Saudi Arabia is going through a major internal political crisis the likes of which has rarely been seen.
A missile gets fired on the Saudi capital. A missile, which was allegedly built in Iran and smuggled to Yemen, just to be fired at Saudi Arabia.
According to initial reports, two Saudi princes died back to back in 24 hours: one in an “accidental” helicopter crash, the other during a firefight that broke out while security forces were trying to arrest him. On November 7, Saudi Arabia’s information ministry spokesman said that “Prince Abdulaziz is alive and well”. However, the prince could not be independently reached for comment by the media.
Other high-ranking members of the establishment and the royal family — the two tend to be one and the same in Saudi Arabia — get arrested on charges of corruption, with their bank accounts frozen.
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri unexpectedly resigns after he was summoned to Riyadh by his Saudi-backers.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia accused Iran of conducting acts of “direct military aggression” and accused Lebanon of “declaring war” on Riyadh by allowing Hezbollah “aggression” against the kingdom.
All this happened in a span of just a few days.
With ever-growing security challenges and problems at the regional level, the crisis that took hold of Saudi Arabia does not seem to be slowing down.
One contributing factor to the ongoing crisis is a major split in the Saudi royal family: the power struggle that resulted in the former crown prince being deposed and replaced with a new one, a move that shook things up quite a bit inside the country. The echo of this can be seen in the current “anti-corruption” persecution, enforced by the current Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
Outside the country, several key foreign policy projects failed: the effectiveness of the Yemen intervention can be judged by the fact that it resulted in a missile being fired at Riyadh. Bashar al-Assad is still in power in Syria. The attempts to scare Qatar into submission backfired, as Qatar has been getting more and more friendly with Russia, Turkey and Iran.
Iran is gaining more and more influence in the region, while the Saudis seem to be losing it, hence they are trying to compensate for their losses by participating in proxy wars elsewhere.
The Saudis also tried to flex their diplomatic muscle. King Salman even visited Moscow, where the two sides exchanged promises with no guarantees that these will ever be fulfilled. This also backfired, as some considered it a demonstration of weakness or an attempt to make peace by making concessions.
Add economic struggles to this series of failures, and one can see why the King’s and his Crown Prince’s position seem less and less stable by the minute. The situation apparently seemed so dire, that in order to keep everything afloat active persecution seemed the only possible way to keep the King and his successor in power. The “anti-corruption” campaign is just an excuse: the corruption has always been high in Saudi Arabia, and no one batted an eye before now.
These are temporary measures.
Persecution can hardly solve foreign and internal matters, and it will not lead to a solution of the problems. Right now, the kingdom’s leadership is desperately in need of an enemy to unite the population and draw their attention away from the chaotic events that unfolding in the country.
A warlike rhetoric against Iran, Lebanon and Hezbollah are a clear sign of this. While Iran is a potent regional power in military and diplomatic terms, Hezbollah is a non-state actor. So, Riyadh may choose the group as an enemy for its risky foreign policy undertaking. Saudi Arabia and Israel are obvious allies in their will to destroy Hezbollah. On November 5, Tel Aviv started the largest-ever aerial exercise in the history of Israel. A leaked diplomatic cable confirmed that the Saudis and Israelis are coordinating their efforts against Iran and Hezbollah thus escalating the already tense situation in the Middle East.
The region may be heading for another large-scale military conflict.
“Analysts blame this on the pressure Washington is putting on Riyadh, for reasons that have as much to do with the currency market as the oil market. And the pressure coming from Washington is, in turn, a response to the pressure also being exerted on Riyadh by China, which wants to buy oil from Saudi Aramco in renminbi instead of dollars. China is currently the world’s biggest oil importer, knocking the US out of its former first-place position. China is also the Saudi oil industry’s biggest customer, and Beijing does not want to pay extra for that black gold using American currency. A number of oil exporters that sell to China have already partially or entirely transitioned to settling their accounts in renminbi. Topping that list are Nigeria and Iran. Russia has also recently begun to sell some oil to China for renminbi (although only small percentage as yet).
Saudi Arabia, however, is heavily dependent on the US and has thus far refused to settle its accounts in renminbi. And that rebuff is costing the country dearly: Beijing is gradually finding other suppliers to take Riyadh’s place. The Saudis used to be China’s biggest foreign supplier of oil, but recently Russia has squeezed them out for that number-one spot. If this continues, Saudi Aramco might lose its Chinese market altogether.”

Iran will regret not pursuing a nuclear weapons program since Saudi Arabia in partnership with Israel and key Arab allies (Egypt, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain and Jordan) are now ready for war. The Islamic Republic will be sent back to the stone age with the destruction of the country’s nuclear and strategic infrastructure, and total chaos will prevail in Iran for many years as a result of this military campaign.
Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir stuck the knife into Iran on Thursday
He hailed Trump’s decision to tear up the nuclear agreement , saying it was ‘weak’ and calling for more ‘robust’ action over Tehran’s weapon programme
Jubeir also called for more sanctions against the country for ‘supporting terror’
His call comes amid heightened tensions in the region and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s attempts to reform the country

seems to me this most untrustworthy foreign minister is either acting opportunistically, or behind the lines continuing his ani-Assad meme whatever way he can……………
I sincerely hope that Prince Salman does not do anything foolish like attacking Iran, as that would end in a catastrophic defeat for Saudi Arabia. It is true that his military is strong on paper, but in reality it is nothing more than the Saudi equivalent of the Praetorian Guard, which guarded Rome and it’s emperors. The chief task of the Saudi military is protecting the royal family, while protecting the country comes second. Worse, a military conflict with Iran would most probably cause internal strife, as the Saudi military has divided loyalties between the various princes. What is possible is a joint attack by Saudi Arabia, Israel and the US against Iran. However, the repercussions on the international field would be tremendous, including repercussions in Europe, which has trade relations with Iran, and which it does not wish to lose. In such a scenario the Saudi military would be the weak link, as it’s performance in Yemen was very poor. Worse than this scenario would be a Pentagon decision to launch a double attack against both North Korea and Iran. Should such an insane decision really be enacted, then the question is how Russia and China would react. I don’t see them sitting by idly. Unfortunately, everything revolves around money. The US has a gigantic foreign and domestic debt, while the dollar is printed backed by nothing. China has revealed it’s intention of introducing the petro-yuan, while both Russia and China are preparing to introduce gold backed rubles and yuans, which would terminate the dollar as the worlds reserve currency. Worse for the bankers, the Eurasian Economic Union is in the making. Analysts have for years been warning that the US cannot permanently control its immense foreign and domestic debt, and that the whole financial system will in the end come crashing down. Taking these factors into consideration, the bankers might be tempted to make a last desperate attempt to launch a wide war in order to stimulate the economy and prevent the introduction of the petro-yuan and the Eurasian Economic Union, which in fact is an old banker trick every time they find themselves in difficulties. However, analysts have also, for years, been warning that this old trick cannot work any more. We shall see what happens, especially after Trump concludes his Asian tour, where I don’t see him achieving much. Should the elite in the US decide on a wider war, then they better be prepared for the consequences, including the potential break up of both NATO and the EU.
“… the dollar is printed backed by nothing.”
Except the Petrodollar is backed by oil, and trading oil in dollars is backed by the military-industrial complex. Any kind of useful good or service can be used to back money, and not having one’s country ruined by a war or color revolution is a very useful “service.”
“… launch a wide war in order to stimulate the economy and prevent the introduction of the petro-yuan and the Eurasian Economic Union, which in fact is an old banker trick…”
Exactly, B.F. When Major General Butler warned us that “War is a Racket,” it is most like an extortion racket. The banksters’ problem is that an extortion racket is only as good as its enforcers, and the inherent disadvantage of lying people into all these conflicts is finally starting to catch up with them. They need bigger wars; otherwise, the dystopian empire will fall apart anyway. In reality, the Saudis have been working on the banksters’ bigger wars for a while now, such as through the Syrian chemical false flags or the provocation proxy war in Yemen.
break up of both NATO and thw EU might not be as bad as it sounds.
Here’s what I wrote about the “Red Prince”:
“The “Red Prince” Mohammed Bin Salman is trying to do the seemingly unthinkable — modernize Saudi Arabia through an anti-feudalist “revolution” — but he’s going to face a lot of resistance every step of the way, and his possible failure would inevitably doom the Kingdom to future destruction.”
http://theduran.com/feudalism-future-red-princes-revolution-modernize-monarchy/
I have read your article titled ‘From Feudalism To The Future:…’ in The Duran, and I agree with you. Having lived several years working in Riyadh, and aware of the many problems you highlighted and others, I also believe that MbS is trying to ‘save’ the kingdom from itself before it is too late. He may not survive; but, I am following what is happening there and I hope that he succeeds. It is such an astonishing ‘revolution’ – in compass with amazing world changes – that I also believe that Putin and Xi are behind it!
This Prince Salman does not know what he is doing. Proof: His incompetence by starting a war with Yemen is one and allowing the persecution of Shiites in his realm is another . He can only buy off the army so long unless, of course, like the Ukrainian high command its paycheck comes from Langley in which case we know who is running the current game plan.
We need not to be herded into forming opinions too hastily like what I saw happen during the events in Catalonia. The folks at Infowars think Salman is an anti globalist hero . These are folks who are actually blind when it comes to understanding the role of the Zionists in the midEast and they think Hezbollah is a terrorist organization.
So relax. More will be revealed. There are hidden forces at work here and they all have a master plan.
That disinfo rat hole Al spews off from is one big psy-ops of intrigue & propaganda lies.
I mean that in the far wider sense than just his bunker; i mean the whole city.
Friedman (formed STRATFOR, but has handed that off a few years ago, on to another project) & also the shadowy Steve Jackson, he of the 1990’s book of dirty tricks & FF “playing card deck” also from there.

Yeah. Fred’s probably right. Austin: “Langley in Tex-Ass” …..works for me as a working hypothesis.
Especially if George HW checked in there for instructions before taking up his assigned position on the steps of the Dallas Public Library Nov 22, 1963…….

Markets indicate turmoil in the oil producing ME countries. The western MSM is all radio silence re the current turmoil in ME. KSA just announced that all KSA citizens leave Lebanon immediately. Israel is in the middle of concentrated diplomatic effort to sugar-coat MBS power grab. IMO war is coming over the Cypress beach but this is only the pretext for starting war with Hezbollah and Iran. US is keeping its mouth shout and this is the most frightening. I think that because of the lost war in Syria the ZioEmpire is now aware that if they don’t stop Iran/Hezbollah now they won’t be able to stop them ever. And this is why all those gymnastics are taking place since the last weekend. Maybe tomorrow (10Nov2017) DonniBoy and Vladi will have some serious talk and this whole ME situation will be used as leverage but there is very high possibility that in fact a war (something like 2006 re-do) against Lebanon will be started during the weekend.
God bless the Lebanon people, they have suffered enormously in the hands of ZioEmpirialist. Maybe it’s time for the wrong doers to pay their dues and Lebanon be finally free of the dead grip of the TPTB.
Attack Hb and involve Iran in Saud/Ir war and then Iran closes Hormuz…is among other things a threat to Europe, as Eu economy would crash,,,US tankers of Ru oil and gas then come to rescue,,,what could go wrong?
Is intelop to leverage obedience in occupied Eu…
Ivan and Chin may possibly not permit this Glorious Plan…a plan to stop time, to postpone the revolution.
Meantime Max and Stacy on RT actually contribute to this matter, in episode of this day, 9 Nov, and the immediately previous episode…with Comrade Hudson aboard!
Pax
Didn’t Europe get along fine (or well enough) without Iranian oil when Iran had sanctions?
not Iranian oil…all oil all gas more or less enough to smash econ…comes by boat in large measure
Hormuz see map

I see no war in Lebanon.
The sudden uptick of anti-Hezbollah, anti-Iran rhetoric by the usual suspects provided the smoke screen needed as a cover for a smooth palace coup in Saudia Arabia. Mission accomplished.
MBS – happy
Trump – happy
Bibi – happy
Kushner – happy
but for how long? : )
From the suburbs of Beirut, a very lively and eloquent Marva Osman spills some inside knowledge on MBS’ surprise palace coup. This lady is quite something, highly recommended.
