Dear friends,
My bad. I screwed up. The recent article by Scott “Cat Motja on Motorola and Ukraine in simple human language” should not have been published, at least not in its current form.
I removed it along with the (predictably) divisive comments section.
The responsibility is entirely mine and I apologize to everybody.
The Saker
Now that’s going to set the cat amongst the pigeons.
glad to have a Saker above
That’s fine – everyone makes mistakes and we are mere mortals. However, please do me a favour and do try not to use “My bad”. I used to be an English teacher, and this phrase absolutely grates on my ears. It demeans the language.
Missed it
Thank you Saker.I think that was the right decision. It highlights the integrity of your Blog, that we all have always seen.
@Uncle Bob 1,
The Wayback Machine has a capture of the article, with your comment.
I think the comment was pretty good, shall I repost it to this thread?
(Not being Russian, I find Motja’s essays incomprehensble, even in translation)
(And no, I shall not post the Wayback link)
No thanks,I appreciate the thought. But Saker deleted the article and comments because of the contents of the article. So I think it would be wrong to reprint comments from it.
Fair enough, I’ll let it go. It was a good, insightful comment.
I still have no idea what to think of Motja. He’s different, and thought provoking, that’s for sure.

My head is still buzzing from the hall of mirrors we were presented to in that article. So I am glad you pulled it, but only if there is a solid reason for that.
If there is a kernel of truth in what was said, I hope Scott and the Cat can iron out the wrinkles and give us the essence of it in a more convincing form.
Good grief!(The retraction announcement did not need comment) (dg)
Exactly, the for many out of the blue article certainly had/has a point about how the whole thing started (the British Empire & its agencies wanted chaos/war in Ukraine), and there might’ve been some traitors, and some might’ve been used, fooled into doing certain things at the start. But it doesn’t matter much anymore now. The overwhelming majority of the fighters of Donbass are – no matter what – heroic fighters for Novorossiya, who should be helped, protected, and organized by (and coordinating with) the rest of the Russian Empire.
Saker: “I removed it along with the (predictably) divisive comments section.”
The article was the divisive element. The comments were predictable, yet many were very supporting of some commentaries.
Mainly, or all in all, the Cat became roadkill.
Good decision, thanks. What made me enraged was that all those videos and phone conversation were taken from the Ukrainian Security force(СБУ),which immediately makes them unreliable as a source.

Such fakes are typical Western PSYOP to demonize Russia.

Not the Cat. Definitely not the Cat.
Integrity. Agree to disagree. Revolutions face the same challenges.
The honest pursuit of truth is placed, in importance, lesser than the warm wooly blanket of platitudes.
So the truth (for which this beating heart was briefly stopped, this body relegated to a 4-hour coma) loses this round.
I trust the Saker to ultimately defend the safety and integrity of the truth tellers, and the truth seekers. So knock the truth into a 4 hour coma this time. Ultimately, awakening can’t be destroyed.

Glad to see this article gone. it was disrespectful towards “Motorola”, and people of Donbass above all. I am convince that Cat Motja works for f***ing as***le Soros.
Is Scott a friend or a foe?
I hope he’s just a “Translator lost in translation”. We still wait for his explanation.
There are possibilities that some commentators have pushed him to do “Soros’s evil deeds”, they could be foes.
Pretty sad so see so many narrow minded people here that cant stand an alternate perspective without crying out for censorship
Oh please. The article was very thought provoking, controversial, yes. But if you’ve read any of Cat’s other articles, you would know that the Soros accusations are ridiculous.
Really weird article, that one.
What would be the right form? The cat is out of the bag now…
Some explanation would be great.
You can still read the article. It’s cached on Google.
Couldn’t find it.
Stand-up comedy like America hasn’t seen before.
Donald Trump viciously attacks Hillary at the Alfred E. Smith Dinner (Oct 19). Brutal!
(15min)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmQzQbJ82jM
Since your apparently OT comment is here, I will say that you hit the point: Comedy!
Look at the fact that they go dining together, in the “Waldorf Astoria”, they joke amongst themselves, attack each other even ,as you say, in a brutal way, and nobody seems very touched, doesn´t it?
They, those billioners in the “Top of the Hill”, they continue having a good fun, while people die, is slaved or sent to misery in millions in every corner of the world.
Notice also the presence, in the front line, and as well having so much fun, of a cardinal…..
At least, they, some, including the cardinal, sweat a bit, perhaps some remaining sense of shame or, perhaps is it only that the “Waldorf Astoria” climatization system is a crap?
Anyway, whatever the reason, neither “The Donald” nor “The Hillary” sweat even slightly……
In what form that article should have been published ?
I went to the effort of finding the original article and reading it.
The article was not very interesting, but it was followed by a long comment about Russia by Uncle Bob 1 which was excellent and which taught me a lot.
I respectfully ask that Uncle Bob 1’s comment below the article be added to this thread, since it contains nothing disturbing, but only some good, helpful insights about Russian politics and difficult situation in Novorussia. Thanks.
I went to the trouble to pass several hours posting trying to demonstrate and debunk the shameful lies poured on that article, which only could benefit one side, the Ukriainian Nazi junta and certain oligarchs losing their interests because of that people rised up there.
As a result I earned a great back pain, but worth it, when I went to bed after doing all what I could for to clean the memory of our just died hero and many others and so, I would like to have the article recorded, but after several searching no success. If smeone could indicate me how to find it I would be greateful.
Anyway, I feel a bit of relief in seeing that The Saker found it innadecuate, only, along with Ana, I wonder in what other form that article could have been published…..and, anyway, the damage could well have been done, since, as was stated once by the very “Auslander”, “this site is monitored and read by all the intelligence services everyday, 24 hours”, and so they have for sure taken note.
Since I am not able to find the article by Scott anymore, I went to the original in this “Cat Motja” site and, despite the bad translation by google, after reading all the comments, several short and thanking him , as were most of the anonymous here ( obviously, for me, Ukroptrolls ), but some still doubting and an interesting one ( since I fear that the main audience of this “Cat” is of certain sign ) pointing at the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov.
It is in the interests of this oligarch that I fear these things are done, but the way that article was accepted as “acceptable” here by some must tells us a lot.
I must recall that in the article also was demonized Vladimir Soloviov, if I am not wrong the conductor to whom Mr. Putin gives always exclusive interviews, and have been always presented before us by The Saker a a patriot…..
elsi, I have a long comment by you saved, but I don’t know if it is the comment you are looking for. Also, I don’t know how to transmit it to you.
It includes the words, “It was not anywhere but here where I knew about Mozgovoi, Givi and Motorola, because I had no other means, since I do not understand nor I am able to read Russian.” (4th paragraph)
and, “For me, this is the people who counts. And for having had the opportunity of meeting this kind of people, I will remain always thankful to this blog,…” (12th ? paragraph). It also refers to someone “based in Canada.”
If that seems to be the comment you are looking for, perhaps the moderators can help me to get the full text to you. I have just emailed it to them.
No, it was all the thread what I wanted to conserve, because I linked there and, even took the trouble to translate, some articles, which, IMO, were throwing light in the directions of why there are people interested in criminalizing now the resistance in Donbass.
Those anonymous defenders, and some with their nicknames, of the thesis of Cat Motja, thesis supported here also by Scott, did not provide anything which could back these thesis unless their prise of Cat Motja´s words, and the fact the Scott brought them here. That´s also the reality of this Cat Motja site´s comments section, since I took the trouble of translate all the comments section from Russian, as I have stated before.
I think those articles linked and translated by me, at the same time, could give them, people and fighters in Donbass, hope, in a moment when one of their most charismatics commanders has been assassinated and, if it were not enough, slandered.
I think also that it is not enough with erasing the whole thread, but also that a good explanation is due.
Comrade, I received the comment of mine you saved.
Thank you very much for your support.
If I could would wish inviting you to some beers in a pub but since by now we have only this mean of contact I left you some music from my mother’s land which perhaps you could enjoy and feel:
For you, and all the people really fighting fascism throughout the world and all the heroes died or alive:
https://youtu.be/EQlcdrhAz64
I do agree with you about the comments… Not all for sure.
But one thing that make me came to here was the search for reasons…And the answer is in history.
From a Brazilian perspective, it’s really hard to get to the facts since the lack of sources in Portuguese language.
So every little comment with little history, even if not true(lol), helps a lot.
About the article, I think is HARD to keep everyone on same direction. And even harder to forget old thinking. New generations think differently. That’s necessarily mean that the old think old.
I do like Cat! Because makes the moral high but there must be limited by the “new” world thinking.
That imperial talk have no place in BRICS and must be avoided no matter what!
I’m saying this because Im still dreaming about Brazil’s liberty and the moral victory is the ONLY way! Because the brainwash is done-
Sorry about my english folks.
To Zico, your English is quite good enough for me to understand. Please continue to comment with your perspective from Brazil. It is valuable for us native English speakers to read. We here tend to be preoccupied with events in Ukraine and Syria, but the American Empire continues to cause disruption and destruction in many other countries too, including Brazil. I, for one, am very pleased to see so many commenters here for whom English is not their first language. It makes reading this web site very informative and rewarding.
On Motorola
The murder of the heroic Donbass fighter Motorola – Arseny Pavlov- demands a response
This murder is a tragedy. Motorola was a hero of his time and will always be remembered, not only by the people of Donetsk and the Donbass, but by people all over the world who grew to love and respect him for his bravery and courage.
God Bless Motorola.

Givi not leaving the DPR
on: October 24, 2016
Ukrainian Mass Media is taking today, on October 24 with reference to posts in social networks of Valeriy Gratov about a commander of the battalion of DPR Armed Forces Mihail Tolstyh, more known by his signcall Gicvi is selling his property and taking his close people to Prednestrovie.
To check the data, edition of Novorossia Today connected Givi.
‘I do not comment such nuisance, I do not have property, I have nothing to sell. And, unfortunately I do not have a girlfriend at the moment. I stay here, I am a commander, and I will not leave motherland’, Givi said.’
http://novorossia.today/giviis-not-leaving-the-dpr/
sensible person.
If you want more proof on that there is a whole campaign in discrediting, apart from assassinating if they have the opportunity, of the most charismatic commanders of the Donbass militias, with the aim of demoralize people and army in front of a more than probable new offensive.
Campaign with which some in this blog have colaborated widely.
“Motorola won even in death”
https://slavyangrad.org/2016/10/22/motorola-won-even-in-death/#more-7712
Moving article on last good bye to “Motorola” in Donetsk. Included moving images of his comrades, desperate widow and older son, Daniel, 9 years old, porting the star of “Hero of DPR” in tears.
There is also some testimonies of the Donetsk people about what they think about him and a video.
I will link the original article appeared at Komsomolskaya Pravda which includes the video of the burying and statements of his comrades of fight, some of them clearly moved almost to tears, even being tanned marines.

I think that all this give an idea of the great soldier and person Arsen Pavlov was.
I would lay off the catnip if I were you to avoid anymore feline faux pas
Well, that is decent of you and I appreciate somebody doing that. Well done. Motorola and the entire Donbass militia are amazing. If your read guerrilla warfare discourse, what they achieved in two years is incredible. Mao commented that such maturation would take a dozen years or more. I guess when you have a pressing desire to win, and to be left alone it does wonders for your determination and ability to learn from you mistakes!

Yes,also remember the people were facing extermination. And most Ukrainian (and Russian) men had service in the military (as they had/have a conscript military). And so had/have a level of military training already. And many of the fighters had seen service in the past in the Soviet army.Only some of them were totally untrained in military matters. That helped a great deal in the beginning stages. As well as many serving Ukrainian military defected to them.Especially those from Donbass. And anti-fascists from other Ukrainian regions.

Don’t have time to read all comments yet – saving them to read later – but the Saker community pretty much ended up making mince meat of that post, so no serious worries here it seems. RIP Motorola
