Washington will not consider Russian proposals on no expansion of NATO, and has no intention of even discussing the idea. So much for “dialogue”.
by Pepe Escobar, posted with the author’s permission and widely cross-posted
It was the first high-level Russia-NATO meeting since 2019 – coming immediately after the non sequitur of the U.S.-Russia “security guarantee” non-dialogue dialogue earlier in the week in Geneva.
So what happened in Brussels? Essentially yet another non-dialogue dialogue – complete with a Kafkaesque NATO preface: we’re prepared for dialogue, but the Kremlin’s proposals are unacceptable.
This was a double down on the American envoy to NATO, Julianne Smith, preemptively blaming Russia for the actions that “accelerated this disaster”.
By now every sentient being across Eurasia and its European peninsula should be familiar with Russia’s top two, rational demands: no further NATO expansion, and no missile systems stationed near its borders.
Now let’s switch to the spin machine. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg’s platitudes were predictably faithful to his spectacular mediocrity. On the already pre-empted dialogue, he said it was “important to start a dialogue”.
Russia, he said, “urged NATO to refuse to admit Ukraine; the alliance responded by refusing to compromise on enlargement”. Yet NATO “welcomed bilateral consultations” on security guarantees.
NATO also proposed a series of broad security consultations, and “Russia has not yet agreed, but has not ruled out them either.”
No wonder: the Russians had already noted, even before it happened, that this is noting but stalling tactics.
The Global South will be relieved to know that Stoltenberg defended NATO’s military blitzkriegs in both Kosovo and Libya: after all “they fell under UN mandates”. So they were benign. Not a word on NATO’s stellar performance in Afghanistan.
And then, the much-awaited clincher: NATO worries about Russian troops “on the border with Ukraine” – actually from 130 km to 180 km away, inside European Russian territory. And the alliance considers “untrue” that expansion is “an aggressive act”. Why? Because “it spreads democracy”.
Bomb me to democracy, baby
So here’s the NATO gospel in a flash. Now compare it with the sobering words of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
Grushko carefully enounced how “NATO is determined to contain Russia. The United States and its allies are trying to achieve superiority in all areas and in all possible theaters of military operations.” That was a veiled reference to Full Spectrum Dominance, which since 2002 remains the American gospel.
Grushko also referred to “Cold War-era containment tactics”, and that “all cooperation [with Russia] has been halted” – by NATO. Still, “Russia honestly and directly pointed out to NATO that a further slide of the situation could lead to dire consequences for European security.”
The conclusion was stark: “The Russian Federation and NATO do not have a unifying positive agenda at all.”
Virtually all Russophobic factions of the bipartisan War Inc. machine in Washington cannot possibly accept that there should be no forces stationed on European states that were not members of NATO in 1997; and that current NATO members should attempt no military intervention in Ukraine as well as in other Eastern European, Transcaucasian, and Central Asian states.
On Monday in Geneva, Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov had already stressed, once again, that Russia’s red line is unmovable: “For us, it’s absolutely mandatory to make sure that Ukraine never, never, ever becomes a member of NATO.”
Diplomatic sources confirmed that in Geneva, Ryabkov and his team had for all practical purposes to act like teachers in kindergarten, making sure there would be “no misunderstandings”.
Now compare it with the U.S. State Department’s Ned Price, speaking after those grueling eight hours shared between Ryabkov and Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman: Washington will not consider Russian proposals on no expansion of NATO, and has no intention of even discussing the idea.
So much for “dialogue”.
Ryabkov confirmed there was no progress. Referring to his didacticism, he had to stress, “We are calling on the U.S. to demonstrate a maximum of responsibility at this moment. Risks related to a possible increase of confrontation shouldn’t be underestimated.”
To say, in Ryabkov’s words, that “significant” Russian effort has been made to persuade the Americans that “playing with fire” is not in their interests is the euphemism of the young century.
Let me sanction you to oblivion
A quick recap is crucial to understand how things could have derailed so fast.
NATO’s not exactly secret strategy, from the beginning, has been to pressure Moscow to directly negotiate with Kiev on Donbass, even though Russia is not mentioned in the Minsk Agreements.
While Moscow was being forced to become part of the Ukraine/Donbass confrontation, it barely broke a sweat smashing a coup cum color revolution in Belarus. Afterwards, the Russians assembled in no time an impressive strike force – with corresponding military infrastructure – in European Russia territory to respond in lightning quick fashion in case there was a Ukrainian blitzkrieg in Donbass.
No wonder an alarmed NATOstan had to do something about the notion of fighting Russia to the last impoverished Ukrainian. They may at least have understood that Ukraine would be completely destroyed.
The beauty is how Moscow turned things around with a new geopolitical jiu-jitsu move. Ukro-dementia encouraged by NATO – complete with empty promises of becoming a member – opened the way for Russia to demand no further NATO expansion, with the withdrawal of all military infrastructure from Eastern Europe to boot.
It was obvious that Ryabkov, in his talks with Sherman, would refuse any suggestion that Russia should dismantle the logistical infrastructure set up in its own European Russia territory. For all practical purposes, Ryabkov smashed Sherman to bits. What was left was meek threats of more sanctions.
Still, it will be a Sisyphean task to convince the Empire and its NATO satrapies not to stage some sort of military adventure in Ukraine. That’s the gist of what Ryabkov and Grushko said over and over again in Geneva and Brussels. They also had to stress the obvious: if further sanctions are imposed on Russia, there would be severe blowback especially in Europe.
But how is it humanly possible for seasoned pros like Ryabkov and Grushko to argue, rationally, with a bunch of amateur blind bats such as Blinken, Sullivan, Nuland and Sherman?
There has been some serious speculation on the timeframe ahead for Russia to in fact not even bother to listen to the American “baby babble” (copyright Maria Zakharova) anymore. Could be around 2027, or even 2025.
What’s happening next is that the five-year extension of the new START treaty expires in February 2026. Then there will be no ceiling for nuclear strategic weapons. The Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline to China will make Gazprom even less dependent on the European market. The combined Russia-China financial system will become nearly impervious to U.S. sanctions. The Russia-China strategic partnership will be sharing even more substantial military tech.
All of that is way more consequential than the dirty secret that is not a secret in the current “security guarantees” kabuki: the exceptionalist, “indispensable” nation is congenitally incapable of giving up on the forever expansion of NATO to, well, outer space.
At the same time, the Russians are very much aware of a quite prosaic truth; the U.S. will not fight for Ukraine.
So welcome to Instagrammed Irrationalism. What happens next? Most possibly a provocation, with the possibility, for instance, of a chemical black ops to be blamed on Russia, followed by – what else – more sanctions.
The package is ready. It comes in the form of a bill by Dem senators supported by the White House to bring “severe costs” to the Russian economy in case Moscow finally answers their prayers and “invades” Ukraine.
Sanctions would directly hit President Putin, Prime Minister Mishustin, Foreign Minister Lavrov, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Gen Gerasimov, and “commanders of various branches of the Armed Forces, including the Air Force and Navy.”
Targeted banks and financial institutions include Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Moscow Credit Bank, Alfa-Bank, Otkritie Bank, PSB, Sovcombank, Transcapitalbank, and the Russian Direct Investment Fund. They would all be cut off from SWIFT.
If this bill sounds like a declaration of war, that’s because it is. Call it the American version of “dialogue”.
In fact they keep talking about Russia “again invading Ukraine”. The Western media is really Karl Rovian isn’t it? “We make our own reality…”
Well, that’s OK – as long as they keep it to themselves. In my book, someone who “makes his own reality” is called a lunatic.
John O’Sullivan in 1839 claimed the entire world for US property.

Megalomania and fanaticism paired with schizophrenia is never a good combination.
Seems to be a large part of the US DNA, eh?
Since prior to 1776. The Quebec Act of 1766 was designed to stop insurrection in Canada initiated by unrest in the 13 colonies. One of the primary reasons for the revolution was a decree against any further expansion west of the Appalachians. I wrote an article ‘Manifest Destiny to PNAC’ many years ago detailing all this.
US cultural indoctrination tells them that they beat the North American Natives, the British Empire, the Spanish Empire, Mexico, the Germans twice and the Japanese once. Myth is a powerful incentive.
The US is just another western empire in the series of many, who tried their luck in the (European) east. I truly don’t understand from where they get these crazy ideas that this (or each) time it will be different. We are truly witness of a Forrest Gump paradox here “stupid is, stupid does” & “and does it all over again”… no medicine here.
pretty sure nothing has changed since then. An increase in US elites psychopathic narccissim – but then when mental ill health goes untreated for so long it just becomes part of the genetic make up.
Perfect abstract of what happened in the last ten days.
Brilliant as always.
Now let‘s prepare – the choose was made: it is WAR – sooner or later but within the next 18 months.
A few loose cannons and all hell breaks loose.
The war has been on since the 90’s. The West never ‘got’ Putin and have misjudged Russia ever since.
But they wage a hybrid war internally in the Russian Federation and externally in the near abroad, Russia’s sphere of influence which grows all the time, into South Asia, the Arctic, the Middle East and North Africa, Central Africa and parts of the Western Hemisphere.
The Russia energy sector makes it a player anywhere LNG or Oil can be shipped and wherever natural gas can be pipelined. Its military weapon systems are extremely attractive to nations outside the vassalage of the USA and where US sanctions are not threatened.
As the largest land mass in Eurasia with the most valuable natural resources in plentitude Russia is a Super Power to be reckoned with, but the US only wants to destroy it and steal its resources.
So we tread water, wait for what seems to be inevitable, hybrid war turned kinetic.
The best we can hope for is a tactical strike by Russia that so stuns the US as an object lesson to cease its war plans. Considering the lack of moral courage displayed by the US in all its wars for 75 years we might calculate that the Hegemon will not pursue a full war with Russia.
Meanwhile, the Russians certainly have planned for the failure of these Ultimatum talks.
And so, we wait for what is next.
This waiting is called a Time of Peace, but it is a Time of War if you are Russia. The West has never given Russia a Time of Peace.
Thank you Mr Escobar, an excellent analysis.
Thank you, Pepe, for a witty, satirical, and eloquent narrative as always.
US/NATO refused Russia the buffer zone it deserves as a nuclear power. The whole exercise in the last few days makes them look like hienas on a frenzy after smelling blood, going in for the kill. I don’t know what you mean exactly by “Instagrammed Irrationalism” but it defines the “Western partners” to the t. Now we wait for Russia to create a new reality.
Lone Wolf
The only problem for them is that the blood they are smelling is theirs.
If only that were true Marko.
Seldom is it that the agitator who stands behind the crowd, cajoling the lowbrow, who ends up incarcerated or in hospital.
Russia should shut down gas supply for a week or so this winter as a foretaste of the total disaster Europeans face if things deteriorate from here.
Europe can have _guaranteed_ peace and stay warm at the same time, or they can have war and energy so expensive that only the rich can afford it. I also wonder whether Germany factors the hit to its export industry in its geopolitical calculus.
Well if the US cuts swift then Russia is free and can do as it wishes. 40% of all EU energy comes from Russia so if they cut it off Europe dies, which is something the US would be happy with, the US sees the EU and Europe as a competitor, especially now that it is so weak itself, hence the occupation of most of their countires with US troops. I feel Russia will prepare for war and wait. One would prefer them to flash the claws but it seems this will not be the case. Everytime they do this the US thinks it has won another victory, it will ultimately make their defeat much much harder to accept but at this stage they have brough clamity upon themselves and across the world their is little or no sympathy for them at all. Their allies are not friends they are frightened cowards and vassals who will not fight once the empire dies. I am surprised that the Germans are nwhere to be seen in these matters, no mediation, nothing to say in the press, just meekly accepting that war in Europe now seems an inevitability. Russia should tuen east and leave all these spineless cowards to die on the vine at the feet of America,
Cutting SWIFT off from Russia would defeat the Empire and the US dollar faster than anything else. Isolating SWIFT from Russia would also be a huge step in escalation. If the Empire takes that suicidal step, then the Empire would also be thinking about launching a nuclear war a few days later. So … short of suicide, SWIFT will remain in place. Nor would Russia want the demise of SWIFT, nor would it want this imposed upon them, if only because that big step would mean escalation is getting beyond anyone’s control. It needs to be repeated tirelessly, that Russia is not interested in destroying the economies of the Empire. Nor is China. But also understand that SWIFT itself is not a big deal; it’s nothing more than a couple thousand lines of software code, and an international network of banks who have tested it and are ready to use it. It hasn’t been announced, but I’d be shocked if the software alternative to SWIFT was not written and tested, already by 2016. Note that although a SWIFT alternative does not in itself mean de-dollarization, a SWIFT replacement could slowly lead to that.
this is an interesting press release from Britain’s leading Intel Journal; The Guardispin.

“Russia threatens military deployment to Cuba and Venezuela as diplomacy stalls”
it’s always interesting to hear from Luke Harding & Julian Borger, it’s like doing a cryptic crossword, I assume I’m supposed to read this in the style of a Soviet citizen in the 1980’s reading Pravda,
the truth lies inbetween the lines?
I would not call this untruthful. It has been reported by other sources as well and would be a totally smart and sensible move by Russia. But it would be just two of many other countermeasures that Russia could prepare, covertly and overtly…
My money would be on knocking out some vital western communications satellites…
The topics raised on this Blog by others, re shutting off Russian oil and gas supplies to the West, is an interesting dilemma for Russia…why should they cut it off when Russia profits more every day from this trade, due to price rises?
Firstly I refuse to click on any links from that publication – why give it clicks?
Russia hasn’t “threatened” this at all. The West doesn’t do diplomacy or dialogue. The “Russia is the aggressor” story must be kept on track……
I personally think they are trolling the West in regard to Cuba/Venezuela and as usual the MSM picks it up and runs with it. Anything to distract from reality.
Have you no concept of the weapons Russia has in its arsenal? Read Mr Martyanov’s article on the site.
Russia has made it very clear that the West needs to put in writing their response to Russia’s proposals. There is no point for further discussion until they do. The OSCE meeting run by Poland yesterday was a complete farce and shows clearly where the West is at.
Sure..I know well just what type of weapons that Russia has…but…im up to speed on Machiavellis Book…so whilst .i agree with you, that this publication is not a pleasant read…there is this to consider :
Sometimes the rumour of implied use of Force can make an adversary rethink his position >.
Comment with thanks to A.H.H –
FM Lavrov was asked specifically if [current Russian troop movements and imminent action] means war against Ukraine. His answer was surprising: “No, it means creating counter-threats for the West and the appearance of Russian bases or missiles near the US borders, painful counter-sanctions for the West and the like. Russia does not need a war in Ukraine. There are too many kinship ties between Ukrainians and Russians.”

He used his argument in the context of disputes between sovereign nations. Solutions often require an element of fear of disproportionate responses if no deal is struck….”
When i had a troublesome neighbour, i circulated a threat that “someone has a baseball bat behind his front door”
The threat was enough to create enough gossip so that the neighbour got the message indirectly and backed off…
Like Russia, i want my peace and quiet but i have a baseball bat – and more – at my disposal…just in case.
I put up security cameras…then this idiot neighbour accused me of being a voyeur.
I circulated a rumour that this neighbour was seen outside my door on camera and that my solicitor had the tape and now had enough evidence to put the neighbour behind bars for a long time…
The neighbour heard the rumour from other neighbours and backed off from coming near my door.
The Russians know from dealing with the USA and EU, that they are Non-Agreement-Capable…so the implied threat of force, even one which is created by the idiot MSM, can work in favour of the Russian position.
Just watched Andrei Martyanov’s latest video. He mentions Iran’s President visiting with Putin. He also mentions the possibility that Russia might announce a military alliance with China at the Beijing Olympics. He suggests that Russia might even give China “Zircon Lite” (the one with a 500km range) which would be more than enough to eliminate any Western naval force anywhere near the First Island Chain.
I suspect Iran is going to get a big order for S-400’s from Russia and probably anything else it wants militarily. In addition, IIRC back in the day in Syria around 2015-2016, Iran allowed Russia to temporarily use its airbases for Russian aircraft. I’m sure Russia could negotiate something along those lines as a permanent measure in exchange for those S-400s. In short, Russia can upgrade its relations with Iran to an actual military alliance as well as with China. That will put Israel and the US in a really bad position vis-a-vis getting a war started there.
Russia also announced that their bombers in Syria can now cover and attack any target in the whole of the Mediterranean. It is also reported that Russian warships have moved nearer the Baltic coast, while quantities of Russian ground forces are lining up all along Russia’s border with Europe.
My main concern now is that the CIA and the neocons have planned a bigger war than just Ukraine vs Russia. I’m concerned that, with the massive NATO military exercises scheduled for Ukraine beginning in February, 2022, a new offensive against Donbass may be launched under cover of and with covert assistance by those NATO forces. When Russia responds to that, and if NATO forces are caught up in it, NATO can then invoke Article 5 of the NATO Charter, which will require the US to get involved. That scenario can very quickly escalate out of control.
I assumed the US and NATO would stand down in the event of a war between Ukraine and Russia, based on the military balance of power, and that no one wants a major fight over Ukraine, rather they want to sacrifice Ukraine in order to demonize Russia further. I’m no longer confident of that assessment. The plan may be worse than we imagine.
It would appear the US, UK and EU want their domestic populations contained using this pandemic for when this war you cite breaks out as they will object to it.
This comment is going off-topic and should have been posted in the Cafe (or under another post). Please take this conversation there – any further will go to the trash. Everyone stick to the topic! Mod.
“… want their domestic populations contained”
I believe you are correct. And that this strategy has been in operation across the 5-eyes domain for a number of years. I noted that something was amiss in a local fringe shire downunder 3-4 years back when a signed and sealed contract for the latest Chinese 5G technology for a province/state level civil train transport system was forced to be cancelled by the national government without any coherent reasoning. Since then, China has been re-framed from major supplier and customer (of iron ore, energy & agricultural products) to number-one state enemy.
And the population here are simply stupified with fear and laziness in a lockdown neofeudal plantation policy that is technically illegal except for the “state emergency” powers being enacted based on the so called pandemic crisis. Removed. Mod. But the panic must go on to justify emergency regulation by these little power thirsty tyrants etc.
Nonetheless, it looks like the main intent is to train the sheeple to accept the new normal. And the scary thing is, some of these people seem to love it. I personally think the rot set in via day-care training in the 1970-80s+. The neofeudal construct is strengthened when we consider that feudal serfs needed to get their lord’s permission to leave the plantation estates. To me (>65) this appears to be a generational shift into a lust for power by faceless technocratic bureaucracy. Many have pointed to this trend and I concur based on my personal experiences. Now we are back to panic toilet paper buying and supply chain risk — an old lady just told me in the local shopping queue that her daughter in Melbourne cannot get meat. Go figure, but let’s fixate on a world-class tennis player and whether he ticked the right box on a bureaucratic form. The war must go on. We are watching the 1930’s revisited, imo. And Dr. Mattias Desmet’s “Mass Formation Psychosis” nails it 100%.
I’ve come to a peronsal conclusion that this is mostly a last tail-flick of the post-2007/9 global financial crisis fallout that Obama could have avoided my letting the market work itself out. However, it’s main genesis was the Clinton’s late 1990’s attack on the US banking system. It is hyper-complex and with no single cause or solution — but what is clear (as you have suggested) is that every effort is being made by these so called ‘servants’ of the people (in the pockets of the 0.01%) to implement civilian control and mass distraction/projection strategies.
Yes but they plan a ‘limited’ conflict whereas if Russia uses it as an opportunity to bury NATO things will take a turn for the better. The US and UK are arrogant beyond belief and don’t believe that ‘putins super weapons’ are a reality. Russia must strike back with overwhelming force, the more they just sit and take this propaganda and insulting sanctions drubbing the nearer the end comes for them. Total retliation and a new front in the middle east plus a chinese invasion of Taiwan should have the US on their knees and quicky. The truth is that the longer we wait for this confrontation the stronger that NATO will become in Europe. It is noble to try and avoid a war but the writing is on the wall clear and present. I await President Putins address in February.
The belligerence and apparent confidence of the Euro component of Nato — even if two of them are nuclear armed — stem from their belief that the US will come to their rescue if things get hot. Nonetheless we are hearing quiet voices that have expressed some doubt about the US cavalry riding in to save the homesteaders from them injuns. This can be deduced from Joseph Borrell’s almost hysterical plea for EU to be included in the talks. Some Ukrainians are not far behind in that way of thinking. They fear that the RF and US will strike a deal behind their back and leave them hanging out to dry — a not unreasonable position for them to adopt taking into account the US’s dismal record of discarding its allies when circumstance demands.
I suspect some of the obstinacy so far displayed by the US stems from its need to assuage some of these concerns among its ‘allies.’ After watching RF rep to OSCE’s press conference, I think the US has succeeded in doing just that, for the moment at least. Things may change when RF, which has the initiative, reveals its hand in this poker game. We will probably get a glimpse of that as early as next week.
https://tass.com/world/1386377
“They fear that the RF and US will strike a deal behind their back and leave them hanging out to dry…”
I think it’s worse than that. I think the West is *sacrificing* Ukraine just to get more reasons to demonize and isolate Russia. The CIA and the neocons want a war between Ukraine and Russia (at the very least – and maybe a war with NATO as well.) They’re playing Zelensky and he’s desperate enough to believe it.
I’m pretty sure that Article 5 cannot be invoked by NATO in response to any NATO casualties suffered during military operations in the Ukraine (a non-NATO member). It would be NATO’s responsibility to withdraw any of it’s military advisors and assets prior to the outbreak of imminent hostilities and if individual nations like Poland, the Baltics, UK etc wish to go to war with Russia they will have to pursue their military adventurism as independent nations and declare war on Russia unilaterally without any Article 5 backing. I don’t think even the Poles are that stupid but I could be wrong!
Well we all know the US Reich changes the rules when they like, where did article 5 come into it when they launched the savage attack on Serbia?
It quite clear from this dialogue that the EU is controlling the Biden US Admin policy agenda.
And those in the EU pushing this expansion of NATO agenda are the ones who need targeting.
And it won’t be Italy, Greece, Spain, Norway – those on the perimeter etc… who are the ones.

Let’s move away from niceties and get real! The real game has been over for quite some time. The pathetic show we are now witnessing between Russia and the Empire is unmitigated futility, a pure waste of time.
Russia must now part with the Empire once and for all and go it’s own way. Together with China, it must stand fully prepared and ready at all times for total war. The rest is mere remaining civility on the part of the ever civilized remaining: nice and enjoyable to see deployed, but become irrelevant… alas!
So help us God!
Our neighbourhood has many feral cats which trespass in my garden to cow my domestic cat and prowl around for food. Most of these feral cats have a guilty conscience and leave as soon as I open my door. Some are bolder and wait till I shout. Some feral cats stand their ground until I wave a stick. Very rarely do I need to chase one out by throwing a missile.
That’s dialogue in cat language.
To the theme of The Carpenters classic –
We’ve only just begun
We start out shooting
Then have to bomb
Yes we’ve only just begun . . . .
A day will come, one of those cats may call your bluff and you’ll be tossing sticks a plenty.

But how is it humanly possible for seasoned pros like Ryabkov and Grushko to argue, rationally, with a bunch of amateur blind bats such as Blinken, Sullivan, Nuland and Sherman?
It’s not.
Perhaps, Pepe, the Kremlin should now formally invite Kanye West in for a conversation.
But first, Dmitry Peskov’s comment about K West’s planned visit to Moscow and a meeting with VVP.
‘ “When asked how familiar President Putin and the Kremlin administration are with Kanye West’s works, Peskov replied that this knowledge “is not so deep to provide any assessments.” ‘
IOW, “we’ve no bloody idea who this bugger is.”
But at least there’s a chance the Kremlin might be treated to some entertainment to relieve the dyspepsia after the encounter with the bats.
I apologise for this flippancy but after reading about Kanye aka Ye’s presumptuousness while trawling the Tass website the other day, I couldn’t help myself.
https://tass.com/society/1386917
Pepe’s articles should be reported everywhere in the West, but public attention here is diverted elsewhere. In the future, scholars will be stunned to learn how the world was on the brink of the war with nobody caring.
All this situation is quite sad, but it was predictable. As already stated, in my opinion, US and NATO don’t want de-escalate, but only talk to gain more time (think about the Stoltenberg’s opening for future “dialogues”) and meanwhile secure the grip on European vassals and reshape the society. Probably they think that Russia cannot do anything to harm US, and that any strong Russian action in Europe/Middle East will serve these purposes as well. We will see the effects on these miscalculations very soon.
At the end of the day, we are at the point of decision making for each side, when to strike first.
Didn’t Putin once said something of his youth experiences in Saint Petersburg ?
And the US has no leader, woke tards in the military and administration !
Cheers and Prep
Who would make their life’s work to divide the peoples of the Global North?
Is the US recalcitrance to trade with RF evidence of a failure in free market capitalism? Does the US have no faith in its’ economic system or itself to compete or even do business?
Tolerance and inclusion but only on a selective discriminatory and prejudiced basis is hypocrisy.
Recognize DPR LPR democratic self determination status as independent.
Guarantee Duty to Protect doctrine.
“Russia planning false flag provocation in Ukraine” Trumpets The Guardian! Govt lackies doing the USAs bidding. No mention of the 120 US mercenaries – uh, sorry, ‘private contractors’ – seen with chemical weapons preparing just such a thing!
Russia needs to stop taking this utter BS and make the Russophobes pee their pants, non of this will stop until they show their fangs.
So Pepe is saying that Russia will be able to do what it really wants in 2027 (2025) the earliest.
This, to me, is the most important part of the text. Here are a few thoughts.
1) What will Russia do then that it can’t do now?
2) Why issue strong statements if your counter moves happen in 2027?
What will be the Russian answer?
My guess is a nothing. I hope Russia wipes off the map the combine western leadership and removes the yoke of the planet in a fiery nuclear war…. but I fear it will just be some posturing (like not extending treaties, positioning weapons in other countries) and the status quo will remain. It might be other posturing like things like anouncing treaties with other countries and positioning and such which is all kind of closer to the nothing side than action side.
There will not be American/Israel style of bombing of assets, Russia would not dare take out the missile systems in Poland and Romania – and this is what we all here would like to see. I would like to see Russia do something real in the US sphere of influence like the US/Israel do all of the time, and in the open, to Russian allies.
I hope I’m wrong, I hope that Russia is for real this time, but my fear is that at the end of the day it will seem like Russia made loud noises, the west collectively told them to shut up, then Russia effectively does nothing to cause the west any pain and that’s it. Meanwhile color revolutions, bombings, assassinations, covert attacks of nuclear plants and bio warfare continue to be a problem to all of Russian interests if not Russia itself with renewed terrorist activity.
Excellent analysis on how “without firing a shot”, US and Europe have been “shot down” and “out gunned”.
