As a father of three kids who never spent a single day of their lives in any school (my wife and I home schooled them from kindergarten to college) and with two kids already in college, I fully endorse the message in this video (but not the organization which produced it about which I know exactly *nothing*).
It is my strong belief that the three main steps to liberate your children from the brainwashing of our society are:
1) Give them a very traditional religious education.
2) Never send them to school.
3) Get rid of your TV and all the corporate media (radio, newspapers).
If you do not teach your kids to worship the True God, they will worship false gods. If you hand over their education to schools, the schools will brainwash and alienate them. If you do not get rid of all the corporate media in your house, your children will sooner or later begin to believe what the media tells them.
Think about it and check out this great video:
Definitely, I would agree but not everybody has the time, knowledge or resources to accommodate such education which looks like an excuse but also is most likely an excuse for most cases in wealthy locations. And dont say who cares about the wealthy locations since you dont want the wealthy kids to grow to an evil society for the benefit of rest of us in the world.
@Rodi Tekin: good point. I can tell you that even though my wife has a Doctorate and I have an “EBT” (“Everything but thesis” – meaning I got my doctoral courses done, but never the PhD thesis), homeschooling was a struggle for us. Add to this that we had to live on one salary (hers) for about 10 years. So for a poor family or a parents with no college education it is much more difficult, no doubt. What can help then are homeschooling organizations although the problem with them is that a lot of them are run by rather unappealing Bible-thumpers who believe that piety and bigotry are pretty much the same thing. It is a tough choice.
But the alternative is always worse, I believe. You end up having kids which are alienated from you. When I see how much of the society rot as seeped through into the souls of my kids who were homeschooled, I cannot even begin to imagne the Tsunami of stupidity and ugliness which can assault the mind and soul of a kid in a modern school.
Those who are lucky to live in a ethnic/religous commuity which can support them do better, as do those with large families. In our case, we had neither, so it was a struggle. But I assure you – we regret nothing.
Now – I will not deny that it is possible to raise your kids in such a way that they can even overcome the horrors of modern schooling. I just find that even more difficult and the parents who do that take a huge risk. But some do win. I personally know of several families like that.
The battle for the soul of our kids is a daily battle, a tedious one, one where you have to fight almost everybody, and one where you never get any recognition. But its one I am very very happy I fought.
And when you try everything that is in your power, God helps you. I like to say that if God tells you to cross the ocean swimming, your obligation is to get to the beach and start swimming without thinking; His is then to give you the strength to make it.
Cheers!
Hey dont forget your flip flops before getting on the beach :)
@Rodi Tekin: flip flops? LOL! that is almost all I am wearing these days. Since I work at home and since am have the huge blessing of living in beautiful Florida, I almost always wear flip-flops, some shorts and a Tshirt. Not quite a total beach bum, but almost :-)
Cheers!
This is a message I wholeheartedly agree with, thanks for sharing it!
Whether poor, rich, or middle class: If both parents truly believe this message and are dedicated, they will find a way… no excuses!
Peace
