Kiev May Start Using Chemical Weapons – Donetsk Republic
According to Donetsk People’s Republic official, a team of chemical experts from US arrived to help build chemical weapons in Ukraine.
With assistance of biotechnology experts from the United States, Ukrainian army is getting ready to produce chemical weapons to use against the Donbass militia, said Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) military spokesman Eduard Basurin.
“DPR intelligence informed about the development of chemical weapons on the territory of Ukraine. It was found out that the work is being conducted in chlorine storage in the village of Kochetivka, Ukraine’s Kharkiv Oblast. The development [of chlorine] is carried out with the help of US military experts,” Basurin said.
A week ago, 20 trucks brought five tons of “unknown poisonous substance.” After the Ukrainian army obtains the results it needs, it will start organizing sabotage actions in Donbass trying to accuse DPR militia of using chemical weapons, the DPR leader said.
Basurin added that in mid-May all personnel from the chlorine storage was laid off and the building is now being guarded by Ukraine’s armed forces. Furthermore, a group of US chemical experts arrived into the region.
Last month, Basurin said that Kiev formed a special unit of more than 300 fighters who pose as Russian soldiers to carry out sabotage mission on the territory of Donbass. He also added that these soldiers were trained by NATO instructors.

Oh, it was posted just a couple of days ago on this blog, that Kudrin was “setting his conditions for returning to the government”, and indications in the news were that he was being approached about it.
Oh, that. Anyone can get up and make statements of wishful thinking,. That doesn’t mean anything about actual changes in Russia. I remember, he was saying he’d consider returning provided Russia changed to a “sensible western capitalist system” or something like that. That is about as realistic as Saashkavilli saying he’s be prepared to return to Georgia provided they drop the treason charges against him. Until they are invited back it’s just all hot air.
I do hope it is as you say. I am still under the strong impression that something more is cooking with these “AI” bastards. The communists (Zyuganov) were clamoring for their removal for many years – to no avail. This same regime kept Kudrin for eleven years (2000-2011), Serdyukov for five (2007-2012), while … Medvedev is still in office…

I have my own opinion of Strelkov. He has always blamed Surkov for many things, and always hated him. He also sees betrayal everywhere; his actual problem he is naive, and easily led by flattery, so has been talked into associations which turned out wrong, or embarrassing (further proofs of traitors of course). He has only snide bad things to say about all leaders in Novorossiya (they just politely avoid discussing him). He even looks down on Putin and feels he’s betrayed all of Russia, Novorossiya and Strelkov personally.
All the same, he has a large following, and a good range of posters to his VK page, often with good early information about battles. These are worth reading, his paranoid ramblings not.
I completely disagree with you on Strelkov, you are merely perpetuating slander that is written about him. Concerning the creepy disreputable “Surkov”, there is plenty of material on him, I have (ad hoc) pointed out an article above, albeit in Russian, all (most?) of them are.
I never said I like Surkov. I don’t know a lot about him but can’t say I like what I know. Strelkov I am judging by his own actual interviews and writings that I’ve seen – many of them, many not in English. I don’t hate the guy, I think on one level he’s ok, but on another he’s dangerously naive.

Going back to my first post in this chain /short-update-about-the-very-dangerous-ukrainian-situation/#comment-109935 , concerning Saker’s article, I am absolutely, 100% certain that Putin will never send troops into Malorussia (aka “Ukraine”), Novorussia included. While (to paraphrase your expression) in my eyes Putin is on one level OK but on another dangerously mistaken, the above is my bet, regardless of his rationale. I certainly do wish that I lose the bet.
I hope you lose, too. But what’s he to do? USA is openly speculating about nuking Russia just for the heck of it, ie to “pre-empt” an attack that is totally in their paranoid imaginations. He needs to find some way to neutralise them, otherwise any fast movement will lead to a “I thought he had a gun” scenario the cops are so good at.
One is not too concerned about the US overtly “nuking” Russia, since they can’t do it without impunity. In contrast to everything that Russia isn’t, it is well prepared for the “big” nuclear scenario, at least (though pressing that button is still necessary…).
Rather, it is a possible gradual surrender of Russia’s interests that is worrisome, involving the fifth column and misjudgements by, shall we say, the “fourth column”. How does one distinguish between: passivity, lack of resolve, missing of unique military opportunities – and haste, lack of prudence, “jumping the gun”? And not point to one to excuse the other?
