‘The Constitution is not a suicide pact’ – but it is nearing that deadly threshold in a number of ways: federal debt, unchecked immigration, but most existentially in a lunatic foreign policy.
In its relations with Russia and China especially, but also with regard to Iran, North Korea, and others, the diplomatic/military/intelligence apparatus in Washington City seems driven to ignite dangerous international conflagrations.
Dr Paul Craig Roberts, no stranger to the inner workings of the Deep State, put it rather starkly recently:
‘NATO officials have thumbed their noses at Putin’s concern with Russia’s security. Trump’s National Security Advisor and neocon warmonger John Bolton encourages more provocation of Russia, which as Putin has made clear will result in war.
‘Clearly as 2021 comes to an end, there is no intelligence to be found anywhere in the Western World as all vie to show how tough they are with Russia.
‘When Putin says Russia has nowhere left to which to retreat, he is telling the idiot West that Russia has reached the extent of its ability to avoid war. “We simply have no room to retreat” means Russia has done all she can do to avoid war and now the Americans must get off Russia’s doorstep.
‘Putin is relying on Biden to show awareness and responsibility and to work for peace by acknowledging Russia’s legitimate security concern. But what if Biden is just a figurehead, and the shots are called by the military/security complex who will go for profits despite the risk that Putin will not back down?
‘What if Washington’s concern is limited to destabilizing Russia in the interest of US hegemony and Russia’s security is precisely what Washington intends to undermine, not secure.
‘ . . .
‘2022 could . . . be the year the Western world comes to an end in nuclear war.’
Is it any wonder why so many countries in the world now despise the US?
But this could not be further from the traditional Southern approach to foreign policy.
US Senator Fulbright of Arkansas gave expression to it in some remarks of his during the Vietnam War:
‘If America has a service to perform in the world and I believe it has it is in large part the service of its own example. In our excessive involvement in the affairs of other countries, we are not only living off our assets and denying our own people the proper enjoyment of their resources; we are also denying the world the example of a free society enjoying its freedom to the fullest. This is regrettable indeed for a nation that aspires to teach democracy to other nations, because, as Burke said: “Example is the school of mankind, and they will learn at no other.” . . .
‘There are many respects in which America, if it can bring itself to act with the magnanimity and the empathy appropriate to its size and power, can be an intelligent example to the world. We have the opportunity to set an example of generous understanding in our relations with China, of practical cooperation for peace in our relations with Russia, of reliable and respectful partnership in our relations with Western Europe, of material helpfulness without moral presumption in our relations with the developing nations, of abstention from the temptations of hegemony in our relations with Latin America, and of the all-around advantages of minding one’s own business in our relations with everybody. Most of all, we have the opportunity to serve as an example of democracy to the world by the way in which we run our own society; America, in the words of John Quincy Adams, should be “the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all” but “the champion and vindicator only of her own.” …
‘If we can bring ourselves so to act, we will have overcome the dangers of the arrogance of power. It will involve, no doubt, the loss of certain glories, but that seems a price worth paying for the probable rewards, which are the happiness of America and the peace of the world.’
US foreign policy for the last several decades bears little resemblance to the Southern ideal of prudent restraint and peaceful, mutually beneficial relations with other countries. Southrons need to ask themselves just how they are benefiting from the policies being promoted by both Republicans and Democrats:
From sanctions that impoverish the innocent populations of various countries;
From drone strikes that kill hundreds of non-combatants;
From non-governmental organizations like the National Endowment for Democracy that serve as front groups for the CIA causing revolutions in northern Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, etc.;
From the promotion of the LGBT ideology in socially conservative countries like Uganda and Poland where Christianity still has some hold on the public consciousness;
From bellicose language from scalawags like Sens Cotton and Wicker who never miss a chance to stoke war fever with other countries.
Southerners do not benefit one iota from any of that. Yet because of the Yankee propaganda pumped into the South through school textbooks, talk radio, the Heritage Foundation, etc., that the US is the City on a Hill, the indispensable nation chosen and anointed by God to rule the world, she does not object too loudly (if at all) and actually serves in numbers disproportionately higher than her percentage of the total population in the US military.
Prospects for reforming Washington do not look too good. Typically, anyone who tries is either killed (like JFK) or beaten into submission (like Trump). The best option for the South is to leave Washington and its Deep State bureaucrats to their own devices and to develop a foreign policy that serves the people of Dixieland and represents her tradition-friendly culture, one that is not in service to the cartels of Big Ag, Big Pharma, the military-industrial complex, and so on.
The insanity that has gripped Washington, one that does not rule out a first-strike using nuclear weapons, is a danger to the South in the most basic sense of that word – a threat to life itself.
The South needs to separate herself from Washington’s madness, expel lunatics like Sen Wicker from office, and send out diplomats who exude both Southern friendliness and trustworthiness, but also hard resolve, to the countries of the world, whether friendly or unfriendly to us at the moment, to cultivate productive relationships, to secure us from the ill-will that the Yankee mindset has attracted to all 50 States. Whether it is countries with a Southern diaspora like Brazil or a more isolated, insular place like Japan, the South would be far better off with a President, diplomats, etc., who truly reflect the best of Southern culture. They with their humility and common sense would hopefully be able to gain back the goodwill of many of those whom Yankee arrogance has alienated, allowing Southerners to live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and honesty (I Timothy 2:2).
There will be an endless stream of news stories about the 2022 federal elections in the months ahead. But rather than marching dutifully to the polls in November, wouldn’t it make more sense to channel that fervor in a different, more productive direction – for the State Legislatures of the South to hold special sessions in their chambers, hold a vote of no confidence in the federal government, and begin negotiations with that entity so the South will be able to free herself from the fanatical Deep State ‘reign of witches’ permanently?
The breakup is already underway, though it is going so slowly that few seem to recognize it. A few recent examples:
- US Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has suggested a ‘national divorce’ of the States;
- Gov DeSantis of Florida has reinstituted the Florida State Guard that would operate completely independently of the federal government;
- Gov Abbott of Texas has recently told the Texas National Guard that he, not Pres Biden, is their commander-in-chief;
- Gov Newsom of California has made it known that he will make his State a safe haven for abortion providers should the federal Supreme Court overturn Roe v Wade.
This kind of absurd, contradictory, ‘disunited union’ cannot last, nor should it. Better for the South and for any other sane section of the US to get out now before the madmen in Washington start a nuclear war that will get them incinerated in a retaliatory strike.
That Fullbright quote is poignant. They used to have some big thinkers in power… I said it a long time ago, but if America had gone down a different road and used the MIC trillions during their brief hegemony to ‘wage aggressive peace’.. staying out of other nation’s affairs, ‘bombing’ those in need with food, jeans, material aid, the means to improve, and a good example… how the world could have been.
Sadly, only a dream. The foundation of the US position of privilege has shifted from power and manufacturing to financial extortion that relies on exporting debt and banking services in return for consumables from the rest of the world. But that model can’t sustain the middle class, and propaganda is rampant trying to mold the inevitable fallout of that fact for some special interest group. And thus the gears of empire must continue until one day they can’t.
I find the South every bit as corrupt as the North I grew up in. The beauty of secession for me is the physical accountability of those who represent us. But dont for a second think our corporate representatives in Washington DC will walk away without a fight. We just have to stay the course and have the patience to watch as more and more of our citizens lose faith and their pensions. Much like the dissolution of the USSR. You pretend to pay me and I pretend to work or something like that. Lets let the federal government continue to destroy/delegitimize itself. Because a world of asemmetrical/sectarian warfare is not a place I want to live in by design.
“The insanity that has gripped Washington” is the rise of Jewish power to full occupation of American life and global hegemony as represented by capitalism, and the failure of capitalism, which represents the end of Jewish global power, indeed the end of Jewish power of any kind in the world.
In all seriousness, current American behavior in the world appears to me to represents Zionist/efforts to maintain, to save themselves and their social position, which requires the revolutionization of capitalism from the top down, rather than for capitalism to be revolutionized from the bottom up, which means the end of Jewish power, likely the end of Judaism, even the end of Jewish people in the world. The revolutionising of capitalism from the top down requires depopulation and the creation of a global social Dystopia relative to the examples suggested to the world by the warning thinkers like like Huxley and Orwell
Humanity is at the brink, as a consequences of the way we chose to live by capitalism, a process through and by which Zionist Jews grew to dominate the world that resulted in minority domination of all the essential and routine process of life, that push and play only the dominant Jewish/capitalist minority interest globally.
That interest is fundamentally an anti-social interest, organised against the interest of all the people in the world who are not Jewish. And as systematically as we have been warned by our thinkers, capitalism evolves it would make it impossible for it to perpetuate itself with an advance increased and increasing population, the capitalist response to save itself must involve human depopulation and biological degradation into forms of genetic control that renders ordinary humanity into perpetual elitist minority control
It is way too late now to pull punches to avoid the true state of the stage humanity has arrived at currently and what is required for humanity to evolve successfully, to make a form of social organisation and resulting life that enhances human chances in nature. Capitalism and Jewish domination of the planet must be ended forthwith, revolutionised! Nationalist independence becomes sacred, the way forward under popular, creative social control that choses/creates the ways it can best live as it evolves, becomes the way forward
The Jewish/Zionist unelected power clearly calls the American policy in the world policy that is out of sync with the interest of all but the Jewish minority power in the world. It is a lunatic power, dangerous to all others and benefits only one minority group of the human species…Jews/Capitalists. The only way to deal with this, to avoid global cataclysm and ironically to try to save some of the Jews themselves is to face up to the truth of Jews in the world and who they actually are and what they do in the world…the evolution of that into the threat now faced by all humanity to out collective existence
An excellent précis. These ideas are greatly in need of development and dissemination. Doing so is a challenging task at present, but I’m sure that until these ideas are widely understood and accepted by the populace, our situation will deteriorate to an increasingly desperate predicament. Well said, Ben.
Its not a whole lot better in the south, the politically educated group would rather test the talented as the rich uselessly confront one another and the new equipment breaks down.
But the signs of widespread collapse are all over the theater screen, yet no one is watching anything but the bad gvt reaction to covid.
The Author writes an article about good will to the world and finishes with support for three Israel first politicians, just face the US is a warmongering nation that will have to be nuked into submission. By the way i am a US citizen that sees no hope for my government it is corrupt to its core.
We have to stop the Big War bit. I just refuse to buy grapes from Californian. Apple products are different, they keep foreigners in jobs in Asia and elsewhere. The slave labourers buy food with the low wages for their children and old parents. If it says made in America, no thanks. It’s sad really, nothing funny about anything anymore. Sex with pets was the last straw from the progressive Queer Crowd. Most folks just want to bring back, normal and boring. America : pick up your “tools” and go home please and give humanity a break.
How come my burn in hell America post has been expunged?
your comment has been sent to saker for review to determine if he want this on his blog … mod
It was rude. Send it to Sputnik news. They lov’um.
Thanks for letting me know. When I think of the decades, well 4 in my case, of the butchering, death, despair and disease America has bestowed upon us, I tend to get emotional.
IMHO if zone x doesnt seem sane then their psy op is working. Foisting the visible inbeciles, Sullivan, Duncan et al is part of the illusion. The controllers are well hidden and quite intelligent, in an evil, crafty manner. The stupidity and incompetance inherant in that approach adds to the illusionary effect. Putin once joked that if he wanted to target the real power in America it wouldnt be the White House. It would be Wall Street. Peace.
I have family in the US Army. They went in gung-ho…..After three years, they want out. Unfortunately they signed up for 7.
Moral among the White Troops morale is very low they tell me. The US Military openly hates its White Troops.
I wish my family members could get out at 4 years.
Biden announced today that there is no escape, I don’t think he was talking about the army, but he sure wanted todays citizens to be clear about this.
Why is it always unchecked immigration. People failed to understand that money this folks send back to their respective Latin American countries is the number one earning surpassing even national growth (after the fact everything was privatized by American compradista classes). This type of stranglehold is for the benefit of dollar hegemony. Influx of dollars and dollar demand within domestic markets keeps Mr. Garlingtons life style in place all the while suppressing competition and “commodity currencies” from overlapping dollar hegemony. Take for example Mexican peso. Before the privatizations that ravage the country by American openly recognize CIA assets, Mexicans were owners of their major industries, peso was .73 cents to the dollar and agricultural peoples thrive what happened? Dumping of dollars to support the beyond reality American clicking standard had to be sustained and here we are today.
There is no economic argument for race-replacing the Historic Native Born White American Working Class Majority. If they could have voted on this issue directly back in 1965…America would be 90 percent White today…with a high wage economy.
You are just a greedy Libertarian who benefits financially from post-1965 race-replacement policy.
@war for Blair mountain
Explains why two world wars had to happen to give you such an exasperated argument in the first place. Funny how the citizenry thinks they would ripe the benefits of empire and not become victims themselves. Funny. You don’t have to look to dar to find your real victims
I want to know why all these born countries either have no way of minting coins, or no commerce to back the coinage, they always flip the dollar as the coin of last resort.
I really don’t understand this article. The Southern isolationist streak is as dead as the Progressive Party, which is to say it survives only in tiny coopted/compromised remnants (in this case, Rand and Ron Paul). Leading Southern politicians and the man in the streets supporting them are at least as imperialist-interventionist as those north of the Mason-Dixon Line.
It just took a bit of time:
“The consolidation of the States into one vast empire, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of ruin which has overwhelmed all that preceded it.”
Robert E. Lee writing to Lord Acton, 1866
In other news, Taiwan have suspended flying their new updated F-16 fleet after one crashed into the sea. Shame that!
The F16 is a very attractive looking aircraft. I always assumed based on its shape, that it was able to fly like a glider, if the engines cut out… I was informed by a USAF pilot that no, it depends entirely on electronics to maintain any stability in the air…and that realistically, with all the software updates, its capabilities are at best, precarious…
I assumed that the F16 was now obsolete, so its anyway not much help to Taiwan really?
Just remembered a conversation i had with an Ex RAF pilot, 15 years after D-Day, who flew Lancasters. He pointed out that the US and UK won the war through building ultra-simple designs in vast numbers. Lancasters would continue to fly even if shot to pieces, as it was basically a canvas plane with a metal ribcage….whist many of the German aircraft were far more complex and heavier with full alu bodies, so more easily shot down…and if even the German manufacturing capabilities wee of superb quality, they just could not produce enough…
And the Russians had nothing to do w/it……Just US and UK
sarcasm or troll .. mod
ho,ho ho take it easy there! No none disputes the enormous sacrifices the USSR suffer during the Great Patriotic War. Those sacrifices were noted by Western leaders during the conflict and by wester people in general since.
No sane individual in the West would dare to question the bravery, self-sacrifice and tenaciousness of the Soviet Union and its people during the second World War.
If you do not acknowledge this, it is because you are stupid or ignorant, or both.
The Soviet Union and its people ground down the Third Reich at a tremendous cost both in lives and property, equally the suffering of other Eastern European nations were immense, Poland comes to mind.
However, Soviet behaviour in its occupation zone after the war is more debatable, and blurred, except in Yugoslavia where Marshall Tito’s partisans did it by themselves, also at a huge cost in lives lost.
Western revisionism is deplorable, and the failure of not attending victory parade in Moscow is an insult, not only to Russia, but also to many in the west that have actually some historical knowledge.
We are not all idiots here.
I would like to suggest a different scenario.
Look at a national election map for 2016. It is a sea of red with islands of deep blue. It is the deep blue islands that are the centers of the atheistic, materialistic, hedonistic culture trumpeted by the media. It is the archipelago of blue islands that are descending into chaos. It is the red “flyover” counties that remain the bedrock of the “old” American values upheld by us “deplorables.” All the critical resources coveted by the deep blue islands are in the red ocean: the farms, the ranches, the power grid, the coal, the oil, the water, the roads, the railroads.
We are the ocean.
The cities can erect walls around themselves to keep us out as they did in DC. But who is imprisoned? Who is free?
We are the ocean.
An East Texas Deplorable
However all the technology, science, machinery comes from the blue cities and colleges and states. without that red oceans by now would be unproductive wastelands…
anyways, I understand the East Texas mentality and your 55-45-35-25 mph signs very well and the cops waiting for a shootout so they can preserve their culture
“However all the technology, science, machinery comes from the blue cities and colleges and states. without that red oceans by now would be unproductive wastelands…”
There is a shadow of truth in what you say. At one time it certainly was true. But the universities have been turned into unscientific wastelands. Manufacturing has been off-shored. And technology is just making better ways to surveil us and addict us to its products. Progress has become consumption. Where is my hundred-year light-bulb?
East Texas Deplorable
> Where is my hundred-year light-bulb?
how much are you willing to pay for it sir?
> Where is my hundred-year light-bulb?
btw, today’s LED bulb will easily last you 10yrs and sip power and white led came from a blue …
Dr. Roberts is one of many well-respected American patriots; a man who consistently speaks about the abuses of the triad of ineptness and corruption between the Congress of the United States, the Federal Reserve Bank and the Wall Street temple where financial crimes and avarice occur every day.
The American national uprising that occurred in 1861 – 1865 was not a civil war for control of the central government in Washington, DC. The southern States declared secession from the northern States establishing a confederacy with Montgomery, Alabama as its first capital city but later settled on Richmond, Virginia for the majority of the war.
Despite the 13 Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, slavery did not end; servitude was simply transferred from the plantation owner to the central government. In exchange for stipends, the ‘new’ slaves are encouraged to vote in elections to keep the subsidies flowing to them and in doing so, the politicians remain in power. These people are financially encouraged by government inculcation to not work and be independent from their masters. The central authority controls their lives and they believe they are ‘happy’ when in truth, they are still slaves.
During President Trump’s first term in office, he was co-opted and ill advised on domestic and foreign policy initiatives by the “swamp” (e.g., career Washington, DC bureaucrats, Pentagon war machine, Wall Street mavens, foreign State lobbyists, etc.), Democratic and Republican status-quo apparatchiks, the corporate owned national broadcast news propaganda and social media platforms. Even his influential son-in-law led him astray. Trump had to politically fight everyday and made poor decisions that killed innocent people abroad including the criminal assassination of Iran’s senior military general, Qasem Soleimani.
President Biden is now the Chief Executive who is even less competent and popular than Trump but also lacks the cognitive ability to make rational command decisions that affect domestic and international policies.
The core of the American citizenry do not want government handouts, do not want to participate in social frivolities that are a distraction from serious issues facing the country and do not want war either on foreign soil or at home. They want the personal freedoms that were the foundation of the nation based upon separation of powers and the right to choose for themselves how they shall be governed. All of that has been swept away in favor of corporate fascism which facilities the global agenda of one world government.
How do ‘We the People’ correct the direction America is headed that will ultimately lead to continued ruination of the economy, loss of confidence in the currency and continued degradation of social norms that have been poisoned by egalitarian hyperbole?
Commonsense demands we do something rational, something that produces meaningful results. I offer some suggestions as an American who loves liberty and freedom and the peace and prosperity we are all entitled to enjoy.
13 Ways to Declare Our Independence From Washington, DC and Rejuvenate the American Economy
1. End Republican or Democratic Party Affiliation
Identify yourself as “Independent.” Does it really matter that many States prohibit non-party members participation in primary elections? No it doesn’t; the party apparatus “picks” the favorite despite how the delegates vote. When the political polls show an overwhelmingly number of Independents verses the Blue or Red Team, they will sit up and take notice.
2. Stop Watching the National News Media
The national media will be taught a lesson when their weekly poll numbers hover around zero. Do this for all electronic devices capable of displaying television or radio news shows or stream national news broadcasts over the Internet.
In other words, “go dark.” The network news ratings will plummet and advertisers will have to find other platforms to pitch their products and services. The networks cannot spew their partisan propaganda if no one is listening. If they can’t generate revenue they will eventually perish. Make a pledge to yourself to do this for at least one year or more. Many athletic venues are now streamed over the Internet anyway so you can satisfy your sports’ addiction that way.
If the Amish can do it, so can you. Shut the box down.
Items 3 – 13 require a national political will to do and that can only be done by electing representatives to office who embrace these initiatives.
3. Reduce the Department of Defense Budget
Too much money for the U.S. military encourages spending on foreign adventurism that has nothing to do with protecting the U.S.A. That money is needed for basic interstate infrastructure and utility improvements.
4. Prohibit Corporate and Foreign State Lobbyist PAC’s
Contributions to political campaigns by non-persons are nothing more than bribes that have led the U.S. into a financial abyss at the expense of the American people. It must be stopped.
5. End For-Profit Healthcare
We don’t have affordable, evidence-based healthcare in America any longer. We have for-profit “Hell-Care” based on lies and false statements made by partisan clinicians for the for-profit pharmaceutical drug cartel and their politically controlled politicians in government.
6. Require U.S Investment Profits Be Held in U.S. Financial Institutions.
Disallow off-shore “safe-haven” accounts that are often used to hide profits from fraudulent financial schemes.
7. Forbid Corporations From Moving Manufacturing Plants Overseas
Companies that want to expand their businesses outside the U.S. must not be allowed to close their U.S. manufacturing locations. In other words, new assets can be built in foreign countries but are forbidden to move existing U.S. based businesses to foreign soil.
8. Restore All Federally Controlled State Lands Back to the States
The central government has no business owning land inside sovereign States that can be used for building new housing.
9. Prohibit Foreign Entities From Owning U.S. land
Foreign companies or persons are allowed to “lease” U.S. land to built new manufacturing plants or buy existing U.S. based businesses but the land itself is owned by the State when the business is located. The exception is when the foreign owned business is sold to a U.S. based company then the land itself is included in the sale.
10. Forbid Corporations From Owning Residential, Non-Rental Properties
Large Wall-Street financial corporations such as Black Rock purchase single and double family homes and hold them off-market to keep housing inventories low, which pushes up residential real-estate prices. Restrict residential property ownership to non-corporate entities (i.e., “people”) that have earned income or non-government assisted unearned income (e.g., welfare, unemployment insurance benefits, etc.).
11. Abolish Residential House-Flipping
Buying and selling a residential property as a short-term investment (House-flipping) which the buyer never intends to occupy is another way that drives up prices by encouraging housing market speculation.
12. Allow a Federal Credit for Residential Property Taxes Paid
The credit is received against earned income and allows people to keep more of their own money.
13. Disallow the Front-Loading of Monthly Mortgage Interest
The calculation of amortized mortgage interest gives advantage to a lender by accelerating the profit from the interest charged in the early years of the loan ahead of the principal amount repaid. This denies the mortgagor a fair apportionment of accumulated equity verses interest owed.
The interest calculation must be changed so the monthly interest paid is the same amount each month, which allows the equity in the residential or commercial property to grow faster.
@pokethetruth.
I understand someone’s desire for something different anything even some shill like trump but no one can deny trump was a Zionist pawn as they came. Even more than the dems. Moment he went the wailing wall you could see who he belongs too.
yep. Freed and pardoned johnathan pollard. He even pardoned pollard’s handler; two people who actively conspired against the US. Occupied Syria and stole their oil, all for pisrael, Killed Soleimani and aided attacks on Iran, all for pisrael. And had the chutzpa to denounce US jews who are not on board w/the pisraeli project.
I believe there are two aspects of human behaviour to be considered: individual behaviour and mass behaviour.
Important drivers of individual behaviour are fear, sex, vanity, money, and power. This seems to be true irrespective of colour, race, or creed; north or south, American or Russian. Humans are humans, wherever they are from, human nature is human nature, and human biology is human biology
Mass behaviour depends on information and belief, both of which depend on third parties, both official and informal. Culture obviously plays an important part in belief, but information has no such ‘time or place’ limitations. It can be concocted to suit any chosen purpose, using any or all available channels. We are all subject to these information flows, we are all susceptible to the manipulations of mass feeling, are influenced by them, and act accordingly.
Readers of this blog have had the opportunity of reading about the work of Edward Bernays on propaganda, advertising, and ‘control of the narrative’. Effectively used, this can be dominant in this age of rapid communication, ‘personalised’ on a mass basis. Gene Sharp showed how this could be used to bring about radical change in chosen countries.
In 1960, a spy-plane piloted by Gary Powers was shot down over the Soviet Union (Sverdlovsk) accompanied by lies concerning its true purpose. In 1961, Yuri Gagarin orbited the earth in Vostok I, being the first human to travel in outer space. In both cases, America was shocked. It tried, but it was difficult to falsify the information.
Since then, the United States has been very successful in dominating most countries of its choosing. The Soviet Union has gone and Russia has no longer anywhere to retreat. Americans believe they are exceptional. They believe they are indispensable. And they believe they are invincible, despite minor drawbacks. We need a Powers or Gagarin moment to change the prevailing narrative of the West. Events in Kazakhstan are encouraging. Is the tide turning? What event, if any, will change the information flow, alter mass perception, and bring some sense of realism to the collective conscience of the West? Will it be umpteen Poseidons ringing the coastlines of America? Or perhaps ‘surgical’ strikes with hypersonic weapons on bases threatening Russia? We shall see. Meantime, the USA, Israel, and others (Turkey?) will continue to harass opponents and NATO continues to advance.
If the South had been successful, we would have the queen of england on our stamps and currency. No coincidence that the ‘revered’ stars’n’bars bears an obvious similarity to the union jack. England was slobbering at the hopes of getting back its colonies. Divided we will fall, which is the whole purpose of these kinds of articles. I might remind the author that it is already too late. In 1984 texas elected its first republican governor (an oil thief and arms merchant) since reconstruction, because so many yankees had moved into the state, as explained by my wonderful Texan (Czech) girlfriend.
And East Texas Deplorable, you know full well that the Big Thicket was ‘settled’ by scalawags on the run….
Americans have never been charitable to the world and when they do send aid it has always come with a lot of strings attached. No, this is just delusional to think or expect anything good coming out of the USA. Ever.
Woodrow Wilson summed it all up perfectly did he not:
“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the civilized world. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”
Fulbright noble words do not incite the actual US elites for the simple reason that the country lives at the expense of the rest of the world. Doing so the US society could lose 75% of its well-being & most likely its political union. The only alternative to US “dislocation” is fomenting foreign adventure which could “bring together” some unbridgeable entities at home.
Andrei Martyanov references a related article and points out that the concept is bullcrap.
Stephen Marche Is an Idiot.

It is true it is currently a Disunited States, but only in regards to domestic politics. And instead of some States showing sanity, different states are just exhibiting different forms of insanity… no cure, really.
