These past weeks have witnessed a lot of tensions running high, with Israel and Iran reportedly facing off near the Golan Heights. Israel has launched several airstrikes on “Iranian bases” across Syria, while Damascus (IRGC allegedly) responded with missile fire against IDF positions. In the aftermath of these hit and run attacks, Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad travelled once more to Russia to meet with his ally Russian president Vladimir Putin to discuss the course of the war and the political process to end it. During the meeting, president Putin announced that foreign forces would withdraw from Syria, he did however not make any mention on who he was referring to, leaving the statement rather cryptic.
“We proceed from the fact that in connection with the significant victories and successes of the Syrian army in the fight against terrorism, with the beginning of a more active part, with the beginning of the political process in a more active phase, foreign armed forces will withdraw from the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic.”
The Russian president failed to explain how he would coerce the US and the Turkish occupation forces to withdraw from the northern and eastern parts of Syria.
In any case, this statement was not taken well by Tehran, as the Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Bahram Ghassemi, responded to Vladimir Putin’s statement regarding the withdrawal of all foreign nations from Syria.
“We will stay inside Syria as long as there is a terrorist threat and as long as the Syrian government wants us there,” Ghassemi stated. This came after Damascus had urged Tehran to remain in Syria until all terrorist forces and occupation forces are gone.
Now all of this had been rather irrelevant had there not been a background of disagreement and tensions behind these recent escalations and Russia’s role in Syria. Many observers fail to understand that while Moscow’s objectives in Syria may at times be conflated with those of Tehran’s and Damascus’, this may not always be the case. How many times have you seen people online wondering why Russia won’t supply the Syrian government with its most advanced weaponry? Or why Moscow never responds to Israeli aggression? This has left many confused over Russia’s role in Syria with some even calling Putin a traitor after his meeting with Netanyahu in early May, a meeting that sparked rumours that “Putin was sending a message to Syria”.
Until July 2015, Russia was shipping weapons and supplies to the Syrian government. Russia had up until this time believed that in a worst-case scenario, the Syrian government would be able to hold on to its most vital areas, including the Alawite province of Latakia, where the Russian Air Force is currently operating from. Two important events over the course of a year encouraged Moscow to officially join the war in Syria. First the coup in Ukraine and its aftermath, the second was the military situation in Syria at the time. In the spring of 2015 the situation had become dire for the overstretched Syrian Army and its allies. This is when it was decided that government forces would retreat from almost all rural areas in Syria due to the massive pressure faced by Washington’s jihadists. It is also when General Qasem Soleimani from the IRGC Quds forces went to Moscow and meet with high ranking Russian officials to discuss the need for a direct Russian involvement.
Iran was not able to alone hold off the jihadists who were receiving massive amounts of financial and military support and would have had to sent the entire Iranian Army into Syria. Although the Islamic Republic was and still is willing to risk everything by overtly intervening militarily in Syria through the deployment of the Iranian Army, the consequences of such a move would be an all out regional war as Saudi Arabia and Israel would directly intervene too. Surely Moscow must have made the same calculation and understood that the only way to actually de-escalate the situation was to intervene with the Russian Air Force.
Moscow is in Syria to end the war, not to start a new one. It will do everything in its power to prevent an escalation. Russia has several interests and some of them align with Damascus’ and Tehran’s interests: 1- to eliminate Caucasian terrorists and prevent them from returning to Russian soil, 2 – to ensure the long-term presence of its naval base in Tartous, 3- to settle the Syrian matter politically and 4 – to prevent Washington from achieving the regime change agenda, thus creating another failed state in the region. What Iran and Russia first and foremost don’t agree on is the importance of Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad. For Tehran Assad remaining in power is everything, and the whole reason why Iran has been backing the Syrian government for all these years, ensuring Assad’s survival means ensuring Hezbollah’s survival. For Russia on the other hand, a stable Syrian government is enough, and Assad’s go or no go does not carry the same weight for Moscow as it does for Tehran. Russia had up until last year been open to the prospect of Assad stepping down, emphasising that it is not Assad they are supporting but rather Syria, whereas Tehran has been very vocal about its unconditional support for Assad. It’s not until recent years that Moscow has understood what it is dealing with in Syria and that any kind of compromise with Washington is doomed to fail.
In 2016, Moscow was very open for negotiations and even negotiated with Washington several times on nationwide ceasefires that ultimately failed and cost several Iranian and Syrian lives as Washington’s jihadists kept taking advantage of the ceasefires to regroup and rearm. After a lot of internal disagreement between Iran and Russia regarding the value of these pointless ceasefires, Moscow was forced to realize that it needs an upper hand in order to force Washington back to the negotiations table. So Aleppo was liberated and Washington was outmanoeuvred by Moscow, Tehran and a turn-coat in Ankara and the following year ISIS was virtually defeated, especially after Syrian and Iranian backed forces liberated the crucial border city of Albukamaal, thus re-opening the Tehran-Damascus highway for the first time in years.
Since Russia entered the Syrian war, it has become clear that Moscow controls military operations in the northern and central parts of the country and Tehran controls the operations to the south of the country, a fact that bothers the Zionist regime in Israel. Tehran and Moscow have several times disagreed on military operations and prioritizing the multiple frontlines. For example, the IRGC have been very vocal about their wish to liberate southern Syria and then move on to the occupied Golan Heights, Moscow has so far opposed this, yet despite tensions among some parts of the Iranian leadership over Moscow’s position, this has still not stopped these two countries from cooperating because Tehran recognizes that only Russia has the international prestige and power to shift the attention to fighting ISIS instead of the Syrian government, something that Moscow actually succeeded in doing.
As I have previously said, Syria also plays host to another separate conflict, the one between Israel and Iran. Russia and Israel on the other hand enjoy rather good relations, despite their differences in Syria. Israel would not remain so calm with regards to the Russian intervention if Tel Aviv and Moscow did not have an understanding already. Israel sees Russia as a guarantor for keeping Iranian-led forces at bay, since Moscow has the ability to largely dictate military operations, often opting for the northern and central parts of the country. Israel is well aware that without Russian presence in Syria, Iran would have to beef up its presence with thousands of more troops, so Israel remains rather silent to Russian weapons deliveries to Syria for example. It is important to remember that Russia is not a party to the Israel-Syria/Iran conflict and will not take part in any future war between these forces. In fact, in light of the recent Israeli aggression in Syria, Moscow has urged Tel Aviv, Damascus and Tehran to show restraint. It is because of Moscow’s insistence that Damascus and Tehran have on so many occasions refrained from responding to Israeli attacks. Still, Moscow’s objectives are for now closely aligned to those of the Resistance axis ( Syria, Iran and Hezbollah) and Russia needs this alliance to achieve its objectives in Syria. It is after all the resistance axis that has been doing the heavy lifting on the ground, paving the way for a political solution to even be considered possible. So while Russia doesn’t want to see an escalation with Damascus and Tehran engaging Israeli forces in the south, this does not mean that Moscow will stop Tehran and Damascus from retaliating if Israel crosses certain lines.
On the night of 10 May, Syrian forces – despite warnings from Moscow chose to respond to another Israeli attack which indicates that either Moscow gave Damascus a green light or Damascus chose to defy Russian advice and retaliate, thus raising the tensions even further. Both scenarios would seem likely to play out, but the latter, which I believe to be the case, confirms the nature of this alliance; an alliance founded on mutual interests with some disagreement from time to time, unlike Washington’s “alliances” which are founded on Washington’s hegemony and threats.
For now, Damascus and Tehran will respect the dynamic of the Israeli-Russian relations just as Moscow will respect the deepened Iran-Syria relation and their interests. Despite Russia’s tremendous support for Damascus, Damascus and Tehran will pursue their own objectives for this war, which involves a military solution aimed at liberating the entire country as opposed to Russia’s political process aimed at reconciling different parties to the conflict. This is not to say that Tehran and Damascus aren’t thankful for what Moscow has done in Syria, but rather it displays the nature of this alliance, one characterized by mutual respect for each others interests. Tehran’s and Damascus’ approach should manifest itself in a couple of weeks when Syrian government forces move their focus from the capital to the southern Daraa and Quneitra provinces. As the Resistance axis will move closer to the territories occupied by Israel, tension will keep rising.
While Russia may not be part of the Resistance Axis against Israel, and some of its objectives conflict with those of Iran’s and Syria’s, Moscow’s role in Syria can never be stressed enough, and without Moscow in the picture, not only would Syria have been destroyed but a large regional war would most likely have broken out.
As the Syrian “civil” war phase is coming to an end, the question that remains lingering is : what will happen if the Zionist axis, despite Moscow’s mediation attempts, choose to start a war anyways? Will Russia idly stand by and see all its efforts go to waste or will it be forced to take action? More importantly: will the Russian-Iranian-Syrian alliance survive such an escalation?
“The Russian president failed to explain how he would coerce the US and the Turkish occupation forces to withdraw from the northern and eastern parts of Syria.”
Exactly. So the war aint over. Any formal acceptance of the partitioning of Syria (e.g. under the cover of a supposed Cold War 2.0 mentality, a “frozen conflict”, Korea redux etc) is a victory for the AZE. It will also make the reappointment of Medvedev look so, so tame in comparison ;).
There is no Russian-Iranian-Syrian alliance alliance. Neither will it be an AZE victory but that of the current Global Oligarchy.
Constant low-level war, anywhere, everywhere.

“In explaining Israel’s objectives in coordination with the Russians, Netanyahu told CNN in an interview on Sunday: “I went to Moscow to make it clear that we should avoid a clash between Russian forces and Israeli forces.”
“In Syria, I’ve defined my goals. They’re to protect the security of my people and my country. Russia has different goals. But they shouldn’t clash,” he said.
When asked by Reuters about the talks, an official at the Russian embassy in Israel declined to comment.”
https://english.alwatanvoice.com/news/2015/10/07/788492.html
“According to the media report, Israel will submit more requests to the Russians in exchange for “attractive” offers to facilitate the Russian army’s military operations in Syria. It also revealed that Netanyahu and Putin have agreed on several issue in principle, including a Russian pledge to stop the flow of weapons from Syria to Hezbollah, as well as to allow the Israeli air force to carry out operations freely in Syria, even in areas where the Russian army is stationed on the Syrian coast.
Senior officers in the Russian and Israeli air forces will discuss the mechanisms for the coordination of Israeli overflights of Syrian airspace to avoid any conflict with Russian aircraft on operations against opposition groups. Israel is likely to request Russia to coordinate its moves in the Mediterranean in a manner that does not affect Israeli submarines gathering intelligence about Lebanon and Syria.
Another report by Israel Radio on Sunday claimed that Tel Aviv will provide vital intelligence to the Russians in a bid to reduce Iranian influence in Syria.”
So, now we are believing Netanyahu?
And Cnn ??
Reading both those articles one gets the impression Christmas came early for Netanyahu – he gets everything he coulda wished for in his wildest dreams as well as some “electromagnetic coordination.”
Included is roam the Syrian skies free as a bird and … dump his bombs as he pleases. Heehee. Jus’ goes to show what magic mushrooms can do for you.
Can’t help but wonder if those hasbara IDF trolls of his (have no more Palestinian kids to shoot and can’t lob missiles at Syria at the moment) have been put to work inventing sayings for Putin and Nutti-Fruitcake-Yahoo.

Ambassador Alexander Shein in interview for @ynetnews : “Russia takes into account Israeli interests and concerns with regard to Syria”
https://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-5240485,00.html
Quote
As for Israel’s concerns about the Iranian presence in Syria, especially in the wake of Iran’s threats to destroy Israel, the ambassador said:
“Russia is constantly taking into account Israel’s concerns and interests in maintaining national security. The mutual relations between Israel and Iran in light of the mutual threats and the mutual rejection of the two countries. We must be concerned that Iran now has a presence in Syria. This could lead to a worsening and warming of the entire region in the Middle East, and we of course can not help but be concerned about it.”
He responded to Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s remarks to Ynet that if Russian missile systems were launched against Israel from Syria, they would be destroyed:
“I do not describe such a scenario, there is coordination between us and a mutual update on me in Syria. It is not clear to me what brought Mr. Lieberman to speak like that. To date, there have been no incidents between us and not even hints at incidents, and I hope they will not happen either”

Don’t be such a pessimist. Putin knows what he is doing.
Putin, like Trump is an Israeli stooge. The whole world is a stage and ALL opposition is controlled.
Netanyahu showed Putin for what he is….a phony. And the S-300 is not the most advanced Russian SAM system.
As I said many times, whatever doesn’t lead to a full scale war, will be the preferred strategy of Russia. Draw the enemy in, wait for the dollar to lose control, and the parasite will die in the desert. It is a much longer process that does not impress some armchair-Internet generals but it will save many lives, and perhaps, the entire existence on the planet earth.
very very very well said
TRH, Excellent comment.
Author,
And where do you see the end of Syrian conflict? It’s not going to happen any time soon. Keep dreaming.
Syrians, have a long way to go, as they seem to be throwing themselves from one fire to another. They have to many “western sleeping agents of terror” all over the place. I do hope for the peace to come to these people seen, but it’s not going to happen that soon. If I was to play “a wizardly foreteller, which I am not” they have no less that two years of struggle before them.
The Arch of Stability — Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Russia and China — had better hold, because Russia is next on the AZC Hit List, after Iran and before China.
“We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.” — Benjamin Franklin
well..i guess i am the only one who doesn’t understand Putins ambivalent behavior.
sure would be nice to have him actually state his intentions…..but i guess it doesn’t matter since every commentator on the web knows exactly what he is up to.
he is friends with bibi so he cant allow the delivery of the s-300 already agreed to…because bibi needs to be able to bomb at will….
he cant allow Syria or Iran to defend their men because it might lead to a larger war….when israel has stated their intentions of killing Assad and bombing Iran with americas help because it is Iran!..that is responsible for terror.
maybe….he really just doesn’t have any plan..or any intentions regarding Syria or even Iran…beyond what he has already achieved in Syria.
i just wish he would say it!
after all…it is certain israel and america already know it.
.
Turkey is part of the alliance too. Their interests will also have to be taken into consideration.
This question will most likely be overshadowed by the US attack on Iran which is scheduled in the Neocon calender for 2018.
Some will say that Israel is the 800 lb gorilla in the room, but to my thinking pan-Ottomanism plays a role.
I agree. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Nagorno-Karabakh war flare up during the World Cup. Everyone talks about “Greater Israel” when “Greater Turkey” is the bigger threat.
If I was Putin, I’ll be pretty fed up with the traitorous behavior of Arabs and Persians and Turks who shift alliances as they please. If they can’t take care of their countries, why should Russia even intervene.
No matter what, Muslims will support its Ummah inside Russia to plot against the Russian central Govt. The Islamic faith requires Muslims to help each other. There is nothing wrong with this. Its stupid if the Russian elites don’t recognize this. The loyalty of Muslims is to their community first, not to Russia who has helped them like no other country in the world has ever did. From soviet union helping all the Arab Nationalist states in setting up a decent country to Putin’s continous generous help.
What does Russia get in return? Kadyrov who would secede from Russia at the sign of shortest trouble, all the Caucasian “freedom fighters” who wouldn’t hesitate to murder and sell Russians in slave markets to their Arab Brethren ( Look at the Chechen wars) , Sunni Muslims around the world who still haven’t denounced Wahabi ideology and Wahabi thugs who does all the fighting for them.
See what happens when Russian govt is weakened. Muslims will show who they are.
Judeo-Christian ? Now there’s an oxy-moron if I ever heard one.
Okay, so what exactly does Russia get from Israel ? Name me one benefit.
In the 1990’s, when the vultures (majority of whom were Jewish) descended on helpless Russia, to loot and steal the countries natural resources, Putin squashed all that and where did many of these criminals escape to? Israel. They are still wanted persons in Russia.
Who do you think turned the tide in the Donbass, routing and destroying the Kiev junta’s (again, majority Jewish) forces? It was Mr. Kadyrov’s men, that’s who. I hate to break it to you, but Mr. Kadyrov is very popular in Russia. As the Chechens shook off the CIA, Mossad, Wahhabi plot to subvert Russia.
Even today, the majority of people slandering, showing hostility to Russia are predominantly international Jews, who push for sanctions and war mongering against Russia. From columnists, MSM personalities, politicians and think tanks, one thing stands out. Its a Jewish thing.
And the same thing goes for the U.S. One is hard pressed, and ultimately will fail, in finding one benefit the U.S. receives from the Zionist apartheid entity occupying Palestine. Not one benefit.
I imagine Netanyahu promised Putin that all the sanctions imposed by the U.S. would disappear, if he sells out allies Syria and Iran. Both Netanyahu and Putin know full well that the sanctions regime against Russia is a Jewish motivated pogram.
Look, Russia has had a blood soaked history when it comes to Jews, starting centuries ago with the Talmudic Rabbinical Khazars, who incessantly were at war with the ‘Russ’, until a Mongol Muslim army, the Golden Horde defeated the Khazars and scattered them to the winds.
Then international Jews were at it again, culminating in the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917(85% of the first Bolshevik government were Jews – Putin’s own words) resulting in the biggest genocide in human history. The Checks, NKVD, and Gulag bosses were predominantlyJews. Al Franken, a Jew, coined the term ‘ you eat as much as you work ‘ , which escalated the orgy of killing, wiping out millions. In fact the first law enacted by the first Bolshevik Jewish government was that anti-Semitism was punishable by death.
It would be unwise to think that the Russian people have not learned from their own history. And Putin patronizing Netanyahu is just cold, hard diplomacy. But Putin and Russia know full well the nature of Israel, as no benefit comes from the Zionist entity, but so long as Netanyahu keeps the Russian informed on their goals in the region, Putin is all for it.
There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world today, and only a minute fraction subscribe to the political ideology of Wahhabism, and that’s what it is, a political ideology, akin to Zionism. It is not a religious ideology. At most, if you do the math, about 0.0009 % of Muslims are Wahhabi’s.
If Putin and Russia want to fold, and hand over their sovereignty, that’s entirely up to them, but the real power, albeit a silent one, that will ultimately decide the future of the Middle-East is China. Iran doesn’t need Russian duplicity. China will offset any sanctions imposed on Iran. As a matter of fact, the first freight cargo train just left China last week headed for Iran. Iran, Iraq, Syria all play an important role in China’s multi trillion dollar OR-OB initiative.
So, what, and how exactly does Russia benefit from Israel? Not much, except a subversive fifth column of Israel firster’s- Russians who want to see Russia Balkanized and her resources stolen/looted.
China does not have this problem of a subversive fifth column, of the Jewish kind or any kind. And while the 20th century belonged to the U.S., which was a disaster for mankind, rest assured that the 21st century and beyond will be driven by China. And the Chinese have no problem with Arabs and Muslims, save for a few troublemakers in the north-west which are being indoctrinated by the CIA, Mossad and Wahhabism. But China is wise, they are pumping vast amounts of money, raising the standard of living for the Uighurs, following the Russian model in the Chechen Republic, which has been successful.
Israel, does not offer one single country in the world with one single benefit. It is parasitical in nature. Always has, always will be.
The “democratic” regime of Yeltsin in 1990s was run by British,American, Jewish and Georgian mafia. Its not just the Jews.
No matter how much you try to “spin” it, Chechen wars was a stab in the heart of Russia.
Russophobia is a Western problem in general. Not just of the jews.
Khazars were crushed by Russian tribes around 9-10th century. Mongols were not there in the picture at all.
Bolshevik Revolution had its advantages. Stalin turned a ragtag peasant country to a industrial nuclear superpower.
Know your facts, mr. Bored Muslim
“Russophobia is a Western problem in general. Not just of the jews”
Nonsense! Every Western government is completely dominated by Jewish power. Jewish power controls the mass media of not just the US, but the entire West. It controls the international banking system. You need only look around at the ridiculous way that Western politicians kiss up to Jewish power…and the obvious fear they have of that power. Every candidate for federal office in the USA must “kiss the ring” of the Israelis and the Jewish lobby to be considered a “serious candidate” by the Jewish dominated media.
To say that “Western animosity” towards Russia is driven by anything other than Jewish power is simply a lie…a very poor lie that is easily refuted by simply turning on any one of the major new networks and observing for a few moments.
Mr. Bored Muslim, go Try to justify the ottoman tyranny where millions of Orthodox Christians suffered. Ottomans took Christian boys as slaves and made them fight against fellow Christians . who knows what nasty crimes against God was happening in the harems of the ottoman elites where Christian women were kidnapped and kept as sex slaves.
Not to mention, Crimean “Muslim” Tatars were indulging in kidnapping Slavic women from southern Ukraine and selling to Ottoman Turks. Real Muslim solidarity there.
Orthodox Christians were kept in feudal state with terrible taxation and as second class dhimmis who had to “know their place”.
All these facts may be not remembered by you but we will remember and never forget.
I agree with most of what you say bored Muslim. However I’m not that sure China is following Russia’s successful Chechnya model. The Chinese instead are making things more difficult for the Hui Muslims and the Uighurs. Instead of differentiating between extremist and others they appear to be painting all with the same brush.
.
Judeo-Christian seems to be parroting the standard rote of islamophobes . I suppose other readers will pick on it. If someone doesn’t know who a Wahabi is and calls all Muslims Wahabi….well thats the end of the dialog.
Judeo,
I must admit that its rather interesting following the back and forth between you two. I am not too familiar with your past commentary but I have always appreciated BoredMuslims posts. As an Orthodox Christian, the “who’s the greater enemy of the Orthodox Christian” counter narratives only remind us that we have many enemies (Vatican being the ringleaders). Believe me, we know.
But thankfully there are genuine followers of God, Sheikh Imran Hosein in particular, who have called out the evil ways of the Ottomans and apologizes on behalf of all good Muslims. Thanks to Saker for providing a forum for such a genuine believer.
The ottomans did much worse than just treating Orthodox Christians as “second rate ” and tax slaves. We were SLAVES. Our women were raped on their wedding nights. Our children were kidnapped from their homes, tortured and brainwashed to become butchers of their own people and the elite of the Ottoman war machine. This continued for centuries until they were forcibly driven out from Orthodox lands, by Orthodox peoples.
Judeo, do you know who saved the Jews during WWII? It wasn’t those Judeo-Christians (Catholics and other western denominations). It was the Orthodox Christians. While the Catholic Nazis and muslim Nazis , aka croatians, bosnian muslims and Albanians, Ukrainian Banderists etc. were slaughtering both Jews and Orthodox Christians, we were dying next to and protecting the Jews. You know who the croatians
are, right? They’re the ones Israel is selling their F16’s to. Oh and training their soldiers.
Here’s Michael Savage to give you a little insight into what those “great friends” of the Jews did in WWII:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IDOiYxzKMbw
And how have the Jews of the west and Israel thanked Orthodox Christians? By supporting the Nazi collaborators against us and manufacturing propaganda on behalf of our common butchers. I can provide many personal anecdotes to attest to these facts. But the most poignant for me was my trip to the Holocaust museum in Washington, immediately after it opened.
Oh, the shameless hypocrisy and sheer audacity that we witnessed will never be forgotten. Considering that the greatest genocide of WWII in one nation took place in the Serbian Kingdom of Yugoslavia, one would think that there would have been at least one damn mention of atrocities committed against the Orthodox Serbs, Jews and gypsies. Just in the Nazi puppet state of croatia, Germans estimated the number of systemically massacred Serbs to be 750,000.
Nothing!
No mention of the death camp Jasenovac. No mention of the thousands of Jews saved by their Serbian neighbors. But there’s more. There were actually exhibits of how croatians and bosnian muslims saved the Jews.
SOULLESS!
Yeah, we know all too well my friend. And we’ll always remember.
Apologies, slight correction. Should have read: greatest genocide in WWII of any nation, in relation to its population.
Women raped on wedding night by the Ottomans? Source? Proof?
Catholic Nazis were the worst. The worst totalitarians. I have nothing but respect and Sympathy for the Srbs who have suffered the most. The dark humor of the Serbs are among the best. For ex. “You will only learn if your country is raped”. This kind of mentality and suffering produces a strong culture and resistance to aggression & thuggery by the Anglo Zionists and their Wahabi monsters.
Epithet dixit! That’s how the things are! I totally argree with him and fully understand his sentiment and furious anger. It’s a big tragedy. There are not many peoples in Europe being more often betrayed and stabbed in the back than the Serbs. Shame on the Turks, the Austro-Hungarians, the Germans, Italiens, the Kroats, the Santa Sede and even the British Royalist who let down the royalist Mihailowich in favor of the communist Tito.
Arabs are not traitors, their western stooge leaders are and neither Iranians are traitors. Iranians have been loyal to their allies but their allies have been erratic due to sanctions imposed over Iran. Didn’t your ‘orthodox eastern European’ brethren betray you? what happened to the great ‘Slavic brotherhood’ when the Balkan puppet states started joining NATO? but they are not betrayers to you.
Islam rejects nationalism, the loyalty of a muslim should not be to a piece of land, an ethnic group or a confederation but to God alone. Singing national anthems and waiving colorful flags has no value in Islam. For a true muslim, sovereignty cannot belong to nation states but belongs to God alone.
Muslims are obliged to help their fellow muslims in other parts of the world but help is to be extended only in right things. It is not permissible for muslims to join together and be unjust, oppress and spread terrorism in other people’s lands.
I don’t know where you got the info about modern Russia being the biggest helper of muslims. If you are referring to the Russian help in the syrian civil war, then you need to read the article again. The article clearly states that the interest of Russia was to enter the conflict. Russia didn’t enter the conflict to help the muslims. Russia’s help is much appreciated in turning the tides of war. The help that the USSR provided had their own personal agenda of spreading their ideology in the Arab lands. By your logic, even the Americans helped muslims in setting up modern states.
Muslims would take care of their countries very well had it not been for the Judeo-Christian western civilization invading muslim lands and spreading terror, death, destruction and enslaving their economies. The muslims who are still resisting the oppression against Iran, Afghanistan and Yemen by Judeo-Christian imperialism are designated as terrorists. Then the western media goes around with their propaganda about not just muslims lands but other third world countries (in latin america, africa, south and south east asia) being dens of thieves, gangs, not being able to take care of themselves hence needing the ‘benevolent assistance’ from the Judeo-Christian civilization. How would the poor countries prosper when they have been looted by your colonial economic system and devastated by your armies. The economic system is rigged to make the western world prosper.
When the Russian government is weakened, your Judeo-christian ‘brothers’ in Europe will show their true faces and start their great loot of Russia as they did in the 1990s.
Well Anon, you’ve managed to conflate three entirely different positions. Even if your argument was properly directed, you’ve still somehow managed to make the supposition that I subscribe to an Orthodox Brotherhood and I should feel betrayed by my neighbors joining NATO ? Huh? What?
Regarding the Orthodox brotherhood comment, that you alone mentioned (Not me ), history has taught me better. Like Russia, Serbia has been backstabbed far too many times to seriously entertain such an juvenile notion. We will always be brothers with Russia and have love for the Greeks, but that’s about it Anon,Sorry.
Secondly, that “I should feel betrayed by neighbors joining nato”. I think this time you were addressing me? Uh, Serbia’s and Russia’s neighbors have been murdering and stealing their lands for centuries. Why should I feel betrayed by our enemies? If you’re alluding to Montenegro (aka narco-mafia cabal puppet state), you’re truly foolish. Real Montenegrins, not The Albania mafia, Milo has been importing, are Serbs. Some of the bravest and most patriotic in fact. The people cannot be held responsible when a “country” of 600,000 is easily controlled by an empire.
You’re comment regarding Islam is admirable, but guess what, we’re Christians and Slavs, who value both our religion and nationality. And I’m dam proud of it! <smiley face
Are you suggesting that Iranians are Arabs? They have few in the south, the rest are “IraniansPersians”.
Funny enough, last weekend I had a discussion in which someone was trying to convince me that Persians were brown skinned people, which they are not. Maybe the sun-tan darker, but some Europeans brown up just as fast in the spring. Also, I happen to mention in the argument, that some one in Germany was paddling the Arian=blue-eyed, blond SS types”. I had news for that person: Persians are Arians, not Germans.
Did i say that Iranians are Arabs? No
Iran is a homogeneous nation only to non-Iranians. Iran has many ethnic groups and many Iranians have non-Iranian ancestry. There are many people in Iran who have Arab, turkic and even african ancestry.
http://www.mahdi-ehsaei.com/afro-iran/
The homeland of Aryans (Persia) is ruled by Ayatollah who has Semitic (arab hashemite) ancestry.
Persian, afghan, pakistani and north indian muslims don’t identify themselves as Aryans.
A solid analysis. The best way of looking at the situation:
— There is a strong, long-term alliance between Russia and Syria. The
— There is a much weaker, short-term arrangement between Iran and Syria that is situational, not an alliance. The primary goal being Syria’s territorial integrity.
The Syrian-Russian alliance is forward looking and wants to end the Northern conflict so that Syrian citizens can begin to return and rebuild. The Syrian-Russian alliance does not want fighting on a new Southern front, and is not going to protect an Iranian invasion force that will prolong the conflict by attacking south.
‘ Iranian invasion force ‘ ? The Iranians were invited by the legitimate Syrian government.
By your reasoning, then Russia is an invasion force too, huh? Syria and Iran have very good relations, they are allies facing the same enemy, the shape-shifting Zionist entity and its vassals, the U.S., France and Britain.
Hasbara lately ?
The war has thought Syria leadership some cold hard fact:
-So long as Golan Height remains under occupation of Israel, Syria will not know real peace
-The Zionist want a permanent annexation of the Golan Height
-America military presence in Syria is a prelude to the permanent annexation of Golan and eastern Syria
-America will use her occupation of eastern Syria and Iranian presence as a bargain for Golan Height before it would withdraw from Syria
-Russia will never lift a finger ( its not her duty) to help Syria regain the Golan Height or fight American forces in eastern Syria
-Israel sees the return of Golan to Syria as an existential issue and will never give it back without a military engagement
-The only way through which Syria can completely regain her whole land is through the use of armed resistance
-The only force(s) willing and capable of helping Syria go the full length in regaining the whole of her land is the resistance axis led by Iran
Syria leaders have some bitter decision to make in the not too distant future, they will have to choose between forfeiture of the Golan Height or open ended residence of Iran and her assortment of allies on Syria soil. This is not in tandem with Russia interest as Moscow is already pushing for a political settlement which can mean a permanent presence of American and Zionist forces in Syria and Golan.
As for the hasbara agent just ignore him.
Iran has a solid mutual defence pact with Syria and was actively helping them fight the terrorists for several years before Russia came in.
There is no “Iranian invasion force”.
Iran has not invaded anywhere ever and has no plans to – perhaps by “southern front” you mean Israel’s illegal occupation of Golan. The Syrians, from what I observe, are determined to regain control of this part of their country. Russia will probably not be involved militarily in this aspect of the war.
Iran is actively fostering good relations for the very long term with Syria of course but also Qatar, Iraq, Turkey and everywhere they can including obviously Russia and China.
We should be thankful that the wise Iranian leadership refuse to take the bait of responding to Israeli aggressions designed to give the US an excuse to start an even bigger war in the region.
Iran and Syria had a defence deal before this war.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2005/feb/17/usa.syria
history is a little more then what happened yesterday or last week.
I think we need to keep the comment by the Iranian spokesperson in its proper context. The way the question was framed, it could not be answered in any other form:
“Q) Russia has spoken out of necessity to leave all sides, including Iran, from Syria. Does this mean compelling Iran to withdraw from Syria? (س) روسیه از ضرورت خروج همه طرفها از جمله ایران از سوریه صحبت کرده است. آیا این به معنی اجبار ایران به خروج از سوریه)
What else could the spokesman answer, except:
“No one can force Iran to do anything, Iran is an independent country that determines its own policies. The presence of Iran was at the invitation of the Syrian government to fight against terrorism and defend the territorial integrity of Syria, and as long as the Syrian government wants Iran to help it. Those must leave Syria who have entered the country without the consent of the Syrian government.”
http://mfa.ir/index.aspx?siteid=1&fkeyid=&siteid=1&pageid=176&newsview=515767
Note, however, the phrase “and as long as the Syrian government wants Iran to help it.”
That’s the ley, in my view, to the MFA spokesman’s intention: at some point, Syria may thank us and ask us to withdraw, in which case we will.
Which is the outcome Putin was hinting at.
I think this is the context (inter alia) of Putin not prefacing “foreign forces” by “uninvited”.
Of course there is no question of forcing or compelling anyone: countries should get used to the fact that Russia is not replacing the US in the latter’s role as schoolyard bully. Russia counsels, may even prod, but gently and courteously, respectful of all partners’ sovereignty.
I think what Putin was suggesting was that both the US & allies as well as Turkey will use the excuse of Iran’s presence to refuse to get out of Syria: why us and not them?
I expect a way will be found for Iran to withdraw, or appear to withdraw, without loosing any of its influence in Syria, simply to make it easier to get the US and vassals out of the way.
Or to allow Putin room to work whatever magic he has under his sleeve: if he did “fail to explain how he would coerce the US and the Turkish occupation forces to withdraw from the northern and eastern parts of Syria,” it was because his methods are at this moment unexplainable.
We’ll just have to wait and see how he does this trick of the century…
Look. the fact is that, Russia and Israel -despite whatever Moscow says and believes- are diametrically opposed, as it relates tovthe Syrian conflict.
Israel has stated over and over again, that it wants to see the Syrian state dismantled, and to this end it has supported the terrorists materially and politically.
Even America’s deepning involvement is in large part due to Israeli pressure.
Russia and Israel share no common interest on anything related to Syria.
Nothing.
And I get the feeling, that ultimately Russia will be forced to confront the monster that currently occupies Palestine and threatens to expand its occupation on a regional scale.
A showdown between Russia on one side, and Israel on the other, is inevitable. Its just a matter of when.
A regime that shoots 500 unarmed Palestinian protesters in the head cannot be allow to excape justice forever.
http://mondoweiss.net/2018/05/military-palestinians-protests/
Russia will have to choose a side eventually.
It’s clear what side Russia is on: the side which wants to avoid the general conflagration that the forces of evil, using the neocons and other demon-possessed persons and groups in Israel and FUKUS (and elsewhere) as their agents of destruction.
Threatening Israel alone is pointless: that is just one focal point of evil among many, distributed all over the globe.
The way to help Putin is to work hard to alert men and women of goodwill to the true dangers of the current time, so they can mobilise their power of positive and purposeful thought.
And their prayers, for those who believe in that mode of action.
Let’s just see how this places out.
Those illegally occupying the Palestinian lands are just the bulwark of a global virtual nation; the Iranian intelligence has already noted bank account transactions between the illegal occupiers and European banks, suggesting mass emigration.
Without the Z.U.S.A. the illegal occupiers will not fare well against the Iranians.
Russia/Putin have a very tight rope to walk, and based on past actions, we can expect deft diplomacy and positioning of Russia and their deterrent assets.
The shadow upon the Z.U.S.A. is the petro-yuan and the now unavoidable hard-crash of the empire’s financial underpinnings, at which point, domestic social issues in the Z.U.S.A. will undermine global projection, and the occupying party will truly be isolated, and we may well see a de facto reversal of the artificial isolation upon Iran, and a very real isolation of the remaining occupiers, most the real zealots by that point in time, since one can count on the majority fleeing when their lop-sided advantage withers.
At that time, I will feel sorry for the descendants of the indigenous judaic peoples, who will suffer the repercussions from the crimes of the marauding colonialists; still, anyone identifying with an ideology, which systemically discriminates against all… out-group people, aka humanity, and uses that cultural leverage to systematically negative-sum-gain game everyone else to benefit the in-group ultimately threatens all of humanity, for it is not sustainable.
It’s questionable how accurate this article is. A few points need to be added. It is certainly the aim of Moscow for President Assad to stay in power, as not only is he a factor of stability, he enjoys the wide support of the people of Syria. Yes, Moscow does not wish to see a conflict between US troops and Syrian forces on the ground. However, the last thing Moscow wants to see is the presence of US troops in northern Syria, whose presence is contrary to international law, and whose chief aim is preparing new mercenaries for the overthrow of President Assad and using Syria for a potential attack against Iran.
It is a fact that Russia did not provide Syria with the S-300. However, it has provided Syria with other high tech, like the Pantsir missile system, which proved it’s worth with the downing of cruise missiles fired by the US,UK, France and Israel. The Kornet anti tank missiles systems have also been provided. After the attacks made by the US,UK and France, Moscow sent additional high tech to Syria, including additional Pantsirs. The article is incorrect when it stated that supplies were terminated in July of 2015, the statement being very strange indeed.
Israel might induce the US to start a wider war in Syria. This would mean a repetition of the Iraqi scenario, with entire divisions being brought in. From where ? This time the US cannot count on European support, with the possible exception of Britain. Also, a wider war would present both Israel and the US with tremendous political difficulties on the international scene. Then there is the question of prisoners of war. New articles have appeared on the Internet regarding how many Western troops have been captured by the Syrian military. It would appear that Syria is holding at least 300 French prisoners, all regular troops, not counting prisoners from the US, UK and Israeli military. They will certainly give Damascus a bargaining power.
The impression is that the US that the US has found itself in a position of not knowing what it has to do. It is looking at the rise of Eurasia and it wants to prevent this rise. A wider war is an option. The question is where, in Syria, in Iran, in North Korea or in the Donbas. We shall see.
I am sorry if I was a bit unclear, I didn’t mean to say that Russia terminated its supplies to Syria in 2015, but rather that until 2015 Moscow was ONLY supplying weapons and afterwards entered the war directly.
Again I apologize for the misunderstanding.
No need to apologize, Aram. Your piece is very clear – and you raise very interesting issues, cogently.
we appreciate your work.
Syria doesn’t need the S-300’s. I don’t know why people are so hung up about the S-300’s.
All Syria needed to do was change the rules of engagement, which it did when Syria retaliated with 55 missiles raining down on Israeli military targets in the occupied Golan Heights.
Its ‘ you bomb us, we bomb you’ . It was a new stage in the conflict, and one Israel stands to lose. Look, the Israeli people are not morally or psychologically prepared to get into a missile war with Syria, Hezbollah and Iran.
While the regions people are war hardened, and especially Syria and Lebanon, Israeli society are not used to war, and stand to lose much more.
Another thing, is that by Syria successfully changing the rules of engagement, Israel is in a very venerable position due to its Achilles heel, which is its geographical size.
In a missile war, or even a ground war, Israel will instantly be fighting on two or more shifting fronts, and Israel’s size will make it disastrously venerable to saturation missile bombardment. Once the missiles start flying, Israeli’s will start heading for an exit. Problem is, Ben Gurion airport is slated by Iran and Hezbollah, also probably the Syrian’s if things escalate, for immediate destruction.
Again, Syria changed the rules of engagement. From now on, if Israel attacks Syria, there will be a missile response form Syria. And this scares the daylights out of Israeli’s. Israeli settlers in the occupied Golan are still shaken, and fuming at their government for their recklessness.
Meanwhile, Syria and Syrians at this point have nothing to lose, by stand to gain. Times have changed, and the coming regional war will be decisive, but not in Israel’s favor, even if the U.S. gets involved. It will be determined on the ground, and by way of missiles, not air forces.
On the other hand, the reg
“For Tehran Assad remaining in power is everything, … For Russia on the other hand, a stable Syrian government is enough.”
Russia is going to have to stop keeping to the high moral international law BS ground and start fighting dirty back. If Assad is ever voted out the next Syrian president will allow the US and Israel and Saudi Arabia into Syria in an instant and then all the fighting and hardship borne by the Russians and Iranians in Syria would have had no purpose.
You appear to have psychic powers as to who might be voted in as the next Syrian President?
Would you care to help the rest of us out by telling us who is going to win the Belmont Stakes?
That’s easy, a horse is going to win the Belmont Stakes.
And look how easy it was for an Israeli to nearly become Syrian president, what a disaster that would have been.
https://sputniknews.com/military/201805231064679473-eli-cohen-israeli-spy-in-syria
Business as usual.
Russia, Iran and Syria are working together on some projects, while other initiatives are Iran-Syria only, or Russia-Syria only, or Russia-Iran only.
This is exactly how it should be.
Things have been rather quiet lately but I don’t expect that to continue. As this article concludes, Iran and Syrian forces will move closer to the Golan and it will all begin again. On military analyst, Joel Skousen, said about a week ago he expects and aerial bombardment to commence against Iran in about 6 weeks. Time will tell. What I feel more certain of is the goal of the U.S. and their puppets. This plan to destroy and install compliant leaders in 7 countries in 5 years is still in the works. Iran is on the chopping block and the war-mongering U.S., I don’t believe, has changed its mind.
My gut feeling is Russia will not want to get involved in a military battle with the U.S., Israel, Britain, France and Saudi Arabia at this time. Sooner or later the confrontation will come, but I think Russia will keep hoping for peace but continue to prepare for what seems inevitable.
It is extremely unlikely tat the US will start bombing Iran within the next 6-8 weeks. If they did then the US would never get an agreement with North Korean and would further alienate themselves from the rest of the world.
Hopefully Iran does not start up their Nuclear program in the near future because then all bets are off. The US is likely to attack them almost immediately and I dont like Irans chances of not being bombed back to the stoneage. The US could sustain a bombing campaign for years unless Iran can hit ships and shoot down planes on a daily bases. Iran have not shown much capability of that so far in Syria.
“Iran have not shown much capability of that so far in Syria.”
My understanding is that it is Russia setting the military rules of that theater so far. And Iran has to follow. Putin can say anytime to his soldiers: “Domoj!” which Donald would answer with: “Let’s go!”. And Iran defending itself from the attack and at the same time fighting in Syria without Russia = not very good.
Also that Iran more than once has not counter-attacked Israelis while their soldiers died in such attacks suggests, they are playing along the rules, so far…
For all we know, Israel supported ISIS to topple the legitimate Syrian government. ISIS lost and yet Israel keeps on bombing Syria with impunity and put the blame on Iran. Israel has never been punished for this dastardly act. The defeat of ISIS was because Syria, Russia, and Iran worked like a team to achieve its goal. Now it seems the victory of Syria lies solely on Russia’s intervention and therefore they most of the credit for this victory. Ergo: Putin is now acting as if he is calling the shots to make Iran/hezboolah leave while being passive on the presence of the americans and turkey. Putin is only a good partner in the short term.
The (Jewish) American Empire’s war against Syria is not ending. Make no mistake, the Jewish imperialists and the America Empire will not desist from pursuing their global dominance ambitions, of which the Middle East is a key theater.
The Americans and their Jewish colonial allies have a lust for power, which is the basis of their national identity as nations. They will instinctively attack any other nation or group of nations that stand in the way of their pursuit of a rules based Imperial…sorry…International Order.

Informative and thought provoking article focussing on the Russia-Syria-Iran situation
My observation and great fear is that Russia will be attacked elsewhere and Syria will become only one area of great concern to the Russians amongst several.
For example, scarcely even commented upon in he media are the slew of new US and NATO bases being built in Southern Ukraine along the Black Sea coast.
http://www.stalkerzone.org/entire-black-sea-coast-ukraine-will-become-us-military-base/
It is not unreasonable to assume that these bases will be used to facilitate a terrorist war of aggression inside Russia itself.
But nobody is talking about this – yet. Just like everyone ignored the expanding US presence in Syria with comments like “the war is over” until it was too late.
If Syria was Russia’s only concern then comments about it’s vacillating etc might be justified but we sometimes forget Russia itself is under massive threat and when you read the above report it cannot help but convince you that the situation in the Black Sea has the potential to be much more threatening for Russia than Syria, bad though that is.
Here are my thoughts on everything:
“Secretary of State Pompeo’s direct and fiery demand earlier this week that Iran withdraw from Syria overshadowed President Putin’s indirect and polite request during last week’s Sochi Summit for the same, thereby putting Syria on the spot in having to publicly deny that any such talks were ongoing in order to “save face”, though the American strategy of sabotaging Russia’s peace plan isn’t as clear-cut as it may seem.”
https://www.eurasiafuture.com/2018/05/23/why-did-the-us-sabotage-president-putins-peace-plan-for-syria/
Here is one more reason why the Jewish colonialists would be willing to launch a greater Middle Eastern war that devastates much of that region.
They can always escape to new homeland for the Chosen People in the Patagonian region of Argentina.
I wonder if Argentinians are willing to become the next Palestinians?

Will the Russian-Iranian-Syrian alliance hold as the Syrian war draws close to an end?
Very pertinent question indeed.
This is a brilliant exposition on the dynamics of the relationship between the three ‘Resistance’ actors in Syria. Thank you.
Aram has already answered the question cogently, I think: …the nature of this alliance; an alliance founded on mutual interests with some disagreement from time to time… Yes, the RIS alliance will hold as long as the countries’ interests continue to converge.
There’s not much to add, really, except to repeat what others have said ie that Russia is the main player in the Levant at the moment. Proof of that being the flurry of visits to Russia by the bigwigs of the countries concerned, even the nasty little man in charge of the criminal Tel Aviv regime. Thus everything hinges on what Russia sees as its national interest not just in Syria, but the wider ME. It all depends on what Russia wants, or, more correctly, what it doesn’t want in the ME. It certainly doesn’t want to see more war (proxy or otherwise) in the ME because that will destabilise its southern flank. It is for this reason, I think that RF will try to rein in both Israel and Iran, its good friends, in Syria and beyond. The other piece of good news is — at least for Iran — is that China is stepping in to take over projects abandoned by EU companies in the face of US sanctions. So China now has a direct interest in seeing Iran remaining unmolested.
While the security of the southern flank is certainly important for Russia, I think its Western Front is even more important for several reasons: geographical proximity of conventional forces — the Russian Military Doctrine explicitly states NATO as a “main external military danger”, while fighting terrorism and interference in the internal affairs of RF’s allies (as in Syria) is lower down the list; moral dimension of having to protect ethnic Russians from danger — RF may be forced to act in the Ukraine to save Russian lives if Kiev continues to act foolishly, most likely egged on by its Western ‘friends’. If Russia steps in in the Donbass, nobody can predict how that’s going to evolve. I’m sure the RF General Staff have war-gamed several scenarios but I doubt if the AZ Empire and Poroshenko have, and therein lies the danger.

The leadership of the Government of Israel is so stupid, so very, very stupid.
The regional tension between the Zionists, Arabs and Persians would all go away if Israel ended the occupation of Palestine. Allow the Palestinians to have their own nation and the Middle East will thrive, including Israel. What would it take?
1. A series of meetings between Tel Aviv, Hamas and the PLO to layout the defined and contiguous borders of “New Palestine”. How the country is governed must be of no consequence to the Zionists as long as the military attacks cease from both sides.
2. New Palestine must be guaranteed sovereign control of its own fresh water aquifers.
3. The Palestinians must have unfettered access to the Mediterranean Sea for maritime commerce.
4. There must be no encroachment upon Palestinian air corridors for international flights to and from other nations in support of commercial trade and tourism.
5. New Palestine must be allowed the military means and internal police force to defend itself from international terrorist aggression and criminal acts committed against its own people.
By accepting New Palestine, Israel now has a low cost economic market to trade with across its border. The economies of both the Hebrews and the Gentiles will grow and prosper.
The question of Jerusalem is a sensitive issue that has to be addressed. Jerusalem must be designated a separate enclave like the Vatican. The creation of Jerusalem as a City-State that includes its own government will be a safe haven for Christian, Muslim and Hebrew worship of the God of Abraham.
If the Hebrews want to erect another temple to God within their own section of Jerusalem, people would contribute to that fund. It doesn’t matter if God’s temple is not built upon the original location chosen by Solomon. God could care less as long as it was built somewhere in Jerusalem.
@PokeTheTruth
“The regional tension between the Zionists, Arabs and Persians would all go away if Israel ended the occupation of Palestine. Allow the Palestinians to have their own nation and the Middle East will thrive, including Israel. What would it take?”
Sorry but this will never happen. Think about how arrogant you would be, if you got away with stealing a piece of land from the people that lived there previously for thousands of years. Then for the next 70 years you continue your aggression on the people you stole the land from, and also occasionally terrorize the neighboring countries of your newly stolen property. On top of that, all the major world powers are giving you free reign, and all the support you need, because their country is owned by the same group that helped create your country(Zionists). While all this is going on the media paints you as the Heroic good guys, while the people you robbed of the land, killed and exiled, are painted as barbaric animals, who cant live peacefully.
This is just a quick synopsis. Think about the level of arrogance you would have if you got away with all of that??? Ahhhh lets also not forget that you and the people in your country believe they have been “chosen” by God almighty to occupy this land, and God will help you against the people who stand against you and your “rightful inheritance.” And also God only sees you and your people as worthy of any honor, and all others are something below you, and a little above animals. So again I say it will never happen. The only conceivable scenario I can see it happening, is after they have been humbled already, and at that point I think it would be to late. As the people in the area, will remember all the pain and hardship Israel has bought on them in the preceding decades.
Ahmed, I don’t disagree with the clarity of your thoughts you gave in response to my post. It was an appeal to commonsense and good reasoning that Israel must embrace it they hope to have a future without the constant militarism that controls the government today.
The Zionists are wasting billions of shekels from their treasury every year to continue the occupation. They have to (1) guard and maintain the 200 mile wall of apartheid that separates the Palestinians from the Israelis (2) guard the 100 or more checkpoints throughout Palestine (3) protect the Israeli settlers in the West Bank while Palestinian homes are illegally razed and their land stolen (4) patrol the Mediterranean waters off the Gaza Strip to harass Palestinian fishermen who are trying to make a meager living (5) respond to Palestinian political protests by shooting unarmed civilians with lethal force. All of those criminal acts by the Zionists gain them nothing but scorn and the loss of political capital with other nations around the world.
Eventually the Palestinians will come to realize their only hope to save their progeny and their land is to organize and take up arms against their oppressors because no nation State will help them, which we know is the situation today. Israel will not stop the occupation until they are forced to deal with two or three IDF soldiers falling dead every day from sniper fire by teams of well trained Palestinian freedom fighters because violence is the only measure the Zionists understand.
@PokeTheTruth
Thanks for the response. Your appeal to common sense would work on most normal people, but these are not normal people. When it comes to Israel, especially the leadership apparatus, we have to realize that these are full blown psychopaths. Their own behavior will set them up for their eventual downfall.
A few days ago I was thinking about some of the similarities between ISIS and Israel. At their inception they both had western support, although Israel had it overtly, and Isis had it covertly. They were both foreigners who blitzed into a land and dispossessed the people of that land. Even the early history of Israel, was just a coalition of terrorist gangs like the hagana and the irgun, very similar to the terrorists in Syria. Another major difference is Israel was allowed to establish itself, and gained legitimacy in the eyes of most of the world. While Isis, thank God, had a shorter reign. But anytime theirs a discussion of Israel, no one ever mentions how they were established. They don’t ever want to mention how the problem started right there, and everything else that followed was just a continuation of that original injustice.
Quick note you can also throw Saudi Arabia in there. They also were similar to Isis, if you look at how they were established. Key difference was one had overt support, and the other had covert support. They are similar all the way down to their Wahhabi ideology.
Peace.
You really think Israel is stupid? Putin and Trump are their boys.
The province of Latakia, demographically speaking, is majority Sunni; that however does not make it a “Sunni province”, just as there is no “Alawite province” there are only Syrian provinces. Also, I would like to know which theatres of war Iran controls in the south. The border between Syria and southern Lebanon and the Iraqi border, sure I would believe that as those are of vital Iranian interests, but all the battles in Damascus and it’s countryside have been done by the SAA with RuAF support. Also the idea that Syria in any way opposes the Russian reconciliation efforts is total nonsense, as they have been one of the most effective tools for bringing (quite literally) thousands of towns and villages and hundreds of thousands of civilians back under the control of the Syrian state without a single bullet being fired and unnecessary bloodletting, and thus saving life. With all due respect to the author, I view Syria as adopting a hybrid of the Russian and Iranian models. Syria is not firmly in “any camp.” And while Syria is committed to liberating the occupied Syrian Arab Golan, and will liberate it, the zionist entity does not want a war with Syria and Iran, and the opposite is equally true, as it will be extremely costly for all sides involved. This is just my opinion.
“Will the Russian-Iranian-Syrian alliance hold as the Syrian war draws close to an end?”
The war isn’t drawing to an end. As long as the US/Zionists retain ground forces in Syria, there will be safe havens for terrorists. So the TTD list includes:
i) Al Tanf
ii) The ISIS/FSA concentration in Deraa
iii) The Kurd/FSA/ISIS aka SDF concentraion in east Syria
iv) The FSA/ISIS/whatever concentration in Idlib
v) The Zionist terrorist enclaves in the Golan heights.
Things have only just started.
Greetings Saker. This is a little off-topic I know but bearing in mind your recent article about Russian government appointments and the concerns about the strength of the atlantic integrationists I thought you and others might find this very encouraging:
ALEXEI KUDRIN MAKES PROSTRATION SPEECH FOR PARLIAMENT VOTE -– (not my caps)
Quotes –
“The State Duma voted on Tuesday to approve the nomination of Alexei Kudrin as Chairman of the Accounting Chamber, the state auditor and budget watchdog. The vote was 264 in favour; 86 opposed. No presidential nominee for the post has been elected over so much parliamentary opposition”
“Kudrin gave a speech to the deputies ahead of the balloting in which he repudiated the pro-American, anti-military policies he has been advocating for years. Kudrin’s reversal reveals the degree to which the balance of power in Russian politics has changed decisively against the party of capitulation, and in favour of the Stavka, the combined forces of the Defence Ministry, General Staff, the intelligence services, and the military-industrial complex”……….
…….”At the start of this month, the Financial Times acted as Kudrin’s platform to announce his run at taking a newly created job in the government which would be more powerful than Prime Minister Medvedev. In Moscow officials nicknamed that a “vice presidency”. According to the London newspaper, Kudrin was declaring through a spokesman: “If Kudrin joined the administration or government, it would indicate that they have agreed on a certain agenda of change, including in foreign policy, because without change in foreign policy, reforms are simply impossible in Russia. It would be a powerful message, because Kudrin is the only one in the top echelons with whom they will talk in the west and towards whom there is a certain trust.”

Also next time you write about Russia could you say something about the “stavka”, what it is and where it stands in the Russian power hierarchy? Thanks

As far as you know, is this entire press conference with a decent translation available anywhere…. I haven’t been able to find one and as you’re reporting on it I’m hoping you have it to report on.
I’d like to hear what came before and after this to assess context as well as the demeanour of both.
Standing alone as is this one likely has as many interpretations as Putin’s statement that the fall of the USSR was the greatest tragedy of the last century…..
“…Damascus and Tehran will pursue their own objectives for this war, which involves a military solution aimed at liberating the entire country as opposed to Russia’s political process aimed at reconciling different parties to the conflict.”
————–
WT **** Where on earth did you get the idea that “Russia’s political process [is] aimed at reconciling different parties to the conflict?”
Moscow has always stressed (1) eradication of terrorism (2) Syrian sovereignty and (3) Syrian territorial integrity.
If that has changed – please would you be kind enough to provide the link to where Moscow indicates their position on those has changed to “reconciling different parties to the conflict” because I’m not buying it until I get it from the horse’s mouth. Thanx.
UN Resolution 2254.
RF, along with Iran and Turkey endorsed it at the Astana Talks.
Moscow has always stressed (1) eradication of terrorism (2) Syrian sovereignty and (3) Syrian territorial integrity.
Reconciling the different parties is the most important step to achieving (1), (2) and (3)

But how do they plan to push America away from North-Eastern Syria?
A very good piece by Israel Shamir, touching on Russia’s relations with both Israel and Iran:
http://www.unz.com/ishamir/the-messiah-is-here/
fabulous article – thank you so much Aram – makes so much sense – I am definitely with Iran and Syria and Assad –
…and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of (Isra)hell shall not prevail against it. This is a sound policy for all things built. The Russian/Syrian/Iranian alliance is stabilizing the internal structure of Syria. Israel would like nothing better than to male the alliance open another front to weaken it. Russia and Iran fail to rise to the bait. Israel’s time is coming.
The author states that Russia is “not a party to the Israel-Syria/Iran conflict”. If true, then Russia should really have nothing to say about Syrian or Iranian responses to attacks from Israel. However, Russia is described as issuing directives and warnings to the Syrian government on how to respond to such attacks. So it seems to me that Russia is already a party in this conflict whether it wants to be or not.
There is also the interesting statement that Israel perceives Russia as a “guarantor for keeping Iranian forces at bay”. An intriguing viewpoint, but if Israel really regards Russia in this way, what would be the necessity of Israel continuing to launch attacks into Syria? Actually though, as the dominant military power in Syria, I am surprised that the Russian government has not offered to provide a formal security guarantee for Israel. Russian could commit to working with/pressuring the Syrian and Iranian governments to refrain from attacks on Israel or on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. In exchange Israel would agree to cease military attacks on Syria. Russia could offer to station a small observer/peacekeeping force in southern Syria to enforce this.
Of course this would never be agreed to by Israel since it is inconsistent with Israel’s short term and long term strategic goals. Israel remains in an active state of war with both Syria and Lebanon and seeks to expand the Israeli occupied zone in southern Syria. Longer term, Israel seeks the removal of the Assad government, the partition of Syria, and the encouragement of an attack on Iran by the US.
Russia may seek to avoid an escalation of conflict but the question remains as to how Russia should respond to an escalation by Israel regardless of the actions of Syria or Iran. If the answer is that Russia can do nothing, then the long term presence of Russia in Syria may be in doubt.
The mesiah would have to make his return first for Russia to make any desicion to take side. Hmm. No. Don’t get offended. Thank God for what the Russian Federation have done. I was just thinking about the catalytical event for which history to make its turn. And I can only think of one thing. That 1) they according to them, killed the messiah and 2) they boasted that they killed the messiah.
Excellent comment. Russia cannot and will not be indifferent to what’s going on in Syria. Andropov or Putin, there is no difference. Strategic security and stability of Russia first. No problem for Israel. With Iran it’s more complex. Russia will never tolerate a strong and aggressive Islamic Republic in her neighborhood. On the other hand she will do whatever she can to prevent Iran being controlled by a no friendly power.
Author claims that “Iran was not able to alone hold off the jihadists who were receiving massive amounts of financial and military support and would have had to sent the entire Iranian Army into Syria.”
This assessment is quite wrong. Iran without much intervention was able to hold off and drive back the Western backed terrorists. And, it was because of this that U.S. threatened direct intervention. Russia intervened, to hold off the Americans. However, Russian having been deceived via Trump, failed to keep Americans out of Syria.
Russian presence did help stop declaration of no-fly zone by NATO and Americans. But, instead, now they have boots on the ground in Eastern Syria. And, this is because Russia rather than build better relations with Islamic Republic of Iran wasted much time, infatuated with Trump, and heed Zionist henchman’s foul cries.
