(TASS) General Viktor Poznikhir stated on Thursday that his American counterparts have not yet provided the Russian military with accurate data on the exact locations and number of “moderate opposition” in Syria, which hampers the fight against militants and jeopardizes the delivery of humanitarian aid.

“Whilst the faction in Washington – which surely includes Obama and Kerry – which wants “to save the lives of the Jihadi and preserve them as a coherent force by agreeing face-saving terms for their withdrawal” – is still there, the opponents within the Washington bureaucracy to this approach – whose fierce resistance held up the signing of the agreement on Sunday by 9 hours – are also still there. Moreover they have allies on the ground in Syria in the form of the Jihadi fighters in eastern Aleppo and across Syria, who are also nowhere near close to giving up or dissociating themselves from Jabhat Al-Nusra, as the US – Russian agreement requires them to do.
The prospects of this agreement therefore depend on the bureaucratic infighting underway in Washington. Whether Obama, Kerry and the other foreign policy realists in Washington in the last weeks of Obama’s administration are able or willing to face down the hardliners in order to make this agreement work is open to doubt. However if they don’t then the agreement will unravel – just as did the previous agreement reached in February – at which point the fighting will resume with a vengeance.” http://theduran.com/lavrov-kerry-deal-syria-already-trouble/

WASHINGTON, September 16. /TASS/. The regime of cessation of hostilities in Syria is violated by forces of the opposition, which is supported by the United States, as well, US State Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner said at a daily press briefing.

Russia, Syria stop bombing areas of possible location of opposition units
“We continue to receive reports of incidents from both sides. And by both sides I mean both sides – that includes the regime,” Toner said.
“And obviously, both we and – both the United States and Russia have to do all we can do to further pressure or influence the respective parties to this cessation of hostility to reduce these incidents,” he said.
“But we still believe that, by and large, the cessation of hostilities is holding, it’s not perfect. We expected a somewhat uneven start to this, but from what we’ve seen so far, and what I said yesterday is it’s worth continuing,” Toner said.
According to a report voiced earlier by Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov, US-controlled opposition intensifies shelling of residential quarters in Syria, while the regime of cessation of hostilities is only observed by the army.

MOSCOW, September 15 /TASS/. Russian and Syrian warplanes have stopped bombing areas of possible location of opposition units, Lieutenant General Viktor Poznikhir, the first deputy head of the main operations department of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, said on Thursday.
“The Syrian government forces have ceased the fire and have started withdrawing tanks, infantry combat vehicles and artillery guns to the agreed distances thus creating conditions for setting up a demilitarized zone. The Russian and Syrian Aerospace Forces have stopped delivering air strikes in areas of possible location of opposition units,” General Poznikhir said.
He also emphasized that Russia was fully compliant with its commitments on the Syrian truce. “A checkpoint on Castello Road has been equipped and handed over to the Red Crescent Society. It is protected by the Bustan and Shield militia units,” Poznikhir explained.
US fails to provide data on moderate opposition
The general stressed that the American side has not yet provided the Russian military with accurate data on the exact locations and number of “moderate opposition” in Syria, which hampers the fight against militants and jeopardizes the delivery of humanitarian aid.
“The American partners have not yet provided us with accurate information on the exact locations of opposition units. The materials handed over by the American side contain only a general list of units controlled by them. They mention neither the districts where these units are operating nor numbers or field commanders’ names,” Poznikhir noted.

According to the general, this approach by the American side “not only hampers the fight against Jabhat al-Nusra irreconcilable militants, but also jeopardizes the delivery of humanitarian aid.”
“We are calling on the U.S. side to step up efforts to observe the regime of cessation of hostilities in Syria,” Poznikhir told a briefing at the Russian National Defense Control Center.
“Russia systematically implements its commitments taken on under the Russian-U.S. agreement,” Poznikhir emphasized.
The Russian center for reconciliation has held negotiations with US partners in Washington and Geneva, marking a need for the US side to comply with its commitments within the framework of the Russian-US agreements, the head of the Russian center, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Savchenko said.
“At 8 pm yesterday, I conducted negotiations with our American colleagues in Geneva and Washington via the restored direct communications channel,” the general said. “During the negotiations I drew attention to a need for an early implementation by the US side of commitments on separating the moderate opposition from Jabhat al-Nusra (the terrorist organization outlawed in Russia) and abidance by the ceasefire regime by US controlled militant units,” Savchenko said in a video conference with the Russian National Defense Center.
Besides, the US side received data on all violations of the ceasefire fixed by the Russian side, with location, time, the weapons used and areas from which the fire came, specified.

It is very sad and concerned that, despite the positive and constructive, which was made in Geneva, just a week ago, we hear statements by an entirely different sense, “- she said.

Some Guardian readers or those on the NDP mailing list are probably among the diminishing number of true believers who still believe their propaganda nonsense. http://russia-insider.com/en/russia-says-us-failing-deliver-syria-ceasefire-deal-wants-details-declassified/ri16479Russia says the US is not keeping its end of the bargain on the Syrian ceasefire and has continued its calls for Washington to make public all documents relating to the deal. The Russian military says Damascus is the only party observing the agreement.
“On the third day of the ceasefire only the Syrian Army is observing it. Meanwhile, the US-led ‘moderate rebels’ are intensifying the shelling of residential areas,” Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday.
The ministry said in a press briefing that “new conflict flashpoints are appearing” and that government forces and civilians had been shot at 45 times over the past 24 hours, without firing back.
The military added that the US failed to deliver on its promise to separate truce-observing moderates and truce-violating terrorists and is now “apparently trying to use a smoke-screen to cover up the violations of their part of the deal.”
The ministry called on the Pentagon to hand over up-to-date and detailed information about the location of the various factions in the conflict.
“Demarcating the areas belonging to Islamic State, Al-Nusra Front, and moderate opposition forces is a priority,” said senior Russian General Staff official Viktor Poznikhir in Moscow.
“So far, all we have received from the Pentagon is a list of units under their protection. It does not specify the locations, the number of fighters, or the field commanders of those battalions.”
Earlier the US said that both Damascus and the rebels were reported as violating the ceasefire, which began on Monday. Washington acknowledges its responsibility to stop violations committed by the anti-government forces.
“We’ve always been clear, just as we have said that Russia’s responsibility is to exert influence or put pressure – however you want to put it – on the regime to abide by the cessation of hostilities, it is incumbent on us to persuade, convince the moderate opposition to also abide by the cessation of hostilities, and ultimately, that’s a decision they’re going to have to make,” US State Department spokesman Mark Toner said Wednesday.
“We’re continuing our outreach to the Syrian moderate opposition – that’s been ongoing – and trying to explain the arrangement to them, answer their questions. And again, we’ve seen, as I said, sporadic reports of violence, but in large part we think [the ceasefire] is holding,” he added.
Amid the mounting differences of opinion between the US and Russia over the truce, Moscow reiterated its call to declassify the entire deal negotiated in Geneva last week. The US insisted that the documents were classified, which Russia initially agreed to, saying it would help protect the agreement from potential derailment.
But after several officials in the US voiced doubt about Russia’s sincerity in keeping to the deal, Moscow said it would seek to make the agreement public so that people could see for themselves what the deal was about. Declassifying all relevant documents and endorsing them in a UN Security Council resolution would prevent speculation about the responsibilities of the parties involved, Russia believes.
“We know well how often documents get leaked to the media, and not by Russia but by our American colleagues,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Thursday. “Moscow suggests publishing [the documents] to avoid any erroneous interpretations, prevent an impact of such leaks on any party involved in the conflict or manipulation attempts by parties not familiar with details of the deal.”
Russia is not the only nation to take this stance. France said on Thursday it wants to see the exact wording of the deal.
‘PEOPLE’ (AL NUSRA SUPPORTERS) IN EASTERN ALEPPO DEMONSTRATE AGAINST UN AID (VIDEO)
A pro-militant media outlet, On The Ground News, released a video of “people” in the militant-controlled part of Aleppo city that demonstrated against the UN huamnitarian aid to local population. A very interesting fact is that the demonstrators are with flags used by the Al Nusra Front (Jabhat Al Nusra or Jabhat Fatah Al Sham) terrorist group.
Furthermore, an ‘activist’ at the video says that they are against the ceasefire deal because they are not part of it. We recall only ISIS and Al Nusra Front have been excluded from the ceasefire. So, now it’s clear that there are only ‘moderate terrorists’ in eastern Aleppo.
So, the plan is:
Call for humanitarian aid while the Syrian army is advancing
Reject humanitarian aid while there is a ceasefire
Blame the Syrian government for forcing people to starve in Aleppo

Terror Agency CIA Since 1949 Trying To Control Syria And Now Wanting To Liquidate Bashar Assad
on: September 16, 2016
“Secret cables and reports by the U.S., Saudi and Israeli intelligence agencies indicate that the moment Assad rejected the Qatari pipeline, military and intelligence planners quickly arrived at the consensus that fomenting a Sunni uprising in Syria to overthrow the uncooperative Bashar Assad was a feasible path to achieving the shared objective of completing the Qatar/Turkey gas link. In 2009, according to WikiLeaks, soon after Bashar Assad rejected the Qatar pipeline, the CIA began funding opposition groups in Syria.”
“The $10 billion, 1,500km pipeline through Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria and Turkey….would have linked Qatar directly to European energy markets via distribution terminals in Turkey… The Qatar/Turkey pipeline would have given the Sunni Kingdoms of the Persian Gulf decisive domination of world natural gas markets and strengthen Qatar, America’s closest ally in the Arab world. ….
In 2009, Assad announced that he would refuse to sign the agreement to allow the pipeline to run through Syria “to protect the interests of our Russian ally….
Assad further enraged the Gulf’s Sunni monarchs by endorsing a Russian approved “Islamic pipeline” running from Iran’s side of the gas field through Syria and to the ports of Lebanon. The Islamic pipeline would make Shia Iran instead of Sunni Qatar, the principal supplier to the European energy market and dramatically increase Tehran’s influence in the Mid-East and the world…”
“Secret cables and reports by the U.S., Saudi and Israeli intelligence agencies indicate that the moment Assad rejected the Qatari pipeline, military and intelligence planners quickly arrived at the consensus that fomenting a Sunni uprising in Syria to overthrow the uncooperative Bashar Assad was a feasible path to achieving the shared objective of completing the Qatar/Turkey gas link. In 2009, according to WikiLeaks, soon after Bashar Assad rejected the Qatar pipeline, the CIA began funding opposition groups in Syria.
“During the 1950′s, President Eisenhower and the Dulles brothers … mounted a clandestine war against Arab Nationalism — which CIA Director Allan Dulles equated with communism — particularly when Arab self-rule threatened oil concessions. They pumped secret American military aid to tyrants in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon favoring puppets with conservative Jihadist ideologies which they regarded as a reliable antidote to Soviet Marxism….
The CIA began its active meddling in Syria in 1949 — barely a year after the agency’s creation…. Syria’s democratically elected president, Shukri-al-Kuwaiti, hesitated to approve the Trans Arabian Pipeline, an American project intended to connect the oil fields of Saudi Arabia to the ports of Lebanon via Syria. (so)… the CIA engineered a coup, replacing al-Kuwaiti with the CIA’s handpicked dictator, a convicted swindler named Husni al-Za’im. Al-Za’im barely had time to dissolve parliament and approve the American pipeline before his countrymen deposed him, 14 weeks into his regime…..
(CIA agent Rocky) Stone arrived in Damascus in April 1956 with $3 million in Syrian pounds to arm and incite Islamic militants and to bribe Syrian military officers and politicians to overthrow al-Kuwaiti’s democratically elected secularist regime….
But all that CIA money failed to corrupt the Syrian military officers. The soldiers reported the CIA’s bribery attempts to the Ba’athist regime. In response, the Syrian army invaded the American Embassy taking Stone prisoner. Following harsh interrogation, Stone made a televised confession to his roles in the Iranian coup and the CIA’s aborted attempt to overthrow Syria’s legitimate government….(Then) Syria purged all politicians sympathetic to the U.S. and executed them for treason.” (Politico)
“We must recognize the Syrian conflict is a war over control of resources indistinguishable from the myriad clandestine and undeclared oil wars we have been fighting in the Mid-East for 65 years. And only when we see this conflict as a proxy war over a pipeline do events become comprehensible.” http://novorossia.today/139726-2/
German online newspaper Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten has provided its own analysis on the developments in Syria, noting that the severest clashes occur only in places of major pipelines or where new routes are planned to run; hence it says, the conflict is nothing more than a fight for the best positions to start oil and gas supplies to Europe.
The newspaper has attentively examined the Syrian war map and noticed that the military actions are going on only in places where major oil and gas routes are either already running or are planned to go.
“Two of the most important oil markets are located in the Syrian cities of Manbij and al-Bab, both cities are located in the Governorate of Aleppo,” the newspaper says.
“Through the territories of the two cities runs a major pipeline which transports oil from Iraq to Syria, up to Idlib Governorate,” it says.
The same pipeline runs through the territory of the city of Aleppo.
Whoever takes Manbij, takes under control of the oil transportation in Syria, it says.
The same is true for the Syria’s western cities of Aleppo, Idlib and al-Bab. In the east, the same pipeline runs through the cities of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor.
The oil flowing through the pipeline comes from the Iraqi city of Mosul through Sinjar on to Deir ez-Zor. Its second strand runs from the Iraqi city of al-Qaim to Deir ez-Zor, the outlet says.
So far in the Syria conflict, Turkey has had no access to the oil pipelines, it says. But by taking Manbij, Ankara will get access to the Syrian pipeline system.
“The current battle for Aleppo is viewed as the most decisive in the ongoing conflict: Aleppo is the last major city which the country’s main pipeline runs through,” it says.
“Whoever controls Aleppo, controls the ‘keys’ of the pipeline.”
The newspaper points out that the most intensive fighting between the warring parties is taking place at the key points of the pipeline, namely Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, Aleppo, Idlib, Manbij in Hasakah, al-Bukamal, Ayn Issa and al-Bab.
Fierce fighting is also going on in the cities of Homs and Hama. And previously the war was raging in Palmyra, the outlet notes. All the settlements are located alongside the planned pipeline route which is set to run from Qatar to Turkey.
The newspaper says that in its turn, Russia is supporting the construction of a gas pipeline that is set to run from Iran through Iraq and Syria, through the city of Homs. Therefore Moscow does not want Homs to fall into the hands of Islamist mercenaries.
The Syrian war map also shows that the US particularly concentrates its air strikes on the east of the country while Russian air strikes are mainly focused on its western areas.
The outlet therefore concludes that Russia wants to control western Syria in order to prevent the construction of pro-Western pipelines.
For the US, in its turn, it is important to prevent the construction of pro-Russian pipelines — such as the Iran-Iraq-Syria pipeline in the east.
Besides, there is another proposed pipeline which is supposed to connect Israeli Golan Heights with Turkey through Syrian Damascus.
On condition of the toppling of the Syrian government, Israel would have strengthened its positions as a rising gas supplier, however Russia does not want any competitors in this sector, the newspaper says.
It further refers to the reports of the Caucasus Strategic Research Centre (KAFKASSAM) in Ankara which suggest that the true purpose behind the attempt to set up the so-called “Kurdish corridor” was to transport Kurdish oil and gas from northern Iraq over northern Syria to the Mediterranean Sea.
The reports also suggest that the US had plans to build a new pipeline from the Persian Gulf to northern Iraq and further to Turkey through northern Syria.
Thus, it planned to supply Iraqi oil through Turkey and northern Syria further to the West, namely to the European energy market.
However the plan to set up the Kurdish corridor failed because Russia stepped into the Syrian conflict.
Russia is against this corridor because it wants to keep Europe as the major customer of its energy products.
Under no conditions will Russia give up its position on the European market, the newspaper finally states.
Syria Fighting an “Invasion by the Most Powerful Country in the World”
By Alex Christoforou
September 15, 2016 “Information Clearing House” – “Duran” – The truth about Syria and what is happening in Syria is all here, in the video below, outlined and documented during this press briefing by the US Peace Council (USPC).
We cannot be sure how long this video will be allowed to stay on Youtube, but we urge everyone to take 45:00 minutes of your time to see this video, share this video, and finally spread the word about the “vicious” war being waged on Syria.
Please share this post, and share this video, and share these excerpts, which may provide some life saving truth to an unjust, criminal war…and a western media narrative that continues to push lies and confusion to what is a clear and blatant international crime.
The Duran reported earlier today, as one of the few media organizations to expose this story…
A delegation from the US Peace Council (USPC) has recently returned to the US from a fact finding mission to Syria.
The members spent 6 days meeting with Syrian Government Officials including, President Assad, Union Leaders, Government Opposition Members as well as Civil & Business Leaders, NGO’s, Charities and Universities.
The delegation stated that each member paid their own way and that the Syrian Government allowed them to meet whomever they wanted.
They issued their report and held a press conference Press conference at the UN on 9th August 2016.
Madelyn Hoffman, Executive Director of New Jersey Peace Action, Member of the Syria Delegation at the 17:15:
“This is not a civil war in Syria. That’s probably the first thing we heard, and we heard it over and over again.
It is not President Assad against his own people. It is President Assad and the Syrian people, all together, in unity, against outside forces, outside mercenary forces, terror organisations, the names change everyday or every other day, to try to protect their identity, and maybe keep the connection between the country that funded it and that group, kind of a little bit more nebulous, but there are groups, mercenary forces, supported by Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United States, and underneath it, Israel, the state of Israel.
And these outside mercenary forces are the ones that are terrorising the Syrian people, and are attempting to divide the Syrian people.”
US Peace Council (USPC):

Alfred Marder, President of the US Peace Council
Mary Compton, Member of the Executive Board of the US Peace Council
Henry Lowendorf, Member of the Executive Board of the US Peace Council, Head of the Syria Delegation
Joe Jamison, Member of the Executive Board of the US Peace Council, Member of the Syria Delegation
Madelyn Hoffman, Executive Director of New Jersey Peace Action, Member of the Syria Delegation
Donna Nassor, Professor and Lawyer also part of US Peace Council
Henry Lowendorf, Member of the Executive Board of the US Peace Council, at the 12:30 mark:
“We saw villages, that are basically Christian villages, that have been besieged by the terrorists, but have now been liberated. And the damage done to a shrine in the village called Maaloula, which is a village where they still speak Aramaic, the language of Jesus. And the attacks on the Christian population.”
“Their two things I want to mention, finally, that we feel are really important…
One is…That while the United States would like to divide the Syrians up, by religion or within a religion — by the different beliefs within that religion. There wasn’t a Syrian we talked to who would accept that.
We spoke to the Grand Mufti, and he said, ‘People ask me how many Muslims there are in Syria?’ and his response is always 23 million. That’s is the population of Syria.
And when we talk to the bishop of one of the Orthodox Churches, he answered the same thing, the number of Christians is 23 million.
We will not allow ourselves to be divided up the way the United States has divided up the people of Iraq, or Libya, or Afghanistan, or so many other countries. We won’t allow that.
And that unity, I believe, has lead to the ability of the Syrians to withstand an invasion by the most powerful country in the world, and its most powerful allies in Europe, its most powerful allies in the Middle East, with what is a vicious attack on the Syrian people.
The second is the sanctions. I have to admit that I did not know (before I went) that the United States has imposed sanctions on Syria in a way that’s similar to the sanctions that the United States imposed on Iraq in the 1990s, in order to weaken that country and that government, that the United States admits killed 500,000 children in Iraq, during the 1990s sanctions.”
The Duran reported in a post entitled, “Why the Syrian conflict is not a civil war”…
Alfred Marder who, is the President of the USPC firstly acknowledged that the US peace and anti-war movement has been in a state of confusion about Syria and that this has caused division within the movement.
He explained that the domestic tactic used by the US government to sway US public opinion, is, to demonise the leader of whatever country the US is targeting.
“Whether it’s Noriega, Hussein, Gaddafi, or Assad, there’s a definite pattern here”
He said the story the US people have been told about President Assad and Syria have been purposefully false. Concerning the reporting he said
“This is not accidental. This is designed to confuse people’s opinions on these Leaders.”
Jamison was blunt in his assessment and likened this quote to the dangerous attitude of so many Americans who think they know about Syria and President Assad but “….what they think they know, just ain’t so!”
In his opinion the US motive is to destroy Syria as an independent secular Arab state and make it compliant to US interests and policies, like Iraq and Libya have become since the US invasions and bombings of these two countries.
Just like Libya before the NATO bombing, Syria has universal free healthcare and free education from childcare through to university.
Jamison pointed out that the US government supports Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups (whose names change often) who they claim to be ‘moderate rebels’ but who in truth are not moderate in any way and are affiliated either with Al-Qaeda or ISIS.
He mentioned the foreign backed mercenaries (ISIS) are fuelled by the Wahhabi doctrine which he described as
“a sick medieval and backward ideology driven by the Muslim Brotherhood with its genesis in Saudi Arabia.”
He affirmed his opinion by describing how so called ‘moderate’ Jabhat Al-Nusra mercenaries beheaded a 12 yr old boy during the time the delegation was in Syria. There is nothing ‘moderate’ about beheading a 12 year old boy.
The other major story they shared was the generally unreported sanctions that the US has imposed upon the Syrian people.
The US government claims the sanctions target the Syrian government. However they are actually aimed at wearing down the resolve of the Syrian people.
The US has imposed sanctions similar to the ones Iraq experienced before the invasion, which even the US admits killed half a million children.
Syrians cannot get baby formula, common medication, medication for chemotherapy, child immunisation etc.
These sanctions are so insidious that they affect medical clinics throughout Syria because they are unable to get parts for machines used in medical practice. Think: X-ray, CAT, MRI machines right down to dentists drills.
President Assad has claimed from the beginning that there was no uprising and that the country was being invaded by foreign backed mercenaries. Gaddafi said exactly the same thing when NATO started bombing Libya.
Coincidence? I think not.
The same scenario was acted out in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, and now Syria: invaded and bombed into submission without any politician, general or complicit media representative tried or held to account. There is not even an acceptance of error or a conciliatory voice of remorse.
“The campaign to confuse the American people has been intense.”
The US handed Russia data on the location of militant opposition groups operating in Syria for the first time, special representative of the Russian Defense Ministry Alexander Zorin told journalists on Friday.
Lyin’ Mark Toner, the clueless spokesman for one of al-Qaeda’s biggest sponsors, and one of the largest criminal rackets in the world, Hillary Clinton’s US State Department, couldn’t even figure out if the ceasefire applied to Islamic State … he “wasn’t sure”. And he predictably fails to address the fact that, according to Washington’s terms, Russia and Syria are not supposed to attack at least 21 other “moderate” terrorist gangs who rejected the ceasefire, even in self-defense.

However if they don’t then the agreement will unravel – just as did the previous agreement reached in February – at which point the fighting will resume with a vengeance.”

Besides, the US side received data on all violations of the ceasefire fixed by the Russian side, with location, time, the weapons used and areas from which the fire came, specified.

http://russia-insider.com/en/russia-says-us-failing-deliver-syria-ceasefire-deal-wants-details-declassified/ri16479Russia says the US is not keeping its end of the bargain on the Syrian ceasefire and has continued its calls for Washington to make public all documents relating to the deal.

And only when we see this conflict as a proxy war over a pipeline do events become comprehensible.”

US Peace Council Returns From Syria
H.E. Bashar Ja’afari, Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic

A preliminary analysis of this data suggested that distinctions hadn’t been made between the US-backed, so-called ‘moderate rebels’ and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (Nusra Front) terrorists yet. “Russian officers have contacted representatives of Pentagon and the US special services in Geneva. We are examinating the data related to the areas of operation of US-controlled armed groups, which we’ve received today,” Zorin told journalists. “But a preliminary analysis revealed that these the distinctions between the group and terrorists hadn’t been made,” he added. © AFP 2016/ FADI AL-HALABI / AMC US List of Moderate Syrian Opposition Contains Groups With Nusra Front Links Earlier in the day the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the list of moderate Syrian opposition groups the United States provided to Russia contains formations that are linked to the Nusra Front militant group. “He [Lavrov] noted that the list of groups who signed an agreement with the United States on adhering to the ceasefire provided by the US side contains a series of blatantly terrorist formations cooperating closely with Nusra Front,” the ministry said in a statement. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US State Secretary John Kerry spoke on the phone earlier in the day.
