It took one minute for President Trump to introduce a virus at the virtual 75th UN General Assembly, blasting “the nation which unleashed this plague onto the world”.
And then it all went downhill.
Even as Trump was essentially delivering a campaign speech and could not care less about the multilateral UN, at least the picture was clear enough for all the socially distant “international community” to see.
Here is President Xi’s full statement. And here is President Putin’s full statement. And here’s the geopolitical chessboard, once again; it’s the “indispensable nation” versus the Russia-China strategic partnership.
As he stressed the importance of the UN, Xi could not be more explicit that no nation has the right to control the destiny of others: “Even less should one be allowed to do whatever it likes and be the hegemon, bully, or boss of the world .”
The US ruling class obviously won’t take this act of defiance lying down. The full spectrum of Hybrid War techniques will continue to be relentlessly turbo-charged against China, coupled with rampant Sinophobia, even as it dawns on many Dr. Strangelove quarters that the only way to really “deter” China would be Hot War.
Alas, the Pentagon is overstretched – Syria, Iran, Venezuela, South China Sea. And every analyst knows about China’s cyber warfare capabilities, integrated aerial defense systems, and carrier-killer Dongfeng missiles.
For perspective, it’s always very instructive to compare military expenditure. Last year, China spent $261 billion while the US spent $732 billion (38% of the global total).
Rhetoric, at least for the moment, prevails. The key talking point, incessantly hammered, is always about China as an existential threat to the “free world”, even as the myriad declinations of what was once Obama’s “pivot to Asia” not so subtly accrue the manufacture of consent for a future war.
This report by the Qiao Collective neatly identifies the process: “We call it Sinophobia, Inc. – an information industrial complex where Western state funding, billion dollar weapons manufacturers, and right-wing think tanks coalesce and operate in sync to flood the media with messages that China is public enemy number one. Armed with state funding and weapons industry sponsors, this handful of influential think tanks are setting the terms of the New Cold War on China. The same media ecosystem that greased the wheels of perpetual war towards disastrous intervention in the Middle East is now busy manufacturing consent for conflict with China.”
That “US military edge”
The demonization of China, infused with blatant racism and rabid anti-communism, is displayed across a full, multicolored palette: Hong Kong, Xinjiang (“concentration camps), Tibet (“forced labor”), Taiwan, “China virus”; the Belt and Road’s “debt trap”.
The trade war runs in parallel – glaring evidence of how “socialism with Chinese characteristics” is beating Western capitalism at its own high-tech game. Thus the sanctioning of over 150 companies that manufacture chips for Huawei and ZTE, or the attempt to ruin TikTok’s business in the US (“But you can’t rob it and turn it into a US baby”, as Global Times editor-in-chief Hu Xijin tweeted).
Still, SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation), China’s top chip company, which recently profited from a $7.5 billion IPO in Shanghai, sooner or later may jump ahead of US chip manufacturers.
On the military front, “maximum pressure” on China’s eastern rim proceeds unabated – from the revival of the Quad to a scramble to boost the Indo-Pacific strategy.
Think Tankland is essential in coordinating the whole process, via for instance the Center for Strategic & International Studies, with “corporation and trade association donors” featuring usual suspects such as Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, General Dynamics and Northrop Grumman.
So here we have what Ray McGovern brilliantly describes as MICIMATT – the Military-Industrial-Congressional-Intelligence-Media-Academia-Think-Tank complex – as the comptrollers of Sinophobia Inc.
Assuming there would be a Dem victory in November, nothing will change. The next Pentagon head will probably be Michele Flournoy, former Undersecretary of Defense for Policy (2009-2012) and co-founder of the Center for a New American Security, which is big on both the “China challenge” and the “North Korean threat”. Flournoy is all about boosting the “U.S. military’s edge” in Asia.
So what is China doing?
China’s top foreign policy principle is to advance a “community of shared future for mankind”. That is written in the constitution, and implies that Cold War 2.0 is an imposition from foreign actors.
China’s top three priorities post-Covid-19 are to finally eradicate poverty; solidify the vast domestic market; and be back in full force to trade/investment across the Global South.
China’s “existential threat” is also symbolized by the drive to implement a non-Western trade and investment system, including everything from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and the Silk Road Fund to trade bypassing the US dollar.
A Harvard Kennedy School report at least tried to understand how Chinese “authoritarian resilience” appeals domestically. The report found out that the CCP actually benefitted from increased popular support from 2003 to 2016, reaching an astonishing 93%, essentially due to social welfare programs and the battle against corruption.
By contrast, when we have a MICCIMAT investing in Perpetual War – or “Long War” (Pentagon terminology since 2001) – instead of health, education and infrastructure upgrading, what’s left is a classic wag the dog. Sinophobia is perfect to blame the abysmal response to Covid-19, the extinction of small businesses and the looming New Great Depression on the Chinese “existential threat”.
The whole process has nothing to do with “moral defeat” and complaining that “we risk losing the competition and endangering the world”.
The world is not “endangered” because at least vast swathes of the Global South are fully aware that the much-ballyhooed “rules-based international order” is nothing but a quite appealing euphemism for Pax Americana – or Exceptionalism. What was designed by Washington for post-WWII, the Cold War and the “unilateral moment” does not apply anymore.
Bye, bye Mackinder
As President Putin has made it very clear over and over again, the US is no longer “agreement capable” . As for the “rules-based international order”, at best is a euphemism for privately controlled financial capitalism on a global scale.
The Russia-China strategic partnership has made it very clear, over and over again, that against NATO and Quad expansion their project hinges on Eurasia-wide trade, development and diplomatic integration.
Unlike the case from the 16th century to the last decades of the 20th century, now the initiative is not coming from the West, but from East Asia (that’s the beauty of “initiative” incorporated to the BRI acronym).
Enter continental corridors and axes of development traversing Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Indian Ocean, Southwest Asia and Russia all the way to Europe, coupled with a Maritime Silk Road across the South Asian rimland.
For the very first time in its millenary history, China is able to match ultra-dynamic political and economic expansion both overland and across the seas. This reaches way beyond the short era of the Zheng He maritime expeditions during the Ming dynasty in the early 15th century.
No wonder the West, and especially the Hegemon, simply cannot comprehend the geopolitical enormity of it all. And that’s why we have so much Sinophobia, so many Hybrid War techniques deployed to snuff out the “threat”.
Eurasia, in the recent past, was either a Western colony, or a Soviet domain. Now, it stands on the verge of finally getting rid of Mackinder, Mahan and Spykman scenarios, as the heartland and the rimland progressively and inexorably integrate, on their own terms, all the way to the middle of the 21st century.
Excellent post. And it instantly brings up Matthew Ehret’s judicious question ”Is America worth saving?”. I think not. The place stinks of bad faith, megalomania, and — of course — a non-agreement capable collective mindset.
According to gods plan it is worth saving for about 60 self sufficient people to pick up the remains and attempt to advance the evolutionary process of the human being.
In order to understand where the human race is going, one must understand just where it came from.
Then, obviously, those 60 people would be only native americans.
Wrong, it would actually have to be people who live well into their 100’s of years, Indians not only could not be civilized, they also only were plains Indians, the east coast was heavily populated with bobcats who were turned into historical Indians for the purpose of fooling Americans when it came to writing history. God works in strange ways.
When Matthew Ehret framed the question, I believe, he talked about America in the context of the world at the time when the world was looking for a “land of Enlightenment”. Thus when America, i.e. the United States, was composed, the face, or should we say “the mask” that was put upon the newly created country was the face of a Land of Enlightenment, and hence the American Ideal. So this American ideal is not just something created by the U.S.A. for the U.S.A., but something for the whole world created by the world, and this ideal is something I believe we as a world would want to have around; today more than ever. It is sad that the very country that adorned this mask, is the very country that is ripping it off, and throwing it into the dumpster.
One can come to see that “America” is a world thing. That is probably why the world has interest in America, though I admit that interest is quickly waning because of the antics of the U.S. government. Nevertheless, as the world is a stakeholder in the American Ideal, it only makes sense for the world to have their say, and provide their input to U.S. elections so that voting U.S. citizens can make informed decisions in the voting booth, (or by mail.) Sure, the entrenched politicians will call that meddling, as they lack control of news and opinion outside the main stream press, but I call that a service on the part of the rest of the world in keeping the American people informed.
Thank You Saker, and all those other media outlets operating outside the Main Stream Press. Your service to this country, the U.S.A., is most appreciated.
”Xinjiang (’concentration camps’), Tibet (’forced labor’), Taiwan, ’China virus’; the Belt and Road’s ’debt trap’ ”
I find it extremely hard not to be moved by the Zionazis’ concern about the well-being of others. The above list can be continued with ’colonization and plunder of Africa’, 5G ’all-out, unrestrained surveillance/spying’, and so on.
The Zionazis should be sentenced to forced labor in Tibet. Should cool them down a bit, methinks.
Forcing them on Tibet is not very nice, free labour or not. Send them home, let the locals figure it out……………or Siberia……..free land out on the Frontier I hear. Then, build a really big wall (Don’l will chip in, he like walls), make it well over 6′, wait 8′, they might stand on each others backs, hmm………….razor wire will fix that.
Cheers, M
“The Zionazis should be sentenced to forced labor in Tibet. ”
Nah! would they could be sent to Guantanamo, to be taught the real meaning of “Human Rights and Demarcracy”!
Both the USA and China are Globalist Power Nodes, with a globalist plan to replace the USA, with China as the new center. The globalist deep state in the USA (mainly spearheaded by the Democratic side but also RHINO, deep state Republicans) does what it can to protect Chinese Interests, like Wechat, Tik Tok, etc. They hate Christian Russia, but adore Godless Communist Totalitarian Technocratic China. It is their model for the future that they wish to implement, as the ruling 1%
Undeniably, the virus narrative came from China on behest of the Globalists. Isn’t it strange that this virus narrative did not spread to Shanghai, and Shenzhen, yet freely spread to the rest of the world? Also the homeless in the west would be the first to suffer mass casualties from this “virus pandemic” but it never happened and will not happen.
The choice is not China or the USA, no matter how much some internet propagandists push for this. The answer is: none of the above. Death to Globalism.
Youve confused ‘globalism’ and ‘globalization’ (as is often done in the media)
The US does globalism: the domination by one country of all other countries
China does globalization: trade with all other countries for mutual benefit. Recall that having lifted ~850million people out of poverty in the last 40 – 50 years (compare India), China will now go on and do that for the rest of Afro-Eurasia by buying their raw materials and creating markets for Chinese consumer products
See: Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)
And (if one believes in Climate Science) China has even declared it will be Carbon Neutral by 2060 – something the US hasnt done!!!
If what you said is true – thered be no hope whatsoever of a sustainable economic development model for humanity
Regards
Globalists decided on the “globalization” program to seed know-how and manufacturing factories to Communist Totalitarian China, with Kissinger and Nixon’s first trips to China in 1972.
There is much hope for humanity, without relying on a USA or China Globalist Savior who intend to “globalize” the world. Those who advocate “globalization” should be asked why the first thing to do is not establishing a global wage and work standard, a global minimum wage, along with uniform global pollution standards? Instead it is a scheme for global slavery where the work slaves don’t have to be imported any longer, only the goods they produce are.
Countries are much like a nuclear family’s household, where economic nationalism, passive isolationism or non-interventionism, are key pillars, and come first. Protectionism is part of that equation.
In order to swing the pendulum back to benefit a country’s majority, usury, lobbying governments and political parties has to be forbidden, the penalty being death or hard labour.

Those who advocate “globalization” should be asked why the first thing to do is not establishing a global wage and work standard, a global minimum wage, along with uniform global pollution standards?
Bingo! Sure like to hear that question discussed in some hoity-toity Harvard Business School forum. Talk about some uncomfortable hemming and hawing. Of course they’d bury it in pseudo-academic B-School bullshit – that’s just what they do – but I’m surprised that more people who actually work for a living aren’t asking it insistently everyday, such as… ahem… prospective voters in the upcoming US non-election between two globalist pawns.
Tyson B says:
‘Youve confused ‘globalism’ and ‘globalization’ (as is often done in the media)
The US does globalism: the domination by one country of all other countries’
Very good distinction.
But I would say it slightly differently.
The U.S. (under Trump) does ‘colonialism’ i.e. the domination by one country of other countries.
The ‘Globalists’ do ‘globalism’, the domination of all countries by ruling elites using global institutions. (This has an advantage over colonialism in that you don’t need to share the spoils with the colonizing country’s (i.e. the U.S.) population.
Rostislav says: “Isn’t it strange that this virus narrative did not spread to Shanghai, and Shenzhen, yet freely spread to the rest of the world?”
I find it strange that some people would think this is strange. China applied decisive actions to lockdown Wuhan, scientific methods and medical deployments to contain and treat the virus, strict social implementations to isolate the infected, strong political and professional leadership, optimized resources allocations and personnel mobilization, logical national balancing of economic vs health priorities, … etc.
Most of the rest of the world did only a fractions of what China did. So what do you expect the results?
It’s strange precisely because it’s only a virus pandemic narrative, launched out of Globalist China.
Yes, a virus narrative, but probably not a virus pandemic. Perhaps China has sold the rest of the world a virus fairy tale and the greedy western nations have swallowed it whole. If this were so, it would be nothing more than deserved retribution.
The choice is not China or the USA, no matter how much some internet propagandists push for this. The answer is: none of the above. Death to Globalism.
You might very well be onto something here. I’m increasingly persuaded by this argument of late. Let the US punch itself out on a Globalist created Chinese straw man while the Globalists prepare to make the economic jump to the far east and completely isolate and neutralize Russia in the process. That would explain a lot, actually.
Thank you! In this sea of insanity some people still make sense. Too many have become so blinded by indiscriminate hate, they are contend to swallow any atrocity or crime if it serves their world view. China or the CCP is not your salvation, as Russia isn’t. They are power poles with their very own short falls. In the case of China, every neutral observer has to be honest and see that their policies like the genocide of Uighurs cannot be accepted by any decent human being. I do not talk to you post modernist, who deny any ethical principle.
I’m an atheist and I honestly despise religious teachings, which deny reality or or the ability for human’s freedom of consciousness (without severe punishment or disadvantage) like f.e. Islam which only offers “dhimni-hood” or death for all non believers, but I also will not tolerate crimes against Muslims either.
Therefore, you can be against the disgusting, murderous zio-us-empire, against the Russian oligarchic system and against the murderous CCP etc.
It’s never either or; if you zoom into the US you will find different peoples, which have no power to decide its foreign policy, like latins, afros and so on. Still they are enjoying the spoils of the empire’s crimes through its infrastructure, resources and so on. As it also goes for China.
….like f.e. Islam which only offers “dhimni-hood” or death for all non believers, but I also will not tolerate crimes against Muslims either.
Dhimmi:
“Non-Muslim under protection of Muslim law. A covenant of protection was made with conquered “Peoples of the Book,” which included Jews, Christians, Sabaeans, and sometimes Zoroastrians and Hindus. Adult male dhimmis were required to pay a tax on their income and sometimes on their land. Restrictions and regulations in dress, occupation, and residence were often applied.”
“In return, Islam offered dhimmis security of life and property, defense against enemies, communal self-government, and freedom of religious practice. In the modern period, dhimmi status has declined in importance as a result of the formation of nation-states and Western or quasi-Western legal codes.”
http://www.oxfordislamicstudies.com/article/opr/t125/e536
——
Dhimmis were protected people.
Dhimmis paid the ‘jizya’ tax, Muslims paid ‘zakat’ to the state treasury. Muslims were required to fight in war, Dhimmis were exempted from military service.
Considering the attitudes of people at the time of “dhimmi-hood’s” existence, it wasn’t that bad an arrangement. I also hear lots of non-Muslims live in Wahhabi Saudi. Not heard of their being killed for not becoming Muslim. Ditch the twaddle about Islam, mate.
I remember reading that when North Africa was conquered by the Muslims, the natives couldn’t afford to pay the jizya tax, so the commander had them sell their wives and children into slavery so they could pay.
“the genocide of Uyghurs cannot be accepted by any decent human being” are Western MSM talking points.
The Uyghurs have been radicalized and the Chinese are perfectly entitled to defend themselves against radicalized Islamic terrorists on their own soil – as does every other country.
The citizens of every country expect their government to keep them physically safe.
What started the Chinese government’s deradicalization program (what the West calls Re-education camps) was Uyghur Muslims stabbing people on the streets
This idea you have from Western MSM that China is like the US and wanst ti rule the world is fallacious.
China wants to trade with the world – and does *not interfere with other countries’ domestic politics.
The US on the other hand has conducted 69 overt /covert foreign interventions from WWII-end to 2010 for mostly imperial motives – affecting 1/3 of all UN member states!
See William Blum’s ‘Killing Hope: US Military and CIA Interventions since World War II’ who prosecutes the case against them.
220px-Killing_Hope.jpg
That being said, the big difference between China & the US is that China will never allow a billionaire class with allegiance to a foreign country to insert themselves above political authority – as the US has.
You:”China or the CCP is not your salvation, as Russia isn’t.”
So you’re critical of two other countries systems of governance — but fail to articulate a better / more acceptable system?
Newsflash: Every country has a short falls of one kind or another.
Regards
Youve allowed yourself to be brainwashed by propaganda
Now, for all those, how should I put it, Chinese cheerleaders, I present to you a Russian’s report of Xinjang and the Uighur situation. It’s in Russian, this time you cannot excuse it for American propaganda:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDZcWsm6X9o
Oh yes, I can. And I’ll give you a few hints as to how to do some homework on this issue.
Go and listen to 10 other propaganda pieces – all languages. You will find that every accusation is the same – there is no creativity there to even change the accusations. Then, go and take one of those accusations and work hard to follow it through. For example, ‘they disappear when they come out of the camps’. No, they don’t disappear. They frequently get moved or resettled to a place where there is need for the skills that they’ve learned. Then, go and take you accusation and go and see how China investigated it, and you will find much material where they followed through each instance of ‘pretend disappearance’ for example, and found the supposed disappeared. Some disappeared – the ones that were plotting against the state. A perfect system? I don’t think so. But, there is no more horrible violence in the streets and the area is flourishing economically.
And then, the first clue that this is clear propaganda of course is that the interviewees agreed to be interviewed on Skype. I really laughed at that one. Go and see if Skype is used, or even reliable in Xinjang or China as a whole. Its not one of the blocked apps, but certainly nobody uses it because Skype is the leakiest app out there today and the great Microsoft sucks up every word. If I was at all fearful, the very last app I would use would be Skype. I would question if any of those interviewed are actually in Xinjang.
And then all the breathless reporting of all the surveillance … when last has this fellow been to London for example?
Talking about believing something because the video is in Russian? Oh boy, how can one say this without running foul of the mods. There is another Russian whose name is Navalnyi. Should we believe him because he is Russian? Of course not. Then, there is another Russian who recently passed away – André Vltchek – who reported that the stories out of Xinjang are false. He reported in June/July that he was busy then collating his material after extended visit, and in September he was dead. Then there is this English couple that traveled the area on bicycles for extended time periods. They could travel, investigate and report back. Then there is the 50+ Muslim countries that went to investigate – they reported that there is no suppression of the religion and they could freely investigate.
But you want me to believe this Russian? Homework is necessary on this issue. The Chinese are accused of cultural genocide, i.e., they are not killing the The Uyghurs, but they stand accused of killing the culture.
So, now, if you see cultural festivals, cultural food on the streets and people walking around in cultural clothing, well, then you start wondering if this is not just yet another accusation to further the war on China. Then, if you go and deeply research, you find that that indeed, its just another accusation made up of 4 to 6 smaller accusations, repeated in every piece of propaganda. I must have heard the ‘poor student that does not want to complete his studies because then if he got his diploma he could not call his parents to celebrate’ 15 times. The second one of course is ‘the poor women that was forced to marry a Han Chinese husband’. (This one always is accompanied by the Han Chinese word .. it is never just Chinese husband .. it is always copy pasta Han Chinese Husband.
We should be worrying about the Gaza strip and the West Bank and Yemen. There is much more need there. But seeing that you get your propaganda on the Uyghurs from the BBC, the NYT and so on, perhaps you should go and read some Chinese propaganda. Here is the front page to https://www.cgtn.com/
Now scroll down until you get to a section called In Depth. And read some other propaganda about the Uyghurs and Xinjiang. At least you’ll agree with me that the quality of the propaganda is much better. Just perhaps you get the idea to test this propaganda, and you’ll find that every piece of it can be substantiated.
Amarynth, thanks for that Link to an English Language newspaper with “Chinese propaganda” about its NW province. Refreshingly different from Anglo Zio Capitalist owned newspapers with anti-Chinese propaganda. Bonus point: Map enables Western polemicists to actually know where Xinjiang is!

Pepe, please be vigilant and by all means stay away from Turkey. You and another foot soldier (Andre Vitchek) are heroes in the fight against US/Western imperialism.
Rest In Peace, my Andre Vltchek. From where you are now, you shall see how Karmic Justice will destroy the Hegemon.
“The US ruling class obviously won’t take this act of defiance lying down.”
Many are aware of this and for some this forms part of the purpose.
“Still, SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation), China’s top chip company, which recently profited from a $7.5 billion IPO in Shanghai, sooner or later may jump ahead of US chip manufacturers.”
Sooner or later will be at least three years, probably no faster than five years if the Chinese can get their hands on the key machines that produce 5nm chips. To jump ahead, the Chinese will have to beat 3nm. Realistically, we are looking at 7-10 years before the Chinese can produce chips of quality equal to the best the US controls from Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.
Huawei has warehoused a year or two’s supply they need for their smart phone business.
Why did they Chinese not stockpile five years’s supply? The conflict with the US was inevitable historically. Trump just made Sinophobia and trade war happen, but Obama was on the same track. TPP was going to be the means to screw over China in the same way, just using a different tool.
Larchmonter445 says: “Realistically, we are looking at 7-10 years before the Chinese can produce chips of quality equal to the best the US controls from Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.”
I am a bit more optimistic than you for the following reasons:
1. There is no knowledge gap between Chinese and Taiwanese engineers. Many engineers change companies easily, and since they all speak the same language, there is no communication problem.
2. China is reported to be working on its own alternative equipment to ASML – and have make good progress lately. Rest assured that the moment China announces milestone breakthrough, ASML will lower their price and rush to sell their equipment to China.
3. The limitation of quantum physics is making it harder to move from 5nm to 3nm – so future progress may have to come from other semiconductor material/techniques. China is in the SAME (or only slight slower) starting point as Taiwan/Korea/Japan.
Larchmonter445 says: “Why did they Chinese not stockpile five years’s supply?”
The manufacturers might not be able to produce so much supply in just a few months time. Furthermore, some of these chips may be outdated in a few years, and there is no telling what Trump/Biden will do in future (e.g. drop the ban?)
You make good points, d dan.
I think that the new tighter relationship for R&D with Russia, as Huawei invests and recruits some of the best minds in the RF, may help in the breakthrough for China. Just like some of the brainpower in tech in South Korea and Israel is Russian. China needs Russian math and physics and rigorous design work. Huawei will be pumping in billions in Russia to make up for the loss of its American talent.
1) Huawei has purchased a Russian face recognition company Vocord last year. It appeared that Russia was less concerned of the possible taking over of their R&D.
2) Huawei can give up their handset business (which uses 7nm chips) to other Chinese players such as Xiaomei, OPPO and VIVO. And collect patent fees. And wait for the Chinese chips.
3) The Huawei HarmonyOS is a more efficient system (it claims) and can run on less demanding chips. With 5G, most of the work on the handset can be done on the cloud servers. China says it will cover 300 cities with 5G by end of the year.
Here is a little written in China Daily today at the bottom. We have to remember that the big US semi-conductors like Qualcom, are applying to continue to set aside sanctions and have special privilege to continue supplying chips to Huawei etc. If they cannot supply for the tremendous quantities that China buys, it will severely affect their own business – they also do not want to lose the business.
China also has an open call out there to buy every stage of chip manufacturing business that they can lay their hands on.
My expectation is that they will handle it in all 5 ways …
Buy in technology even at a premium,
Build for new technological development and they’ve certainly put resources aside for this,
Register IP like crazy, to interrupt the current very long chip supply chain.
Rework of current technology to squeeze more out of it.
Its a war out there, for chips – but more than that, there is almost for sure in my mind a Great Leap Frog coming in this technology – it has to.
Anyway, if I had a bunch of money that I could gamble with (which I don’t have), I would now put it into a broadly constructed Chinese Chip investment fund. 3 Years till a major breakthrough would be my gamble :-)

Keep dreaming amarynth, China is never going to catch up in Silicon foundry technology. 5-7 years is an eternity in high tech by the time china tries to arrive at the target, the United States will be several generations ahead. Consumer electronics requires the full ecosystem not just the chips, the OS and the middleware too as well as global acceptance of that OS and software framework: China’s covid behavior has precluded any possibility of global acceptance.
You greatly underestimate free software, not only for its costs but its freedom. It will be ironic the Chinese reaching out to use free software but it is the largest treasure trove on the planet available for immediate use.
Some of the software is rough around the edges, needs more testing and documenting but those are all doable in short order. It just requires some money.
The Linux kernel runs every Android phone, every stock exchange on the planet.
Think about that.
One minor correction, it’s not free software. It’s called open source software (OSS). There are still stipulations on using the code and distribution depending on the license. Linux pretty much runs everything that is important, including the top 500 supercomputers.
Free Software is not open source.
The modern definition of free software is whether or not the recipient has the following four freedoms:
The freedom to run the program as you wish, for any purpose (freedom 0).
The freedom to study how the program works, and change it so it does your computing as you wish (freedom 1). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor (freedom 2).
The freedom to distribute copies of your modified versions to others (freedom 3). By doing this you can give the whole community a chance to benefit from your changes. Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
Freedoms 1 and 3 require source code to be available because studying and modifying software without its source code is highly impractical.
Open source allows the recipient to extinguish the user rights of following users. Free software guarantees the same rights to all future generations of users. This is the inherent bargain you enter into with Free Software.
Free Software is based on a moral and ethical foundation.
Open source has neither.
Why did they Chinese not stockpile five years’s supply? The conflict with the US was inevitable historically. Trump just made Sinophobia and trade war happen, but Obama was on the same track. TPP was going to be the means to screw over China in the same way, just using a different tool.
Perhaps because obsolescence happens so quickly in electronics. Five years from now, today’s cutting edge electronic marvels will be quaint curiosities of a nearly forgotten past.
(Although I personally think we may be reaching, or may already have passed, ‘peak progress’. Moore’s Law running out of steam, and The center cannot hold, and etc.)
It would be in China’s best interests to focus on quantum computing & nanolithography instead of trying to duplicate Western silicon chip manufacturing. Such a focus would also be consistent with Chinese habits of going around a problem instead of smashing it head-on. As others have suggested, close collaboration with Russia should be pursued to make this happen more quickly.
Thank you Rotislav from your comments. Gives me hope that people are challenging this China good good good narrative.
One can question motives of both, as you say. China is not saviour of anything. They were pumped up. Same way US was pumped up. The way Germany was pumped up.
Lets look at social policies. Economic policies. For betterment of people in a given country. That is what government is for.
Regards,

Well, if you want to look at social policies and economic policies for betterment of people, then you will make a big mistake if you don’t look at China. We’re seeing minor and major miracles in terms of lifting people out of poverty, establishing a system where democracy actually works from the bottom up, and where the country (and a few others) is rapidly recovering from what they considered a biological weapons attack. Quite something to see.
”Gives me hope that people are challenging this China good good good narrative.”
Great. Only problem here is that each and every one of these ”challenges” are so dull and narrow. At bottom, it’s Westerners resorting to their dated pet memes about the world — memes that few people outside the West even care about. It’s plain to see that the ongoing power shift hurts quite a bit for some. A constant source of very real grudge and disbelief indeed. Ignore them, I’d say.
Nussiminen said “At bottom, it’s Westerners resorting to their dated pet memes about the world — memes that few people outside the West even care about.”
A very broad broad brush sweeping statement, detached from the reality, and ultimately wishful thinking. It is far from only Western Nations. It includes Slavic and may other Nations that are and will never be western. Economic nationalism, passive isolationism/non interventionism, along with mutual respect of other nations is the only way forward.
“Memes” are for millennial touch key warriors, who live in a virtual world with little real life experiences in what they define as meat space.
So true, and thanks!
The reality is that there are paid and unpaid propagandists on both sides.
Globalization is the ultimate nation and citizen destroyer, and a major evil of humanity. It is also unnatural.
As i said before globalization is trade amongst countries for mutual benefit
China achieved trade dominance by 2013
Look at the map
https://2oqz471sa19h3vbwa53m33yj-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/china-top-trade-partner-2x-america.png, https://www.visualcapitalist.com/four-maps-showing-chinas-rising-dominance-trade/
With the exception of the western countries (who are also US allies) Australia & NZ – most (50% + 1) of the countries China trades with are enjoying increased GDP and better Human Development Index (HDI) statistical composites of
– life expectancy
– education and
– per capita income indicators
so it cant be “a major evil of humanity” as you claim, can it?
Regards
US poverty, defense spending, homelessness, defense spending, 50 million unemployed , defense spending, medicare costs, defense spending. Defense spending is over 750 billion. We have bases we cannot find on a map and our children are hungry.
Let me make this clear. With all the bases and a defense budget of $740 billion America is self-destructing. A malignant narcissist in charge and a man who cannot construct a sentence is an alternative. A stock market devoid of reality and a 1% devoid of conscience.
Capitalism and the individual, as well as collective perseverance, transformed China. Not socialism or communism. Capitalism is axiomatic, works on a non-verified premise: the necessity of unlimited growth which makes possible capital accumulation.
‘I knew who my enemy was when I saw the new American dream. I drove past third world decrepit cities, masses of ragged people with no homes. dispossed dying off in the broken streets.’ What does this say about the ‘greatest, fantastic, most incredible’ country ‘ever’ as Mr. Trump would have everyone believe? Perhaps that in itself is the humor as it is intrinsically without subtlety or intelligence. Something a clown might say when referring to his circus.

“Unlike the case from the 16th century to the last decades of the 20th century, …now the initiative is not coming from the West, but from East Asia”.
Yes this is key to understand what is going on in the geopolitical sphere today.
China has become the indispensable core of East-Asia (ASEAN, North-East Asia, Eastern Siberia + North-Korea) and East-Asia is shaping into an inescapable “Regional Economic Bloc”(REB) that is presently finalizing the localization of a global production chain that integrates top of the world science and technology conception and top of the world production specialists in all fields of the chain. In 2019 East-Asia represented 29% of the world economy while it was generating one third of world economic growth… And all this while the “Patent applications for the top 20 offices” (1) indicates that East Asia is introducing patent applications at a multiple of 3.46 times the USA. (2018 : USA : 597,000 / East-Asia : 2,066,000).
You can find my extensive analysis of the present geopolitical situation at “First societal blow in Late-Modernity” (2).
About chip technology (Larchmonter445, d dan)
The Western “material route” was silicon. Chinese research, since a few years, has been exploring a different “material route” : carbon. From what I read they should presently be in the stage of transposing their lab processes to industrial production processes which will take some time.
In term of the “deposition route” the West specialized in photo-lithography, also called optical lithography or UV lithography, which became the standard method used to deposit extremely small patterns, down to a few nano-meters in size, on the material support. China has been exploring another “deposition route” and by the end of this year, or during the first quarter of 2021, SMIC will start producing the equivalent of 8 nano-meter size deposit under the “photo-lithography deposition route”. But under their new “non-photo-lithography deposition route” …their chips are smaller in size and …cheaper in manufacturing.
Could it be that China is on the verge of leapfrogging the Western technological routes ? Will we then see China beating the Western semi-conductor industry quality-price wise ?
Concerning Huawei. It will almost certainly abandon the production of phones for a few years while keeping producing its 5G equipment for which it has sufficient chips.
But while it is thinking to let its phone production go dormant it is launching 2 new industrial lines of products : desktop computers and digital displays.
Its desktop will come with a Chinese – Kunpeng 920 processor (24 cores. The internal disclosure of this processor’s multi-core performance is slightly better than that of Intel’s i9-9900K) and a Chinese UOS system. Production capacity of servers will be 100,000 and 600,000 desktops within the year with a production capacity reaching 300,000 and 5 million respectively within three years! These machines will not be sold to the public but will equip China’s provincial and national administrations…

UOS (Unified Operating System Chinese: 统一操作系统) is a Chinese Linux distribution developed by UnionTech (Chinese: 统信软件) based on Deepin and commissioned by the People’s Republic of China to replace foreign operating systems like Microsoft Windows.
deepin is based on Ubuntu.
There was an agreement some 5-6 years ago between Ubuntu and the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to port Ubuntu for the Chinese territory and 2 years ago the Institute of Software passed the baton to UnionTech.

Why is the U.S. defense spending so high? This is often solely attributed to corruption and lobbying from the ‘military industrial complex’ made famous from Eisenhower’s farewell address but the author brings up an intrinsic built-in inefficiency. Today Russia and China only have to budget for actual defense while the U.S. has to start out spending at least $100B worth of psyops to keep Americans enraged at other countries.
The US has lost its industrial capability. That is one of the main reason of its high hardware cost. For example, China can build warships on shipyards with equipments also for commercial players. (Shanghai produces heavy cranes used in ports around the world). The few shipyards in the US depend only on military spending.
@Joseph C: “‘The few shipyards in the US depend only on military spending.”
And everyone knows that a U$ Army Toilet Seat costs $1000. So Uncle $cam gets Less Bang for the Buck. Current Chinese military spending has reached 1/3 of U$ spending (about 500 Billybucks vs 1500 Billybuck if I remember correctly). I bet toilet seats from Chinese shipyards doesnt cost anything near $1k. Therefore, on a purely Bang for Buck basis, I would recommend Uncle to increase military spending at least tenfold if he wants to stay in the game with China, Russia, Iran and the Houthi.
”Why is the U.S. defense spending so high?”
Corruption is certainly a factor but, most importantly, the US knows no other way to behave internationally than constant oppression, coercion, lawlessness, and violence. The regime and the US majority population alike understand very well indeed what awaits them when US coercion abroad is finally stopped. Now, this is fast approaching. The neoliberal rot and decay have reached a stage where outright societal collapse is in the air. The Pindos and the Euro-trash have got the ’leadership’ they deserve.
Wow Pepe, lost my respect for you writing that “concentration camps” are just demonization? Your wish for an alternative world system has messed up your ethical and moral position. You can be for an alternative without denying the reality of the Uighur concentration camps. Also the undeniable fact that China seizes assets (f.e. the Sri Lankan port anybody?) after a non performing loan – just like the West does – where they know exactly that the project doesn’t make any economic sense… which is a debt trap.
Aijajai Mr.Pepe, dare I say you have become full of… sad, sad, sad.
The good thing about the Saker blog is that it is run by a religious person, who will not deny the principle of the Christian faith i.e. not to lie, which makes him infinitely more valuable than any other propagandist. He will not accommodate the wishes of his followers if it is contrary to his fundamental principles.
At least I haven’t seen him taking the side of pedos, gays and propagandist.
Well, have you checked your own knowledge? We’ve been discussing the death of Andre Vltchek over in the Cafe. Here is one quote from him.
“Andre Vltchek
@AndreVltchek
I was investigating #Uyghur issue in #China, #Syria, #Turkey, #Afghanistan, #Indonesia and I arrived at conclusion that #USA and Western press created toxic fake news, in order to harm #China. And it is not only me. Serious investigators/reporters arrived at similar conclusions.

And let me ask a question. What would you do with people that are completely radicalized with no life skills whatsoever? In Syria, the Syrian Forces, Russia and others are killing them. The Chinese decided to re-educate them and give them a live.
What would you do?
Some education : https://xenagoguevicene.wordpress.com/2019/06/26/china-uyghurs-and-political-islam-by-godfree-roberts-%E2%80%A2-25-june-2019/
Listen, there is numerous photographic and video-graphic proof of these concentration camps and Chinese gov. documents that have been leaked. Also official Chinese statistics show that the Uighur population has been deliberately been cut down by policies like forced break up of families, forced sterilization, murder and forced marriage. Don’t excuse Chinese cultural and ethnic genocide, by complaining of radicalization. Who wouldn’t be radicalized if you saw your (oppressor – China conquered East Turkestan) government deliberately settle Han-Chinese in your cities and villages? Don’t take normal people for fools, they have eyes and ears.
(I simply cannot ignore these atrocities, which are being committed against the Uighurs. And it is pathetic to listen to me while I write this, as I know, that I have done sh* to change this.)
Russia has the same problem with its Muslim minorities. You can feel the very real under current of Anti-Russian sentiment in the Caucasus – as Russian all but disappeared from the Caucasus (and no not willingly but by force). The truth is that Muslims still have a strong faith and a very strong connection to their ethnic group. This isn’t bad per se, but it only goes so far if you live together in a secular state. You can pretend that all is fine, but if you’re not blind, you cannot miss the obvious contradiction of Islamic principles and the real world secular societal norms and “ethics”.
I do not know all the answers, I have propositions, but there are much more competent people than me in this regard.
“I do not know all the answers, I have propositions, but there are much more competent people than me in this regard.”
Sure, some of them are here and I’m sure they will be around.
Nachtigall sounds German, you must have lots of knowledge of concentration camps.
The Uyghur concentration camps hoax comes from a Chinese cult having their main office in the USA.
Difference between Chinese debt and Western debt is that the Chinese don’t infringe upon your sovereignty, they are not trying to push for political or cultural changes upon the society with their debt, the West is.
Nathan Rich just very recently did a little documentary on Falun Gong.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x15Cmhgb70&t=199s
Most of the numerous photographic and video-graphic proof of these ‘concentration camps’ come from them .. and of course, a wide swath from a friendly guy with the name of Steve Bannon, and a side dish from Pompeo himself.
The mentioned documents:
https://www.aljazeera.com/program/episode/2020/2/24/leaked-document-shows-how-uighurs-are-detained-in-china/

Now write all the usual answers: propaganda, lies, all not true. There is enough evidence, enough witness accounts.
Does this proof anything? In the strictest sense, no. You would have to bug all of Xinjang, get everything on tape inside and ouside every building, the concentration camps, sat footage of the entire province in detail and long periods of time, documents of all relevant government institutions. Get as much raw data as possible, which is not possible in the amount needed to speak of proof.
You somehow remind me of the historical accounts about the Nazi internment camps. People also played dumb, say they don’t know and you spread lies…
@amarynth

@Nachtigall,
In addition to your above fake news, don’t forget promoting the 1989 Tienanmen ’massacre’ hoax. The resolve of the PLA and the police turned out to be a game-changer right at the time when Western fascist victory globally seemed imminent. Like most Western practitioners of philanthropy, you wouldn’t mind if your horror stories actually were true as long as China didn’t stir up a lot of trouble to Western imperialism.
With all due respect, I do understand where you coming from. No country is perfect, and yes, Russia and China are far from ideal. However, it was not Russia and China who have 800 military bases around the world. Many Americans cannot even locate the countries, where the bases are on the map. It not Russia and China who are building missile systems in Canada or Mexico. It is not Russia and China who have bombed Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and other places. It is not Russia and China who are wasting obscene amounts of money on nuclear weapons and claim to reserve the right of nuclear first strike. Talk to people who actually been to China. What China accomplished is astounding over the past 40 years. And where is USA right now? Rotting third world infrastructure and decaying cities. Never enough money to fix domestic problems. What happened in Flint, Michigan should not have happened in most wealthiest nation in the world. Unnaceptable and not an isolated case. When it comes to “defense spending” however, there is always money. We cannot know what will happen. However let us allow a possibility that a multipolar and peaceful world could be better. I know that it is difficult to imagine or conceive. I know that most of humanity has no intention of going to war, much less nuclear.
Another thing you can be religious and still be a good human being, just as you can be an atheist. Believe in science. Religion and science and free though are not incompatible. Islamic golden age in the middle ages is the proof of this. And there are atheists who are just terrible people. Such as Sam Harris. Read his writings. He advocates for racial profiling, he writes that religion should be banned. Another one is Christopher Hitchens, who supported Iraq war. And years ago I have read an article, where a woman lamented how her atheist brother denies Climate Change, supports bombing of people in far off lands, and is into American exceptionalism. There are good and bad people who are religious, as well as atheist!
@Andalusian Musician
It is a fair assessment. I won’t take any sides, until I’m forced to.
The thing I absolutely hate the most is a lie. If your argumentation is supported by facts I have to accept the conclusion. I know the most hideous things that the Chinese have endured. I understand the reasons for their present behavior. All I am insisting on, is to clearly divide facts from fiction and give clear notions about cause and effect. If I am wrong I will admit it and it is possibly, that everything I think I know is wrong. You decide for yourself.
Without going too far, look for the blog of the youtuber Jabiertzo, a Spaniard who lives in China since 2011 and who works there and is married to a Chinese woman whom he met there. In it you will find a lot of information about life in China and its internal politics. I also spent a long time looking for valid information about life in China and swallowed many toads like the one they throw on the oppression of Muslims in the Xinjiang area and many other stories about the “lack of democracy” in China. Analyzing what is happening in the world, now I am sure that China is much more democratic than any “western” country.
As a westerner married to a Chinese national with family in China and having spent a considerable amount of time there, I can state that there is a lot of bovine excrement spread in the western news outlets about China.
Well said nachtigall, but youre not going to get thru to fans and cheerleaders of the CCP. They’ll turn a blind eye to concentration camps because they pinned all their hopes on the CCP. Your comments encompassed the motivation perfectly. Pepe Escobar, long ago switched to advocacy instead of unbiased journalism. However reality will eventually sink in when we observe the rapid retreat of China’s global reach in 2021 on ward.
“there are much more competent people than me in this regard.”
That is the case.
You and your associates do segue truth and fiction with some facility despite a predeliction to evangelism.
However you are still immersed in notions of “exceptionalism” illustrated by the opening wording “Listen,”.
As Mr. McGovern admits the facility of his former associates have deteriotated since at least 1980 ( a consequence in part of the ratio between those retiring and those joining) and so your lacunae are to some degree expected and understandable, particularly your immersion in time-and-tide-wait-for-no-manness, and aversion to rigour.
Lets hope you improve so others can have fuller understanding of the details of what constitutes the perceived plausible belief of the day.
To help you on your journey let me relate an old story which was true.
Once upon a time there was a French manufacturer of a nationally popular soft drink who wanted to expand into the UK market, but failed.
The soft drink is still called Pschitt and continues to enjoy popularity in France.
The “lesson” being that shit is a hard sell in some markets.
You can share this message with your colleagues if so minded.
Enjoy your week-end.
Hundreds of millions of visitors visit Xinjiang every year in the last few years (e.g. 2017, 2018, 2019), including millions of foreigners. Many Uighurs travel outside Xinjiang, and outside China and then back to Xinjiang. Dozens of Muslim countries sent representatives to those so called “concentration camps” and came back to UN with joint statements to support China. Of course, you are welcome to visit Xinjiang yourself, or ask a trusted agent of you to visit Xinjiang, can’t you?
If all these are still not enough proof, and you still can’t visit Xinjiang, then see the following videos by foreigners about Xinjiang – the stories that western media never report and never want you to see:

This is one example of the “concentration camp”, an education and training center:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb4v7g6yM0Y&pp=QAA%3D
The following is a sample of techniques western media lie about Xinjiang “concentration camp”:
— A video of Indonesian police beating up a thief was posted as “Chinese beating up a Muslim for reading the Quran.” And that stupid video got millions of views.
— In another case, a photo from a sex/BDSM club in Taiwan was used to claim that Uyghurs were being tortured in China.
— A viral video in 2020 claimed to show handcuffed and blindfolded Uyghurs being led by the police. It was actually an old video from another province (Guizhou) where some non-Uyghur (Han) people got caught in a massive financial fraud (pyramid scheme).
— Forbes wanted to write an article about “forced labor” in Xinjiang. When they couldn’t find any real photo, they just went to Getty image and bought an old picture — from ten years ago — of a shoe factory in Chile and used it instead!

And on and on and on. What else do you need?
First thanks for the links. I’ve watched them and at this point it will be most likely a propaganda war. Many things come to mind. This amateur footage is probably authentic and but still, his mentioned experiences, are anecdotal. That’s why I do not refer to witness accounts that have been video tapped like escapees in f.e. Istanbul. And no I do not have “agents” in Xinjang. I lived in Wuhan and in Guandong province, my now defunct contacts were located in these parts of the country.
My questions are:
– What Xinjang do we see here; at which time period (for example have the dissenters been locked up and now you see the picture that the CCP wants you to see)?
– What about the industrial scale surveillance? The focus on Uighurs in airport style checkpoints. (Footage in the “VICE” video)
– What about the camps itself? The sat footage, on side videos? As far as I know the CCP has acknowledged their existence.
– And maybe the most objective info at all, the gov. stats on the Uighur population (decreased dramatically, children per woman also). This Zenz guy (Jamestown Foundation) is often quoted by Western media. I had a look into his report, he cites “Xinjiang Statistical Yearbook 2019”. I couldn’t find a free version yet (the official site is behind a paywall and you got to be subscribed.
– The fact that there were riots by Uighurs and Uighurs who claim that they are being displaced and disfavored for Han-Chinese?
“(Jamestown Foundation)”
The Jamestown Foundation was and is associated with RFE/RL (Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty) an associate of the CIA, the BND and others.
RFE/RL incorporated assets and practices of UK World War Two XX (Double Cross) black propaganda operations directed against “Axis powers”
As a consequence of the “unconditional surrender” agreement brokered on or about 1st May 1945 in the Bolzano region of Italy between Mr. Allen Welsh Dulles, apparently representing no one, and Mr. Karl Wolff representing the SS including its “intelligence service” the SD, the “assets” of the “Allies” excepting the Soviet Union, were merged with those of the SS including the SD, the Abwehr with the exception of a small segment being evaluated as not fit for purpose.
Facilitated by this merging RFE/RL was created to assist Gladio project attempts including in Eastern Europe – in Ukraine using OUP/OUN “assets” from 1945, in 2009 OUP/OUN’s association being rebranded as the Ukrainian National Union Party in preparation for the coup of 2014.
RFE/RL conducted its activities primarily from Bavaria, mostly in the environs of Munich where BND and ZDF and other “media assets” are located.
RFE/RL have continued their roles in co-ordinating “Anti-Soviet/Anti-Russian” activities and their areas of co-ordination included but were not restricted to “Hungarian Uprising” 1956 when the KGB head of station in Budapest was Mr. Yuri Andropov, “The Prague Spring” of 1968 and the Ukrainian coup of 2014.

Well, I always check my memory of the articles I read and I have to correct the debt trap claim with the Sri Lankan port. It seems that this was Western propaganda, at least as pertaining to the “debt for equity swap” claim. The port was leased for 99years and the loans were not defaulted on. It is more complicated than that, and I would critique the general capitalist development model and the mercantalist game China is playing. In general I am against the capitalist globalization paradigm. Especially the theory of comparative advantages in international markets, as it is a ploy to play off populations against each other (in a race to the bottom) and the power imbalances that arise from that. Every country should have a minimum of fundamental industries to support itself. Otherwise you end up China producing almost everything in the real economy and (and having to ship its products worldwide, which is ridiculously ineffective from an energetic / resource use POV. Produce as many products locally as you can. The liberal, hedonistic consumer economy is the death of the biosphere.
Two important quotes from two articles about the lie (https://thediplomat.com/2020/01/the-hambantota-port-deal-myths-and-realities/ and https://www.scmp.com/comment/insight-opinion/article/3008799/truth-about-sri-lankas-hambantota-port-chinese-debt-traps)
“There has been no change in ownership. However, as per the lease agreement, a significant portion of the operations in the port will be handled by China Merchant Port company, thus a large portion of the profit, if any, will be earned by CM Port.”
“However, these facts do not justify the Mahinda Rajapaksa government’s decision to construct the port using foreign loans obtained at higher interest rates at a time when the country was in dire need of fiscal consolidation. Operation of Hambantota port did not generate sufficient revenue to match the debt obligations pertaining to the loans obtained for the project. Although port operations started in 2011, following the completion of phase one of the project, Hambantota port was still incurring losses by 2016. According to the submissions made to a Parliament committee, the accumulated losses of Hambantota port was 46.7 billion Sri Lankan rupees (approximately $300 million) as of the end of 2016, just before the port was leased to CM Port.”
As to the treatment of Uighurs, both reports of the BBC and VICE (both have spread lies and are presstitutes I know) have at least, as I can judge, authentic footage, even if the leaked government files are fabrications.
I think this mess can only be solved if a nominally independent press (professional and amateur) from non-enemy states is allowed to freely enter every part of Xinjang. China can resolve the issue this way, but it would be probably perceived as a humiliation.
I can appreciate what China has done and is still doing with their “initiative” and I’m glad to see so many Chinese being lifted out of poverty, that’s a good thing however, China ceded Taiwan to the Japanese in 1895. That was the last time Taiwan was prefecture of China. Taiwan belongs to the Taiwanese…..
I do not know where people get their history from. I mean, in reality there were two wars and signed documents.
In December 1943, the Cairo Declaration was issued by the Chinese, U.S. and British governments, stipulating that Japan should return to China all the territories it had stolen from the Chinese, including Northeast China, Taiwan and the Penghu Archipelago.
The Potsdam Proclamation signed by China, the United States and Britain in 1945 (later adhered to by the Soviet Union) stipulated that “The terms of the Cairo Declaration shall be carried out.”
On October 25, 1945, the Chinese government recovered Taiwan and the Penghu Archipelago, resuming the exercise of sovereignty over Taiwan.
Before that …
In April 1895, through a war of aggression against China, Japan forced the Qing government to sign the unequal Treaty of Shimonoseki, and forcibly occupied Taiwan. In July 1937, Japan launched an all-out war of aggression against China. In December 1941, the Chinese government issued the Proclamation of China’s Declaration of War Against Japan, announcing to the world that all treaties, agreements and contracts concerning Sino-Japanese relations, including the Treaty of Shimonoseki, had been abrogated, and that China would recover Taiwan.
These are just basics. It is a whole other story that the current hegemon is now fiercely using Taiwan against China.
Thank you Amarynth for providing the background.
Bufallobiff says: “Taiwan belongs to the Taiwanese”
Taiwan is part of China, for the following reasons:
1. The laws of the country are clear: both Taiwanese (ROC) and Beijing (PRC) Constitutions – the ultimate laws in the land – state that Taiwan is part of China.
2. ALL the 200 countries in the world today recognize there is only ONE China – not a single one recognize “2 China’s”, nor a single one recognize “1 China, 1 Taiwan”. Yes, every single country recognize Taiwan is part of China.
3. ALL international organizations, e.g. UN, WHO, World Banks, … recognize Taiwan as part of China.
4. Historically, Taiwan has been part of China since Qing dynasty – that is longer than the existence of many countries like US, Canada, Australia, etc. Taiwanese are majority Han, so they are linked racially to the mainland Chinese. They share close ties with mainland Chinese historically, culturally, genetically, religiously, economically, linguistically, … etc.
5. The ONLY reasons that Taiwan and China currently are separated politically are due to foreign imperial invasions and interferences – first by Japan and then by US.
6. Therefore, before Taiwanese want to talk about independence, they need to remove all foreign interferences and factors – that will include among others: stop all arms sales, stop all NGO and other propaganda machines, stop all diplomatically recognize Taipei government. ONLY then can we truly have a way of “self-determination” by the Taiwanese/Chinese people.
7. For Taiwanese to seek independence, it still need to be done legally. That will include the consent of Beijing and the majority of mainland Chinese. It is the same if California wants independence – it needs to seek permissions from the other 49 states – not only because it is Constitutionally bounded, but also because ALL Americans have (direct, indirect, implied, and other intangible – past, present or future) interests and rights in California too – whether they resides in the states or not, or whether they are aware or not. Currently, the majority of Chinese do not agree to let Taiwan be independent.
The US is terrified to see China and Russia convincing the entire world of how untrustworthy the USA has become and how she can not be reliable at all. Besides, USA is digging itself a huge grave that will hopefully bury it in its entirety.
That is not to say that USA doesn’t hold sway over other lands. For example India willingly and quite happily decided to be the lap-dog of USA against China, forgetting what a conflict with China brought them back in 1967. USA still guides the foreign policy of entire EU, dare i say, completely. Australia is another lap-dog of her. The combination of USA-Australia-India does pose some threat to China but only for short term while long term damage lies on the side of the losers who think they can contain China. China is beyond their reach honestly.
Pepe as usual the best of the best when it comes to the China question.
@Amarynth,
Thanks for carrying the load on beating down the Epoch Times/Falun Gong trolls and Sinophobes who propagate the bullshit and crapola about the Uyghurs.
I’m weary of it all.
Facts don’t matter to these bots, and shouting is not allowed on the Vineyard.
Saker is too kind. I’d moderate these fools and tools into oblivion.
Be well. I’ll be on the sidelines cheering and step in when I’m back from R&R (self-imposed restraint training or I’ll get banned myself.)
You’ve carried my load plenty in the past, so, I’ll do what I can lol. The change in methodology is interesting.
I sincerely hope I am not a sinophobe or troll from my writings on this thread. I also hope that recognizing globalization as an evil for humanity should not indicate that I am a sinophobe or troll.
And since you brought the subject up, looking it this thread objectively the same could maybe be perceived of comments possibly indicating regular sinophile trolls and propagandists, paid or otherwise.
@Rostislav
Dear Rostislav, your suspicions are right. He has fought so many infowars against the empire, that he simply cannot bring himself to see, that the supposed savior of the world is as bad (in its own way) as the supposed current one. I do appreciate his vigor in collecting information on a possible multi polar world. This is where my sympathies end.
I regularly monitor the Russo-sphere, the Kurganyans, Soloviovs, Estafeefs, Mixeevs, Dugins, Delyagins, Khazins etc. of this curious world and I am pleased that the Russian masses have a much more differentiated view of China. It is still interesting to see how all of them are skirting around the CCP issue. There is no love lost for the CCP or China . The unofficial motto of Russia in Putin’s words: “I would like to remind you Alexander III, our emperor, once said that Russia has just two allies, the armed forces and the navy.” https://tass.com/russia/789866. It’s a matter of convenience for both parties.
Nachtigall, sorry, nonsense. Putin has put words to the value of the relationship so many times that I won’t even tell you about it. If you monitor this sphere, why is it that you don’t know?
Read the article again. If you would command the Russian language and lived in Russia, you’d probably understand. On other occasions you read into Putin’s words, what he didn’t mean: A relationship between the two countries unlike with any other two; this doesn’t mean that there are no ideological or cultural differences. More so, both acknowledge the right of each other interests. Still Russia has payed in blood for the eternal lesson that it only can rely on itself. This is the meaning of Putin’s words or rather Alexander III.
Is this your second objective here? First, drop mainstream info on how bad China is, and secondly malign the excellent relationship Russia/China? I don’t know. But we have to be careful not to support the west’s new, currently cold but threatening to explode, war on China, not to mention the ongoing war on Russia.
But, let’s take a look at the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination for the New Era“.
“Conclusion:
Yes, Russia and China need each other. I would argue that they need each other. Vitally. And yes, the “loss” of one would threaten the other. But that is not just true for Russia, it is also very true of China (which desperately needs Russian energy, high-tech, natural resources, weapons systems but most of all, Russian experience: for most of her existence Russia was threatened, invaded, attacked, sanctioned, boycotted and disparaged by a long succession of western states, and she defeated them all. Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, but each time Russia prevailed. The determination and ability to resist the West is something which is deeply embedded in the Russian cultural DNA (this in sharp contrast with the rest of the so-called “East European” countries). Finally, and for all their very real recent advances, the Chinese armed forces are still far behind the Russian (or the USA for that matter) and in a one-on-one war against the USA China would definitely lose, especially if the USA goes “all out”. Russia, on the other hand, has the means to turn the US and Europe into a post-industrial nuclear wasteland (using nuclear and, most importantly, non-nuclear munitions!).”
/can-russia-or-iran-survive-without-china/
Yes, both are pushed in each others arms. Russia’s strategy always was to be in a partnership with the West despite all its invasions, treachery and betrayal. From Peter the Great to now Putin, Russia always tried to be on the better side of the West. There is also a deep, deep inferiority complex in the Russian elites, which constantly try to please the West. Even the communists have given up their ideology to reunite with the “European” family. All they got is a beating and break up of their country. It is amazing how rooted this longing for acceptance is. After all that has happened, its elites are still not committed to sovereignty, as, if you would command the Russian language would know, is quite publicly discussed on national TV, on the most popular political talk show “Evening with V.Soloviov”. How many times could I hear the conclusion, that “Russia is the biggest enemy of Westerners because its people are Europeans, look like Westerners but represent an alternative to the usual imperial behavior of Westerners”. If it wasn’t for the Wests infinite arrogance and stupidity, Russia could have very well become a part of the EU. Putin said almost as much in his famous Bundestag speech in Berlin. Many like to forget this fact.
At any rate this dream is, thank goodness, dead. As far as China is concerned, I think Saker’s article is correct, that both should work together and “have each others back”. Xi has also said something in this regard like “stand back to back” facing their enemies.
This was not the wished for outcome of either leader. It has become a necessity.
All I’m advocating for, is that Russia should reintegrate its lost parts and be truly sovereign. Develop all its industries, become an independent world power. Not this ghastly vision of becoming a highway, water-lane, flight route for Chinese products and in the end a cheap resource appendage, like it is now to the West.
@Nachtigall Well stated.
Truth reigns over all.
Your comment:
“All I’m advocating for, is that Russia should … become an independent world power. Not this ghastly vision of becoming a highway, water-lane, flight route for Chinese products and in the end a cheap resource appendage”
… is rooted deeply in the Western psyche which seeks Zero-Sum game outcomes (I-win-to -the-extent-that-you-lose) rather than an long term Win-Win strategy
Think about it China and Russia are civilizational states – the US is a white settler colony of some 400 years. After the collapse of the USSR 1991, the US as a superpower has really only lasted from 1991-2008 (the GFC) – a very short time in the schema of world history
What Russia and China (and more recently Iran) are creating is a symbiotic relationship
Its a great pity you haven’t read Larchmonter445’s brilliant analysis ‘Russia-China Double Helix’ which would allow you to understand just how deep the synergy between these two great civilizational states actually is
(Its probably still on this site somewhere)
You seem to be expressing the same inferiority complex you accuse Russians of having by expressing the fear that Russia will in some way be subordinate to China. That simply wont happen
Lastly, Russia doesnt have to aspire to greatness – it already is great – evidenced by its literature and music – just for starters!
Regards
Here is that article by Larchmonter445. Yes, high time for people to read it again.
/russia-china-sitrep-double-helix-strategic-coordinationrussia/
Thanks for that -:)
The problem with trolls esp. American trolls is theyve been brainwashed without knowing theyve been brainwashed
Its as is often attributed to American humorist Mark Twain: “Its easier to fool people than convince them that theyve been fooled.”
I think the first question that we could ask any new commenters here who want to throw shade on either Russia or China – or both is: ‘Have you read Larchmonter445’s article?’
… it sorts the wheat from the chaff, the sheep from the goats – kinda thing
Onwards and upwards
T
Russia and Iran have done all the heavy lifting in Syria, shed blood, and defeated ISIS.
China is a raw (I dare say cowardly) opportunist waiting in the wings to share in the spoils.
In today’s reality with the Globalist USA lashing out all over the shop, a strategic alliance between Russia and China is advantageous for both parties. But make no mistake, Russia is not at all dependent on Globalization to survive, unlike China. Russia is great, and is a superpower in its own right, with or without a strategic alliance with China.
At least as many Chinese fell dead due to Japanese aggression as did Russians and other Soviet people due to German (and Austrian, Check, Hungarian, Rumanian and Italian) aggression.
And to be more precise: The betrayal of Russians by its supposed allies, was a constant theme throughout Russia’s history. It’s so called brothers like Bulgarians or Georgians and now Armenians, Ukrainians has taught them this lesson. Russians have died for them, for the right of their existence and the betrayal of their “brothers” is massive. So this is not an anti-Chinese sentiment. Experience has taught Russia to be with itself, than to rely on backstabbing allies and so called brothers.
@ RostislavWhat I miss are comments on the content of the article itself. All I see, is globalization type stuff, that one can find on every cheapskate site in the world.
Sorry, you asked.
@amarynth
The article was about Trump and Xi’s speech to the UN. Xi went on to state that globalization must continue with broad talking points interspersed in-between. Globalization “must continue” for China, as it is China’s Meal Ticket. CCP China’s Interests should not be assumed as being the interests of other countries and their citizenry, that make up the world community. In many cases they divert and differ.
Globalization is one of the main underlying causes of social and economic upheaval in today’s world. Instead economic nationalism, protectionism, non interventionism, passive isolationism along with mutual respect with all countries, is the way forward. That is antithetical to the CCP (and Globalist USA)
Yes, globalisation is bad when its ruthlessly enforced by military and financial bullying, but you have the wrong country when pointing your finger at China.
As for Silk Roads it was was a trade route that existed from approx 200 B.C up until the 15th century.
A rising and wealthy China, with a population of approx 1.4 billion, a centuries-old history & culture, will inevitably become an important trading partner with other countries, including hopefully those of the West…(for their own sake).
(Removed by the moderator.)
Let China worry about what is best for China. Let citizens of all the other countries worry about what’s best for their county’s citizens, and that includes Serbia. The governments of Globalist USA and China look out only for their own interests, and are no other country’s saviors. They both want to use other countries for their own benefit, and maybe other countries should emulate that attitude and attempt to do the same, or not.
Each and every country’s domestic market is sacred (to its own citizens), and selling to it from abroad should be decided on in a very selective and shrewd manner for the maximum benefit of the majority of each country’s citizens. Protectionism.
Just the hard cold fact about Xinjiang’s development and the betterment of the lives of Uyghurs:
http://govt.chinadaily.com.cn/s/202009/19/WS5f681c1a498ed1e2f340983b/xinjiangs-employment-situation-by-the-numbers.html
It’s a lovely Infographic and overwhelms the Lies and Bullcrap from the US propaganda machine.
Thank you Larchmonter!
I would find the Western propaganda lamenting the treatment of the Muslim Uyghers in China (and Muslims elsewhere) more sincere and believable if Western governments weren’t arming & funding ISIS which undermine those same Muslim communities that they claim support.
Spot-On, Serbian girl. …Like David Camerons “70,000 Freedom Fighters” which he said Britain was going to support, against the “Butcher of Damascus”….those who questioned who these fighters were, never got a direct answer from him but the result has been very evident in Syria.
@Serbian girl
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Two wrongs? I only see one.
It’s definitely wrong for the West to fund & arm ISIS on other people’s national territories.
Are you saying its wrong for those countries to fight back against ISIS?
Duh……It’s definitely wrong for the West, USA, Israel, Saudi Arabia to fund & arm ISIS on other people’s national territories. It’s demonic.
The treatment of the Muslim Uyghers in China, and the social credit system they employ on all Chinese Citizens is also definitely wrong. I hope I was able to clarify.
“Last year, China spent $261 billion while the US spent $732 billion…”
Is not the amount for the US too low? Does it count the 17 “intelligence agencies? Does it include the department of energy that makes the nuclear weapons, … ?
Folks I may be wrong, but we have a few what we usually call trolls here. So, just be aware of the wild unsubstantiated wrong information being thrown around from newcomers.
Perhaps they are real honest and goodhearted commenters and the dearest people in the world and I’m wrong and I’ll have to apologize :-) We will see.
Let’s get back to topic here and check our data, which is expected at The Saker blog.
@amaryth,
Thanks for carrying the flags of logic and fact on this thread.
Cheers!
“Sinophobia”
Yes, as if being cynical of China’s intentions is some kind of a mental disorder.
If anyone who doesn’t blindly worship China gets accused of “phobia” and being Western Imperialist, can it also not be true that at least some of the pro-China trolls are Chinese bots and tools of the CCP?
Yes Sayer, that’s exactly the problem. But as you can see from the comments, the tide has already turned and these CCP cheerleaders who personalize their insults against those that comply with their orthodoxy, are engaging ina futile struggle. This despite their bully pulpit. People aren’t blind, they know their lives have turned upside down by China’s actions.
A contradiction is that the majority of the readers agree with Trump’s sovereignist views and actions, yet Trump is the one going after pro globalist China. Square that circle.
“Trump’s sovereignist views”
“Square that circle.”
Mr. Trump’s sovereignist views were/are restricted to the sovereignty of “The United States of America” in being sovereign over “their own population” (possessive case), and the rest of the world.
That is the default position of “The United States of America” and has been the default position since its invention to attain circularity/sustainability through we-the-people-hold-these-truths-to-be-self-evidentness.
The gibbering globetrotting genocidal Gujarati gangster government of India under Narendrabhai Damodardasbhai Modi literally has nothing left in its kitty except anti Chinese foaming mouthed rhetoric. This is getting absurd since even that has reached such diminished returns that the regime media (which never, ever, does anything without orders from the regime) have shifted from using China as a distraction from the dead economy to – in orchestration – gibbering gobbledygook on some Bollywood actor’s suicide and the alleged drug use surrounding it.
Stunning. People do not trust their governments and rightly so. But they believe every word their governments say about China.
It is also hard work to go and study and educate oneself, which is what I did and I know of at least one other person here who sat down and did the hard work of studying, reading, querying to figure out what China is all about. If you don’t know it yet, but the process in China vis a vis the ordinary citizen is more democratic than most of the western countries. There is a system of polling the people on a continuous basis that is a massive feedback system, and highly encouraged. I saw recently the joke again .. ‘In the US you can change the party – but you *cant change the policy. In China you cant change the party – but you *can change the policy!’
The changing and bringing out of poverty of millions of people, mostly rural, in the country is real, and one cannot help but be amazed once you understand the size and scope of it.
China is also not into hegemony, as Xi Jinping have assured many times now. The time of hard communism what I can only explain as USSR style is over. China is communist or socialist I’ve seen them say as well, and we all know that they say with Chinese characteristics.
But I bet you don’t know there is something like 40 political parties in China, free to say their say. And then, I’ve seen that there are daily strikes or street action, specifically usually against a mid-level bureaucrat somewhere, and this changes things. Chinese people want to be seen to do the right thing. There is now action to change the bureaucracy specifically in opening small or mid level businesses. Its all over the talk sphere now and it is becoming less onerous. There is a stated objective to reduce needless bureaucracy.
The western propaganda on China is not only a very big deal, but is also state driven and MIC driven, and then you have people like Steve Bannon who says openly they are working to overthrow the CCP. Another little color revolution, but this time they will not be able to do it. Just like Hong Kong and their western backers eventually burned out, this will eventually burn out.
So this propaganda is what concerns me. It is very clear that consent is being manufactured specifically in US for some kind of action against China. And this is on an industrial scale and they are convincing the US’ers of something … China is very very bad and we have to help their people to get rid of the CCP. We’ve seen that recently with Iran. ‘We don’t want a color revolution, we just want to help the people to get rid of their Mullahs’. How many times still are the western and US’ers going to fall for a war message?
I’ll leave it to the experts to assess, but China is militarily preparing and some areas are on some kind of readiness footing. If that does not concern you, then I don’t know what will. You can again fall for ‘weapons of mass destruction’ – fact is that a new Pew Research reported in July that “unfavorable views of China had reached “new highs” in the U.S.—more than doubling from 35 to 73 percent between 2005 and 2020. Australian trust in their northern neighbors is even worse: in 2020, 77 percent of Australians expressed distrust in China, compared to just 38 percent in 2006.”
For those of us that watch for this, we’ve seen the propaganda machine kick into high gear. What are the US’ers being prepared for. What is the consent to hate China that is seated in the US and in Australia being manufactured for? Why is Trump using his platform at the UNGA to launch a blistering attack on China? He has lost his trade war and I assure you, the Chinese are just going through the motions and they are not really interested. Russia and China are dancing a nuanced dance currently, to remove the influence of the USdollar without breaking the world, and walking a thin line to not respond to war provocation. We’re basically one shot of one scared soldier away from serious conflict. If that does not concern you, I do not know what will.
The propaganda is effective and as this report says: “U.S. political elites have turned to Sinophobia as a bogeyman to distract from the failures of capitalism, neoliberalism, and a violent U.S. empire that invests more in perpetual war than in basic health care and infrastructure for the American people. That’s what makes Sinophobia Inc. so effective: mass discontent fomented by an unresolved pandemic, rising unemployment, and American anxieties over the future can all be shunted onto the ‘real’ threat: China. ”
https://www.qiaocollective.com/en/articles/sinophobia-inc
If you wanna know about China, don’t read or consume western press – right at the moment they are propagandizing you.
@amarynth
I agree with you on principle.
“Stunning. People do not trust their governments and rightly so. But they believe every word their governments say about China. ” as far as I’m concerned I do not believe anything, anyone says. I only rely on information that can sufficiently be said to be objective. I would gather only raw data if I had the resources and employ the analytical manpower to synthesize trustworthy information. I wished it was a question of mathematical precision, but it’s not. In a hierarchy of distrust this would be the least corrupted information, although without any guarantee. So we are left with blogs, mainstream media and personal accounts.
My personal distaste for the CCP is on ideological grounds, as is with Western puppet parties. This is therefore the realm of politics.
… and on that note the defense rests!
Very well said amarynth
Regards
Hell of a closing argument eh lol … even I am impressed (just joking! :-)
Thanks so much for your help.
I’m being called all kinds of names ProBeijing, and worse … but I’m not so pro papa Beijing, I’m just so anti war. I learn to reduce my own fear so to speak. So, all this China studying made me understand that papa Beijing just does not want to shoot me. So, for that, I believe we can refrain from shooting papa Beijing :-)
A very interesting series of articles, comments and arguments on Pepe’s Sinophobia, Lies and Hybrid War, with those that present varying aspects, points of view and wide vision being the most convincing, and all, seemingly, based on arguments that await the fulfillment of time for their veracity, rather than self interest.
One could perhaps adopt the term Sinobravo, as phobia means fear, and fear we all have, only denying this with clever ruses of one kind and another, and bravery all people have also, but in potential only
Truth and courage are inseparable.
Just ask Hong Kong if this article is accurate. Remember the CCP is a gang just like the mafia–when you deal with a gang you won’t like the result. Propaganda is now a paid industry world wide no doubt the author of this article is well compensated by the CCP.
Yes, we did ask Hong Kong. And they are happy now that the western hoodlums are under control. And no, let’s not disparage the author here because you don’t know that. You’re just spreading trash here.
Now the question becomes, how to show this defect without being confused as a Democrat? Many Trump supporters see how the Iraq “weapons of mass destruction” led to endless wars, with Trump seemingly embracing the idea of bringing the troops home. Quite whispers say it’s more a mix, with some being simply repositioned elsewhere. At any rate, someone needs to argue the point that the President is being led to war via the same mechanisms that you described. Someone needs to call out Pompeo, who keeps ratcheting up the anti China rhetoric,
Also, Steve Bannon is gaining a “strongly-influencing-the-conversion” share of conservative alternative media, full of anti-China presentations, including a Chinese virologist who said in the same breath that not only was Covid19 made in a Chinese lab, it was released deliberately.
There is no proof supplied as to a deliberate release, and the international Fauci/Gates medical deep state is up to its eyeballs in this thing, East and West. It’s like a novichuk poisoning all over again.
The bottom line is, China will make waste if things go ugly, and this ain’t Iraq or Iran, it’s China.
So, the needed angle is how to outflank this building momentum towards a showdown. I think the auto-war wing of the Trump base needs a wake-up about how Trump is being surrounded and boxed-in on a war trajectory, by the usual suspects, as evidenced by his recent anti-China speech topics. The people around him whispering stuff in his ear got a missile strike out of him after the fake chemical weapons attack filmed by the western-funded white helmets. So they are going for a new target, using the same tactics.
Right now the election is the focus, and things are forecast to be turbulent regarding street riots amid election indecision relating to mail-in-ballot fraud.
But there is also coup-talk among some retired generals, so now we watch for a false-flag blamed on China. That is what smells right. Ether way, pressure will continue to mount until someone wakes Trump up to the war danger. Some world leaders should just name the names and expose the players.
Nice article, a good way to explain the info war.
China has stated its intentions to be a global hegemon. So your portrayal of the US as the bad guy and China as the victim or good guy is false. China is the same. If you buy into its “shared community” propaganda you are sadly mistaken. Ask any of the countries that live around China. Ask India. Ask Taiwan. Ask Japan. Large concentrations of power of any sort want one thing – to accrete more power, and China’s ruling class is no different.
Really? Where do you get your information from? China has stated those intentions? I bet you cannot put your money where your mouth is, because the opposite is demonstratively true.
China adopted the One Belt, One Road policy largely from its birthmother, Helga Zepp LaRouche, the “Silk Road Lady”. The idea relates to infrastructural development of nations as the antithesis to globalist geopolitics and war.
It began under the rubric of Lyndon LaRouche’s World Land Bridge concept, with a highlight being a high-speed rail tunnel crossing the Bering Strait.
The political aspect was to outflank the western empire crowd, aka the globalists, by large investments in regional infrastructure and efficient transportation networks. Peace through development, between sovereign nation states, as opposed to strongest-take-all.
The reason the western empire crowd is freaking out, is because their economy is in shambles due to years of neglect and financial speculation, at the cost of their physical economy. It’s like the fleas on the dog were so successful at multiplying, they are about to kill the dog. Trump comes in and offers a flea dip, and they are screeching no way. The question is, can Trump save the country while dumping the flea ridden system? Ironically, joining the infrastructure effort led by China is one of the tools he can use to do that.
The main drive of the globalists is to prevent Russia, China, and India, representing roughly 45% of the world’s population, from getting together at a summit with the US, to reset the world financial system on nation-state terms, rather than globalist terms. That’s the only way to amass the power needed to overule the financial oligarchy, and push through nation-state friendly policy, based on dumping speculators, and reinvesting in massive infrastructure and space programs for the jobs and long term benefits to the common people. China and India and Russia are already doing just this, but they should work hard to convince Trump to join them at the table, ignoring the raging war hounds of the west.
The critical timing comes down to the preparations for economic collapse, and how to sort the speculative debt from real debt, like pensions, real investments as opposed to derivatives.
If Trump continues to try to save the economy by bailing out all debt equally, he will run out of money, dollars will hyper-inflate. There is not enough dollars to go around without a complete hyperinflation. He has to do a selective bailout based on Glass Stegal principles. Money directly tied to physical plant and people should be defended, and that tied to wall street’s quadrillions in derivatives should take a bath.
That is the way out for the world. The nation-state supporting power brokers need to assemble, and kick out the central bankers and the globalists, and build the physical economy of the future.
