By Amarynth for the Saker Blog
Recall: We have no idea what the Russian end-point is, except for this part of the SMO, demilitarization and denazification of the two Donbass Republics.
The blogger gpovanman summarizes the last week as follows:
The last few days have seen no real breakthroughs in the Ukrainian conflict, yet with Russia not planning that there would be, this comes as no surprise. There are however enough other matters to give us an idea of what the future may bring. https://gpovanman.wordpress.com/2022/06/13/a-week-in-view/
In the broader environment, just about everyone in the EU and in the US, and in NATO is trying to walk backward with another change of narrative. So, (1), old Kissinger was dusted off again, and he pontificates: “The question will now be how to end that war. At its end a place has to be found for Ukraine and a place has to be found for Russia – if we don’t want Russia to become an outpost of China in Europe.”
(Did I say that China is heating up? And that the warmongers are now taking a new look at China?. It is inconceivable for this western axis of evil and empire of lies, that we can live without a big war because that will lead to faster western implosion. Take a look at the address by General Wei Fenghe, State Councilor; Minister of National Defense, China. He does not mince words and says clearly that China will fight http://10.16.86.131/iiss-shangri-la-dialogue-2022-chinas-vision-for-regional-order/).
(2) Some talking head with the memorable name of Sikorsky, a member of the EU and a previous Polish Defense Minister, is trying to talk up the possibility that the west could supply the Ukraine with nuclear weapons to defeat Russia. But the talk of a glorious victory of the Ukraine is diminishing.
(3) Stoltenberg from NATO supplies us with this comment, but it is all up to the Ukraine he says. (Remember the notes from previous sitreps that the Ukraine is now fast becoming an orphan. To add to that, everyone is sick and tired of Zelenski.)
“Peace is possible,” says Stoltenberg. “The only question is what price are you willing to pay for peace? How much territory, how much independence, how much sovereignty…are you willing to sacrifice for peace?”
The news for these august gentlemen is simple. You have sugar spun cotton candy in your heads. You cannot appease Russia with some territory that they already have, or will take. Its not yours to give. Russia will decide exactly what happens to the Ukraine, how, and when. The Great WalkBack will make no difference to Russia’s decisions here as the core issue is a restructuring of the complete European security structural apparatus, in such a way that Russia is not threatened. The next steps from Russia will give us more insight into how they will accomplish this.
Also take a look at Andrei Martyanov who went on quite a rant detailing yet again exactly the Russian military strength: http://smoothiex12.blogspot.com/2022/06/what-worries-me-really.html
The Russian Foreign office released this card for Russia day yesterday.
It says “we asked them nicely not to expand eastward” next to headware of the Teutonic Knights, Poles, Napoleon and the Germans. And an empty box to fill in with the Current Thing.
Brian Berletic notes from a Guardian article:
“Ukraine fears western support will fade as media loses interest in the war” “Costs and casualties are rising but Kyiv warns that the conflict with Russia is becoming normalised in people’s minds, at home and abroad.” (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jun/12/ukraine-fears-western-support-will-fade-as-media-loses-interest-in-the-war))
Berletic continues: “IF” Ukraine’s conflict was really as important as its engineers and sponsors claim, this wouldn’t be the case. The West only poses as having a moral imperative, propped up with PR stunts. Russia actually has one – and having a moral imperative is one of the KEY prerequisites of winning any conflict.
While the Great WalkBack, which is just another pretext and attempt to change the narrative, is gaining steam, Russian forces are gaining city by city, area by area, deliberately, resolutely, not wavering and now moving faster. The last estimate that I am aware of, is that Lugansk is 95% cleared, whereas in the Donbass Republic there still is some work to do with a 50% of the area still under battle or planned to be under battle.
Yet, we see more and more comments that the front has collapsed, that the Ukrainian forces hang their heads on their chinstraps and that the only reason for the continuance of battle is that most of the Ukrainian forces find it impossible to conceive of the concept of laying down their arms.
This is exactly why the Military Summary Channel is still a very good source because he does not pretend that what is left of the defeated Ukrainian forces, cannot yet fight.
Kadyrov’s forces are being increased if you pay attention to his channel. https://t.me/RKadyrov_95 As the Ukrainian forces get decimated, we know their tactic is to move into schools and other civilian areas and literally use civilians as fire screens. To clear these areas is very fine work for Kadyrov and his men and they excel at it.
The detail as of the end of the 12th day of June:
Enjoy your discussion as we slowly move from this phase of active SMO to the next with not even a hint from Russia as to what it will be.

Biden Admin Quietly Urging Companies To Purchase Russian Fertilizer
MONDAY, JUN 13, 2022 – 10:25 AM
Well this is awkward…
The Biden administration has been quietly urging agricultural and shipping companies to buy and carry more Russian fertilizer, according to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the efforts.
Seeing as the USA is still buying Russian oil, this latest “revelation” suggests the Imperial attitude towards all the Europeans is “Sanctions for thee, but not for me”.
Clearly shown how much “concern” the US has for European energy independence (or rather they’ve already decided that Europe will be a nice little earner for all that “spare” US Natural Gas.)
No, it’s because the American people are getting close to wanting to hang Biden and every single Democrat. Unlike Europe, where the public appears to have an extraordinary willingness to absorb inconvenience for Ukraine, the U.S. public is sick to the back teeth.
And every single Republican.
Three people were killed, including a woman and a child. Another 13 were injured.
The shelling of the Oryai was carried out by foreign artillery with a caliber of 155 mm.
Why that? Killing civilists with Western weapons seems to be ok? No action against these killers since months?? it’s worse than it was in the last 8 years 🤮
Evildoers will be stopped …..they are spending theirs ” last ammunition” on innocents people…in the USA – witch hunt on people who dare protested on 01/06/2021 regard stolen 11/03/2020…in Donbas killing civilians…..pray to Saint Michael Archangel…
Magic Fighter, why are you asking us (Saker community) these questions?
Do you think that we are not aware of these atrocities? Or that we don’t care?
Or maybe you think that RF+ Donbass don’t care, and just let it happen?
Saker has given a good description of the 6th column Russia bashers, and how detrimental they are for Russia, and thus for the whole world.
We are also very aware of what is called “concern trolls”.
I ask here because I do not understand that any more?
why are they not attacking these Nazis in the Ares of Donezk directly??
Russia should have enough weapons to defeat them without any problems??
“why are they not attacking these Nazis in the Ares of Donezk directly?? ”
Because the Russians are not stupid. 8 years of bunker building will take a LOT of artillery and missiles to undo but the good news is Russia has it. The Russians will probably collapse the areas around it and catch another pile of Ukrainians in yet another cauldron.
What is with Nazis and always wanting to celebrate the glory of the third Reich be re-enacting Stalingrad? Just saying that France thing seemed to go a whole lot better.
It’s not world war two. They’ve got all the time in the world to root these bad teeth out of the head of Europe. This is the face of US and NATO training, a bunch of homos covered with horror tattoos hiding out in old folks homes, behind the women, killing civilians. 250 years of American can-do spirit and this is as good as it gets. Why doesn’t the US just STFU and go home would be more to the point.
The Fort Benning based School Of Americas tactics. Murder, massacre, rape, and terrorise civilians.
I was never taught that and would have never supported that. Men I served with would have shot someone giving orders like that.
Its not the same military I served in and its not the same country I grew up in. Dont lump all of us together.
But the people of Donbass do not have “all the time in the world”. They are being killed off and terrorized. There won’t be any population left there if this keeps up for more than a few years.
One idea is that they are matching munition production to front line action. This means they have all the time in the world with no fear of shortages.
I also think it is a valid question why RF-Allies aren’t prioritizing territorial advance against the UA to prevent their artillery & rockets from being fired from positions that can reach Donetsk. This was ostensibly the #1 reason for the SMO. The question is not necessarily directed toward the Saker community, nor is it fair to smear the questioner as a “6th column Russia basher” or “concern troll” but rather to acknowledge that something is not right with Russia’s military command in that they have allowed these attacks to continue.
Response to MagicFighter and Norecovery,
The answers to your questions were posted multiple times by multiple posters on this very same blog!
Every time there’s a new Sitrep, multiple …. posters, usually new ones …. jump in early and ask the same damned questions time and time again. So, you both appear as Concern Trolls because you have done the discourtesy of wasting our time, again.
Read the previous sitreps and commends, educate yourselves, practice critical thinking skills
Yeah very well said Jack.
We live with people now that expect to be spoonfed information, instantly and in 20 second sound bytes.
Many can’t think critically anymore and neither can they be bothered to do their own research, assuming they are capable to do so.
And these people are difficult to differentiate from ‘concern trolls’.
Both types are time wasters as you correctly stated.
You should stop the name-calling and just deal with the legitimate issue. I have been reading the sitreps as much as I can, but the supposed “answers” are not apparent. Note the top story now on RT — https://www.rt.com/russia/557107-donetsk-shelling-troops-request/
“The Donetsk Peoples’ Republic (DPR) is requesting additional “allied forces” to help in its fight against Ukrainian forces, its head, Denis Pushilin, outlined on Monday in a video address.”
I doubt he would publicly be requesting more help had the Russian Military’s effort thus far been adequately prioritized to protect the civilians in that region. They must do better.
This site, is somewhat Pro Russia! The general perception here seems to be that the world is infested with weak and corrosive ideas at best, lies sold as truth being perhaps a more accurate description.
The Russians see themselves as currently fighting a pervasive “new world order” which appears to weild almost magical thrall over anyone who subscribes to western media.
The Russians as far as I can determine generally, (and I am lapsing into what is taboo thinking here, called “Racism” by many) consider themselves to be a practical and “based” people, who support Largely Christian morality and values, who are currently being assaulted culturally on all sides, marginalised in terms of trade (being seen as a “gas station” by the west) and being constantly encircled militarily, the very real effect being to reduce Russia’s warning time in a nuclear attack scenario.
All these legitimate concerns we in the west have been ignoring, whilst fomenting change and some strange sorts of uniformed types, very reminiscent of ww2 Nazi’s, in Ukraine.
Sites such as this, have slightly different rules which due to the information warfare environment in which this subject is totally immersed have to be enforced as clearly as possible. To people like me sitting at my table here in England, the site management comes across as very annoyed at the west and it’s psychological warfare battalions etc infesting it’s comments section, with sophistry like “Concern trolls” (I had to look them up).
I agree the name calling seems a bit “intolerant” but OTOH isn’t it the misuse of tolerance that has got us this particular form of society that we are enjoying in the west? Thankfully I’m not actually gay, (Until recently I’ve had a lot of difficulty managing cheerful) but I am afflicted with a psychological profile that is fairly sub-optimal, (I.E. if everyone was like me we’d probably get nothing done) and I’d have ask, why SHOULD the productive majority be forced to bend to my wishes? Why should my sub optimal way of being be especially celebrated, whilst any mention of he who created us and formed our very essence is supressed?
In short, why should we westerners hold these people here, moderating their own forum to our standards of “politeness”?
I don’t consider it a weakness, to be trying to understand “the other team” well enough to function here without getting into any arguments. We aren’t really as welcome here as we would like to imagine and I am quite sure that generally the Russian people I have met in person have not exuded a sense of comradely friendship either. Why is this? – Is a question I’ve been asking myself for some years now.
A clue is to be found in their dislike of our English habit of “whimsy” or as the Russians apparently see it, “trying to inject humour into serious conversation inappropriately”. I think they see it as essentially a subtle form of dishonesty, and not “keeping it real”.
IT seems to me that a few years ago the Russians were led by maniacs in costumes trying to impose their ideology on a world that was just trying to recover from WW2, but now the russians are now seemingly the good guys fighting psychopaths in expensive suits trying to make our world their playthings, our bodies their patented property. Where they limit our numbers and mould the world culture in an image that any right minded Christian would find essentially abhorrent.
I’m not surprised the mods here are a bit trigger happy towards us westerners. I just wish I’d get a notification when they bin one of my posts for breaking the rules… Just so I know I need to do the follow up work of figuring out where I went wrong. But equally it isn’t their job really to educate the ignorant, they’ve got enough on, just running the site.
Well that’s how it appears to me, for whatever it’s worth…
“Russians were led by maniacs in costumes […] now the russians are now seemingly the good guys fighting psychopaths in expensive suits”
Are you saying that Jews, or at least zionists, led the “Russian” revolution that resulted in the USSR? And that now Russia has broken free from their control, people like Blinken, Kagan, Nuland, and Zelensky are causing trouble?
I don’t recollect that I was giving any thought to the Jews whatsoever, when I wrote that.
I am giving testimony to the difficulty I am facing trying to establish the truth behind current events, and in trying dispel enough of my own predjudice and ignorance to function here as a productive member..
I’m tempted to resort to bad language, (but it’s frowned on here I believe) when I consider how keen everyone is on discussing and prolonging the carnage, and how little clamour there has been for the killing and destruction to stop.
In school yard terms, (I like simple ideas, they reach the most people.) it’s like the little twerp egged on by some other kids has been trying the patience of the big quiet kid, who has decided to sort he matter out physically after trying all other avenues. Instead of taking the first blow and suing for peace, with profuse apologies, the twerp has decided to “Fight for his honour”.
No one is going to come out of this looking like the good guy, but how far should the big guy go when chastsising his puny opponent? and what is he to make of his erstwhile “partners” feeding weapons and instructing the twerp in matters of combat?
Adding ethnicity based blame to the equation, does not seem to produce a satisfactory answer where everyday people stop being killed or forcibly relocated into poverty and suffering, by specially selected, green clad “heroes” or “orcs”, “Liberators” or “invaders”. the bloody labels and blame games keep being bandied about whilst, Ivan the not so terrible’s cousin from Donetsk, finds himself instead of going to work on monday, carrying his cat basket and luggage down a dirty street…
G’day Steve C,
You say:
‘No one is going to come out of this looking like the good guy, but how far should the big guy go when chastsising his puny opponent?’
Arguably Russia is not merely chastising Ukrainians. Nor are they a puny opponent. Russia is cleansing the last major nest of the Khazarian Mafia on this planet while its global Allies are quietly removing their minions all over our world. Preventing the bombardment of Donetsk was only one of several vital tasks undertaken by the SMO. Other necessary tasks include: Removing bio-warfare labs; removing dirty nuke bomb materials at Chernobyl and Zaporozhye; freeing thousands of children (and adult) survivors in Ukrainian sex trafficking and adrenochrome producing facilities; freeing the Russian populations of Mariupol and the Donbas (and the rest of the Ukraine) from fascist oppression, torture and death; and eliminating Kiev’s Khazarian Maffia money laundering capacity.
Moreover, Russia is in the process of demilitarising and ‘deNazifying’ NATO and the EU as well as actively assisting Trump, Xi and the Global Alliance to eliminate the Petro-dollar and the neo-Pharisees’ usurious Central banking system. ALL of these tasks have to be completed in order to liberate our entire world from the tyrannous dystopia under which we have been living for decades and in some places, for centuries.
Upsetting as it is, the prevention of the bombing of civilians in Donetsk is only one of many vital jobs Russia is performing.
RT phhttt. Now you introduce compromised websites to back up your ‘concerns’.
I can’t feed you as I threw my spoons out. Knives and forks for adults. Sorry.
The West-NATO knows that these French-made CAESAR 8×8 155mm self-propelled howitzers will be used to bomb residential areas and kill civilians in eastern Ukraine.
The Nazis know that the few Russian troops in Donetsk are just there to secure the city. They are doing it because they want to do genocide. With the support of the West-NATO.
To Daniel
They have been taught a new tactic by their handles and curators – shoot and scoot. Makes them difficult to pin point for return strike. These howitzers supplied to them by the West, few of which they have managed to slip thru, are a lot more mobile it seems. They are now using that fleeting advantage to kill more Donbass civilians.
It is something that knows it’s going to die and desperately tries to inflict as much destruction as it can before it’s finished off for good. I have no pity for the numbers of ukies killed so far – they have chosen this path and the price to pay for their atrocities will be excruciating.
“They have been taught a new tactic by their handles and curators – shoot and scoot.”
This is what the Bosnian Muslim forces were doing in Sarajevo. UN officers even testified/admitted as such. They would ride around in trucks – including civilian trucks and shoot from them at the Serbs and around the city, and media would automatically blame Serbs. Yet the UN officers went on about the great mobility of the Bosnian Muslim forces and that they (the UN) could even learn from them.
Lets not blame those that are attempting to stop these evil murderers. It is Ukraine forces that are killing civilians and it is Russia that is doing more than any country on the planet to prevent them.
“While the Great WalkBack, which is just another pretext and attempt to change the narrative, is gaining steam, Russian forces are gaining city by city, area by area, deliberately, resolutely, not wavering and now moving faster. The last estimate that I am aware of, is that Lugansk is 95% cleared, whereas in the Donbass Republic there still is some work to do with a 50% of the area still under battle or planned to be under battle.
Yet, we see more and more comments that the front has collapsed, that the Ukrainian forces hang their heads on their chinstraps and that the only reason for the continuance of battle is that most of the Ukrainian forces find it impossible to conceive of the concept of laying down their arms.”
Honestly I cannot really see where the significant gains. I keep hearing about morale collapse and Ukrainians getting decimated, however at this stage it does not translate into massive territorial gains. 95% of LPR was liberated already two months ago, and DPR has barely budged. No signs of significants advances down south, at Avdiivka or Gulyai Pole.
This does not mean it will not happen as indeed they may be close to snapping. An important point nonetheless : from what I can vaguely understand, the strength of the Ukrainians lies in their artillery, which still functions quite well, and in their ability at sabotage and attacking supply lines. Unless they really are short on ammo, I’m guessing the Russians will continue advancing slowly to avoid ambushes or running into fire bags.
So as to the great Donbass campain : I’ll believe it when it’s done.
Russia will take Kiev too, in time. Kiev is a Hero city, so cannot be left to the US/NATO neo-Nazis.
Summer is now on in Europe, winter is just across the corner. Heating season starts in about 4-5 months. There’s a massive lack of coal in Poland, a coal producing country, by the way. Germany is dodging supplying armament to Ukraine. France will have a hung parliament. The rest of the NATO is small fish, but they too need to heat their homes.
There is a lack of fertilizers in Europe, if any left they are pretty expensive. So, a food shortage, or very expensive food is imminent. In all the liberated areas in the former Ukraine, fuel will be cheaper than in any unfriendly country. Harvest will be good too.
There’s going to be lot of unhappiness in the unfriendly countries. There’s also going to be increasing anger toward to refugees from the former Ukraine. This anger is slowly seen in many cities the unfriendly countries in Europe.
Russia is not in a hurry. Why should it? It is self-sufficient and has very loyal citizens. Defeating the US/UK makes them happy. They are fighting a war against the Nazis, just like their granddads did.
Agree, Kiev was once the Russian capital. It needs to be taken… as does the territory far beyond Kiev, further to the west.
agree. russia needn’t hurry. it’s in mother’s interest to basically prolong her stay, until the nazis are gone & she has delivered & created a world more to her liking perhaps inviting her new improved neighbour into the sco. where the empire of lies wanted mother to be bogged down, the elites couldn’t see this wouldn’t bankrupt mother bt rather work to her advantage & long term prosperity. china & mother & other members of the axis of resistance can happily enfold the rich fertile land, the gas & oil & above all the location…location location.
To ostro
You know, I couldn’t have put it better. But we will add to that the anger towards their political establishments. One can “blame Russia” for your own f*ck-ups ONLY so far and then you will have to face the music..
From Jacob Dreizen … “ Mood turns apocalyptic: Ukr #1 official propagandist Arestovich says may be no stopping Russia from taking over Ukr; multiple Ukr officials finally disclose daily military death tolls of 100+; MSM narrative does 180 from “Russia bogged down” to “Ukr outgunned, desperate, etc.”; much too late to offer Russia only Crimea/Donbass—Kherson, south Zaporozhia already being slowly but surely incorporated into Russia; Germany puts brakes on Greek, Spanish reexport of German hardware to Ukr, says its own gifts may arrive only in October—stream of NATO heavy weapons to Ukr is DRYING UP.”
“whereas in the Donbass Republic there still is some work to do with a 50% of the area still under battle or planned to be under battle.”
Wow. I’m surprised. Is there a map showing this? I watch Military Summary and try to get info elsewhere, but the ‘big picture’ eludes me completely and I was completely unaware of this. It strikes me as somewhat astounding.
Every attack on well entrenched forces is slow in the first phase. Which lasts more than 95% of the time of operation. Ukrainians built multiple rings of defense during 8 years. When outer ring falls, the process starts from 0% on the next one. Ukrainians still have majority of their forces in the western cities and ability to move parts of it to the eastern frontline as reinforcements. It might seem as Russian mistake to alowe that, but in the big picture, it is not.
By encircling eastern fortifications of Ukies, Russia would take out tens of thousands of Ukies. Leaving hundreds of thousands fresh troops for defending the cities. Every reinforcement Ukraine send to the east, weakens the West. By minimising its own losses, and inflicting huge ones on enemy, Russia is emptying big towns of defenders. In the same time, population of big towns is forced by Ukraine goverment to send its own youth to the meatgrinder. This situation can’t last forever. It is slow process but it WILL end in revolt, saving many lives on the both sides. The difference is in the hundreds of thousands, even millions.
The War isn’t action movie, it is boring as Hell.
I think what you are seeing is deliberate Russian military doctrine:
The Great Commanders – 106 – Georgy Zhukov
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RNmz8ARKc8&t=1265s
If they are following Zhukov, it pretty much explains everything we have seen:
1] Pull back from Kiev and fight the Ukrainians in the open fields of Donetsk.
2] Pull back from Kharkov, have the Ukrainians follow you out and fight them in the open fields outside the city.
3] Let the Western arms come in and have them deploy in the open fields and in penny packet offensives.
According to Zhukov, when you have the enemy in your sites and out in the open, let Russian artillery do the job. The cities and territories can be taken later when the enemy is significantly weaker.
Under that rubric, the last place the Russians want to fight or see Western weapons flow is into the cities. And when the time comes to deal with the cities, the Russians will give the defenders a choice, surrender or end up like Mariupol. I think Mariupol was taken as an “example” of what the Russians won’t hesitate to do if the defenders give them other choice.
BTW: This isn’t far from what Andrei Martyanov has been saying. For the Russians it is all mathematical, about unit strength and attrition, etc.
I don’t see how Russia lets Nazis have existence in U in the end, whether it’s left as just the Western part, or a rump state after historically claimed territory taken by neighbors. Nor how to get them all to go away.
I think too, Russia doesn’t quit until the NATO bordering nations banish NATO bases, or at least missiles, from their land.
Russia might let Belarus and Hungary take parts of the Ukraine, but won’t allow Poland or Romania to take any, especially won’t allow Poland.
“denazification” does not mean “get them all to go away”.
Right, it’s more like education. Show them where they went wrong:
Trust the USAmericans.
We are superior.
Kill the “Russians” (actually Ukrans who wanted to be friendly with Russia).
Get stomped, dead, wounded; women and children scattered to all countries west.
Ukraine gone.
If the regular Ukrans can convince the “nazis” that another way is better:
Each nation gets security, but not at the expense of the security of another.
Peace is better than war. You can always do sports for excitement.
All that other boring stuff.
But the “Ukraine” will have to be just that bit west of Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia, minus something to keep the neighbours happy.
Military Summary argues convincingly that, although Russia could easily put more soldiers into Ukraine, that would not be advantageous. The roads and railways cannot take very high loads, and Russia already has a well-trained and well-equipped army in eastern Ukraine. Moreover, contrary to what many instinctively assumed, Russia is in no hurry.
On the other hand, I could easily imagine a fresh Russian army of another 100,000 – or perhaps just 50,000 – slipping in easily down the line of the Dnieper, say, to capture Dnepropetrovsk and the whole area around there. Then the semi-open cauldrons in Donbass would be academic, as there could be no flow of supplies or reinforcements from the West.
Still, the Russians have a good sense of balance and no doubt they know exactly what they are doing.
It also occurs to me that they may be deliberately drawing out the war as long as possible, squeezing the Ukrainians to encourage them to squawk for help – and thusinducing NATO to send more and more of its own weapons and ammunition into the bottomless pit of destruction. The longer it goes on, the weaker NATO will become.
Yet another angle: as stocks dwindle and the Ukrainian appeals become ever more agonised, NATO is tempted to send ever more modern and top-end weapons and equipment. Which the Russians then capture and study. Russian weapons are less likely to be captured, as they are generally advancing.
“The longer it goes on, the weaker NATO will become.”
Agreed, and the USD, US political situation will deteriorate, and EU will increasingly fracture. There is no reason to speed up for the Russians.
Russian strategy could as well have been: take a couple of Ukrainian town and see the reaction in West
We are still in the summer. The fun and games start around August when NATO/Europe panic about energy for the winter. Gonzalo said when October comes it will be total panic.
The NATO militaries also probably cannot get any titanium from Russia aong with high end manufacturers in Europe.
On the other hand, I could easily imagine a fresh Russian army of another 100,000 – or perhaps just 50,000 – slipping in easily down the line of the Dnieper, say, to capture Dnepropetrovsk and the whole area around there.
Something we tend to forget, is the size of the place. The Ukraine is about the size of Texas, or France. More like France, in that most of it is productive and populated. And the purpose of this military operation is not conquest and subjugation, but it is to take the Ukraine intact, to return it to its pre-2013 state or better. Better, really, because it was obviously vulnerable in 2013. It will take some time to counteract 8 years of occupation.
Because I live in Texas, I sort-of have a feel for how big it is, and how remarkably fast the Russian operation is progressing. Driving at 100Kph on a smooth dry road, it is a very long day’s drive from El Paso to Houston. And military operations do not move at 100Kph.
Bottom line, I don’t expect to hear about Dniepropetrovsk or Kiev until late summer or fall, at the very soonest. Best case would be for the Nazis to throw in the towel now and abscond en masse to Poland…
@Amerikanski: “It will take some time to counteract 8 years of occupation.”
Plus decades of misery going back to 1990, with the collapse of the Soviet Union and the rise of the Jewish Oligarchs: “the years that the locusts have eaten”; when life expectancy in Russia was shortened by 5 years, the Mail-Order Bride business prospered, and “a Natasha” was Turkish slang for a prostitute. See Wikipedia: Ukrainian Oligarch.
The “8 years of occupation” by NATZO’s “cookie coup” regime merely crowned the previous quarter-century of Oligarchic corruption in Ukraine by openly installing a succession of Jewish-only presidents of Ukraine at the head of an openly Nazi brigade in the army — the Azov brigade, openly financed by Jewish Oligarch Kolomoisky, who also finances the Jewish comedian President of Ukraine who openly plays the piano with his dick.
Dr NG Maroudas
Well, your post made me have a laugh. Kind of a sad laugh, because it’s so true. As I said before there are no explanations for human stupididy. Zhids have taken over practically EVERYTHING in the West and the masses are still listening and believing their abominable lies and going along with their pervertions. What would it take?!
“I’ve been driving for 24 hours, and I’m still in Texas”
Sorry – I can’t resist. You reminded me of the story about the Texan in an Irish bar who gets talking to a local fellow. He explains how everything in Texas is the biggest and the best, and boasts that, “It takes me 8 hours to drive across my ranch”.
“Oh yes,” smiles the Irishman, “I once had a car like that!”
About thst last part, i think your wrong.
The west is DUMPING weapons into Ukraine. Remember that fantastic anti aircraft thing eith the 3 war heads?
It was going to change it all.
Now as we see this is mostly shit, their sending its clear to me that stock will be kept adequate by buying more NEW weapons.
Do it serves a plentytude of goals:
– Whipe out Ukrainians
– Control by debt
– Modernize weapons stock
– Lure Sweden and Finland into a death trap
And of course, enrich the financial elite in all ways possible, as usual.
The US warmachine needs food.
Who is next served on a plate?
One possible reason why the front line didn’t move much for quite some time:
on the front were the battles are everything gets destroyed. So now there is one line of destruction were all the shells and bombs hit. If the Russians push the Ukrainians to a new front line the battles will destroy another territory. If the Russians go slow or even seem weak all Ukrainian resources get moved and destroyed at the already devastated area and other regions are spared until Ukraine gives up or at least has no resources left to fight.
It is also in the Russian interest to operate as long as possible in the area were they have the support of the inhabitants. If they move the front too fast, they have much more fighting in hostile environments were civilians are more likely to exfiltrate positions, report (false?) war crimes or help sabotage groups.
“The longer it goes on, the weaker NATO will become.”
Very true, but perhaps more important, the longer it goes on, the closer Russia’s best wartime ally gets – Old Man Winter. When there’s no oil or gas in western Europe in November, and despite global warming, we have a very cold winter in 2022, Russia will show again why winter works for her.
Nice to once again read a report from you.
Further to gpovanman’s remarks about nato-supplied anti-tank missiles : In the past 8 years, when the nazis received shipments of MPRs/RPGs, they deployed them against civilian residential structures.
Just as they now deploy whatever artillery they have against civilian public spaces.
Naturally. They like killing people, and civilians are easier to kill than soldiers. Especially Russian soldiers.
I couldn’t see the reasons behind the RF SMO at first but now I seem to understand. Limit as many casualties to human life as possible. Hopefully the UAF will surrender en masse and the UKR government collapses.
it seems to me that nobody is asking what was the West/Ukraine plan. they thought that they could lure Russia into a proxy war on territory held by LDNR. this would leave the whole of Ukraine free to mount air and military superiority as it rolled over LDNR and then Crimea. They couldn’t imagine that Russia would attack Ukraine itself. They were totally blindsided and have no answer.
A russian acquaintance gave me the answer to the question ‘how will it end?’ -when Patriarch Kirill reconsecrates the Hagia Sofia.
The US and its NATO proxy are driven by the military industrial complex, which also controls the intelligence services, which in turn control the media.
So far things are going very well for the MIC. The consumption rate of military gear is astronomical, old gear (that must be replaced) is being dumped, and military budgets across Europe are soaring (and will largely be spent on US weapons). As to the political fallout, well, that falls on the politicians the MIC owns. If they get ejected the MIC will just buy more.
The $40 billion in aid to Ukraine is a loan (lend lease) that Ukraine must pay back (LOL). 90% of it went to US arms manufacturers, the Pentagon, and NATO countries to buy US weapons.
Aside from Russia changing the world order, things are going quite well for the MIC. It is clear that their plan is to prolong and extend this war, even by expansion into Europe, to continue generating profits. Also the ramping up of provocations in with China and the talk of an eastern NATO.

How will they replace weapons when critical basic materials are supplied largely & even wholly, by Russia, China & their allies? And
the supply chain is fractured?
It doesn’t matter. They take the money now for future delivery. A number of countries are still waiting for arms ordered years ago.
Your last sentence had me reeling for joy. What a thought!
If things do turn out well for Russia, who they will blame for the failure will be determined by the usual method when blame assignment is important; it will be by trial balloons floated in the press. The one that gets the best response from the public will be the one they will go with.
Give me a break that the Russians want more and more weapons poured into the Ukraine. The most successful war is the one that you don’t have to fight. It is not like being in an athletic contest and being declared the winner. In war the winner is the side that is less damaged. There are only degrees of losing.
Stick around, John. We’ll see.

I should have added this to the short sitrep – part of the Great WalkBack.
Finland president Sauli Niinisto: We will not join NATO without Sweden. First indication they might be having second thoughts about NATO membership.
It may have penetrated their minds, that NATO might not be a thing for much longer and neutrality has worked well for them, so far.
Quote: Finland president Sauli Niinisto: We will not join NATO without Sweden.
That’s super interesting . . . . I look forward to the day when the Baltic States decide to make a a new start; no longer to remain captive (captivated?) by historic grievance.
Yes, I remember back during one of the winter olympics. For such a tiny population, the Finns field an enormous hockey team. The Finnish ambassador was asked, what does their fan cheer mean. She shouted it out loud. The interviewer shrank back, pressed his chair away. Then she said something like, “Chop them up into little pieces!”. As the interviewer recovered his chair, she retracted, “We don’t really mean that, anymore. It’s an old battle-cry.”
My experience with Finnish immigrants … so few, that every one of them was called “Finn”, with no fear of ambiguity (ie there was never more than one Finn in my neighbourhood) … is that they can react quickly, heedlessly, with verbal violence. But, they are also smart, very smart; they realize, and backdown quickly. Often before people gather defenses.
So, yes. There is Vyborg. There is Russia purchased Finnland from Sweden. Then, later, condescended to grant them, most of them, freedom. There is Karelia.
There is hate-Russia. There is an undefended border. There is trust-Russia. There is ‘Nightwish’ … “You would be surprised how hard it is to write a song in Finnish.”. There is a video ‘Leningrad Cowboys’. There is a film about a Saami woman who in 1945 feeds and protects a Finnish deserter and a Russian deserter; and births “twins” … one from each.
So… yes, I am a great admirer of the Finns. Who call themselves, Suomi! Who react too quickly from past resentments, and present thoughtlessnesses. Who recover quickly realistically. Who have their share of historical and diplomatic ignorance, and heedless wokeness, and fake-N GOs. But I hope, enough sense to step back from the nato abyss.
I expect them to have second thoughts.
My first girlfriend was Finnish. Total erotic/emotic….i met many Finns later in business circles. All showed the typical character of being extremely stubborn. Their good education system makes them arrogant and have a strong sense of self-belief…so much so, that when they work in telecoms, they boast of their prowess but dont deliver any of the expected quality….so much so that telecom dealers informed me that it was extremely frustrating for them to carry Finnish made articles and they would much prefer not to do so… The public clamoured for the Finnish products mainly due to the advertising but when the goods were finally delivered after long delays, they were faulty on arrival and all the European dealers i visited, experienced major losses as they had no support from the Finns…
They all too easily get into fights and most carry hunting knives for the purpose…
They are superb rally drivers… not surprising with the vast space they have, to practice these skills…
They hold business meetings in Saunas, which can be fun when there is female company…;oD
Russia should not trust the Finns…best to keep a very close watch…
“They hold business meetings in Saunas, which can be fun when there is female company…”
An English friend of mine had a Finnish friend. He went to Finland and visited his friend at his home where the Finn resided with his wife and 16 year old daughter.
After dinner he was invited to join them in their sauna.
So in he went.
And then the Finns stripped naked.
He said he had a very hard time trying to not look at the beautiful teenager and the mother.
And of course he was embarrassed by what the cold had done to his wedding tackle LOL
Yep, very strange behaviour.
@Original Analyst
Only a fool would say that Finland’s education system is good. It’s all liberal propaganda. If what you say is true, Finland must be one if the top developed countries. It’s not
@amarymth
Yes, that is a possibility, but Finland will “never” regain Russian trust! Both Finland and Sweden have shown their true characters, and there is no way president Putin may entertain with them the special relation he had before, even if “pragmatism” may prevail at the end of the day.
There is a subtle reason that many have missed: in Finland it was a Finnish-American called Alexander Stubbs who was the Trojan Horse / bad apple in the barrel, assisting US infiltration…and in Sweden it has been Carl Bildt who has done the most damage in Sweden, in geopolitical terms.
So the Russians were always aware of the influence of these two “americanised-scandinavians”
When Olof Palme was running the show in Sweden, there was a cordial relationship with Russia. Today if i mention Olof Palme in positive terms to Swedish colleagues, they look at me as if i am hallucinating…
@OA: “Today if i mention Olof Palme in positive terms to Swedish colleagues, they look at me as if i am hallucinating…”
A reminder: Palme was gunned down outside his home in broad daylight. I remember a Swedish policeman saying to the BBC, “We shall find the assassin, this is Western Europe”. Swedish police under Carl Bildt never found the assassin; now they are among the suspects.
This is Western Europe.
Typical welfare-socialist group-thinking “we will only do it if the others do it, if the other vassals dont do it we wont do it either”.
They dont have the guts to stand on thier own feet.
Here is what I would have done:
We must maintain our neutral position. If you have any problem with that, you force us to go with Satan II and Dongfeng 41.
Nah! Typical naive innocents seduced by american “full court press”.
Find out what the target secretly craves or needs, then supply it. Nothing so crude as wads of cash. Maybe small personnal services. Maybe an ego-boost at a critical time. Perhaps a casual acquaintance with flattery chattery, straighten a tie, a surprise bon mot for an important speech, a last-minute babysitter.
And always casual advice. Especially about how devious the other guy is, and how to hide an important surprise announcement, until he cannot prevent it.
Study recent leaders of Finnland, Germany, France, nato. See how it is done.
They all do “have the guts to stand on thier own feet”. Maybe with a little help from their friends; but on thier own feet.
It’s a joke to listen the Stoltenberg’s latest comments that a renowned terrorist organization such ss NATO is not interested in spreading the conflict. So encouraging Sweden and Russia’s direct neighbor in Finland to join the alliance is not an aggressive measure in their usual ignorant and dismissive style.
“Peace in Ukraine is possible. The question is what will be its price. How much territory, freedom and democracy we are willing to pay for this world. NATO intends to help Ukraine to give it the strongest position at the negotiating table with Russia, which should end the hostilities.”
Stoltenberg added that the NATO military does not participate in hostilities, and the Alliance itself opposes the spread of the conflict outside the country.
Russia should extend the SMO until the capture Stoltenberg, Von der Leyen, and Borrell and change both the EU’s and NATO’s extremely poor attitude.
– Stoltenberg added that the NATO military does not participate in hostilities,
He is a known liar.
For reason not directly related to Ukraine, Wall Street is collapsing today.
The crash is also hitting those with BTC account. Imagine 10,000 suicides
“not an aggressive measure”
Oh no, we’re not threatening anyone. We just want to point all these missiles at Russia just in case. It’s purely defense. They’re not nuclear or anything … most of them.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to perform admirably.
Bear in mind; the operational objective is, IMO, not the occupation of territory. Rather, it is to force the capitulation of the Ukrainian military.
Once that point is reached territory will be occupied rapidly.
Minimizing Russian casualties and preventing, as much as possible, harm to civilians is a vital priority. Thus the Ukrainian military must be broken in place.
Concerning reports of Russia bringing T-62 MBT’s out of storage due to equipment losses. I have seen no credible evidence of this. First, Russia isn’t losing that much equipment. Second, I don’t think Russia is making particularly heavy use of Main Battle Tanks (MBT) at this point in the operation.
Finally, even if Russia is bringing out some T-62’s; what of it? Slap some Reactive Armor packs on them and the T-62 is a perfectly viable weapon for the operation currently underway. Save the T-90’s for NATO.
For the same reason you can drive a ten year old car, there is no need to have the latest weapons systems. The usual thing is to put the best stuff where there is the greatest need. Usually the older stuff will go in the areas that are the least likely to be active. Given the very long front line in the Ukraine, there is an obvious benefit to having a lot of hardware in the fight.
The objectives were clearly stated in the draft treaties Russia presented to the US and NATO last year. Ukraine is just the first skirmish in the war against the west.
⚡️ From the very beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, military experts undertook to analyze the tactics and further strategy of the RF Armed Forces. The guesses turned out to be wrong due to the dynamic development of events and the fact that our army tried different models of warfare. Today it is already possible to conduct an intermediate analysis of the situation that is developing within the framework of the NWO. In my estimation, everything is going as it should.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have completely switched to the tactics of mobile assault groups and complex fire engagement, shifting the focus from high speed of advance to minimizing losses while maintaining damage to the enemy.
Now an approximate algorithm of actions looks like this: Ukrainian positions are opened by UAVs and reconnaissance groups, then artillery and aircraft hit at the identified objects, after critical damage to the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assault groups consisting of several tanks, other armored vehicles and infantry platoons are advanced in the direction of key objects. Point support is provided by artillery forces and mortars. If Ukraine tries to counterattack, or the offensive of our troops is slowed down, and the enemy’s points are again “polished” by artillery and fighters. Such tactics are systematically squeezing the Armed Forces of Ukraine out of cities, villages and fortified areas.
❗️In general, the Russian troops adopted a strategy to deplete the enemy’s resources. After the final retirement of the combat-ready backbone of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the deprivation of the Ukrainian troops of the minimum number of heavy weapons, repair and fuel and lubricant resources, things will go faster.
At the moment, the actions of Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have been almost completely neutralized. First of all, due to the counter-ambush actions of our special forces. In addition, extensive work is being carried out in the rear of the RF Armed Forces to identify and capture / destroy Ukrainian DRGs. Additionally, there is a checkpoint system.
As for the losses of Ukraine as a whole. With a change in tactics, the effectiveness of the liquidation of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine increased. On average, it is 300-500 people per day. The total amount of Ukrainian combat losses today is, in my opinion, up to 100,000 people. Of these, approximately 25-30 thousand were killed and up to 70 thousand were wounded and surrendered. To these 100 thousand one can add several tens of thousands more deserters.
Russian long-range aviation and the Navy continue to regularly strike with long-range cruise missiles at enemy military targets, including deep in the rear. The calculation of Kyiv and the Western side that the Russian Armed Forces would run out of missiles did not materialize – our military industry provides a sufficient rate of production of these products.
Speaking of aviation, our Air Force has now achieved operational air supremacy. It eliminates the possibility for any effective actions of Ukrainian aviation over the territories controlled by the Russian Federation, and also allows Russian pilots to operate effectively. At the same time, pockets of Ukrainian air defense remain, creating a high danger for our aircraft. The air defense system of the Ukraine was created according to Soviet principles, with deep separation, extensive use of maneuver and camouflage, and the use of anti-aircraft ambush tactics. In the history of wars, such a powerful and diverse air defense system operates for the first time.
With regards to the supply of Western weapons. They turned out to be a tangible help for the Ukrainian troops, but not enough. There are few foreign weapons, ensuring their operation suffers due to the extremely short training period for Ukrainian combat crews. There is an ammunition shortage. In addition, a number of European countries are sabotaging supplies initiated by the United States, which leads to a low density of heavy equipment per kilometer of front and does not have a significant impact on hostilities.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation use the theater of operations within the framework of the NMD to develop the latest weapons. At a minimum, the use of BMPTs, the Tornado-G and Tornado-S MLRS systems, and a flight of Su-57 fighters was noticed. For the first time, the Buk-M3 air defense system is used in combat conditions.

I suspect there was a major change in Russia’s objectives: it went from de-militarization and de-nazification of ucraine to de-militarization and de-nazification of Donbass ? I hope that include Karkov and Odessa.
Interesting.
I suspect there has been no change in objectives at all. That everything is proceeding according to those objectives. Including the objectives that are not for public consumption.
Phase 1 was ‘fix and destroy’. Russia fixed Ukrainian forces in place and destroyed primary mobility and logistics stores. Also gained total air superiority. There is a thought that Russia hoped the Ukrainian politicians would come to their senses with a display of force but this did not happen.
Phase 2 is ‘border control’. Russia stated they will support the LDNR up to the taking of their respective Oblast borders. This is the current phase and is expected to go on for a few more months, but nobody knows the Russian operational timings.
Phase 3 is anybodies guess. Nobody knows the end goal of Russia but there are certainly signs of serious cracks in the nerve of the western politicians. I believe the Ukraine will be cut apart and what is left will be under Russian control, the rest of the lands will be Russian.
“Also gained total air superiority.”
If it gained total air superiority then why is it not flying bombers over Ukraine. They aren’t because Ukrainians still have a lot of anti-aircraft defense systems, therefore Russia doesn’t have “total” air superiority. Further, Russians report an average of 2 Ukrainian fighter jets shot down per day. This shows that Ukraine had over 200+ fighter aircraft after people claimed that the Ukrainian air force was “destroyed”. People way over-exaggerated Russia’s success at the start and that is why it now feels very bogged down.
Oh for heavens sake, do you know how tiring answering the same damned question time and time again is?
Heavy bombers mean essentially total infrastructure destruction, that is not in the Russian plans, they can stand off and pinpoint specific targets with precision missiles and reduce risk to civilian populations and operational wear on their equipment. Do you remember Putins statement that the Ukrainians are family?
SU-25 and SU-35 fly at will over the Ukrainian countryside, Ka and Mi choppers operate at will. Yes there are manpads – same manpads the US faced in Iraq and still claimed Total Air Superiority.
The Ukraine sent most of their planes off to neighbouring countries when the SMO started and may well have received resupply from ex-Soviet nations on the QT. These ones are probably flown now by NATO pilots or mercenaries. Doesn’t mean they can operate – every Ukrainian plane trying to conduct a mission gets taken out.
Honestly, the nonsense that is getting posted around this blog lately makes me despair. This actually seems pretty relevant to me right now “Norwegian researchers analyzed the IQ scores of Norwegian men born between 1962 and 1991 and found that scores increased by almost 3 percentage points each decade for those born between 1962 to 1975 – but then saw a steady decline among those born after 1975. “
The Great Walkback! What a pleasure it was to read your entry this morning, Amarynth.
The view from NYC mirrors your view in every detail. “Twas The Night before Christmas,” a popular children’s poem was in my mind yesterday—“visions of sugarplums danced in their heads,” much to the amusement of my stateside readers.
“You cannot appease Russia with some territory that they already have, or will take. Its not yours to give. Russia will decide exactly what happens to the Ukraine, how, and when. The Great WalkBack will make no difference to Russia’s decisions here as the core issue is a restructuring of the complete European security structural apparatus, in such a way that Russia is not threatened. The next steps from Russia will give us more insight into how they will accomplish this.”
Just perfect. No further comment needed.
Any “soldiers” using women and children as shields should be immediately executed upon capture.
I disagree. In every case, there should be a very public trial carried on YouTube and every available media outlet, extensively presenting the evidence of the atrocity, and a very formal public hanging, televised to the world. All very deliberate, unhurried, unquestionable justice and particularly bringing out who supported them, who paid their wages, who trained them to used such tactics or not, maybe they are career criminals released by the government, etc. All the sordid details should be presented in full public view, a small preview of what they are going to face on judgement day when they stand without defense before the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, where the prosecution is omniscient the Judge incorruptible and omnipotent, and the punishment is maximum pain in eternal solitary confinement.
In another interesting development, the Bulgarian government is close to collapse. This from Moskovsky Komsomolets via Yandex machine translation:
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska and Energy Minister Alexander Nikolov, who represent the “There is such a People” party, resigned on Monday. This is reported by the Bulgarian National Radio, noting that the members of the Cabinet of Ministers resigned after the decision to withdraw the ministers from the cabinet was made by the party leader Slavi Trifonov.
Last week, Trifonov said:: “I recall the ministers from the’ There is Such a People ‘ party and withdraw from this coalition.”
In his opinion, neither the Prime Minister nor the Finance Minister “are doing well” and “this coalition is not functioning properly.”
Trifonov gave this description of what is happening: “This is agony.”
After his appeal, Deputy Prime Minister (also known as the Minister of Regional Development of Bulgaria) Grozdan Karadzhov, as well as the head of the Ministry of Sports Radostin Vasilev, resigned from the government.
The head of the party decided to withdraw ministers from the government, thereby expressing his disagreement with the plans to discuss the updated version of the country’s budget.
Due to the fact that representatives of the “There is such a People” party left the Cabinet, the country again faced the threat of a power crisis.
At the same time, the ruling coalition stated that the holding of elections is considered an extreme measure in this situation.

– Writing is on the wall. Persistent Western reports backed by Ukie field comments to the effect that the UAF are simply running out of ammo for Soviet era artillery. Insufficient training for NATO supplied advanced weaponry to be a factor and that Russia is blowing up armaments almost as fast as it arrives.
– Chinese actions over Taiwan depend on whether Taipei declares independence and whether the US actually establishes bases on the island. China is too vulnerable to food and energy blockades to go to war unless their hand is forced.
Russia can supply all the wheat, oil and gas China needs. Thousand-year-old eggs? Plenty of those in the DC Capitol basement.
Shouldn’t be too difficult for China to overwhelm the island. Compare the sizes of Ukraine vs Taiwan

Russia questions the mental health of MEP Sikorsky and suggests he be kept home under supervision.
“The idea of supplying nuclear weapons to Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict between Kiev and Moscow amounts to provoking a “nuclear conflict in the center of Europe” and is downright insane, Russian State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said on Sunday.
“With such MPs, the Europeans will have much more serious troubles than those they have already faced today – refugees, record inflation, energy crisis,” Volodin said in a social media post.
Sikorski is instigating a nuclear conflict in the center of Europe. He does not think about the future of either Ukraine or Poland. If his proposals materialize, these countries will disappear, together with the whole of Europe.
Volodin also questioned the mental health of the veteran Polish diplomat, suggesting that the latter should be “examined by a psychiatrist,” surrender his MEP mandate, and stay home “under supervision” from now on. “Precisely because of people like Sikorsky, it is not only necessary to liberate Ukraine from the Nazi ideology, but also to demilitarize it, ensuring the country’s non-nuclear status,” the official added.

The Russian Foreign office released this card for Russia day yesterday.
It says “we asked them nicely not to expand eastward” next to headware of the Teutonic Knights, Poles, Napoleon and the Germans. And an empty box to fill in with the Current Thing.
Looking at the symbols of the Western [defeated] campaigns against Russia, I am not sure whether the second from the left is Polish hussar helmet…or could it be Swedish helmet? Poles were defeated and chased from Moscow, but Swedes were also catastrophycally defeated in the battle of Poltava
Could somebody help to clarify matters?
From the viewpoint of American English, ‘headgear’ is more common expression than ‘headware’ . No offense whatsoever to the author, please note
If we can dream it America can do it, what no country has done before.
Remember, you are dealing with Dr. Manhattan, the Terminator, Rambo, the First man on the Moon and Clint Eastwood, not to talk about General Eisenhower who invented D-Day and won WWII alone.
I wouldn’t put Clint Eastwood in with the rest of the Hollywood pack. Have seen his movie Richard Jewel? He really exposed the true color of the FBI.
Clint is a real hero, same class as Muhammed Ali. But I had to make the narrative look convincing ;-D.
Everyone – stay on topic please. Take this conversation to the cafe. Mod.
English is a chaotic and confusing language.
Perhaps the author meant “headwear”, as in clothing to wear on one’s head. If you say “headgear”, I think more of a helmet or earphones. “headwear” could be any type of hat.
So we have “hardware” for hammers and wrenches, but for to hats, it is “headwear”.
Of course, “headgear” might be appropriate as well, since all the icons of previous armies are helmets.
“but Swedes were also catastrophycally defeated in the battle of Poltava”.
I recall from reading Robert Massie’s biography of Peter the Great that in and around the battle of Poltava Peter enjoyed support from some Ukrainian (cossack) leaders and faced the betrayal Russia to the Swedes by some other Ukrainian (Cossack) leaders.
It has not yet dawned on the West that they have themselves destroyed any chance of a negotiated peace.
NATO, the EU, France, Germany, and the US have all demonstrated that their word is worthless, and that treaties with them will not be honoured.
Russia is going to re-arrange Europe unilaterally, and will stop when the arrangements guarantee its security.
The West needs to ask Russia what arrangements would satisfy its concerns, and Russia, rather than acting in isolation, needs to involve all those Countries which wish to be freed from an evil and belligerent hegemon.
A Global security Conference is needed. Every Country in the World needs to keep its Military its NGOs and its politicians inside its own borders; there will be a lot of resistance, to which Russia is demonstrating a solution which most Countries would wish to avoid.
The west does not want a negotiated peace, and the end of conflict in Ukraine will just be the start of the next phase of the SMO.
The only possible negotiated peace will be when NATO collapses (either politically or militarily) and the US begs Russia to accept the terms Russia proposed in a draft treaty last year.
Yippee! Macgregor mentions eastern Maine as a target! So I’ll be one of the vaporized that the survivors get to envy! 💃
It’s hard to believe our “leaders” are so stupid. Living examples of “hat size bigger than iq.”. They had 2 decades to “negotiate.”
Day late; $ short?
More like a decade late; $30T short.
And this whole mess was easily avoidable. All “they” had to do was stop threatening a sovereign nation. Also found the russia day card very amusing and appropriate for the current situation.
I do not know, why almost everyone expects LINEAR progress in SMO? Character of this conflict tends to be EXPONENTIAL. With sudden collapse of Ukrainian army at the end.
There is no single continuous or discontinuous mathematical function (of time), not even a vector function, that describes this war, more generally, any war. Only over a very short time interval (measured in few hours) one might be able to produce an interpolant. An extrapolation of such an interpolant is hazardous. Is it any wonder why Sun Tzu wrote “Art of War” , rather then “Math of War”. Yes, mathematics is used in several thousands of applications, from the very exact computations in exterior and interior ballistics, to flight control, signal processing, stochastic control, graph theory, combinatorics, and on, and on and on …, but it is clear that the context where it is used is critical.

> With sudden collapse of Ukrainian army at the end.
Exactly like enterprises go bankrupt: first gradually, then suddenly.
The recent news for today 06/13/22 is rather reassuring:
Ukraine confirmed the loss of control over the center of Severodonetsk.
Ukrainian authorities began evacuation from the suburb of Pryluky. Apparently the fire in the ammunition depots as a result of a Russian missile attack was really effective. The images of a thick column of smoke high above the city are indeed impressive, leading us to believe that it was a large ammunition depot that was hit.
Alex Christophorou of The Duran suggested that the next thing in Russia’s toolbox would be to de-Nazify the West altogether.
Probably why Washington is now talking up a conflict with China because the one in Ukraine went so well.
I suspect that Washington DC will be the first target of this new phase of the conflict.
I suggest that Russia already has people in place in DC as well as in the US Armed Forces and he is just waiting for the right time to pull the plug.
Given that most Americans have had it up to their eyeballs with the US federal government, I suggest the time may be very soon…
yes …I think way how it goes next 3 months …will be “eyes opener” for most US residents and for the world and it is about the time to SHTF..after loooooooong 19 months……
ESA (European Space Agency) returns to negotiation with Roscosmos about missions in space. This organization was saying a few weeks ago that it complied with the sanctions against Russia. These people are simply pathetic!!!!LOL
“White man speak with forked tongue” (1859). They never developed further than that.
Why should Russia help them?
Russia kicking @ss. Time to take another vowel out of ZelenskY’s name!!!
Somebody in the West must be thinking that maybe sending advanced weapon systems to the Ukraine is not such a good idea as Russia just destroys them. NATO may be dangerously low on weapons as they wait for the MIC to build more weapons on a rickety industrial base. The multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) is now the magic bullet to push back the Russians. But if Russian defense reports are to be believed (I do), Russia has destroyed something like 250+ of those systems already. On average two a day so far. How are the Western supplied systems going to avoid the same fate?
One of the assumptions I see from pro-Western arm chair generals is that the Russians will not or do not know how to shoot back. Makes sense in a way that after a generation of anti-Russian propaganda, the Russians are perceived as inferior and incompetent.
– On average two a day so far. How are the Western supplied systems going to avoid the same fate?
Who cares?
Erelis, apparently Russia doesn’t destroy all of them, as reports keep surfacing of US weapons in Ukraine advertised for sale on dark web, plus videos of cash sales in intel slava z.
US military is getting worried about the # of weapons getting sold to various & sundry terrorist groups worldwide
– Among the report’s most alarming revelations is that over the last decade, Algeria’s DRS has run a secret al-Qaeda training camp in the Tamouret region, with the knowledge of Western government security agencies.
Al-Qaeda camp — run by Algeria’s secret state
Over several years, Prof Keenan obtained direct eyewitness evidence from locals about the secret al-Qaeda camp in Tamouret, including from an AQIM member who trained there.

Killing civilians were part of training
– Trainee terrorists at Tamouret were schooled in sniping and throat-slitting. The camp was provided with a continual supply of prisoners — mostly criminals and dissenting soldiers — purely for the purpose of being killed during training.

(The Yemen-Saudi-Arabia war started by the Houthis realizing Al Qaeda in Yemen was US. Before that Yemen supported US)
They aren’t worried – it’s deliberate.
Right.
When Pentagon investigated how a fleet of yellow Toyotas donated by US could end up in Al Qaeda, the answer was it was office next door who was responsible.
The logic will be
1. US budget $100 mill to “Muslim terrorism”
2. Media tell “Muslim terrorists” are increasing their operations, and problem has to be addressed (problem-reaction-solution)
Very interesting essay by Amb. MK Bhadrakumar. The tale of two recent conferences. Overall heartening

(1) Neocons try to desperately tap out on the Ukraine mat. Hosted by CFR’s Haas, they struck a tableau of consternation. A General even complained of a lack of Diplomacy! They signaled a desire “.. that Russia turns Ukraine into a “frozen conflict” .. and a “strategic pause and a stalemate in the not-too-distant future” may open the door for diplomacy..” Precisely what Glazyev and many of us feared of dithering and half-measures wrt Operation Z. That Phase 3 may be frozen, due to whatever stratagem.. I personally doubted it. But the Desperados project. Are they threatening to quickly collapse themselves and thus global economy before sufficient decoupling has taken place? They may be down to pure black swan threats – nukes or a rapid market implosion to enforce a halt. I would think these desperate flailings have been gamed and a counter exists.
(2) VVP mocks them, belying and removing our doubts above. He promises them his own Long War (to salute off the recently departed Rummy), based on the model of the 21-year war with Sweden waged by Peter I. Does the West have the stamina?? And does VVP’s history lesson of reclamation of Russian lands include freeing of other slavic lands from their occupiers?
MKB also explores Europe’s turn to Holy War on Russia. What would be their banner? A WalkBack to the rainbow stripes of BrokeBack Mountain? And even the reticent retired Indian diplomat starts to touch the third-rail of calling our tormentor’s name openly, “the Anglo-Saxon!” Cold deep currents have been unleashed throughout Zone B..
Remember its a hydrid war. The Ukraine/Russia and military wars is just a little part of the globalist’s tools: https://canadianpatriot.org/2019/10/27/warnings-of-financial-armageddon-from-the-city-of-london-calls-for-a-one-world-green-currency-to-stop-the-new-silk-road/

Wall Street crashed today
I have been watching your relevant Andrei Martyanov videos on The Saker site for a while, and just read the June 12, 2022, “What Worries Me, Really …”
I began to worry about these kinds of weapons from the time I was a young teenager about sixty years ago. Indeed, many of my most important decisions during my lifetime were due to having thought about atomic weapons quantum jumping to become about 10 billion times more powerful than any weapons based on chemical energy. Indeed, the first generation that grew up with the development of weapons which have collectively become trillions of times more powerful than ever before in human history.
“… both the United States and Russia have and had for the last 50 years enough firepower to turn the whole planet into a cinder rock–it was and remains the common knowledge …”
Industrialized warfare was always the leading edges of the first priority, which was to make better weapons. Militarism as the supreme ideology, because militarism can be rightly regarded as the ideology of the murder systems which back up the money systems, and thereby everything else. There is only political system, organized crime. Warfare was organized crime on larger and larger scales.
In the days of sailing ships with cannons, it became questions of how much broadside fire could be discharged in how short a time, could quite quickly blow to bits wooden ships. However, I am sure that if one attempted to calculate all the power blasted in every naval cannon of those times, it would relatively trivial compared to the blast from atomic weapons.
Since human beings are themselves running on chemical energy, of course it is extremely difficult for them to genuinely understand atomic energy. Furthermore, “The West” has been carrying out deliberate dumbing down of their populations for generation after generation, to make it even more politically impossible for enough people to have any kind of accurate ideas regarding atomic weapons.
My entire career was directly due to seriously thinking about the development of weapons of mass destruction. However, that career could be best summarized by asserting that the most consistent theme was the more I learned about that, the worse it got.
Blair T. Longley,
“I began to worry about these kinds of weapons from the time I was a young teenager about sixty years ago.”
Well, you are still here, so you must be slightly older than me.
I understand your worry, and the power of nuclear energy. I did Maths and Physics, as my older brother, said, you have got to do that first. He was a bit of an electronics genius. You probably know the type, but I wanted to do computing and did. At the time, there was almost no money in being a scientist or even an engineer. Computing was a very tough game though cos the technology advanced extremely rapidly, which involved almost continuous re-education, cos within 3 years, your skills may be almost completely out of date, particularly if you get promoted to what is effectively a management, and then they fire you.
I am extremely fortunate, to have absolutely no experience of war in the 68 years of my life.
I try not to worry, but I do, mainly for the future of our Grandchildren.
Just think, what we could have done over the last 70 years, to turn our planet into a Green and Pleasent land, if instead of using nuclear power to create weapons of mass destruction, our best engineers and scientists, had been motivated and paid well, not to make even more weapons of mass destruction, but clean nuclear powered electricity on a vast scale, such that potentially we could even at least attempt to turn eg The Sahara Desert (where I have been several times) into an enormous Green Oasis via water desalination.
The main thing that has stopped this from happening are 2,000 year old ancient religions, and the Malthusians, and the War criminals, who like killing people for fun.
The reality of exponential population growth, is that it naturally stops, if these psychopaths in control, would just stop killing people.
Sometimes, I get close to despair, but who can I blame, except my generation.
I do like the Saker blog, and think Amarynth (and Herb) are stars. Someone has got to keep the ship together, when the Captain Saker, needs a break.
I am going to be a Granddaddy again soon, and I am delighted.
Tony
Tony, please stay on topic – this comment is for the MFC not here. Thanks. Mod.
Thanks for your reply, Tony.
One of the ways that I attempt to psychologically cope with the insanities regarding weapons of mass destruction is to perceive that:
ENERGY IS SPIRIT.
(Entropy is the scientific Satan.)
My view is that the laws of nature have driven the laws of men to become as dishonest as possible, which includes automatically getting more dishonest (at about an exponentially increasing rate at the present time.) One philosophical consolation is to remember that the laws of nature never stop working (although that includes how and why the history of successful warfare based on deceits and treacheries resulting in Civilization manifesting runaway criminal insanities.
By the way, every time that the Military Channel videos end with a general condemnation of violence, I find that ironically bizarre. Politics without violence is like physics without force. It is nonsense to assert any fundamental principle of non-violence. The only things that are marginally possible are developments of better dynamic equilibria between the various kinds of violence.
Human beings necessarily live as gangs of robbers in their environment. Of course, that situation is made much worse by how they almost all deny those fundamental facts about the lives of human beings as animals.
IMPOSSIBLE IDEALS MAKE THE OPPOSITE HAPPEN.
G’day Blair T. Longley,
You say:
‘Politics without violence is like physics without force.
IMPOSSIBLE IDEALS MAKE THE OPPOSITE HAPPEN.’
I disagree. Arguably nothing ‘is’ but thinking makes it so.
As I understand it, the Creation is the product of the Creator’s thought energy and hence everything in it is imbued with an element of consciousness emanating from the Creator’s mind. The process is presumably designed to enable the Creator to experience the material Creation through us, i.e. through conscious spirit beings.
The physical cosmos is composed of microscopic bits of mental energy vibrating at varying frequencies some of which coalesce to form matter. Thus inanimate matter is low frequency congealed, albeit conscious, energy.
As the process becomes more coherent, increasingly complex physical structures emerge. When those physical structures become sufficiently complex the Creator infuses them with life and creatures emerge. Those life forms initially develop as part of a group consciousness or soul.
When awareness of the external environment evolves in a group-minded creature, individualised animal life appears. Thus group-soul life forms evolve in consciousness to become animals. Then those creatures gradually increase in consciousness until they become aware of self i.e. they evolve an individual mind and soul. The process thus increases the consciousness nascent in all matter.
When the sense of awareness grows into a sense of self and the creature evolves an individual mind with a real sense of individuality, s/he is gifted by the Creator with an individual soul. Thereafter the Creator is able to experience the material cosmos through that individual.
When that ensouled individual starts to make moral decisions the Creator gifts him/her with a fragment of Creator consciousness which acts as an indwelling guide enabling the individual soul to become a spirit being and to commence the eternal spirit journey to meet the Creator via the reincarnation mechanism.
If follows that ensouled individuals are not mere animals. For some discussion of the physical aspects of human evolution on this planet see:
Human Evolution – Gregg Braden’s Perspective vs Mainstream… Something Happened 200,000 Years Ago
https://intothelight.news/files/2022-05-31-human-evolution.php
In my view, negative thinking about who we are as human beings is what causes disharmony, conflict and war. Arguably, for millennia the demonic Khazarian Mafia (KM) and their minions and useful idiots have used usury, false history and social engineering techniques to mind control humans on this planet into believing we are merely animals having no intrinsic worth, doomed to live a soulless, meaningless materialistic lives.* That demonic worldview provides no place for love and hence human conflict and war is the only reality. The KM has achieved this result by infiltrating and controlling ever increasing portions of human society over several millennia until today we inhabit the dystopia that Russia is currently rectifying.
*Arguably that process was accelerated by the Pharisees’ crucifixion of Christ Jesus and the neo-Pharisee (KM’s) destruction of the Roman empire and its use of that empire to establish the Christian religion which it has used to deceive billions of humans into thinking they are infantile, supplicant ‘featherless bipeds’ in a meaningless world in which the only imperative is survival of the fittest. For some discussion of this view see eg: Judaism and Christianity – Two Thousand Years of Lies – 60 Years of State Terrorism http://abundanthope.net/pages/Political_Information_43/Judaism-and-Christianity—Two-Thousand-Years-of-Lies—60-Years-of-State-Terrorism.shtml
In truth human beings are spirits, fragments of the Creator, and we merely inhabit physical bodies in order to experience the Creation for the Creator. Inanimate matter is low frequency congealed energy. As matter increases in complexity the Creator infuses it with life and increasing consciousness. The result is that we have been gifted with spiritual life and free will. Accordingly we can choose love and eternal life, or reject it.
We are not loveless animals. We are eternal spirit beings. Even our debauched scientific community is starting to realise that Darwinian evolution is a tissue of lies and that inexplicable conscious manipulations have changed our DNA. See eg:

– [Macron] France “has entered into a war economy in which I believe we will find ourselves for a long time,” he said during the opening of the Eurosatory arms expo in Paris. The French president said that Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine created “an additional need to move faster and become stronger at a lower cost.”

12 years too late for France. Putin concluded the same 14 years ago.

Chinese banks in trouble
– From the Financial Times on June 9:
“Some depositors such as Xu have already lost trust in the system. The 39-year-old said he had withdrawn all of his deposits from 10 other small banks that had promised him an annualised yield of more than 4 per cent.
“Another depositor, a 30-year-old father, said he had placed more than Rmb900,000 in his village’s banks since 2020 at a return of 4.1 per cent. “I felt like being slaughtered,” he said, declining to give his name. He drove overnight to negotiate with the banking regulator in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan, in mid-May. “This is the money my wife and I have saved together since we got married. I had to lie to her that I was away for work.”
Quite naive to think the FT reporters have credibility. The gang has consistently missed targets for a decade or so. Recently, they assured their readership that China would have negative growth this year. I hope the journalists hold their breath.

Ukrainians are as hapless to throw away Kiev ruling class as Germans were with Nazi regime. These kind of revolutions seldom happen.
Speaking of karkhov, many reports of cluster bombs on civilians, on parks, playground for kids. We’ll its pure terror from the part of Russia. What’s the benefit of that but terrorising and killing civilians. You don’t know if there’s militaries inside this zones, shelling from 70, 80km. deep concern and sadness about that
Russia doesn’t use cluster munitions, but the Ukrainians do.
THE COLLAPSE OF THE HEGEMON: WHAT WILL THE FATAL MISTAKE OF BIDEN COST THE US
.
Economist Sergei Glazyev warns that the US is close to collapsing the global dollar system.
.
Economist Sergei Glazyev said that the financial system of Western countries “is confidently moving towards the abyss.” Not because of the NWO, but because of the internal laws of the change in world economic structures. Neither the covid virus launched from American biological laboratories, nor the hybrid world war unleashed by the US intelligence services will save the American oligarchy. They will only delay the collapse of the structures of financial and economic exploitation of the whole world built by them, – Glazyev expressed his opinion in his Telegram channel. According to him, the US elites “under the guise of a pandemic wrote off 30 trillion dollars of obligations. Now they just went to zero their obligations to Russia and a number of other countries that they do not like.”
“There is no more freedom of maneuver. As predicted 10 years ago in my book The Last World War: The United States Starts and Loses, the final phase of the collapse of American hegemony is coming. The main cards – the use of the dollar and the occupation of Ukraine – are played against Russia. Spydell writes about the beginning collapse of the dollar global pyramid. We need to hold out for two years until the end of American hegemony,” the economist emphasizes.

There was a rather large explosion west of Donesk today, reported as a strike on a Ukrainian ammo dump. From the picture, big bang. Might explain where the Ukrainians we’re getting all the ammo to attack Donbass towns.
Also reports of the top Ukrainian commander in the Kherson region defected. Not sure if that’s old news. He is calling on his men to lay down arms. Good news if true.
Cheers M
Kinda thinking RF will try to complete as much clearing of the LDNR before Ms Elinsky does its song and dance at the NATO meetings scheduled in two weeks or so.
“There was a rather large explosion west of Donesk today, reported as a strike on a Ukrainian ammo dump.”
Hopefully that is true but Russians need to destroy a whole lot more or the means to deliver all that ammo as the women and children in Donbass are being slaughtered as never before by the Ukrainian forces.
“We have no idea what the Russian end-point is, except for this part of the SMO, demilitarization and denazification of the two Donbass Republics.”
Okay, but it’s also demilitarization and denazification of the whole country:
“MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) – Russia will ensure the demilitarization of Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said. ‘We want the Ukrainian people or, as [Russian] President Vladimir Putin has said, all peoples who live in the territory of contemporary Ukraine to have an opportunity to determine their future freely and without encountering attempts to drive them into the claws of the Bandera psychology,” Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow on Friday.” He said, “Russia will ensure the demilitarization of Ukraine. Russia will ensure the denazification of Ukraine.'”
Well, there is only one experience with “denazification and demilitarization”: 1945 – Germany. The winners occupied the whole of it. They split it and controlled everything for years and they forcefully transformed the national mindset (we see that it happened). In a recent interview published here, Patrushev said that Ukraine would be denazified like Germany in 1945. However, I think denazification finally refers to anti-Russian feelings in Ukraine, which would be made worse by treating them as “Germans” from the 1930s or 40s. Germany was made to experience that by her enemies. Putin refused to call it “war” because it’s Ukraine, which spells out the big difference between both cases. Since I think Patrushev was only speaking for himself, I believe Russia has no set plan for “denazification.” I also believe it will not be the main thing. Russia will mostly just continue to give out passports, rebuild, and do things that are appreciated. (“Let’s grow together!” is sort of Russia’s message to them.)
I think both ‘demilitarization’ and ‘denazification’ only point to some unacceptable and intolerable conditions for Russia that were the cause of the SMO. Besides pointing to these conditions as their reason, these terms are neither ends nor means but help distinguish what the “end-point” is. If the end-point is only to recover the Donbass and secure Crimea, then both terms would not have been chosen. Leaving Western Ukraine as what some call a “rump state” (a new state or country) may justify their coming up with these two terms, but the problem is that there can be no “maybes” for the end-point chosen. Maybe Western Ukraine would become unstable after denazification and demilitarization, both politically and economically, and more poor; also, Russia already says that Poland wants to take over Western Ukraine, and saying it means Russia will not allow it, especially not as a consequence of the SMO. I remember that Putin once said that Russia didn’t want to live “looking over its shoulder.” Might it not have to look over its shoulder at this truly repressed rump state and at Poland gaining influence there later? Maybe yes, maybe no, most likely yes. The Soviet Union lost its “buffer zone”, and this can’t be forgotten by them. The idea of leaving Zelensky in power (as Russia allowed for before) must be PsyOps or something.
Looks like only the “recovery” of Ukraine for Russia end-point does “ensure the demilitarization of Ukraine”, and the “denazification of Ukraine” (Lavrov). It’s leaders like Lavrov who point to the biggest end-point without saying it.
Western economies are in a lot of trouble. The canary in the coal mine which is the stock markets are starting to melt down. Inflation is raging and you can’t print money or spend your way out of it.
All sections of western society are being impacted. Always put self interest first. Ukraine will be told to make peace.

I should have added this to the short sitrep – part of the Great WalkBack.
Finland president Sauli Niinisto: We will not join NATO without Sweden. First indication they might be having second thoughts about NATO membership.

Easy to have “second thoughts” whenever goals are not reachable.
It reminds us of the story of the fox and the grapes.

The FOX AND THE GRAPES
Story in English
One Hot Afternoon, Fox was walking through the “SunderVan” Forest somewhere in Asia.
Suddenly he spotted a large bunch of Grapes.
A juicy bunch of grapes was hanging from the branch of a tree.
“Wow, So juicy, seems like ready to be eaten” the Thirsty fox said. Fox was thirsty and hungry too, so he wanted to eat them.
Grapes were at some height but proudly Fox was confident on his jump. He took a few steps back, ran, and jumped.
Guess What! he could not even touch them.
“Let’s Try Again” saying this, He decided to give it one more try. No Luck this time as well.
He failed again. Juicy grapes were still far beyond his reach.
“Third and Last, This time Grapes will be Mine” said the confident Fox, trying hard again but still Grapes were completely out of her reach.
Disheartened Fox seeing the grapes said – “Such a fool I am, This is not the right season, Grapes must be Sour for sure”
He moved away on his way consoling himself.

Turkey threw a wrench into their “fast track” into NATO, demanding members of the Kurd resistance be extradited to Turkey, and several other demands, which clearly impinge upon Sweden’s sovereignty, since Kurds are already a settled minority with political representation.
It looks like Sweden is between a rock and a hard place with Turkey’s conditions, and has somehow “postponed” their “fast track” NATO membership. Finland now “does not want to join NATO without Sweden,” as if Sweden were Finland’s conjoined twin.

After 100 days the SMO still has not been able to stop the Ukrainian artillery terrorist attacks. As difficult as it is to locate mobile artillery devices and retaliate immediately, it is clear that these attacks cannot continue.
And once again the question arises: why doesn’t Russia destroy the Command Centers in Kiev?
Until recently it was possible to assume that among the reasons could be:
– the need to first neutralize Azov’s main contingent in Mariupol.
– to await deepening divisions between the Ukrainian military leadership and the government.
– advancing the offensive in the Donbass, along with the annihilation of the most capable Ukrainian troops.
– await the beginning of the collapse of the triumphant US/NATO narrative, with Zelensky subsequently being blamed for the defeat.
It now appears that these conditions are met. And Russia will find itself in the unavoidable situation of attacking the Command Centers in Kiev. Not least because this may accelerate Zelensky’s downfall.
The war is bound to escalate. It is up to Russia to dictate how and when the escalation takes place. So far she has been very successful.

On the shelling of Donetsk.
1. The shelling of Donetsk, obviously, is of a terrorist nature and has no direct military meaning. Just as the vast majority of the shelling of Donetsk since 2014 had no direct military meaning.
2. Nevertheless, the hidden meaning of the terrorist shelling of Donetsk is that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the army of the DPR reduced pressure on Artemovsk, Severodonetsk and Slavyansk, throwing part of their forces into the dubious frontal assault on the Avdeevsky fortified area, because the main striking forces are concentrated in other directions and even if we assume that the command will go along with the enemy and begin to withdraw troops from the main directions to Avdiivka, then this will take time, while not guaranteeing results in the capture of Avdiivka itself (see Marinka and Ugledar).
3. Counter-battery warfare at this stage cannot guarantee the cessation of such shelling, so they will continue. An asymmetric response to such actions, given the inability to stop this problem in a short time by military means, is the infliction of punitive strikes on important infrastructure and political centers – the Regional State Administration, power plants, the administrative quarter in Kyiv, etc. To mark the cost of continuing such terrorist practices.
4. The absence of clear (primarily for the population) response measures will lead to an objective increase in dissatisfaction with the inability of the army to clearly respond to such actions. The enemy naturally also keeps this dissatisfaction in mind when conducting terrorist attacks. And since there is no clear answer, there is no reason to stop.
5. Alternative option. Do not react – the population endures further, the military continues to methodically follow the plan of operation to defeat the Armed Forces of Ukraine, concentrating on solving priority military tasks. From a military point of view – a logical option. From the political point of view, it is costly.
《While strikes on “decision-making centres” in Ukraine would have significant benefits for the Russian campaign, the downsides cannot be ignored either.
Any such strikes must be conducted with the understanding that they will likely lead to further patriotic consolidation in the Nazified part of the Ukrainian society and additional support from the West. Provided these downsides can be included in the calculus, addressed, and mitigated, such strikes should be considered.
It should be expected that neither Zelensky, nor the remaining Ukrainian leadership and military command will suffer from any such attacks (just like the strike that left a gaping hole in the Nikolayev regional administration building left Kim unscathed). Strikes on delivery and logistics infrastructure are of far greater importance, and they have not been doled out in sufficient quantity. A tit-for-tat strategy does not always work the way intended.》
https://t.me/Slavyangrad/1490
Points 4 and 5 are more difficult because the Donbass once asked to be incorporated into Russia and Russia rejected their request. When Ukraine was bombing some Russian border towns, Russia responded that Ukraine’s leadership would be struck if this continued. I think those attacks stopped then; they didn’t continue. Those citizens of Donetsk must by now be Russian with a passport too.
In fact the attacks on Russian border towns continue because Russia has not been responding properly to these attacks. Same thing for attacks on Donetsk civilians, they will not stop until Russia makes the nazis pay a price order of magnitudes higher that what the nazis are willing to endure.

Thanks for the link.

Should listen at the 1.17 mark – for about five minutes…
Matter of fact, you should listen to it al…but it is, naturlich, up to You. It is GOLD.
Zelensky boasts in The New York Times today, asking Russia whether the SMO was worth it. I don’t think Putin will allow him to bomb Donetsk cities and just not let him bomb Russian cities. Zelensky must be making a big mistake. They are Russians too in Donetsk and it’s only a matter of time before they become part of Russia after the war, so historical, key questions are at stake in how Moscow reacts to these attacks by comparison with how it reacted before.
The people who are shelling women and children are working arm in arm with the trolls who appear regularly in comment sections to drum up hatred of Russia for not stopping the shelling. Most of these trolls are professional propagandists,, prostituting themselves for Western Governments.
We judge people by their associates, and the trolls associates are war criminals.
I am sure that the continuing atrocities torment the Russian Military just as much as the rest of us, and, I am sure too, that the Russians are doing everything in their power to stop the shelling.
What the Russians will NOT do is to obliterate the maternity hospitals and kindergartens in which the Nazis are hiding. That is the very thing which the concern trolls are trying to achieve, so that they can create more anti Russian propaganda,
CitizenSmith, two questions about these facts: 1) Russia warned that if Ukraine did not stop bombing Russia’s border towns, the Ukrainian leadership in Kiev would not be spared anymore (would be attacked). 2) The attacks on the border towns stopped then. 3) The Donetsk people are Russians…Questions: Should Donetsk receive the same protection as Russia’s border towns? Are they any less Russian because they live in Donetsk when the young men are even fighting together with Russia’s soldiers for the same cause?
A “no” answer looks unfair and foolish to many. It does not make them “concern trolls.”
@CitizenSmith
It’s not so simple.
Except for those of us who are thousands of miles away from Donetsk.
But if we were under attack for 8 years, and even after the start of the SMO still suffering from the murder of our friends, children, parents and beloved ones, we would obviously be desperate for an end to such suffering.
The geopolitical analysis of the macro-scale dispute between global economic and political mega-interests should never ignore the concrete situation of concrete people suffering as a result of these disputes.

The elder stateman of American war criminals, Henry Kissinger, is still clinging to the delusion that he can prevent Eurasian integration through America’s imperial divide-and-conquer tactics by playing Russia against China, just as Kissinger played China against the Soviet Union during the First Cold War.
Kissinger’s comments are also Orwellian, as he knows damn well that America baited Russia into launching its special military operation against Ukraine in order to weaken Russia–with the goal of turning Russia into an outpost of America, as it was becoming in the 1990s under Boris Yeltsin.
The American plan was that, once the USA had effectively regime changed or balkanized Russia and turned it into an outpost of American imperial power, the USA could then move on to the next target of Full Spectrum Dominance ambitions: China.
Too late, Herr Kissinger.
America’s plan to “weaken Russia” (as Gen. Lloyd Austin called it) have failed big time.
You are a day late and a dollar … or Ruble short.
Has anyone noticed how inviting is that wide Dragon mouth is of the Dobass frontline? It’s almost like an invitation – come one come all – send us your best fighters, weapons, food, intelligence, you name it….
One quip that comes to mind, seeing the # of advertised UAVs shot down daily, is “Drones for the Dragon, please!”
I do not claim to be some kind of grand strategist or such, but as a scientist used to analyzing unknown phenomena, with but a trickle of data and lots of noise to bury signals, I did start to see a pattern of sorts, emerging, so to speak, from the dense fog of war.
And what I see is a giant cauldron not getting snapped shut but remaining open and —- well, inviting. You know the one to the west of the slabiansk-kramatorsk line.
That plus mini cauldron, like the one with Sevirodonetsk, Lisichanck at its center. less than 100 kn separating the north and south Russian BTG, yet, moving at a snail pacem along lines that may not offer the greatest resistance todire control.
I see the outlines and the deliberate slow movement whenever I tune into Military Summary channel (good one there – almost makes up for the loss of our estimable Nightvision – long may he prosper wherever he absconded to**). The MS guym Dima is I believe his name is, gives a good picture of where and how Ukrainian forces may be distributed, and what courses of action are open to them along the frontlines. But left unsaid is what’s left outside the frontlines, right along and beside the supply lines. Some of which remain strangely operational (like the one through seversk – just look at where it is relative to the Russian front in the North of it. less than 20 kn away, yet not fully cut off, not even bombed to kingdom come. may be for a reason? like keep that traffic moving east?).
____
** I still believe Nightvision was getting too close to what the behind-the-scenes strategy might have been. I mean for those who read between and just behind the lines. Disclaimer: scientists have “theories” and looking for patterns is their stock in trade. Also they a million excellent excuses when they turn out to be wrong……

agreed, NV, was very close. he once mentioned a person, dragon or something near, who posted maps & being requested to stop, & i’ve wondered if NV was perhaps also received such a request. :-)
So now it’s the US Empire (and its Ukrainian proxy) that are “desperate” and “might resort to using nuclear weapons”?

One very critical problem I see with the SMO so far is the low level of supplies the brave LDNR fighters have. Every pro-Russian Telegram channel have posts asking for donations for military supplies for those troops. And countless pictures showing the supplies bought and delivered from those donations. There was even a report on RT about how Russian volunteer groups are helping supply military equipment. What that says is that even if the Russian army may be well supplied. Their allies in the LDNR are not.
It’s not good that the Russian military is not helping more to supply those troops. Some of them have to get uniforms, radios, drones, helmets, body armor, tents, etc, etc,as well as even trucks from patriotic civilian volunteers, and from donations. Many if not most of their tanks, artillery, even many of their rifles and side arms, seems to come from captured “trophies” or home constructed weapons. In one of Patrick Lancaster’s videos we even saw them using bed rolls brought from home to sleep on in captured tents. And with some of their weapons dating back to WW2. I think those stories we’ve heard over the last 8 years about Russian military supplies being sent them were wildly exaggerated.
The Russians need to address that issue and start supplying the needed weapons and other equipment. If nothing else start opening up the stocks of supplies held in reserve for the reserve units that aren’t being mobilized for the SMO.The LDNR troops are an important part of the fighting in the SMO. They need to be supplied correctly to maximize the efforts they can make for victory.
Just one of countless examples:

It is a UUUGE organizational/logistical nightmare. Throwing the legalistic issues aside.
My mind shrinks in horror as soon as I open it to the “big picture” of it all.
Just going through methodically the problematics of the captured/killed/wounded/prosecuted ukr. troops would overwhelm the capacities of most countries…and that is removed by a magnitude from the needs of the immediate SMO.
This “thing” will necessarily escalate – and WE ALL need to involve ourselves in some or other capacity.
Please, get Your affairs in order and prioritize Your needs.
Get ready!
MSN reports about the Donbass say it is falling under the control of Russia. The reports appear somber, the facial expressions also, but Zelensky vows today to “liberate” even Crimea. I can make sense of him by visualizing his dancing video, but I can welcome explanations for these remarks from El Zelensky today:
“And I ask everyone who has such an opportunity to communicate with people in the occupied south…say that there will be liberation,” he continued. “Say it to Gorlovka, Donetsk, Lugansk. Tell them that the Ukrainian army will definitely come.” “Of course, we will liberate our Crimea as well. Let every Russian official who has seized precious land in Crimea remember: this is not the land where they will have peace,” he threatened.” – RT
The puppet theory would be fine, drugs, the ventriloquist explanation, madness, any explanation. I think the madness explanation may be the one. When I think of some of the comedian videos, he does look mad in them. He could be believing that superior powers will soon come – UFOs – and give him the victory.
I just, I shall finish this sentence if I stop laughing, reread this quote that cracked me up, “Of course, we will liberate our Crimea as well.” He is a good comedian. He may be getting ready to escape.
In 1991 when the USSR fell, the neo-cons became full of bluster and hubris and began thinking in terms of an everlasting global Empire, setting up a system targeting any potential competitor preventing them from gaining too much power. Some believe that, as part of that plotting, an old Polish dream came across someone’s desk, a dream that envisioned Poland expanding its territory from the Baltic to the Black Sea. Such an event would be very attractive to America, seeing as how Poland is a faithful and reliable ally to the US and a dedicated Russian-hating state whose hate would fit well into the US future plans to isolate, weaken, break up and destroy the Russian State, grabbing her resources and opening the way to the ultimate target, China. But in order to accomplish this, Ukraine stood in the way. So what to do?
I suspect someone came up with the idea to cause chaos in Ukraine and draw it away from Russia as a first step. But how to destroy the country and open an opportunity for Polish expansion? Well, how about drawing Russia into a war with Ukraine and encouraging Ukraine by promising Western support until the last standing Ukrainian? They hoped that such chaos would afford Poland the opportunity to first befriend and support Ukraine, then to march in and take over the land Poland always claimed as hers. Thus Poland would have what she always wanted (though less territory than envisioned, as she wanted Belarus and possibly Romania as well), and the US would have a Russian-hating and fiercely loyal ally virtually walling off Europe from Russia, thus affording an opportunity to isolate Russia, cause serious and continuous provocations on her Western borders and eventually weaken her through attrition.
I think Russia has well seen through this plan. But Russia being Russia has developed a plan of her own.
I watched Russian TV during Russia Day and as I looked out across the huge sea of Russian patriots, young and old, in front of the Kremlin, it came to me suddenly the huge significance of what I was witnessing – the awakening of the bear. Nothing on earth is more fierce than an attacking bear. Normally a peace-loving creature, it unmercifully, untiringly, relentlessly rips through everything in its path to shreds, especially when protecting its own.
We have provoked one of God’s fiercest creatures. God help us.
Victor,
It’s more than the RF, it’s most of the world. NATO lands are completely isolated. Never believed it could happen so fast.
I just really loved this:
“I watched Russian TV during Russia Day and as I looked out across the huge sea of Russian patriots, young and old, in front of the Kremlin, it came to me suddenly the huge significance of what I was witnessing – the awakening of the bear. Nothing on earth is more fierce than an attacking bear. Normally a peace-loving creature, it unmercifully, untiringly, relentlessly rips through everything in its path to shreds, especially when protecting its own.”
The unprecedented shelling of Donetsk is of course just beyond the pale and horrible and leaves one again in total outrage. It is open revenge killing. In Germany it is reported they are saying the Russians shelled. It went to the UNSC:
UNITED NATIONS, June 14. /TASS/. The reports about shelling of a maternity hospital in Donetsk raise concern, Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric told TASS on Monday, adding that this is an obvious breach of the international humanitarian law.
“We have seen the media reports about a maternity hospital in Donetsk. This is extremely troubling. Any attack on civilian infrastructure, especially health facilities, is a clear violation of international law,” he said.
Earlier on Monday, the DPR’s mission to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime reported massive shelling of cities and settlements in the republic from MLRS and artillery of various calibers, including an unprecedentedly powerful and sustained shelling of Donetsk. One of shells hit the local maternity hospital, setting it on fire.
The Ukrainian forces have been heavily bombarding Donetsk in recent days. The most intense escalation since 2014 was registered on May 30, when the Ukrainian armed forces used 155mm artillery and US M777 howitzers, as well as fired four rockets from the Smerch multiple launch rocket system into residential areas, causing civilian casualties.
Yet, it has no real significance as to the overall progress of the battle. This stuff is equally just horrible. From the Russian MoD – 32 Ukrainian servicemen in the process of surrender, were just shot in the back.
▪️The Ukrainian army continues to suffer significant losses during the special military operation.
❗️I would like to note that in recent weeks, incidents involving the shooting of Ukrainian servicemen in the back by nationalist units have become more frequent in areas of military operations. Thus, after a fire preparation for an attack by Russian troops near Novomikhailovka in Donetsk People’s Republic, more than 30 servicemen of the 25th Battalion of the 54th Mechanized Brigade of AFU decided to lay down their arms and surrender.
▪️Ukrainian servicemen occupying a stronghold near Zvioroferma asked the Russian unit command via radio to cease fire and provide a corridor for exit.
Around 10 p.m., AFU servicemen with white flags began moving towards Russian positions.
▪️At that moment, Ukrainian nationalist barrier unit arrived at the stronghold in armored vehicles and opened crossfire in the back on the servicemen of the 54th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. As a result of this shooting, 32 Ukrainian servicemen were fatally wounded and killed.
▪️This incident, as well as many others like it, clearly demonstrates that amid growing military failures and demoralization of Ukrainian troops, the Kiev nationalist regime is trying to stop the retreat and surrender of its units by punitive actions of barrier squads.
▪️The lives of Ukrainian servicemen and mobilized fighters of territorial defence units mean nothing to the current leadership of Ukraine.

Ending Ukie terrorism here is a very difficult problem.
“The DPR requested additional allied assistance from Russia. This happened against the backdrop of heavy shelling of the capital of the republic by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In Moscow and Donetsk, the shelling was called barbaric, among the dead there are women and children.
The head of the DPR Denis Pushilin said that the republic is requesting additional allied forces from Russia because of the increase in shelling of Donetsk. According to him, “Kiev has crossed all the lines.”
“The Kremlin, by the way, also considered barbaric the intensification of shelling of civilian facilities in Luhansk and Donetsk. “We see absolutely barbaric shelling, barbaric! In recent days, we have witnessed the intensification of these attacks,” Dmitry Peskov said.”
For example, everyone understands that it is very difficult to storm Avdiivka, from where the shelling of Donetsk is being conducted.
Now we will have to move the enemy away from Donetsk with incredible efforts, so that their artillery and missiles simply do not finish off the city. This can be done only after all the combat positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been established. Then they can be targeted,” Baranets added.
He also noted that it will not be easy to do this. “Many positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stand pressed against residential buildings. On the one hand, we could hit them, razing the city to the ground. But our people live there, here we are limited in opportunities. That is why we are moving “on tiptoes”, gradually destroying the enemy’s forces,”
“The fact is that representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine quickly put their artillery in position, make several volleys and then leave. We simply do not have time to respond to this with the means that are at our disposal. I am sure that our military has already told Moscow exactly what we need and in what quantity. And Russia will definitely help, as it has always done,” the deputy concluded.”
https://vz.ru/world/2022/6/14/1162921.html
So, the Russians are on it. One commenter in the article asks however “Why buildings of the SBU and other government institutions in Kiev are still standing.”
A fair point.
““We see absolutely barbaric shelling, barbaric! In recent days, we have witnessed the intensification of these attacks,” Dmitry Peskov said.””
It’s not what he would say if it were border Russian towns being shelled, not the same words. He would sound threatening if that were the case. If it’s to the Donbass Russians, he deplores only. He expresses outrage only.
Why? From this distance, it looks bad. Yet, it’s also as if one were missing something in the picture.
If you have a Russian passport, as I read was offered and given to anyone in the Donbass who wants one, are you less of a Russian depending on where you live?
My own answer is one based on a typical politician anywhere: That they actually care the same about all, but that they care more about the border town Russians because this shelling can affect their own standing in Russia, whereas the bombing of Donetsk cannot have the same repercussion on them. It is an untenable position eventually, so I think Zelensky is most likely making a mistake because “deploring” will not be enough in Russia itself (eventually), and then any bombing will be the same as if it were a Russian border town (that’s what I figure).
On Russian retaliation for Ukrainian artillery terrorist attacks on civilian targets in Donetsk, it seems clear that:
– it will not be carried out against civilian targets in Kiev.
– Military targets in Kiev have been regularly hit.
– destruction of government installations in Kiev may even have high emotional repercussions (in the revenge sense), but are of low military consequence (in the practical sense).
– Attacking the SBU facilities would only have a relevant effect (game-changer) if it neutralized its top leadership as well as its telecommunication capacity.
It also seems clear that any attack against high-value targets, personal or otherwise, should be determined by its direct and immediate consequence in two respects:
– accelerate the fall not only of Zelensky but of the regime itself, providing for the rise of a government committed to the authentic interests of the people of Ukraine, and not mere puppetry in the service of the US/NATO.
– contribute effectively to removing the terrorist restrictions (applied by the neo-Nazis in controlling the military command on the battlefield) on the surrender of Ukrainian troops.
If Russia is blowing up armaments almost as fast as it arrives.
How are the Nazis able to fire 300 rockets and shells at Donetsk in two hours?

Something needs to be done about this.

“…If you have a Russian passport, as I read was offered and given to anyone in the Donbass who wants one, are you less of a Russian depending on where you live?”
———————
This is blatant subliminal trolling, between the lines one can see the venomous intentions of the poster, who conveniently sidelined clarifying aspects of the article in which he based his…poison.
In the (very) stupid innuendo posed as a question, suggesting that Russia allows the continuation of Donetsk’s shelling because Donetsk Russians are considered second class citizens, the poster conveniently “forgets” a political reality: the DPR is an independent, sovereign, REPUBLIC, and Russia is there as an ally of LDNR. Russia cannot tell them what to do to defend their country, DPR officials, however, are taking the initiative and requesting from Russia what they consider they need to counter the nazi trash shelling.
Second, the poster blatantly ignores the military reality.
Avdiivka has been turned into a fortress by the “Right Sector” and the UkroWerhmacht, between 15 and 20 thousand men using civilians as human shields, entrenched among the civilian population.
“…Many positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are pressed against residential buildings. On the one hand, we could hit them, razing the city to the ground. But our people live there, and we have limited opportunities here. That is why we are moving “on tiptoe”, gradually destroying the enemy’s forces, ” Baranets stated…
An integral part of any war is to arrange provocations that will force the enemy to despair and launch attacks destined to fail, as they are a reaction for which the enemy has been prepared well in advance. As military expert Vladislav Shurygin told VZGLYAD newspaper,
“… In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are now trying to distract the Allied forces from performing their current tasks. So, for example, everyone understands that it is very difficult to storm Avdiivka, where Donetsk is being shelled. And that’s where extra effort is needed. Therefore, the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrate general activity in this area.”
The expert described what is happening in Donetsk as a provocation against Russian troops. “I do not rule out that this is an attempt to force our troops to take tougher measures on Avdiivka. But no one will storm it, as they say, head-on. Otherwise, it will lead to huge and meaningless losses. It is necessary to surround the city, do it carefully, understanding the complexity of the task, ” Shurygin stressed…
On another note, I posted a long comment a few threads ago, stating the reasons why the Allied forces will not take on Fortress Avdiivka. First of all, the DPR will not fall into the trap to storm the city head-on for obvious reasons, and secondly, the nazis are occupying a chemical plant and using it as part of their fortified positions. I received several comments from posters expressing their understanding, it seems the “subliminal trolling” poster missed that comment.
Here it is, FYI.
/open-thread-9/#comment-1103149
Another reason for the shelling is the same “psychological subtext” that allows the subliminal trolling to make its way here with such vitriol.
“There is also a psychological subtext that should not be overlooked. The shelling of Donetsk against the background of Moscow’s reports of achievements at the front should cause discontent among Russian citizens. After all, if the special operation is successful, why do civilians continue to suffer? ” the source said.
What can we expect from someone who uses the NYT and The Moscow Times to back his comments?
Not happy with just one vitriolic comment, the poster answers his own post by adding that “…they (the Russians, Ed.) care more about the border town Russians because this shelling can affect their own standing in Russia, whereas the bombing of Donetsk cannot have the same repercussion on them…”
Duhhh…such a profound insight.

An important fact to complement your post quoted above (about the difficulties in suppressing Ukrainian artillery shelling positioned in Avdiivka) is the short distance between Avdiivka and Donetsk, being only 15km.
It was precisely a distance of only 11km between the airport and the center of Donetsk, the dramatic reason for the fierce and determined battles for its control in 2014/2015.
Until DPR troops definitively occupied the airport, preventing the Ukrainians from continuing to use it as an artillery base for terrorist attacks against the civilian population of Donetsk.
You state that “Avdiivka has been turned into a fortress by the “Right Sector” and the “UkroWerhmacht.” Okay, I don’t know why they bomb indiscriminately from far away when this could end up killing their own soldiers, unless is it done in a well-aimed fashion from nearby (I think it’s indiscriminate shelling). Is their presence that strong in Avdiivka? That must be the report, but if it’s under their military control and if they are shelling that city indiscriminately, it’s to be checked.
We know that they are not yet part of Russia. Anyway, because they have Russian passports, are ethnic Russians, are fighting together with Russians against the ‘Ukronazis’, arkx Brasil and I wonder why Russia’s reaction to so much shelling has not yet been what it was when Russian border towns were shelled. Russia warned that the leadership in Kiev would pay for any more attacks on those towns, and the attacks stopped. Would Donetsk be shelled today if that warning had extended to Donbass cities? We will never know. We know that the Ukronazi leadership in Kiev must have taken note the warning did not apply to Donetsk.
“I posted a long comment a few threads ago, stating the reasons why the Allied forces will not take on Fortress Avdiivka.”
“Fortress Avdiivka” was not mentioned by me. You almost say that they are Ukrainians who are being bombed by Ukrainians, don’t you? “…the DPR is an independent, sovereign, REPUBLIC, and Russia is there as an ally of LDNR. Russia cannot tell them what to do to defend their country, DPR officials, however, are taking the initiative and requesting from Russia what they consider they need to counter the nazi trash shelling.“
If “their country” (a country with Russian passport carrying citizens) gave them permission to tell them how to defend their country now, what would Russia “tell them”? It’s not like they’re good Ukrainians. They are Russians who already asked to be incorporated into Russia in a referendum.
“Duhhh…such a profound insight.”
Makes sense. It tackles the issue. You tell me that they are another country.
Lone Wolf, I am glad that you recognise the poster in question as a troll. i have been accusing him of this for awhile now as the intent behind the posts are transparent.
Lone Wolf and grr, I invite you guys again to the cafe. Nightvision, an erudite gentleman, who now became a legend to those of us who read him, shared your hardline views but then we got along. We joked a little. I think he even followed a couple of suggestions. You guys hit and run.
🇺🇦Ukraine’s creditworthiness has turned it into a colony.
From the moment of the coup in 2014 until the start of the special operation, Kiev received about $70.5 billion in subsidies, Maria Zakharova said.
Of these, more than $31 billion from international banks, $20.2 billion from the European Union and another $4.6 billion from the United States.
“With this money, it was possible to pour a new country in the Ukrainian waters of the Black Sea. But instead of sand and stones, money went to the bottom,” the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry writes.
After the start of the special operation, the West has already sent Ukraine more than $ 15 billion. Kiev is waiting for another $40 billion in the form of a “lend lease” from Washington.
Generations of Ukrainians will have to pay for all this “help”.

Ottawa, Ontario
The “Stand Up for Ukraine” global pledging event and campaign has raised 9.1 billion euros ($12.4 billion) for people fleeing the Russian invasion, inside Ukraine and abroad, including €1 billion from the European Commission.
On top of that, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has announced an additional €1 billion in loan to cover the needs of the people displaced by the invasion.
Out of these €10.1 billion in pledges and EBRD funding, €1.8 billion are for internally displaced persons and €8.3 billion for refugees in frontline EU Member States and countries, like Moldova.
The €9.1 billion pledge is broken down as follows:
€4.1 billion are financial contributions and in-kind donations for internally displaced people and refugees pledged by governments, companies and individuals around the world.
€5 billion are loans and grants from European public financial institutions (the European Investment Bank, and the Council of Europe Development Bank).
as at May 22
Since the Russian aggression started, the EU has significantly stepped up its support, mobilising around €4.1 billion to support Ukraine’s overall economic, social and financial resilience in the form of macro-financial assistance, budget support, emergency assistance, crisis response and humanitarian aid. Military assistance measures have also been provided under the European Peace Facility, amounting to €1.5 billion, that will be used to reimburse Member States for their in-kind military support to Ukraine and the mobilisation of an additional €500 million is under way.
The war resulted in a collapse of tax, export and other revenues, compounded by large scale illegal appropriation of assets and export goods including in the agricultural sector, while essential expenditure skyrocketed. The International Monetary Fund has estimated Ukraine’s balance of payments gap until June at roughly €14.3 billion ($15 billion).
Addressing Ukraine’s significant short-term financial support to sustain basic services, address humanitarian needs and fix the most essential destroyed infrastructure will require a joint international effort, in which the Union will be ready to play its part.
The Commission therefore envisages to propose granting Ukraine in 2022 additional macro-financial assistance in the form of loans of up to €9 billion, to be complemented by support from other bilateral and multilateral international partners, including the G7. This would be paid in tranches with long maturities and concessional interest rates thanks to the guarantee from the Union budget. To make this possible, Member States should agree on making available additional guarantees. Together with grant support from the EU budget for subsidising the related interest payments, this will ensure well-coordinated and highly concessionary support to Ukraine.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says the Group of Seven (G7) nations have made funding pledges exceeding the $15 billion that Kyiv has estimated it needs over the next three months to make up for the loss of revenue caused by the war with Russia.
Yellen told reporters that the funding pledges came during the first day of a two-day meeting of G7 finance minister
The West makes Ukr pay for its war while tightening the noose around the neck of the chicken.
Beware the money lenders.
Fortunately, Ukr will no longer exist soon so it can get out of debt that way though no doubt West will argue Russia must pay pro rata debt for land it occupies. They never forget the shilling.
There is frustratin from people that Russia has not stopped attacks on civilians and taken more territory. People say that front line is not moving.
Firstly, I don’t think people quite grasp the size of the Ukr army. You are looking at circa 60-100,000 troos plus NATO special forces in Donbass. Do people understand how long it takes to kill or overpower such a high number of trained hardened military?
Even if 10,000 surrender. There are still over 50-90,000 Ukri troops in Donbass. Plus NATO special forces.
Also it ignores all the attacks the allied forces have stopped. How many people have been saved. Russia has to create the right conditions to move forward and get proper intelligence about what is ahead because if they get it wrong more civilians will die. Right now the are not getting it wrong.
You cannot just trott in like Clint Eastwood and shoot 100,000 soldiers. This is the most brutal and difficult battle since WWII. This is not America beating defenceless people.
Also it is not accurate that the front line is not moving. It’s constantly moving. Think of it as a wall. You have to chip away that wall before you can get through.
There is constant movement constant chipping by Russia. At some point the wall will fall. You need to look at where bricks are being taken out.
Russia has air superiority but NOT air supremacy. Those are two different things.
Russia is also fighting in Syria and has to prepare for multiple situations.
Given that there needs to be some understanding as to why they are not walking over Ukri. War is hard! Defeating even a small fast moving guerilla group is hard. No police force can catch all criminals. Short of genocide no army can intercept all enemy attacks. The bulk probably are being stopped.
A better way to look at this is how much of the Ukr wall has been chipped. My best estimation 40%. The wall will probably collapse around the 50% mark.

🇺🇦🇬🇧The Russian military occupied the village of Vrubovka in the vicinity of Severodonetsk.
This was reported by the republican military NM of the LPR from the line of contact.
🔹The loss of Vrubovka poses a threat of encirclement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the villages of Gorskoye and Zolote.
🔹The enemy loses the ability to use to supply these fortified areas.
🔹At the same time, advancement continues in Severodonetsk, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already asking for corridors from the Azot industrial zone.
The prospects for the Ukrainian army in Severodonetsk and Lysychansk are not very encouraging.

From Abu Dhabi, Israel secretly evacuated 21 soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Sources say that these soldiers made a difficult journey from Mariupol, where they were captured after the surrender of Azovstal.
At the end of all checks, after a filtering procedure that showed that the Israeli army soldiers were not involved in armed resistance or in the killings of Russian Armed Forces or DPR militia members, at the request of the Israeli government, it was decided to send them back to their country of origin.
In return, Prime Minister Naftali Benet pledged to minimize military-technical cooperation with Ukraine.
In addition, we should expect an accelerated transfer to the Russian Federation of the right of perpetual and unconditional use of the Alexander Metochion in Jerusalem (which belonged to the Russian Empire until 1917).
It is reported that officers and non-commissioned officers of the IDF participated in training on the use of drones for aerial reconnaissance in Mariupol, the use of Starlink satellite systems, as well as sabotage operations in the city, but did not participate in combat operations (according to the Israeli side).
News is starting to leak out. We are waiting for the continuation. Behind-the-scenes negotiations. We will wait for the continuation!

A bear hug for the great news.
I use to walk every day by that church, close to the Holy Sepulcher, on my way to, or coming back from Al Aqsa mosque. I have many pictures of that beautiful classic style building, never knew its condition vis-a-vis the Israelis.
Keep on trucking, bro. Need more news directly from the Mother.

Military expert Boris Rozhin with a brief summary of the results of the operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine as of 00.10 June 15, 2022, specially for the Voenkor Kotenok Z @voenkorKotenok channel :
1.
Severodonetsk.
The enemy in the industrial zone of the Azot plant is partially isolated from the main forces in Lisichansk. The estimated size of the group reaches 2500 people + an unspecified number of vehicles. Normal supply of the group is impossible. Because of this, just like at Azovstal, there was talk of “humanitarian corridors”.
Fights for settlements on the eastern outskirts of Severodonetsk. The enemy recognizes very heavy losses in the battles for Severodonetsk.
2.
Slavyansk.
Battles at Bogorodichny. The Armed Forces of Ukraine recognize the loss of half of the village, our sources say that Bogorodichny has been liberated. In fact, it is still in the contested area.
Our troops broke into the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Valley and started fighting already on the territory of the village.
Fighting in the Tatyanovka area and in the direction of Sidorovo.
Seversky Donetsk in the direction of Raygorodok or Seversk is not yet forced.
3.
Kharkov.
Fighting in the area of Upper Saltov, Ternovoye and Rubezhnoy.
Fighting south of Cossack Lopan in the Velikiye Prohody and Tsupovka area. The Zolochevsky fortified area and the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Saltovka and Chuguev are subjected to active strikes by the RF Armed Forces.
Attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to tighten the flank of the Izyum grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not have significant success.
4.
Avdiivka.
Fights at Krasnogorovka and New York, but without serious progress. The enemy continued shelling the Donetsk-Gorlovka agglomeration.
5.
Artemovsk .
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation repulsed all attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to return the village of Roty under control and, in turn, advanced in the direction of the village of Vershina and Semigorye. The position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is defending the Uglegorsk TPP and Novoluganskoye, has become significantly more complicated, since the supply roads are under the fire control of the RF Armed Forces. To the north, fighting continued at Mednaya Ore and Pokrovsky.
6.
Soledar.
The RF Armed Forces entrenched themselves on the outskirts of Belogorovka and Berestovoye. The Artemovsk-Lysichansk highway is actually cut off, it is practically impossible to use it to supply the Severodonetsk grouping. The significance of the Artemovsk-Seversk-Lysichansk road has increased many times over, and holding Seversk is now vital for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to be able to retreat from the Lisichansk-Severodonetsk agglomeration.
7.
Golden .
The cleansing of Kamyshevakhi has been completed, fighting is underway on the outskirts of Zolote.
Battles near Toshkovka and Ustinovka.
In the evening, messages came about the capture of the village of Vrubovka. If the information is confirmed, then this brings the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation very close to solving the problem of encircling the Gorsko-Zolotoy group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
8.
Raisins.
Battles at Bolshaya Kamyshevakha and Kurulka. The enemy is trying to probe the defenses of the RF Armed Forces in the Balakleya area, but pressure on the flank of the Izyum grouping is still limited here.
9.
Zaporozhye.
On the line Kamenskoye-Orekhov-Gulyaipole-Velikaya Novoseloka-Ugledar-Novomikhaylovka-Maryinka without significant changes. Positional battles and artillery shelling in separate directions.
10.
Nikolaev.
Positional battles in the Nikolaev and Kherson directions. The enemy made a number of attacks, but had no success.
The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is trying to resume the offensive and achieve at least some success within the framework of the tasks set by the political leadership to achieve advancement in the direction of Kherson.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, meanwhile, are accumulating forces in the Nikolaevsky direction.

Reasons why Donetsk continues to be hit by Ukrainian artillery:
– Mobile artillery devices move immediately after firing, making it difficult to locate them and immediately retaliate.
– Often Ukrainian artillery is positioned amidst housing estates, schools, hospitals, and toxic chemical stores, making counterattack impossible.
– Much of the attacks come from Ukrainian artillery positioned in Avdiivka, just 15km from Donetsk.
Avdiivka has become a fortified position occupied by neo-Nazis, and there is a chemical industry in the town which lends itself to terrorist sabotage.
How is it possible for a Ukrainian neo-Nazi fortified position to exist so close to Donetsk?
Since the 2014 coup d’état, the people of Donbass have organized themselves into armed militias to fight for their sovereignty in the face of the pro-US/NATO Kiev government .
Teachers, drivers, electricians, mechanics, and all kinds of workers became soldiers, and were able to impose decisive defeats on the Ukrainian army.
However, before Mariupol was liberated (which was about to happen) and a security perimeter around the capital Donetsk was established, the diplomatic route prevailed with support from Moscow.
The Minsk Accords were signed in 2015, but have never been strictly adhered to. Donetsk continues to be bombed to this day.
It is a long and winding road, with many comings and goings, full of bumps and stumbles. However, there is no other option but to follow it with determination.
