The Syrian Arab Army, the Tiger Forces and their allies have advanced on positions of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) and other militant groups in the areas of Harasta, Hawsh Ashari, Bayt Siwwa in the Eastern Ghouta region. Government forces have also entered the area of Rayhan, but have not been able to secure it yet.
Meanwhile, the US-led block, the mainstream media and pro-militant sources are developing their propaganda campaign in an attempt to save militants operating in Eastern Ghouta from defeat accusing government forces of civilian casualties and chemical attacks.
On March 5, the Pentagon announced that Turkey’s Operation Olive Branch against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in the area of Afrin had led to an “operational pause” in US-led efforts against ISIS in eastern Syria.
Pentagon spokesman Colonel Robert Manning added that the operational pause had not affected US strikes on ISIS and the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces still control territory it had seized.
Another Pentagon spokesman, Major Adrian Rankine-Galloway, said that “Some fighters operating within the SDF have decided to leave operations in the middle Euphrates river valley to fight elsewhere, possibly in Afrin.”
Thus, Washington at least admitted that the YPG was the main if not only ground striking force of the SDF. Various US officials had repeatedly claimed that the SDF consisted of some mysterious Arab-dominated forces with some YPG presence.
On the other hand, the US will be able to justify their further military presence in eastern Syria with “we are fighting ISIS” mantra now as long as its operation is on “pause”.
On March 5 and March 6, the Turkish Armed Forces and the Free Syrian Army advanced further in Afrin and captured the villages of Qurayriyah, Qatirah, Karakih and entered the Sharan district center. Clashes are ongoing.
They get by with a little help from their friends:

5min ago – reports a swing to diplomacy at ground level: “‘Furthermore the civilians in Hamouriyah, Mesraba and Saqba are demonstrating on the streets in favor of the Syrian Government raising flags and demanding the retreat of al Qaeda and the other rats from their town, this is self preservation and property preservation speaking loud and the feeling that liberation is days away. The whole area inside the box below is under severe diplomatic talks, village elders and Sheiks are active to preserve their towns, this is the best indication the terrorists are in complete disarray. Expect news soon, once these villages are liberated, rats will be cut off and pushed to a very small area, impossible to defend much longer, this Aleppo 2.0 — all over.”
Latest Ghouta Update:
” 1)
Once the pocket is split in two, JIA in Douma will try its best to get away with their lives.
2)
The SW part of the pocket is where the hardcore al Qaeda groups are located, these are groups that without food, civilians to re assure them to stay they will be doomed, even in urban warfare, no resupply will mean, little motivation to sacrifice themselves to foreign causes.
3)
Many civilians are now revolting against the very terrorists, should this grow, the terrorists will lose local support and that is serious stuff for them, happened in Aleppo and the sequence of a fast derail for the terrorists, since civilians there know their hidings, weapon depots, food storage, HQs etc. and info will start to arrive to the Tiger Force’s storm troops and nasty stuff will happen to the terrorists.
This battle is approaching that moment in Aleppo between mid Nov-Mid Dec, we may start to hear a lot of talks between the terrorists and Syrian envoys for surrendering etc…then certain groups will take it others not, they will fight among them etc…
The momentum is good but the SAA forces need to split the pocket in two ASAP, that would speed their collapse, literally on the double.” (Canthama)
Can anyone answer the question why Eastern Ghouta ,which has been surrounded since 2013 has been able to resupply its Western backed Terrorists . Ask yourself the Question?
Because Assad allowed Western funded ‘charities’ to send convoys of aid into there, giving the jihadists food and medical equipment, goodness knows what weapons were hidden in those boxes.

Which tells you a lot about the “vile dictator” :) …

Because east Ghouta is part of the real world, not some illusion of it on a computer.
Speaking of “Pentagon spokesmen”, the news services here in Sweden are displaying a most impressive parade of anchors with Tourette’s tics: It’s the “regime” in Kremlin denying responsibility for the recent poisoning which took place in the UK; the “regime” in Pyongyang being visited by South Korea; the Chinese “regime” with it’s ‘authoritarian designs’, and then of course the Assad “regime” and its non-stop barbarities in Eastern Ghouta.
Wonder if there is some kind of bonus salary model at work, primarily based upon slandering independent governments as “regimes”. Silly beyond laughable.

White Helmets Media Studio Producing “Evidence of Assad Regime War Crimes”
A pro-government media activist, Penelope Stafyla, has released a series of photos reportedly showing a media studio of the White Helmets, which produces “evidence of Assad regime war crimes” in the Eastern Ghouta region, near the Syrian capital of Damascus.
These photos are especially interesting amid circulating reports about a new “chemical attack” by the “Assad regime” in Eastern Ghouta. The new “chemical attack” narrative came amid large gains by government forces against militants groups in the area and allegedly injured over 30 people.

Russian Transport Plane Crashes in Syria, All Onboard Killed

What we know so far about deadly Russian plane crash in Syria
https://sputniknews.com/world/201803071062295024-russia-syria-an-26-crash/
Another Russian plane crashed in Syria, 39 victims, no doubt the Anglo manpads up to their tricks again. Also claim of a chemical attack in Ghouta, claim of poisoning a spy in England, russia threatens to cut European gas supply etc Almost every news article on Anglo media has some Russian element in it now. This proves the Anglo have lost to Russia. They will use any methods now that they are losing everywhere geopolitically and their societies collapse from within during this deep postmodern phase. Years ago Anglo were saying about sending russians home in body bags from Syria and thats what they are doing. The Jihadists and Ukranian fascists wil be give the lastest weapons by the Anglo to attack Russia. Especially just before the election. Putin should never have agreed the ceasfire in Ghouta.
The Afrin canton is half gone already. Writes Canthama:
“ As time goes by, the Afrin leaders must be wondering what they have done, there are 3 large cities in Afrin, one is gone, another one about to go and Afrin city is 7 kms from the front line. Good decision not to embrace the mother land of Syria? Afrin may be gone for decades.”
“Without air support, the forces in Afrin will continue to lose ground. The only way to stop this massacre is to rejoin Syria entirely. Time is running out.”

The plane crashed on the final approaches to Russia’s base in Latakia — huge loss of human capital for the Russian military as it appears majority were experienced pilots
https://russia-insider.com/en/huge-blow-russia-transport-plane-crashes-syria-all-39-onboard-dead-possibly-20-were-experienced
Unfortunately these pilots will not be easy to replace if true
Why transport them in that old Aircraft with a long history of crashes as a know it. I could be wrong abot the crashing part.
