The biggest development is the announcement by Russia/Putin of Mariupol’s “official liberation.” I’ve written before about how Russia often ‘jumps the gun’ on announcements, but it’s true that the city proper is liberated with the exception of the industrial complex of Azovstal. With that said, there are still upwards of 2000 or more highly trained, fanatical Azov militants and marine remnants of the 36th Brigade holed up in the factory, and they have extreme amounts of incentive not to surrender any time soon.
Bizarrely, western media continues to refer to Mariupol as ‘besieged’ and even Zelensky now claims Mariupol will be taken back soon and that a force is being ‘prepared’ to liberate the city from Russians. It’s hard to discern if this is complete delusion or pure propaganda – maybe a mix of both.
Putin also announced the cancellation of plans to ‘storm’ the complex in order to reduce risks to Russian servicemen, instead opting to besiege it and starve the Zelensky regime militants out.
DPR flag was hung at the highest point of Mariupol in honor of the liberation: https://www.bitchute.com/video/m28IHMBBOm7F/
On the topic of sieging the Azovstal, some additional information: Firstly, according to well-connected Aleksandr Sladkov, the sieged Azovstal remnants have around two weeks’ worth of food/supplies still left and that they had much more but it was destroyed in Russian strikes. So my original guess was roughly accurate that they could theoretically hold out another week or two, maybe more.
But with that said, the remaining allied forces will not simply stand idly by and ‘wait them out’. The tactic will be to continue air and artillery strikes on the factory complex in order to keep the psychological pressure on the Azovites high to accelerate their eventual surrender. So regular combat will continue around the complex, but the troops simply will not attempt to do the job of ‘tunnel rats’ and storm the ‘catacombs’ as Putin put it. As you know some enemy forces still maintain positions on the surface, in buildings etc., and those will continue to be engaged and eliminated while the ones deep below wait and fester.
“The blockade ring around the [Azovstal] plant is now saturated with technical reconnaissance equipment, drones are constantly in the air.” We talked with the former chief of staff of the Alfa anti-terror group, Sergey Polyakov, about how to clean up Azovstal from nationalists: If someone leans out of the ground through the exits from bunkers or storm sewers, and even with a mortar, artillery fire opens on him. Whether it be during the day or at night.” According to Polyakov, aviation will continue preventive point bombing: Following the fire strikes, our assault groups will move forward. Today they took the Azovstal plant management. And so it will continue: the positions of the enemy will be gnawed out meter by meter. Time is now working for us.”
Meanwhile, the Somali Battalion has already been fully recalled for redeployment back to the Donbass, headed mostly to the Avdiivka frontline.
Chechens also celebrate the liberation:
Russian tankers are happy as well: https://www.bitchute.com/video/3f78yPPGv9Rh/
A lot of reconstruction and cleaning up is already happening around Mariupol, administrative services returning and the like. First school classes in some sections as well. Other towns around the region and elsewhere are already de facto integrating into the Russian Federation more and more. For instance passes being issued in Berdiansk for official vehicles are now being registered with a seal that says Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Berdiansk, Russia.
And in liberated LPR cities like Svatove and Starobelsk, LPR license plates for cars are already being issued to replace Ukrainian ones.
A Ukrainian politician has stated the following: “Ludmila Denisova, Ukrainian Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights, says that the Russians are planning to hold an independence referendum in Kherson during May 1-May 10 to create another DNR and LNR like statelet in southern Ukraine. Ballots are reportedly being printed.”
Also:
“Crimean Tatars support the inclusion of Kherson and Zaporozhye regions in the Crimean Federal District. The Crimean Tatars proposed to recreate the Crimean Federal District with the inclusion of the south of Ukraine. This statement was made by the head of the regional national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Tatars Eyvaz Umerov.”
“Residents of the Kherson and Azov parts of the Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine, who once belonged to the Tauride province together with Crimea, speak of their desire to return to Russia, because they no longer want to be under the yoke of Ukrainian nationalists
“At least 2/3 of the residents of southern Ukraine, in particular, Kherson oblast, parts of Nikolayev oblast and Zaporozhye, would vote in favor of joining Russia, if an appropriate referendum were to be held”, says Crimean senator of the Russian Federation Council Sergei Tsekov
Today Ukraine threatened that if ‘Russia holds a referendum for the Kherson People’s Republic, then Ukraine will withdraw from all negotiations with Russia.’ Likely Russia isn’t worried.
And now there’s word that Kharkov too may eventually be allowed to hold a referendum, giving us a clue as to Russia’s ultimate vision for Kharkov Oblast.
“Following the stabilization of the situation in the liberated territories of the Kharkov region, a referendum or a poll of citizens can be held on the political future of the region, head of the interim political administration of the liberated Kharkov region, told RIA Novosti.”
Rustam Minnekaev, deputy commander of the Central Military District of Russia has stated that the goal of Phase 2 is to capture Donbass and create land corridor to Crimea. Then Peskov reaffirmed the goal to integrate most of the southern areas of Ukraine into the ‘Russian space’.
‘Minnekayev also said that controlling southern Ukraine would open “another way to Transnistria,” where he claimed “there are also instances of oppressing the Russian-speaking population.”’
It’s looking more and more likely that some version of the map above is the minimum of what will come about as a result of the SMO. I say minimum because there is no indication whatsoever that Phase 2 is the “final phase”, simply that these are roughly the objectives of Phase 2. There may very well be further phases to capture the rest of Ukraine, although even if/when captured, Russia will most likely not incorporate those territories but rather conduct regime change and thorough de-militarization/de-nazification on the remaining rump-state of Ukraine to make sure it cannot be a threat ever again.
In other news, a group of Communist Party deputies led by Gennady Zyuganov proposed a bill to the State Duma to change the national flag of Russia. They propose to replace the white-blue-red stripes with the Soviet red banner with a hammer and sickle. Doubtful that this will work but they are clearly trying to ride the new wave of patriotism.
Also, Russia will increase the production of Kalibr missiles.
“This conclusion is made by the analyst “InformNapalm” Anton Pavlushko on the basis of data discoveries.
He cites information that the UEC-Saturn plant in the Russian city of Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region, is recruiting up to 500 new employees due to “increase in production volumes.” It is at this plant that engines for Caliber missiles are produced.
And then our Western friends got excited, because according to their version, Russia has long since run out of missiles, and there is nothing to produce new ones from.”
With that said there appears to be sabotage strikes aimed at stopping these efforts as yesterday an important military research facility in Russia suddenly burned down with 7 dead and 20-30 injured. It happened in the same day that a large chemical plant also caught fire under suspicious circumstances.
But not to be left out, the U.S. suffered its own humiliation. A B-1B lancer, one of the U.S.’s most advanced supersonic bombers worth $300 million, burned down during routine maintenance. The whole fleet was grounded last year to investigate problems with the fuel system – I guess they never managed to fix them. The whole fleet seems in trouble.
Another interesting development, in the Donbass a member of the OSCE was arrested for espionage.
OSCE employee detained https://twitter.com/Cyberspec1/status/1517456096956276736
More and more reports recently have come to light showing how deviously the OSCE has been operating. One report said that OSCE officials even provided artillery fire correction for the AFU forces by leaving cameras on their cars in the vicinity which transmitted feeds to the AFU. The organization has truly been exposed as a clandestine operation for the West akin to the White Helmets.
On the war front, Russia has begun bombing rail infrastructure, this time striking bridges and railways in Zaporizhzhia and Dnieperpetrovsk to hamper AFU resupplies.
“BREAKING: A Russia strike in the north of Mykolaiv Oblast has killed up to 80 Ukrainian soldiers and destroyed 23 Armoured vehicles, including a command post.”
It also took control of a massive secret underground arsenal in the Kharkov region, which is said to be the largest in all of Ukraine. https://twitter.com/MarQs__/status/1517549948048494594
This underground bunker has a storied history, reportedly built in WW1 to supply the Russian army and was used strategically in WW2 as well. There appears to be thousands of tons of built up armaments, including western artillery ammo, etc that is now seized by the RF.

— Levi (@Levi_godman) April 22, 2022
On the frontlines, the most significant advances occurred in the north where it’s now being reported by the Ukrainian side that Russia has in fact taken Lozove which is a key city on the way to Lyman which itself is the final key strategic city to encircling Slavyansk, as Lyman controls important transportation corridors in the region.
Last time we reported Kreminna and Torske area falling to RF forces (red circles on the right). But now there is reported fighting either in or on the outskirts of Lyman. Several buildings in Lyman were recorded on fire and sounds of loud gunfire exchanges as well, so Lyman appears to be in the crosshairs next.
However on the Izyum front to the west, RF forces still have not been able to break through to Dovhen’ke (blue circle) as that forested area continues to be a problem with hidden Ukrainian units making breakthrough difficult.
On the southern front, no major advances but the key strategic town of Velyka Novosilka continues to be encircled with settlements on its western flank falling to RF forces.
Meanwhile Nasa Fire Map continues to show the fires moving progressively westward in Popasna, which is a good sign and confirmation that allied forces are in fact pushing out the AFU from the city. I say ‘allied forces’ specifically here because Popasna is said to have a combination of LPR troops, Chechens redirected from Mariupol, and Russian Wagner PMC forces operating concurrently.
France, by the way is now intending to send these artillery systems to Ukraine https://twitter.com/Global_Mil_Info/status/1517553156430962688
A few important words on tactics. We’ve spoke before about how the conflict in Ukraine is becoming Syrianized in the tactics of the AFU who, having most of their heavy weapons/armor destroyed, are mostly now relying on small bandit groups/DRG’s riding around on tacticals (small pickup trucks with larger caliber machine guns in the back) in the manner of ISIS. Like this:
But the hunter is fast becoming the hunted because Russia’s own saboteur groups are now increasingly ambushing these small, roving bandit teams:
Keep in mind, the AFU does have some armor and heavy weapons left, but most of them are tied to the strategically important cities they are defending, and they do not have the fuel or logistical capabilities to utilize their armor in any sort of maneuvering force action or real military operations/advances. They are hidden mostly in and around cities like Kharkov, Nikolayev, etc. Any armor that roams outward is very quickly destroyed by RF forces. And even still, in the urban agglomerations there is not a lot of it relatively speaking.
Another important point that must be made. In the early parts of the SMO, a big deal was made by Kiev around this mythical partisan mobilization that was set to take place. Glorious campaigns of patriotic partisan fighters were heralded in various posters and clips, Molotov cocktail campaigns were paraded on western news channels and we were told that every Ukrainian citizen would rise up against the Russian invader. Each day there was a new announcement, such as Zelensky’s bid to pay citizens tens of thousands $$$ of dollars (funded by the West / CIA of course) for anyone who can kill/capture a Russian soldier or demonstrably destroy a Russian tank or armored vehicle. Similarly, upwards of $1 million dollars was offered to Russian servicemen who would defect and turn over their tank or plane to the AFU.
Not only did any of this ever take place, in fact we saw last time that it was the AFU itself who began selling their tanks to the Russians for Rubles. But the main point to be made is that the giant, widespread partisan uprising was in fact a complete and utter failure. Not only is the vast majority of the Ukrainian citizenry utterly apathetic/ambivalent towards their own armed forces, but there are more and more signs of internal uprisings and new anti-Kiev regime partisan ‘underground cells’ being formed in cities like Nikolayev and Kharkov. One in Kharkov even released a video, their faces masked, promising an uprising against the AFU forces holding them hostage, once Russian forces begin fully taking the city.
Other footage like this continues to emerge:
Showing angry civilians booting out their failing AFU goons from their cities.
The truth is, the longer the conflict goes on, the more the Ukrainian citizenry turns against their own forces and government, not only because of mounting evidence of the AFU’s crimes against their own citizens/civilians but simply because they tire of the war and were never passionate about the utterly corrupt Zelensky regime and its criminal military forces anyway.
After the initial one or two Molotov videos against RF troops in the first week of the war, we never again saw any citizens attacking Russian troops and in fact see the opposite each day. Now whenever we see new Russian missile strikes filmed by Ukrainian citizens, it’s very often accompanied by a complete ambivalence or even quiet jubilation from the people filming.
It has to be recognized that the grand promised awakening of the Ukrainian state, and the large scale partisan uprising was a complete failure – just hollow psyop attempts from the Zelensky regime.
Now as allied forces grind down the AFU, each day the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense posts new claims of Russian losses which are never backed up with visual evidence. Here and there a photo of an empty tank is posted but never any bodies. Meanwhile, our side continues to show incontrovertible proof of massive, horrific losses on the AFU side in the new pushes. Here’s a few new videos. You can tell they’re recent because the AFU are wearing the new green armbands after they started switching from blue in many regions.
Very graphic (18+) https://www.bitchute.com/video/kVufOX6Z2vMd/ (includes a liquidated British mercenary)
We see repeated reports of entire units of the AFU being wiped out, and our side actually has the hard proof in the form of clear photos and videos. It’s clear that the AFU is losing thousands of troops a week. In fact yesterday’s report was over 400 killed just that day alone. There was 300+ killed a few days ago as well in the many strikes that occurred.
And these are just the dead, there are dozens of new prisoners every day. In the last day alone I can’t count the amount of new prisoner videos that are flooding telegram, mostly from the Popasna and Donbass fights. I’d estimate at least 100+ prisoners in the past two days based on the avalanche of new photos/videos.
On that note, one final thing. It’s become sadly obvious that the sheer propaganda from their own commanders is what’s keeping the rest of the AFU from laying down their arms. Here’s a report from a day ago:
“Since the beginning of the military operation and the appearance of Ukrainian prisoners, many of them tell how the Ukrainian command intimidated them with inhuman torture in Russian captivity. They were convinced that Russian officers would torture them, cut them with belts, burn them alive, etc. Having been taken prisoner, they were surprised at the humane attitude towards their miserable skins. However, there are cases when Ukrainian soldiers, believing in the stories of their commanders, try to commit suicide in order not to be captured by Russian “sadists”.”
And such a true story emerged yesterday when two new prisoners were captured, one of them said how their own commander shot himself in the head when the Russian forces approached. However this commander missed and the bullet went through his jaw – he survived and was treated in captivity. There’s a photo of him floating around, I’ll post if I can find it again.
“The photo shows a Ukrainian officer who was captured with his fighters in the area of n. Staromayorskoe village (DPR). But he believed in the tales of his command about torture and decided to leave for another world quickly. He tried to shoot himself, putting the muzzle of his machine gun to his chin, but he chose the wrong trajectory – and the bullet went through the jaw. Now he has to be treated. But this suicide will now be able to make sure that the military-political leadership of Ukraine are liars and traitors.”
The irony is that the Ukrainians are terrified to surrender to the Russians because their command lies to them of the ‘barbarity’ of the Russians with claims they are brutally torturing and killing all captives, hiding the truth from them that it’s in fact their own side that’s doing that to Russian POWs. And the same tactic is used on civilians in besieged cities like Kharkov to keep them from rising up or evacuating. They shoot all civilians who try to leave then say it’s the Russians who are shooting all cars on the road.
I’ll leave with a few final videos. There’s been people constantly asking whether Russian forces have night time capabilities, nightvision, FLIR, etc, etc. Here’s some new videos showing Russian special forces taking out Ukrainian positions at night:
And lastly, I was made aware that last month India tested a Sukhoi launched Brahmos missile on one of their decommissioned Navy ships. Check the photos of the damage here:
https://i.postimg.cc/2SxHmkcL/FQ8cz-Aua-AAAPLzz.jpg
https://i.postimg.cc/TP7CLkXR/FQ8cz-Ava-UAIt-V4c.jpg
https://i.postimg.cc/QMxfd2w4/FQ8cz-Bba-IAE9u-K.jpg
It looks nothing like the minor fire damage we see on the Moskva from the portholes and torpedo tubes as I’ve outlined last time: https://i.postimg.cc/QCbBCyRm/FQl-Q5e-KXIAg-Or-AZ-2.jpg Yet it matches every other real missile hit like the USS Stark and other ships. Moskva is the odd-ball out that looks nothing like the others.
Sure the Brahmos is a larger missile, but Ukrainians claim multiple Neptunes hit the Moskva. Just more food for thought and further evidence that the Neptune strikes are unlikely as the cause of the Moskva’s sinking.
I’m concerned that the ukies will sooner or later use some sort of chemical/biological weapons on advancing Russian and LDPR forces. Things will have to become a lot more hopeless for the ukies first, though, but the danger is there. We could then see massive Russian and allied casualties, which will be blamed by the Zone A psychos on Russians, and we will be told that ‘The inhuman and incompetent Russians screwed up by trying to use BANNED chemical weapons on Ukrainian Civilians, and accidentally hit themselves,’ or something to that effect. Yes, I do believe that the ukronazis and their filthy Zone A benefactors are deranged enough to try something like this in their last hours. Chemical warfare protection needs to be taken more seriously by the Russian forces. LDPR guys, clean shave your faces and have gas masks ready. This isn’t a joke. They are dealing with unhinged animals who will try anything right now.
Some prominent politicians (B.Johnson yesterday, V. Nuland today, etc) are saying that the use of tactical nuclear weapons by Russia would be a red line to finish their West / NATO non interventionism. I am afraid they will use one soon (Azovstal / Odessa / ? …) and frame it on Russia. A bombastic repeatedly announced false flag to prepare / influence world minds?
If the “crazies in the basement” decide to go that route they will be committing suicide, and signing humanity’s death warrant too.
They have shown to be angels of death, so I’ll won’t put it past them.
If they are not busy doing other satanic rituals.
https://www.bitchute.com/video/6sw4JG4Ly9WY/
We know that they attack and kill without motive. A false flag is used to build a false narrative to justify a war. A false flag will not make them stronger. It can at best try to impute a crime to the Russian. And then what happens? They lose no matter what they do.
That is the way I read it, too, unfortunately.
The psychopaths will do anything, especially since they know that Ukraine is toast. DoD and intel know exactly what’s happening, and it’s the exact opposite of what the west is being told.
No doubt the RF has already strategized such an event and will have a number of responses prepared. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
Well, NATO using a tactical nuke and blaming it on Russia for intervention will be a big mistake for the West. They don’t have enough soldiers or weapons in Europe to fight WW3 with Russia + China + India.
Z
Don’t forget to count Serbia in, although Serbian vassal president is sleazy enough Serbian people will join in if nato paper tigers decide to escalate conflict!
This is great opportunity to correct few things and borders being left to be corrected at a later date!
Its absurd. I can understand Russia wish to maintain a functional state in Ukraine.
But when it comes to West, what can obstruct an Iskander in the middle of the next Nato meeting?? Or a Kinzhal in the City of London??
Something is going on under the table. Not too obvious, but not too secret either. You know what I mean?
I am not sure that NATO will directly intervene after a hypothetical use of a tactical nuclear weapon by Russia – they have been indirectly intervening up till now.
The one thing that NATO are afraid of is genuine casualties – particularly significant civilian casualties at home. A nuclear exchange kills nearly everyone – Russia needs to make it crystal clear that any NATO attack will be met with overwhelming force.
A big problem is that the Anglos think that they are invulnerable , having never been invaded or occupied by a hostile army or in the case of America even bombed. This leads to the belief that war is something we do to other people and feeds military adventurism
I agree. I am sitting here in England and war has become a spectator sport that affects others. It is deeply immoral.
Western governments will not manage to persuade populations to make true sacrifices for the very dubious “cause” of Zelensky and his regime. They resemble spoiled children, in Larry Johnson’s words, who are stamping their feet in the face of their own impotency.
The west is committing a deep wrong to both Russia and the Ukrainian people. Have never been so ashamed of my own country; perhaps I ought to have been.
Not correct: England was invaded by the Romans, then Danes then in 1066 at the Battle of Hastings the Normans invaded and occupied the country.
The use of tactical nukes by Russia in Ukraine is a NATO wet dream. It fall into the category of claims that Russia will unilaterally cut off gas supply to the west breaking established contracts. It is simple western ‘checkers’ mentality with no concern for the consequences.
That is not to exclude possibl;e use of tactical nukes should overwhelming NATO forces enter mainland Russia, already formally noted as Russian military doctrine.
At Azovstal if Russia wants it finished faster perhaps the way to end it is to smoke them out – even if they have gas masks they will only last a limited time. Lite some fires up wind.
Or use water cannon.
Or even setup loud speakers playing annoying music loud.
Idea – the loud speakers should play the Beatles “Back In the USSR” song. Over and over.
That will demoralize them.
Or Putin’s favorite songs.
How about someone reading War and Peace to them, in Russian?
Yes good idea.
I doubt they will have brought along cotton wool to put in their ears.
Soviet victory songs. Loop them all night long. Also, some anti-Bandera jokes would really steam the rats underground, and top it off with disinfo that zelensky was caught in a gay tryst
Some of that unharmonic rap or techno music will also do the job.
In the old days playing a 33 rpm record on 78 speed use to work.
Any song.
These people might rather be happy about Zelensky being confirmed gay.
disinfo? but Zelinsky was caught in a gay tryst!
Stockhausen’s music on infinite loop. They would run out with their ears bleeding – those that didn’t commit suicide.
Nickelback and Buckcherry on continuous loop…
A lethal dose of Bryan Adams and Celine Dion will finish them off quickly. Although this may come under excessive cruelty in the Geneva Convention.
There are already noise devices out there for the purpose of subduing crowds. Check out “LRAD” weapons. I would not know if they could be successfully used in combat environments, but then again that is the reasoning for shelling an adversary constantly. It is not necessarily to kill them, but rather to numb their senses. From the looks of some of the Ukraine pictures that appears what the Russians have been doing.

Nah, just tell them that Kadyrov ask them to join the “dance” if they surrender orderly, otherwise it is going to be the Chechen that will dancing above their Catacombs….

Beautiful. What happened to Chechnya is nothing more of a miracle. Today a proud well functioning country full of soul, real men and women.
George Webb on Twitter today thinks NATO may try to stir up trouble in Moldova. George said yesterday that Russia should be rushing north of Avovstal to Igor Kolomoisky’s Kramatorsk steel plant. George thinks there may be biolabs there. Kolomoisky also has a steel plant in Warren, Ohio USA.
Putin and Russia needs to seize anything belonging to Kolomoisky and his cronies.
Russia bombed Kolomoisky’s Kremenchug refinery (the largest in Ukraine) already weeks ago
https://srbin.info/en/svet/ruska-vojska-izvrsila-udar-na-rafineriju-nafte-kolomojski-u-kremencugu/

Confiscate anything with any kolomyisky taint. Also, didn’t this prick bankroll these ukronazis? Now, there’s something for a major court case.
Seeing the Future Map above. I guess it assumes Russia will not go for Kiev/Kyiv. I am hoping they decide to move a bit further Westward in the Ukraine to leave the nazis and their bosses a small state with little value.
No, I think Russia either WILL conquer the rest of Ukraine (including Kiev) in later Phases of the operation OR Kiev will simply capitulate by the time we get to that point. However what I was trying to say was that I don’t think Russia will KEEP Kiev and the western parts. It will conquer them but will not incorporate them into the Russian Federation. There is no real mandate for Russia to do that, whereas the other areas Russia has a strong argument for keeping, as they are ethnic Russian lands. When it conquers Kiev and the rest, it will simply denazify them and demilitarize them to make sure they can’t pose a threat in the future, and it will likely install a leader that is pro-Russian or neutral at the least, to ward over the new rump state.
Agreed. Ukraine really is a monstrous pseudo-nation. The west is European and the east Russian. So a partition will restore the region to its natural boundaries. Long-term peace can prevail with a little common sense and good will.
Maybe they can rename the Western rump state NULAND?
That name covers all of the most important features and players and rhymes with POLAND.
NULAND = N. U. LAND = Nazi Ukraine Land
…with the additional feature of bearing the name of its founder. (hehe)
Those lands ukraine got from Soviets in return for joining the USSR a century ago need to go back to Russia, since USSR no longer exists, and ukraine decided to be a separate country.
She can become President for life and play out her neuroses there.
NATOstan should be named KAGANistan, after the neo-con calling NULAND shots…
“The west is European” – That statement is incorrect. The west Ukraine has a very large Roma/Gypsy population, that is constantly used to live under the relentless discrimination by Banderistas. Many of these Roma/Gypsies have now fled to Slovakia and the Czech Republic, where Czech and Slovak schoolteachers find out that these Roma/Gypsy children can read nor write, and are completely unvaccinated as well. So what is ‘European’ about that? The west Ukraine is on the one side infested with Bandera/UkroNazi sympathisers and on the other side quite notably populated with Roma/Gypsy people that still seem to live in the Stone age (the same backward/ with no education at all Stone age life is being lived by the large Gypsy population in East Slovakia.
Nightvision predicted exactly this just a few days ago. I’d listen to what he says.
Using similar situations around the world in the past I think that once a critical mass of Ukie military are gone, dead/wounded/captured,all it will take is for the police to swap sides and the people will rise up, and the NAZI regime will fall.
Question about Kiev as I’m not familiar with Russian history. How does the Russian elite and public view this city as it’s an ancient capital? Is it viewed as an integral or even sacred part of Russia(n identity), that ideally would be reunited with the motherland? Or is this a fringe view?
Related to this is me wondering if Putin et al will seize this opportunity to take hold of Kiev for its symbolic and historical value.
Kiev is seen as the Mother of all Russian cities and is to be preserved as it contains many historical and religious centres dear to Russians and the Russian Orthodox Church, such as the Kiev Pechersk Lavra and The Saint-Sophia Cathedral.
Sadly over the decades nationalists from the western regions have infested Kiev with the Bandera ideology and the quasi Church of Ukraine now controls many of Russia’s spiritual and historical churches and monasteries, preventing worshipers from visiting.
Thanks Mad Serbian. Sounds like an especially important city to preserve and denazify.
“simply denazify” ?
If you see the crowd of youngsters, stuffing the rows of svododa, C14, right-sektor…etc. etc. and the ongoing “educational” brainwashing since at least Maydan, it appears to be a hard and thorough task that will last a few years. Much harder than the demilitarization.
Nightvision told us that the map was for Phase II only.
Thanks. My mistake. No real rush for Russia. The longer it drags out, the higher the energy prices. Good for Russia and bad for the west but the west did this to themselves. They love their Azov nazis and Igor Kolomooisky’s litte dancing pervert and cokehead.
If they go anywhere after Stage 2 it might be to Moldova.
Thanks for the Sitrep, Nightvision. Wishing you a blessed Good Friday and a Happy Easter.
My bear showed up again last night. He’s a very dark brown, not black. I take it as a very good omen! He eats a lot!
Nice! It’s a good omen indeed ;-)
Not a good idea to feed the bear. He might decide to come indoors to sit at the table.
That’s what zelensky has found LOL
Reminds me of this https://i.postimg.cc/VL6x4LwR/FQpj-RS0-X0-Ac-UMVB.jpg
Ha ha ha ha!!!! I love that picture.
There are two decisive questions for Russia, and especially for Mr. Putin.
The first is the composition of the ruling class in Russia.
The so-called “oligarchs” have no commitment to the sovereignty demands of the Russian Nation-State. On the contrary, with the war many of these billionaires took refuge in Israel.
Enriched through the appropriation of public assets, after the collapse of the USSR, the Russian oligarchy aims to save their own businesses. They will waste no opportunity to betray and sell Russia and its people.
For the Russians to be truly victorious, they need to free themselves from this rotten bourgeoisie, as they already did with their anachronistic aristocracy.
The second issue is the terrible deadlock towards which the war in Ukraine is headed.
Russia’s progressive military success, along with its resilience in the economic field, will inevitably make this a blatant war against the US, and the unipolar world.
When the two powers meet face to face, without subterfuge and intermediaries, we will be a button press away from Armageddon.
Here’s the question: how to defeat the US without resorting to nuclear weapons.
PS: At April 22, but in the year 1500, the lands known today as Brazil were invaded by the Portuguese Empire. Despite a long and bloody history of many rebellions for independence, to this day we have not been able to be fully victorious in our Great Patriotic War.
“How to defeat the US without resorting to nuclear weapons”.
Awareness and rejection of the ideological and psychological dirt imposed from the Empire, especially the financial suppression and exploitation, and to insist on your own cultural qualities and traditions.
The problem is the money. Money buy souls.
The exorbitant privilege of freely issuing the Dollar is what finances the military industrial complex.
This, in turn, is the armed guarantee of exorbitant privilege.
To defeat each one, you must defeat both.

«When the two powers meet face to face, without subterfuge and intermediaries, we will be a button press away from Armageddon.»
It happened already in Korea in the 1950s, and the boundary switched back and forth between chinese-sponsored and USA-sponsored regimes for a few years. It may happen yet if prometheist “Freedom Brigades” from Poland enter southern Ruthenia/west Ukraine to replace the much shrunk ukrainian military to fight the Russian Federation forces. I guess the RF military strategists expect that and that may be way they keep such huge reserves.
More and more I’m starting to think that all this self-inflicted damage from NATO sanctions on Russia is on purpose. I think the ultimate goal is to totally collapse the system in EU while driving the ignorant lemmings to support a new Hitler figure to rise out of the ruins of Europe. He’ll be then turned upon Russia just like WW2 just like how they tried with Zelensky.
Russia is mighty but it simply doesn’t have the manpower to take control of all of Europe even if it does win on the field. This is maybe what the Empire of Lies is after. A bogged down Russia dealing with a recurrence of Nazi infestation in Europe while being bled dry and a blockaded China cut off from exporting to its biggest trading partners.
This way the Empire of Lies can stand back and reap the benefits from destabilizing and ruining all of its enemies and allies much like it did after WW2.
I hope Putin and Xi have effective countermeasures against this strategy.
Just speculation. NATO is not that smart.
Western Europe is a busted flush, destroyed industries, too many old middle class people on excessive pensions, many people barely getting by.. people have commented that mr Putin looks as though he is un comfortable with his decision to start this cleansing operation, I imagine that he knows that at some point there will be the need to cleanse the corrupt ruling classes of the facist states that Western Europe have become, and also the rest of nazostan, and that will take courage.
Regarding Phase 2, I am wondering whether there is a bigger agenda including china and Iran? Phase 2 Iran supports Palestine more vigorously? Phase 3 china welcomes back Taiwan into the fold. Phase 4 the snake heads of US Uk Aus Can get bitten off, the people of the west would rejoice, even if they would feel guilty for their own cowardice
Good lord!
I’d like to see, how you manage to ruin your system, bringing it to the brink of energetic breakdown and de-industrialization,plus a galloping inflation, after which you go on Barbarossa 2.
After what the West is inflicting on itself now, your “strong man”, can’t be strong enough to fight a superior army.
A hungry stomach doesn’t march well and an energy-less steel-plant doesn’t build tanks.
Just unbelievable!😧
And how would China be “blockaded”? Impossible IMO.
The US is going nuts that the Solomon Islands may choose to ally themselves with China. So much for every nation having the right to choose its own alliances. The “Empire of Lies” is the correct sobriquet; and it is obvious why Lavrov and Putin gave up on talking and negotiation.
Makes sense to me, especially if you consider that the US is at the same trying economically destroy and re-arm Germany, which is by far the strongest country in Europe.
Annoying music is what Americans do. Russians are more civilized.
Damage to the Moskva does not appear to show plates bent outward like the photo above of the Indian ship.
Most damage is near the funnel too. Which may also indicate engine or combustion malfunction.
If it uses fuel oil perhaps something has been added (sabotage) or malfunction. Fuel mixture ?
Missile still possible but reports were of fire before the explosion I recall.
But missile not likely.
Moskva engines are a gas turbine system, which like jet engine is more risky to use.
Worn parts, fuel mixture from leak etc…
Could = fire & explosion.
I’m not sure such damage is always present. Outwards bent plates do not seem to be apparent on HMS Sheffield for example.
It’s very hard to tell from such a low quality photograph but the damage on the hull below the main superstructure on the Moskva does look like it could be similar to the damage on HMS Sheffield (or it could just be scorching of the hull fron fire, the photo isn’t clear).
Exocet that hit Sheffield are different missile.
Depends on structure of ship in the hit area – bulkheads, steel type, welding quality, plate thickness, orientation of steel plates on the ship frame rel to forging rolling, if the blast of missile was in plate seam area rather than middle of a plate etc….
And also what munitions and flamables and piping is in the hit area too.
Sheffield hit opened a riff in plates horizontally in mid plate area. Causing more of a plate rip not much bend outwards.
The Ukraine war serves USA to the preparation of the forthcoming arms race with Russia for the control of Arctic.
I do not think the USA can afford it and I am an American. The U.S. printing press may stop working in the near future. Putin and Russia’s gold/oil and gas backed ruble is a major game changer for the world.
Trump and others in the background are fighting the DeepState/Kharzarian Mafia like Putin & Russia but I am not sure Trump will succeed.
I agree with another poster above that Russia and Putin need to claw back more wealth and ownership from the Russian(Israeli) oligarchs who have not loyalty to Russia.
Ukie scum oligarchs like Igor Kolomoiksy need to have everything taken from him along with Pinchuk and others especially TV networks, refineries, steel plants, land and other assets. They need to have a price on their heads for backing the Azov nazis too.
Usa along with every nation under Satanic rule, is destroying itself on multiple levels.
In this specific case throwing away arms and ammunition and SF trainers at a time that is ore ww3.
Stupid but unsurprising as satanic puppet rulers are grossly incompetent
Fascinating update. Strikes me that the SMO has given Ukrainians a unique ‘election’ opportunity and they have ‘voted’ overwhelmingly to dissolve their nation via such widespread disinterest in rallying around the flag if you will.
This is another reason why going slow and methodically has helped events unfold. It shows concretely that Ukrainian citizens aren’t opposing the ‘invasion’ as opposed to it simply being a statement from the RF.
Russia jumps on announcements and the West just makes everything up. Which do you prefer?
well I prefer “Just Truth” like your name, but Russia’s method is usually much closer to reality so I’ll take their version.
Very detailed SitRep. Can’t aak for more. Thank you @NightVision.
Are the Poles nuts?
Found this post in Telegram.
If this is true, the Russians need to act first to secure Odessa and Transdinetria.
Rybar: “According to our sources, the Polish Armed Forces have begun to create a strike force on the territory of Romania. In the near future, it is planned to bring a consolidated contingent into the territory of Moldova under a plausible pretext (peacekeeping operation / humanitarian operation / official government request, etc.).
One of the options for the development of the plan of the Polish leadership is the creation of an advanced bridgehead on the territory of Moldova for the operational capture of Transnistria and the introduction of a “peacekeeping contingent” into the territory of the Odessa region.
Such plans have been hatched for a long time, but in connection with the announcement of the goals of the second phase of the special military operation of the RF Armed Forces, it was decided to force them.”
I think I reported on that in the very last sitrep. Not sure what to make of it, could be some truth to it. Poland should remember this though: https://www.overtdefense.com/2021/03/31/wargame-study-shows-polish-armed-forces-obliterated-just-5-days/
George Webb on Twitter has said he thinks NATO which could mean insane Poland might try to move on Moldova. Insanity.
“Are the Poles nuts”?
Is that a rhetorical question?….😉
Off course the Poles are nuts. If US/UK can make Ukraine to gather a 100 000 Army to invade Russian territory, off course they can make the Poles to commit suicide too.
Thank you for your excellent reports (which leave me ever more appalled at Western media).
Question: If there were 200K true believers/Nazis running Ukraine on February 24th, then what percentage is left?
So, say roughly 50K casualties among these guys after two months, leaving 150K. 25% gone = 25% of Ukraine liberated. At this rate, half of Ukraine will be liberated in two more months (end of June) with the whole country in four more months (by end of August). Does that make sense?
I think not. First of all, what matters are the objectives assigned to the forces. Secondly, in this war of attrition, the Ukr are not supplied, and in addition, the bombing of stocks and infrastructure is increasing. The process is not linear. There are thresholds depending on the location and the pressure of the operations.
It appears that a collapse is contained by the pressure of the commanders on the soldiers and those of the extremists in each unit. There too there is certainly a threshold. And it has been exceeded in many places, in fact everywhere where there are mass surrenders. And this will continue and probably increase under the pressure of Russian fire, lack of food, care, etc…
Thank you for your thoughtful reply.
Agreed. The process will speed up with defections, internal battles between the Ukrainians themselves and logistical issues. e.g. Mariupol probably contained the hardest of the hard core guys and the rest of the country can see what happened to them.
So first two months 25% reduction (200-150K Nazi force), then next two months 50% more (150K to 50K) then remaining 25% marginalized.
So we are looking at end of June then?
Hope this is true, regardless having some framework to think about this helps me to put this war into some perspective. The daily back and forth (Russia took this village, no it’s still in Ukie hands, etc.) is mentally exhausting.
When a Ukie commander can’t even blow his own head off you understand where Mr Martyanov is coming from.
Regarding those dense forests that are preventing/hampering RF’s forward advance with Ukies like squirrels up a tree, why not carpet bomb them as long as Russia promises to plant 2 trees for every one lost? They’d get support from Friends of the Earth and other fake leaches.
Remember Russian trees are banned in Europe.
The level of disinformation and propaganda effects in the west is quite entertaining. I follow the linked site out of interest as they do resist many of the woke agendas and provide some insight into the still mostly civil civil war in the USA for parental and cultural rights. For some reason, one of the editors has taken it upon herself to provide detailed pro-Ukrainian disinformation. The comment section can be most entertaining:
https://legalinsurrection.com/2022/04/ukraine-updates-mariupol-on-edge-russia-takes-42-villages-in-donetsk-region/
So the linked article refers to a Zelensky spokesperson as Olena Semoynoko, but I’m wondering if it’s Olena Semenyaka. She’s the intellectual/philosophical leader of Azov. Beyond Bandera with intermarium dreams and a follower of Dontsov with the whole “mongol Russians”.

@Lex,
Hard to say, this lady seems quite attached to the colours blue and gold and lives in Kiev: https://www.instagram.com/79alenka/?hl=en
I would also not discount a deliberate misdirection or misspelling or your catch either. ;-)
The article I linked probably lifted the insert from Reuters or usnews.

«Hard to say, this lady seems quite attached to the colours blue and gold»
They were the heraldic colors of the Kingdom of Ruthenia (note in particular the pretty much exact copy adopted by the “Ruthenian National Guard in 1848”).

This blog sometimes becomes the only source of information for people who do not have other means except MSM. Watching the videos is difficult enough. Reading passionate comments is another difficult part.
Some comments have to be read to understand perspectives, but they are often very few.
I assume a lot of readership lives in the West, obvious from the refined English used in comments.
As an outsider living in the West myself, I understand how things unfolded for Russia and Ukraine.
I still believe that in the long term Russia and Ukraine will have some degree of peace leading to forgiveness when the dust settles. In the heat of the moment whatever is happening cannot be stopped.
But for the passionate readers of these articles I will state what Nietzche said, that “whoever fights monsters should worry that he himslef does not become a monster. For when you gaze into the abyss long enough, they abyss will gaze back into you”.
Whoever is hiding in the steel factory, there may be ten people with a human heart for one with a devil’s heart, probably holding everyone else against their will.
As people living in comfort we do not have the authority to judge the actions of either side. I sincerely hope that people like that choose to become prisoners and give a chance to future reconciliation between these two great peoples of Russia and Ukraine, rather than make matters so much worse as to allow the bitter memories to live on forever. Every single person dying is a loss to several families.
Let us hope that a majority of people will not lose sight of final objective of war – peace and security.
After all, it is only a brave person who has the power to stay calm in the heat of the battle.
Biden — ‘Every vehicle in the military will be climate friendly’…
https://citizenfreepress.com/breaking/biden-every-vehicle-in-military-will-be-climate-friendly/
I read an article stating that it’s total bullshit that weapons from the West are flowing into Ukraine.
I would think that even if some did get in , they would get destroyed by Russia.
We’re now going to kill you in an environmentally friendly manner.
I bet the neolib-greenies are chuffed to bits!
They’ll make Yank military personal wear tie-dye shirts and peace beads next..
just to top it off – why not gender fluid as well?
As I posted on another forum a few weeks back Russia’s plan is to cut Ukraine in half along the Dnieper River in the end. They might take a few towns/cities more to the west but only to “lose” them through the peace negotiations further down the track. Something similar to Germany after WW2 with Kyiv being proclaimed a district akin district Brčko in Bosnia.
Nonetheless there are so many parallel patterns between Ukrainian conflict and the conflicts played in 90s in Croatia and Bosnia from raise of nationalism, denial of cultural diversity, proclamation of independent republics, ethnic cleansing and genocide.
I honestly only can see Ukraine either divided or made non functional country by some “international” agreement as Dayton agreement made Bosnia as such.
Just my two cents on this matter.
I really hope Russia and Putin do not try to do a Dayton or Minsk 2. Lives have been lost. They were lost by DPR and LPR about 5 years ago and they agreed on Minsk. DPR and LPR were not happy but went along. Ukraine and the Azov nazis then lied and did nothing to abide by Minsk.
Russia will need to go further west. If the new eastern Ukraine or LPR/DPR/NovoRussia does not have evil nazis and criminals like Kolomoisky, Pinchuk, Poroshenko, Yats and others then Novo Russia should be able to have a good economy, safety and relative properity.
They’ll keep some lands west of the Dniper river. The key is to cut off access to the south. “Ukraine” is to be a landlocked state like Moldova, a burden on the EU and ultimately – maybe in a generation or two – a candidate for admission into the Russian Federation. All depends on whether Russia’s vision of itself as the beginning of Eurasia is accurate or not; a lot depends on the Chinese as well.
The image of Popasna is from NASA FIRMS. I’ve been using that web site for some time to locate air strikes, missile strikes, etc. Not every thermal anomaly is due to military action, but they seem to correspond to oil refineries and rail lines quite well.
Those videos are terrible, Ukraine should surrender immediately to spare their lives.
Nightvision: Bizarrely, western media continues to refer to Mariupol as ‘besieged’ and even Zelensky now claims Mariupol will be taken back soon and that a force is being ‘prepared’ to liberate the city from Russians. It’s hard to discern if this is complete delusion or pure propaganda – maybe a mix of both.”
Ironically, this is a similar situation to one in early WWII. After Pearl Harbor, Japanese forces invaded the Philippines and fought their way down the main island of Luzon. American forces became ‘besieged’ in the Bataan Peninsula. At that time (before Midway), the Japanese Navy had a definite superiority in the western Pacific. The Americans in the Bataan Peninsula were going nowhere. Not to mention running out of supplies, gas, ammo, etc.
Nevertheless, American political and military leaders kept up the hope that the defenders would somehow be rescued or reinforced – right up until their surrender. It was important for the morale of the nation; hence the propaganda.
The irony is that the Ukrainians are in the same position, using the same language, and for the same reasons…
That is an interesting perspective and I think you are correct about the same psychology coming into play. However, from Yorktown to Bataan to Stalingrad there were people genuinely trying to get those forces out, despite the long odds.
But in this case, all of us here at Saker, know these guys are just being used as cannon fodder, to either weaken Putin or get ink on US petroleum and arms contracts to Europe.
I would be more interested to know what psychology drove them all to get into bed with the CIA and Victoria Nuland in the first place? How stupid or naïve do you have to be?
“To be an enemy of the United States is dangerous, to be a friend is fatal.” ~ Henry Kissinger
Rokossovsky: “I would be more interested to know what psychology drove them all to get into bed with the CIA and Victoria Nuland in the first place? How stupid or naïve do you have to be?”
Yes, that is intriguing for me, too. While still being under Russian loose ‘political supervision’ after the USSR breakup, Ukrainian manufacturing had been progressively built-up under the Soviet system. They had guaranteed sales into the ex-Soviet areas. Both countries were benefiting. Life would have been good for ordinary Ukrainians, by just not rocking the boat (excessively).
Hopefully, we will find out where the ‘poisoning’ began. CIA archives will eventually be unclassified or leaked. Maidan did not occur in a vacuum; there was careful prep-work beforehand…
For the ‘elites’ – money. There’s more money to be made in the Western orbit than in Russia.
For the rabid nationalists – their entire existence is predicated on hatred of Russia, so why not team up with the US who also hate Russia.
For the rest of the population, I refer you to a well known quote from Hermann Goering.
Today’s stock market took a big dump. Wall-Street-Journal has a list of reasons. One of their reasons is the WAR (in Kievan Russ). Apparently, the Zio American Anglo Imperialists are highly unhappy that the Russians are SHOOTING!!! Have you seen the vast proliferation of the old RED FLAG with the Hammer and Sickle – that is being waved by the Russian Army, as well as their citizens?
The Russians are defending themselves, and that might give some ideas to others, even We American sheeple.
Follow the money$.
The Russians are defending themselves in the ultimate manner – before God & History. We Americans must join them.
*I have been distributing a Flier, which I will send to The Saker, along with a suggested Reading list for my People. He is free to publish it here, or not!
**I have a good feeling about all this. The Russians are shooting!
I’m 75 Durruti and have been ashamed American since Viet Nam. In my wildest, tearful, hopeful moments I see this Russia SMO as the last chance for a sane humanity. You seem to have a clearer picture of that than I do, but it would be glorious legacy for this old man.
Thanks for the great Sitrep, Nightvision.
I think you make an important point: we do not know how many phases will come after phase 2. Ukraine is just one theatre of this war. If NATO continues along it’s misguided path of expansion and hostility, who knows where this will end.
One other thought: this SMO or war is not easy for Russia. The Empire has been hoping and preparing for this for 8 years. Though in decline and internal decay, the Empire did not get to be an empire through wokeism. It is still formidable in size, influence, and cunning, and in the sheer force of malice towards “the other”. No one should underestimate them, nor think the end a foregone conclusion. Wisdom, skill and courage will be needed. Overconfidence erodes fortitude in the long run.
I came across this great speech by the Caledonian Chieftain Calgacus in the Scottish Highlands on the eve of the Battle of Graupius against the Roman Empire in 84 AD:
“You have not tasted servitude. There is no land beyond us and even the sea is no safe refuge when we are threatened by the Roman fleet….We are the last people on earth, and the last to be free: our very remoteness in a land known only to rumour has protected us up till this day. Today the furthest bounds of Britain lie open—and everything unknown is given an inflated worth. But now there is no people beyond us, nothing but tides and rocks and, more deadly than these, the Romans. It is no use trying to escape their arrogance by submission or good behaviour. They have pillaged the world: when the land has nothing left for men who ravage everything, they scour the sea. If an enemy is rich, they are greedy, if he is poor, they crave glory. Neither East nor West can sate their appetite. They are the only people on earth to covet wealth and poverty with equal craving. They plunder, they butcher, they ravish, and call it by the lying name of ‘empire’. They make a desert and call it ‘peace’.”

I’ve read here in MI6land that Boris has agreed to send tanks to the Ukraine. I don’t know how they’ll get them in but David Copperfield and Uri Geller are involved, the former had done a great job with the 9/11 Twin Towers holograms,
They could build a Colditz style tunnel starting from Dover all the way over to Lviv. British ingenuity being what it is, it shouldn’t take long.
If they do manage to get them there quick time- using Derren Brown, Eileen Drury, Dynamo, Dr Strange whoever, I bet the Russian Air Force will be licking their lips….’oh goody, more target practice’.
Well they are 2 years behind the Elizabeth Railway line connecting east and west London, still no news on when it will open. HM will be dead at this rate
Maybe the perfidious dogs are running it to Kiev.
Zelensky declared today where the final outcome of the war is being now decided:
“’Izyum direction, Donbas, Azov coast, Mariupol, Kherson Oblast are the places where the fate of this war and the future of our state is being decided now,’ said President Volodymyr Zelensky in his daily address.” (Kyiv Independent)
Donbass is lost to him. Mariupol is lost. I read somewhere that since March 19 Russia controls the whole Azov coast. Izyum is in Eastern Ukraine, so also lost. I gather from this Sitrep that fighting continues in the Kherson Oblast, and that Zelensky does not have the support of the population there.
Perhaps he’ll change these terms once Eastern Ukraine is acknowledged to be definitely lost to Ukraine.
Overall, he sounds confused about the situation in his country. There is no room for those victories he needs to win this war and retain his state.
Who is this General Rustam Minnekayev? I heard about the statement he (allegedly) made today. I like that idea: Russia liberating the historically Russian parts of the country currently known as Ukraine. That means all the territory adjacent to the Black Sea, all the way up to the Transnistria.
Anyway, it sounds like Minnekayev is Moslem. Maybe he’s from the Caucasus. I think it’s cool that a Moslem guy like Minnekayev is talking this way to Kiev. That’s because so many Ukies are racist, Islamophobic pigs. At least that’s my experience with Ukies, based on the many that I’ve dealt with over the past decade and half.
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/russia-says-it-plans-full-control-donbas-southern-ukraine-ifax-2022-04-22/
At first I thought there was a mixup because even reuters is reporting this guy as a deputy commander but the closest person I could find is this president of Tartarstan, an ethnic Tartar himself https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rustam_Minnikhanov
but the name is slightly different but now I see that Rustam Minnekayev is in fact listed as deputy commander of the central military district (whose headquarters is actually not far from Tartarstan) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Military_District
“Deputy commanders
Lieutenant General Evgeny Poplavsky (November 2018 – present)
Major General Rustam Minnekaev (December 2020 – present); Deputy Commander for Military-Political Work – Head of the Department for Military-Political Work”
It is strategic idiocy to leave a border between a rump Ukrainian state and Russian republics. The Empire of Lies will use the rump state to launch attacks on the Russian republics, to ensure that Russia keeps spending money on war.
The only way forward is destroy Ukraine and reconstitute it as a Russia-friendly nation. Put a brutal dictator in place to keep the peace, and place an iron curtain between the new nation and NATO.
Develop and institute a brutal repression mechanism such as under Stalin and Beria, and transport troublemakers to Siberia for extermination. Or, if the EU is willing, exile them to western Europe where they can become Europe’s problem.
Better send them to Siberia instead of exterminations.
Abroud they will organise themselves and through infiltrations of EU institutions gain political power. In a later stage their children will be placed in important political functions inside EU and US. We would not have this war in Ukraine without these Ukraine and Russian immigrants behind the scene.
I mean just look at the names of the main western actors who re driving this war and russophobia: Nuland, Soros, Freeland, ……many many others
What such astonishing warriors are those Chechens! Bullets nearly miss them and they continue as if it were an ordinary day in their life.
May someone please tell me what are they saying when shouting and cheering at the end? I understand Allah Akbar and something like “see-lah”, but I have no idea what they say, not even identifying the language of their shouting.
They as saying “сила” pronounced silah meaning “power” or “force”
Andrei
It would be scary to have them as enemies…
They say Akhmat Sila which means sort of the equivalent of “Akmat power/force” or “Akmat is strong!” this is after Ramzan Kadyrov’s (head of Chechnya) father who was named Akmat Kadyrov who famously switched sides in the Chechen wars and joined Putin, but was later assassinated for this by the bad jihadist Chechens. So now Kadyrov honors him with this phrase ‘Akmat sila!’ but in the video I posted, Adam Delimkhanov (guy with white beard) shouts Akmhat Sila, Rossiya Sila (Russia power), sounds like Donetsk Sila, etc etc.
“Akhmat Sila” have a distinct flag, which is the Chechen nation flag but with an illustrated picture of Akhmat Kadyrov on it. The entire unit, it’s name & symbolism is a tribute to Ramzan Kadyrov’s father.
Thanks!
Sila seems to come from a Slavic language. In Polish, “siła” means strength.
It means the same in Russian. Strenght.
Nightvision,
If you look at the photo of the Moskva, you can’t see more than half of the cruiser’s bow. And you can’t see why the photo was treated. You can’t even see the eight missile silos on the port side.
Yesterday I asked Nightvision about what he thought of another state for the Russian Federation, New Russia with capital in Odessa as General Rustam Minnekayev has already come today to confirm and Nightvision has not responded?! Why don’t you usually answer users’ questions is that?
Thanks.
Hi, I’m not sure exactly what it is you’re saying. I can see that the bow of the cruiser is intact and I’m not sure what you mean by the photo being ‘treated’ ? As for the “8 missile silos on the port side” I can see them clearly and they are intact, if you are referring to the P-1000 missiles that is. Have you seen the Sitrep regarding the Moskva:
/sitrep-operation-z-11/
Anyway to answer your 2nd question, it looks like something along those lines is going to happen. So yes what you said will probably happen, and I agree with it and fully support it.
Thanks. I couldn’t see any further ahead of the Moskva Winch.
Thanks.
Paulo Guerra, maybe (and hopefully) I misunderstand when you write: “Why don’t you usually answer…”, but if you mean “why isn’t Nightvision answering…”, I have to ask: Do you really expect the authors of articles to sit stand-by, waiting for your questions, and immediatly answer you?
I find that pretty arrogant.
Nightvision is working so hard to prepare the sitreps, and very humbly tries to give us all information he can.
Don’t take for granted that he has the time to answer every question 24/7.
“Showing angry civilians booting out their failing AFU goons from their cities”
Excuse my profound linguistic ignorance but could someone on this blog give us a brief description of what those civilians are saying to the Ukron goon in above video. I can guess, but it isn’t the same as knowing. Thanks in advance.
“people constantly asking whether Russian forces have night time capabilities”
I find it extraordinary that there are some people out there who think the Russian Military are the antithesis of Count Dracula- they only come out to play during daylight hours!?!….blimey.
They were complaining about the Ukr Solder taking the guys phone. They wanted his phone back. A little early I think to be talking about a populist putsch!
My guess was way off, hence the question. Thanks for the interpretation.
The angry civilians booting out the AFU goon down the road, passed over a word printed on the street: “STOP”.
What am I missing?
I have no idea what you’re missing.
Maybe you could ask Cyric?
Can someone explain to me why Russia does nothing about the Arms shipments to Ukraine? We have gone from purely “Defensive” weapons to Tanks and Howitzers. You can say all you want about it not impacting the war in the Donbass but eventually it will have an impact if Ukraine doesn’t surrender. Russia blows up some supplies, but it can’t possibly get them all.
What it would it take for Russia to name another country as a Co-Belligerent? Would they accept a Nuclear Bomb being delivered to Ukraine? Is there nothing that Russia would object too? I just find the situation to be ridiculous. I have studied military history all my life and I can’t think of conflict where this would be permitted. People in Russia feel the same way. They don’t understand why arms delivery is allowed 24/7, 7 days a week. Nor do they understand why the Railroads coming in from Poland and Romania are still working.
Russia has warned at least half a dozen times about arms supply convoys being a legitimate target but it looks like it is an idle threat. Maybe if Kiev gets a hold of some ballistic missiles and starts hitting Moscow and St. Petersburgh, someone in the Russian MOD might wake up. Watch for the May 9th parade. It Kiev can rain down missiles on that, they will. After all, the lame reaction to the shelling of civilians has only emboldened them.
Seems a tad strange to me that you’ve studied military history that long and have never seen this in a conflict before, when in fact this is quite common in literally every proxy war conflict in history, so I’m not sure how you missed it? I mean hell, in the Korean War, Russia not only supplied tons of weaponry and planes but even FLEW the planes themselves. Russian pilots actually flew Mig-15’s and shot down / killed American pilots. This is par for the course and is quite normal.
I’ll concede that this one may turn out to be the largest such project ever BUT to be honest, it may turn out to be mostly smoke too. The U.S. and ‘allies’ have talked alot but so far I haven’t seen much of their junk make it to the front. We’ve heard for over a month now about planes and tanks and to my knowledge nothing has been delivered of that yet.
But with that said, IF it does all get delivered, I’m curious what is it exactly you expect Russia to do? You mentioned naming other countries as ‘co-belligerents’. So what does that mean in your book, are you saying Russia should declare war on the U.S.? Just like U.S. can’t do anything when Russia arms its enemies (Iran, Syria, etc), Russia can’t really do anything in the reverse either. I mean it “can” but it would be WW3 so what’s the point of that?
“Can someone explain to me why Russia does nothing about the Arms shipments to Ukraine?“
This is another confirmation that there has been a complete black out/ distraction from the missile strikes on NATO deliveries on Monday. Not a single person I’ve talked to knows anything about it.
Douglas MacGregor on Tucker mentions it as a future possibility. (Though I’m sure he’s aware it already happened)
If you’re an info warrior for RUS, focus on this strike and hammer at it.
I can’t find the link right now, but there was a mention of a UKR investigation for a RUS mole because ALL 3 secret locations were hit with cruise missiles.
As Andrei M suggests – focus on logistics.
Even today, photos of capture on a train of boxes of the ‘crowd source’ shipments of drones, etc.
“…it may turn out to be mostly smoke too.”
Yes, but looks like those shipments are now arriving or about to arrive. In his radio address tonight Zelensky said his partners had “finally heard” his request for weapons. I don’t know which weapons he referred to. Reportedly, his full address is in Telegram.
I listened to Glenn Beck on the radio this morning asking Bill O’Reilly what he thought of weapon deliveries now including howitzer artillery and some other weapon. Beck has some big concerns about it and asked him a leading question. O’Reilly answered that it was fine and that “Russia is losing the ground war” (!). Funny that he reads the MSM he “hates”, yet is instructed by it when he likes to and believes it over other sources that he ignores…
In 1945 as the UK and American forces entered germany a pattern developed. The first day a city was occupied the Germans regarded them as enemies, 2nd day little children would try and get food and as their mothers came out to collect their children contact was established, The 3rd day the Germans relaxed as they realized no more bombing raids, The fourth day the germans approached allies to organize democratic elections as the Germans had been too polluted by Nazism, along with fervent hatred of the Nazis, No more bombs , no more sending men off to die, and no Gestapo.
I think similiar things will happen all over Ukraine where the locals dialect is enough that they can understand Russian, Culturally and linguistically part of the Russian world and Ukraine run by crazed nazis and economy run into ground and looted by oligarchs, Many will want to join Russia.

Can someone explain why they do not just flood the tunnels? Or freak them out by pretending to?
Well firstly because they’re not even at the actual center of the industrial complex yet, there’s still some outlying areas they’d have to bypass first so they don’t really even have access to the areas directly above where the rats are likely hiding in their bunkers. Secondly it’s hard to quite grasp the scale of the complex, there’s miles of underground structures, the complex was one of the largest in the world and is the size of a small city, several dozen square kilometers. Flooding it successfully may be completely unrealistic as it would take a veritable ocean of water to flood everything and it’s so vast and intricate for all we know the rats have ways to keep moving and avoiding the water. So it may simply be faster to wait them out if the allies calculate that it may take a week or two at most before the rats start eating themselves. It’s hard to know for definite, but for all we know maybe they still do plan to flood it, like I said they just have to get closer to the interior of it first, they’re still only on the perimeter of the vast complex, just sort of surrounding/enclosing it but not really entering inside as there’s still too many sniper nests and such all over.
That said, it would be probably easier (when main above ground structure is taken) to find all exits/entrances for below ground, and ventilation shafts (not easy, but doable) and block them somehow (pour concrete or place rubble over entrances, collapse them with explosives). They would be buried alive. It is cruel, but many chances to surrender were given.
Flooding ?
They want to capture them alive. They need witness testimony for the war crimes trials. Also, there are likely many dozen NATO officers holed up in the catacombs. Those NATOofficers will also provide excellent testimony for the war crimes trials.
The Brahmos hit was without a warhead. Purely from kinetic energy. With the warhead the ship would have broken in half and sunk. Neptune with a warhead would surely have produced a hole. Sabotage?
I could watch those clips million times, they keep me on high the best stuff ever God bless Russian Federation!
It is interesting there is some debate on Telegram Rybar channel as to why even more has not been done regarding stemming influx of Ukrainian reserves and armaments to Donbass grouping. True, there were strikes lately. But, if you consider, why let Ukrainians themselves destroy bridges over Dnieper on retreat, vwhen Russia can take iniatitive now and save her own soldiers lives?
Same thing for many strategic railway junctions in the Western Ukraine, where Western aid is transported massively. Strange indeed, especially because costs for rebuilding this area will probably not fall on Russians.
I speculated on another Sitrep that enticing the AFU into the Donbas may be intentional.
The recently conscripted and reserve troops will be useless. The best they can do is absorb a disproportionate amount of Russian fire, and/or if they’re lucky they may clog the Russians’ PoW processing system. The latter is actually a win for Russia as their tales of humane treatment will disseminate and create the cognitive dissonance that the Russians need to convert the ambivalent and fence sitters that Russian rule may indeed offer a better life.
To be strategically useful to the Russians, they need to be the best of what is currently guarding cities like Kiev and Odessa. Depleting the guard and bottling them up in the Donbas will make taking those cities a lot less brutal. Best to let them and all the weapons they can carry into the Donbas and then blow up their avenues of re-supply and retreat behind them.
Better to fight them in the Donbas where supply & relief lines are short and relatively secure than to fight door-to-door in large cities. Once they’re there with few civilians to hide behind, the hitherto quiet Russian Aerospace Forces can be unleashed to make their life a (short) hell.
At any rate, the more I hear about the AFU’s Donbas contingent getting relieved and reinforced, the more I think that they’re doing so at the pleasure of Russian command and so the apparent ease with which they’re doing it has gotta have a price.
Looks like a trap to me.
Yes, if true, that move by Russians will probably be studied in military schools world- wide.
The quality of the analysis is striking. Cannot be repeated too often.
Historically, the British have favored sneak attacks that ‘go around’ the enemy. When engineering a weapon-systems delivery of particular importance, I would bet on the area immediately west/southwest of Odessa, via land or sea. It lands them relatively close to the lines/an exposed Russian flank, and minus a hazardous cross-country convoy. History is very reliable at predicting the future.
A bio-weapons or chemical event is a certainty. In the minds of the Nazis, the Russia-speaking population of Ukraine do not deserve to live. Anything that occurred in Berlin from February-April 1945 is in play.
As more heavy weapons make their way to Ukraine, it has become a vacuum into which a significant amount of ordnance simply disappears. What happens when a member of ISIS carts off a couple of Manpads or NLAWS and aims one at a passenger jet in European airspace? Who will take the blame?
Finally, I remember reading that the Mongols never/rarely occupied the territory they conquered. I think Russia must occupy Kiev, even if to withdraw after they have established control of the territory they deem necessary for ‘victory’. An occupying force covering all of present Ukraine would be an enormous drain on Russia’s economy.
The determining factor in the Industrial plant holdout may be whether or not the Nazis have access to stimulants
Hello Nightvision
I have a question. Why didn’t the Russian forces directly go for the Ukrainian leadership (President, defense minister, SBU) and other crucial points with their standoff weapons?
Wouldn’t that have crippled Ukraine and ended the fight in less than a month?
I know that such attacks need to be accurate and intel has to be precise, but imo, the Russians at least could’ve killed Zelensky. It would’ve probably created a power struggle amongst the Ukrainian elites.
Several reasons:
– Difficulty of finding him; Zelensky as a single person is easy to move around/hide. That makes him difficult to pinpoint, even for the Russians. On one occasion, he was clearly on the border to Poland when he was claimed to be in Kiev, and that’s just one example. There were a few occasions where there was reliable, public real time information about his whereabouts, but that was typically when he was giving pressers in his palace and the like. Attacking him on such an occasion would bring too much collateral damage.
– Zelensky not really being in power; Zelensky is clearly not calling the shots in Ukraine. Most importantly, his negotiating team made concessions to the Russians that Ukraine then reneged upon under Western pressure.
– Zelensky as a political asset to the Russians; That sounds paradoxical but it has been pointed out in this forum repeatedly. If Zelensky can be made to sign a surrender agreement, then it will be difficult for the West to renege upon it since Zelensky has been lionized to such a great extent. The West would try everything to prevent the signing, of course, but why not keep the option even if it’s only theoretical?
– Keeping the goodwill of Russia’s allies. First and foremost China but also countries like India require a posture taken by Russia that includes a diplomatic component as opposed to just war. Going after Zelensky would be highly counterproductive in that respect.
– Zelensky as an embodiement of the depravity of the Empire of Lies and Hate; Just look up various videos showing Zelensky striking, let’s say, less than favorable poses or openly admitting to his drug abuse. That’s of tremendous propaganda value. Who knows, with Zelensky gone, his successor might be someone more presentable.
Thanks for the report. Very good news to hear Ukrainians now seeing who their real enemy is. Even in western part of Ukraine a lot of citizens may have been brainwashed by years of western media psyops, but surely they haven’t totally lost their minds to really know what’s going on. How could any proud Ukrainian believe a clown – Zelinski – to be the true leader of his/her nation? Wasn’t Zelinski the one playing piano with his ….in front of millions TV viewers. Don’t Ukrainians see that Zelinski and his handlers are today playing piano with their …. not only on the Ukrainians but also on other people around the globe? This war is a Zelinski & Co prank staged against Russia, Ukraine and the world by the globalists. It could have been avoided by simply agreeing to some completely rational policies which would have benefited all the parties involved. I am not a Russian nor Ukrainian, don’t speak the language either, however just the other day watched the Ukrainian Ambassador doing an interview with an Iranian media. Well his speaking sounded a whole lot like Russian and we could see Orthodox religious icons in the background. On the other hand the official spoke completely irrationally regarding the main issues and grudges with Russia.
“There may very well be further phases to capture the rest of Ukraine, although even if/when captured, Russia will most likely not incorporate those territories but rather conduct regime change and thorough de-militarization/de-nazification on the remaining rump-state of Ukraine to make sure it cannot be a threat ever again.”
Impossible without incorporation.

There are lot of “analysts,” but none have access to the command/strategic centre of the Russian army. Lately, there are less info coming from Russian MOD, so all we can do is wait for things to happen.

Biden keeps sending weapons to Zelensky. If they aren’t blown up before he can get his hands on them, I have little doubt that he will try to retake Mariupol. Even if he fails, it will do to Russian forces what the assault on Kiev did to Ukraine forces… and it will extend the conflict, which is, I think, all Biden really wants
Because only the port side of the Mosvka was seen in the images and most images of missiles strikes are unsurprisingly more dramatic on one side than the other. The side that took the explosion is the side that is listing.
A missile is like a high velocity round, entry and exit holes.
To make a statement based on partial information is just making a statement based on assumptions.
I’ve made a couple of assumptions myself on my blog, yet I can only confirm a couple of aspects. https://natsouth.livejournal.com
I will in due course, write more about these assumptions that are doing the rounds of social media.
Nat South
It could be that Moskva was hit by a very different type of ASM missile as well. The NSM missile has a 125kg blast fragmentation missile. 30% percent of the HE energy goes into fragmentation so there is very little
blast associated with this missile:
https://seaforces.org/wpnsys/SURFACE/KDS-Naval-Strike-Missile.htm
“After being launched into the air by a solid rocket booster which is jettisoned upon burning out, the missile is propelled to its target in high subsonic speed by a turbojet sustainer engine – leaving the 125 kg multi-purpose blast/fragmentation warhead to do its work, which in case of a ship target means impacting the ship at or near the water line.”
Nothing is worse than Russia now going for the South Ukraine. She can no longer be defended as moving within the realm of article 51 and makes it very hard on the people trying to defend Russia diplomatically.
So phase 2 has begun already? Right? Just asking because Some say this, some say that. In case phase 2 has really started then it feels like phase 1 ended. Every day same press briefings from MOD what they ve everything destroyed but on maps u cant find any significant changes since few weeks. Ukraine troops are far away from collapse. By continuously repeating that the fortifications of Ukraine forces are so strong can not hide its own inability to conduct breakthrough military operations. What kind of fortifications do the UAF have? Lets Put the cheap civillian excuses aside and focus on the fortifications at the frontlines outside. From the available material i ve learned the main areas outside are scattered with trenches and checkpoints. Ordinary cheap trenches like in World war 1 nothig special. With Nowdays weapon systems these kind of trenches are perfect graves for every soldiers inside. Two days intensive carpet bombing of these trenches will open the way for the tanks to breakthrough. Same with the checkpoints or trenches in forrest. Burn down the forrest.
I mean its nice to hear how much equipment has been destroyed but it has not any effect so far on the frontlines. Moreover the resupplying by the WESTERN PARTNERS is running on JUST IN TIME deliveries.
The western partners have started already with deliveries of heavy weaponary.
Lazar,
If that is so easy, how come NATO did not manage to destroy Serbian ground force in Kosovo in 1999? I mean, they had even larger air superiority then Russians today have.
Igor the reason was that our army and special police forces were not massivly entrenched (like ukraine) and maximal mobile especially in the nights. There was a permanent rotation of positions during the nights. Unlike overstrained Milosevic the serbian army performed quite well by Camouflage everything and giving the enemy totally wrong picture of situation at place. U could monitor from the new postion during the day how Nato carpet bombed the positon were before our troops have been located. After Nato sold the campagen as success. Serbs never denied and led them believe about their success ;)
Between the dummy tanks entranched there was always one old inoperable tank. After capet bombing pictures of destroyed parts of the inoperable tank has been forwarded to german mainstream news in the name of UCK.
If i remember good only in the Kosovo campaign 121 dummy tanks had been destroyed by Nato.
The production of dummy tanks has been done in Nis. Usually the delivery was executed in the night. One stupid idiot forgot to repack one dummy tank in front of the building. Nato immediately spoted around 5 am and destroyed the whole building…….
Famous case of NATO bombing a bridge in Kosovo and Metohija 37 times and missing. On the 38th bombing run, the NATO bomb finally hit the mark. It was a decoy !
Anyone who close reads UNSCR 1244 knows who won that war.
2 weeks? The Russians are not going anywhere… they can stay there 2 years if they want , the same reception will await them.
The Azov fighters in Azovstal are literally rotting away. The damp fetid environment will result in severe outbreaks of gangrene. The slightest cuts will end up festering. Their choice.

I would like to draw attention to a significant side effect of the SMO: what will happen to the Ukrainian refugees that burden the border countries (Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland)? Within the indigenous people of these countries the protest voice against their EU aligned governments (with the notable exception of Orbán’s EU sceptic government in Hungary) is becoming stronger and stronger. But when the redrawn map from the Ukraine is becoming factual, it is a big question in what numbers the Ukrainian refugees from the border countries will return into the new constellation. What will happen when this number of returnees willing to go home is very small? This looming prospect of the near future is now already a cause for big unrest in the countries bordering on the Ukraine. In Slovakia the party of former prime minister Fico is gaining momentum. Fico’s shining example is Victor Orbán. He wants to copycat the Russia policy of Orbán. Also in the Czech Republic the present coalition government would badly loose if elections were held today. All this would strenghten the EU sceptics lead by Victor Orbán. So when the new map of the Ukraine is taking shape, the present ‘united’ (agitprop) front of the EU against Russia may swiftly fall apart.
I would not say that Fico would gain any adavantage from the current development. What matters the east Slovakia the situation is dramatically anti russian. These people are brutaly brainwashed. Last week i ve been in these area and noticed a huge willingness among the slovak people to help the ukraine refugees. In cities like Ružomberok, Liptovsky Mikuals and Poprad for example they ve set up several mixed teams with ukraine traditional clothes stopping everybody on the street for a anti russian discussion. They re distributing flyers with pictures of “raped” women and “tortured” children. Unbelivable.
Near the poprad airfield approx 400 ukraine soldiers are being trained on Nato equipment.
Families of these soldiers have been accomodated in hotels around Jasná.
At the border crossing to Ukraine queues formed with trucks full of arms for UAF.
On the social media the number of Slovaks and Czechs who advocating an outspoken pro-Slovak cq. pro-Czech politcs (accompanied by ostentatious flag waving of their own flags – which is normally something that Czechs & Slovaks are not fond of) is dramatically increasing, although there do exist also the phenomena of witchhunts & show trials that remind one of the darkest communist days in the early Fifties. But not many people support the hysteria surrounding the public waving of foreign flags (i.e. the blue-yellow flags) anymore and openly do question for example the plans of the government to build housing for Ukrainian refugees, while young Czechs and Slovaks are 100% inabled to get social housing themselves. These kind of EU policies that crassly discriminate against the indigenous people are one of the main reasons why more and more (especially hardworking youngsters) people feel themselves aleniated by their own governments. The yellow vest movement is present all over Europe.
The status of OSCE is well known. The mid level western operatives are all ‘ex-‘ NATO military or ‘ex-‘ western intelligence tasked with recruiting informers. OSCE’s active cooperation with Ukrop military units b reaking the Minsk protocols has been thoroughly documented.
The India Brahmos test isn’t directly comparable to the Moskva. The ship was decommissioned with no munitions stored on board. The warhead of the Brahmos may have been minimal allowing the damage to be assessed visually rather than immediately blowing the vessel apart with a full warhead.
Great report, again! Many thanks!
They are the greatest obstacle honest Americans face. A powerful off-the-shelf Golem deployed by International Neocons, Christian-Zionists are foot soldiers for the Crime Syndicate Cult now attempting world domination, so far with too much success.
Basis for Christian-Zionism is the Scofield Reference Bible, funded long ago by Jews, which promotes a motley gang of arrogant supremacists as “God’s Chosen” deserving of Palestinian land, and which exonerates every evil done to the Palestinian people.
Russians now defang this Beast. Support them!
@ Nightvision,
I wonder, sometimes, if these Nazis in the ‘catacombs’ have some very nasty bio-weapon, chemical weapon, or something else (nukes?) with them. If there is any chance of this, a officer from the country where it originated is probably also there and they may have probably received orders to use the poison (or whatever it is) against the Russian forces. This would perhaps explain why they are not surrendering. They are waiting that the ‘nice Russians’ try to rescue them so they will act.
The Russian Army, in my view, should NEVER enter the labyrinth, as they may also set TRAPS to detonate the nasty thing even after their deaths by starvation or asphyxiation. Perhaps the best thing to do it to explode the whole thing, keeping people very far away from the site not to get affected by poison or even a nuclear explosion.
I would appreciate an assessment from you about what I wrote above, as I am not an expert on military / geopolitical issues. Is something like this possible/feasible? Thanks.
More proof at how Ukraine should be partitioned. Not only does Ukraine divide by language, who they vote for in elections. But now even which blogger they follow:
Map of regions of Ukraine with Google queries for the two most popular Ukrainian political bloggers – Oleksiy Arestovich and Yuriy Podolyak.
The map was formed on the basis of search queries for the last month, that is, taking into account the special operation.
The notorious “line of the Subtelny” (the division of Ukraine into West and East due to historical, geopolitical and ethno-cultural factors) continues to be reproduced unmistakably even when choosing entertaining political content in conditions of full-scale hostilities.

Some British propaganda and analysis
The British use special filters on photographs to make everything from Russia and China look gloomy. In all photos and videos on Russian channels Mariupol looks stunningly beautiful, even in its totally destroyed state.
Reminder: Some time ago Western video bloggers from China complained that BBC falsified their footage by adding a “gloom” filter to it. BBC corrected the screenshot, but never acknowledged their mistake.
Seen a MSM pic yesterday, a destroyed apartment complex with a pristine children’s play structure sticking out of the ruins….smacks of desperation.

«They propose to replace the white-blue-red stripes with the Soviet red banner with a hammer and sickle. Doubtful that this will work but they are clearly trying to ride the new wave of patriotism.»
It is not even patriotism, or at least russian patriotism, it is internationalist realism: the USSR flag is popular not because it means “Russia”, but because it represents for many people in Crimea and other ex-USSR states a period of peace within a multi-national, multi-ethnic Union, in which people from any Union member could rise to the top (and indeed many russians were upset that much of the Union leadership did not come from the leading member of the Union).
Many lower class people also remember the USSR as giving a lower standard of living to the upper-middle and upper classes, but with more security for everybody, and no oligarchs behaving like the boyars of old, and no or fewer mad tyrants (e.g. Uzbekistan) or creepy fascists (e.g. *. *elensky) or endless civil wars, many of them supported and funded by cynical “prometheists” (e.g. *. Bre*inski).
That the russian people and their allies created a fairly peaceful, if somewhat repressive, state was a great thing, and many people in the ex-USSR now realize that they had a good thing, the “pax sovietica”, and they did not know it. Many people in the same way miss the old Yugoslavia: were all those wars and death worth having a mess of powerless statelets easily dominated by foreign powers like the USA?

“I fell in with a man in his 60s walking with a single crutch. He was wearing an old telnyashka, the traditional striped undershirt of the Russian military, beneath a great coat. The medals hanging from it clattered. He had been a Soviet paratrooper in Afghanistan, he told me, and was proud of it. But he was also a Ukrainian, from Donetsk, and when the war in Donbas started, he helped organize the volunteers from Pidlypne. He had been going to funerals like this one ever since. If this had been a few years ago, he said, the whole city would have turned out. There would have been thousands of mourners, not hundreds. “Now everyone is tired of the war,” he said. Though Ukrainian, he, too, longed for the days of the Soviet Union, he confided. Life was dependable then. The leaders might have been cruel, but they were honest. Now it was a mess. He didn’t know what to expect.”
Tony Benn, “Diaries”, Tuesday 18 April 1967: “In the evening we went to dinner with Kirillin and his wife and daughter, Ola, at their flat, along with the Ambassador, and Gvishiani, Academician Artsemivitsch and Academician Keldersh. […] We sat and talked in a tiny little flat where he and his wife and child live. Kirillin is one of the Vice-Premiers of the Soviet Union and an eminent scientist. We sat in his little library while the meal was being laid and we ate together”

«the AFU who, having most of their heavy weapons/armor destroyed, are mostly now relying on small bandit groups/»
They are only “bandits” if they don’t wear uniforms and don’t carry visible evidence of which organized military they are with. Which is what the mad ruthenian fascist regime has been trying to do by arming civilians, which can only result in many killings of civilians, which they would like of course, to scream “murder!”, as *olodymir *elensky said himself:
https://www.economist.com/europe/volodymyr-zelensky-on-why-ukraine-must-defeat-putin/21808448
«Mr Zelensky divides NATO into five camps. First are those who “don‘t mind a long war because it would mean exhausting Russia, even if this means the demise of Ukraine and comes at the cost of Ukrainian lives”.»
Sometimes I think that having “friends” like that should make the ruthenians like more their russian “enemies”. But they are too blinded by the dream of “Greater Ruthenia” and the fantasy of recreating their long lost empire.
