Excellent words, but……why are all the faces so serious? The speech was received politely with a degree of solemnity. Is that because Russians are very reserved, because they don’t really trust the government (they’d be wise to hold their govt’s feet to the fire at all times….it’s just common sense), or is there some other interpretation.
As an American, I sincerely hope ad pray that Vladimir Putin is genuinely truthful, a Christian reflecting what wisdom God has granted him. So far, he’s looking pretty good.
These faces reflect exactly the awareness – inner and outer – of a serious teacher talking about
serious matter at a very serious time. I would have been surprised if I saw any bored or smiling
face. Note the young audience interacting with dramatic subject matter that is concerned with
their present and future lives in their own changing society and the world.
Reminds me quite a bit of Socrates talking to youth and two Greek wisdoms: πάντα ῥεῖ and
γνῶθι σεαυτόν. The audience was quite aware that this was a speech by a man whose place
in history is guaranteed.
Very astute observations and comments. Spiral’s response is spot on about the mood of the audience. Being an American too I am shocked at how outclassed US politicians are when it comes to statesmanship.
Hahaha, spoken like a true American. The sobriety here is so different from the fear, loathing, and hysteria so glaringly displayed when “Mileikowsky” (((netanyahu))) received his standing ovations. And what did the “is” say?
It is refreshing to hear that there are leaders of the world who are actually interested in pursuing a future which is beneficial to not only their own people, but the world in general. This is in stark contrast to what we hear and see in the “free world”.
What all observers fail to point out and reiterate about Russia since the beginning of the Special Military Operation is evident from the opening scenes of this video; no one is wearing masks and Covid has basically been eliminated from a medical stand point. Then, if we consider that prior to the start of hostilities, Russia was one of the hardest hit countries on the planet totalling well over 200K infections per day and 750 deaths consistently for over 15 months straight, you understand what was really involved here. The bio-weapons war conducted against the country by the US and her allies has been brought to an end. Now, Russia and her allies will be handing out payback with accrued interest.
At around 2200 deaths per day the US wasn’t far off the same “Covid”, per capita, rate as Russia.
Do you think the US was killing its own populagtion with the same “biowaepon” or was this a different bioweapon response from Russia on the US (or something else)?
Please bring this back around to the topic of the article, mod
President Putin speaks very fast. It’s hard keeping up with the translation. He’s a busy man though. Amazing he actually runs the country. Watch President Putin speak, Lavrov, and others they actually think and talk, tbey dont stutter.
A little side note here. Watch when it shows President Putin and Lavrov sitting they sit like normal real men. Western men, our so called leaders notice the sit with tneir legs together like they’re women. And they probably think tneyre admired and so advanced for it. It’s pathetic. Any normal person knows a man sits a certain way, legs spread, becuase they got something there, and women sit modestly and all. Notice the next time and see for yourself.
Very happy to see Putin citing the history that is transmitted to the young people. I think this is fundamental. History must be told without manipulation and lies. It is in the heart and DNA of the people behaviour.
Anytime I listen to Vladimir Putin I can’t help feeling that part of the reason the Western oligarchies detest him so much is because the West doesn’t have any capable leader as him in power. He’s the epitome of leadership.
Russia, being resource rich in extractable things of the earth, has naturally developed a top down economic view, probably based on the use of oligarchs to capitalize and manage these extractions. Finding a way to capitalize and manage these extractions that financially benefits every Russian citizen as a shareholder of these resources is a top down strategic challenge. But what about bottom up wealth creation? Can these top down strategists perceive concurrent bottom up development strategies? What about the small entrepreneur and his employees/outsourced contractors who are starting with no capital but just an idea of what the free consumer market wants and how they can put it together so as to enjoy the profit of their endeavours without the states foot on their neck. Taxation, regulation and bureaucracy are albatrosses around the small entrepreneurs neck and Russia, like every other country, has them. If a man, as an entrepreneur, or a person selling services to an entrepreneur, cannot easily access freely choosing market individuals to sell his output to, and then keep the organically earned capital this endeavour produces then he can never be truly free. Only privately earned and owned capital can provide an individual true freedom in the temporal sense. Capital produces choices and choices equate to temporal freedom. Individuals looking to earn their freedom don’t need the likes of Glaznev or Hudson to work it out for them. And while I think Putin definitely is sincere in his desire to empower the individual Russian citizen I am not sure that his personal history has prepared him to understand bottom up wealth creation and unmolested private capital ownership. The taxation, over regulation and it’s attendant obstructionist bureaucracy will remain. It is how state ” public servants” think. It is how their oligarchs and inexperienced “intellectual” advisors think. It is how a large chunk of the public conditioned to have an “authority” distribute what they themselves have produced think. Putin seems to be searching for answers. I wish Russia well and hope they find the formula. In any event by setting nations free to be sovereign Russia has become freedoms champion and has laid the groundwork for some sovereign nation somewhere, someday to find that formula.
“…What about the small entrepreneur and his employees/outsourced contractors who are starting with no capital but just an idea of what the free consumer market wants and how they can put it together so as to enjoy the profit of their endeavours without the states foot on their neck…”
This doesn’t produce the ideal society he wishes for. That’s the liberalism (classical) that was not enough, and which came with that “states foot” too. All the citizens in that ideal society have a new (deeper) understanding and sense of union. No one is an island all to himself. That ideal society integrates all the good of the individual (sense) with all the good of the collective (sense). Not easy. It has been attempted only half-way, right? It has never been accomplished. We just know for sure that it must take a really great and strong leadership to achieve it. The core is a top down process, not bottom up. For example, evil is not tolerated. The producer of evil is told to stop and his argument that no one knows what “evil” is, is not accepted. He must stop. Otherwise, we already know how it ends – who are we kidding! Evil will spread itself, otherwise; there is no defense against it, otherwise. Social laws like they have now there are temporary, I think, not forever. With this level of progress and technology, there should not be any unemployment; all the basic needs like work and health should be available as a right in that ideal society. A wise leadership creates the ideal society; it’s a construction. Plato should be read carefully. He was smart and thought about it long and hard, and many of those things he wrote are timeless. He says in “The Republic” that the builders of the ideal society (state) ought to be “philosophers.”
Plato was discussing “philosopher kings”. The “kings” part being the key to it all- the who is in charge, who is the controller of it all. The trouble with all these centralised top down systems is that they depend utterly on who is in control. Who is at the top is what matters. For a brief time it may be that those at the top have good and honourable intent. They want to build. They want to see development. They want to improve. They are honourable and honest. Soon enough they depart (move on to other things, retire or pass away). Then new people arrive. Generally these people are not as good as those who preceded them. The good turn out to be but a brief aberration.
It is an unwelcome fact that a large group government attracts number amongst the worst of all people. It is another unwelcome fact that it is the worst who are capable of the most ruthless and immoral acts. These are the people who lust for power for the sake of wielding that power over other people. They are prepared to do whatever it takes to get ahead (that is, to get themselves ahead). No cost to other people is too much to spend, no deprivation too much to impose on others, no expropriation too much to convert, no lie to big to tell, no deviance or perversion too disgusting to avoid, no arbitrary regulation too irrational to impose on others, no innocence too valued to corrupt and so it goes.
There are two unavoidable fatal flaws of inherent within centralised top down systems. These are why they can never work out well in the end. They are metastable. They demand ever growing resources and efforts to maintain. They can only exist beneficially for their host for a strictly limited time period before either catastrophically imploding or slowly corrupting until they fail to operate in any usefully moral sense at all. The two flaws are:
1. The immoral attracted to power end up dominating the institution of government.
2. The insolvable problem of socialist calculation.
It matters not what plans or prognostications Hudson or whomever provide. Those are mere wishes which simply amount to “if only the right people are in charge and do the stuff my aesthetic sensibilities demand”. You know, the old “just do as I say, then all will be good and all will be well” incantations. It’s just academic nonsense.
Befree is correct. With any of these systems the little guy ends up getting a boot on the throat. Yet it is he (the little guy, the individual) that should be freed in order to innovate, create, build and develop and lead his own life free from let or hindrance (including those imposed by bureaucracies and corrupt government). So long as the individual is enslaved the society itself is enslaved. The civilisation cannot then move forward very far or for very long. Eventually the cycle of collapse initiates. It is built in right from inception.
In the long run the lessons are clear.
“If you keep doing the same things you will get the same results.”
– Ramsey
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
-Einstein
Top down centralised systems are unfit for humanity. ANY such system, necessarily relying on coercion, fraud and the initiation of violence for its functioning is at core immoral. It is getting to the time where something new has to be developed, else the same shocking (evil) results will end up visiting humanity yet again. Befree is correct in his observations including those on the President.
Not easy to achieve it for a first time (ideal society). Looks doable, though, why not? It’s worth striving for, and to believe it’s achievable.
“Top down centralised systems are unfit for humanity.”
That’s a theory arguably being disproven by China and Russia too, if you will. Russia has risen in this century to heights nobody suspected it would in the year 2000. China has been doing so for more than two-three decades (both are more centralized systems).
You write, “That’s a theory arguably being disproven by China and Russia too, if you will.”
It isn’t a theory. It is an observation of fact of reality. It’s a reality which hasn’t altered in centuries.
Human beings are individual. It is impossible for a small elite at the top of a centralised top down system to make decisions which are beneficial, let alone benevolent, to all the interests of all the individuals in society or geographic region. To do that would require the solution of the socialist calculation problem and that is just not possible. Aside from this it needs to be understood that, as time passes the elite at the top is reduced in morality and in competence. The results are always, to be charitable about it, disappointing.
Until a better system than top down centralisation is embraced human beings will remained trapped in the cycle of boom and bust, rise and fall, rebuilding and rewrecking etc.
My take is that the President is committed to the erections of a better international structure. He sees the needs to encourage a better structure internal to Russia also. Notice he is calling for a superior education for the young and, most importantly of all, improved standard of personal behaviour and personal morality as a life long quest. This is the important portion of his speech. It isn’t minor. It isn’t a throwaway line. It is the key.
“Always remember, everything starts and ends with the individual.”

This is the speech where he spoke about the future ideal society! I read quotes in the media. Good luck. Nobody has achieved it yet in a lasting way. He should keep what he has and try to improve it, which is what he seems to be doing. Another system should not be adopted, and I’d say the quicker they baptize what they have, give it a formal name, the better! I think he should do away with the two-term limit. That’s a bad thing. It has the opposite effect. People just want to be the next president. He should also consider his own experience. If you see Putin in 2008 or even 2012, which would be at the end of about two terms now, it’s not the same guy, or not the equal of Putin today. That’s the work of experience! Maybe he has not yet hit his prime (we just notice the ascent). After 8 to 12 years, your ideal president may really take off – that’s not when you want to tell him that he has to go home just because. For that society, ideal leaders are needed.
Wow, I wish I came from a country with a long rich history. People who are proud of their heritage. The American Dream that never happened and destined to fail. Even the countries my ancestors came to America from are the same if not worse than America is on all aspects.
Putin is a great example of a leader who loves his country and has its best interests at heart. America is a place of inversion, division, and retardation.
He went down somewhat in my estimation with his desire for growth. On a finite planet, continuous growth, like Capitalism requires is not possible, eventually you hit limits which we are doing now.
A completely different way of organizing he economy for the benefit of all without trashing the planet needs developing.
Putin is a nationalist and believes in the nation state. Global Homo west is an absolute disgrace at this point. Rather than promote the national interest, culture, history etc. it promotes woke BS. Anti science , anti history , anti Christ. I have seen the face of evil and it ain’t Putin.
I have a question that I hope the readers of this post will help me understand. ZH posted an article about the dangers of digital currency: https://www.zerohedge.com/crypto/where-central-banks-have-issued-digital-currencies On the map (in the article) it shows that Russia has already launched a digital currency pilot program. Why would Putin do this? Doesn’t this feed into the hands of the WEF and NWO, which in essence he vows to destroy? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Spoken as 1 of the leaders of a more free world
Great to see a leader of a country speak well and actually say something
Not receiving any feed but will keep trying.

Not wearing masks, but still doing that distancing thing, sitting several feet apart from each other.
