The Ruble is slowly climbing back up and is already treading at a much more reasonable rate (with probably more readjustment ahead). See for yourself:
But his happened at a great cost. See ZeroHedge about this: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-12-25/ruble-rallies-34-after-biggest-russian-intervention-5-years

There is a website named RussiaSlam, which takes the most discussed news on the Russian internet, and translates the stories and comments on those stories into English. They have similar sites for India, Chinasmack, japan, and Korea. There seems to be no political agenda, but sometimes some sensationalism is seen:

Yes and we know why he isn’t on lame stream media. The corp. owned media hates the truth. The heavy thinkers of Amerikan economics are all at this school.
Michael Hudson is distinguished research professor of economics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Though UMKC possesses a very forward thinking department of economics, to state all of the “heavy thinkers of economics in amerika” is not true, and cannot be validated. Aside from Mr’s. Hudson and black the majority of the others there tend to be as economically dogmatic as their colleagues at U. Chicago. This is merely personal opinion so you may kick my thoughts to the gutter if you choose to. Expanding your horizons is always a worthwhile endeavor.
This is simply untrue. I would advise you to familiarize yourself with the work leading MMT economists L. Randall Wray and Stephanie Kelton both of whom are members of the UMKC faculty.
Sir,
I am completely familiar with the work, writings and theories of the economists you cite. What I state is completely accurate. I would suggest you familiarize yourself with the Dr. Joseph Huber and his analysis regarding MMT. You might also learn from others who support real monetary reforms. Such as the American Monetary Institute. The MMT faithful describe the creation of money as if the necessary monetary reforms are already in place. In reality they are not. I suggest you widen your horizons somewhat before making blanket criticisms. Should you wish to do so, we can discuss this further directly. Rather than clogging the comment section. First however, you need to understand what money is and how and by whom it is created in the real world.
Have you even read Mr. Hudson’s work?
Some examples of the changes going on in the world discussed by Hudson as a result of maniacal ZPC/NWO extremism.

Opportunity for Russia? India cancels $1bn minesweeper deal with S. Korea
http://rt.com/op-edge/217543-india-russia-minesweeper-deal/
The vulnerability of France to Israelo-American pressure may have contributed to the Indians cancelling the SK ship deal. South Korea is even more vulnerable to ZPC/NWO arm twisting than France is.

But I am not sure that India and Russia going against South Korea is such a good idea.
South Korea did not impose any sanctions on Russia and are in fact looking to cooperate with Russia even more on the economic front as well as on North Korea. There is even a very high probability of South Korea cutting a pipeline deal with Russia in the next year.
Update on the new MH17 info, looks like the Russians are moving finally:
Witness account of Ukraine MH17 takedown confirmed by lie detector – investigators
http://rt.com/news/217295-mh17-ukraine-military-plane/
“… The interview was conducted on Tuesday, spokesman for the committee Vladimir Markin told the media on Wednesday.
This followed a report in a Russian newspaper, in which the Ukrainian citizen, who preferred to remain anonymous, voiced his allegations.
The investigators used a polygraph during the interview, which showed no evidence of the witness lying, he added.
“The facts were reported by the witness clearly and with no inconsistencies. The investigators lean towards considering them truthful. A polygraph examination confirmed them too,” the official said.
“According to his account, he personally saw the plane piloted by [Ukrainian military pilot] Voloshin armed with R-60 air-to-air missiles,” Markin said. “He added there was no need for such weapons during regular air missions of the Ukrainian Air Forces because the rebel forces had no military aircraft.”
Markin said that the Investigative Committee will continue gathering and analyzing evidence perpetrating to the downing of MH17 and will share the information with the Netherlands-led international probe into the incident, “if they really interested in establishing the truth and send an inquiry.”
The witness is likely to be taken into protective custody in Russia because his life may be threatened, Markin said.
The Ukrainian Security Service confirmed on Wednesday that a Captain Voloshin does serve as a military pilot in the country’s armed services. But it said he didn’t fly any missions on the day the Malaysian Airlines flight was shot down.
The Russian Investigative Committee invited the Dutch or Malaysian experts to check Voloshin using a polygraph, and Ukraine’s Security Service to provide the military log to the official investigation, Markin said.
“The fact that Ukraine’s Security Service has acknowledged Voloshin’s existence is already an accomplishment,” he said.
Markin suggested the air traffic controllers operating in the area on the day of the catastrophe should also be questioned, adding that they should be “found” first.
“It is clear that all this is very difficult, and probably impossible. It is much easier to call the information and evidence provided by Russia’s Investigative Committee ‘fake’,” he said.
The Russian Defense Ministry made public radar data indicating that a Ukrainian military jet capable of taking down the airliner with an air-to-air missile was in the vicinity of MH17 at the time of the incident…”

I am of the pessimistic opinion that no matter how conclusive evidence Russia may provide about the most obvious false flag in the history of false flags, the Western propaganda ministries will manage to contain the damage.
In another interesting development, RT is critical of the Israelis. Two of their top 4 stories focus on Israeli repulsiveness.
‘Offended’ Israel not to support publicly the US-Cuba breakthrough – report
http://rt.com/usa/217595-israel-us-cuba-embargo/
One can safely ignore the statements by Israelis and the propaganda of the zionazi Haaretz rag as to why about the reason for continued Israeli hostility towards Cuba and their “role” in it and opposing any Ami lessening of their war on Cuba. That is simply typical zio obfuscation. The reaction of Israel gives a clue how deep the power of the ziofascist element is embedded in the ZPC/NWO establishment.
What the article does not mention, but hints at, is the powerful influence Israel has in the USA on Cuban matters. It’s quite clear that Israel, and the zionazi element of the ZPC/NWO, is not a backseat actor in anti-Cuban policy, but is right up there making decisions at the top. The ZPC/NWO Ukrainian coup and provocations are a similar example of these ziofascists manipulating events and policy safely (as always) behind the scenes.
This is quite the opposite of what William Blum and other pundits who claim Israeli/zionist involvement in matters outside the Mideast is that of a colony hanging onto massa’s coattails scavenging scraps.
The 2nd article focuses on Israeli war crimes, specifically, one really disgusting crime.
Israeli serviceman shoots 5yo Palestinian in the face (GRAPHIC IMAGES)
“…Israeli police have fired a rubber bullet at a five-year-old Palestinian boy’s face as he was getting out of a school bus on his way home, the child’s family told Palestinian media. He sustained a skull fracture under his eye.
The incident happened when Muhammad Jamal Ubeid and his 14-year-old sister stepped out of the school bus and started walking home in al-Issawiya, an Arab village and neighborhood in East Jerusalem, on Wednesday.
“An Israeli soldier fired a black rubber-coated bullet at the child from a close distance, injuring him under the eye,” Muhammad’s uncle told the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency…”

The theocratic feudal system.
I am sure that abuses did exist in Tibet – humans are humans and power corrupts. It is also my personal opinion that the abuses are are very conveniently much exxagerated by China. And as noted Tibetans clearly show that they prefer their traditions – warts and all – to the Chinese policies of complete cultural destruction.
“I see China protecting themselves from the US in Tibet.”
This was probably one of the reasons – and it makes the conquest sound purely defensive at the same time. But in view of the extremely self-centered Chinese tradition I would be very surprised if a major – and not so loudly admitted – reason wasn’t the juicy plum that a militarily disinterested Tibet represented: a huge territory, new areas to colonize, direct access to India, Pakistan etc, control over the sources of major Asian rivers, plus mineral and biological resources.

There’s also this recap
The Bear Squeezes Back: Ruble Rises Against Dollar:
“The Russian ruble had been falling in value against the U.S. dollar. It fell as much as 11 per cent on Dec. 16. Speculators borrowed rubles in the morning and sold them for dollars immediately. At the end of that day, the rubles were bought back for 11 per cent less, the loan repaid, and the speculators picks up an 11 per cent profit in one day, just short of 4,000 per cent if it could be sustained for a year.
Except that on December 17, the Russian Central Bank intervened in the foreign exchange market to support the value of the ruble. By selling from its deep U.S. dollar reserves, the Russians were able to drive up the value of the ruble, forcing speculators to take huge losses. The new headline was “Ruble Surges.”
Later last week, and again to start the week of December 22, the ruble has been gaining ground against the dollar. The engineer of the turnaround is Ms. Elvira Nabiullina [13], Governor of the Bank of Russia, the first woman to head a G8 central bank, and formerly economic adviser to Putin.
By defeating attempts to drive its currency down, the Russian Central Bank had executed a procedure known as a “bear squeeze,” the bears being those who believed the ruble would fall in value. Feeding this belief was major misinformation, and misunderstanding of the Russian economic and financial situation. […]”

http://www.caseyresearch.com/cm/the-colder-war-has-begun-and-russia-is-winning
The above links that I provide are extremely relevant to the global situation of today and
go a long way in explaining why the Empire is waging a ruthless war on Russia. In fact, if anything, their hatred and fear of Russia may even be deemed as reasonable and justified. Not in the moral, but in the strategic sense. Their methods are vile and barbaric, but their fear I think is justified.
The first article posted on zerohedge.com, explains in a quite precise manner why shale oil production is economically disastrous at current prices. The breakdown of the expenses involved is thorough and undeniable. An essential read.
The second article is all about one of the biggest shale plays in North America, the Bakken in North Dakota and Montana. The writer convincingly (and with extensive evidence to boot) argues that the Bakken has already peaked since all its sweetspots seem to have been exhausted. It seems that not even a higher oil price can arrest the inevitable decline of the Bakken in the coming months and years.
The third link is from an American energy investor who argues that Putin has skillfully positioned Russia at the epicentre of the global energy market. As resources dwindle everywhere, Russia will enjoy greater and greater leverage over the rest of the planet, and her ability to tank the US dollar will increase immeasurably, especially since China is also joining the effort. More or less, Russia is in control of anywhere from a quarter to one third of the global reserves of oil, natural gas and uranium. With the passage of time and the further depletion of resources elsewhere, along with increased demand from the developing world this will provide Russia with enormous sources of revenue and powerful leverage. But first Russia must withstand the current attack from the Empire.
Perhaps calling for the liquidation of Nabiullina was premature. /sarc
I for one had difficulty beleiving that she would implement such a radical policy without the approval of the person that recently put her in that position.

I believe that the introduction to the West of Buddhism as a technique [of what?] and its possibly automatic consequence of a more ethical and civilized lifestyle [???] is an event of major planetary importance.
At best, of very minor “planetary importance”. Tibetan Buddhism appeals to a few Westerners (less so now than previously) because (a) books in the 1960s and 1970s by Alexandra David-Neel, Evans-Wentz, Anagarika Govinda, John Blofeld and other reputable scholars made it seem exotically mysterious and (b) with its ethical teachings it is the least-worst of the major religions (with the possible exception of Orthodox Christianity).
More generally, Buddhism is fundamentally incompatible with the Western mentality because the primary goal of Buddhism (in any form) is escape from the “wheel of birth/death/rebirth” — thus Buddhism is life-denying — whereas the Western attitude toward life and this world is that it is an opportunity for action, experience, accomplishment, enjoyment, etc. The two are incompatible.
And, like all organized religion, Tibetan Buddhism has political and globally hegemonic goals. See The buddhocratic conquest of the west

The fifth column is happy. Ukrainian mass media filled with joy. Finally! Russia’s economy is collapsing. Now the prices ar, wages down, social benefits go nowhere. All this against the backdrop of the dramatic lack of parmesan, mussels and Polish apples, burnt trips to the Maldives and the Bahamas. Now some people’s patience will snap. And then the long-awaited second “Bolotnaya” revolution will sweep away the authoritarian regime of the hated Putin and establish the multi gender kingdom of eternal and very liberal democracy …
Reverie – one of the hallmarks of the Russian opposition (if it can be called a normal opposition, rather than a bunch of cranky losers, misfits and illegals). In the never-ending stream of interviews, articles, speeches Nemtsov, Khodorkovsky, Rabinovich, “Echo of Moscow” with boundless enthusiasm produces wishful thinking. If at least half of their predictions come true, we would have fought with sticks and stones (Einstein). Fortunately, the fifth column, apparently, far from Cagliostro in the materialization of sensible ideas.
The fall from the blue clouds of dreams of course, hurts, but it is necessary. One have to admit that our broken many times citizens are unlikely to fall into hysterics because of the euro against the ruble beautiful ratio of 1: 100. Exchange rates by themselves do not affect most of the population, and they just do not have time to significantly affect vital way of life. But to those who are directly affected by dollar, it was said many times not to panic and to sit quietly in the corner. Because the storm came quickly and will not last long.
It is useless to try to understand the events of the Russian financial market in isolation from the context of the world situation, or tying to attach them to specific aspects of the situation. The current decline of the ruble – is the culmination and the end of a long Monetary novel. Its start lies in the well-known fact: insecurity of dollar and the consequent dictatorship of the US, the need all the time to fight somewhere, including economic wars in order to maintain the printing press in working condition. Development of the plot as a soap opera, is based on the alternation of relatively well-off periods and crises, appearance of new characters and decline of old. The core of the narrative becomes a confrontation between the hero and the villain, which is gradually growing, leading to the last mortal combat.
In recent years within IMF there is increasingly growing dissatisfaction with the authoritarian policy of the USA. Financiers perfectly understand the instability of a unipolar system, but attempts to include developing countries in the game, repeatedly fail. Suddenly So Russia takes over this problem, combining, in different aspects economies of Asia, Latin America and the former Soviet Union. Thus, a new center of gravity is formed as opposition to Anglo-Saxon-European.
Progressive business elite, as opposed to not fully revitalized by injections the elders of Bilderberg, for sure, has met this initiative with glee. Doubters can take a close look at video meeting between Vladimir Putin and Christine Lagarde at the APEC summit in China and the G20 in Australia – IMF chief appeals to Russian President as to the last resort and apparently waiting for him to save the day.
However, under depending on a dollar the new conglomerates will be at risk of various types of attacks and provocations by the conservative part of the world of business. Therefore, all non-European summits raised the topic of trade in national currencies. Most likely, this issue was discussed in much more detail, and it was given much more importance than it was carried to the general public.
The fall of the ruble – a grand conclusion of the play, the final of which will be Russia’s transition to the national currency.

Part 2
Against the background of Putin’s grand tour that swept almost the entire globe, the dollar and the euro in late July began to slowly grow and jerked sharply up after the return of the Russian leader from India. The shock of the collapse of the ruble and competent description of this event by all authorized persons completely veiled few things that do not fit into the big picture “economic collapse of Russia”, “failure of aggressive policy of the Kremlin” and other slogans embedded in the west:
1. Experts from the beginning of a currency crisis stated: there is a clear contradiction between the fall of the ruble and oil prices and the lack of bankruptcies, rising unemployment, and macroeconomic statistics of Russia. This suggests that people either covered so it does not hurt them, or warned so they would not do stupid things to their own detriment.
2. Statement of speculators, that hit the national currency, is another fakie. Well, how the speculators can raise the rate more than double, especially in a country as vast as Russia? Are they all the Rothschilds? In addition, there is no trouble to evaluate them and pull by the ears after lifting the dollar at least a few points. Once this is still not done, then for some reason they are allowed to frolic. Of course, there is speculation on the market. And the collapse of the ruble – is a reason for their identification. But such a grand adventure should be performed by the players of a completely different scale, and have a global goal.
3. The Government of the Russian Federation could easily keep the growth of the national currency, as is the case in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, which are more than Russia suffered from falling oil price and more dependent on the Western intervention. Only this would require the openning of state reserves, which was apparently expected by shady overseas “consultants”. As you know, if your opponent forces you to do something, no way you should do it .
4. On the eve of the “black Tuesday” two statements were made: China and Kazakhstan have moved in the on the tenge and the yuan, and at a meeting of the SCO very seriously was said that all participating countries also need to do this as soon as possible. The active phase of the operation began.
5. It must be said that in the most wise western media, and especially the American media there was not much rejoicing over the “collapse of the Russian economy.”, Capitalists, far more experienced than our fifth column headed by Nemtsov and Navalny, sensed that something was wrong. After all, could Putin keep the dollar at a decent low? Of Course. And why did he not?
Because it is no longer needed.
When switching to another currency the question sharply raises – what to do with the former. Unclaimed, it naturally begins to depreciate rapidly. The State bears the heavy losses. How to avoid it?
Our partners, trying to unravel Putin’s actions, constantly forget that he was long time practicing judo. He knows that when the enemy is trying to overthrow you, then you need to use his efforts to ensure that he himsekf collapses. To pretend that “we are really hurt by the sanctions and falling oil price” and therefore our ruble depreciates. Along the way to warm up the dollar and euro by imput of information – say, every shot in the Ukraine and every cheapened barrel of oil added one more point to foreign currency. When all participants are ready, you can begin the last part of the show.
The fall of the ruble – a grand conclusion of the play, the final of which will be Russia’s transition to the national currency
part 3
“Rosneft” places bonds for the huge sum of 625 billion rubles. Needless to say, it was done on purpose – to suspect Igor Sechin, one of the best friends of the president, in a deliberate collapse of the national currency is really awkward. You can apply different wording – “so it was necessary.” Monday night Naibullina raises interest rates, ostensibly in response to ruble overabundance, and – voila. Jumping for joy, and to suspect the government of uncertainty, the notorious businessmen rush to buy such precious dollars and euros. Foreign currency is growing by leaps and bounds, swimming across from public to private pockets, people are at a loss, liberals rejoice and treasury replenished incredible amount of rubles.
In fact, we have witnessed a brilliant performance. If you are going to switch to the national currency, the state elegantly gets rid of extra dollar and the euro. And not taking them for a pittance, and acquiring them for large sums of money in rubles, which is about to become very needed -our partners wll have to first buy rubles to purchase our energy. The next day, of course, the dollar and euro fall. Presumably, after the partial regection of the dollar, they will fall even more. Higher interest rates are likely to have time to frightened citizens do not rush to grab to much credit “while cheap.” Because it will soon be cheaper and by much more.
And what about the dealers, buying euro for hundred rubles? I well remember a smile of Putin when he said that speculators are well known and will be punished. Someone else did not realize that just because V. Putin does not say anything in wain? Now use dollar as the wallpaper. The right to stupidity – one of the guarantees for the free development of personality (Mark Twain).
This brilliant series of operations only looks simple. In fact, such a dizzying pirouette on the tip of the needle requires, firstly, oversecret. Second, the presence of fairly good acting skills in participants of the performance. Thirdly, subtle psychological calculation. Fourth, the ability to choose the right time. Fifth, titanic preparatory work. Sixth, painstaking study of all the details. Only in this case such risky actions will be perfect.
In a new light appears Russia’s regection of “South Stream”. Why put pressure on the bearing against the EU if we do not trade for the euro? Suppose now buy from Turkey for what they want. One should figure out that to argue with Putin – a road to suicide.
It is necessary to stress once again that the transition to the national currency – a worldwide necessity. There’s no dictation of the Kremlin, personal preferences or the notorious “imperial ambitions.” It is time to forget about all subjective nonsense – the situation is too serious. If Putin offers you something – quickly lift your hands up and nod right away. Otherwise, tomorrow you will still have to agree only under much worse conditions. You will follow him, otherwise you will blame nobody but yourself.
Now imagine the position of the American hegemon after South America, Africa, China, India, Turkey … slipped from under the dollar. Nobody will ask impoverished members of former Soviet Union, they will trail this operation. Imagine a pile of useless paper dollars up to heaven, which one needs to somehow dispose of. Imagine the position of US and European companies firmly entrenched for centuries from the Russian border in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and suddenly faced with the need to exchange such a reliable, always in demand dollars and euros for some “catfish” and “bunnies”. And long will cry poor, useless dollars, and offer themselves instead of wallpaper … Such a nightmare was never dreamed up even on Elm Street …
The fall of the ruble – a grand conclusion of the play, the final of which will be Russia’s transition to the national currency.

Part 4
In martial arts there is a rule: you can not use one hit twice. Because the enemy will be ready for such an option, and the attacker will face ignominious defeat. The Soviet Union collapsed for many reasons, including using drop in oil prices. But it is impossible to enter twice in the same river. What worked with Gorbachev and Yeltsin, Does not work with Putin, if only because he knows this move.
Such games, of course, are very dangerous. But Vladimir Vladimirovich has repeatedly said that he is not interested in his ratings. And in general, one can not help feeling that this is just the beginning of some grand mystery for the reconstruction of the world. Who we are in it – leaders, participants, spectators, victims? Perhaps it depends on us too.

I guess you haven’t read “The Anglo-American Establishment” by Carroll Quigley. Toynbee was one of those guys. The best friend personally, of the worse guy in English history that we know of…along with Cecil Rhodes.
And my understanding is that Toynbee died long before 1971…maybe you meant 1871….
Your quote:
… the eminent British historian Arnold Toynbee said in 1971 that the most important event of the 20th century was the encounter of the West with Buddhism, he did not mean merely the entrance of one more world religion onto the scene. Buddhism is more than a ‘religion’ as we currently use the term, and includes a scientific vision, a multi-faceted educational system, and a resilient ethical way of life.””
Strangely enough this is exactly how I view the Tibet invasion. I don’t know about karma, but I believe that the introduction to the West of Buddhism as a technique and its possibly automatic consequence of a more ethical and civilized lifestyle is an event of major planetary importance.”
How strange it is for me to hear these words. Yes, Buddha was right for the world … before Christ. Buddha is a forerunner of Christ. And Buddhism was introduced mostly by Blavatsky. Madame Blavatsky, although Schopenhauer was a bit before. But Blavatsky introduced the East into the West in a popular form.
I don’t know how interested you are in all this, but Rudolf Steiner is a great source of insights into these topics.
Islam also misses Christ.
The world won’t be able to go forward with the Buddhist view of Karma….an endless circle from which the disciple must escape somehow….
Christianity actually also has Reincarnation in its doctrine but its hidden…John the Baptist is Elijah…
Christianity’s view of Karma is a spiral going ever upwards. Not a circle.
For more, go to the Rudolf Steiner Archives, and if you are interested please let me know.
This is very OT so I won’t elaborate, but anyone interested in a refutation of NotSoFast’s claim that “the introduction to the West of Buddhism as a technique and its possibly automatic consequence of a more ethical and civilized lifestyle is an event of major planetary importance” would do well to read The Shadow of the Dalai Lama by Victor & Victoria Trimondi.
Fortunately the hegemonic ambitions of the Tibetan Lamas (i.e., the Buddhocratic Conquest of the West) are a mere politico-religious fantasy compared with the unfortunately all-too-real hegemonic ambitions of the Anglo-German-Zionists.
Hi Saker,
Thanks for the recommendation of Michael Hudson. What a brilliant person!

“The first article I read on the restoring ruble was an extremely optimistic one by Dmitry Kalinichenko. He speaks of a “Checkmate” situation. http://orientalreview.org/2014/12/25/grandmaster-putins-trap/
Very interesting and different POV, along the lines of the http://matveychev-oleg.livejournal.com/1788612.html translated material posted here by another anonymous. At the end:
“How long will the West be able to buy oil and gas from Russia in exchange for physical gold?
And what will happen to the US petrodollar after the West runs out of physical gold to pay for Russian oil, gas and uranium, as well as to pay for Chinese goods?”
From the article, I gathered the Russians and Chinese were not demanding gold for materials, but converting the dollars paid for the materials into gold. Once the west is drained of gold to buy, the Russians and Chinese will need something else to convert their dollars into – if they continue to accept dollars in payment for exports. Before that event happens, one assumes the Russians and Chinese will have to move away from accepting dollars, at which point the “petrodollar” will start losing it’s power.
This would see Russia and China (and their Asian allies) cashing in on “the great game”, where as MacKinder implied, who that controls the resources of Asia, essentially can remain independent of western dominance and in fact turn the tables.

Interesting how India has cancelled a military contract with South Korea. This is a very strategic move by a BRICS partner and shows solidarity.

Check your recommendation and read Malaysia Airlines MH17 Article. It turns out “RussiaSlam” say it was The Separatists and Russian brought down the plane “evidences”: conversations and weblink that were faked evidences, debunked a few days after Malaysia Boeing went down.

There is also another explanation for the impressive ruble recovery, much more explosive in its geopolitical reasons. An economist noted here (in italian) http://megachip.globalist.it/Detail_News_Display?ID=113940&typeb=0&La-prima-aggressione-al-Rublo-e-gia-fallita
that the impressive rouble rebound came just after China announced that it was possible to increase the swap deal between China and Russia.
So what?
The point is that China exchange Yuan for Rouble and Dollar at almost FIXED rate (such that it is possible via Yuan to buy 1 USD for about 50 Roubles), so Russia could have bought USD via swap with 50 roubles, and bought 100 roubles back for 1 dollar at the global market.
In fact China was saying to the world: “We do not care if the markets want 100 rouble for 1 dollar: we state that the correct price is 50 roubles for 1 dollar”.
The international speculators quickly turned back, so what has happened is that for the first time in history, they do not obeyed to the FED, FMI and US Department, but they quickly obeyed to China!
The izraHELLis have invested hugely in Cuba, what is wrong with Castro? He has let them in, and all these terrorist-baby killer-psycho-demonic-scum do is work to destroy everything.
The Jews are the only people in the world who have found hostility in every country in which they settled in any numbers. The big question is – WHY?
Today it is taught in the schools that “Anti-Semitism” began in Germany in the 1930s after which they were deported. What is not studied is the fact that at one time or other the Jews have been expelled from every nation in Europe! When the Jews first began to immigrate to America the early colonialists in New York, Charleston and Savannah tried to ban their entry. Benjamin Franklin pleaded with the members of the Continental Congress to enter a specific ban against Jewish immigration into the U. S. Constitution to bar them for all time to come.
The Jews claim that they are “only” a religion. The truth is that the Jews are a RACE. Less than 30% are members of any Synagogue. Whether they are Orthodox religious, atheists, capitalists or communists – they still claim to be Jews – members of the Jewish race! Every race has inherited traits. In the case of the Jews they include trading, money-changing, usury, and a loathing for “productive labor” which is scorned as beneath the dignity of the Jews in their “bible” called “THE TALMUD.”
The Jews have not changed since the days when Jesus Christ took up a whip and drove “the money changers out of the Temple.” Jews have always united to form monopolies. Today they control all the department store chains and speciality shops along with the lucrative jewelry and animal fur trade. Jews dominate the fields of all precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum, tin, lead, etc. They will always ban together to drive Gentile competitors out of business.
Today America is being flooded with Jewish immigrants from Russia and even 20,000 per year leave Israel for the U. S. – all with dollar signs in their eyes. Jews have used their vaunted money-power to seize control of the Democratic Party and constitute over 50% of all its financial contributions. Today they are buying up more and more major U. S. companies. While only 3% of the population, the Jews control over 25% of the nation’s wealth and this percentage rises every year. They are the only racial group totally organized to work for political domination over America.
Opposition to the Jews did not begin in Germany but dates back before the birth of Christ over 2,000 years ago! Study the statements made by “The world’s greatest men.” They reveal why the “wandering Jews” have made enemies out of every host country that ever accepted them.
In the park the two keen gardeners were working. Barry dug a hole, and Petro immediately filled it in again. An amazed passer-by asked, “Why do you fill the hole in again straight away?”
Barry replied . “Usually there’s three of us, but the one who plants the trees in the holes is off sick.”

My coworker tole me once a story she heard while waiting for the CEO to get off the phone with a fund manager, the door was open so this is the gist of things she got..
The stock price was to high.. And this manager wanted to buy a lot of shares but he was hesitant even if the price would go up much higher (in retrospect it did go way way higher in a few years).. But at the time it was already up like apple and rich.. The CEO was asking the guy what price he was looking at to buy and how much he would buy at certain prices.. The CEO hung up saying well keep your powder dry and dont disappoint me.. The CEO was a big slick lawyer type that talked a great deal.. Ofcourse he made off with hundreds of millions and left others to do jail time and stuff but he did make a few people very rich.. Well she came running to me saying we need to buy some shares.. I was like well I am looking to sell the ones I had let alone trying to buy something thats gone up so much.. Well I did not sell and I was in shock to see the share price drop by about half.. It was still up many fold but to see all that gains go away was hard to stomach.. I did not really think about what she had told me until much later.. I was too depressed to not have sold when the going was good.. Ofcourse then the price stabilized and 6 months later he blew away the sales numbers and the stock reached new highs.. It was many years later I reflected on it and only the last few days seeing the ruble trade widely like this..
Has anyone wondered if Putin on purpose engineered this? The currency was under attack anyway so why not let them carry the offensive.. His ace was all the oligarchs who promised him they would move their offshore money back to Russia if Putin gave them a good deal and tax free with no questions asked..
He let those trying to flee Russia get a hair cut while his friends were able to move money back to Russia on the cheap.. He was killing birds left and right.. All the while the AZ’s thinking they were in control were actually running around in Putin’s trap.. The only ones who got hurt were those who did not believe in Putin.. The rebound especially is shocking.. I seen currencies in other countries and yes they do rebound but nothing like this and not to this extent.. The sweetheart deals for Putin’s supporters would give them huge leverage to buy cheap assets now. People are still talking about how low oil prices are destroying Russia.. Yes it does hurt but it is not lethal or long term. Russia wont be the only country hurt by low oil prices. It also means low commodity prices across the board and it is US corporations that make the most profit from high prices. Even for Oil it is US companies that see the most money.. Low Oil prices means the AZ’s lose a lot more money than Russia can even dream off..It also means a huge kick for Chinese industries as well as a stagnant Indian industrial base. And another major impact this has is something no one even thinks about. Indians buying Gold. Because of high oil prices current account balance means they were trying to stop importing so much Gold. But a lot oil price does not mean the government lowers prices at the pump.. It means more revenue for the government and it also means a lot more gold imports. Which also means what ever gold is left in the west will move out even faster..

Belligerance against Russia has as much to do with China
REL Tibet
How can anyone say Tibet was not an aggressive power. They conquered vast areas of the mainland. The Chinese never had the logistics to wage large scale war over such a vast mountainous area so always lost. But The Chinese also protected Tibet from countries like Nepal.. Even if Tibet was never part of China, they were integrated by history since even the British considered China in their discussions about Borders. Maybe if the British did not consult and required the Chinese to accept considerations regarding Tibet we can say Tibet was separate. Well if the British can use conquest and religion to separate countries (india, pakistan, bengladesh) then it would have been easy to tell the Chinese to go mind their own business. Why did Tibet ask for Chinese help against Nepal? Why did Tibet ever allow China to be part of their foreign policy?
I only bring these up because China always considered Tibet like how Russia considers Ukraine. It was a buffer against the hordes from the west. You dont see them dictating the foreign policies of Korea, Vietnam and other countries next to china. When the US started creating trouble for communist China after they defeated the KMT, there also why did the US stop supporting the KMT and pivoted to Korea? With the US now at war against China in Korea and a second front formenting in Tibet, the communists moved in because now unlike 50 years before, transport was easily available. Logistics was far easier and nothing to stop them. The policies of the US directly forced the communists to nip their left flank. If the soviets had tried in Canada what the US tried in Tibet, anyone doubt the US would not have taken over Canada? After their history.. Heck they took over most of Mexico because the Mexican sheep was encroaching into US grasslands.
Lets not forget history.. We can make things very simple when there are things there which are far deeper.. Even in India after independence there were non aligned states.. Some of them were talking about spreading the Muslim hordes again to destablise the country. Although the precedent was to allow free choice on which country to join, those inside India were not given the choice. Those states were forcefully absorbed into the country because to do other wise would have been fatal. Allow a base of operation inside your country to destabilize and create revolutions? Heck the Indians next threw out all European countries from the continent by force if they did not leave willingly.
In a lot of ways it was Tibet’s own fault for letting others walk all over them. Others only took advantage of the situation. If they had made alliances with others besides China they might still have been a country. But even there they were scared not to anger China so they did nothing. They should have realized after how the British defeated them by using underhanded tactics not to trust the west. They had options.. It still might not have worked but they might have had better leverage. Or not considering Kashmir.. The state was sold by the British to a king who signed it over to India.. But now it has become a state that can decide its fate.. Somehow a kingdom has become a state.. India also learnt.. So did China.. The US ofcourse is a pioneer in such things…
Soooooooo.. IS shot down a Jordanian jet that was bombing them? How quaint!
My source in Damascus, Monzer, is ecstatic about reports arriving that the SAAF has scored a bull’s-eye on a convoy originating in Jordan and transporting a huge amount of weapons and ammunition. According to Monzer, the weapons and ammo have now been transformed into another kind of physical substance called gaseous fumes.
This is in Al-Suwaydaa and it’s proof that what we’re telling you is true about the Southern Front. It’s a disaster for Jordan’s king and the Saudi monkeys who have placed so much hope in it. It’s not working, and now the Nusra rats are trying to outflank the SAA by using a province that is unusually hostile to them. This province is the home of Syria’s large minority of Muwahhideen or Druze. It’s been off-limits for some time out of a fear of triggering a backlash from the inhabitants who might have preferred to fence-sit rather than dive into the fray.
Good intelligence from sources which cannot be disclosed indicated that a large convoy of vans loaded with ammunition was on its way to Der’ah Province. The convoy was accompanied by 6 pickups with 23mm cannons. The convoy started up in the early hours this morning (Damascus time) and headed north, first, then, west. I do not know which airbase was ordered to respond, but, it’s almost certainly the Tha’lah base or Khalaakhil north of Suwaydaa.
The attacking jets were reportedly Sukhoi 24 (NATO designation: Fencer) and they are excellent bombers. The scene is typical of Nusra disasters with smoking vehicles and carcasses strewn all about. Some of the rats may have been able to escape the conflagration although Monzer writes they were not too many.

http://megachip.globalist.it/Detail_News_Display?ID=113940&typeb=0&La-prima-aggressione-al-Rublo-e-gia-fallita
we read at that the attack on the rouble has failed. A sure indicator, Giuseppe Masala believes, is the Western MSM silence of the last few days (leaving us to imagine, he writes, the middle classes tearing their hair out because they won’t be able to afford the latest i-pod and the poorer folks starving in the streets). Masala reports that by 24 December the rouble had appreciated 30% vs the Euro. Why? He believes China’s backing was decisive.
He points to the Russian web page:
http://info-patriot.com/novosti/politika/kitay-podal-rossii-ruku-pomoshchi.html
China’s backing destroyed the hopes of people speculating against the rouble any further. Rouble not to become rubble…. China calling the shots (worldwide?) as of December 2014??
The claim that this is a first against the speculators per sé may be an exaggeration (Malaysia?), but in terms of speed of recovery of an attacked currency this may be a record. And perhaps it’s a game changer, i.e. China directly involved in upsetting Obama’s wet dreams.

I believe we’ve a misunderstanding. As I’ve stated before I’m not a religious man. Generally speaking I have never found a deity that I could relate to but I’m very interested in religions because of the power that they have over cultures (partly good, partly bad) and because of the values that they stand for.
As to Buddhism I view it in my personal (i.e. entirely practical) light: the basic teachings do not include a creator-god and (in my interpretation) are mainly a series of recommendations to improve one’s understanding of oneself by meditation+lifestyle changes – and the subsequent additions (Theravada, Mahayana etc) mostly detract IMO from the simplicity of the basic message (no offense intended).
Why do I like this sort of message? For 2 reasons:
– Basically I feel that a large part of our current troubles derives from an insufficient understanding of our own emotions. A major problem is f. ex. that practically all humans go crazy when in positions of power (insert your favorite political/religious/business elite members here) and with our current technology they can inflict huge damage.
– To make things worse I think that the current Western approach is hypnotized by technical talents like „logic“, „IQ“ etc which completely ignore that we humans are governed not by logic but by emotion. And our ideas about ourselves (psychology, psychiatry) propose libraries full of grand theories – but the clinical successes are definitely very meager.
So an additional inward-looking technique (meditation) which has survived in Asia for 2000+ years should be more than welcome. And I could even imagine that technology could help us refine that technique (functional magnetic resonance fMRI f. ex.)
@ Ann
I have absolutely no problem with people who honestly believe and practice a religion (as long as it’s tolerant). On the contrary even – I’ve always noticed that I have good communications with those people because their approach to life seems to be more coherent. Still on a personal level I feel that you can be ethical without being religious.
As to the relationship Buddhism-Christ I see no direct relationship between them as I view Buddhism not as a religion but as a technique of meditation (pls see my anser to Serendipity for details). In a general way I have the impression that the values of Christianism and Buddhism are very close so from a religious point of view I see no problem there either.
P.S: I used the quote about Toynbee from another poster because I was interested in the statement itself – but I will freely admit that I’ve not read Toynbee myself :-)

extract:
“Not to mention that I am not really, ‘technically’ a Russian. Yes, I was born in Leningrad but almost my entire life I spent elsewhere… all over the world, to be precise. And in my veins, not that it really matters; it is also all confused… there circulates an explosive mixture of Russian, Chinese and European blood.
But lately, to be Russian, to me and to many others, is much more than just about blood. ‘I am a rebel; therefore I am Russian’, to paraphrase Albert Camus. Or: ‘I am Russian because I refuse to abandon the struggle.’”
cheers.
People tend to focus too much on the short term and lose sight of the big picture. With a very low oil price, Russia will definitely suffer. But since this imperial attack on Russia begun, Putin has signed major long term deals with the following nations:
India. Vietnam. Pakistan. Hungary. Finland. Iran. Turkey. Jordan. Argentina. I am definitely forgetting something here.
Oh, and dozens of deals with China.
From Ruble To Rubble…. And Back?
The Russian ruble has been in panicked free-fall, not unlike the oil price. Last night the Russian central bank reacted by hiking its interest rates, not in baby steps, but rather in giant strides. This was incidentally the second rate hike in just four days and the fifth this year.
The reason for this was the aforementioned panicked sell-off in the ruble. Does this move make much sense? We actually don’t think so – oil is certainly very important for Russia’s economy, but a recent study of the Russian economy (pdf) concludes that the energy industry actually contributes only 16% to total economic output in Russia. The reason why people in the West are somewhat less aware of what Russia produces is that it is exporting a lot to former Eastern Bloc satellites and former Soviet Republics. Some Russian products are also well-known and well-liked in the West though, such as e.g. Kaspersky anti-virus software (which works like a charm).
Rosneft and Foreign Debt Woes
However, a friend pinged us with the following background information:
“On Friday Russian Oil giant Rosneft issued 625 Billion Rubles in new bonds that apparently were immediately bought by the Russian CB. It’s known that Rosneft is due some big payment in USD to cover debts it incurred in buying TNK-BP. In 2013 it borrowed $55 Bln, some of it apparently short term. So on Monday the market thought that Rosneft had a big wad of Rubles ready to buy $10 Bln worth of the USD, so everyone tried to front-run it, so the Ruble collapsed.”
We can conclude from this that the ruble is not exactly the world’s most liquid currency.
Naturally Rosneft’s stock price chart doesn’t look all that great either. However, in recent weeks there has been quite heavy panic selling in the stock, the market cap of which is now at less than what it paid for its stake in TNK-BP.
Given that Rosneft will want to satisfy its foreign bondholders, it is not too far-fetched to make the connection between its need to buy dollars and the attempt of market participants to front-run it by selling the ruble.
Situations like this one very often turn out to have been great opportunities in hindsight. Readers may recall the Russian crisis of 1998 – anyone buying shares and bonds in Russia when the news and the market action were at their very worst made out like a bandit in the end (those brave enough to wade in were eventually rewarded with absolutely stunning gains in this particular case). Of course in a panic sell-off, (or its corollary, a blow-off move), being early by just a few days day can be pretty painful in the short run. Nevertheless, this is one of those times when it seems to us that opportunity beckons for those able to stand the risk. There is probably no hurry, we will certainly keep a very close eye on developments.

According to 2013 statistics, the oil and gas sector in Russia is 17.8% of GDP.
But we must underline that it makes up a disproportionate percentage of exports and of the federal budget.

Grandmaster Putin’s Trap: Russia is Selling Oil and Gas in Exchange for Physical Gold
By Dmitry Kalinichenko
Global Research, December 26, 2014
Oriental Review
I will be publishing the Michael Wilson piece tomorrow on EU: Ramshackle Empire. Thanks, Saker.
This so called recovery is actually what is called a ‘Dead Man’s Bounce’ helped by massive Russian government buying. The fundamentals have not changed and I don’t think the Russians can continue buying rubles at this rate indefinitely to support it, expect another dive.
Hudson, who I usually agree with, doesn’t seem to understand farming or manufacturing or how long it takes to change and develop either of these industries, both of which have been neglected for at least a decade in Russia.
Russia sells oil, wood and weapons to the world, besides dirty Nuke Power what else does it have to sell that others want? I doubt many people can name one Russian produced product that they can buy. It is a blessing and a curse to be a commodities rich nation as they are seeing today.
Putin’s call for ‘innovation’ is interesting because it can mean he wants Russia to develop its IT industries, which could only be competitive if the use Chinese slave labor just as the US does or he is referring to neoliberal innovation which we all know where that leads.
The Russian central bank is basically imposing capital controls but is not really admitting it. This is why the ruble has recovered so spectacularly in recent days.
I guess that you have read on the mainstream media that Russia has spent massive amounts of FX to support the ruble. This is simply more bullshit. The Russian central bank, is using repo rates to support the ruble. This money will be soon back with the Central Bank.
In fact, the ruble may have recovered too much in recent days. It would not mind at all if it readjusted a bit lower. A cheap ruble will be protecting the Russian economy from European imports. It will also be helping the relatively few exporting industries in Russia. Most crucially, it forces many foreign corporations to set up production in Russia, or else forget about the Russian market. Already some corporations are responding in this way. This mechanism will of course take time to have broad based effects, but it is definitely the right course for Russia.
I would expect Russian weapon sales to increase in the following years. Expect many enemies of the west to buy Russian weaponry that will foil the plans of the Empire. This is good both for Russia and for the world.
The oil price will recover within the next twelve to eighteen months at worse. It all depends on how long North American unconventional oil production can pretend to the world that it is not losing massive amounts of money. This development will have strengthened Russia and weakened the Empire significantly.
Yes, capitalism is an exploitative system, but the difference with China is that they have managed to use the global capitalist market to their long term advantage. This is why China has in a few short decades transformed itself from a third world backwater to an industrial and commercial colossus that can rival the US. Russia can learn a lot from the Chinese and improve the economic fields in which she is traditionally strong.
Energy extraction is and will remain the number one sector for the Russian economy. Global reserves of oil, gas and uranium are dwindling. Russia is roughly in possession of one third of those reserves. Let me also note here that Russia now has around two percent of the world’s population. This fact on its own is enough to make Russia very rich in the coming couple of decades. Russia will also focus on sectors that I have underlined earlier. Domestic industry is there to mainly serve the domestic market. There is no reason for Russia to try and compete in sectors where others have been dominating and specializing for decades if not centuries.

It’s Official: The Worldwide Bail-ins Are Coming
http://www.nestmann.com/its-official-the-worldwide-bail-ins-are-coming#.VJ2lsINAA
“…On November 16, leaders of the G20 Group of Nations – the 20 largest economies – made an important decision. The world’s megabanks now have official permission to pledge depositor accounts as collateral to make leveraged derivative bets. And if they lose a bet, the counterparty to the contract has first dibs on your money.
The governments of these 20 countries are now supposed to put these arrangements into law. Most, including the US, have already done so.
But this proposal profoundly changes the rules for banking globally, and not in a good way. Deposits in banks that are “too big to fail” will be “promptly recapitalized” with their “unsecured debt.” This avoids those nasty taxpayer-funded bailouts that proved so politically unpopular during the 2008-2009 financial crisis.
And the largest chunk of unsecured debt is your bank deposits. Insolvent banks will recapitalize themselves by converting your deposits – checking accounts, but also money market accounts and CDs – into stock.
Thus, when you deposit money in a bank, you’re taking the same risk as someone buying a stock. Or, for that matter, betting on a horse named “Falling Star” at the local racetrack. Because, in effect, that’s what banks are doing with your money…”
Summarized:
“Get your assets out of the “too big to fail” banks – now. It’s only a matter of time before the SHTF.”
Should be done anyway, for reason of ethics, those banks are run by gangsters, literally, who should have been converted to lamppost decorations years ago.

Excellent material in this thread about the Ruble caper – and it does begin to look slightly more like a “caper” now than a “crisis”.
It’s easy to say after an event that it was always planned that way, and there’s no doubt that secrecy and conspiracy are necessary when it comes to money and currency exchange moves. So we’ve seen commentary arise at each stage of the event, trying to make sense of things. Now we see the possible advance planning hinted at.
First we saw the Rosneft factor come into play, then Mercouris theorized that Russia had agreed with its corporations to support their debt rollovers for the new year in Rubles so they wouldn’t have to use their own Dollar reserves – we heard Putin himself talk about his phone conversations with some of these CEOs, and how loudly they were complaining. He was very ironic about it.
Then we saw the rate hike, which was the first intervention by the central bank. Then came China’s formal announcement that support for the Ruble in Yuan was only a phone call away for Russia.
Now we see some of the picture that shows, yes it could have been engineered from the beginning. I think it’s more likely that the Russian team saw the oil price being pushed down, already had the Ruble on free float, and was glad to watch the Ruble fall towards the projected real value of 45-48:1. This where it should be according to Russian formal analysis. The team saw that Russia maintained revenues throughout, and only intervened to help Russia’s own corporations.
Concurrent with the call to repatriate offshore capital back home with no questions asked, and the opportunity to buy cheap Rubles, it does show a remarkable elegance if you happened to make all the right moves through that situation.
1. Can anyone point us to the way to find out who actually HAS bought Rubles and taken advantage of this dip in exchange value?
2. Is there a simple chart or article that shows us the trade of Ruble to Yuan at 50:1?
I’m just a little ignorant and don’t quite know where to look for these things.
I like the concept that Russia could have swapped Rubles for Yuan at 50:1, and bought Dollars 1:1 with the Yuan, effectively pegging the Ruble at 50:1 to the Dollar, regardless of the western indexes.
Thanks to commenters up-thread for that information. I’d love to see more.
By the way, I personally don’t really accept the concept that the oil price drop is caused by lack of demand, although lack of demand is the true condition of the global stagnation the West is in right now. It’s always been simple enough to adjust supply to match demand and keep the price where the producing nations want it. Saudi is dumping, and it’s either deliberate or they physically can’t shut production down, as the Wayne Madsen story about the CIA fracking claims. If so, I don’t fully understand why they can’t shut in other fields, surely not all production would be affected by the fracking? William Engdahl champions Madsen as a reliable reporter, but says he can’t confirm the fracking thing. So it’s still a mystery. What is clear is that Russia’s not dropping production either. It seems that no one is prepared to bring the price back up yet, and agreement between OPEC seems to be dead for the moment.
Sorry for zero links for any of what I wrote, I can backfill if anyone wants.
Very interesting points being made there, but very hard to verify.
As for the oil price.
I genuinely believe that there is no conspiracy behind that. There seems to be a global oil glut at the moment. We have keep in mind that oil production in North America has increased astonishingly in the past six years or so. The increase is to the tune of around seven million barrels of oil per day. That is more or less around eight percent of global oil production. Concurrently, production has increased somewhat in Iraq, Russia, offshore Africa. That’s about it.
Concurrently, the demand for oil has also risen on a global scale. But not by as much as the supply. I have to stress here that the price of oil is highly elastic. In other words, even a small imbalance in either direction is enough to send the price either soaring or collapsing, obviously depending if demand outstrips supply or vice versa.
In other words, even a partial collapse of the North American unconventional oil production, will be more than enough to send the price of a barrel of oil absolutely rocketing. This development will also have a very negative effect on
theUS trade deficit, the value of the dollar, as well as Western financial markets.
Putin, the Chinese and their respective advisors are fully aware of this (I am certain) and for this reason they are being extremely patient with the provocations of the Empire.
@ Serendipity at 23:39 yesterday – I looked at the link you supplied to the “Buddhocratic Conquest of the West”. Fortunately it covers a few things that I’ve encountered in my own experience that I know are wrong. It’s a very weird spin on Buddhism, and I don’t have the power to deconstruct it at this time. But I can see clearly that the authors of the book do not have experience of the meditation techniques they discuss. It’s almost impossible to discuss these things of the mind without the simple personal experience that anyone can get. Without the personal experience, they therefore take the figurative for the literal, which is a huge misreading of Buddhist teachings, one that I find personally is very common.
As to their sense of the controlling hierarchies with regard to Tibet and/or Buddhism in general, I can’t argue against that or really speak to that at the moment. I have a lot of research to do, and I’m not in a hurry. But the way the authors are completely wrong in understanding the essence of Buddhism makes me think they may also be seeing things through too dark a lens in all of their assumptions.
I’ll simply offer that perspective to you so that you may know, in case you should choose to explore further, with other sources.
Some comedic relief:
turns out that the only hilarity to be found is in the savaging reviews of that dog of a movie with all the scripted publicity put out by sony.
has to say something when they’re rating rogen’s comedic talents right up there with the silver screen legends sandler & farell LOL.

Sony uses desperate schemes because their company is in the brink of collapse. How are their Vaio and television sales lately? Anyway, I stopped watching the trailer in less than 15 seconds because actors were so corny. This is another bad choice for James Franco’s career. This movie is a rip off of Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd – Spies Like Us.

Yet more proof of the coming bust in the North American oil patch. As I have been arguing all along, the main reason (but not the sole one by any stretch) for the Empire’s latest attack on Russia is the situation in the global oil market. In very simple terms, the oil producing areas under Western control are in various degrees of exhaustion. First and foremost are the US shale plays. On top of that you can also add the fact that Canadian tar sands are very expensive to produce in. We must also consider that North Sea oil is also on a downward tendency and quite expensive to boot. The same applies to Norway’s offshore production. It is also a similar story with the giant Dutch gas field in groningen.
I can go on and on, but the point here is that Russia will soon be at a colossal advantage vis a vis the west. This is what explains their panic, brutality and belligerence.
This is a weepy article published by the presstitudes at Bloomberg.
They are basically shedding tears because China now has A LOT OF MONEY. On top of that, China is using that money to help countries that they were preparing to loot yet again.

That is a very brief and very precise description of what is actually going on.
It’s mind boggling how European citizenry don’t seem to get this very simple reality.
I am guessing they are too busy worrying about football, reality shows, their love lives and of course paying the bills.
That is understandable to a certain extent. But it’s high time they wake up.
“I am guessing they are too busy worrying about football, reality shows, their love lives and of course paying the bills”.
And immigrants. Thats the latest distraction being used by the political “elite” to divert peoples attention away from what is really going on and take the blame for years of corruption and theft of public wealth by these same “elites”.
Europe is now awash with anti immigrant and anti foreigner sentiments, kind of like when the jews took the blame for all the ills of Hitlers Germany and we all know how that ended up.

Didnt get your Christmas presents? Here’s why:
According to local reports, the sleigh was beginning its annual Christmas Eve journey around the world when it was struck by a surface-to-air missile fired from the Russian island of Novaya Zemlya, just a few hundred miles from the North Pole. Santa and nearly all of his reindeer were killed instantly.
Norwegian fisherman soon located the debris field in the frigid waters of the Arctic Ocean. Images of the debris aired on CNN and other international news networks show broken limbs, teddy bears, and gift wrapping strewn throughout the sea.

Ukraine is where the USD and NATO went to die.
The USD world changes on Monday, 29 December 2014
The end result of those sanctions on Russia, implemented by the coup in Kiev.
Consider this very profound announcement – the last pillar to be installed:
China To Launch Yuan Swap Trading With Russian Rubles On Monday
In order to fully backstop Russia away from a SWIFT-world in which the dollar reigns supreme, one extra step was necessary: the launching of direct FX trade involving the Russian and Chinese currencies, either spot or forward – a move away from purely theoretical bilateral FX trade agreements – which would not only enable and make direct currency trading more efficient by sidestepping the dollar entirely, but also allow Russian companies to budget in Chinese Yuan terms. It is no surprise then that this is precisely the missing step that was announced overnight, and will be implemented starting Monday.

The Saudis are using secondary saltwater injection on some of their fields which is not fracking nor is it related to fracking. Many mature oil fields rely on secondary recovery technics such as water injection, co2 injection and natgas injection.
It is true that they can’t just shut down production in these fields without affecting future production but their real concern is market share which they would lose if they reduced production now.
I don’t think the Saudis increased production very much earlier, maybe 100,000 BBL/D but that may have been enough with discounting to affect the markets.
60 Prominent Germans Appeal Against Another War In Europe: “It Is Not About Putin. What Is At Stake Is Europe”
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/26/2014 – 15:22
Two weeks ago, as the S&P was preparing to surge on the latest round of all time high market-goosing algo trickery by the FOMC, 60 prominent German personalities from the realms of politics, economics, culture and the media were less concerned with blinking red and green stock quotes and were focused on something far more serious to the future of the world: the threat of war with Russia. In a letter published by Die Zeit, numerous famous and respected Germans including a former president and former prime minister write “Wieder Krieg in Europa? Nicht in unserem Namen!”, or, roughly translated, “War in Europe Again? Not in Our Names!” As the signatories note: “It is not about Putin. Heads of state come and go. What is at stake is Europe.”

The US still has to import about 7.4 MMB/D of crude oil but we do export some petroleum products.
Tight oil drilling, oil that has to be fracked was already starting to level out but the projections for next year is for a 500,000 Barrel per day increase in production. The cost of drilling these wells has fallen over time so I doubt there will be a total collapse in the production of this strategic resource but it will slow. The oil will continue to flow since it is liquid not elastic like the price.
What will probably happen is that the smaller or overleveraged companies will be swallowed up by the bigger fish who have the reserves to weather the fluctuations in price.
At current prices, shale production will be massacred. That is with WTI at around 55 per barrel.
The shale producers were losing serious money even with the price at 100. That was partly due to expanding investment, but that is essential for frackers since the decline rates are horrendous. If drilling merely slows down significantly, then production will begin collapsing within weeks.
Like I said, with current prices, you can forget about any kind of predictions. In fact American oilmen are still hoping for either OPEC to blink, or some major producer around the world to fall into political and social upheaval (hence leading to disrupted oil production) or even for a colour revolution in Moscow!
It is in fact right that the cost of drilling has indeed fallen (in fact the main reason for this is that there are more wells being drilled per rig) but the business is still fundamentally unprofitable and relies on junk bond issuance etc.
What is also very important is that the sweet spots of some shale plays seem to have been exhausted. There is already overwhelming evidence of this in the Bakken. In simple terms, no matter what technology is used or what method, the cost of a barrel of oil will still be rising.
I have already provided several links concerning both the costs and the exhaustion of the sweet spots on this blog. I can readily provide them for you if you wish.
Vladimir Putin calls for a multipolar world. The Bank For International Settlements(BIS) has been talking about a multipolar world in its press releases. Do Putin and BIS multipolarity have the same meaning?
BIS is certainly not a multipolar organization, but coordinates the activities of the world central banks including the Central Bank of Russia and the People’s Bank of China. It is the central bank of central banks! Is “multipolarity” a magician’s narrative retiring the old hag(USD) with a new princess(SDR)? Who is the villain and who is the hero in this great traveling circus?
Is the magician’s narrative what the petrodollar’s godfather Henry Kissinger chats about with his friend Vladimir Putin?
This is, in my opinion, Russian’s answer to H.Res.758 [1] – [House of Representatives passes resolution against Russia (2)] …
Russia’s new military doctrine lists NATO, US as major foreign threats
“The new doctrine was approved on Friday by President Vladimir Putin. Its core remains unchanged from the previous version. The Russian military remains a defensive tool which the country pledges to use only as a last resort.
Also unchanged are the principles of the use of nuclear weapons which Russia adheres to. Their primary goal is to deter potential enemies from attacking Russia, but it would use them to protect itself from a military attack – either nuclear or conventional – threatening its existence. […]”
“The doctrine lists among major foreign military threats “the creation and deployment of global strategic antiballistic missile systems that undermines the established global stability and balance of power in nuclear missile capabilities, the implementation of the ‘prompt strike’ concept, intent to deploy weapons in space and deployment of strategic conventional precision weapons […]”
“The document also points to the threat of destabilization countries bordering Russia or its allies and deployment of foreign troops such nations as a threat to national security.
Domestically, Russia faces threats of “actions aimed at violent change of the Russian constitutional order, destabilization of the political and social environment, disorganization of the functioning of governmental bodies, crucial civilian and military facilities and informational infrastructure of Russia,” the doctrine says.
Moscow sees international cooperation with countries sharing its effort to increase security, particularly members of BRICS, the OSCE, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and others as the key to preventing military conflicts, the doctrine states […]”

@StavrosH at 00:49 – You said it’s hard to verify some of the things being said here, and you’re right, there are too many claims without links – mea culpa my own bad self. I will try to offer some links. Oil first. As you say, the oil price is elastic. This is the very reason OPEC exists – to manipulate the oil price. Adjusting the supply of oil is as simple as turning a valve. The price follows. And the price is set to whatever the market and its militaries and geo-political agendas can bear. That’s the equation, and it says that not only is there a conspiracy to create the price of oil today, but that the price of oil has always been arranged by negotiation between powers. People who need oil (everyone) will pay whatever is demanded, until the cost of conquering the one asking becomes lower than the price asked.
As to supply, there is no doubt the Saudis are dumping. The many questions from this demonstrated fact all fall under the main heading: Why?
Wayne Madsen says this:
How the CIA Launched the “Financial Pearl Harbor” Attacks on Russia and Venezuela
And about that, William Engdahl says this:
CIA : Fracking Saudi Arabia to Bring Down Russia and Venezuela
To me it’s still an unknown about the Why, but I hope the What has been established long since – you can find articles to prove this as well as I can, but they will have been written several weeks ago. In fact, here’s Engdahl again in late October:
The Secret Stupid Saudi-US Deal on Syria
First paragraph says:
“The details are emerging of a new secret and quite stupid Saudi-US deal on Syria and the so-called IS. It involves oil and gas control of the entire region and the weakening of Russia and Iran by Saudi Arabian flooding the world market with cheap oil. Details were concluded in the September meeting by US Secretary of State John Kerry and the Saudi King. The unintended consequence will be to push Russia even faster to turn east to China and Eurasia.”
I will try to provide links to the Ruble things I’ve offered but it may be tomorrow before that happens – and by then Saker may have a whole sheet of news for us, but I’ll post here in this thread.
The reason why this alleged conspiracy between the Saudis and the US to bring the price of oil down seems unlikely to me is very simple.
With a low oil price, the frackers will soon be bust. This will only benefit Russia a few months, or maybe a year down the line. Moreover, the Western oil majors will also suffer significantly since their overall production is more marginal than Russia’s. In fact, Saudi Arabia is probably the only producer on the planet that is more cost effective than Russia. In other words, many, many other players in the global oil market will perish long before Russia. Of course Russia is under a sanctions regime, but with China also fully aware of the situation and therefore ready to step in, then this strategy is stupid for anyone willing to pursue it.
For me, this stance by the Saudis as well as some other OPEC members is a clear as daylight effort to push shale down the cliff as well as other marginal producers. Canadian sands, Brazilian offshore as well as African offshore.
