I will honestly tell you that I often feel a sense of total despair and disgust with my fellow human whose behavior often makes me forget how beautiful humans can also be. Tonight, I want to share with you two videos which, besides their obvious political message, simply reminded me that humans are also beautiful and that they carry inside themselves an “inner dignity” which gives them the courage and resolve to oppose evil regardless of their chances to prevail. The following two videos show very different people, but in them both I see a reason not to despair. I hope that you will see it too.
As David Rovics always says – we are everywhere!
Kind regards,
The Saker

Troparion (Tone 7) [1]
You were Transfigured on the Mount, O Christ God,
Revealing Your glory to Your disciples as far as they could bear it.
Let Your everlasting Light shine upon us sinners!
Through the prayers of the Theotokos, O Giver of Light, glory to You!
Kontakion (Tone 7)
On the Mountain You were Transfigured, O Christ God,
And Your disciples beheld Your glory as far as they could see it;
So that when they would behold You crucified,
They would understand that Your suffering was voluntary,
And would proclaim to the world,
That You are truly the Radiance of the Father!
Forefeast hymns
Troparion (Tone 4)
Come, you faithful, let us welcome the Transfiguration of Christ,
And let us joyfully cry as we celebrate the prefeast:
“The day of holy gladness has come;
The Lord has ascended Mount Tabor
To radiate the beauty of His divinity.”
Kontakion (Tone 4)
Podoben: “Today You have shown forth…”
Today all mortal nature shines with the divine Transfiguration
And cries with exultation:
“Christ the Savior is transfigured to save us all!”
At last a revolutionary program, in the form of a cry from the heart.
This is what it will take to win. But will Putin allow it?
Thanks, Saker.
These testimonials are quite perfect for the dilemmas we face emotionally and intellectually.
Most of us are never going to have to fight to the death, nor suffer the agony of our dear fellow humans in other parts of the world.
These videos will keep us on target in both conflicts.
American Kulak
In the New Testament where Christ rebukes the Scribes Pharisees and Lawyers (the rich ones) and then goes into the temple and all the little ones…the lame and blind and sick come and he talks to them and heals them…
I think I love that girl! :-)
She also has one up on Youtube about “Why I’m no longer an anti-government extremist” – which of course is exactly the opposite.
As an anarchist, I liked both of these.
Thanks for sharing Saker, both very worth watching.
re: “C said… At last a revolutionary program, in the form of a cry from the heart. This is what it will take to win…” Beautifully said!!
This (video) kind of expression is what will instantly win the admiration and support of anyone with ideals, with a heart for humanity, with a vision for community and justice.
Even those hypnotized by the drone of the media will be shaken and given pause to wonder and think.
May they not be betrayed, may the community they dream of be realized and may they continue to fight, not out of rage and hatred, but out of a passion to see it done on earth as it is (in vision) in heaven.
“humans are also beautiful and that they carry inside themselves an “inner dignity” which gives them the courage and resolve to oppose evil regardless of their chances to prevail. The following two videos show very different people, but in them both I see a reason not to despair.”
Your whole website is inspirational; no, never, ever despair!!!
significant is the soldier’s understanding that the institutions belong to the people, he says it naturally as it is obvious socialist fundamentals.
Most significant is that the inspired and passionate soldier articulates the fundamental and natural rightness that the institutions and industries should belong to the people who create them, drive the success of the society, and are robbed by the oligarchs. For the Donbass! For the people!
The second one in particular is a powerful manifesto against the oligarchs – not just in Ukraine, but everywhere.
Great picks, Saker. Thank you. Thank you also American Kulak for the spiritual restoration.
Uncomfortable facts …
The Israeli soldiers killing children in Gaza are 20% Russian, many of them Orthodox Christian … Vlad Putin is not being very ‘anti-Zionist’ as he maintains friendly ties to not only Israel, but he also supplies weapons to Israeli agent and Egypt dictator Al-Sisi, a key figure in blockading Gaza’s south border and denying Gazans food and medical supplies (Gaza used to be part of Egypt)
Israel is now 20% Arab (not in Israeli army), 20% Russian-speaking, 20% Orthodox Jewish somewhat non-Zionist (also often not in Israeli army) … Russians are at the core of Israel’s IDF military killers now … Israel prime minister Netanyahu even had a special Christmas message of good wishes for his Russian Orthodox Christian killers
In the 1990s Israel encouraged mass immigration of any ex-Soviets with the thinnest claims of a Jewish grandparent, including explicit Christians … Israel wanted more white residents, and tough Russians to be soldiers / killers given how Israeli males have often become soft Tel Aviv metro-sexuals … Yet Israeli denies entry and citizenship to most black-skinned, highly religious ancient Jews from Africa, they thought Russian white Orthodox Christians would be better ‘Israelis’.
Does anyone actually think that the “soldier’s” rant was unscripted and that he is, by profession, anything other than ‘actor’?
I get the message and the presentation is powerful but does anyone here know any person who can do a rant like that, unscripted and not lose track of his ideas and words?
The question is ‘does this matter’? In my opinion it does because we blart on about propaganda on this site but really what people seem to mean is ‘stuff we don’t agree with’. This piece has some good pints to make, it is also a blatant piece of emotional manipulation. It is very well done. As I watched I became convinced that the speaker was growing larger in the frame – a sure sign that I was being manipulated, especially because, when I checked, the image sizes and proportions were unchanged throughout.
I was reading a piece about knowledge, information, belief and propaganda the other day and was impressed by the idea that our only real knowledge is that which we know and experience for ourselves. The writer suggested quite accurately that in modern, English speaking, western culture (I think was primarily referring to the US but it certainly applied to a greater or lesser degree elsewhere) most people tend to consider that knowledge, information and belief are largely synonymous and that because we make that mistake we enable propaganda to work because we allow a controlled group think to have authority over our own thoughts.
Here’s an example, right from the video and this forum: most of us live in a market economy, we understand the value of a market in enabling the distribution of products and assets, it is what we live by. In the video, the actor was promulgating the idea that property can and should be stolen from its owners and distributed to people without reference to ownership or market.
So, why has nobody mentioned this (and other similar ideas) when giving the speaker a big old ‘well done!’?
Each and every viewer who saw that video, thought ‘well said’ and did not at the same time say ‘but hey, what’s that about property theft?’ has just been reprogrammed. :(
Dusty,
I think the odds that you are a professional actor are much higher than that he is. As for whether he had a general script of things he wanted to say, well, it is a “message”. That implies that some thought went into it. So what? It is a powerful message about a terribly emotional thing. If someone advised him to wear certain clothes or mention oligarchs several times, big deal.
We are at risk of a major war or an inflection point in geopolitics, so this guy’s YouTube skills are not very high on the list of things to worry about.
Paul, if you do not ask yourself the questions about what you read or hear then you are unable to evaluate them.
So, yes it DOES matter whether the bloke was an actor or not because that issue is a part of what you are hearing and reading. If you are attuned to the idea that you will let stuff slide because it kinda agrees with your exiting prejudices and preconceptions then you can be easily manipulated because you will, as in the example I gave, let things slide by you.
All parties in this conflict are using manipulation and, even if this was not an actor, it was still manipulation.
Does that mean you should ignore it entirely? No it doesn’t but if you don’t look objectively then you will get the wrong message.
Saker knows about this stuff, he, apparently, was a military analyst and should already know about how information is used to deceive, how truth can deceive. At times like these we need to up our skills not tone them down.
By the way, I am certainly not an actor, professional or otherwise.
Both interesting videos. The first, the woman’s description of the reaction she got from the Jews she talked with about her criticisms of Israel is very typical. The zionist Jewish world is a very intolerant and closed one. Which is one of the reasons zionists, nazis and the far right in general get along so well together. They are are quite similar in their way of dealing with each other and “outsiders”.
In the second video, the man expresses an interesting mix of left wing and nationalist views, with the left wing aspect dominating. This kind of a mix is fairly common in the ex-USSR region, where people mix many different philosophies together in ways not often seen in the “west”, who have long had their own views bound with an almost martial conformity to dogmatic thinking.

@dusty,
The problem with your position is contained within your failed understanding of the “market” economy. When international investors and speculators form corporations and are given the rights of the inhabitants, aka: citizens, the market is rigged and society is ruined.
Private property rights become irrelevant at a certain point when the locals no longer own their own properties and/or the land they inhabit. While this poses significant challenges in long “occupied” nations such as Turtle Island, aka: North America, reconciliation with the true Indigenous population and their thousands of years of tried and true traditions should be the solution.
Just because “citizens” have been brainwashed into believing that “this land is your land, this land is my land, from California to the New York islands…” does not make it true.
The Magna Carta was written by the Barons, for the Barons and is probably the biggest fraud of all time since it is the basis of property rights as we know them. The manipulation of words has given unlimited power and authority to the Barons, aka: oligarchs, that own and control the markets.
It may be wise for you, and your ilk, to quit pushing the market economy that is nothing more than a massive fraud against humanity. In addition, there is no such animal as a “free market” as it is rather expensive to participate in any true capacity, especially considering it is based upon the trickle down, aka: supply side, theory.
Once the people own the supply, people control their own destiny and may then pursue fair trade with each other that is beneficial to each other. Local/regional control is vital to the locals and this is why massive free trade agreements restrict the roles of the locals.
The sad reality is that the market you vigorously defend will eventually consume you when you are no longer an asset to it. You are what the speculators, globalists, internationalist neocons refer to as useful idiots…
Dusty,
I sort of like your comments because you often raise interesting points(btw I also like Mr. Pragma’s comments and for the same reason – this is a plea to you Saker :-) ). I am sure you are right that the speech was prepared – but for the most part the speaker only said things with which we could identify immediately. In a nutshell he mostly expressed our own feelings. I have some reservations too about his collective ownership of infrastructure – but he was not too clear about what he really meant and I feel that society should at least have a say about infrastructure – f. ex. I do not like the idea that prisons are run on a for-profit basis or that school curriculae are trying to subvert the family.
Dusty:
Let’s engage. Traditional American robber barons at least built companies up from nothing. Henry Ford paid above-market wages to his workers, in part so that they could afford to purchase Ford products. In comparison, the oligarchs who have arisen in the FSU didn’t build anything: they took it, they bought it cheap, frequently in rigged auctions, for pennies on the hundreds or thousands of dollars.
They may have legal title to their property, but it’s a stretch to call it a clean title. The looting of the Soviet patrimony is a stain on the conscience of the West.
As for the glories of the market, well, that’s a whole other conversation.
I’ve seen the second video before. And I’m afraid he’s dead if the fascists win or catch him,for sure.I feel exactly like he does. But it wasn’t wise to say it on video. He and the like minded should join in a cell organisation to do the work needed. That those pigs haven’t been targeted and dispatched yet disappoints me.The Czechs had agents that killed Heydrich and there were many attempts on Hitler.I know it would be hard to get some of them. But there are some that could be eliminated. And it would be a warning to the others that their days were numbered.
The Gaza power plant is even more key than you think it is, because power is used to run the water processing and sewage plant. Without fresh water, the population is forced to rely on imported water from the UN. UN has said for years that 95% of the groundwater in Gaza is unfit to drink, will be 100% by 2015, and Gaza will be unlivable by 2020 (google for the reports). Without running water, no flush toilets. Without flush toilets, human waste builds up in open cess pits, and life becomes hell. Imagine New York City without running water for even four weeks.
@Anonymous (19 August, 2014 15:52):
“I’m afraid he’s dead if the fascists win or catch him,for sure.I feel exactly like he does. But it wasn’t wise to say it on video.”
Was it wise for the founders of the US to sign the declaration of independence? Of course not. They all could have been hanged for it if they’d lost the war. And in the video, he does mention that he’s prepared to die if he has to, so I assume he accepts that as a possible outcome.
“That those pigs haven’t been targeted and dispatched yet disappoints me.The Czechs had agents that killed Heydrich and there were many attempts on Hitler.I know it would be hard to get some of them. But there are some that could be eliminated. And it would be a warning to the others that their days were numbered.”
Couldn’t agree more. But you know that USG and the MSM would just blame it all on Russia. Still, it might be worth doing anyway.
That young woman’s video is the greatest response to hasbara ever created. i have already sent it around to all my friends
Lenin said the bourgeoisie were utterly astounded by Bolshevik Revolution I, never imagined it could happen.
Some things, to judge by the irrelevance of dusty’s rant about the guy being and “actor,” never change. Come on, fellow, stick to the merits of what he has to say. Come on out of your head.
Bolshevik Revolution II! Urrah!
@ dusty,
We live in a world [in general] where profits are privatized and losses socialized [where you and I, aka the ‘grey masses’ have to pay for them].
I see no justice in that.
The market in upscale cars is growing [BMW] despite the fact that the average citizens’ $$ power is declining.
I don understand your concern wrt proprietary ownership though. t’s tough to find the right balance between all the -isms.

Izzard is a transvestite, something that might offend some [he’s spot on though]
