during this Paschal season of prayerful reflection and self-examination. Serbia’s brazen rulers, who only last weekend gaily and frivolously celebrated what they thought was a resounding electoral victory, this weekend stand beleaguered by their resentful subjects and (if they are at all smart) they should be increasingly suspicious of the intrigues of those they thought would back them unconditionally, in return for the unconditional subservience shown to them.
On April 2 the presidential election in Serbia seemed successfully wrapped up (from the putative winner’s point of view, anyway) but the very next day a tidal wave of protest demonstrations was unleashed in the capital of Belgrade and two major provincial centers, Novi Sad and Niš. Instead of quickly fizzling out – which has thus far been the norm for such events in politically comatose Serbia – in the succeeding days the protests grew and spread to other cities and towns throughout the country, twenty at last count. The “mass movement” (for want of a better expression) is ostensibly conceived and led by “students”. The official social media account would have it that the students are dissatisfied not only with the result of the elections (the current premier claims that he was elected President of Serbia with 55% of the votes, leaving a bevy of opponents from the splintered opposition trailing far behind) but also in equal measure with the electoral process and the conduct of the campaign, not to mention the proverbial “system,” with its countless defects.
That is all well and good, because most of the criticisms heard in the streets of Belgrade and other Serbian cities, however general or down-to-earth they may sound, are actually quite cogent and well taken. That, after all, is the way to go if you are aiming at broad popular support. But true as that might be, it does not answer any of the natural and politically interesting questions that arise about the origin and purpose, not to mention the curious timing, of these mysteriously spontaneous public manifestations.
As for the catalogue of grievances, most reasonable people would sign off on it cheerfully. Essentially, the civic-minded students are upset because the electoral campaign was conducted in an atmosphere of inequality of resources (meaning that the incumbent was helping himself to far more advantages of office than is the custom even in the Balkans, and all that grossly at the expense of his helpless and outgunned opponents); they note that the state media overwhelmingly favored the ruling coalition’s “winning” candidate, and therefore demand that the managers of the complicit public outfits be summarily fired for malfeasance; they are demanding also the dismissal of the chairlady of the National Assembly, for agreeing to shut down her august body for the duration of the electoral campaign. It is suspected by the worldly-wise youth that the sinister reason behind the parliament’s muzzling was to prevent the handful of opposition deputies from publically expressing critical views that would diverge from peons of praise heaped upon the government candidate, that normally suffuse the coverage of the official media, thus sparing the electorate unnecessary confusion.
One of the students’ practical objections that makes particular sense concerns the electoral rolls, whose immediate purging is now categorically demanded. Indeed, Serbia’s voting lists – even by Mexican standards – present an awkward spectacle. In 2017, with a population of about seven million, there are claimed to be 6.724.172 voters.[1] So according to these official figures, Serbia’s democracy has truly gone berserk, with practically only infants and children under the age of four or five deprived of the right to vote. But it gets even funnier because according to 2004 official figures there were supposedly 6.532.263 registered voters.[2] That would mean that in a country with an annual net population loss of 30.000 to 40.000, because mortality by that much exceeds live births, in 13 years the number of eligible voters has actually increased by a healthy 250.000. The presumably phantom votes are bound to come in handy to whoever happens to be counting them and (in Stalin’s immortal phrase) most likely determines the outcome of Serbia’s elections.
The alert students have spotted this mathematical anomaly and they are quite rightly demanding its immediate rectification before anything resembling a proper election is ever allowed in Serbia to take place again. Moreover, because of what they believe to be padded electoral rolls, the impetuous youth are also demanding not just greater circumspection in future elections, but the outright annulment of the one that was just held, on April 2. One may reliably assume that this is the one demand that the winning candidate is least likely to regard sympathetically.
Needless to say, to this repertoire of specific revendications the protesters have also appended most of the routine complaints against corruption, dictatorship, unemployment, even hunger, and all the rest of it that we have heard and seen many times before.
It is still far too early to assess this sudden and unexpected outburst of spontaneous post-electoral dissatisfaction in a Serbia that had been contentedly hibernating until literally the Election Day, barely a week ago. For what mysterious reason did this impressive list of irregularities and wrongs remain largely unnoticed as late as Saturday April 1, as well as on the day of the actual voting on Sunday April 2, only to become a matter of widespread concern and catalyst for mass action – on Monday, April 3?
What are we to make of these surprising developments in the (until recently) exemplarily docile Serbia?
The only firm conclusion that at this stage may be drawn about this situation is that – it simply does not add up.
- Experience with the applied techniques of Color Revolutions over the years and the ready availability of Gene Sharp’s manuals should immediately alert us to the fact that when we see nice people marching and demanding reasonable things they might indeed be (1) good citizens fighting for social betterment, or, (2) just as likely not. We should therefore look at the broad context and examine critically the possible meta-agenda, consistency of their conduct with other, less benign explanations, and various links and outside sources of support. Cui bono? is always a good question to ask and open-minded skepticism is a wise initial attitude to take.
- Some characteristics of the Serbian demonstrations are disconcerting even at first glance. They were supposedly galvanized by a lightning social media campaign within a day of the unsatisfactory election results being announced. That, however, is impossible because the logistical preparations for such a huge affair must have taken weeks of patient preparation. The same social media also keep hammering on the point that the demonstrations have no organizers. That strains credulity given that tens of thousands of people came out onto the streets, equipped with banners and slogans, whistles and drums, assembling at the same points and marching along the same routes. Such a large number of disparate individuals could hardly have all made identical choices, each on his own and purely by chance. So it is reasonable to ask, who comprises the hidden directorate of the current demonstrations and why have they chosen, for the moment, to remain discretely in the background?
- Talking about the banners and slogans, without bothering to translate them here, it suffices to say that they are catchy and clever. If that is not a dead giveaway that the technology of Colored Revolution is being applied, it certainly is highly suggestive. As for the whistles and drums, in what shop in Belgrade were they bought and how did it occur independently to hundreds and even thousands of people to purchase them the day after the election, when – to their horror – they learned who was proclaimed the winner?
- The demonstrators (or the hidden organizers) are obviously keen to broaden their base of support and to attract all and sundry patriotic elements to join them, just as they were in the year 2000 when, using rhetoric that gave no hint of the real motives or ultimate objectives, Milošević was in the process of being removed. Throughout the week the protesters played the Serbian patriotic song “March on the Drina,” calculated to win over and regale a patriotic audience whose support at this stage is of critical importance. It was a brilliant move, reminiscent of “Otpor’s” cunning ploy in 2000, when it displayed the misleading slogan “Because I love Serbia” as it was plotting Serbia’s demise into neo-colonial servitude.
- The popular adage, If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck – it probably is a duck, remains an unsurpassed analytical tool. Not for very refined and abundantly data supported analyses to be sure, but in a pinch it always does the job.
- It is, of course, within the realm of possibility that patriotic Serbian students, with no subterranean ties, during the weeks preceding the balloting were studiously reading Gene Sharp’s manuals, while everyone else was distracted by the electoral fanfare, that they cleverly reverse engineered Sharp’s subversive precepts in order to work for results diametrically opposite to the designs of the Soros Fund, NED, and sundry Western intelligence agencies, and that “on the day after” they were therefore ready to spring into action to save their country. It is theoretically possible, but how likely is it?
- Not to be overlooked, for whatever significance it may have, Belgrade happens to be the home base for Sharp’s notorious Color Revolution outfit “Otpor,” since renamed “Canvas.” “Canvas” is fully operational, has a large number of experienced specialists, and one of its recent operations was the Ukrainian coup three years ago, where its operatives played a major role. Interestingly, anecdotal evidence has emerged that the old “Otpor” network hands, with experience in the year 2000 upheavals, throughout Serbia are being discretely re-assembled. They have been invited to re-activate themselves and lend their services to what may ultimately turn out to be the replay of “Otpor’s” signature 2000 coup against Slobodan Milošević, and all very conveniently on home turf again.
- And, talking about “Otpor,” or its current incarnation “Canvas,” note should be taken of the regime’s inept and foolish initial response to the street challenge, recalling Milošević’s confused meanderings as his downfall was being plotted under his very nose in the year 2000. The current regime chose to do exactly nothing to counter the street challenge during the first four days of growing unrest, in the critical period as it was gathering momentum, hoping that the storm would simply go away, while issuing a ridiculous statement that it actually welcomes the demonstrations as an expression of democracy. That was apparently a pathetic provincial attempt to win brownie points with the imperial overseers who actually care not a whit about democracy, or its expressions. Later in the week, the ostrich having realized that the storm was not abating, the regime hit upon the equally foolish idea of engaging some fringe hard-core Marxist Communist agitators to try to take over the protests and drive the protesters and their supporters away (or at least drive a wedge between various protesting groups) simply by dint of the inherent unpopularity of everything that they stand for. Time will tell how successful this desperate stratagem will prove to be, but the initial prognosis is not good.
- Which brings us to the next logical question: if the hypothesis that a Color Revolution is underway in Serbia is correct, what could the obedient regime possibly have done to deserve being so targeted? The evolving situation must be followed closely, with a multitude of factors and contextual elements being taken into account, before a reliable answer to that question could be ventured. But perhaps this is the wrong question to begin with. Imperial satraps have been dethroned and cast naked upon the dunghill numerous times before for no discernible specific faults that they may have committed. That risk is inherent in their employment contract. A satrap’s time might be up, even though he committed no obvious mistakes and was generally doing everything “right,” simply to refresh the façade of the regime in order to thus prolong the life and usefulness of the subservient local neo-colonial system. Another “no-fault” reason that comes to mind may be the satrap’s excessive assertiveness and suspected designs to set up even a modest independent power base of his own, thus reducing ever so slightly his absolute and helpless dependence on the metropolis and its local pro-consuls. Another possibility, in Serbia’s specific case, is that there is some “unfinished business” for the regime to complete that the hesitant satraps delayed and kept on the back burner. Final, overt recognition of Kosovo and acceleration of NATO accession in anticipation of the planned war against Russia here come to mind. The purpose of the “spontaneous” pressure from the streets (albeit organized under completely unrelated pretexts) may be just to send a message of vulnerability to the regime, at this stage. If it gets the message, the unrest may be turned off just as “spontaneously” as it was tuned on. That by no means implies, of course, that slavish compliance now will forestall a repetition of the current Color Revolution exercise later. Being unceremoniously dumped onto the dunghill, at some convenient time in the future, is always a looming prospect for those who are foolish enough to dance with the Devil.
- Which brings us to the visit to Belgrade-under-siege, on Monday, April 10, of Senator John McCain, a notorious person whose presence spells trouble wherever he appears. Beleaguered regimes that have received him are known to have had a very high mortality rate. McCain is not just an unhinged individual (that is the least of it) but, more importantly, he represents very shadowy elements lurking behind formal government institutions, of which he is technically a part in the capacity of Senate Armed Forces Committee chairman. It was long suspected, and incontrovertible and until recently suppressed evidence has emerged, that after being shot down and captured as a naval pilot during the Vietnam War, McCain collaborated with the North Vietnamese communist authorities and betrayed his country and captured comrades. For that, he should have been charged with treason upon his release and return. Instead, the deeply compromised McCain was offered a deal by the Deep State: a political career with attendant benefits in return for collaboration with it. Ever since, he has been actively conspicuous in every Deep State intelligence operation, the Ukraine and Syria being just the most recent examples. What was McCain doing in Belgrade barely a week after those who dispatched him started the street upheavals? His presence does not portend the peaceful resolution of any conflict, but its exacerbation. McCain is the personification of Marshall McLuhan’s famous adage: The medium is the message. What threatening messages, including possibly reminders of some “unfinished business” items, did McCain pass on to Serbia’s moronic and increasingly desperate leadership? Why were they so foolish as to even receive him? Was it to get their marching orders? Time will tell. One thing is for certain. By committing to carry out instructions received through McCain they only will have done further irreparable damage to their country in return for a brief postponement of their own demise. Once they “finish the business” they will become totally useless, and moreover will turn into a political liability for the imperial masters. At that point, their fate will be sealed and the dunghill, with everything that implies, will be their guaranteed final destination.
In conclusion, the Serbian people are trapped in a vise. Hoodwinked by the intelligence operation which in the year 2000 installed a series of foreign agents to administer their country, after a coup executed under false pretenses but in which they were foolishly complicit, the Serbian people have given up their freedom and sovereignty. They are spectators of their own history and at most now are from time to time permitted to be externally manipulated stage extras as their history, written by others, unfolds. Their room for maneuver is extremely limited, the information they are allowed to have is strictly filtered and controlled, in what passes for elections the only “choice” allowed them is among corrupt and blackmailed imperial hacks. Their goose – or to return to the metaphor earlier applied to their most recent dubious advocates and saviors, their “duck” – seems to be cooked.
If our dark forebodings about the character of the current protests are correct, Serbian patriots have little to look forward to. When, to use Lenin’s pungent phrase, power is lying in the streets, it will be seized not by those who are noble, good, and patriotic, but by those who are organized and trained to do it.
At the moment in Serbia there is no organized political force capable of seizing government authority on behalf of and for the benefit of the Serbian people and in defense of their state’s sovereignty, even should such an opportunity miraculously present itself.
There are compelling geopolitical reasons to keep an eye on the current developments in Serbia and on the conduct of empire’s entrenched henchmen there and the machinations of its foot soldiers in the streets. It is a dialectic strictly confined to the interplay of forces completely foreign to the marginalized Serbian nation. By no means should decent people be taking sides at this point or entertaining the illusion that they could influence or affect these proceedings to any significant degree. The old, unreconstructed cynic Henry Kissinger probably put it best in a comment he made in another context: It is a shame that both sides cannot lose.

Vladimir Putin is obliged to ask about Russia’s options facing a US regime in which, as the Kremlin now acknowledges, a military junta has installed itself behind President Donald Trump. “We have seen this all before”, Putin declared yesterday.
[…]
…according to Putin, the US junta is preparing new operations for the purpose of escalating the war in Syria, as well as the war against Russia. “We have information from a variety of sources that such provocations (I cannot find another word for this) are being prepared in other parts of Syria, including in southern suburbs of Damascus, where they are planning to plant certain substances and accuse Syrian authorities of using them.”
The statement to which John Helmer linked in his story, from the website of the Russian President, has since been removed.

Everyone should also read Helmer’s previous piece, if they haven’t already. Helmer suggests Trump, like Reagan, especially after the Reykiyavik summit with Gorbachev, has all the early signs of someone developing Alzheimers. That is a careful way to say Trump cognitive faculties are very much suddenly diminished. My interpretation is he is being drugged, hardly an unprecedented act or means of controlling politicians and quite possibly what happened to Reagan.

The West is Unpredictable, and for 100 years used to play with people in Balkans. They changed the map many times in the past, and can change it in the future over and over again. On 1920 Trianon Treaty Stripped 60 % of the Hungary. Nobody can predict what may happen. Depending on geopolitical interests Macedonia could be split Between Bulgaria and Greece, or Albania could be split between Serbia and Greece or who knows what may happen?
Macedonia: should it even be a country?
‘Macedonia not a country – sorry’: Skopje furious after US Congressman suggests partitioning
https://www.rt.com/news/376657-macedonia-split-rohrabacher-republican/
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia has expressed its outrage to the US State Department after Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher suggested it was not a country, and should be partitioned by neighbors such as Kosovo and Bulgaria.
According to Rohrabacher, the creation of Macedonia itself was a failed project, and the atmosphere is ripe for a fresh redrawing of the borders.
“My inclination is Macedonia is not a country. I’m sorry – it’s not a country,” the California congressman told Albanian TV channel Vizion Plus.
“There is such a division in their country they will never be able to live together in the future. For this reason, Kosovars and Albanians from Macedonia should be part of Kosovo and the rest of Macedonia should be part of Bulgaria or any other country to which they believe they are related,” he was cited as saying by Bulgarian news wire BGNES in a translation from Albanian.
“The idea is to keep Macedonia alive because someone 30 years ago decided it is a configuration that should come out of the dismantling of Yugoslavia,” Rohrabacher continued.
…….
….. On the issue of border redrawing, Rohrabacher said this would ideally be carried out with peace for the Balkans in mind.
The congressman also added that he is not afraid of Russian influence in the Balkan region.
But wait, Saker-ites, the brew gets even more intoxicating, because
Sen John McCain! says Rohrabacher is part of the GOP’s “lunatic fringe”

Why is it that officials in these countries seem not to be able to see how the West uses “social media” to destroy them. Are they really that stupid, after Ukraine, not to understand that. Why do they not monitor social media posts of possible enemies.I really can not the grasp the level of stupidity they must suffer from not to see and correct errors like that. And letting the “likes” of John McCain come into your country, must surely top the “clueless” list.
Uncle, the officials in Serbia specifically are head over heels for Americans and everything EU/NATO. They are stooges of the Evil Empire and as Stefan points out they are about to be ditched by their colonial masters for an even more subservient model. Serbia is dying and not only Serbia. So are doing Bosnia, Macedonia and even EU-member Croatia. They all have negative birth rates and people are leaving en masse. Total lethargy is rampant as is Saudi-backed Wahhabism amongst its Islamic population and pornographic content on TV and other media. Total catastrophe.
The territory of the South Slavic tribes is being cleansed of people and resources are being preserved for someone else. Geographically that area there is heaven on Earth. Nothing like that exists anywhere else on the planet.

You are correct. It’s called the Intermarium Plan – the idea is not new, but it is now being implemented in an accelerated fashion.
This “think tank” article explains some of the recent geo-political theatre as part of the Intermarium plan.

Just had a look at that Carnegie Endowment pile of verbal dung…
It is always funny to see the Fascists Fantasies on display…
Yeah…an a new ‘Intermarium’…why not…?
Basically a Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth for the 21’st century…
The goal…?…to somehow make more permanent the obviously crumbling fake nation of Ukraine…which the neo-khazars have managed to bring to life like some kind of Frankenstein Monster…
What a joke…they will find that the more BS they spread towards Russian Frontier…the more they are digging a grave for themselves…
As for Serbia…what a shame…a once proud nation that lost one out of every three men in WW1…….now reduced to a little satrapy that gets kicked around with zero respect from the European masters it looks up to…
Vucic is the most disgusting licker of empire’s unmentionables…I have often wondered who on earth among the Serbian people actually votes for this guy…
I don’t believe for one moment that any of the elections since Milosevic [which he won fair and square] were actually legitimate…
For anyone who travels to Serbia they will be greatly impressed by the vitality…both physical and mental…of the Serbian people…especially the young…
It seemed to be like the men are all basketball players and the women tall beauties…in downtown Belgrade I honestly do not recall seeing an unattractive woman…and never in any place an obese person of any sex or age…
Remarkable…Go Serbian Heroes…Hopefully VVP has your back this time…
The targeted Balkan governments are slowly worn down via political pressure from without, and from either openly or secretly installed puppets/spies from within. The host government pretends to continue with business as usual, but sooner or later, as one institution follows another as they fall to the pressure it becomes taboo to say, do or act outside the dictated norm. After Yugoslavia was destroyed the resultant mini-republics were easy pray for the US and EU. Nominated satraps are rewarded according to their obedience, believing they gain points with Empire by proclaiming fealty but its all smoke and mirrors. The general populace is ignored. The animal is slowly brought down…
It’s even worse than you think Uncle Bob, much, much, worse. Like Boris Yeltsin & Andrei Kozyrev on steroids. The Serbian political scene is incredibly complex, hardly a novel observation & same could be said for nearly every country, but there are some real complex nuances where Serbia is concerned. There is a highly developed & extremely extensive 5th & 6th column, the Atlanticist agent network has infiltrated Serbia like no where else on Earth, I am sure. There is the additional factor of an auto-chauvinist complex that runs so deep in the country & society, that seemingly paradoxically it inflicts the patriotic segments of the political scene as well. The character of Serbian society was deeply transformed as a consequence of the Titoist brand of communism, & the urbanization that followed industrialization during the Yugoslav period of the 1950s, 60s, & 70s. The major bulk of the society in 1945, end WW2, was rural peasantry –
farmers, but in the decades that followed the majority of Serbian society migrated internally to the towns & cities, or emigrated externally to the West, which is what my parents did, leaving their village (“selo”) in western Serbia (Valjevo/Sabac/Loznica region) & settling in the UK where I was subsequently born & raised. When Tito/Broz officially crossed over into the NATO camp in 1948, his regime/junta proceeded to turn over the military (JNA) & security services (UDBA) to NATO/CIA/MI6/BND to manage. By the 1990s when Yugo imploded, there was no Yugoslav politicial that was not in the pocket of one, or all, of these Western intel agencies. That includes Slobodan Milosevic, & contrary to what some like to believe, Vojislav Seselj. The current PM come President, Vucic, was Seselj’s closest collaborator up until 2008, when he spectacularly sold out his boss who was fighting an epic legal war against the Hague Tribunal (ICTY) which he won, hands down. Prior to that however, there was the 5th Oct 2000 color revolution ouster of Milosevic, which saw Serbia infiltrated by Atlanticist networks even more in the years that followed. It is a real mess in Serbia, the population remains vehemently anti-NATO, despite the fact that an entire generation has grown up since the NATO bombing of the country in 1999. The majority of Serbs as well, in & outside of the county, are strongly pro-Russian, or Russophile. The majority of us absolutely accept the label “little Russians” with pride, So, the good news is, that it is a matter of time before the country crosses into the Russian sphere completely, it will happen, it is as inevitable as anything can be in politics & human affairs more generally. In the meantime however, the country is in grave danger, the West are well aware that Serbia will go over to the Russian side at some point, become a member of CSTO & EEU, They will obviously seek to prevent this & their main weapon are the 5th & 6th column which are being activated right now as we speak.
Curiously, the author has chosen to omit neighboring Macedonia from his analysis, where the exact same script now being applied in Serbia has been wreaking havoc for two and a half years. As in Serbia, the ruling government coalition proved incapable of withstanding the debilitating effects of the many-pronged attacks by the seemingly disaffected oppostion, and the rent-a-crowd known affectionally amongst themselves as the color revolutionaries. All at the behest and call of a seemingly capricious God, yet with an Archilles Heel which has at last been exposed. When the sorely aggrieved Macedonian people finally came out onto the streets, it was as if the heavens had opened and it started – not to simply rain, but pour! In true Biblical fashion, and as the crowds which have been protesting so far peacefully, approach 50 days on the streets throughout the cities, towns and even villages of Macedonia, have stated – Macedonia belongs to the Macedonian people alone and no-one, absolutely no one has any right nor will they succeed in bringing her down!! As the anti-constitutional Oppostion/Albanian separatist coalition scheme to take government on the so-called post election Tirana Platform ( Greater Albania Platform ) the people’s ire is slowly being raised to boiling point! The ensuing stale-mate has yielded a kind of war of attrition with the Soros and US/EU backed Putchists slowly but surely beginning to lose ground as they simply cannot get around President Ivanov and the Macedonian people.
Its certain that Serbia is now being served the same dish as their neighbors in Macedonia, and it remains to be seen what will ensue as the cycle entered into begins to accelerate. In Macedonia’s case, the upshot is that all masks have finally fallen and there can be no question as to who is who, what they represent and what the deep state has in mind for Macedonia. A genuine grass roots patriotic movement has been born and is slowly organising itself into a political force. And, to the chagrin of the CIA and Soros, is succeeding thus far in thwarting all of their plans. As for the end game, its still aways off, but ideally Serbia and Macedonia should form a geo-strategic and political union while proclaiming themselves militarily neutral under Russian patronage, as Russian Ambassador to Macedonia, Oleg Ščerbak suggested two weeks ago. Serbia and Macedonia both share the same weakness, and this is that their politicians have proved incapable to date of withstanding the will of their US, NATO and EU handlers, in spite of their having little to nothing to show for their grovelling vasselage.
One in three people in Macedonia speaks Albanian, some Serbian and the rest Bulgarian. Macedonia has not a National Identity.
The Albanian population was exaggerated by fraud. The real population of Albanians is more like 16-18%. Even in the census over a decade ago, the international community threatened Macedonia NOT to publish the results until they could tamper with it.
Since then, Macedonia has implemented technology and checks which would prevent all the fake/non-existent people from registering/voting and that is why the international community and Albanians are avoiding another census.
Albanians are very fluid. They freely travel between so-called countries of the Balkans so it is not possible to ascertain the real numbers. It was thought that they number 2 million in Kosovo and Metohija alone but recent census revealed much lower numbers even with all the biased maths they always engage in. But with their blind hatred towards their neighbours and subservience to the Evil Empire they will eventually bring doom to themselves. I personally don’t look forward to that.
That sounds a bit like Israel. Only a handful of Jews are holding the forward post of the Anglo-zionist Empire at any one time. Most are taking care of business in Moscow and the USA.
Albanian numbers are definitely exaggerated, with many Albanians having Albanian, Kosovo, Serbian, Macedonian citizenship. This distortion of their numbers is enabled by their Western masters for their own geo-political purposes of course. Orthodox Christian Slavs in the mind of Western Europe and the US means Russia. Carl Bildt, Swedish mediocrity of a politician recently said, the real enemy of Western Europe is not the Muslims, its the Orthodox Christian Slavs!
As a Macedonian from Western Macedonia who grew up with them explained, the Albanians have a tribal or herd mentality. They are capable of the most insidious evil especially toward their much more culturally advanced Macedonian and Serbian nieghbors, when they know they have a great power behind them. Historically, Albanians were the front line fighters for the Ottomans, for Hitler and now for the US/NATO/EU. They are trying to re-write history in order to justify the creation of Greater Albania however, they have no history of note, hence their inferiority complex and hatred of their neigbors. (removed, ethnic attacks are not permitted MOD)
My oversight, apologies..
“Carl Bildt, Swedish mediocrity of a politician recently said, the real enemy of Western Europe is not the Muslims, its the Orthodox Christian Slavs!”
Dimitar, do you have a link to Carl Bildt’s pronunciamento? Being the Corporate Crime scumbag that he is, there might be something particularly significant to it, possibly reinforced by where and to whom he said it. Thanks in advance.

https://www.project-syndicate.org/commentary/eu-balkans-growing-instability-by-carl-bildt-2017-03
“European Union leaders have suddenly awoken to new realities in the Balkans. At a recent summit they emphasised the need for increased EU engagement to maintain stability – and to push back against Russian influence – in the region.” Need we say any more?
How original “anonymous”, so the “Macedonian Question” which is actual for 2-3 centuries relates to…who exactly??
Dum Moskvae Consulitur, Belgradum Expugnatur!
Serbia is enjoying the blessings of representative democracy <= the devil inside!
It’s very possible that some American NGO is helping to organize the protests. Recent protests related to a construction project reveled some mass produced signs in the crowd using clever American style catch phrases. In this protest, I noticed more handwritten independently produced signs. Perhaps it’s cover. I can’t be sure yet but I’m watching for those signs of Western meddling.
Serbia does have a history of it’s “revolutions” being inspired and organized from London and Washington.
I am just not ready to make a parallel with the Otpor/Slobo affair just yet. And even if the protests are Western inspired, I believe that a spark of a kind was needed badly in Serbia.
Why?
Because Aleksandar Vucic (the author of the analysis never mentions his name) is enjoying a situation where he has no political opposition. He definitely decides most things on his own. His friends from his party are very busy plundering what hasn’t been plundered yet (corruption is massive on all levels in Serbia, perhaps Russian Oligarch Style reduced for scale). Others have plundered Serbia’s industry before Vucic and his friends. He is not the first and not the last. He spends a lot of time in the media (every other news story is about him and what he did for the day, North Korea Style. His party has taken over various media institutions/organizations and average people are fed his propaganda and are very poorly informed, which makes his election numbers plausible.
There are a lot of students and youth who do not see any prospects for their future. Jobs are rarely obtained on merit and by competing on the jobs market. In other words there are a lot of reasons for people to be unsatisfied and frustrated. Salaries are around 300 Euros if you are lucky. Ordinary supermarket staff and general sales clerks get 200 Euros. Really a shame. And there is no progress.
Vucic boasts about opening up a road here, a bridge here, a building here, a foreign factory that employs a few locals at low salaries, and that’s it. There is no vision, no optimism for a different future. In other words, the people are screwed for at least the next 20 years economically and most importantly, career wise. There is little to no opportunity to have a challenging, fulfilling and rewarding career.
If in fact, someone other than homegrown people are organizing these protests, they have found a perfect time to do it.
But why would Americans want to bring Vucic down? He is their man. He has done everything they have asked of him down to determining pension payouts and electicity prices (IMF World Bank determines these things). Politically, he has Serbia being neutral and flirts with Russia occasionally. He is really not any threat to America and NATO. They (The West) might be happy about the protests just to keep pressure on him and his power. But overall, he is their puppet, to put it bluntly (he receives war criminals like Blair and Hillary with a red carpet, and even employs Blairs consulting firm).
Also, McCain was in Belgrade a few days ago talking about how war always breaks out here and that he hopes WWIII doesn’t start here soon (I believe he was here to facilitate the transfer of arms via Saudi/UAE to Syria).
I can’t think of a reason why the Americans would want a genuine political change in Serbia. Perhaps they think they have someone more friendly, but it’s hard to imagine anyone more friendly than Aleksandar Vucic.
This post is getting long, wich illustrates the complexity.
I’ll just say finally that I believe that Serbia’s youth sees no future with Vucic and the current economic and political (western) climate and I can’t blame them for protesting against his and his party’s total dominance (BTW, the Police and Military Unions are also protesting).
I would be very happy if I didn’t have to see his face 24/7 on TV and on every lamppost and blank wall in Serbia.
P.S. I would like Serbia to be allied with Russia and China economically and politically. And the current situation is far from that. We need a Putin.
A political leader can never be “too” pro-US in the US thinking. So far Serbia hasn’t “crossed the Rubicon” yet. And joined NATO,and demonized Russia. That says to the US that Vucic isn’t “stooge enough” for them. So if they are behind these protests, those reasons would almost certainly be “why”. When a leader sells out to the US ,they “expect” the sell out to be 100%. Not following “all” the US’s orders ,says to them you aren’t stooge “enough”.And a different stooge is required.
Serbia has also refused to join the EU and US in sanctions on Russia.
That single disobedience has probably marked Vucic as a fail in the US stooge test.
Same with Gruevski and Ivanov, they refused to sanction Russia and thats when all hell was unleashed on Macedonia…
Vucic cannot introduce sanctions to Russia. He would gladly do it but 100% of oil and gas arrives from Russia. Everything stops if he introduces sanctions. And then the people would chew him up and spit him out. Serbs are absolutely for Russia. Minorities are mostly pro-US as are those Serbs who are paid to be 5-th columnist.
I cannot fathom how can a Serb be pro-EU and/or pro-NATO when you take into concern that they bombed us with depleted uranium with a half-life cycle of 700 million years. In Serbia the cancer rate is up 7000% since the genocidal NATO aggression in 1999. It is us and our kids that will be breathing radio-active dust for 700 million years. Thanks NATO!
@Marko
“..Minorities are mostly pro-US..” I’m guessing here you are referring to Croats and Muslims, our traditional pathologic haters. Please don’t put your fellow Orthodox Vlachs in Eastern Serbia in the same sentence with those sympathizers of the IV Reich.
There has been over the last few years a lot of talk of the US (along with other Western countries) indulging in “color revolutions” to enforce their control over the World. It seems to be one of their main and most effective weapons. Yesterday President Putin talked about that. And in an interview was said to say that Russia intended to prevent outside controlled color revolutions from succeeding in the future. In friendly to Russia states. If he was serious. And actually does that, it will take a major weapon away from the the West in their quest for World domination.
I’ve thought for a long time that that needed to be done. So I’m hoping he was serious about it.There are several things needing to be done to stop the color revolution threat to Russia and their friends.Russia working with friendly governments need to investigate in those countries the organizations and foreign funding behind the “regime change” groups. Basically along with a military measure, its a police matter, very similar to investigations of “organized crime. You research and monitor the groups organizing these provocations, find out who is behind them. Where the funding comes from. And which elements in a country have already been subverted. And which elements the foreign funded groups are attempting to subvert. Then you cut all their funding, arrest the foreign agents involved. And those local agents that have been subverted.Close off their avenues of foreign support and funding. And expose those groups to the general public as foreign agents, and 5th column traitors. It is hard, time consuming work. But must be done if a nation wants to save itself from color revolutions and the fate of Ukraine.
Certainly there will be much talk from the West of “human rights violations”. But the answer to that is that “human rights” does not include the “rights” of a foreign nation to subvert another nation at their pleasure.Of course, local “home grown” calls for reforms shouldn’t be prevented from operating. But any and all groups working for,and funded by,foreign states,or their corporate supporters, don’t come under that category. And they need to be completely eliminated, root and branch. No matter about the howls that will come from the US and their Western minions. The survival of those threatened nations is too important to care about anything else.
“Later in the week, the ostrich having realized that the storm was not abating, the regime hit upon the equally foolish idea of engaging some fringe hard-core Marxist Communist agitators to try to take over the protests and drive the protesters and their supporters away (or at least drive a wedge between various protesting groups) simply by dint of the inherent unpopularity of everything that they stand for.”
I believe this was one of the techniques used against the American Occupy protesters to defuse that movement and protests. I saw it in person, and the people executing this method looked like they’d come costumed from central casting.
The American Occupy movement and its open-democracy, general assembly meetings were very susceptable to this as it was easy to whip up a crowd to support the more radical positions. So, the characters from central casting helped to create an atmosphere where alliances toward the center became unreasonable while the local general assembly voted for the most radical proposal sure to drive away any widespread support.
Fine article – thanks for the update.

To anyone who is interested to see what is happening in Macedonia with the protests against US/EU/NATO imposed Greater Albania ultimatum, atm. please listen to this beautiful song with accompanying footage from the protests. In fact its a Macedonian text by artist/poet Aleksandar Rusjakov with a pair of young vocalists, set to Paul Simon’s “Sounds of Silence”. A deeply moving expression of a people’s profound love and defence of their country against the war-mongering West!
“Anonymous” on April 12, 2013 at 4:39 UTC, this is for you.

Also, Serbian analyst Miša Gjurkovik looks at Macedonian crisis and what it means for Serbia;

Some comments were about Vucic is a stooge of the US. Whatever he is, he said a few weeks ago that Serbia will never join NATO:
https://inserbia.info/today/2017/03/vucic-serbia-will-never-join-nato/
Serbia also received or will soon receive a number of MiG-29 fighters from Russia. Aren’t these “crimes” serious enough to warrant a colour revolution?
