Today’s date, commonly written out as 22.02.2022, will be an easy one for future schoolchildren to remember. Various people will remember it in various ways. The residents of Donetsk and Lugansk, the two formerly Ukrainian, now once again Russian cities that have been subjected to conditions bordering on genocide since the US-instigated government overthrow of 2014 will remember jubilantly dancing in the streets, shooting off lots of fireworks, waving Russian flags and hollering the Russian national anthem. For them, this is the day on which new hope arrived that their eight-year nightmare would soon be over and life would finally return to normal.
The badly informed new German chancellor inadvertently helped to resolve the situation by saying that the idea of a Ukrainian-caused genocide in the Donbass is ridiculous. Given the history of the region, the public spectacle of a German leader using the words “genocide” and “ridiculous” in the same sentence made the moment pregnant with possibilities. Here is the information the seemingly rather dim-witted chancellor was missing. There were 9,282 dead on the Donbass side (70% of them civilians) and 114 children. The dead on the Ukrainian side (the Ukrainian troops and various assorted mercenaries that had been attacking and laying siege to the Donbass since 2014) numbered 20,186. This was prior to the renewed Ukrainian shelling of recent days. There were also over two million Donbass refugees in Russia, more than one million in the Ukraine and around 50 thousand in Belarus.
Most Russians will also remember this day with relief as the day their government finally—finally! after eight literally bloody years!—determined that a negotiated settlement in the Ukraine would simply never happen and that there was no point in waiting any further before going ahead and cleaning it up. It was cathartic for them to hear their president unleash a torrent of truth about the Ukraine, calling it a Bolshevist concoction of mostly historically Russian lands that was simply never intended for independent statehood, pointing out that it never paid its share of Soviet-era foreign debt (Russia paid it off on its behalf), that it refused to turn over Russian assets with which it incidentally ended up, and instead soaked up several hundred billion dollars of Russian subsidies, that it extorted money for the use of its Soviet-built gas pipeline that it got free of charge, and that it has squandered and stolen the rest of its vast Soviet patrimony. He also mentioned was the Ukraine’s stated ambitions simultaneously to join NATO and to invade Crimea—automatically triggering a world war. He mentioned its stated ambition to use plutonium from its spent nuclear fuel stockpiles and rockets left over from the Soviet times to concoct weapons of mass destruction—a situation that simply had to be dealt with. Finally, he made clear that all of the Ukrainian war crimes of the past eight years have been carefully documented and that all of these war criminals will be brought to justice.
This speech came soon after a televised session of Russia’s Security Council at which all of the key ministers spoke and all of them spoke in favor of giving recognition to Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. Prime Minster Mishustin said that they have been preparing for the inevitable fallout for some time and are ready for it, so let’s just do it. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, when asked whether it would be worthwhile to continue negotiations with the West over the Ukraine said that it is “a matter of taste” but that nothing would ever come of them. And Defense Minister Shoigu simply said, very quietly: “Let’s go ahead. Let’s do it.” The answer as to why Russia waited for so long to take this step is that it hadn’t been ready: the Russian economy hadn’t yet been bulletproofed against all possible sanctions; not all diplomatic methods of resolving the problem had been tried; and the military wasn’t quite ready to deal with the situation swiftly and efficiently.
And then came the signing ceremony, where Vladimir Putin, Denis Pushilin of Donetsk People’s Republic and Leonid Pasechnik of the Lugansk People’s Republic signed the documents granting them recognition. Written into these one-page orders was an order from Putin to the Russian military to provide for the establishment of peace. There is a very interesting question as to the borders in which this peace will be established. You see, after the unconstitutional overthrow of the democratically elected government in Kiev in 2014, Donetsk and Lugansk seceded as intact regions. Later, in the course of Kiev’s “anti-terrorist operation” (the prefix “anti-” here being rather superfluous) these regions came to be partially occupied by Ukrainian forces. It seems outlandish to imagine that Russia, in the course of recognizing the independence and sovereignty of Donetsk and Lugansk, also granted recognition to partial Ukrainian occupation thereof. It is far more likely that the Russian forces will now politely ask the Ukrainian forces to clear out by a certain deadline or, failing to do so, be killed or captured.
Finally, Western leaders may not realize this right away (they seem to be in a rather sorry state mentally) but it seems likely that they will eventually realize that 22.02.2022 was the day their bullshit finally stopped working. The idea of them spreading freedom and democracy rather than death and destitution (as evidenced by the Ukraine, on top of a log list of other countries they have “liberated” and “democratized”) is beyond preposterous. The idea that the US is a global hegemon and can dictate terms to everyone is dead as dead can be. NATO unity is just a couple of meaningless words on a piece of paper. Talking trash, such as demanding that Russia fulfill the terms of the Minsk agreements (according to which it has zero obligations) has no effect. It may take a little longer for them to realize that imposing additional sanctions on Russia is a really excellent way for them to pay $200 a barrel for oil while freezing in the dark. And at some point they will also realize that they have no choice but to grant the security guarantees that Russia has demanded because they have already done so, in speech and in writing, and weaseling out of their security commitments is not an option. It will be quite a steep learning curve for them and there is a question as to whether they can learn at all. The only ability they have demonstrated is for repeating the same litany of lies over and over again. Having been purpose-bred to carry water for banking and corporate interests, they may not be capable of the required level of rational thought. And that raises another question: What are the people in the West going to do about them?
As we say in Spain, this is stupid at 3. This has given a lot of diplomatic ammunition to the Russians and not only him, many in the European Union, including Pedro Sánchez, who would not be out of place at all in the Ukrainian Rada. They give real shame, that the European Union is finished or reformed, that NATO is finished, that foreign interference is finished and they leave us in peace.
David,
“They give real shame …”
Actually,
“They give real hope …”
NATO should be finished. If a bunch of Estonians suddenly show up here in the US to help defend our southern border, I might reconsider. Otherwise, Europe should be left on its own. If you’re really concerned about Russia invading Spain, well I guess you’ll have to figure something out.
funny you should say that… remember that those Estonians did actually turn up to defend the US, as did the Spanish ones, etc… the only time NATO’s article 5 was invoked, was by the US after 9/11 in order to invade Afghanistan… and all of us Europeans duly turned up to fight along our US partners… so just give us a shout when the Mexicans invade :-)
In the past, specifically in 2018, I gave the US and EU 10-15 years before they were cut down to size and lost their power and authority. I now think that this timeline will be cut short to 5 or so years, tops.
Russia has shown that it will not play the sick US game anymore, and decided to stop it.
“What are the people in the West going to do about them?”
That is easy. They will keep believing their stupid lies and continue electing clowns and fools
like Biden to political office. Russia is evil, after all. Because they saw it on t.v.
Some people may decide to emigrate. Where would they go? I guess most would move to warmer countries, such will be their fear of the cold. :-))
So you think Biden was elected? By whom, may I ask?
It is quite clear in the USA system — “The United States Electoral College is the group of presidential electors required by the Constitution to form every four years for the sole purpose of electing the president and vice president.” (Wikipedia).
The popular polling charade (called an election) is simply a sham public ritual of little or no meaning other than to guage and demonstrate public sentiment — something which is hardly necessary in modern times with new technologies.
He was selected by deep_state.
If you “vote” do not complain!!!!!!!!
If election mattered they’d made it illegal!
Sochi is a nice place aint it ;)
Mr. Orlov’s question at the end of his article is an excellent one. I wonder what the answer would be…
My suggestion: Hedonism, medication, and the joy in remembering the ”good old days”.
De-communization. This virus injected into the USSR is still the West’s most effective weapon against its people. Fighting over scraps of your fathers’ achievements and calling it nation-building. Nobody in power today actually suffered the cost of the last war, actually lived it. But just as they love to talk about what they were robbed of by the people who built everything they are, they love to talk about their victory over fascism as if it was their own. Where is this all actually heading?
Well, yesterday Putin redefined “decommunization” to mean giving everything that’s been inherited from the USSR to Russia, which is the USSR’s successor.
Thanks!
I posed this question at this blog yesterday—I don’t understand Putin means by decommunization; perhaps it was clear to most from the context, but not to me—but I guess my question was deemed to dumb to print.
I was especially striken by Vlad’s expression of: they will be able to witness the true “de-boshevisation” of the kraina…
at that point I have became misty eyed and started to daydream about the above mentioned process taking place all over the world – from the halls of Ottawa, Canberra, Washinton, London, Paris, etc…😲
My top picks for the President of the United States:
1) Donald Trump
2) Ronald DeSantis
3) Vladimir Putin
“It will be quite a steep learning curve for them and there is a question as to whether they can learn at all.”
In terms of cognitive habilities, they are capable. As much perverse they could be, they are able to understand when they want. But…
From my point of view, the problem here (“What are the people in the West going to do about them?”) is that if they aknowledge publicly that, they are afraid to face their own Frankenstein: The bubble-burst of the derivative markets (up to 1 USD quatrillion, as of Investorpedia) which can only be kept running if there is a never-ending perception of growth. Once the Western world faces a solid barrier to access to natural resources (such as the Russian defense system), Then, they lack enough collateral to support such market volume, not being able to access foreign resources, and the “musical chair” game on the Western derivative exchanges triggers. And then.. hold tight!
Spot on comment, resource control around the world is what much of this globalist imperialism is all about, & the manner that control over resources enables a vast amount of financial fraud & trickery. Without a monopoly of control over those resources, the west’s finance system, its banking cartel, will be reduced to a shadow of what it was, & the west will be reduced with it. But it will come to pass, this is the end of an era, a very ugly era it has been too.
I agree, and thats why I think that a 3rd WW type scenario cannot be avoided. They (the West) will not stop, because they can’t. They are in the grip of an ideology of evil.
Eventually Russia will see that it has no alternative but to go all in and cut the head off the snake, completely, once and for all.
‘finally-finally’….sometimes one has to bulk up before challenging the bully….better odds for punching above ones weight, besides, everyone loves an underdog. It really is a great day for the people of Donetsk and Lugansk though.
“What to do about them” Klaus Schwab has an entire tickle trunk full of puppets, the people in the west, those still platformed, are just getting ‘woked’ up now…..this story is still unfolding.
Cheers
Putin just confirmed my expectation that DPR and LPR have been recognized within their borders as defined by their constitutions—that is, within the borders of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, including the lands currently occupied by Ukrainian troops. Of course, he added, he would like such questions to be resolved in consultation with the Kiev government, but that sounded like a sad joke. The short of it, Ukies, get out!
The shocking thing is this recognized region appears to even include Mariupol. Not sure how Russia intends to get this back from Ukrop forces but snatching Mariupol would damn near leave Ukraine without a single real port and basically landlock the country as I understand it. Not sure how big their Odessa port is.
That’s right. Take away Mariupol and the Ukraine loses just over 10% of GDP in a single stroke. And yet I don’t think it would be that hard. Remember, the Ukie army is NATO-trained, not very different from the Georgians. And remember how they ran away from the Russians on 08/08/08.
They can roll up the artillery and fuel the planes, and then, ask nicely.
Which would mean they would have no reason to send any of their dodgy ships under the Kerch bridge anymore.
You have no idea, how happy I am to read your stuff about events I follow. You will understand some of my happiness if you know the following: Born 1948 and raised Czech, left ´67, UC Berkeley 73, Yale 76, tortured in EU jail 2010, having destroyed family with 11 children by EU Social services. Homeless in USA.
That bastard system is destroying families all over the west.
Good luck
Especially when Russian starts sending its fighters into the skies of Ukie occupied Donbass and takes out their artillery and mortar positions, first those firing into eastern Donbass, then more seriously when Russia gives Ukraine an ultimatum to evacuate all of Donbass or face war. Most of the Ukie soldiery will begin deserting at the first sign of real danger.
Maybe Putin can get a Mariupol deal with Akhmetov. He’s not in such good terms with Zelenski, I’ve heard…
The Russians have 12 boatloads of Marines in the Azov and Black Sea. Each has over 300 men.
With a few missiles and some airpower, the surrender will be swift.
And there are scores to settle. Two rounds of massacres took place there.
It was a CIA base.
“Two rounds of massacres took place there. It was a CIA base.”
I hope it still is.
Something tells me that Russian new Rules of Engagement do not allow “enemy combatants” to escape. Way too much talk about War Crimes Tribunal in Moscow.
Dont forget Yarosh is also on the LOC!

——
Larch, your dream appears imminent. But with a twist if living in Zone A.
This shocking day of 2.22.22 keeps on giving. “New New World Order © Smoothie” indeed.
After last night’s VVP’s order to Nazis to cease shelling, they responded this day with a Grad and heavy weapons. Then he cancelled Minks officially and ordered Ukie demilitarization, evacuating all diplomats, Russia is proclaiming lack of Ukrainian sovereignty and direct foreign control (he did it in speech last night too, see below). Lavrov repeated this today, saying “Ukraine does not have Sovereignty, it is controlled by outside forces.” Then cancelled meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian. Federation Council granted Russian military forces permission outside the nation (i.e. secure Donbass/hunt down Nazis).
So this is the plan for Ukraine, per VVP, if we carefully review his words from last night:
“It was Lenin who was the architect and engineer of Ukraine. Given that reality, de-communization would involve 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘆. 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀/𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗼𝘃 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗯𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮.”
Why?
Because “Ukraine is managed by foreign powers, this affects all levels of authorities … Ukraine was never a true nation. Ukraine is a colony with puppets at its helm.” unquote
meanwhile the AZE is relentlessly seeking a cover for a collapsing ponzi: Russia’s Gazprom stopped taking orders from natural gas transit through Ukraine on February 18, with less than 5% reserves remaining in Europe. So as Saker said, the political loss of this military victory is being leveraged to lightening-quick collapse the West, perhaps in matter of days, to be blamed on Russia. This is how the criminals hope to escape the lamp posts. German/French/Italian pols are absolute abject traitors. God help us all.
Well, Mariupol was part of former Doneck-Lugansk oblast (republic within Ukraina?). Actually, current borders of LDR cove r barely 1/4 of former oblast. That is UK occupied part. Odessa is far away, but if old borders, before 2014 are back, it becomes much closer, if need be, at some time in the future. Unfortunately, at some time in history, a tribe named Hazars was strong and claimed that land – Black sea cost, including Odessa. It was not for long time, then Russians reduced them to much less significant force. That may complicate things, or not, at least there is no reference in the Bible of Novorossiya.
Reports are that Ukraine is moving heavy artillery towards Mariupol. They may see this as the next threat.
Thanks Dmitry for the article and I was about to post this – glad you saw this too in regard to the Donbass borders – and so it should be.
Also, the Russian parliament granted Pres. Putin the right to use the military abroad. After discussing the situation in Donbass, the Senate has authorized the president’s request:
https://www.rt.com/russia/550276-putin-military-use-abroad/
“…The authorization grants Putin the right to use Russian forces abroad “in accordance with the principles and norms of international law,” the Senate’s resolution, which was released to the media, shows. The document does not impose any specific limits on the use of the military, with the number of troops, as well as “the areas of their activity, their goals, and length of stay outside Russia” to be decided by the president “in accordance with the Constitution.”….”
A very important part of this authorisation – its not just about the Donbass and no time limit.
Great writing once again
Thank you as always for your insights.
I know it is early, but what are the chances of Donetsk & Lughansk merging into a single Republic of Novorossia? If Mariupol, Odessa, or other regions manage to expel the Nazis, what are the chances of them merging with Novorossia?
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. There is a peculiarity to regions that have been part of the Ukraine: they lack basic solidarity with each other. Merging them together may be a bad idea and result in an unstable, chimerical state like the Ukraine is now.
Also historically Novorossia is a vast territory, practically half of contemporary Ukraine/404, or what was Ukraine. So that would include from the east Harkov, obviously Donetsk & Lugansk, then Mauriopol to the south, Nikolyev, over to Odessa. In the end, & it will happen much faster than anyone thinks, this will come to pass. The bulk of contemporary Ukraine – or what was – 404, will end up in Novorossia, because the logic & history of the place demands it. Now that L/DNR have been recognized, a real de-Nazification will begin in all of Ukraine – the greatest risk at the moment is that the country doesn’t descent into a civil war, a very real possibility. The west may even instigate it, in the belief that they can still drag Russia into some costly bloodshed. It is all going to be very very interesting.
Excellent piece, by the way.
Do you have a citation for Russia recognizing the larger borders? From Tass last night:
Russia to recognize LPR, DPR within currently established borders
https://tass.com/russia/1407803
Quote:
Russia will recognize the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) within the borders that have been currently established, the issue of the ratification of agreements on friendship and cooperation with the republics will be reviewed by the Federation Council on Tuesday, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council’s (the upper house of parliament) Foreign Affairs Committee Andrey Klimov said.
“Of course, we are talking about those territories that are located within the borders established to date. The rest is beyond the framework of legal activity,” the senator told the Russia-24 TV channel.

Russia recognizes the independence of Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics within the area that their authorities implement their power, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko told journalists Tuesday.
“Within the borders that DPR and LPR leadership implements its power authority and jurisdiction,” he said, answering a question.

DPR’s, LPR’s borders to stay within Donetsk, Lugansk regions’ limits — DPR leader
https://tass.com/politics/1408309
Quote
The borders of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) will remain within the limits of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, DPR’s leader Denis Pushilin said on Tuesday.
“I can only speak about it briefly. The constitution of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the constitution of the Lugansk People’s Republic have the borders within the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Time will show what is to be done next,” he said in an interview with the Rossiya-1 television channel answering a question about the recognition of the republics in the 2014 borders.
End Quote
The above appears to be ambiguous. Is he referring to the borders prior to 2014, or is he referring to the borders under the constitution of the republics after 2014? That Constitution states:
Article 56
1 The territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic at the time of joining the Donetsk People’s Republic to a federal state is determined by the boundaries of the former Donetsk region as part of the Republic of Ukraine.
So this would appear to mean that LDPR territory consists of the region including that under the current control of the Ukrainian military, whereas the Russian statements seem to indicate only the regions currently under LDPR control. This appears ambiguous to me.
See below. It’s been clarified to my satisfaction.
Hopefully in due time we in the West will try them and then hang them for conspiracy and treason, and then I’m sure Canada will follow suit.
The honest & facetious answer to the question with which Dmitry Orlov concludes above – vote for the same lot all over again.
It’s later than you think.
Western Europe is occupied, 77 years already. And when an occupying army withdraws, those who collaborated with the occupying army face unpleasantness.
Jens Stoltenberg gives a stirring speech about how NATO will release “shake and shimmy” upon Russia if she does not withdraw to her own borders. The emotional crescendo coming from the mouth of the Secretary-General resembled an exotic bird who uses his plumage while strutting his stuff to impress the coterie of NATO members.
Russia be afraid of what you witness; take heed of this man’s words!
See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDvFdj-pFMc
Jens Stoltencake comes across as a pea brain pretending to be, and looking like a (sic) pea cock.
Nice video.
Sorry if not on point, so I’ll ask: is NATO now relevant again allowing the useful idiot to retire proudly screaming and preening in his ‘surprising’ new role as an international banker?
NATO will continue as the European henchman for the U.S. but its patina as a guarantor of the “defender of peace” has politically and morally degraded.
Here is a recent article that talks about the folly of NATO’s expansionist endeavors and the effort that must be made to form a new, non-aggression European security pact.
See: https://natowatch.org/default/2022/nato-russia-ukraine-train-wreck-options-peace .
The people in the West are waking up fast. In short order there will be hell top pay for lies and BS they have believed for 80 years. Yes (22.02.2022 was the day their bullshit finally stopped working )
Unfortunately, it is far from “stopped working” yet.Just look at this: https://www.timesofisrael.com/uk-minister-likens-russia-ukraine-to-wwii-appeasement-whiff-of-munich-in-the-air/
Russia is a nuclear power. So is China. Both have huge land masses. Little Britain and the US can not “win” this one. What whiff Little Britain smells, it would be Munich for it and not Russia or China. It is over for US and Little Britain bulling the rest of the world.
”Whiff of Munich in the air”
Only with the striking difference that, unlike the Sudeten Nazis in 1938, today’s Bandernazis are left with a wasteland nobody wants and Germany too is deindustrializing. Putin has just made another solid contribution to world pence; Chamberlain (aptly called ”J’aime Berlin” by some) contributed in quite a different way.
“Today’s date, commonly written out as 22.02.2022, will be an easy one for future schoolchildren to remember”
I think Dimitri is being a little coy. That date format is used most places other than the US. It is palindromic. Not only that but, if represented by common digital means, not only does it read the same backwards, but upside down as well! Hasn’t happened since 11.01.1011 and never will again – unless I’ve missed something. So non-US kids have a unique way of remembering this historically pivotal day. Hurrah!
Well, at least I am not a little koi. That’s a small decorative carp.
Definitely a big koi. He did not mean to belittle. ;) Your work has been great, Mr. Orlov. It is amazing how much influence you have exerted with your pen. God bless.
The koi is a symbol of virility and fighting strength in Japan, thus used for children’s day (before 1948, boys’ day). https://aboutjapan.japansociety.org/kodomo_no_hi_childrens_day_celebration
The truth is that every day will never happen again whatever the Kabalists try to tell us.
Numerology is a weird worm hole.
And yes, this one date will go down in memory for a lot of people in the west as the day the trousers began to feel a good deal more uncomfortable.
I might add that the real date to remember is 21/02/2022
22/02/2022 is the day the world saw what happened the previous day.
What this entirely bankrupt Western ”leadership” doesn’t get is that even if there were some substance to their accusations (there isn’t), it adds absolutely no explanatory power whatsoever to their hissy fits, staged or otherwise. Although they are not necessarily evil (yet some are), they are clearly unconcerned with and indifferent to the fate of Humanity. To the great majority of the world’s peoples, their hollowness shows convincingly. And yet they can’t keep quiet.
This is one of the most brilliant and lucid essays I have ever read. Bravo Mr. Orlov!
Yes indeed, I was just thinking the same. Mr. Orlov is a really great writer, Love & appreciate his pieces.
“What are the people in the West going to do about them?”
Unfortunately, nothing much except freezing, paying high energy prices and cursing Russia while praising their leader for being tough on Russia.
The multipolar world is on a roll !!
Answering your final question, What are the people in the West going to do about them?
This is an answer from Sweden. It’s simple. We start by making them irrelevant.
A new political party, Knapptryckarna, or the Button Pushers, has been registered. Once in Parliament it will make every political question into a referendum. Regardless of how they voted in the elections, every citizen in Sweden, who so wishes, will cast his or her vote and Knapptryckarna will vote accordingly on the issue. Knapptryckarna will be void of any ideology or political program of their own.
https://knapptryckarna.se/
Same thing is happening in France

Enter election machine shenanigans. The credibility of “fair” tabulations took a bit hit in the home of true democracy, did it not?
Go back to paper ballots, hand marked and hand counted in public. Lots of countries still do it that way.
Can’t find how long the contract for 50 billion cubic metres of gas through NS1 has to run. Let’s hope it’s up for renewal soon, at most a year or two, and Putin/Gazprom puts an end to sweetheart German deals; those are only for sweetheart and the Germans ain’t. In fact some of that Gas is diverted to Poland, turned into LNG and sold for double to the Asian Market.
Russia is looking to boost its LNG production and with prices as is this will offset the necessary Capital costs of investment in infrastructure.
I want to see all those cockroach Euro pussies squirm, or as my favourite uncle, John Bolton, peace-activist says, squeeze ’em till the pips squeak.
NS1 is practically falling apart, I’m sure it may be terrorized by a roaming band of Nazis at some point, or be hit by a stray artillery shell, thus giving the Germans no option other than to open NS2 whilst NS1 receives the repairs it is more than due.
LOL! Roaming bands of Nazis on the bottom of the Baltic where NS1 runs?
I just wish Zakharchenko could see it. And Givi, Motorola and Mozgovoi. And all who died or were masacred for Novorossia.
I agree, but their deaths were not in vain. They will be remembered as the founders of their states that made it possible for others to live in safety and freedom.
The level of economic destruction since the Maidan coup is off the charts for the whole region. Who benefited from this?
I was expressing my admiration for Putin’s smarts and strength this morning to some friends. A real leader. Not a demented puppet of a puppet fronting for who knows who in the West. Good Luck and God Bless Russia and all honest haerd working people everywhere.
How about that bastard Castro kid ruining Canada for those Davos Ass*****.
The Anglo world is insane. EU even worse.
Do any Americans know Blinken’s family is from Ukraine? What is an American anymore, besides braindead?
Wonder if Blinkens clan were from the Bander mob?
When Russia did military operations in Syrian air space in 2015, and the USA didn’t respond other than harumph-isms, it was obviously over. So that’s seven years right there. It doesn’t look like it will take another seven years. USA mis-leadership seems determined to get this hari-kari over with as soon as possible.
With the USA imploding like a Hunter Biden erection after tweaking for three (t)weeks, the curtain might fall at the speed of political gravity.
Russia has obviously handled outside nations with adroit decisiveness. That’s basically over. It’s just clerical now.
What remains to be seen is how Russia absorbs its own mishandling of covidiocy by following the Euromerican model. Even with victory over the Big Fat Western (former) Hegemon, Putin is sitting on a Humpty-Dumpty ledge unless he turns around on that policy soon, I fear.
Fear not. Russia made a fabulous sum of money from Sputnik-V exports to something like 75 countries and saved countless lives by so doing.
Very well put. Couldn’t agree more.
The way I see it, one the most important, even tectonic, Putin’s remarks concerned the so-called “decommunization” in Ukraine, which has been going on since the beginning of their “independence” in the ’90s. The steps they took are too numerous to list, the most prominent seem to be: renaming the streets, taking down the statues of the Communist leaders and the military commanders, celebrating the Nazi collaborators (Bandera, Shukhevych et al).
Addressing the Ukronazis, he said (not verbatim but close enough): “You’ve been engaged in decommunization for a long time. Okay. It’s fine by us. But we’ll show you what real decommunization is like”.
He said this having outlined the history of Ukraine, pointing out that large swaths of the present-day Ukraine were “gifted” by the Soviet leaders: Lenin, Stalin and Khrushchev.
Jens Stoltencake comes across as a pea brain pretending to be, and looking like a (sic) pea cock.

Back to Earth. DNR troops are at the gate of Mariupol, have been there for quite some time. Good that they did not fight for it (they were ready and willing, but someone stopped them.), now they will take it without a round fired. UKI will run off in following few days. They will run as far as possible, trust me.
My only partially facetious prediction is that Ukie troops will march on Kiev under Russian flags.
Perhaps, finally, the dead end path of “Pax Americana” may be realized by a lethargic American public. I can only hope that this vicious imperialistic mode of thinking will die with it. It has no place in the conduct of a Democratic Republic.
After years of bullying and dominating and pushing, somebody finally pushed back. It’s about time. Thank you Vladmir Putin, and thank you Russia! You have just shown the world that US hegemony and globalist Jew-driven social engineering is not the inevitable path for humanity. There is another path that humanity can take, another world we can live in. The Russians, the Chinese and their allies can show us that path. Let the great nonaligned powers like the Indians, Brazil, Turkey, the Latin Americans, let them now decide if they really want to be part of the US dominion.
This is excellent article especially the question ” What are the people in the West going to do about them?” Ah if Canada is any indication the civilian population of the west can be destroyed economically. Sanctioned if you will by gov/banks imposing laws that suspend the constitution and seize peoples assets. So it will be hard to know what will really happen.
What are we in the West going to do about them.
A very very important and timely question.
I know what most straight thinking folk would like to do with them, and that opportunity will come sooner that most people think. Two more years max before Western ideology hits the buffers like a speeding train, because that’s what always happens to an ideology!
Excellent piece by Orlov.
One question I have about this paragraph:
” It seems outlandish to imagine that Russia, in the course of recognizing the independence and sovereignty of Donetsk and Lugansk, also granted recognition to partial Ukrainian occupation thereof. It is far more likely that the Russian forces will now politely ask the Ukrainian forces to clear out by a certain deadline or, failing to do so, be killed or captured.”
So far, as far as I can tell, Russia isn’t clear about that. They’ve said that they recognize the *current* post-2014 borders of the LDPR. The LDPR for its part seems to want to extend their control to the original pre-2014 borders. Presumably they will ask Russia to assist in that. Not to mention that if the Ukies don’t stop shelling, the LDPR can take matters into their own hands and try to force the contact line further west. This will entail all-out fighting between LDPR and Ukrainian forces, which will force the LDPR to request Russian assistance and, of course, Russia will respond.
Actually I think there’s another way to interpret the Russian ambiguity. They’ve said that they support the LDPR “in the areas that they have authority” (or some such phrase.) That sounds to me like Russia is telling the LDPR “we support the areas you control – if you want your original borders, you’ll need to initiate that before we will help you”, thus putting the onus on the LDPR to extend the fighting, rather than Russia. Does this track?
So the question then becomes, if the LDPR tries to extend its control to the original borders, and this results in all-out war, and Russia responds, does Russia then try to eliminate the Ukrainian military altogether? Does this result in the question of the existence of the Kiev regime rising? Or does Russia merely engage the Ukrainians enough to re-establish the original LDPR borders and then stop?
The impression I’m getting so far is that Russia only intends to do as much as is needed and nothing more. Opinions?
Re my previous posts questioning where the LDPR borders were that Russia was committed to protect…
I see now that Putin has clarified the situation about the borders.
From Al Jazeera:
Putin backs separatists’ claim to Donbas region of Ukraine
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/2/22/putin-gets-green-light-to-deploy-troops-to-eastern-ukraine
Quiote
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Putin said Moscow had recognized the independence of Ukraine’s separatist regions within their administrative borders, including territory controlled by Kyiv.
“Well, we recognized them. And this means that we recognized all their fundamental documents, including the constitution,” Putin told reporters. “And the constitution spells out the borders within the Donetsk and Luhansk regions at the time when they were part of Ukraine.”
End Quote
So this means Ukraine has to withdraw from those regions inside the LDPR that they control – which means the LDPR will probably have to force them, and that means all-out war which means the LDPR will probably need direct military assistance from Russia, who will undoubtedly provide it.
So we’re guaranteed an increase in the fighting. That was my main interest in pursuing this – to determine what happens next.
My crystal ball isn’t clear on this, but I expect developments to be rather swift. I can’t get the image out of my head of Ukie troops marching on Kiev under Russian flags. I am not sure what the missing ingredient is to make that happen; it could be just a few words of encouragement and some Russian flags, though.
It is going to be impossible for Russia(also China and Iran) to ever be able to engage in negotiated settlement of things with the West from now on. Western leaders are known to serve as complete puppets for big financial corporations which consist of rich Zionists and the Anglos. The AIPAC is totally in charge of the USA and its sister network is firmly holding the EU by the neck. This group of ultra rich individuals make big money when other independent countries are engaged in never ending conflicts and wars including the current Ukraine sideshow which has been concocted against Russia in order to squander her resources in the course of the conflict. Given this fact, it is predictable, soon we should see the Russians take full controls over land-sea-space (in partnership with China and regional other regional players) of three critical areas, namely, Syria – the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab. It would send the necessary signal to the Western elite that any further going with their sanction business, will have an inverse and direct blow on their current status. It should also help prevent an all out warfare scenarios and possibility of nuclear exchange between the East and the West.
I remember one line of thought from the time I studied management. Leaders will have managers of the same caliber as the leader’s. In other words, those who elect their leaders deserve each other. As per Pareto’s principle, in any group, statistically one will find the ratio of 80/20, of idiots (the 80) to intelligent (the 20). There is no way that the westernized brain washed would raise above their serf mentality
Pora by podjeto ją wśród przeciwników, demonizowanych codziennie w anglosaskich mediach.
Społeczeństwo hedonistów i sybarytów zawsze przegrywa.

The Home section of My YouTube app is showing me some serious hardcore Russian military porn (to use a phrase from Andrei Martyanov). This video was posted Dec.31. I can’t imagine this kind of material being released unless some significant military action will take place. The Mexican defence department did this kind of thing a few times last year that I noticed — did they repel some kind of major attack?? I suspect so but that’s purely speculative.
“Having been purpose-bred to carry water for banking and corporate interests, they may not be capable of the required level of rational thought. And that raises another question:What are the people in the West going to do about them?”
Ideally they ( war, political, media and banking criminals ) should all be all rounded up and dealt with for all of their wars going back to Yugoslavia at least.
We have seen recently how these tyrants will act, as the public comes out in numbers, the criminals in charge will deploy whatever means necessary to keep the public at bay, im talking about Justin Trudeau.
$200 oil just maybe the tipping point when the public finally does wake up, and they the public come out to protest in numbers so overwhelming the tactics to silence them just doesnt work anymore.
What happens after that who knows, but as mentioned 22-02-2022 will be a day remembered as the day western bullshit worked no more.
Absolute spot on .
Just saw recently the mass graves of 200 people slaughtered by the scumbags of the Azov Nazi battalions , that
were discovered by the Officials in LPR outskirts controlled by the Ukrops back in 2014-2015 until they were forced back by the brave Militia made up of Brave Citizens of both the DPR and LPR . I remember well as I have a friend in Lugansk and she would inform me back then that they were very scared that the Nazis were coming again . Her Grandmother could not believe that as a Child she had sheltered in the same basement that she again had to as an Old Lady from Nazis . Initially I thought they could not be right , but deeper investigation showed that Great grand Children of WW2 Nazi Ukrainians , were in these kill battalions used by NATO and BIDEN US OBAMA , to carry out these atrocities against the Citizens my friend and her family some of them in the former eastern Ukraine and like Crimea , had an International Observed Referendum to return to Russian Territory , not annexed by the way as western medias reported but secede back to Russia, yet due to the overwhelming lies of the Western Media and Govts , they have had to defend themselves . They were thankfully given Aid by Russian Convoys , Food and clothing through to even now , their Courageous Leaders and generals in 2014-15 pushed them back with Trophy Weapons , when Poroshenko and these evil lot found themselves in defeat they said oh lets have a Peaceful settlement , Minsk Agreement . This they have never adhered to, always shooting off the occasional missile and blaming the Republics , and then sending in assassins to kill Alexander and his General too in Donetz . I am proud of these Russian Speaking peoples tenacity to stand their ground and defend their land that they have lived on for Centuries as Russian speaking people , now they have the full support of Russia like the Crimeans and deservedly so . So much bad has taken place in Ukraine with Child Trafficking etc for years I’m told , so I hope this will be a big clean up operation of this as well and exposure of Obama and Bidens involvement in so many issues there as well . Freedom and Peace for the People of the DPR and LPR , and of course the good Ukrainian people as well . Go away the meddling US/Nato Deep State Military , you have to be disbanded as they have caused more wars than any peace , all for their Oligarch Masters

Sorry but people have to be consistant, and have critical sens.
Either 30 thousand killed is a genocide and Gaza blockade is a genocide too and officials have to state that.
Either it is not and Gaza blockade is not a genocide (Russia haven’t taken tangible action about it).
