Following the November 13th vocalists of the Zaporozhye musical College of Mayboroda performance the hit song from beloved by millions classic film “Spring on Zarechnaya street”
The Soviet song flash mob went on this time on the opposite part of the country in Kharkov with a performance of the song Old maple [ Stariy Klion (Старый клен) ]
No matter how intensely and mercilessly people living in the occupied by the West Ukraine are being brainwashed, they know that their culture is Russian culture, and the Soviet Union songs unite us all.
Old maple [ Stariy Klion (Старый клен) ]
Russian
Stariy Klion (Старый клен)
English translation
Old maple
Old maple, old maple
knocks into my window
Calling me and my friends to take a walk.
Only why, only why?
Why do I feel so light and bright?
It’s because you are walking down my street
Snowstorm, snowstorm
ended not so long ago.
Seems that spring came back to visit us in instant.
Only why, only why
Do I feel myself so good?
It’s because you looked and smiled at me from distance
Take a look, take a look
Take a look and see the sky
that shines cloudless and pure over there.
Only why, only why
Only why does accordion sing?
Because someone is in love with its player
Beautiful . . .
God Bless.
Yeah . Thanks God !
There was also just another fleshmob in Zaporoshiye train station .
Great acoustics in that train station!! I wonder if that influenced their choice of this venue. Beautiful performance.
I’m not so sure I’d call Kharkov the opposite part of Ukraine. Its in the Southeast (Novorossia) just like Zaporozhye is. But regardless of that, the Ukrainian junta’s “Minister of Culture” is sure he Knows” why Zaporozhye,Donbass, and now I suppose Kharkov as well, resists “Ukrainian culture” (read fascist ultra-nationalism). Its because as he says the people there are “genetically unfit for national culture”.I recall a fellow in Germany years ago used to think that same way about those that opposed him too. That didn’t work out too well as I remember.Mainly because people waited “too late” to stop him.

Saker, thank you for these flash mob posts. The soul of these people is still very much present even as they endure the rigors of empirical occupation and oligarchy. Also, for one of my background, it is lovely to hear these voices and songs which are very rich.
It is like the old movies from the Soviet times I have seen whilst being in Ukraine and Russia and how I enjoyed watching them even though I am not advanced in the language. Their themes and stories were very humane even their movies of the Great War, which painted the Germans in a much more human way than the same films from Anglo sources.
Despite the culturally vapid Nazi minority, the every day people are steeped in a rich cultural heritage from the Russe Mir and they seem to not have lost that.
Something that breaks the divide between brotherly nations.
Over the years since the coup in Ukraine I’ve done a couple of posts trying to explain the differences between the Ukrainian ultra-nationalists and the Ukrainian fascist (neo-nazi) elements that ally with it. But not being a talented writer, though understanding the history,I’m not able to put it in words very well. But now comes an article by a Russian/Ukrainian scholar who makes up for my shortcomings, and is able to explain it very well. He wrote about the subject first in 2010, warning of it before maidan. And has now updated his analysis,post-maidan.Its an important article for those wanting to understand the thinking of the Ukrainian fascists of today:
” The Death of Ukrainian Nationalism and the Birth of Neo-Nazism”

I love flash mobs and this was beautiful. Thank you.
Looks like not everything is lost. Majority cannot be lied to forever.
