I always hate asking for money, but when it is for somebody else, then I feel no such compunction or need to apologize for it. So I will be as blunt as I can: SouthFront needs money *NOW*.
It is easy to forget that they are the ones producing the excellent daily videos with news, analysis, conflict reports and special maps and infographics which they kindly share with us, the Saker Community. Also, and that is no less important, what they report we don’t have to report and that is only possible because what they produce is as good as, or better, as anything we can do. In my personal opinion, SouthFront reports are every bit as good, or better, than the best reports in the rest of the media or blogosphere. And I can also attest that in my personal contacts with them, they have always been extremely friendly, always willing to collaborate and totally supportive.
In other words – SouthFront are just about the best friends we all have.
The problem is that they are hurting financially. At the bottom of this post, I will report their own video and explanation about that. Make sure to check it out.
But here is what I want to ask of you all:
For one month, say between December 15th and January 15th, I ask all of you who donate to my blog to redirect your help to SouthFront and to donate the same amount directly to them. I can do one month without donations, really, whereas they probably cannot. As far as I am personally concerned, helping them is also helping me, especially since I post so much of what they produce on a daily basis.
Also, we are approaching the Nativity Season (“Christmas” in the West) and, well, this is the “perfect time for giving”, is it not? Yet another good reason to send a little something to SouthFront.

They pretty much offer every conceivable donation method so there is no excuse. One thing I do ask you though: please do NOT send me money for SouthFront. Doing that kind of “money forwarding” puts me in a tricky situation and I rather avoid this. I did it a couple of times in the past, but reluctantly. Use one of the many methods they suggest on their donation page, okay?
So, please, do it the “Nike way” – just do it! Send them whatever you can and show them how much we all appreciate their truly excellent work!

SouthFront: Analysis & Intelligence is pushed to decrease video production. We are struggling to change this, but its clear that there will be no more full video production at least 1 week.
Since the projects start, we were able to produce so much exclusive content only due to your support. Thank you for this!
The other side of the story is that the donations received were never enough to keep the project alive with such number of original content that you’ve seen.
The SouthFront video team is “drowning” in bills and can’t make ends meet because producing videos for the project is a hard daily work which doesn’t allow to concentrate on other projects or another job successfully.
We will make every possible effort to continue to produce exclusive and high quality videos covering the crucial developments over the world.
However, we dont have resources to maintain full scale video production by now. Thus, we have to significantly decrease production for at least 1 week to find resources and restore our capabilities.

Your two questions brought to mind 2 others questions: Who are their “partners”? Who are their partners affiliated with? I remember that the USSR had many Western friends in the 1980s. Very friendly friends, that happily helped things along.

I don’t know. And it does not matter one bit. Because they could TELL me that they are a Sunday school in Russia and be Chinese military. At the age of the Internet, what matters is not WHO is WHO, but WHO does WHAT, if only because anybody can impersonate anything. At least SouthFront do not pretend like they are anything. They just ARE. You judge a tree by its fruits, to quote Christ. I don’t know who they are, nor do I care were they are, all I care is what they give me (us). That is what I judge them on.

I one was in contact with SF because I wanted to help a bit (but I’m not enough of a brilliant political analyst let alone writer, so I dropped out before I actually started).
But the point is: They appear to be some honest enthusiasts who do this during their spare time and who even pay the bandwidth/hosting bills from their private money.
What else do you need to know? Their shoe size? Or private addresses?

We are a volunteer project grown from a Facebook page(!) about the conflict in Donbass. The page doesn’t exist now because it has been deleted by Facebook (as many other our pages and Youtube channels). It’s the reason why we launched a website last summer. Our story is a story about ordinary people developing an independent project.

No, we aren’t “in Russia”. We don’t have an office or something of this kind. Our team consists of people from the four corners of the Earth: Russia, the US, Australia, Germany, Serbia and other countries.

Have to agree with Saker, SouthFront are great. Haven’t heard much from the sarcastic/humorous slavic commentator on Ukrainian events recently. That’s perhaps not a bad thing.
I live in UK and recently cancelled our TV license, so now SouthFront can have the money instead. I would like to encourage my fellow citizens to also stop supporting awful BBC propaganda and do the same. Honestly, I feel liberated, and when I’m shouting at John Humphries in the morning its a comfort to know I’m not contributing to his salary…
You are lucky that you can cancel your TV license in the UK. Ever since January 1, 2013, the TV fee in Germany is mandatory for every living unit–whether you have a TV/radio or not. 17.50 Euros per month. AND businesses have to pay, too, by number of employees. Even self-employed people pay.
The German public stations receive over 8,000,000,000 Euros per year to finance their rancid, rabid anti-Russian, anti-Putin lies and propaganda.
In addition Deutsche-Welle is directly financed by the government to the tune of 272,000,000 Euros to broadcast the hate in 30 languages.

What I say is: It would be a good idea to finish WW2 before starting WW3.
Whatever – to get rid of GEZ, your best (or only) option is the path outlined in this and their later follow-up videos.
Old territories must return to Germany. Lawful borders of 1913 must be restored, which in the case of Germany means everything minus annexed Alsace and a part of Lorraine, and for Russia everything minus Grand Duchy of Finland (linked through now non-existent dynastic bond). German speakers expelled from what became Poland and, also Hungarians, from Czechoslovakia, must be compensated (from the EU funds or whatever) and their property returned through proper restitution process. .
No one out of 80 + water million population of what is now the Federal Republic of Germany ever thought of suing the Reich’s TV extortionists first in the local courts and then up and up to the European Court of Human Rights? This TV racket plagues most continental states, the old lands of the old Reich, including the Czech Republic, it’s very hard to avoid but it must be illegal, no way it can be legal, if you must pay for propaganda (and I believe you must not), then you should at least be able to choose for what sort of propaganda you are willing to pay.

Sorry, I do not understand how to donate. I have a VISA-card but not PayPal.
I suggest that You have a system so I can use my VISA directly and You receive my cardnumber info in a crypted form. Anyhow I need a better explanation because I do not completely understand the english information. I will not use PayPal. I have had it and it was so complicated.
I wanted to send You money some months ago, but I could not fint out how to do. You need a better system for us living in nonspeaking english countries. I live in Europe.

You have to improve and make it easier to donate. All around the world there can be people wanting tog donate but lack the skills in english. This is also a message for Saker.
I myself have a long complicated university exam but at school I mostly studied the french and the german languages. Those were the first foreign languages I had to learn at school post ww2 in my country. Ridiculous! Later english became the first foreign language to learn.
Anyhow I can read most that is written on this website, very interesting articles and comments, but I can not ask or explain myself in a complicated way in english. That is sad.

It is the same with my open-src UNIX programming project!
The entire world expects me (or in this case SF) to work 100’s and 1000’s and 100’s of 1000’s of hours FOR FREE. They expect me (or in this case SF) to pay all hosting, badwidth, hardware and testing-hardware bills.
Some person may have “donated” 10 $ and then feels like the main sponsore of the entire project. And mentions every time in years that he has donated (while not mentioning how “much”).
But if you ever dare to ask for some so called “donations”, some folks (who never ever found the time or will to contribute in any single way) will suddenly pop up and suddenly even find time: To rant against you.
What a sad place this planet is.

Can someone inform the folks at Southfront that when I try to click on the “donate USD” option, I get a paypal screen in Russian? I’m working on figuring it out, but I’m sure this detail might keep some donations from coming in.
Southfront provides excellent quality videos which puts most traditional war reporting to shame. I thank them with the fullness of my heart for their sincere efforts, as I do everyone who works to expose and peacefully (or by strict practice of self-defense) foil the Empire’s efforts toward continued global hegemony.

I also got the Paypal in Russian screen – which is not a problem for me as I understand Russian. However – for those of you that can’t read Russian, you can do the following: click on the Southfront donate button, the page which comes up, even if it is in Russian, is built identically to the English language one, click on eg the Saker’s donate button which comes up in English and compare the two pages. I assure you that the Russian text is saying the same thing that the English text is saying. After I entered the relevant data (donation amount, email and password) the next page was in German (correct language for me) but even if it isn’t you should be ok – what you are seeing is confirmation of the amount, confirmation of your name and address and the button you need to click to activate the payment. As I have a Paypal account, I didn’t click the button to continue to a payment with a credit card, but perhaps that would also be in your local language? It’s worth trying out.

Hello Liz, if you click on the donate button on the Southfront website and scroll down to the bottom of the list of options, you will see Tinypass with various quantities that you can arrange to pay monthly. Wouldn’t that do just as well as Patreon? I started doing that some months back.
