Introduction: 1492-2022
The present conflict in the Ukraine is clearly not really about the Ukraine – that artificial collection of territories is only a tragic battlefield between the West and the Rest. The conflict is about the organised violence and extraordinary arrogance of the West, the US/UK/EU/NATO, against the rest of the world, specifically Russia, supported by China, India and indeed all other peoples. Therefore, the coming Russian victory in the special operation in the Ukraine essentially signifies the end of the West’s 500-year long domination of the planet. This is why the tiny Western world, some 15% of the planet, is so virulent in its opposition to the Russian people.
The Russian victory will undermine the remnants of illusory faith in the mythical superiority of the West and above all in the USA, fear of which long discouraged the resistance of the ‘Rest’ to the West. Neither Iran, nor even China risked challenging the USA – Russia has. The Ukraine is the USA’s ‘unsinkable’ Titanic and Russia the iceberg to sink US hubris and overreach. When the world sees the Russian victory, four continents at least, Europe and Asian China, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia, as well as Latin America and Africa, will vote for freedom from the American Empire. It is the end of Western domination, ‘the end of the history’ of ethnocentric Westerners like Francis Fukuyama. For Russia and Europe themselves we foresee five main consequences. These are:
1. America’s Withdrawal from Europe
The Russian victory will lead to the major reduction or even withdrawal of US forces which have occupied Western Europe since 1945 (the UK since 1942) and Central and Eastern Europe from 1991 onwards. In the US, isolationist sentiments are already strong after the humiliating US routs in Iraq and Afghanistan and violent internal divisions in the United States will only be reinforced. The USA will retreat to its divided island. Transatlantic unity will collapse. Then Western Europe can at last come out of its isolation at the tip of the western peninsula of the Eurasian Continent and rejoin the mainstream of a liberated Eurasia, led by the Russian Federation.
2. The End of the EU
The EU was a US concept in every respect, destined to become a USE, a United States of Europe. There are already a large number of tensions within it. Brexit, the result of English, that is, anti-British and anti-Establishment, patriotism, has taken place. The other tensions will demand solutions following the Russian victory. After that victory, room for any further EU expansion and economic colonisation of Central and Eastern Europe, including in the western Balkans, will end. The end of new colonisation after the loss of the Ukraine, rich in natural resources, will undermine the remains of the already divided EU. Ukraine was a buffer-state and resource centre for the colonial EU. Its liberation means direct EU proximity to Russia and the restoration of Russian influence. With the Russian victory, Western Europe will have to make strategic agreements with Moscow on European security, this time without US meddling.
3. The Renewal of Imperial Russia
The billions spent on bribing treasonous pro-Western puppet elites in former Soviet Republics like the Baltic States, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan and the four other Central Asian ‘stans’ will have been wasted. The myth of Western superiority on which these elites were created will give way to reality. This will put an end to their opportunities to earn dollars and make careers from Russophobia by renting out national territories for US bases, CIA torture facilities or racist germ warfare biolabs to create diseases. Georgia was the first to understand this in early 2022, refusing to join in anti-Russian sanctions. In Moldova the deadline is approaching, as Russian troops prepare to liberate Odessa and break through the land corridor to unite Transdnistria to Russia.
4. Russian Values to Reshape Central and Eastern Europe
The strengthening of Central and Eastern European identities in nation-states like Hungary, Slovakia and Poland will lead to their rapprochement with Russia. Russia’s victory will mean an increase in sympathy for it in a number of Central and Eastern European nation states, not just in Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and in Hungary, Slovakia and Poland, but also in the Baltic States, Austria, the Czech Lands, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Mediterranean Cyprus. Once their venal, anti-patriotic, US-appointed elites have fallen, Russian values will return to these countries as an influential force.
5. Russian Values to Reshape Western Europe
The EU, founded immediately the SU (Soviet Union) had collapsed, was from the outset an artificial construct, built on the rejection of patriotism in favour of a non-existent supranational European identity. Patriotism is an existential threat to Brussels. This is partly why as long ago as Common Market days De Gaulle, who had wanted a confederation of homelands, was overthrown in the US regime change in 1968. Then in 2016 patriots voted for Brexit against the Establishment elite and the Democrat President Obama. The EU was always about the rejection of national identities in favour of post-Christian, indeed anti-Christian, anti-national and anti-family values, mass immigration of paid slaves, the imposition of the LGBT agenda, the restriction of freedoms for anti-EU views etc. These are not Russian values.
Conclusion: Global Denazification
Just as in 1814 Russian troops liberated Paris and in 1945 Berlin, so in the 2020s Brussels will be liberated, or rather will collapse, under the pressure of Russian values. We are talking about the disintegration of the US-created European Union and also of US bases in Eastern Europe and the former eastern Soviet Union. We shall see the emergence of national centres, from Scotland to Cyprus, from Catalonia to Mongolia, from Slovakia to Central Asia. The bubble of Western, US/UK/EU, hubris is being burst by Russia’s liberation and denazification of the Ukraine. In order to preserve its identity as an imperial nation, protect the integrity of the Orthodox Faith and guarantee the peace of the whole multipolar world, Russia will spread this process of denazification to all.
“ The Russian victory will lead to the major reduction or even withdrawal of US forces which have occupied Western Europe since 1945”
Almost laughed when I read this, wishful thinking in the extreme.
They will double down again and again until their finger is on the nuclear button and it’s likely they will push it
Obviously not immediately – but eventually, this will happen.
I must agree with MJ12. It will happen after a nuclear exchange but probably not before. You have to remember that America was settled largely by English, Irish and German emigrants. It will take a toxic shock to return them to their historic anti-European outlook. A series of fireballs on American soil resultant from European entanglements is probably the only thing that will do that.
You should read the Foundation cycle by I. Azimov.
It is a scifi saga, about an intergalactic Empire, unrivaled in power, but that started to crumble precisely because of its gigantic hubris. Everything started to become too expensive, complex ystems started to fall apart as the knowledge to maintain them was lost.
Far away garrisons had more and more espaces contacts with the center…
The parallels with current day Empire are quite striking.
It won’t be necessary to bomb US bases. They will just be abandoned when US soldiers there won’t receive food in time.
The key to all this is the hegemony and domination of the American Dollar. Kill the Dollar’s over inflated value and everything crumbles. It would be impossible to maintain all those bases. But don’t expect Zionist America to give up it’s global domination without a dog fight. They will go to any lengths, and that includes nuclear options, to maintain their domination.
I strongly feel that the potential for Armageddon is pretty high and the second coming of Jesus is near. No need to mention the arrival of the anti Christ since he should be surfacing prior to Jesus.
In order for those things to start happening, first the dollar/US economy would have to collapse, second, things would have to get so bad in Europe that european countries would go through a wave of nationalism and exits from the EU/NATO (Le Pen lost to globalist Macron signal we’re not there yet), third, Russia would have to become a economic superpower again (who follows or is influenced by poor countries ?) in other words that won’t happen until at least 2035-2040, and will require way more than just a military victory in Ukraine.
@ Phariah One of the reasons that Le Pen lost was precisely that she largely abandoned her anti EU anti globalsit policies to make her party ‘respectable’ just the as they have been proven right. There was no real debate this time round.
The worldwide US military presence is coupled to the ability to print money at will. And the USD reserve currency status is at stake here.
Precisely.
America may ignore anything but threats to it’s currency’s hegemony. They understand well that demise of the Dollar is demise of the Western Empire. So expect a nasty outcome, expect the worst from the vampire criminals who will do the worst of evil to maintain their dominance.
We have a winner!
Yes, I thought this too.
MJ12, I agree with you. Nonetheless, that wishful thinking is great and it is possible ( however the likeliness).
The article recapitulates quite well the situation. I think what is unsaid as far as the process to get to that « happy end » is more destruction, internal chaos, pain at the western level. Also, even if that article made me feel good, I believe we live in the age of conflicts (kali yoga) which is bound to end in an apocalypse, with most humans gone.
There are infinite possible scenarios, but even if US were to collapse before the European “nations”, those would be most likely under a 4th reich. Who knows? But quite dark it is, not unlike Trump blunt “shithole”.
That said, I was raised in the French alps and I won’t ever equate the nature and culture of that place as shitty.
Trump, however his patriotism and somewhat against the grain of the establishment, remains for me a stereotype of rich-vulgar-full of himself-America/me first.
So, thank you Batiushka for your uplifting article. Better than any propaganda: it does make you high without zapping critical thinking.
Have a good day.
I still am not too sure if the multi-rich – cream of the crop of the liberal free market mafia pulling the strings in the West – Jewish oligarch are willing to lose all their accumulated wealth and choose the path of suicide by pushing the nuclear button. Being business people by nature, they’ll definitely negotiate a middle way, in which, forfeit a big chunk of their wealth but be allowed to live quietly somewhere, so that they can pass on the remaining of their wealth to the next generation of theirs. These recent threats coming out of London, Washington are signs of a growing desperation. They just bark but don’t bite.
Only the collapse of the Dollar will do that.
A bright future indeed. May it be so.
Interesting essay. I think most Americans would be happy with the projected results, after the shock of losing wore off and the realization dawned that Russia is not trying to control the world but to liberate it from the Globo-Homo agenda.
But I don’t foresee the US/NATO globalists (or the money powers that control them) allowing de-dollarization to happen. They will not go quietly into that good night. Something goes Boom, either now or in a few years.
@ thor
Actually, it will not pleas most Americans. Sorry. It is hard to believe ones eyes seeing ‘the west’, all 6 entities of it, withdrawing into its cave while convincing itself that it is cutting off literally the world.
The west is committed thoroughly to de-growth. Environmentalists, conferences, schools, churches, institutions and political movements are committed to it as if it were an initiative of their own making.
It is not an initiative of their own making. We are witnessing Tranters ‘involuntary surrendering of complexity’ that is the hallmark of the end of all empires. De-growth is a involuntary movement masquerading as a policy.
That is, an empire requires to be built and culture is the manifestation of a ever more complex network of systems that sustain the responsibilities and burden of an aligned mass of people.
Empire ends at a point where some un-controllable external factor such as climate change in the Andes or over extension in Rome results in a simple equation where the inputs in maintaining the complex system are not equalled by the benefits. Invisibly to most, an involuntary surrendering of complexity results. It is often the case that the demise is predictable, such as the over-reliance of the west on debt, external supply and exploitation.
In highly intertwined systems it is not possible to surrender one part of the complex system and maintain the rest. It is not possible for the US to lose dollar status, retire from Europe or even Afghanistan, and so on.
But this is precisely what has been accelerating since 2000 and especially 2008: these attempts to realign an empire around new motivations – terror, finance, covid – have in fact led to greater decay rather than patching cracks.
The underlying base inclinations of every society have been emerging like daemons into the light as not only the imperial system but also the cultural fabric begins to weaken. Woke, LGBT, cancellation, lockdowns, fundamentalist liberalism, Vatican II, satanism in schools – all of these are symptoms of a people surrendering the effort of maintaining a complex system both locally and personally in favour of very much simpler ones.
Because of this the US will not start a major nuclear war. That idea and the equipment were built and is still largely entertained by people of a different time who were in their prime in the 50’s. It is not actually executable by the current command, led by the weak and extremists as puppets
Russia and China are to America what the Peruvian climate fluctuation was to the Inca’s. Ukraine is a moment of impetus that certifies full retreat not from Afghanistan or Europe specifically but from complexity.
Interestingly – and you will know this personally and it is Russia’s biggest challenge, and I certainly know it as a traditional Catholic – archeological evidence suggests that after the grand leaders in Peru had ordered the abandonment of their mountain garden farmong system and granaries because, although still the best bet, the margins were no longer sufficient to sustain the lavish shows of power of the god-men rulers, some people seemed to have banded together and returned with more humility to work the system without the burden of their elites to sustain. This challenge to their power attracted the absolute wrath of the remaining and increasingly unjustified elites who, of course, eliminated them and with them any chance of their civilisation surviving.
This is why Americans won’t welcome the coming decades. It is also the character of Russia’s rise, that it is clearly adopting the burden of a new system, is building complexity, and will culturally enrich itself as it goes.
Excellent article, I couldn’t have said it better & have nothing to add. This is not a Russian “invasion” of Ukraine, it is a liberation of historic Rus from Nazi occupation. NATO invaded, Russia is liberating its historic territory & returning it home.
An interesting take on potential future developments. As a born and raised Westerner, I can assure you that there are more than few of us “westerners” that are equally fed right up with the current batch of Western leaders that take up space in Warshington, London and Brussels. To the extent Russia’s efforts bring this Western circus down all the better. Sad really but that is what happens when people do not demand respect and honesty from their elected leaders.
A future we should look forward to. Humanity awakes. May our shared future be bright.
well, very nice and dandy. However the war is far from over and precisely because of the deep consequences for the american empire your predictions are far from certain. I only wish
I think that the essay is in fact a wish list, stated as an assumption. I, too, wish for this, and also hear some of the other commenters reality check on all of this.
May sound trite, but…. “May the Force be with us all”.
For Russia, failure cannot be an option. The consequences for it, and for many others, would be catastrophic, if Russia does not succeed in this. Russia has gone in too deep, and there is no turning back, or bailing out now.
Vlad and co. knew that as soon as they decided to bring Russia into full-sovereign nation (literally against the interest of USSA, NATO, UK, for income and anything) “he must face” the fate of men who came before him, it is war or end of Russia as a nation, as an equilibrium and most of the time, the force that change the history, the force that destroy western agony, and hence this time, Vlad gotta punch them even harder than those of Alexander & Stalin….
Exactly.
Losing is not an option for Russia. It needs to utilize all it’s available resources to ensure it’s success even if that necessitates exhausting it’s entire nuclear stockpile because what the dirty Western Empire would otherwise do is like the case of Iraq, Saddam, Libya, Gaddafi.
Rather die with honor than live a shameful slavery.
Oppression has an expiry date. We learn that from history. No matter how powerful an empire is, if it starts oppressing others and embraces immorality, it eventually gets destroyed. And a righteous nation takes over.
As much sympathy as I have for the Russians, I don’t think they are willing to do what needs to be done. This war will be fought until Russia loses, or until the last Ukrainian, Romanian, German…alive. The US and UK will escalate this as high as needed, but just below WMD’s.
The British are so vindictive that even if they lose, they will leave chaos as in India-Pakistan, middle east.
Well, hypersonic missiles are not classed as WMD, so it will be interesting to see how the Brits cope with them.
The US/UK simply don’t have the industrial or manufacturing capacity to escalate anything nor the advanced weapons required.
Russia hasn’t even used it’s most potent conventional weapons in Ukraine such as the Zircon hypersonic missile, which it can produce in thousands, and with the support of China’s huge manufacturing capacity, produce hundreds of thousands more.
Never forget; the British can be as vindictive as they like, so can their US cousins, but once the Russians go to war, it is to utterly destroy whole civilisations completely as they did to Germany in WW2. They’ll thoroughly fumigate the UK and US too. This is a war where only one Nation will remain standing, Russia.
Sure. But we know from history both US and UK pull their fingers back when they risk being smashed.
Nikita Khrushchev threatened London who pulled back from Suez/Egypt, then he threatened US in Cuba who pulled back from Turkey.
Several of Kremlin commentators (Kedimi) and advisors have recommended same thing, a punch in the bully’s face, sink one or two US Air-Carriers or similar.
But its a very dangerous game as we know from Pearl Harbour m.m. However, with the competent team in the Russian Government I am sure they know precisely what they are doing, and gratefulness from here for the sacrifice! We owe you!!
Going back to 1956 and the Suez Crisis, when Israeli and British forces invaded Egypt after Nasser nationalized the canal, I think that it was President Dwight Eisenhower, who told Anthony Eden, the British prime minster to get the hell out of there. Eden soon had to resign.
Yes. But the pre-history was Khrushchev’s threat to nuke London if they didnt pull out of Egypt.
It happened that US (at this time anti-colonial) entered the scene on Khrushchev’s side, as everybody were tired of the British clown show in Egypt.
It became a turning point, where US for the first time discovered they could take over the Empire roll from UK.
To conclude: Khrushchev’s threats lead to the demanded outcome, although it off course are diminished in Wiki and history books by our well known actors.
When I see analyzes that are not limited to the political issues of economic supremacy and the cruel exploitation of the Anglo Empire about other countries and extend, as usual in this blog, in analysis of religion and sexual issues, I am discouraged. It’s simple fanaticism! That’s why I like Marxists, they don’t waste time on fanaticism.
…Jose …you would not like live in the Marxist state……
Then do not torture yourself. Go elsewhere, where morality and issues of faith are not discussed.
US foreign policy for the last 20 years has been driven by the Zionist agenda. The Zionists is US and UK and Israel must be defeated surgically, economically, and in the information world of narrative creation. This is the quickest and most efficient way to fulfill Russian goals.
Again, all this is all good (end of US hegemony, raise of a multipolar world, etc…). You’re all erudite, well versed in history and geopolitics, but “Won’t somebody please think of the climate” ??? Even Russia will struggle with bigger forest fires and decaying infrastructures built on melting permafrost.
Melting permafrost means more arable land. Why would the forests burn, apart from arson of course? Once the chemtrails and HAARP weather modification stops, we could all live happily, dont you think?
The assertion that 0.04% CO2 in the gas atmosphere has caused global warming by an average of one degree F over the past 15,000 years since the ending of the last ice age is scientifically absurd. The correlation of two variables in a dynamic system does not tell us which one is the cause and which one is the effect. Analysis of the Vostok ice drilling cores in the Antarctic clearly demonstrate that warming precedes CO2 increases by maybe 500 years. This is because CO2 is less soluble in warmer water than cold, so that as the oceans warm, CO2 comes out of solution into the gas atmosphere.
In any case life is far more abundant and diverse in the tropical regions compared with the higher latitudes.
What the climate alarmists seem to forget is that CO2 is essential for plant photosynthesis to occur, and without it all life on earth as we know it would die off.
Now that is a NORMAL reaction to an impeding planetary catastrophe, this one is not:
“This Paris climate accord is not just some accord or the other. It is a central accord in defining the contours of globalization.” ~ Angela Merkel about the United States leaving the Paris Climate Accord in 2016
https://www.newyorker.com/news/amy-davidson/angela-merkel-and-the-insult-of-trumps-paris-climate-accord-withdrawal
That really strikes me as weird. An asteroid is heading to Earth and the woman is worried about the “contours of globalization”? They ought to put that quote on a Green Peace t-shirt.
As a non Westerner, I always marveled at how the “climate emergency” fit hand-in-glove with the West’s plans for globalization, essentially dictating, through financialization (IMF/WB), which nations could industrialize and which ones could not. Maybe it is just one of those fortuitous coincidences? But it certainly could serve to see that a non-compliant nation like Russia could never develop its fossil fuel industry enough (in conjunction with industrializing countries like China & India) to challenge Western hegemony.
We will have to see just how important the climate emergency is to the West over the next few years, now that the “contours of globalization” are likely to be very different than those envisioned by Angela Merkel. IMHO
@Rokossovsky Spot on, but the Western sheeple believe in global bankers and will continue to believe in it.
Its the smell of money which attracts them to their own demise.
In the case here I think Russia must be “playing along” as Russian scientists and upper Kremlin must know the real world.
Ref: https://www.voltairenet.org/article189616.html (Financial ecology), Russia’s new satelite over North Pole too shows the real state of ice affairs far from the fake MSM.
To conclude Ukraine and the end of history, we must begin calling the real world correct names.
Clima Change is Weather Change! Maybe an annoying change for office economists but quite normal from its design and our planet’s history.
“Above all it is essential to refer to things by their correct names. If things are not referred to by their correct names, then our language will not reflect reality.
If our language does not reflect reality, then our actions will not reflect reality, and will be exercises in futility.” (Confucius, 551-479 BC, Chinese Teacher[22])
Hi Tommy:
I just saw this on Izvestia today:
“The implementation of the strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions may be postponed indefinitely, Izvestia found out.”
https://iz.ru/1326653/valerii-voronov/terpiat-otlagatelstv-v-rossii-khotiat-otsrochit-sokrashchenie-parnikovykh-vybrosov
The Western “rules based global order” seems to be unravelling very quickly it seems. (lol)
The 1% in USA – who rules the empire – don´t care about the climate, the only things they have in their minds are profits and growths. I have confidence in a future with Russia and China and their vision of the world, which they showed they 4th februari in China. I think they and their governments will listen to the young people and the scientists…they seem to be very wise. Born as they are in socialist countries.
It is too early to talk about victory for Russia. The exposure of getting NATO countries involved in that conflict is increasing every day. True the war is not between Russia and Ukraine but between Russia and the Empire of lies. I don’t think that Russia can sustain a war against NATO without having to use nuclear weapons and the winner will not be in better shape than Pyrrhus. The world is getting on a wrong path.
Just need to collapse the current Financialization of all markets. Wipe it all out, which will be devastating to those in the West who have no clue how screwed over they’ve become by the Elites, but most will survive and can rebuild.
Either way, the rest of the world will suffer but not as much since their standard of living won’t take such a dramatic dive off the cliff.
I worry more about the US using a “tactical” nuclear weapon in a false flag op.
A tactical nuclear weapons were used on nein eleven that dustified the twin towers in Manhattan, evidenced by the 50 times normal background level of Tritium in the bathtub water after demolition. Tritium is an isotope of hydrogen with two extra neutrons in the atomic nucleus, that can only be produced by nuclear fusion.
And thats why my heart is with Russia.
I welcome them.
Guess there’s hope. I wish I could see the faces from all those clowns here in the west when they too realize their fantasy is vanished into the void. They may be lucky not to experience a ‘French revolution’.
I am somebody who supports Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.
I find this analysis composed of 1/2 wishful thinking and 1/2 hubris.
I do not see any evidence that in the short to medium term the US will withdraw its forces from Europe.
I do not see any evidence that in the short to medium term we will witness the end of the EU.
I do not see any evidence that Putin, or any mainstream figures in the Russian Duma, seriously entertains some kind of a return to imperial Russia. This would, among other things, run directly contrary to Lavrov’s and Putin’s expressed regard for international law and the relative formal equality accorded to sovereign states under the UN Charter.
I hope that the decline of the US empire proceeds in a way that avoids nuclear war, but frankly at this point I do not understand how anybody could look objectively at the situation in Europe and expect that the US and or NATO will simply collapse within the next year to decade. It is clear that the US plans to occupy a declining Europe for the next generation at least, and I do not see how a Russian victory in Ukraine (which I fully expect) will necessarily change this state of affairs.
And does anybody really think that a Russian empire would in the end be any better than a US empire, or Japanese empire, or British empire, or Turkish empire, or Roman empire? The problem with empires is that they are empires, not that they are run by the wrong ethnicity/religion.
Yes. Batiushka’s article is delusional.
Reading back through the article, I see nowhere does he state that Russia would become an empire nor that Russia wishes to be one, I think people just added that into the mix because the U.S. wishes to be one and have empire on the mind, the days of empires are long gone and no one will ever see another.
Thumbs up to a comment I wish I had the word skill to write.
Lots of optimism, bordering on pie-in-the-sky, rose tinted glasses.
All indications are the US and it’s vassals ( like my poodle country Canada ) are willing to do anything and everything to reverse the tide of empire decline. It seems we are the bad guys who’s nefarious actions are not constrained by international rules or agreed upon rules of engagement. Case in point the dna based biological weapons labs encircling our enemy countries …. Banned? Pshaw, not for the exceptional hegemon .
i tend to agree with your assessment WJ; There are plenty of homphobes amongst the neo cons too, so i do feel the ‘culture war’ agenda is a distraction and an irrelevance. I support russia and china in this millenial conflict as they are protecting a multi-polar world and a truly -rules-based world order against the piratical-gangsterism which is dominating NATO and crippling any efforts in the West to achieve socio-economic justice. My hope is that europe wakes up from the nightmare of atlanticist hegemony and turns east in a spirit of comradeship; tragically it may take war up to and including the use of nuclear arms to achieve this.
Though you have used the word empire, if I have to use that word, then, not all empires are the same.
Good empires did exist. They may get corrupt as they go unchallenged. This is a cycle that cannot be avoided. Nations rise and fall and so do civilisations. Even the best nations built on faith and morality eventually degrade, perish, and a new one rises.
Raytheon CEO Greg Hayes told shareholders “everything being shipped to Ukraine is coming out of stockpiles of either D.O.D. or N.A.T.O. (Nuclear Armed Terrorist Organization). And that’s GREAT news”! Russia is capturing this by the ton, and the rest goes into a black hole that can’t be tracked. Are creeps like Greg even human? I doubt it, since degenerates like him worship MAMMON. When passenger airlines begin falling from the skies, because of demonic psychopaths like him, the bastards will blame Russia. Sad.
So long as Russia and China place value in some other parties debt (notes) the “West” will keep handing Russia empty promises in exchange for valuable tangible things that the West will use to harm Russia.
Russia manufactures firearm ammunition.
Trades ammunition for empty promises in US Dollar form.
The “West” then fires that ammunition at Russian Army servicemen and kill the Russian Army servicemen.
If the Kremlin can not figure out there is something wrong with this, they will deserve the Darwin Award they are sure to receive.
“the Russian victory” …one notes, however, that
the Saker has stopped publishing battle maps. Obvious why:
not only do they not change day-to-day, they no longer even change
month-to-month.
Maps are tootsie pops for armchair generals. They don’t originate from the General Staff (duh!), and they are amateurish lacking vital on-the-ground unit IDs and status. They are generally wild guesses by people clipping from open sources misinformation, erroneous information, disinformation and bullsh*t.
If you are observing a combined arms netcentric operation over hundreds of miles, thousands of square miles, and all you have is some colored lines ineptly placed, detached from actuality, you have a placebo (a tootsie pop).
We saw 50 days of urban warfare in Mariupol, in a city generally laid out as a square grid, but did not have the street names of where the action was. We didn’t have the precise day of the videos. We didn’t know which units were doing the fighting. We could see Chechens, DPR and Russian special forces marines. They are uniformed uniquely, so it was not difficult. But we hardly ever saw casualties on the Russian side. Rarely saw casualties on the Azov/Ukie side (though there were thousands of them. 4000, meaning 80 per day on average.)
Yet, if you saw maps with colored areas for those 50 days, you couldn’t tell an accurate story, not a barebones SitRep from the maps. They were a joke, useless, a diversion for amateurs.
They are infographic entertainments. Not military. Not factual. Junk.
Their equivalent in accuracy would be 1 foot=5 miles. Useless.
Precisely.
Moreover, conquering the initial front lines is far easy than getting to the centres. The speed of progress is high in the initial days. As the enemy keeps retreating, it poses more difficulties, risks and challenges to the army moving forward against it : mines, ambushes, civilian shields, guarilla warfare and so on. It knows it’s territory much better. It could set up all kinds of traps and ambushes. That’s why losses for the winning army gets higher here. So the Russian slowdown is normal and preferable to avoid losses to the Russian forced. It would be tactical fights from now on. The enemy would resort to nasty disinformation at this stage, as we see them happening now.
The Americans took a long time to set their afoot their soldiers in Iraq inspite of non stop bombing for months and breaking it’s bones through years of deadly sanctions and disarmament using their puppet UN tools.
Let us agree that those running Russia and it’s military are far more knowledgeable, intelligent, have practical knowledge of warfare and most importantly, they are aware of the ground realities and the challenges from the battle zone as well as beyond it.
This is not a Sakerworthy article. There is so much wrong with it that it saves time to say that the only thing that is right is the overall sentiment.
There is no turning back now, Russians! May God bless you in this righteous battle. Please put the democratic west in its place! It’s long overdue. NAZIlensky’s days are numbered. The world is behind you. But watch out! The Empire of LIES is capable of incredible evil, and like a cornered animal will strike back, damn the consequences. Godspeed!
It would appear that only Russian sphere’s of influence are being attacked. Is it therefore not about time to crush Polish and Romanian hubris? Or, will Russia sit on its hands and allow those treacherous scum to destabilise Transnistria/Others. Ultimatums must be sent to those 2 US proxies immediately, preferably attached to a volley of Kinzhals.
Psychopaths are not known for lucid and reasoned thought. How Russia will deal with this scourge of humanity will be very interesting to see…
I hope these dreams will come true in the future, but I’m also afraid that hopes are much weaker thank realism. And realism says that the USA/NATO/EU beast won’t be satisfied until it draws in the Armageddon the rest of the world. Civilization for the West is long lost and gone; and so are all virtues and vitality. It really is the ideal substrate for the Devil’s ambitions – in fact, it became his slave and instrument.
Living in Italy, I keep praying every single day for this beast to die, and that our descendants will see a new dawn of glory, peace, prosperity, courage, and virtue, for the whole Heartland.
I read many things on the Saker with interest. But this is bonkers, nuts, mad as a loon, batshit crazy stuff. What Russia wrests from this intervention will probably be a strip of territory and a partioning of Ukraine. Bretton Woods 3 will steam along side by side the US-Euro world in (one hopes) a relatively frozen conflict.
About Transnistria: it seems hat is where the West plans a counter in the form of an Ukrainian-Romanian invasion. But will it do more than making RF pay a price?
. . . . but I like living in a totalitarian state here in the UK.
On Billboards, on trains, everywhere, UK Government slogans – See Something? Hear Something? Say Something! How cute.
OK so I was on the way to the pharmacy to collect my eyedrop medicine and then onto the grocer for batteries for my hearing aid. As I passed a neighbour’s house I could hear a lot of voices, shouting, screaming, appeared some sort of barbecue/pool party was in progress. Out of nowhere I distinctly heard a very young child’s stifled cries, Da-Da, Da-Da. Upon returning home I got straight on the blower to MI6 .gov Emergency Hotline and relayed the story. Da-Da, most suspicious, possible child indoctrination, other illicit activities abound in my neighbourhood.
Strangely though, I never heard back from H/Q. I suspect they’re too busy fighting the Red Menace in Lesser Ukrainia.
First we had Brexit, of all places in Britain. Quickly followed by Trump, a major US earthquake.
Now we have Rexit, Russia dumping the globalists.
Quickly followed by China on Feb. 4 declaring an unlimited Russia collaboration.
What are the City of London’s imperialists to do?
All they have is Global Britain, which never left the Night of the Proms, and BoJo, Truss parading on a dusty theater?
This is happening so fast that the Straussian”s are running to Greek textbooks they cannot even read.
Result – total disarray.
The last battle of WWII is right now being fought out.
DenaZification, meaning sending the Shaytan back to Hell and the $billions bill to the Devil itself, and then a massive development program for so many nations. The China BRI is the best punishment for the Shaytan – see what we can do!
In France during the revolution, American Thomas Paine arrived as defendant for the King, corrupt, condemned.
He said the best punishment for such a King was exile to the new USA, where he could actually witness a republic in full reconstruction. His tormentors in Paris instead preferred the Guillotine, and sent first Lavoisier, the worlds greatest scientist ,” we do not need science” said the executioner.
We must not repeat France’s self-immolation with such clever short sentences!
This is why President Putin, in the middle of this bloodbath, said clearly in Belarus that space exploration is absolute priority.
Then see the EU cancelling all Space research with Russia – an absolute repeat of France’s self- immolation.
Whether Macron can up the ante we will soon see….
“Space exploration” is just a euphemism for Elon’s rocket business.
No one is ever going to go to Mars. If anyone wants to volunteer, it will be a one way trip, with imagery sent from the Sahara Desert.
With regard to Russian values I would like to honour here the memory of General Mikhail Kutuzov (1745-1813) who defeated Napoleon’s Grande Armée assault on Russia, not with arranging spectacular large scale battles (that would cost lots and lots of Russian soldier’s lives) but with a continuously upkept barrage of small scale pinpointed (‘high-precision’) attacks on the withdrawing Grande Armée by Cossacks followed by swift tactical withdrawals when the alarmed French cavalry tried to engage with the invisible Russian opponent in a big battle confrontation according to the French handbook of war.
Mikhail Kutuzov didn’t operate according to the French/Western handbooks of war. Kutuzov’s way of waging a war was in fact very different: he (unlike the French/Western way of warfare) really valued the life of each Russian soldier.
In the present SMO one may notice a continuation of these remarkable Russian values of not being willing to waste human lives. President Putin doesn’t want the lives of Russian soldiers wasted on Azovstal nazis. One may time and time again notice an acute awareness on the Russian military side of trying to save the lives of AFU soldiers who do not belong to the brainwashed Ukronazis.
That’s why the Russian military approach prefers exactly pinpointed high-precision attacks on AFU positions and Ukrainian strategic targets over the brutal & abstract bomb tapestry systematics employed by the American army in the Vietnam war against their Vietnamese opponents. Brutal & abstract is again the manner how the US & NATO is presently dumping their weapon arsenals into the Ukraine. Brutal & abstract is the aim of the CIA/MI6 led PSYOPS warfare against Russia trying to cancel the way of valueing your opponent as a fellow human being. In this sense we may notice a worrisome alignment of CIA/MI6 hysterical methods with Nazi hysterical methods from WWII.
It has to do with Russian values, with seeing (- perhaps this is truly originating from the Bible, where the ‘enemy’ is being met the commandment of love -) your ‘enemy’ as a fellow human being.
A bold statement. Here’s what I think will happen after the Ukraine SMO ends. If it ever does. Some Baltic states will return to Russia, but there will be a Gladio style guerilla war across Eastern and Western EuropeThe weapons the West is shipping to Europe are going underground to later be used by stay behind terrorist cells the CIA/MI6/Mossad have created. Remember the Bader Meinhof gang and the Italian Red Brigade? Among others hey were created by the CIA/P2 Masonic Lodge. I expect to see similar actions, for at least the next 10 years.
Russia needs to draw a line when NATO says its ok to bomb Russia. A very strong conventional attack on a major military target. With the same amount of warning that they give Russia.
Yikes. I think you can count on a degree of economic upheaval in the US and EU and Japan. US bases will get expensive and they can’t induct enough young people to fill out the military.
Plus, there has always been a degree of isolationist thought among Republicans. The problem is – as with Trump- he talked a good game but failed to stop the warmongers. Similar situation with Britain – they will freeze and starve rather than give up trying to fight with Russia. A strange fanaticism.
I think it may take a severe pandemic with massive deaths or a crushing collapse with burning cities to get the US away from Europe or meddling in Asia. Look at the Vietnam war. OTOH, if dollar hegemony vanishes, who knows?
Straussians aiming to expand war into Transnistria

RAND had Transnistra as Plan 2 after Donbass in 2019.
Are there RAND-y boyz pandering here?
Wow! What a breath of fresh air!
Being a little sentimental and certainly spiritual here, archangel Michael didn’t handle satan with a kiss, as I recall. It was with a sword… That tells it all.
Let us continue praying the Holy Spirit to interveene “appropriately” in our sick world like Jésus did to the money changers from the Temple.
The UKR war is the US’ defining triumph for this century: The US chokehold on germany+EU just became stronger than ever, e.g., merkel refused the F-35 but now germany announced it will earmark ~10 billion for buying… F-35s. This, together with the sales of ultra-expensive US LNG to the UE, is just the beginning. The US will now force, if necessary manu militari, all non-eurasian producers of gas, oil, and raw materials to sell their stuff in dollars even more than before. To this end the USA will soon brutally subjugate the entirety of latin america and southern africa. And fascistic euro-supremacism, now more than ever in full and unopposed control of the EU, will prey for Lebensraum in the mediterranean and northern africa (with US permission). RUS&CN cannot (yet?) oppose the armies/navies of US&EU in either region. in other words the US is about to be flush with cash again… The US’ business is business so the US only wants the cash here; the brinkmanship is only about keeping the EU hysterical/under pressure/fully subjugated, i.e., to keep the EU paying for ever more ruinously expensive US “protection”.
One must realize on this that the EU elites goal for 400 years to take over Russia for their own colonization and greed which behind all this in UKN is fundamentally flawed from the outset.
If Napoleon in 1812 and the Bohemian Corporal in 1941 had achieved a Russian defeat both would have found Europeans from the Atlantic region would not have been adaptable or liked the cold climate of Russia and they would have died in the icy winters or returned home.
They would not have wanted to live there.
You have to be a lean tough Russian or be like an eskimo.
History recorded how the German army was frozen in and stalled in the November 1941 onset of winter in sight of Moscow and never recovered.
Their only sensible option to cut deal with Russia for access to resources where Russia gets fair slice of the cake. But I dont think at this time Russia is in mood to negotiate such a thing.
In a truly Multilateral World, there are not supposed to be leaders, let alone police of the World. For this the world has arrived which I also believe we will leave behind with a New World Order Since the end of World War II the USA has taken the place of the two great colonizing powers, England and France. And after the end of the USSR, the last balance ended and the USA was left to rule the world alone. Or as you say and very well, with the EU15% of the world in charge of the remaining 85%. Of course it had to end. In any case, in the history of mankind, the East still takes much longer to lead the world than the West.
An interesting article, although I certainly don’t agree with all of it.
It seems to me the Europeans are anxious to commit suicide. How else can one interpret their willingness to cut themselves off from Russian coal, oil and gas? Sure gas in European storage will last six months or so, but when the weather gets warm the Europeans should begin refilling storage. If they don’t do so, well, let’s just say the winter of ’22-’23 is going to be tough.
Don’t be fooled by the possibility of importing LNG from abroad. Yes, you can do it but within the limitations of European infrastructure. And LNG is at least 2X as expensive as pipeline gas. Germany, for example, is an export led economy. How competitive is Germany going to be if one of the most basic inputs is 2X as expensive as in the USA?
Despite the above, European elites, their politicians and their msm, are doubling and tripling down on Russophobia and sanctions. At the same time Uncle Sam has announced a “get Russia policy” and I haven’t heard many Europeans disagree. Compromise over Russia’s security needs in the Ukraine would have been the way to go, but it sure looks too late now. The big challenge now would appear to be avoiding WW3.
Not everybody is fooled however: the Euro/US$ rate is now $1.06 to the Euro. The Euro is weaker than anytime in more than five years. That should show everyone where the EU is headed.
The Western elite are not so noticeably cocky anymore.
I agree on the substance of this article, Western democracies are in decline and nothing can prevent their collapse. On the other hand, I think that it is today difficult to predict the when or the how, and even more to foresee what are the threats or consequences of this collapse.
In short, this is not an exhaustive list
– Following a global pandemic of “unknown” but probably human origin
– A possible global food crisis is possible in the near future
– A possible global energy crisis is possible in the near future
– The global ecological situation continues to deteriorate rapidly
– Recently discovered biological weapons could pose a threat to large populations and the level of threat is relatively unknown
– The conflict in Ukraine has a high probability of degenerating into a global conflict and presents risks of nuclear conflict
– The amount and range of armament of all major powers is increasing
….
All these threats are the consequence of the often completely unfounded and arbitrary choice of our “elites” for less than 30 years.
A very possible consequence of these threats is a mass extinction of populations on a planetary scale, and I see no signs today that indicate an elite will to avoid this.
I believe our great-grandparents in 1933 or 1939 did what all sane people do when reality is rationally or morally unacceptable: they refused to see the facts. And when I look at the situation of the world and the analysis that is made of it, that is essentially what I see there. A denial of reality.
It seems to me that we should not wonder if this will happen. You have to ask yourself how you can accept that this may happen.
The EU project in its current form is floundering, not least because the continuously re-elected Atlanticist politicians (of all stripes) and their media-PR retinues have been put there to prevent the torpid electorates from realizing that Europe’s future lies in forging and strengthening mutually-beneficial ties of cooperation with Asian nations, rather than keep looking for direction, approval and shrinking “morsels” from her Exceptionalist handlers across the pond or the S-E Med.
If the ongoing impoverishment of Europeans is not yet deep enough to make them demand of their politicians a long-overdue strategic geopolitical reappraisal, then perhaps it will take something more visceral to collectively jolt them out of their Atlanticist blinkers, like actual pangs of hunger.
Well, wider war has a habit of delivering them in quantity, and the European electorates are being dutifully and tragically herded in that direction by their democratically elected minders.
Collective deception, exploitation, impoverishment, proxy war but firsthand death, that’s the inevitable outcome once you make yourself subservient to nations or ethnic-religious groups driven by a conviction in their own Exceptionalism.
Instead of mustering the strength to utterly crush them, because nothing less will suffice to make them relent.
I would say this is too optimistic of a prognosis.
1. The US definitely wont retreat from Europe because of this. The US is already deploying tens of thousands of additional troops and NATO has already agreed to make their de facto permanent presence on the Russian border also a de jour one. The US will have to be forced from Europe and this will likely require a direct conflict with NATO. Either in the Baltics, in Finland when it joins, or in Romania (in light of Ukraine’s current threat to invade Transnistria with the support of Romanian troops). Only then, when the world clearly sees that the US can’t actually defend its vassals even when officially obligated to, will the US be forced out.
3. Russia doesn’t actually want to be an Empire again. Putin fears this potential because ot severely complicates matters and forces Russia to invest into vassals and get bogged down in their politics. Russia will already have to rebuild Ukraine, what once was a country of 44 million. That alone is hard enough. More likely, Russia will try to take time to ‘rest and digest’ after the Ukraine campaign if given the opportunity (i.e. if Ukraine doesn’t act on its threats to invade Transnistria/Moldova and draw them and Romania into the conflict).
4/5 I also have my doubts on. The globohomo empire is doing everything it can to curtail Russia’s cultural influence and power, and it has powerful bulwarks against it. It would first require the death of the EU and collapse of NATO for Russia to return to prominence in the European theater.
What did the Russians(Soviets) get for saving Europe from Nazi yoke and helping anti colonial movements across the world ,45 years of containment and malignment. The RF answers only to their population and it’s needs, for their preservation.Stop projecting your wishes to the Russians, there won’t be any liberation for Euros this time around,if they consider themselves to be under Imperial yoke, they should rise up and fight for themselves.Truth is these Euros and their new peripheries in Central and Eastern Europe benefit from imperialism and they will fight hard to maintain their current standing in the world pecking order.
Before we reach this glorious conclusion in Batiushka’s analysis, North America will sink into totalitarian barbarism for a spell. Some of us will have to become martyrs before it is overthrown. Martyrdom is not a big part of the Evangelical/Christian Zionist/Prosperity Gospel mindset, and not a part at all of secular materialism. Things will have to get very ugly first.
Canada can go either way. There is a strong divide between the urban south and the resource producing north, where the Truckers’ resistance began. While indigenous people only make up 3% of the Canadian population, they are the majority in much of the sparsely populated north. Culturally, they have much in common with the Chukotkans, and Yakuts of Russia. Canada’s new Governor General, Mary Simon, was instrumental in creating the Inuit Circumpolar Conference of the 80s, which became the Arctic Council. When things start going south, the Native people may be the first to reach out across the Bering Strait.
Well said Father. I too believe that the era that began in 1492 will begin to end in 2022.
A short warning: the last people who declared the end of history seen their global empire collapse in 30 years. There will be no end to history, even in the event of nuclear war, somebody will survive and there will continue to be history.
I hope so.
Christ is risen!
Good article. Two minor points: 1. The European Union was originally a proposal by Hitler, rather than the U.S. 2. I am not so sure that invigorated Christian national identities in Eastern European countries would cause them to be more open to Russian initiatives, in that these same historic Christian national identities were die-cast, over the last 1000 years, in an intense, principled opposition to Russia. Conservative Poland espouses the most anti-Russian position of any current EU vassal state.
I am against both the world hegemony of the United States, and against the world hegemony of Russia or any other country. In my opinion, the author is being carried towards some kind of “intergalactic Russian empire”, and this is superfluous.
“In order to preserve its identity as an imperial nation, protect the integrity of the Orthodox Faith and guarantee the peace of the whole multipolar world, Russia will spread this process of denazification to all”.
—
How is the world hegemony of Russia better than the world hegemony of the USA? Should be more modest…
It’s an interesting vision but relies in my opinion a bit too much on the economical power and social stability of China to function as some kind of Iron Bank or East front protection This is not a given at all. There are many neutral countries who think simply only of their own interests at that moment in time and will not commit to any alliance of postpone the decision as long as possible. For example India. While I’m opposed to all the current unions or states as superstructure, it’s hard to get excited about how large nation states operate. No exception. Personally I’d welcome a regionalism instead while the role of states can slowly diminish and evolve into vehicles for military alliances. Government itself will need to get more decentralized and networked, like the economy.
I would love it this happened, but the article might be overloaded with hopium. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, cheer for Russia, buy gold (and hide it) and expect a rough ride.
This is one of my favorite pieces by this very valued author, I am busy now, since the blog was threatened recently and seems to have stabilized now, printing off everything of his from the archives. This is just balm for the soul, peace for the mind, tough as is the process we are all experiencing now, this is the light at the end of the tunnel. As I have thought and expressed since Feb 24, We are all Russians now.
Thank you for all your articles that I have been following for a while in French on the French Saker. Maybe I’m missing some.
Sorry for my English, I use a translator for my question.
For 1941 we often see in these pages a theory saying that it is the Soviet Union that was going to invade Germany. Hitler would have anticipated this operation by an attack. He thought he could not counter the Red Army. Is this irrelevant?
A little source or lead or find for Ursula von der Leyen’s grandfather would be really great!
