By Peter Koenig
There are no words, other than Monster, not even human monster, that can describe Trump’s appearance before the UN General Assembly last Tuesday, 19 September.
It’s of no use to go through details of the insults he yelled at the word – many others have explained and analyzed that already – and done it well – remains to say that what Trump demonstrated with threats of total devastation of North Korea, war against Iran, total asphyxiation of Venezuela, regime change in Syria – and more – is sheer criminal, war criminal behavior.
Pledging for respect of nations’ sovereignty, yet threatening the world at large – except for Israel -with total annihilation if it doesn’t follow Washington’s orders, is pure hypocrisy; it has never been expressed as desperately before the entire UN body of nations as did Trump last Monday. While some of his predecessors have not talked kindly to this league of nations, expressing threats, lies and humiliations, the extent of Trump’s atrocious behavior has no precedent in the history of the UN.
The ongoing US indiscriminate killing around the globe – tens of millions of people in the last 70 years alone – plus these ferocious, insane threats, and economic strangulations through illegal sanctions, are ripe for a new Nuremburg type tribunal.
It is a typical and dangerous conduct for a dying beast. Lashing out at its surroundings, at the world, as it were – for intimidation, disgrace and foremost to pull as many as possible with the dying monster into its self-made grave.
But the burning question that we have to ask ourselves, is this: Why did almost nobody, safe for Iran and North Korea and perhaps one or the other country representative walk out?
Why did of the more than 180 nations who wish and desire the final demise of this murderous empire, not dare to exit the room of the Monster, the General Assembly, and let Trump speak and yell atrocities to empty walls and to himself?
The New York Times reports that “world leaders were stoic and quiet, barely reacting to his remarks about their countries.”
Why? Out of fear? What fear? – Could and would this military dictatorship, run by “Mad Dog” et al, a top brass military junta, destroy the world as we know it? – I don’t think so.
Is it for the money, because the US is currently footing almost a quarter of the UN budget and is threatening to withdraw her funding, if the UN is not “restructured”, meaning, to become a total puppet of Washington and its deep state? – I don’t think so. Indeed, by 22 September 2017, the US of A had not paid her dues.
Every halfway sane nation knows that the UN already today is barely more than a stooge to Washington, so are most of the UN specialized agencies and international courts that were once created with good intentions, I hope to believe.
So, then why?
Wouldn’t walking out have been a clear act of world solidarity, of a world that stands for peace and not for eternal war, not for a weapons and military based economy, but one that thrives on peace, on people’s development and wellbeing?
A new UN body, à la League of Nations after WWI that stands for peace, could be forged without the rogue nations, such as the United States and Monsters such as Trump. And this at a cost much lower than the current official UN budget of US$ 5.4 Billion. A lot of deadwood overhead could be cut.
Or, is it that almost the entire world, its leaders, have become psychopaths, succumbing to the Stockholm syndrome? – They seek the protection of their very murderer. How sick has our western civilization become? The result of neoliberalism – a ‘modern’ form of fascism that makes people blindly obeying their butcher, confronting their own demise?
It’s high time that we wake up. Better late than never. And the Never is when we have been swallowed by the deadly abyss. Before that very moment, we still have a chance to resist.
Open your eyes and ears and walk away from and boycott Monsters like Trump, and the handlers that have chosen their multi-billionaire bully to frighten the world into submission.
Wake up! And walk out a way – forging a peace solidarity!

Perhaps shock? Shock because that Monster has started by praising nations and they just couldn’t believe the level he has stooped to? And it is quite low indeed!
That does not help… People will have to come to the streets, but that is also not going to happen. Most of them are namely too stupid and they prefer they idiotic Apple products to understanding the evil we all have to face one day…
Sure. But this should have been done already 16 years ago. It should have been done already under Obama´s 8 years deception regime.
The problem is that the majority of our populations are not better than their leaders. We are probably worse.
See Georg Carlin “The public sucks”.
But there is resistance and still pockets of sanity, and God will guide our ways.
And that ain’t all. I’ve been saying this for about 65 of my 88 years. I said, at that time, that the US was becoming a Nazi-like police state. Was I the ONLY one to see what was coming back then? The problem isn’t with the “monsters”; it’s with the dumbed-down street-sheep that let, and encourage, them to grow. We’re a species with a “brick short of a load”.
This is true what Tomsen and Ovaltine speak.
The speech was schizophrenic……. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in the space of minutes and one wonders if the hall was not spellbound and indecisive over which they preferred.
What to do with such audiences? What to do with such speakers?
It may not help, but why not try ridicule?? In hopes that more will pull back from committing or supporting (same thing) monstuosities??
You know how sluggers have their theme songs played in major league stadiums when it’s there turn at bat?
Here’s my suggested theme song for our Monster In Chief, when he comes to bat, to ridicule the fear-mongering halves of his speeches:

Apologies to my Roumanian/Transylvanian friends, but realize you are credited with the inspiration of the myth (?) which apparently became reality in too many American Leaders……And Followers:
A #1 Top 40 hit in 1962, it returned to the charts 11 years later in 1972 at #10
The song is now a Halloween staple……..
Planet Earth, we have a problem.
No need for apology Bro, now the guys and gals from the basement can go there and research in detail. It is a very lucrative business for the tourism industry as well. Nobody bothers them and people are happy to help if they got payed. By the way, Prince Charles has a house there, being a natural guest for many years now.
I saw it coming also…study the history of WW2, and how it ended: with ‘ratlines’ of Nazis directed right into North and South America.
Absolutely, dead right. It has been reported that 70% of Americans support Trump in his threats against other nations, in particular, Syria and Iran as well as North Korea.
With such popular support from his people, it should not come as a surprise then, that the leader of America can make these absurd threats with impunity.
I wonder how these people will feel, when the bullets and bombs start flying, and the destruction begins adding to their woes they are already suffering from Climate change.
I agree very much with your comment, “We’re a species with a “brick short of a load”.
In a funny kind of way, Trump is doing the world a favour.
He is symptomatic of the sheer bellicose insanity of Washington.
The hubris of Wall Street.
The perversion of international civil norms.
My guess is there will be some serious reviewing of relationships with the US in some of the European states, and the Latin American ones..
H is simultaneously trumpeting war and protectionism.
Is he deliberately hamming it as a warning to those otherwise content with the status quo that yes, indeed, the US is owned lock, stock and barrel by the crazies in the basement?
How much longer can the political class wallow in complacency?
Walk away? Walk away to where? There is no point on the shoreline of the entire globe that one could be the bigger man and ‘just walk away’ to. Perhaps these people have come to realize this. Perhaps these people elected to bear witness, unmoving, unflinching, to this foolish display. Perhaps they have come to realize that the loudest one in the room truly is the weakest, in truth. One can surely hope that such was the case. I know that I do.
I think that by staying to listen to the verbal garbage from Trump was the best option. They were propbably too stunned to move – Melania’s face said it all.
That way Trump stood before the assembly and revealed himself to be a ‘barking dog’ and a “mentally deranged US dotard” -as Kim Jong Un named him. That word ‘dotard’ is now the most researched.
It’s rather amusing that Kim has a better grasp and usage of the English language than the twitterisms Trump writes. LOL
I think every other envoy (except Bibi) present has in their own way refuted and called out Trump for his genocidal rant. If they walked out they would not have been able to counter with their own world view.
The emperor has no clothes.
It reflects the sliding into second childhood of the ‘land of the free and home of the brave’.
These world leaders probably don’t have many illusions about the U.S.; Trump is simply too crude to put a happy face on sinister U.S. policies that have existed for decades and are really driven by other forces then Trump. If they do decide to explicitly act against the U.S., they will probably want something less symbolic then a walkout and which is carefully thought through. The U.S. is wrecking its empire without help from anyone. Leaving the dollar is a form of resistance.
From what I’ve read, netanyahoo was rather pleased with his boy toy trump.
In the same way as a puppeteer is pleased when the audience focuses on the puppet, not on the strings or the man pulling them.
Here is the play: Zionists are hell bent on global domination. They cannot do it by themselves, being numerically weak. They have infested the US body politic and it does their bidding. It is wreaking global havoc and sowing chaos onto everything it touches, see Libya, Ukraine, etc.
This chaos will eventually lead to calls for “one world government” and once that is is place the Zionists will assume control of it and have their global domination.
That is why resistance to US hegemony is being so demonised in the Zionist dominated mainstream media.
Thinking on that matter some more, the best way to bring an end to the puppet show would be for speakers at the UN to focus on the puppet strings, by pointing out the degree to which US actions are dictated by Israel.
Well, the UN has very nice digs on the lower east side of New York City. Perhaps they should vacate these nice modern buildings and move elsewhere. I can think of several venues. and leave the USA to own fate. I’m really sorry that more countries didn’t walk out on Trump’s diatribe and leave him lecturing to an empty hall. would have served him right, and I’m a US ‘citizen’…..
Trump is a swamp monster and the rest are empty shadows.
Where is the Chavez smelling the sulfur?
Where’s an Allende, or a Mandela or even a Qaddafi …?
Yes, Trump is a red-cape distraction by the plutocratic matadors in charge, … but we should be less distracted by the reality tv show host and focus on the dark creatures moving in the deep shadows.
The problems are not just Trump and his ilk, but also the communal silence that follows them around — thanks to corporate media control and emerging fascist culture pervading the rising generations.
from The Sociopath Next door:
“….To illustrate I propose an imaginary society of exactly one hundred adults, in a group that conforms precisely to know statistics. This means that of the one hundred people in my hypothetical society, 4 are psychopaths – they have no conscience. Of the remaining 96 decent citizens, all of whom do have consciences, 62.5% will obey authority more or less without question, quite possibly the authority of one of the more aggressive and controlling sociopaths in the crowd. This leaves 36 people who have both conscience and the strength to bear the burdens of their actions, a little more than a third of the group. These are not impossible odds, but they are not easy ones, either. ..”
I’ve found this to be an excellent book. In my opinion, probably the most telling character trait cited by the author as characteristic of sociopaths is the active and continuous seeking of pity. Most people dislike being pitied by others. They actually find it shameful to need pity. Sociopaths have no sense of shame, however. Being pitied is, for them, a useful tool for the manipulation of others.
Jonathan,
Does that apply to countries?
I’m thinking of a certain country in the Middle East….. and it’s endless whine – fest.
Which happens to be highly lucrative for the professional whiners.
I have had a view for some time that that particular (((state))) was formed by a narcissistic cult that started with the priests that came down the hill carrying tablets they proclaimed were the word of god. That manipulation of gullible tribesmen was the foundation of a structure that has narcissism and its sociopathic and indeed psychopathic elements built into it. That structure has clearly been durable through the many trials and travails of history and survived to continue wreaking havoc on all who come into contact with it, as is the case with any contact with malignant narcissism. Most adhering to the religion that is at the heart of the narcissistic manipulation are its victims as much as they are its enablers and implementors.
Managing such narcissism is first a case of recognising it for what it is and the damage it does, then isolating the narcissist so that their actions and the effects of those actions are obvious to all involved. Once that has been achieved the narcissist must be isolated and disempowered. Do not expect any of this to be accepted willingly or civilly by the narcissist, or it’s enablers who are simply dupes under it’s spell.
@ Eimear Hmm, I can’t imagine which one? ;-)
Is there such a thing as a “national character”? We seem to tend to believe that the English are stoic, the French are romantic etc. Does that concept have any real basis in fact? Or are those convenient generalizations and stereotypes? Perhaps a nation can be collectively sociopaths? Rather a disturbing thought.
From an eschatological point of view things are swimming along for the Ptolemaic King of the South with every step further isolating to produce thereby the end state required wherein upon his move against the King of the North he finds himself at war without allies and on his final journey.
One wonders what it would take to break up the Five Eyes alliance, or ANZUS.
A good commentary Peter !~ Hits the nail directly on the head – passivity –
But I think that the UN is a passive institution – its designed that way – that the leaders just sit and don’t really interact with each other – its like a show –
But yeah – a UN without the US & perhaps Britain ? I wonder what other rogue states you had in mind – Oh – I guess Canada – this kind of organization already exists in the BRICS nations – I’m sure – although I don’t know the anacronym off the top of my head –
And a Nuremburg revisitation – hmmm I think these things may have to wait in the wings until Russia and multipolar world have been working without the US $ for another few years –
Its like having a neighbor who only want war – but why have war, when if you wait a year or three – he may die- all on his own –
Avoiding war is true diplomacy –

Mr Koenig asks, “Or, is it that almost the entire world, its leaders, have become psychopaths, succumbing to the Stockholm syndrome?”
The word “psychopaths” prompted me write this comment. Having observed colour revolutionaries at close range I’ve come to the conclusion that a lot of them are at least close to being psychopaths. The Empire breeds them and appeals to them. You need their mentality to support blind war, hatred, violence, destruction and whatever the Empire practices.
The Stockholm syndrome may be important, but so is propaganda in all its guises, according to which the US is always right.
Could anyone contrast the reactions of Trump’s immediate audience to his speech to those of mainstream US media? The silence of his audience may be read differently, but the media certainly aren’t keeping quiet about the speech.
“Wake up! And walk out a way – forging a peace solidarity!” Mr Koenig writes. How do we go about doing this?
After having read Steve Jobs’biography (and then about 10 books on psychopaths) -I’ve come to a conclusion that without understanding how psychopaths think and operate we have no chance of understanding how Western world works.
Most people have a wrong idea about psychopaths – we are brainwashed to believe you must be a serial killer to be a psychopath. In reality only about 20% of psychos are violent – the rest of them just want to exploit others as our politicians do . They are often very charming, great actors , they lie outrageously and never admit their lies. Some are not charming (like Hilary or Trump – they lie a lot but are not such good actors).
World’s capitals of psychopathy are London, LA and NY. I’ve lived in all these places and I think London is the worst by far.
Empires and former empires promote psychos because if you are always waging wars, psychos are very useful – if they kill they don’t even blink (normal people find it hard to kill others). I think that’s why we have so many psychos among the Anglosheeple. Eastern Europe or even Latin America are much less psychopathic.
In Serbia where I am from most people have no idea about what it mans to be a psycho – but they don’t tolerate dishonest, manipulative , exploitative people . If you screw me – I will punish you – that kind of thing is the policy – we don’t care about the actual diagnosis.
In Anglosaxon world it’s much easier to be a criminal and to hide – mosst friendships are pretty shallow, cousins are treated like strangers, social interaction is pretty shallow and superficial. Eastern Europe, Latin America etc are much harder to hide for psychopaths – plus children are encouraged to play, fight, make friends etc, test their social theories in action. In the US young people’s friendships are quite shallow they lack meaningful social context to evolve mentally – that’s why they mostly are very low in confidence.
To cut the long story short – look into psychos – everything will finally make sense.
and once you learn – diagnosing them is quite easy.
Some cultures are psychopathic – i.e. Zionists (they turn other people’s/culture’s trust etc against them so to exploit them as do individual psychos).
I recommend The Sociopath Next Door and another book written by the guy who invented the Psychopath Test – I think it’s called Without Conscience. The Psychopath Test by a FT journalist is also quite good an dillustrative.
Have you had a look at Andrew Lobaczewski’s “Political Ponerology”? It takes the science a step further and discusses how organizations get corrupted by the dynamics among people with different deficits, the star of which is, of course, psychopathy. In short, the psychopaths find useful fools and play them for all they’re worth. Lobaczewski outlines the different roles played in taking a benevolent organization and turning it on its head until it is spouting paramoral nonsense and causing all kinds of harm (as we see above with the USA). As I was reading it, I just happened to be witnessing the very same dynamic working out in an organization I was involved in–could put one or two names to each role Lobaczewski defined. Because I knew what was happening, I could put a stop to it, and the organization limped off, but has recovered, with all of the various trouble-makers gently persuaded to go elsewhere, and at this point, ten years later, is part of a healthy community. I think Lobaczewski’s insights are very good to have for guarding an organization of community and protecting its integrity.
Thank you for bringing up the “ponerology” view of evil, Patricia. There is this website at which some reading may be done.

Excerpts from the book and the story of the difficulties surrounding its publication can be read at the web site.
” The original manuscript of this book went into the furnace minutes before a secret police raid in Communist Poland. The second copy, painfully reassembled by scientists working under impossible conditions of violence and repression, was sent via courier to the Vatican. Its receipt was never acknowledged – the manuscript and all valuable data lost. In 1984, the third and final copy was written from memory by the last survivor of the original researchers: Andrew Lobaczewski. Zbigniew Brzezinski blocked its publication.
“After half a century of suppression, this book is finally available. ”

Thanks folks for your comments. I never thought that looking into psychos would make sense of a lot that is happening in the world.
On the bright side and the silver lining in Trumps dark UN rant, is that he’s tipped his hand and candidly revealed the true face of the moral bankruptcy and homicidal intentions of the American imperial empire for all the world and it’s leaders to plainly see. So they are now faced with either extricating themselves from it or be directly implicated in US war crimes of aggression and genocide. History will judge their compliance or shameful cowardly silence harshly. I expect that for those with any conscientiousness at all, it was a sobering reminder of their complicity with a hegemony that appears to be bent on taking us all to hell in nuclear confrontation with Russia and China. It will be interesting to see, what countries as a result will now realign themselves with the rising East.
Why do people “rubber neck” at car accidents?
The world is full of people at the moment who will stand by and watch someone bleed out while holding a phone in their hand, but instead of calling for paramedics they are filming it for you-tube.
Trumps speech at the UN was received as such – everyone watching and recording, a witness to the carnage but not willing to get involved for fear of association, entrapment, lawyers, and just a smidgen of aloofness.

Thanks Peter, for highlighting this interesting aspect.
When Hitler came to power in the thirties last century, one of the first things he did was throwing away all international agreement with Germany.
While nobody walked away in the UN meeting, for the whole world to see, was that the USA essentially did the same. We have the 4th Reich.
I’m referring to the JCPA agreement between Iran and the USA, Russia, China, France UK and Germany. And this agreement was not with the Obama administration, but with the USA as a nation.
When the USA now wants to get rid of that, it is all clear that any agreement with the USA is null and void when the Deep State, Israel or Saudi Arabia commands otherwise. Trump and his administration are just for decoration, like traffic lights in a third world nation.
Loud and clear this was shown again for the whole world. And nobody protested, because they now it already.
It’s like standing with some people together, and one of them has a bad breath. Everybody notices, but nobody says it.
But when they come home, they will certainly say it.
It’s not just Trump we have to fear. Trump is just the front man, just the puppet for whomever it is that really runs the American state. Whatever Trump may or may not personally believe or want to do is completely irrelevant now as he has been totally castrated by his antagonists in the Deep State. In fact, these powerful insiders seem to control the words and actions of every single legislator in the congress with the exception of Rand Paul, the only fellow in the lot who balks at taking American aggression to the limit at every opportunity. I’m not defending Trump any longer because of his possible good intentions. It doesn’t matter a whit if he is secretly Jesus Christ returned to Earth, because his stated policies are now entirely congruent with the most rabid of the warmongering neocons. Trump sounds like the reincarnation of Hitler now when he speaks before the U.N. because such words are the only form of speech that is rewarded by the media, the politicians and the influential insiders. They have bent him to their will. It is many others in positions of power than simply Trump who want Armageddon.
It is not just Trump, or the Republicans, or the Democrats who need to be rooted out to save America and the world, it is essentially the entirety of the mercenary congressional tools owned by those plutocrats behind the scenes who call every shot that need to be taken down. Unfortunately, I see no realistic way of accomplishing this. I see no mechanism, at least nothing short of a violent revolution that can effectively remove them from power, and the chances of that being successful against the entrenched police state are virtually nil. It will not be enough, and it won’t work, but the only remaining expression of resistance to these devils that have seized control of our government is to vote against every single incumbent in every election, be they Democrat or Republican, and even that does not guarantee that the independents, if they could be elected, wouldn’t be worse. The tyranny has become so deeply entrenched in America, that it will require an intervention by the outside world, and that may be too much for the world to pay. Maybe an American economic collapse, if it doesn’t drag down the entire world economy, could change the mindless lock-step thinking and abject fear and cowardice that runs through the entire U.S. populace. Otherwise, Trump or whomever replaces him will sooner or later put his bellicose words into action and throw the entire planet back into the stone age.
“The tyranny has become so deeply entrenched in America, that it will require an intervention by the outside world, and that may be too much for the world to pay. Maybe an American economic collapse, if it doesn’t drag down the entire world economy, could change the mindless lock-step thinking and abject fear and cowardice that runs through the entire U.S. populace.”
I have also thought long and hard about this as well. Democracy is basically dead — about in the same metaphorical condition as modern Greece whence it derived. It is an emergent quality of civilized peoples and when the underlying substrata collapse then the tyrant phase begins and the ‘drowning man’ syndrome applies — don’t get too close to the flailing arms etc.
This condition is likely cyclical but and a democratic process may return to prominence as the dominant governing process, but until the fever runs its course the social plague (W. Reich) will determine outcomes. Hardly the end of the world — although it may feel like it for embedded participants — ask survivors of Nazi Germany, nuked Japan and more recently the dissolved USSR. In fact history indicates that their ‘born again’ socio-economic renewal process produce outstanding progress. I expect Syria in 10 years time will be a demonstrable wonderland of Sino-Russian participation in guided reconstruction.
Indeed, it seems this plutocratic class (if that is a way of describing it) is the active semi-conscious element. One does not need to invoke Maxism to see that a spoilt privileged set of self-defining rent-seeking ‘exceptionals’ are seeking to monopolize the conditions of life which sustain their privileges (from beyond the rule of law to Bolivian cocaine, Afghan poppies, travel, housing, etc).
Therefore policies of exclusion, whether in the boardrooms of corporations, Saudi palaces or the Occupied Lands of Palestine by apartheid Zionist regimes of dubious origins, are not unexpected.
Trump just happens to show this inner core ugliness more clearly in an American context. Voting won’t help when everyone and thing is corrupted. One won’t even be able to offer one’s daughters, as Lot found out in some old biblical narratives. Indeed this meme is somewhat predictive of a ‘Rand Paul’ effect.
Candidate Trump’s presidential function was to face the facts and force the system and culture to shift across from a will-based power model towards a more compassionate approach — perhaps similar to what the UK’s Jeremy Corbyn appears to represent (in opposition at least). Clearly President Trump has failed in this Herculean task of cleaning the stables — unless, perhaps, one re-frames his drift towards the military brass as a necessary preparation for the emerging mess ahead.
Total cynicism aside on the duplicity of he and Clinton (as representatives of this plutocratic set) to lie their way into power, I suspect it is just too complex for him and those around him who may have some desire for necessary core change. The American public are divided and this suits just fine the usual suspects and beneficiaries of the status quo — divide and rule etc.
From what I can see from the remote sidelines beyond the US borders (but not its hegemony), is a system in crisis ‘begging’ for an external ‘alien’ factor to save it from it’s own emerging national psychosis. The old narratives have largely run their course and they (the plutocrats) have indeed sold the rope (mainly to China) — Lenin’s “The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them” just needs a little tweak: the 21st century rope will be for them to hang themselves. Putin and Xi clearly understand this and although Chavez did not live long enough to see his ’21st century socialism’ flourish, it is indeed still a very likely scenario.
As to what ‘single thing’ can be done to purge the previously-democratic capitalist system(s) of this parasitic class of neocon ‘exceptionals’? There is likely no single silver bullet but one fundamental dynamic in changing the operational environment (niche) to deny the aberrant ‘species’ would be to return to true capitalism and remove the Reserve/Central Bank effect. This parasitic class (the Wall St Gangs and their clients) are living the very good life on the phantom QE economy. Overall it is not unlike a opium dream world in which the visions of the public are divorced from the real-world dark dens and alleyways of their crumbling (infrastructure and societal) worlds. Opioid crisis anyone? Take away the punch bowl; or go down like the Titanic? Based on his actions, I suggest that Trump and his Gang are preparing the 1st Class passengers for the few (tax free) lifeboats there are, and the orchestra (mainstream media and a few old Uncle Toms in Hollywood) are playing the mesmerizing game. The lower classes will have to swim for it.
What ‘debt-ism’ has shown is that money is no longer necessary or sufficient for this ruling elite. 21st century Power and Despotism travel on the same (media) train. The USA did not reach escape velocity (other than in Hollywood escapism) and now is falling back to the real world. The entangled reasons are far too complex to understand — and often seemingly unrelated and self-contradicting.
But some threads and themes can be detected if we look for correlations — e.g. Saudi influence and the suppression of effective interest bearing investments. For example, it escapes me why the Saudi/Wahhabi influence can clearly be seen in the various petro-dollar scams and theological terrorism underpinning much of the troubles in the Middle East and elsewhere, and yet the effective removal of interest-based reward from the financial systems (mainly affecting the retiring classes) through QE interventions is not seen as aligning very well with that Islamic prohibition? Causally entwined or not, they appear to be co-developing (at least in respect to the non-elites).
I don’t think a world-wide organization a-la League of Nations would last very long without the powerful criminal states, such as US of A.
Someone explained it quite well in regards to the powers of veto in the Security Council – without it, you would simply not get the large powerful states to show up at all. They would simply ignore the whole thing, which would bring even more chaos, death and misery.
On the walkout, I wholeheartedly agree. They should have walked out. Alas, many of them depend on the $$ handouts from the Carrot Top, and many are worried for being targetted next. Corruption and fear. That’s how the world works with US at the helm, unfortunately…
As a Midwestern peasant in flyover country I’m deeply disturbed and horrified by this vile threat of our “Agent Orange” against the world. Is it just a coincidence that every nation Trump threatens to anihilate has refused to be part of the Rothschilds bankster empire?

No, it’s not.

Even the Russian Federation has a central bank, member of the BIS.
This an interesting one. Its president is Elvira Nabiullina, she is good and a trustee of president Putin.
In its describing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Bank_of_Russia there is also something interesting: “Under Russian law, half of the bank’s profit must be channeled into the government’s federal budget.”
What would the obscure family think about that?

is trump really playing devil’s advocate?
he does not control anything now. foreign policy is made by the deep state.
foreign policy is strongarmed by the military. trump gave away comand of his armies, to the generals. is he diluting the presidential power ? on purpose ? dividing the power structures ?
a house divided internally cannot stand.
the us has to follow through now on nk. or lose credibility in the world.
can it follow through, and fulfill it’s ( Donald’s ) threat’s.
that is the generals decision now.
can anyone interpret his actions and deeds otherwise?

Trust the western press to only report the name-calling in this reply. No chance for the North Korean view to have a hearing. Instead we are left with the usual caricatures.
I like Peter Koenig but the real reason most people didn’t walk out is that’s not how they do things.
It won’t help engaging with this multi-polar world if we continue to have western, TV and movie expectations. The speed of reaction among most of the world is not like a slick, scripted Hollywood fantasy where individuals are bullet proof, have lighting reactions, and always have the right thing to say.
If it’s time for anyone to grow up, perhaps we observers in the west could think about this.
How many times have people impatiently demanded that Russia “must do something” in reaction to incidents in Ukraine or Syria? And yet who’s winning in the end? Slow and steady, simple one-time warnings, no bluff, no bluster, no retreat. These were diplomats at the UN. It wasn’t their job to react. It was their nation’s job to absorb, to consider, to reflect, and to chart their future course.
Bad enough that the US is broken and, as Koenig truly says, wants to drag the world down with it. But no one has to stoop to this kind of drama. Rather, follow Russia’s example and raise the discourse up.
Who ARE you America? Who are YOU, Donald Trump?
The sixth President of the United States, and US Ambassador to Russia John Quincy Adams
“Adams first visited Russia in 1781 as French-language interpreter for U.S. envoy Francis Dana. He served in St. Petersburg during Napoleon’s invasion of Russia, strolled along the banks of the Neva with Czar Alexander I, and visited the Observatory in Pulkovo Heights. At the request of dictionary author Noah Webster, he provided books of Russian grammar and vocabulary, the beginning of Russian studies in the United States. His infant daughter died and was buried in St. Petersburg.”

said THIS in his “America Goes Not Abroad in Search of Monsters to Destroy” speech July 4, 1821 after reading the Declaration of Independence:
“Wherever the standard of freedom and independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be. But she goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. She will recommend the general cause, by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example.
She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself, beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom. The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force. The frontlet upon her brows would no longer beam with the ineffable splendor of freedom and independence; but in its stead would soon be substituted an imperial diadem, flashing in false and tarnished lustre the murky radiance of dominion and power. She might become the dictatress of the world: she would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit.

The entire speech, which I have printed out to read this morning. At first glance, it does not appear schizophrenic as the one DT delivered Monday. Maybe some years in Russia rubbed off on JQ Adams??? Different perspectives do help!
To some like Peter Koenig, it is clear that DT is an imperial monster.
To others it is clear that America as a whole is an Imperial monster with a distinct minority of persons who tomo’s quote describes as ” people who have both conscience and the strength to bear the burdens of their actions” but a majority which are putty in the hands of the psychpaths.
I am willing to consider that DT is much like the remaining Americans that tomo’s quote describes as:
“decent citizens, all of whom do have consciences, 62.5% will obey authority more or less without question, quite possibly the authority of one of the more aggressive and controlling sociopaths in the crowd.”
He could be another secondary psychopath, like some of the formerly decent human beings (Pence, in his idealistic youth, a follower of JFK!!) in the “62.5%” that are unconscious (or became unconscious, seduced by power and privilege, to serve the globalist monsters…..) and can easily go the wrong way, in fact have been going the wrong way most of their lives….. (that’s what allowed the rot within America to spread…..cowardice, fear, unconsciousness!! ) let’s face it: Hitlery or Trump, we Do get what we deserve!
OR, DT could be more like one of my favorite interlocutors in the Moveable Feast Cafe, who repeats “love” like a mantra, identifies with the Donald, and likes him (“Hey, if he’s ANYTHING like me, that’s GOT to be good, right???”) and expressed confidence in Trump (amidst the rest of his standard “thing”) among other things, because “he’s gonna take care of North Korea”.
OMG!! Embarrassing to be an American sometimes, even in the Vineyard of the Saker Moveable Feast Cafe.
Now I Do hope that DT is like this person, because this person is intelligent enough to change. Will he? Will DT? Will ENOUGH of the “62.5%” that are too weak or unconscious to resist the psychopaths be capable of the required change in them?
The answer to these questions will probably determine the outcome for humanity, IMHO.
If Trump can’t do it, because he, like the 62.5% that are 99% asleep, can’t resist the psychopaths, then it’s “NEXT!!”……if we survive Trump’s and THEIR failure.
I think it is possible that Trump may not fail if enough of those “62.5%” (I’m optimistic…I think 1/6 might be enough, because like Thomas Paine said “One real American is worth 10 Tories born in America” in words to that effect.)…..you don’t need a majority….ever, as nice as that would be, tell me when that EVER existed in the past, anywhere!
However, I am nearly certain that Trump WILL fail if Americans (including my brother interlocutor in the Cafe) stay right where they are, in the thrall of monsters and horror movies despite their consoling mantras about peace and love and The American Way.
Enough of Talking the Talk. Time to Walk the Walk. Maybe the Donald will join. Maybe he can’t! Just doesn’t have it in him! That’s a distinct possibility, isn’t it???
BUT: Don’t let him be YOUR excuse. Don’t let YOU be HIS excuse.
That’s the beast of Apocalipse…don’t forget when you hear Trump you are hearing Israel and all the pharisees who own that country and America. The beast is going to attack!
Speak loudly and carry a very small, ineffective stick.
The louder the shrieks from Washington and New York, the greater the world’s conviction US Generals and the CIA do not know how to deploy their hardware and personnel effectively.
Trump, surrounded by generals, stalemated by Kim, unable to overcome Russian control over the outcome in Syria, besieged on all sides domestically, appears very stressed. He’s unable to drain the swamp, clean up the corruption or even pursue the Trillions missing from the Pentagon, HUD, Fannie, Freddie, or anywhere else in the bureaucracy.
So much for the changes he promised.
In Florence there is a bronze statue of Hercules battling Antaeus. Antaeus holds Hercules upside down and is about to bash his head on a rock. Hercules with relish firmly grasps Antaeus’ tentacles. America’s dilemma.
It ain’t monster.
First, they muzzled him.
Second, they neutered him.
Then they circumcised him.
And then they converted him to a puppet.

Yes, the Trump speech was truly depressing. “America First” was interpreted by many during his campaign to mean an end to interventionism but it has been changed into interventionism on steroids. The speech also seemed to have two speechwriters one appealing to those with multipolar world views and the other to his hegemonic American audience: USA!USA!USA!.
Nigel Farage, the so-called libertarian English politician heard the “sovereign nations” bit and cheered for Trump, his friend, but he glossed over the bellicose bits apparently missing the threat to murder 25 million North Koreans most of whom can barely afford a bicycle let alone bomb the USA back to the stone age as many Americans appear to believe they can.
Even “freedom loving” Americans in the alternate media like “Alex Jones” and his crew continued to embrace Trump and their own misshapen ideas about both Korea and Iran formed by years of incessant war propaganda and their support of Israel. The sheer lack of historical depth and balance in the thinking of many, if not most, of the American commentators, and by extension most Americans, almost leads one to despair for the world.
As I said it was a very depressing performance.
Mr. Koenig might want to take note of two leaders who weren’t even in the room to begin with ….. Putin and Xi.
Interesting, because like the G-20, this is an opportunity to have “sideline” meetings with other leaders without having the arrangements of a formal summit. Apparently neither Putin nor Xi think that Trump is even worth talking to at a time of increased world tensions.
I differ with Mr. Koenig on the wisdom of walking out on Trump. That would make his day. Many in his constituency would love to see the UN mothballed. As a longtime trade union participant, I have learned that reacting to such provocations is not always the best tactic. In labour its called wildcatting, and the bosses love it.Many commentators don’t seem to get this. They think Trump is just an idiot who has lost control of himself.I believe that, on the contrary, his bellicosity is very shrewdly calculated.A delegate walkout would provide the very excuse for a takedown of the UN. It would be the excuse for what in labour is called a lockout. As deeply flawed and even corrupt as the UN has been at times, without it the field is left completely clear for NATO to expand its already criminal activities in the vacuum created by such action.Putin and Xi are aware of this.Their tactic of absence is a shrewd way of remaining without honouring the skunk or his tottering empire.
Rob, we have another commenter called Rob who has been commenting here longer than you. Would you please change your name to Rob1 (amended here) – so there is no confusion between you and original Rob. Thx. Mod
Perhaps Matthew Lee of Inner City Press, whose beat covered UN Headquarters, can shed some light on the UNGA’s unnaccountable behavior. We may be able to separate the amorality of the nations at large, from the school for international gangsters that is the UN today.
Matthew had much to say on 21st Century Wire’s show, even elbowing out the excellent Vanessa Beeley, the other guest of Patrick Henningsen. Matthew’s questions so enraged the UN toads they assigned him a minder who ‘vetted’ every question he wanted to ask, before he addressed the askee. He was eventually escorted out physically, so paranoid were these crims, that their global scams not be further recorded.

Every civilisation reaches a point where it self destructs as its own bloated corruption feeds on itself.
This one is following the same route others have taken.
Be patient and observant and wait for the Phoenix of a new civilisation rise from the ashes of this one.
Just think of Hillary in Trump’s place.
