US rhetoric over the SCS islands seems to have dampened down considerably since Russia demonstrated its cruise missiles and electronic warfare tech in Syria.

Twenty-seven U.S. Navy commanders and captains quietly climbed on board Monday the Liaoning, China’s only aircraft carrier, where they discussed a variety of topics including training personnel and medical protection. The next day, they visited the Chinese Navy’s submarine academy and held more talks, all to little fanfare, the Associated Press reported Wednesday, citing the Chinese navy’s official microblog. The U.S. Navy’s website did not appear Wednesday to contain any reports of the visits.
I asked my wife if the Outlaw Empire would go to war with China if it sank a carrier within the 12-mile territory of its South China Sea since it went to war against Spain over the sinking of the battleship Maine in Cuba. Very possible, she replied, given the crazies in charge at Depravity Central.
Instead of a carrier task force a submarine would be a better choice.
The funny thing about the Maine is that the Spanish didn’t even attack it. Either it was an accidental coal explosion or some kind of early false flag. Probably an accident, but the result is the same.
US carriers are now in the same role as German and Japan monstrous battleships were in the end of WW2 – they are just hiding themselves in home ports or somewhere in high seas from long range and very precise missiles. Americans are still waiting for new Pearl Harbor or Midway battle which will never come… It’s hard to understand why they haven’t been already scrapped and saved (huge!) money used for some meaningful purpose.
The Brits and American had huge BBs too. They just were not as cool.
Its just, unlike the japs and germans, the Americans had dozens of carriers, and for Britain, who needs carriers when you have Fortress Britain to launch aerial sorties from?
Yet Another Costly F-35 Glitch That Won’t Be Fixed Any Time Soon
“… The Defense Department’s multi-billion dollar F-35 Joint Strike Fighter effort has hit a new snag, and it’s one that could take anywhere from a year to 18 months to fix, according to the program’s chief.
Earlier this month Defense News reported the Pentagon had learned the fifth-generation airplane’s ejection seat could cause fatal whiplash for pilots weighing under 136 pounds [62 kg], despite the fact that the seat was designed to handle any pilot weighing between 103 and 245 pounds [47 and 111 kg].
The discovery prompted the Pentagon to restrict any pilot that weighs less than 136 pounds from flying the aircraft until a solution was found. …”
Adult Americans weighing less than 136 lbs. – how big of a problem ist that?
Feeding those underweight USAF with enough junkfood should solve this problem in 12-18 months :-)
I see a bigger problem with the max. limit of 245 lbs. coming.
But the main aim of the F-35 project has been to line the pockets of Lockheed Martin shareholders, (and to provide as many congressmen as possible to boast with jobs created in their constituency), so everything is going to plan.
Come to think, the under-136-pounds-prohibition practically eliminates the female pilots:-! Heeere goes Political Correctness out of wind… out of cockpit, I mean… :-)
(On second thought … there are so many McDonald’s-fed buxom maidens nowadays…)
Navy types will moan in shame. I did. If under fire those guys would have all died… Watch the video. And weep.
Carriers are for projecting force against weak or poorly defended targets. That the carriers are pretty much in safe places says something. But so do the Ruski cruise missiles. And subs. And some may recall the SLBM launch from the Catalina Channel. It was said that the US did not launch that one, and many assume the Chinese did. These days even a 100 ton boat can, wish proper weapon, sink a carrier. Even, one may imagine, a plywood/diesel semi-submarine like the ones the coke dealers build, might carry a rocket. Carriers are simply targets, bait. Pity for these beautiful ships, but true.
SLBM was on the local Los Angeles television live… Live. The chopper pilots were experienced military types…they saw a SLBM eye to eye and put it on TV in real-time. If that’s a fake, what can be believed? I myself saw the news reports the same day…
A fundamental principle of logic says that who says a thing has nothing to do with whether or not what he says is true or false. That’s logic 101, fellas. If a monster psycho tells you it’s Thursday it does not matter – it’s either Thursday or it is not. Get it? Maybe? Madsen may be a spook. So what? The SLBM launch was real. Who did it? Ordinary people are not permitted to know. Some say China. Some say US Navy, maybe. The fact remains.
Just like the Ruski ECM jammers. Real. Just like carriers. They’re made to enforce empire, not win a war, ie they are “quaint”, like the BBS at Pearl. Meat to attract flies. Pity. Pax
What is the one doing of the coast of Chile? Or is that the one that would be used against Argentina should things go really sour? US has not issues with Chile as far as I know.
Those Russian cruise missiles have really changed the dynamics of conventional warfare. What intrigues me more is Russian capabilities in terms of being able to disable coms, radars, etc. Makes the US concept of ‘Network Centric Warfare’ a joke if it can be profoundly disrupted.

Any chance the Saker could tell us what, if any, significance this has?

Well, we now know something about the capability of NATO to make amphibious landings…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC3Lh-smsmM

Afterthought ——- the SLBM near Catalina, near Los Angeles. See: http://www.infowars.com/wayne-madsen-china-fired-missile-seen-in-southern-california/
and google, there’s more
Honestly, how reliable are such news sources? Sounds n look fake to me.
you are right allen, it is fake. madsen is a well know cia disinfo front. jones, who handles him I don’t know but his job is just to insite fear.
anon…I think that’s absurd..that Wayne Madsen is CIA…what nonsense..
And Jones too…who’s his handler ? What a silly question.
these guys are part of the Alternative Media ok ?

Some time ago I thought if Russia or China could disable US coms, the most powerful military machine ever known would become a sitting duck.
John, thanks for raising this question. I was thinking the same thing. That ACC has been moving down the west coast of South America – why?
