A mystifying diplomatic escalation ensued following the disappearance of Saudi Washington Post columnist, Jamal Khashoggi, after visiting the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.
Why would the United States of America make such a fuss over the disappearance of a non-American citizen? Why would America turn a blind eye to the Saudi killing of thousands of Yemeni civilians and the starving of millions others and then make “threats” against Saudi Arabia after one single Saudi journalist disappeared and has presumably been murdered by Saudi authorities?
And since when did Erdogan worry about human rights? After all, this is the same man whose army has committed countless atrocities against Syria and Turkish Kurds.
And the repercussions did not stop at the official level. Even Western business leaders are cancelling trade deals with Saudi Arabia and asking its government for explanations. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/business-leaders-cancel-saudi-events-ask-crown-prince-mohammed-bin-salman-for-info-on-jamal-khashoggi-disappearance/
Let us not forget that America does not only ignore the war on Yemen, but it also assists the Saudis and supplies them with arms and intelligence. What’s behind the sudden U-turn? Why would the President of the United States of America be personally involved in this? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/10/11/donald-trump-demands-answers-saudi-arabia-missing-journalistjamalkhashoggi/
Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has a long history of persecuting dissidents and suppressing any opposition. So once again, why was Khashoggi singled out in this instance to become such a person of interest to the USA? His status as a journalist and columnist for Washington Post certainly does not answer this question.
And back to Erdogan, the man who reached the cliff-edge with America on a number of strategic and trade issues, why would he be concerned about the “murder” of a foreign journalist allegedly at the hand of his own government? According to the story, the “murder” was committed at the Saudi Consulate, and technically, Turkey has no jurisdiction within this diplomatic precinct albeit it is within Turkey.
The story has been elevated to the level of news headlines even in news breaks. This statement is not meant to either vindicate Saudi Arabia or to justify forfeiting the blood of Mr. Khashoggi, but when the West acts at this level of hypocrisy, something has to be amiss, and the question is what is it?
If we rewind the clock and take into account the timeline of events, this is what we find:
2nd of October 2018. Khashoggi walks into the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul. Unless tampered with, the date is confirmed on the CCTV video presented in this link: https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/middle-east/cctv-footage-shows-jamal-khashoggi-walking-into-saudi-consulate-1.3658494
3rd of October, President Trump, unprovoked, said that Saudi Arabia would not survive for two weeks on its own without American protection and demanded that Saudi Arabia should pay for that protection. https://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2018/10/03/world/middleeast/ap-trump-saudi-arabia.html
5th of October. Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman was quick to respond. In his interview with Bloomberg https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-10-05/saudi-crown-prince-discusses-trump-aramco-arrests-transcript the Crown Prince reiterated that Saudi Arabia has been around since 1744, 30 years before the United States came to existence. The date of 1744 is in reference to the smaller Emirate of Diriyah which was established by Mohamed bin Saud before the King Abdul Aziz expanded his territory to the current borders. In referring to this date, the Prince was saying that Saudi Arabia stood on its own feet before any alliance with America, but he is conveniently ignoring the fact that before any petrol was discovered, external threats were not an issue. In his interview, he later on referred to the Saudi ability to withstand the Obama years, claiming the Obama administration worked against Saudi interests. Though he did not name Syria, he was undoubtedly referring to Syria among other things.
From that day onwards, the sequence of events escalated quite rapidly. As I write this, President Trump is talking about taking severe measures against Saudi Arabia, but not severe enough to cancel the USD 110 Bn arms deal. The mention of the arms deal could well be a hint made by Trump in order to remind the Saudis how reliant they are on America. After all, Saudi Arabia is bogged down in a war with Yemen that it is unable to win even with America support.
Is it by coincidence that in the middle of this kerfuffle Turkey suddenly decided to release American Pastor Andrew Brunson after more than two years of house arrest? Not really; not if we connect the dots.
One logical explanation of the recent series of events lies in the fact that they carry the hallmarks of extortion. As a matter of fact, Trump’s mention of the inability of Saudi Arabia to survive for more than two weeks without American protection is in itself a prelude for extortion. This is the same logic and language used by Mafia bosses with shop owners.
President Trump runs America like a corporation. To him, it’s all about money. Given America’s dire economic position, he will not leave a single stone unturned if it is concealing a single dollar.
Dr. Skidmore from Michigan University argues that USD 21 Tn has gone missing from the coffers of the Ministries of Defense and Housing alone in the years between 1998 and 2015. He speculates that Trump did not know about this when he became president. Revelations of this kind and magnitude make Trump’s task to fix the economy even more out of reach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CwpjIwwI9o&feature=youtu.be
The current situation is reminiscent of an article I wrote back in 2012. https://intibahwakeup.blogspot.com/2013/09/how-far-will-desperate-radical-america.html From this article I quote the following: “The USA is always accused of keeping its hands on the oil resources of the Middle East. For fairness, by-and-large, it is “only” controlling its flow, but still paying for it; albeit in printed money.
A bankrupt, desperate and oil-thirsty USA may feel compelled to threaten oil-rich countries with air-strikes and even nuclear attacks…..
….In an escalated situation, at stage two, an isolated oil-thirsty USA may become tempted to literally steal this oil. The USA may start with easy, close targets such as Venezuela. A desperate USA with a radical President in the Whitehouse will possibly be tempted to take over by force the oil fields of such soft targets. This can be the beginning of a long path of piracy.
How far can this path be pursued is anyone’s guess. The next target can be a puppet state like Qatar, even Saudi Arabia itself.
In such a desperate stage, the USA can only rely on its nuclear supremacy in order for it to be able to force its way. It will not have the financial resources to put boots on the ground, and any ensuing internal strife potentially caused by financial woes will add to the expense and risks of this exercise”.
Even though those words were written only six years ago, a lot has changed in the global balance of power since then and the world is no longer unipolar. With fracking, America is also now less reliant on Saudi oil, but is in desperate need for Saudi money. The diminishing American military power on one hand, and the military rise of Russia and China on the other hand, are forcing America to explore other pursuits. This is why the Trump administration is into the trade sanction mode. But sanctions alone are not enough, and America is likely to be using the Khashoggi story as a pretext to extort protection money from the Saudis; pay up or we will turn the whole world against you.
The Saudis don’t deserve any sympathy at all. They have literally been getting away with murder for decades under the watchful eye of their American big brother and ally. The near future will put the extortion theory to the test. If the Americans and Saudis strike a money-for-protection deal followed by an easing of the anti-Saudi rhetoric, then we will know the theory is accurate and that they are both back in business. They may strike a face-saving deal in which the Saudis do not look like they have succumbed to pressure, thereby paying America in ways that do not carry the label of protection money. But, in any manner in which moneys are paid by the Saudis, they are extortion funds and nothing short of piracy.
So how does Turkey fit into this picture?
Turkey’s economy has suffered greatly after the recent American sanctions and the Turkish Lira went into a nosedive. https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-turkey-currency/turkish-lira-skids-past-5-to-dollar-on-u-s-sanctions-move-idUSKBN1KN28A The impasse between the two NATO allies is multi-faceted and includes opposing views on dealing with very sensitive issues such the Kurdish question, ISIS, Russian presence in Syria, Iran, as well as Turkey’s regional ambition for a resurrected pan-Muslim leadership.
Now, Turkey is not only at odds with America and American policies, but also sees Saudi Arabia as an obstacle that stands in the way of its Muslim leadership aspirations. Turkey sees Saudi Arabia as the Wahhabi rival to the Muslim Brotherhood faction to which Erdogan belongs. So, when the Khashoggi story surfaced, Turkey and America found common interest in being anti-Saudi; albeit for different reasons. To capitalize on the events, Turkey offered a sweetener to the Americans, releasing the American Pastor, Andrew Brunson, making it look like a legal court decision. Turkey expects the world to believe that on such sensitive international legal matters decisions can be made without the approval and directives of Erdogan himself. In the world of politics, pigs do fly.
Both Erdogan and Trump claim there was no deal behind the release of the Pastor, and perhaps there wasn’t but, the Khashoggi incident gave Erdogan an opportunity to take a step towards some type of conciliation with America. But even in the absence of a deal, Erdogan will expect his reward; the least of which would be the lifting of the American trade sanctions. That said, the restoration of the American-Turkish that preceded the war on Syria will have to wait; if that is at all achievable. After all, Turkey has established strong links with Russia and has bought the S-400 ground-to-air state-of-the-art missile systems. But Erdogan hedges his bets on the principle of keeping a foot in each door.
The interesting question to ask here is the following; if this whole drama is indeed a false flag for an extortion process, how is it that Trump is receiving the full support of the American media, his “sworn” enemies, the organizations he calls “fake news”? Is the story too hot for them to resist? Are they a part of the extortion process or, are they totally stupid enough to go with the flow? Alternatively, is the Deep State behind Trump on this one and instructing the media to do the same?
Ironically, the bipartisan American Senate Foreign Relations Committee, headed by Senator Corker, has sent a letter to Trump asking him to investigate the disappearance of Khashoggi and report back to the committee within 120 days. https://www.businessinsider.com.au/republican-sen-bob-corker-believes-saudi-arabia-killed-jamal-khashoggi-2018-10 Does this mean that the Democrats are behind Trump in his anti-Saudi push? They seem to be.
It seems that American lawmakers, media, and the Deep State are all united against Saudi Arabia until it relents and pays up. How Saudi Arabia will manage to weasel out of this trap, if it can, remains to be seen.
America does not have to cancel the USD 110 Bn arms deal with Saudi Arabia. All it has to do is delay deliveries. Ironically, as if the recent developments are not worrying enough for the Saudis, on the 8th of October, the Yemeni Army has made advances into the Saudi territory and any disruption to the flow of American arms to the Saudis can have serious consequences on that seemingly unwinnable war http://www.almayadeen.net/news/politics/908101/صنعاء-تحيي-الذكرى-الثانية-لمجزة-القاعة-الكبرى
Any whichever way, Saudi Arabia has definitely chosen the wrong time to move on Khashoggi, if it did. After all, we don’t really know what happened to him, and we cannot even zero out the possibility that he was kidnapped or killed by other operatives including Americans and Turkish. The media are busy focusing on their alleged attempts to find out what happened to Mr. Khashoggi, how he was killed, what torture was he subjected to, how was his body removed from the consulate etc. We will probably never find out the truth about what happened to him, but what is perhaps more pertinent and conceivable is to establish who benefits from the fall-out and how.
America, and the West in general, never really liked Saudi Arabia. At best, the West tolerated the ultra-conservative undemocratic suppressive kingdom of sand that exported fundamentalism and terror, but this can all change with a stroke of a pen and Saudi Arabia may soon find itself in need of protection from its protector.
“Why would America turn a blind eye to the Saudi killing of thousands of Yemeni civilians and the starving of millions others…[]…and Saudi Arabia may soon find itself in need of protection from its protector.”
Russia ha a suit that would fit https://www.rt.com/business/406116-russia-saudi-arabia-s400-delivery/
“An agreement was reached with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to supply S-400 air defense systems, Kornet-EM anti-tank missiles, TOS-1A systems, automatic AGS-30 grenade launchers, AK-103 [export version of the AK-47] Kalashnikov assault rifles,” a spokesperson for Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Maria Vorobyova told RIA Novosti.
According to business daily Kommersant, the new arms contracts with Saudi Arabia are worth more than $3 billion, $2 billion of which will be spent by Saudis on the S-400. King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud visited Moscow last week, becoming the first Saudi monarch to visit Russia.
Interesting take from voltairenet. However as often in this site. Many assertion with no sources.

“According to our sources, several members of the Saudi Royal Family whose assets were partially or totally confiscated in November 2017 during the Palace Coup, were preparing a plot against the Crown Prince Mohamed ben Salman (known as “MBS”) and Jamal Khashoggi was caught up in this conspiracy.
Turkey had managed to step up a system to bug the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Turkey’s conduct in this instance constitutes a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Although it cannot publish them, Ankara has recordings that contain information, extracted under torture, relating to the plot against MBS.”

I suspect that is it.
The us will not tolerate a pivot to Russia.
Aligns perfectly with Trumps comment.
Suspect possibly kashogi had some involvement or knowledge of plans for US to take out MbS. MbS proved to be unreliable.MbS sending Kashogis handlers a message.
I thought I was the only one who was suspicious of all of this. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out the guy was murdered by the Saudis, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Turkey killed him and pinned it on them, either.
But the global virtue signalling raises too many red flags for me to take this event at face value.
Now, Trump is a buffoon, he doesn’t know history, he has no grasp on world events, not to mention dividing lines in geopolitics (he stood next to the Lebanese prime minister and thanked him for his fight against Hezbollah… the governing coalition partner party, it’d be like thanking Merkel for her struggle against the SPD, ridiculous), he is an idiot by all accounts. I used to think he must be smart despite the buffoonish appearance, he is rich and has many companies, then I found out about the hundreds of revenue streams his father set him up with for life, which allowed him to sink so many companies, go into bankruptcy multiple times and still retain wealth.
Anyway, one theory I have is this: https://sputniknews.com/business/201809221068248823-oil-prices-spike-saudi-iran/ , Trump probably thinks the Saudis are lying to keep the oil price high and get some money for themselves, at the US’s expense. He has been complaining for months about the rising oil price, apparently he is too dumb to figure out he is the root cause of it spiking like that. He wants the Saudis to use their vast oil reserves to flood the market and tank the oil price to damage Iran further, they refuse, thus comes the pressure.
Maybe they want to stop the Saudi-Russia arms deal, the US seem to be allergic to anyone finding out just how good the S400 really is, it could sink every F35 deal when everyone finds out that piece of trash can not only be detected by the S400, but easily shot down as well.
Erdogan is painting himself into a corner though, he said Turkey has evidence to prove Saudi guilt, at one point he will most likely have to deliver on that. I don’t think he has the luxury of the US establishment, pushing hot air for 2 years and have the sheep believe it anyway.
That is an interesting magic trick, to make a man walk into the consulate of another nation, and then to somehow kill or disappear the man while inside another nation’s consulate. I’d love to know how that was done. I wonder if that would fool Penn and Teller?
Perhaps the old Mission Impossible team could pull it off, with their magic masks that transform one actor into another? But it still seems like a tricky trick to try to pull off.
There is footage of him going in, what if there was footage of him walking out and they conveniently withheld it? Do you know that he was killed there? Do you know that he was killed by a Saudi? Do you know if he even was killed at all? No, there are many fingers pointing, many accusations thrown, but little evidence to back up the claims.
I’m no friend of the Saudis, but Erdogan being the deranged lunatic that he is, gets neither sympathy nor credibility from me. It’s his word against theirs and so far, not much else.
Sorry, it is not Erdogan’s word against the Saudis, elementary logic that should be obvious. There is CCTV footage showing the journalist walking into the Saudi consulate. That proof can only be countered by CCTV footage showing the journalist walking out of the consulate alive. The case weighs heavily against Saudi for now.
The false-flaggers seem to be ignoriing the fact that the fiancee was waiting for him outside.
This bit of info doesn’t fit into the ff scenario, so is simply not mentioned and is treated as a nonevent.
Are the false-flaggers suggesting that he was actually trying to get away from his fiancee?
That he begged the Saudis to let him use a backdoor and then not return to his fiancee but instead to disappear from the face of the earth?
Uh . . . not buying that.
Katherine
How much confidence can we have that he was actually the person shown walking into the embassy? If he had been captured already, an actor disguised as him could have been sent in, in order to implicate the Saudis, before leaving after changing his appearance. Has there been an independent check of the number of people entering and leaving the building? Maybe his fiancée was forced to tell this story. We don’t really know. The fact that the world media has been sent down this rabbit hole may be suspicious. Who benefits? So far it looks more like the Turks and Americans than the Saudis, although the arrogant incompetence of the latter cannot be discounted.
I, also, have been puzzled by the whole thing.
Since when do the powers-that-be in the West care about torture and murder committed by their allies?
It made no sense.
Here’s my hypothesis.
This wasn’t just a murder, but a murder of a journalist affiliated with a deep state disinformation platform.
That makes a big difference.
“Information control” is critical to controlling the citizenry. To control information, the deep state needs mass media platforms to do the job. Thus, the torture and murder of an approved-platform-connected-journalist was a very, serious “no-no.” It was something that was not to be done unless it was absolutely necessary. This wasn’t necessary. And MBS is alleged to have broken that unwritten rule.
This is especially important now that the internet is weakening the traditional media’s grip on information control. Look at the “social media purges,” the end of net neutrality, and the “fake news” memes. It has finally registered with the powers-that-be that they are losing their grip on information control and they are striking back.
In light of that I can just see the editorial boards of major newspapers going to their contacts and complaining. I can imagine them saying “you expect us to risk ‘murder and torture’ to push your agenda – do something about this.”
And that is the reason why this has become news.
He is being painted as a Saudi dissident journalist in the MSM but according to stuff I’ve read he was very much a Saudi mouthpiece and well connected to the highest in the regime. He fought alongside bin Laden and worked with the head of Saudi security, Bandar, who was also at one time Ambassador to the US, I believe, and controlled finances for the proxies.
So he would have known where a lot of dirt was buried and there was likely a queue to silence him if there was fear of him talking.
My guess is that this is a pre-emptive silencing that has been seized upon with relief by many different governments to exploit for their own ends.
I don’t for a minute think that anyone gives a hoot about dead journalists or dead anyone else for that matter, that would be a mind-bending first.
You are even more cynical than I am.
Worse yet, you might be right.
“This wasn’t just a murder, but a murder of a journalist affiliated with a deep state disinformation platform. ”
Yes.
I don’t think it is relevant to keep saying that these people don’t care about thousannds of Syrians or Yemenis, so why do they suddenly care about this guy?
Because, he is an approved op-ed writer for the WaPo. There is no comparison between him and thousands of poor slobs in Yemen and Syria. Come on!!
So, I expect the story is more or less as we have been told, and bin Salman, or his henchmen, screwed up badly. He has probably never heard of the WaPo.(I try to avoid the mbs thing–well, I just typed it, but how else to say I think it should be avoided. He is a creepy twerpy clown and should not be dignified by initials a la JFK).
So, Clown didn’t “get” why he couldn’t just off Khashoggi the way he has offed so many others in the KSA.
That’s my take.
Once K didn’t reappear outside the consulate, and the Turks had the videos etc. that I expect they in truth have, the real game began.
Katherine
The Clown had also previously had the nod from Trump to round up, fleece and torture or kill all those Princelings in the Ritz a year ago. He must have been quite shocked at the very different result this extension of the purge has produced.
Something similar happened with Saddam who also under the impression that he got a nod over his invasion of Kuwait.
An element of entrapment, perhaps?
Entrapment comes to my mind also. Many financed Syria’s destruction and it did not gone according to sales pitch. Now someone need to loose their investment. Adding to that is planned attack on Iran as a follow up. It just might be possible that Saudi Arabia will have to pay for losses of the other players involved.
My bet is on aggression first, regime change next. Saudi Arabia is a perfect target. Already waging a war, weak but rich, positioned well for a strike at Iran, holds Muslim holy sites within its borders. Place a puppet and start plundering instead of buying/selling. Score a PR points for stopping a war in Yemen and position themselves to better influence the outcome of situation. MSM must act “surprised”. MIC gets a boost in sales, others get contracts to “rebuild”. US use it to “show”the world its military might. S-400 deal cancelled also. Nod to India afterwards to do the same or else…
That play, i admit, requires quite a bit of reshuffling but are we not already seeing it already? The only question is how will it play out? I do not rule out using such a scenario against Turkey but in that case it will be harder because of proximity to Russia.
Here is another article about the baffling U-turn involving United States foreign policy towards Saudi Arabia.
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-10-17/jamal-khashoggi-where-road-damascus-path-911-converge
“Lindsey Graham has never been more concerned with such “brazen contempt” put forth by the Saudis in connection to the disappearance of Khashoggi? Apparently, for Lindsey, it wasn’t the 3,000 dead on 9/11, and fifteen Saudi hijackers flying planes into the Twin Towers and Pentagon that triggered the end of his Saudi love affair. No, it was Jamal Khashoggi getting killed in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.”
Hmmm, maybe that statement means that Graham knows that the Saudis had little to do with 9/11—that they were basically patsies—and with this stance he is forgetting that he is supposed to believe the official 9/11 narrative and is slipping up by letting on, indirectly, that he doesn’t believe the official narrative.
Katherine
Lindsey Graham was McCains poodle, and McCain loved the Saudis and their money. Since the Kavanough hearings we see a new Graham 2.0 – some say, McCain blackmailed him and this is over now.
The Curse of Assad strikes again. JKhashoggi posted on his facebook a/c this hopeful message from WP:

“Saudi King Salman: No One Can Undermine Strong Ties With Turkey – Reports
MIDDLE EAST
23:04 14.10.2018
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud emphasized the strength of the relationship between Riyadh and Ankara in a telephone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Saudi press agency said Sunday.
According to the Saudi press agency, King Salman thanked Erdogan for welcoming the Saudi government’s proposal to form a joint working group to probe the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and stressed no one could undermine their relationship.”
?????????????
There has been a lot written of late about whether the old King still has faith in the policies of his son? There have been some noticeable splits between them, prominent among them the cancelling of the Aramco IPO which was supposed to fund MBS lavish Vision 2030 plan for restructuring the entire Saudi economy.
The Saudi King and the Crown Prince may not be singing from the same hymnal.
Ah, the conference in Saudi Arabia was about the Vision 2030 and many westerners cancelled it… Were they westerners contacted to work with Saudi Arabia to make the Vision 2030 a reality? Microsoft? Or/and contractors to build the whole thing?
How did the headlines go one long week back …?
“Trump says Saudi King wouldn’t last ‘two weeks’ without US support” etc.
The question is: What else is (or will be) happening behind the MSM smokescreen on USA-KSA-Turkey-Israel nexus that would otherwise risk being damaging or embarrassing news in the lead up to Iran sanctions and US mid-terms etc?
Sure, there is more than likely some big money changing hands to buy silence, but we all know that (a) ” Assad Must Go!”; and that b) “Putin Did It! (whatever it was)” — so, the only question is how etc. /sarc
Btw, how’s that Lebanese ‘KSA’ prime minister going these days? Back on the job?
Don’t worry, Erdogan will find a way to have Constantinople torn from his grip.
Author says, and I quote: “Any whichever way, Saudi Arabia has definitely chosen the wrong time to move on Khashoggi, if it did.”
This may be a key statement in this article. The event may be something like Skripals, Zakharchenko, etc.
Did Soudis’ do it? Possibly, but maybe not. Just as the author said, this event gives external parties an opportunity to apply pressure on the Saudis’ in order to achieve their goals, demands, etc..
I get the Skripal reference, but why mention Zakharchenko here?
Assassination for political reasons, which are not very obvious to us yet.
Well, well, well … I just went to check Syria’ site and Ziad sort of suggests something similar:
https://www.syrianperspective.com/2018/10/the-fifteen-samurai-the-magnificent-fifteen-kiboshniks-all-the-kings-horses-and-all-the-kings-men.html
Hmm
Jamal Khashoggi is the nephew of Adnana Khashoggi the in between arms dealer in the Iran Contra scandal. He certainly is not an innocent journalist. He has posted support for isis.
I wondered whether there was a family connection there. It would give many reasons for many players to want him silenced, if so.
I met a daughter of Adnan’s once and she told me that she was an arms dealer. It didn’t compute for a minute as my first thought was ‘Legs as well? How does that work?’ Then the penny dropped.
Jamal Khashoggi himself was involved in the weapon deals of Adnana Khashoggi, I assume it was a family business. CIA and politicians were also involved, so the Khashoggi family has much material to blackmail the deep state. I think this is the reason why the corporate media cannot bury the story – the Khashoggi family is very upset and want to see heads rolling. George Webb: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQzbhdrCJs8
Thanks Ghassan and Itbah Kadi, for a very intersting article that goes way further than most publications on this subject.
Besides the correct variables, I still have a few bones to chew that puzzle me.
First, the WaPo published a lot of details. They even claimed that American Intelligence knew on beforehand that such a thing would happen.
Now, since the WaPo is about the Public Relations Office of American intelligence agencies, why would they (Intel agencies) leak that to the public?
Second, apparently 15 agents were flown in to handle mr. Kashoggi. Really? Might 2 or 3 not be enough? Can´t they set up a traffic accident anymore? Since the cartoonesk Skripal screwing up by MI5 I grew some doubts about the professionalism; but could it be that a rendition of Kashoggi was meant to happen, but something went horribly wrong?
Last, the chest-thumping of the KSA and USA might be show, but with a sinister dark lining.
The USA wants to control the energy flows in the world, just like the former British Empire controlled the trade sea lanes. The KSA is essential in backing the petrodollar by investing in Treasuries, thereby giving the USA an almost unlimited possibility to create dollars out of thin air, and maintaining an unsustainable debt.
Why would the USA put that at risk?
Thereby, it was amusing to see the USA asking Russia and the KSA to raise oil production, while the soaring oil prices were created by the sanction-addicted USA themselves. Russia reacted with *meh*, and the KSA simply can´t.
It´s rumbling in the KSA. A Vietnam-style war in Yemen, Project 2030 of the clown prince MbS is 20-30 years too late, and a declining oil production with rising water content.
An interesting article about this: https://www.middleeasteye.net/columns/collapse-saudi-arabia-inevitable-1895380679
This shady Kashoggi case is just a thin layer. Imho there is much more at stake.
Cheers, Rob
” he later on referred to the Saudi ability to withstand the Obama years, claiming the Obama administration worked against Saudi interests. Though he did not name Syria, he was undoubtedly referring to Syria among other things.”
I do with the author had explained this a bit more, instead of just tossing it out there and moving on.
Obama was of course very supportive of Saudi goals in Syria, which were summed up in the phrase “Assad must go.” We have had leaked documents for years about how the US under Obama supported the radical Islamist jihadists who wanted to overthrow Assad. The US seemed to be working hand in glove with the Saudis on this project. Recently there have been more documents leaked that say the Americans thought the rebels who really wanted a western-like democracy in Syria were weak and could never do the job, thus laying out the US policy of supporting the jihadists.
The only point where Obama didn’t do exactly what the Saudis wanted was during the false-flag chem weapons stunt that was supposed to lead to US air and missile strikes on Assad. And even then, Obama was in favor of the strikes. But what happened was the Obama wanted the fig-leaf of Congressional approval for such an illegal act by a President. While he was trying to get this, two things happened. One was that the American people started flooding their representatives with messages saying no to yet another regime change war in the middle east. And the other was that the UK parliment also voted against such strikes, and that was the last straw to push a faltering Congress away from giving Obama his fig-leaf. Obama himself was always willing to launch those strikes, and his administration was lobbying within Congress to get such approval.
I guess that MBS is like Netanyahoo in that if he doesn’t get absolutely everything he wants from an American president then he goes into a tissy fit and whines about how unsupportive they are. But it seems like Obama gave the Saudis at least a large portion of what they wanted in Syria.
US Intel law requires US Intel agency to inform target Mr K. It knew and did not act. US Intel law provides that this is ok if it is necessary foe enable a superior project. Evidently US Intel desired the Saudi to do the murder . a stand back and let it happen…like Kuwait and Saddam, or Pearly Harbor.
The project seem to go toward a coup in Saudi and also at midterm elections…as gas price correlates to election results…and these are headed up. Also provides a slug of money to US frackers…
“Any whichever way, Saudi Arabia has definitely chosen the wrong time to move on Khashoggi, if it did. After all, we don’t really know what happened to him, and we cannot even zero out the possibility that he was kidnapped or killed by other operatives including Americans and Turkish” Very interesting article. Could it be that Saudi is no longer useful as ie. support for the ISIS lunatics since they are practically defeated? Could it be that the time “democratize” Saudi has come in the same way as it was for Lybia, Iraq? Which means will end up plundered and destroyed by the Empire. This will be apparent soon.
It might be noted that Erdoğan, like Khashoggi and Morsi, as well as the Qatari regime are Muslim Brotherhood supporters or members. Erdoğan reacted to Morsi’s overthrough in Egypt in a similar manner. Khashoggi has apparently been a supporter of the Brotherhood, as more moderate than Wahabism. Personally, I wouldn’t know the difference. Region carried to extremes is simply that.
Basically, this may be a Sunni-Sunni tiff.

Jared Kushner is Mohammed Bin Salman’s Shabbos non-goy and I wonder if that will create any problems for Trump.

Clown Prince MBS thinks that he can use the specter of an Iranian alliance against the Trump administration ( https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2018/10/14/577020/Saudi-Arabia-Iran-reconciliation-Khashoggi-US-sanctions ) and protect himself from the racket.
The House of Saud is begging around for support ( http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/amp/erdogan-saudi-king-discuss-khashoggi-case-over-phone-137870 ).
Although Saudi Arabia can make a raproachment with Iran, MBS will not be a part of the deal ( https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2018/10/15/577044/Saudi-Arabia-Iran-Yemen-Hossein-Jaberi-Ansari-exclusive-interview ). The House of Al Saud should realize that they need to get ride of the troublemaking teenager, PlayStation Commander Clown Prince MBS.
There is the “crime”, and there is the “extortion”.
The Trump gambit began about “paying for security” of the Kingdom would fall in 2 weeks.
Then there was the crime.
Erdogan was the accuser. He is Muslim Brotherhood, as was the victim. At bottom, with MB members, nothing transcends the Brotherhood. So, Erdogan has leveraged the crime of Prince MBS in his relationship with both the Trump junta and the King (by-passing the evil Prince).
Trump has full court press on the King’s wallet.
And Erdogan willfully is part of the leverage Trump uses.
Trump sends faint praise to Ankara in return for Erdogan’s leverage.
A few months from now, if the Prince survives, this will be blamed on 15 guys (suckers) whose fate will be the same as the original victim, Khashoggi. End of crisis.
The arms sales will move forward. Trump/US will get a plane load of money from the King (reverse of the Obama payment to Iran, ironically).
Erdogan will have a nice relationship for six months with US and Saudi Arabia. Then it will revert to norms of Erdogan is unreliable and a menace to the ME. Kurds will create internal and external problems for Turkey.
But maybe, the interim helps Erdogan fix up his economy. Saudi investment could be his piece of the “fine” paid by the King for his son’s delinquency.
Oil prices will go closer to what Trump wants during the next months.
Saudi will assist the US-Israel launch more terrorism against Iran, and maybe, against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Israel will get more free military assistance from US (its share of the “fine”). Israel always gets its “share”.
This is the Jared commission, an agent’s fee, so to speak. Kushner is in the shadows, note well.
In other words, it’s just a big business deal, This is not about murder, coverup or security.
As the Chinese say about ‘crisis’, it’s an opportunity.
Perfect opportunity for Trump and Erdogan and Israel. Not so much for the King and SA. A downer for MBS. Another win for Jared.
I respect your work and agree with most of the analysis posited in this paper here, however, the $dollar is no longer a petro-dollar, since oil and gas are about 4.5 to 6.5% of the $70 or $105 Trillion dollar global GDP in products and services, making Saudi oil resources, although valuable, less crucial to the international financialization of the global economy denominated in the City of London or International $Dollar. Saudi ‘independence’ that includes the flow and price of oil, its’ aspirations to empire, as well as military contracts with Russia, may be at the bottom of all this; and yet, we can not forget the influence of Israel’s perspective and machinations on the United States Foreign Policy.
Yes, I was thinking on these lines, too. Why is it that nobody thought about Mossad? Don’t they have access to Turkey?
This is a better analysis of the situation than I’ve seen elsewhere.
One good point is we’re relying on the Turks for the narrative of events. Why is anyone trusting the Turks to be telling the truth? I don’t trust them any more than I do the Saudis.
The fact that the media, the Deep State and Trump are all on the same page pretty much proves that this is some sort of Deep State disinformation operation. Trump may complain about being forced to do what the Deep State wants, but he does it anyway because he knows he has no choice.
Everyone needs to stop reacting to a 24-hour news cycle which is completely manipulated. We need to wait until we have something resembling facts and actual actions are being taken by those involved.
Richard, I do not think anyone can and does trust Turks.
Interesting article and speculations.
But, are the authors seriously suggesting that the disappearance is a false flag?
Engineered by the USA?
I hate to be an MSM poodle, but this does seem far-fetched.
Would the Turks state that they have video evidence of what occurred inside the consulate if they did not?
It seems “highly likely” that the Turks had the consulate bugged from the get-go and the Saudis were too stupid to debug before they hatched the “now or never” Khashoggi disposal.
To me they seem stupid enough to fail to consider this possibility.
Or, maybe the CIA bugged the consulate.
What seems more likely to me is Finian Cunningham’s suggestion that Khashoggi “knew too much” about sundry events such as 9/11 and other Saudi-CIA-Mossad secrets (Mossad not mentioned by Cunningham, but probably should be).
By coming down hard on the Saudis now, Trump might be trying to distance himself from them before other s— hits the media fan. There is also now quite a lot of unrest in the USA political atmosphere about the Yemen war.
Katherine
Recall that Trump for many years and during his campaign for the Presidency stated he would find out the Truth of 9-11.
Well, he might have that Truth or not. But, for certain, Trump, nor anyone, will be able to act on the Truth.
It goes far beyond the JFK conspiracy in Dallas and the Bay of Tonkin false flag that begot LBJ his war in Vietnam for 12 years.
This is the 100-150 year Burial of the Truth. The culprits will kill thousands more, not just one journalist, to keep it buried.
So, imagine whatever you might.
This exposure by Erdogan was a plan from the culprits who now have leverage over SA, MBS, the King, and wag the Trump dog.
Who else but Bibi? Bibi and Jared are old bunk mates. Bibi so close a friend to Senior Kushner that he got to sleep in Jared’s bed and the boy slept elsewhere when Bibi was in town.
We have another very simple manipulation of a dope, MBS, who is venal and stupid, and got set up in Turkey of all places. Turkey, where every Intel service has eyes and ears and operations with Kurds, ISIS, al Nusra, and sectors of the Turk’s Intel and Military Russia, Turkey (of course), US, UK, Mossad, et al.
How could this happen in Erdogan’s lap?
It brings Erdogan closer to US (useful in Syria against Russian-Iranian-Assad plans). It weakens MBS and it brings $$$ to Trump and US MIC.
CIA gets great props from this. Trump will trust them and not doubt their lying Daily Briefings.
Trump forgives when Trump makes $$$.
The geopolitical loser is Iran because SA will have to do some rash terrorist work now as part of its penance.
“This exposure by Erdogan was a plan from the culprits who now have leverage over SA, MBS, the King, and wag the Trump dog. ”
Does “culprits” mean 911 culprits or the culprits in the Khash disappearance?
Katherine
9-11 culprits.
In the context of midterms, a cooling of relations and apparent crackdown on KSA by Trump would look good.
The deep state’s interest would likely be to put pressure on KSA to be more obedient to its agenda.
After midterms, I’m guessing it’ll be business as usual between KSA and US, albeit with a more pliable KSA.
First the Saudis’ said Khashoggi strolled out of their consulate building waving bye, bye. Then it was said a ‘rouge element’ murdered Khashoggi …. Shades of Weekend With Bernie?
Now Trump and Salman have their tales coordinated and the fix is in. Some ‘rouge element’ will be rounded up, heads chopped and victory declared. All is well and they got rid of a dangerous person that threatened Trump and Salman …. with the truth? A very pernicious thought today.
I can’t see how a “rogue elements” story can fly when the rogues were ushered into the SA consulate and then ushered out again . . .
Katherine
When telling a lie, make it a good tall story. Trump is excellent at “bigly”.
‘Rogue elements’ fictionalizes it, so it can be consumed by the sheep.
Everyone sees it your way, Katherine. But it will fly if they have nothing better.
‘Lone gunman’, ‘no conspiracy’, ‘look at the squirrel!’ It always works to get to the next big thing.
‘Rogue elements’ is beautiful fiction. 15 of them. Harkens to “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves”.
And they don’t have to down another airliner.
“Everyone sees it your way, Katherine. But it will fly if they have nothing better.”
Not sure what this means—what “my way” means.
Here I am just saying that the facts, or “facts,” as so far presented do not IMO allow for a very credible “rogue elements” narrative. An assassination conducted by unknown hoodlums on a dark streetcorner of a car bomb blowing up would seem to be better candidates for being blamed on rogue elements than a carefully choreographed attentat within the consulate, when presumably the consul or a consular assistant instructed K four days previously just when to return to the consulate. So who is the “rogue” here? .
Katherine
We are treating KSA as a homogeneous entity. Its likely that there is an internal struggle for leadership at present. After all, MbS must have powerful enemies. As Catherine says, some elements within the KSA government must have been involved. But which faction, and with what purpose? And what did the victim know?
Trump may be correct when he said the King denied it. Maybe the King is out of the loop?
1 or 2 ‘rouge’ elements will be identified and allegedly head-chopped while hooded etc.
Meanwhile families of a couple of criminals in the Saudi prison system (e.g., say females that dared to drive a car or something) will disappear and said families will be paid large amounts of ‘blood money’ to STFU.
Shortly there after said rouge elements, with a touch of cosmetic surgery, will be living in a 7-Star Compound “X” along with old Osama bin (here all the time) Laden and friends (& wives).
Now let’s get back to watching the squirrels!
There is something fishy about this murder, but I don’t think this blog has put its finger on it. What is funny in this blog is that it claims that to Trump “it’s all about money”, as if it was unique to Trump. The US government has ALWAYS been “all about money”. Hello! Furthermore, contrary to what this blog states, Venezuela is NOT an “easy target”. Latin America is not the Middle East. There is a brotherhood there with a few shameful exceptions like Colombia. It won’t be easy for the United States to invade Venezuela because most of its people support President Maduro and the United States would face a strong resistance from most of the American continent, even from Latin countries who are anti-Maduro. The blog did not mention that Syria is the main target for oil theft by the United States, and it has its claws on oil rich land in Syria already, guarded by the Kurds. Finally, the West hasn’t “tolerated” Saudi Arabia. The West loves dictators who serve their interests and have a tight control on their population.
“There is something fishy about this murder, but I don’t think this blog has put its finger on it.”
Susan, what do you think of Finian Cunningham’s speculation?
Katherine
If Saudi Arabia is responsible for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi (I wonder if he is part of the vastly wealthy Khashoggi family?).As horrible as it would be,its only one of the many crimes the Saudis have committed (and continue to commit). We’d need a dozen articles to list them all.
For Trump this is a problem. While I agree with much of the article.I think that the democrats “seeming ” to support Trump,is an error. The democrats will use this affair to “attack” Trump for his connections to Saudi Arabia. What looks like their “support” for Trump ,is just a new strategy for attacking him. They know that Trump puts a lot of effort into touting the US economy under his administration. And anything to damage the US economy is a plus for the democrats. The loss of a $110 billion arms deal with the Saudis would be a large hit to the US MIC.Hence the democrats calling for sanctions against Saudi Arabia, and “supporting” a harsh response from Trump is only helping them with attacking Trump.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is reportedly going to produce a report admitting that not only was a Washington Post columnist killed at the consulate building in Istanbul, but also that the murder was the result of an interrogation gone awry.
https://sputniknews.com/world/201810151068912499-saudis-acknowledge-columnist-khashoggi-death-report/
And no body for an inquest perhaps…..
So they came to interrogate him equipped with a bone saw, as you would do I suppose.
Dull article ! Too many words on yet another dead wahabist. Only cool that Saidia Arabia has egg all over the face. The general MSM is howling like a bunch of wolves, he-he , you see their love for their west funded head-choppers. All the Orcs need to go.
Someone wrote:
” US Intel law requires US Intel agency to inform target Mr K. It knew and did not act. US Intel law provides that this is ok if it is necessary foe enable a superior project. Evidently US Intel desired the Saudi to do the murder . a stand back and let it happen…like Kuwait and Saddam.
And an interesting point of view:
http://www.moonofalabama.org/2018/10/khashoggi-burial-negotiations-commence-saudis-will-cough-up-billions-to-settle-the-case.html
” Trump loudly claimed that he personally closed a $110 billion deal in which the Saudis purchase more useless weapons. There never was a ‘deal’, only some non-binding letters of intent.
The Saudis have been reluctant to follow through. They did not pony up the $15 billion for the U.S. made THAAD missile defense systems Trump ‘sold’ them and even talked with Russia about buying the much cheaper and better S-400.”
This could be one of the reasons ( money and low kicking Russia )
Another one ( An US gift to Erdogan to betraying Russia ?! ):
” The Saudi clown prince Mohammad bin Salman will get squeezed like never before. It will cost him billions to purchase the video of the Khashoggi killing the Turkish government claims to have.”
Who knows,we will see!
Thank you so much Ghassan and Itbah Kadi.
Excellent article.

I am absolutely certain, that Saudi Arabia did NOT kill Kashogi!
If they really wanted to kill him, they would have done it anywhere else, but NEVER in their Embassy.
The assassins, could easily, kill him in his hotel, or anywhere on the street, and they could also, disappear in a get away car, and be out of the country in no time.
However, Those who concocted and carried out this crime, knew, that if Kashoggi was killed some”where else, it would be very hard, or even impossible, to prove that it was Saudis who killed him.
They wanted Saudis to be blamed for this murder right away; immediately!
Therefore, it had to committed”, on the ground of Saudi Embassy.
Such plan was just as idiotic, as Theresa May’s “Scripal’s poisoning!
Simply, impossible to believe by any one, — because, — many people knew, that he was going to Saudi Embassy to get some papers or certificate for his planned wedding.
Saudis knew, – that many people knew, that he was going there, and incredibly, regardless, they decided to kill him, knowing that he will be filmed going in??? but not coming out???
The REAL assassins, even say, that Kashoggi’s fiancee was waiting for him outside (for some reason), instead of going inside the Consulate, with her fiance.
Why she did not go inside with him??
If this is true, then, it looks to me, that she was also a part of the plot.
She was assigned the part of a “witness”, that Kashogi went in, but did not come out.
How long did she wait for him? How many hours? Did she go in, trying to find out, why he was not coming out for hours?? Did she??
Anyway, too much to say about those idiots, who concocted such a stupid, absolutely illogical, incredible plan. Just as stupid and incredible as Theresa May’s “Scripal poisoning” story. Just think about it.
Then, Turkey, which is claiming, that they have a video of Kashogi’s torture and murder, regardless of how stunning and incredible is that claim, how it was obtained.
How many days, they sit on that video, and why, before they made that claim.
That would be an interesting explanation to hear.
Makes sense. Saying that, I would never underestimate the arrogance and absolute stupidity of the Saudis
In the vast majority of cases, no person is allowed to enter any consular office apart from the person who has an appointment.
However, your points about the central figure in the melodrama, the supposed fiancée, are very well made.
There are three elements I expected to see being analysed in connection to this affair which are conspicuous by their almost complete absence:
the fiancée;
Qatar and it’s deepening bond with Turkey versus unbridled passion for revenge against Saudi;
and the early October arrest of a large group of “mostly” Iranians in Turkey, on charges of money laundering.
There are additionally too many massive financial aspects for too many players to list.
This melodrama by israel’s neo-lib colonials (zionazi-gay media and pindo aipac gofers pressuring the saudis), vs the neocon bottom dwellers (we cant drop all these cool sales over the death of just one guy) is being orchestrated from tel aviv and represents an effort by the zionazis to influence saudi “wayward” behaviour. Why israeli? When one sees the zionazi-gay make a big feal about something, it means israel is involved in the background. Look at saudi-istaeli relations and saudi relations with israel’s opponents for an understanding why such a big deal was made of this murder when usually little notice would be given.
Has someone asked Theresa May yet if it is “highly likely” that Saudi Arabia murdered Khashoggi? Time for sanctions on KSA! (Yeah right, as if that would happen…).
A non political analysis:
Khassoghi: let us root ourselves in the pure human tragedy of it all. Did Hariri deserve to be terrorized by MBS knowing his family was held hostage? Did Kashoggi with his fiance waiting outside deserve to be brutalized? ( Apple watch stuff is a canard to obfuscate the listening capability of Turkish intel) MBS is a psychopath. period. Who needs to be stopped per Yemen, Isis funding, Wahabism and now this.
The test of the future of mankind will be what is true and what is good and this takes discrimination, wisdom and heart to know where to land on any issue. I, for one, throw out the baby with the bathwater—there is no baby and no bathwater There is only Thou and me and ultimately we are one.
But, ah, that is the rub.
Thank you both for an excellent article.
The near future will put the extortion theory to the test.
Well it looks like the extortion theory is being tested as we speak if this Sputnik report is correct. KSA’s rulers seem to be blinking:
https://sputniknews.com/world/201810151068912499-saudis-acknowledge-columnist-khashoggi-death-report/
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is reportedly going to produce a report admitting that not only was a Washington Post columnist killed at its consulate building in Istanbul, but also that the murder was the result of an interrogation gone awry.”
It goes without saying of course that the King and MBS had no knowledge of the killing as it was done by ‘rogue elements’ within the Wahhabi government. May be true, but I prefer to stick to pigs — as the article says, “in the world of politics, pigs do fly.”
Did somebody mention bone saws in this thread? Well, here’s a bit more from Sputnik:
“… the alleged slaughter was carried out by 15 Saudi operatives flown in to Turkey, and that Khashoggi’s body was disposed of with the aid of a doctor toting a bonesaw…”
But actually all this don’t really matter. As their good friends the Sauds are beginning to find out, if the AZ Empire want to stick it to you, they will; flying pigs notwithstanding
Basil.
The US and AIPAC could also be pressuring the Saudis to endorse Jared Kushner’s plan to “resolve” the Palestinian issue…
This plan has been on the back burner for a good while awaiting the OK from unsympathetic Arab neighbors…
The rogue Saudi King giving instructions to the rogue POTUS after their talks to spin a new rogue narrative that it was carried out by rogue killers entering the rogue Saudi embassy. this rogue story will eventually what will be tailored to make the rogue clown prince go scott free.
And all according to the Plan, of Cecil B. Rogue.
I think the Kadi’s are barking up the wrong tree with this one.
Trump’s involvement in this is because of the midterm elections coming up. Trump is in a major conflict with the media including Jeff Bezo’s Washington Post. At the same time Trump is perceived to be friendly to Saudi Arabia and MBS. That means that this murder (rendition?) could be laid at his door if he did nothing. I believe this is why Trump had to get involved. The Democrats and his Republican frenemies in the Senate may well have been prepared to accuse him of knocking off journalists by proxy, using the Saudis to do it. So he has to take this seriously.
As to his threats against the Saudis i.e they can’t survive two weeks. Do not take that seriously. That is simply Trump’s negotiating style. He does it with every country, even Canada and Mexico. All he wants from the Saudi’s is that they buy more American weaponry, lower oil prices (especially before midterms), prop up the dollar and stock market and invest more in the US economy.
The killing of Kashoggi could have been accidental. They may have intended to smuggle him alive out of the embassy and the country in the diplomatic bag. But he got a heart attack, too much sedative was administered etc. It doesn’t take a team of 15 to kill, but it probably requires that many to kidnap, protect and ship out the victim.
What does trumpy know about 911…
well it all depends on ,”who was sleeping with who last night”,all the players here, including the victim,MBS,turks, neocons, zionists and including the loud protesters re this one killing, are all vile to the bone without exception.
Killing millions ,genocide, famine, war, moderate headings, chemical weapons, arm trades are all kosher in bringing ”peace ,prosperity& development” in their make to MENA for the above mentioned ,it is just business not personal.
Those victims are just faceless figures, the libyans, iraqis, iraninans, palestenians, syrians, russians, christians, arab deaths are ‘worth it’ but spare them the ”we vs them” kool aide mixers who make it all possible by bending the public mind of the sleeping tax payers ,the victim is a SPECIAL class of ‘artists’ of minding.,able to BEND minds to make war possible in the first place.Pen are mightier than swords but it is reserved only for the very few perfumed by the vile players mentioned in the heading.
These people are surrounded by people with bullets and nobody EVER pulls the trigger on them…
You get me pham…

The Plan To Empty MBS’ Pockets & Partition Saudis – Morris
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot7jKtqVVKw
Hmm, Jamal K and Dodi Fayed had the same grandfather, per this fellow Morris.
Whom I have never heard of.
So, that makes them cousins, right?
Morris alleges that 90 % of Brits think that the accident in the tunnel was an assassination, with the purpose of preventing a Muslim from marrying into the royal family.
If Fayed and Diana had married, I don’t think he would thereby have become a member of the royal family.
But, close to the heir to the throne. Stepfather of the heir to the throne. It is not hard to see that something might hve been very wrong with this picture for a lot of people.
And, now that we are more comfortable with the idea of remotely controlling a vehicle—or a plane— to eliminate someone, the crash in the tunnel (conveniently in a tunnel!) does seem like a *possible* remotely controlled event . . .

The Bloomberg interview was on the 3rd, they held it back until the 5th. They’re all working in unison together.
Note the date on the caption:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-10-05/saudi-crown-prince-discusses-trump-aramco-arrests-transcript
In the transcript the Bloomberg reporter asks about Khashoggi less than 24 hours after his disappearance.
Also note this op-ed from WaPo, published on the 3rd also again less than 24 hours after his disappearance. The journalist speaks as if the event had occurred days earlier.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/global-opinions/wp/2018/10/03/the-silence-of-jamal-khashoggi/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.ed3ec622fa3b
“In fact, on the day of his disappearance, I was about to WhatsApp him to talk about ideas for his next op-ed in The Post.”
“We have inquired about Jamal’s whereabouts, and expressed our deep concern, to both Turkish and Saudi officials.”
So in less than 24 hours WaPo had already assumed the worst and contacted Turkish and Saudi officials? Very strange.
Reminds me of 9-11, when the newscaster was talking about the fallen second tower BEFORE it fell. Foreknowledge.
The `journalist´in question took up arms with Bin Laden as a young man in Afghanistan. He encouraged violent jihad. He worked with Saudi Intelligence. He ended at WAPO. CIA start to finish. He was on the wrong side of a palace coup, on the CIA/democrats side. The prince he worked for funded HRC (25% of her campaign funds) was also on the losing side. Of course the legacy media/CIA is going to howl.
Gruesome allegations by Yeni Safak media on #Khashoggi:
• Saudi Consul General asked hit team to execute to murder outside the building.
• In return he was threatened with death
• Hit team told the Consul that he needs to be silent if he wants to be alive back in Saudi Arabia
Gruesome allegations by Yeni Safak on #Khashoggi:
• first #Khashoggi’s fingers were cut off during the torture
• They listened to music as they worked, which isn’t very Wahhabi

It gives a new meaning to Rest in Pieces…
RIP Khashoggi!…
The events–or should I say story line– in Istanbul made me think about Sibel Edmonds’ spy thriller, The Lone Gladio, a book I read and promptly forgot. The genre is not one I had read before, save for a couple of books by Eric Ambler that were recommended to me. In no way did those works prepare me for what I found. The brutality was extreme, and the milieu alien because of the brutality. I was not sure if she were writing about what she knows, albeit in fictional form or if reflects what those types of books are like nowadays. I have since gotten some Dean Koontz and Steven King under my belt and while fairly certain that there is Pentagon input in both of those authors’ work, I am still at a loss at where to place Edmonds’ work.
Getting back to the event itself, I will say that it is a big deal, if only because it is touted a big deal.
