Okay, it appears that the Dutch voted “NO” on the association wit the Ukraine. RT says that exit polls report a 64% “NO” vote.
That is the end of the entire Euromaidan project.
Either the Eurobureaucrats will accept the result and act on it or they will have to declare it “only consultative” and ignore this result. If they do that, they will further discredit the entire enterprise and the blowback of that will be even worse.
Frankly, at this point the Europeans would be better off to use this vote as a pious excuse to forget this entire episode a dump an already semi-dead Ukronazi Ukraine.
As for the people in the Ukraine, they will probably begin to realize that they have been totally had by the Europeans, badly, and that absolutely nobody needs them or cares about them. Welcome to the real world! Sorry for the pain, but you should have used your head before believing in all sorts of self-evidently delusional fairy tales.
The Saker
UPDATE: this is how the BBC is reporting the result of the elections – in small letter, at the bottom of the page, under and article about France banning sex for money, and even “reject’ is in quotation marks :-)
See for yourself:
Only 64% said “no”. This narrow victory will allow the vote to be rigged. Besides this democracy no longer counts as other than a veil the oligarchs and their sycophants hide behind. The U.S.-Central bankers will not allow this vote to stand.
I think the thing here is that the US has failed to achieve its goals in Ukraine and now They want to pass the bill onto their European vassals and be done with it.
The EU will pick up the tab because that’s what their controlled political class is for. If the referendum fails there will be a treaty. They must obey their masters. No European leader is able to act in his own country’s best interest. The EU is only able to act in the empires interests. The people of Europe are Rubes. Suckers.
I was in Poland in ’99, and had the opportunity to speak with a group of about 20 high school students. They asked me a lot of questions, and two that stand out in memory were, “should Poland become part of EU?” and “We want to be “kewl” like Americans students- what do you recommend?”
1) The EU is a train wreck looking for a place to happen. In ten years time, you will see it fall on its face in utter humiliation – do not vote to become part of it.
2) YOU ARE POLAND! Don’t you understand that? Why would you want to become like Americans, who you don’t really know that much about? Poland is YOUR COUNTRY, and her liberty will always be your first concern. Meanwhile, choose better examples to follow.
Those people are in their 30’s now. I wonder if any of them remember what I told them?
That is 64% of the 32% or something like that who bothered to vote. In all, about 20% of the voters chose “No”. On the other hand, that’s how Wstern democracy works: if you couldn’t be bothered to vote, it is assumed you don’t care.
NO. It is because we care that we don’t vote any more.
64% is 64:36, or 16:9. It’s a substantial margin, nearly two to one. It’s hardly the kind of 50.x% vote that routinely elects American presidents.
Looks like it’s “No” to Ukraine with a 32 percent turnout.
https://www.rt.com/news/338694-dutch-referendum-ukraine-eu/
Ukraine is such an ugly baby that only mother Russia could love it. .
Update 00h10 CET,final victory for the NO side:62/38,and the result is valid with 32.2 pct .
Awaiting the first eurocrétins reactions…..(lol)
Champagne(and a good one)in Moscow tonight.
I’m afraid this ”no” vote has no effect at all. EU has efficient ways to undermine the voice of its citizens. They did it by the referendums in France and Ireland quite easily.
The first trick here in this dutch case is simply rejecting counted votes by some technicality so that the percentage of voting is below 30%.
If dutch officials responsible of counting the votes don’t play ball here, then there’s other means of dealing this. You can always vote again with little alterations on the voting matter until you have wanted results achieved. This is quite common procedure.
This case I suspect that they simply ignore the voting of dutch people. For instance the number one news programme (YLE TV1) in Finland was totally silent about the referendum – not one world was mentioned. Alltough from radio I heard from the same state owned company a day before that there’s going to be a needless referendum in Holland about the case which has been already decided and this was delivered by quite sarcastic tone.
Whose going to react when the decision is not what the people want? Outside Netherlands nobody and inside there’s perhaps a couple of day some furious discussions on alternative media and the main stream media simply turns the blind eye to it. That’s all.
There’s no democracy inside EU. There never was and never will be.
Alltough I’m not so optimistic as Saker on this matter I want to express my gratitude to analysis of this site in general. There’s a lot of excellent analyses (Syria, Ukraine etc.). Brilliant!
(sorry about language failures, english is just not my cup of tea)
I wonder if after the Dutch regime tried all the bureaucratic tricks they could to hold the vote down. Yet it sill reached the needed proportion. And with it being lopsided at that. Will the Dutch people just publicly accept being insulted by their regime. Or will they at least preform as well as the Icelandic people. And go to the streets in record numbers to demand the ouster of their regime. If they are going to be treated like the Ukrainian people. Shouldn’t they learn from them at least how to respond to it. Surely there is a Dutch translation for “Dutch Spring”.
Yes Unle Bob, the regime did everything to hold the votes down.
– 10% less places where people could vote. For example: Were there normally 11 places in a town to vote, now there was only one place.
– subtile yes voting advice on flyers send from the national regime to the municipalities. screen shot text explaning why the referendum The text says: Purpose of the association is to deepen trade relations and also to strengthen democracy and security of both Ukraine and Europe
– various municipalities did not send the personal permit needed to bring out their vote.
– unclear indications how to fill in the voting form voting form
– ongoing YES campaign on radio, TV, posters on trainstations funded by Soros On the poster is the text: Don’t let Putin finish the colouring picture, vote yes on april 6th
– a campaign not to vote al all. Do not vote, boycott all referendums
I could go on and on.
Campaigners who organised the referendum
Surely there is a Dutch translation for “Dutch Spring”. That would be Hollandse Lente.
…
Uncle Bob, Ingrid,
There is no need for any ‘spring’ or ‘color’ revolutions in the Netherlands?
After all, the most recent parasitic land-grab claiming the Netherlands was the colored ‘Orange’ revolution back in 1815 when the aristocracy of the House of Orange-Nassau formally replaced the Dutch Republic paving the way for ‘Bilderberg Bernard’ to hand our sovereignty to the EU.
Republiek der Nederlente is open for debate,
it ought to include Flemish Belgium, and all of Brussels..
…
The vote is referendum is supposed to be “non-binding”. The national parliaments of the EU had already approved the agreement. The Netherlands does not have to take the results of referendum into account to ratify the agreement. The EU most likely has more than enough arm-twisting power to make sure that they don’t take it into account..
The only result will be that referendums (alreadydreaded like the plague by the elites, because they are direct democracy) will be further erradicated. Does anyone remember any referendum in the US at the national level?
Democracy was gone with the Greek referendum, but the referendum’s do give a chance to see what people think in Greece and Netherlands, and how different those countries would be if there were some form of democracy.
The passive majority may be a bit hazy on what is actually happening, but they know they are being lied to.
This is the bbc link on the dutch referendum..
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35976086
the bbc havent rigged the ‘ Most Popular ‘ list yet, the article is number 4 on that list. Number 2 is ‘ where are the americans in the panama papers ? ‘
the article has more gratuitous references to Russia, Putin, Malaysian airlines etc
Well, it seems that referendum shall soon be condemned as a violation of democratic values, human rights and international law.
:-D
You’ve hit a nail here. In France, “values” excuse every denial of popular opinion.
We may soon witness some North Atlantic Terrorist Organization “exercises” in the Netherlands… and in the extreme case, we may even witness a few embankments and dams being down in order to “treat another outburst of Hollanditis” (remember, this is a second time that the Dutch have attempted to halt the Brussels steamroller).
Just like in the early 1980s, when Fashington proliferated nuclear weapons to the Netherlands despite massive popular protests and in blatant violation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
LOL!
I suppose we’ll have to consider that, their way of eating humble pie.
~e.
“That is the end of the entire Euromaidan project.”
Oh, come on. That’s what I’d call clutching at any straw to sing the old “Ukraine is about to collapse” song.
This will have little to no effect on the Junta and the criminal way they exercise power. None.
On the other hand, many if not most of us started reading this blog to follow what was going on in the Donbass.
The current silence of this site about the terrible mess in those provinces is deafening. Even the UN is putting out reports about how dire the situation is: http://svpressa.ru/politic/article/145971/
That BBC page!
For those who have missed it, check out Carl Bildt’s reaction to the Dutch Referendum on Twitter.
Pure gold!
Well, I had no idea at all about this referendum till you have commented here about it, since there were no clue of it neither on TV news nor in the radio, at least in Spain.
BBC is controlled by the British government. The British Government is the owner of BBC. It is not much problem – problem is that they hide it.
But at the top of the bbc page is the resignation of the Iceland PM. Surely those pesky Icelanders were in the cross-hairs.
As to Ukraine, amid all the condemnation of Putin for not pushing for incorporation of Donbass into Russian Federation, I’ve always thought that maybe Russia doesn’t want them. Russia already asset-stripped the professional engineering and manufacturing class. Judging by the infighting and assassinations taking place in Donbass, maybe the Russians simply considered Ukraine as too troublesome.
Russia’s President Putin has stated numerous times, he is not interested in the Ukraine becoming part of Russia because he realizes the enormous cost Russia would need to outlay to bring some semblance of normality to their economy, something he has said, Russia cannot afford.
Besides that issue, he also stated events in the Ukraine today are a direct result of their own greedy mismanagement and would ultimately need to be corrected by the Ukrainian people themselves.
Now if I, sitting at the bottom of the World are aware of these facts, how come someone living in Europe is ignorant of them ?
One option would be a change in the treaty. If they take out the “association agreement” parts and turn it into a normal trade agreement it would become EU authority. The member states have transferred the power to approve trade agreements to Brussels. So if it becomes a normal trade agreement Brussels can introduce it without approval of the member states.
The simple yet profound fact is that accepting Ukraine into the EU is far too costly, which the EU simply cannot afford. A comparison with Poland from say 1991 re GDP and population would reveal that it was quite similar, and obviously Poland has powered ahead due to the massive amounts of EU money it got, as well as allowing Poles to work in Britain etc, and take/send a lot of the money back to Poland.
The Dutch, like most people in the EU, know this, and don’t want to pay up for Ukraine.
Priceless compilation about Ukrainian Democracy:
6 april: Stem nee! Net wat veiliger …

The low turn out of only 32 % shows how the dutch people have very low trust in the government and democracy.
The high number of votes against the asociation agreement shows how the dutch people have very low trust in the government, that they reject the euopean union that takes away sovereignity of memberstates, that they reject expansion of the european union, that they reject usa doctored violent color revolutions and coups, reject nazis, reject shedding of blood in east ukraine, reject this association agreement, that has no benefit for ordinary people and only serves the elites to gain money and power, etc.
CyberBerkut gained access to documents, and found out that George Soros had invested heavily to carry out a propaganda campaign in favor of the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement ratification. No surprises here, but you can download lots of sordid details.
http://cyber-berkut.org/en/
64% of 32% of the dutch population said NEE!
according to http://www.europarl.europa.eu/elections2014-results/de/turnout.html 42.64% of the dutch population was interested in the latest EU elections.
Did anybody conclude anything then ?
Statistically it would have been enough up to an level of maybe 2-3% error to ask about 2000 dutch people. So this 64% of 32% is a very important result and if the ignore it now, there will be a payback.

quote – April 06, 2016 at 10:50 pm UTC:
“I’m afraid this ”no” vote has no effect at all.”
Please note, this referendum was a grassroots initiative by Dutch citizens.
The Dutch government to be legally obliged to organize the referendum required an initial 300.000 signatures.
This referendum on the 6th of April 2016 took place only because volunteers actually managed to collect a total of 427.000 signatures.
Against all odds, corrupted biased mainstream media, George Soros financing a yes-campaign, etc, we have a loud and clear legal Dutch “NO” vote against the EU-Ukraine association treaty.
Sitting on your hands, lamenting slavery and serfdom, has an effect.
…
…
The Dutch deep state in collaboration with Dutch mainstream media was aiming at keeping the voters turnout below the threshold of 30% required for the outcome of the referendum to be legally valid.
They nearly succeeded, the voter turnout was 32%.
The Dutch government is basically stuck now with the following dilemma:
1) – They follow the legally valid outcome and will therefore not ratify the association treaty, period.
2) – They will figure out a way to ratify the treaty one way or the other and thereby prove, once again, to the Dutch and the rest of the world, that the EU project is a non democratic and totalitarian endeavor.
Being well aware of the non democratic and totalitarian nature of the EU project is the major reason for arriving at having the referendum in the first place, resulting in a 61% Dutch “NO” vote.
The Anne Applebaums of this world are clearly not amused as evidenced here:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/russias-influence-in-western-elections/2016/04/08/b427602a-fcf1-11e5-886f-a037dba38301_story.html
In 2005 we had a Dutch referendum on the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe.
61.5% of Dutch voters rejected the Constitution, on a turnout of 63.3%.
The EU constitution was cosmetically replaced by the Treaty of Lisbon.
…
Brexit referendum is next, Thursday 23 June 2016.

The entire EU website of rt.com ‘Live’ is stopped because of the Merkel formal agreement with Erdogan to prosecute the German comic for making fun of Erdogan. No “live” comments are working, at least in Netherlands. No wonder the US demanded that Merkel be forced to work with the US against Europe/Russia. 7 years ado. When she first hit the Washington Rose Garden, they had her! She knew, was ashamed, deeply. Was on her face.
The overwhelming “No!” Dutch vote on Ukraine was because we know how the US will use it to destroy Russia and Europe! Not the reasons cited in the attached article at all!
