You might have heard that “Yats” has made a great recently: according to him during WWII the USSR invaded the Ukraine and Germany. I would expect no less of him. But the truly pathetic part came from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs which declared that it respected Yats’ right to free speech.
Clearly, “Yats is Charlie”.
In other news, the Ukrainian junta has resumed and even dramatically stepped up the shelling of Novorussia. So far, the firing appears to be of the typical terror strikes kind – randomly aimed at the civilian sectors but this could also be a way to probe the Novorussian counter-battery fire capabilities and artillery positions (thanks for the counter-battery radars delivered by the USA to the Nazis).
The most worrisome development, however, is the confirmation by Foreign Minister Lavrov that the Russians have intelligence showing that the Ukrainian junta is preparing for a full scale assault on Novorussia. This would make perfect sense: now that the entire world has its eyes focused on the wonderful show of unity by the world for freedom of speech and against terrorism, it is a prefect time for a bloodbath in Novorussia.
The Saker
Ukie mass attack.
Militia pulls back.
Russian offensive artillery and air destroys the entire battlefield of Ukies.
Crisis ended.
An attack toward Russia is a Russian general’s dream.
Wow Yats just did some WWII Russian holocaust ( 20 million Russian dead) denial and he is not under legal sanction?

I read a purported quote of Yatseniuk supposedly saying that there was
USSR “invasion” of Germany and Ukraine. Was he speaking English?
Somehow, maybe somebody mistranslated what should have been said “occupation” and not “invasion”?
If Yats spoke in Ukrainian, it would be “navala” as “invasion” and
“zaimanshchyna” or “okupatsia” as
“occupation”. Reminds me of similar
commotion about whether he said “subhuman” or “inhuman/inhumane”.
In Ukrainian, “pidliudok/pidliudyna”
would be subhuman the noun, “pidliudskyi/pidliudska/pidliudske”
as “subhuman” the adjective.
The noun “inhuman” would be “neliud”
and the adjective “inhuman” would be
“neliudskyi” and “inhumane” would be
“neliudianyi”. But for pro-Russians who want to portray Ukrainians as “orcs”
they of course will jump at any such
occasion of confusion.
you know what this means of course.IT’S WAR.you can cry for the filthy cartoon freedoms ,but DON’T have an opinion of your own, especially if it diverges from NEWSPEAK.

Worrying indeed, Saker… We’ll see when Ukraine attacks Novorossiya. Let’s hope the russians can arm the Novorussians to the teeth and make sure they survive the next offensive….
Kremlin must to stop the pathetic and schizophrenic Foreign Policy.
Mustto stop to support Junta with free coal, gas, and electricity.
Its sameful Lavrov to march for Charlie when 5 thousands russians murder in Donbass. Its time to retirement mr Lavrov ,your moderate and pasive policy failed.
I don’t see what is wrong with Yats’s statement.
As near as I can tell, Galicia is welcome to be Ukraine, and the rest of so-called Ukraine can then be Novorossiya.
I doubt you’d find many objections east of the Dnipr to restoring the 1939 border of the USSR.
Regarding the attacks on the blog. Why not have the other saker blogs mirror this one? That way it will be available from different countries/jurisdictions.
This may not be the place for this comment, but I do want to express my opprobrium towards the French Saker site for having what appears to be no appetite for courage. To take down the entire site because of the immediacy of emotionality is childish at best and is pure unalloyed cowardice.
Sake, i am sorry to know that the hysterical lies of the MSM has got to some of your team in the other saker’s website. It is a pity that intelligent people surrender their common sense to unhealthy, histerical non sensical emotions.
But really westerners just manage to make fool of themselves outside the west, which only is about 17% of the world population. People in all other corners of the World, just watch and scratch their heads, seeing the biases and childlish behaviour of westerners, going against one shamefull terrorist attack but ignoring all other shamefull terrorist acts around the World.
Indeed life has different value, depending where one is borne in this World.
anyway, here comes a good article to read about it.
http://sputniknews.com/columnists/20150112/1016795879.html
Yatsenyuk was interviewed on the main news broadcast of the ARD (first german tv station).
He spoke ukrainian and the german translator used the strange word
“Anmarsch” which means a march towards s.th.
And for me Yats is an ork, paid by Obama, Soros and Merkel.
Saker, I was shocked at what happened to your sites, but I do have to say that I felt over the last few weeks a number of posts that i did not agree with. Your take on Je ne suis pas Charlie’ and the convoluted defense of Islam in its punishment tactics against satire, is in itself a real reason for me to ‘unhook’ from your site.
You make good points about Yats, and about some of the wrong turns, and your coverage of the Ukraine debacle is commendable. There is a slant that allows too much room to be called Russophile/Slavophile – and it disqualifies your site significantly. Sorry to see that, because you do bring a necessary message to the world stage.
Islam, however, is a problem, in that it has not developed extensive theological discourse or allowed its holy book to be re-interpreted, along with some of its contents to be openly discounted. In an internationally scrutinized and open world, this will probably lead to much more fierce struggles, with most of the thinking switching not to a liberal Islam, but to agnosticism. A welcome change, but one that will come through huge sacrifice as it is a behemoth that is in its death throes for nte next fifty years.
Yats is a ridiculous political zombie in an ill-fitting hipster suit. Listen and watch his acting skills on display as he tries to look and sound, ‘official’ in front of the camera.
This clown is as qualified to be PM as Obomba is to be president.
He’s apparently stupid enough to say anything to please his masters just like the US prez.
Out of all the good commentary about the Paris false flag, the best I saw was “Je Suis Gladio”
Second prize goes to the person who said the pre-arranged slogan could be translated as “I am a silly person.” I will forever think of the translation as being this.
Saker, I have the sense you are very strong right now. I hope so. So glad you still have a blog. I’m sorry you lost some things, but to my eyes this doesn’t appear so much as the loss of things as the standing tall of the strong spine on which all things were able to depend. Kind of like the Russian soul, somehow strongest when standing alone.
May blessings be bestowed on you and yours and your work.
Commenter above: …I do want to express my opprobrium towards the French Saker site for having what appears to be no appetite for courage. To take down the entire site because of the immediacy of emotionality is childish at best and is pure unalloyed cowardice.
It may be only a limited number involved, even one, with fingers knowing the right plugs to pull. One shouldn’t declaim the entire team there, and in any case others will arise soon enough to carry the banner.
It’s also useful at times like this that people are forced to confront the inconsistencies and contradictions in the positions they take, over, for example, ,who the true enemies are. If there’s a little upset now and then among the supporter ranks, that may be a small price to pay.

The thing is, the Saker’s Vineyard is what it is. It doesn’t pretend to be anything other. What it is primarily, is incisive analysis by one person who is prepared to add his voice against the enormous propaganda machine of the West. As one of relatively few independent voices doing this, it offers hope and encouragement to those resisting or fearing brainwashing. The Vineyard has drawn and continues to draw growing audiences of : but the flip side of this is… the louder and more percipient the source, the more attention it draws from hostile forces. Perhaps it is for the best that followers and supporters have their constancy challenged from time to time by the Saker’s hard truths and string opinions. If that results in some weeding out of the less staunch (and more so, of the more subversive elements) from time to time, so be it.

Anybody believe in re-incarnation? Well I don’t, but if it was himmler, I’d know who he would be today, and where.
About resumed fighting in Donbass and a new campaign of Naze terror, both Lavrov and Zakharchenko have inssued statements. The situation looks extremely scary. There are more details of Zakharchenko’s warnings at
http://quemadoinstitute.wordpress.com/2015/01/11/novorossiya-rolling-analysis-january-5-11/
I don’t want to say Novorossiya is threatened, but the circumstances appear catastrophic. My hope is that all of Ukraine will rise up against Kiev, if I dare to say so.
I’m also worried about the fact that the Vineyard of the Saker website has been compromised. Who are these people who did this? Infiltrators??
Thanks Saker for giving us courage.
Saker, your international blog was especially dangerous to the oliporks at this time. No offsetting morsel of objectivity could be permitted to compromise their festival of banality.
It was the sort of festival which makes an accidental onlooker feel shame at belonging to the same species. I went out to see my chickens’ antics just to feel clean again.
I congratulate you for being on the right side of our struggle.

Yats has a “right” to free speech, yes. And that the German Government did not use THEIR right to free speech to condemn him, shows they agree with him.Well it really isn’t a great loss in fact.Since we all knew it anyway. The only ones seeming to doubt it was the Russian Government.Hopefully this will wake them up.
As Alexander III said, “Russia’s only allies are its army and navy”.Its time to get those allies on the job.The choices are the same ones they were at the beginning. And they will be the same at the end.Either Russia must kneel to the West or she fights back for her existence.Destroy the fascists in Ukraine and the crisis ends, plain and simple.NATO is not going to risk annihilation going nuke to nuke with Russia. That’s just the facts. They will try everything else instead.Cold War,internal sabotage using the 5th column, fighting to the last Ukrainian. Those are NATO’s weapons against Russia, and they will and are using them.Russia’s weapons are the same as at the beginning. Her army, her navy, the Russian population, and intelligent people around the World. She needs to use those weapons. If there is no more junta for the West to use, there is no more crisis. The attacks on Russia won’t cease. But they weren’t going to anyway. But the crisis situation is over if the junta is gone. Then Russia only has to worry about the normal attacks. Not some maniacal bloodthirsty fascists on her doorstep ,daily murdering Russian supporters in Ukraine.Je suis Vanya.

I imagine the US has improved its counter battery radar from its introduction in VN, but it has a flaw the Liberation Forces exploited continuously. Turns out that you can fool it into firing on its own positions by sneaking up and firing some mortar rounds toward it from close to the US positions. I lived between two major US 1st Division artillery bases. Every few weeks the NLF would induce them to shell each other. I would hear the shells whistling over my house and in the morning go look at the damage the 155s had done. Only ever one salvo before they pulled the plug, but six 155 HE shells made a big impression, killed lots of US troops, victims of “Stupid Fire” (as opposed to “friendly Fire.”

I don’t know if the Paris attacks were a false flag or not.Only those involved can be sure. But I do know they have set off a firestorm of hypocrisy across the West that makes me want to gag.
The very people that use terrorists and terrorism to further their policies in the World are now crying crocodile tears over the deaths of 17 people in Paris. They are silent over the thousands, even hundreds of thousands, killed by their actions all over the World. But find the tears for those 17.
A little boy of 7 (Vanya) is laying horribly mutilated and near death in a hospital in Novorossia. While his littler 5 year old brother is dead from shells fired at them by Ukrainian fascist troops.Fired by the troops of the hyena Poroshenko who was marching with those other murderous Western leaders yesterday in Paris.Crying over the attack in Paris.I am not Charlie either,Je suis Vanya.

Yat’s ‘subhuman’ reference appeared on the Ukrainian embassy website before being edited to read ‘inhuman’. Are you trying to say the Ukraine embassy can’t translate Ukrainian? Best laugh I’ve had all day, but then I do find Russophobic trolls highly amusing!!

What a crock!
The latest statements by Yatsenyuk are not accidental. Global politics can be simplified using one yardstick. That yardstick is one’s attitude to WWII.
There are basically two kinds of people on the planet. Those who are happy that the USSR defeated European fascism in the early forties, and those who regret the fact, either silently (like many right wing Europeans do) or openly such as Yatsenyuk and the west Ukraine Nazis.
The reaction of the Germans to the statements made by Yatsenyuk is characteristic of their complete degeneration.
The Germans, as well as the rest of the European trash are wholly deserving of what is coming to them.
As far the upcoming ukie attack against Novorussia. If they do in fact find the courage to go ahead with their nasty plans, they will again be defeated. But their American masters are so desperate to cause some kind of short term problems for Russia that they are willing to do anything to achieve that goal.
In other news, the long awaited and inevitable collapse of the US shale oil boom has finally begun. I would not be surprised if within the next 18 months, US shale production is almost completely wiped out.
In other, other news, the stupid EU wants to clarify the South Stream project with Russia. The inane eurocrats think that Russia is willing to reconsider and abide by the third energy package.
It’s simply beyond belief how deluded and stupid the European politicians really are.
All support to the NAF!
All support to Novorossia!

A strong tree grows tall and straight. Any branches which grow in a way to distort the balance of the tree will wither, die and then drop off. The tree continues to grow tall, true and strong. Such is the quality of Saker’s site.
Saker, I am still looking for a video where Yatsenyuk makes those statements. The article that you link to does not provide such links.
What we see in Ukraine reminds me of Yugoslavia. There the US bullied Milosevic to stop supporting the Croatian Serbs while it simultaneously help Croatia to build up its army. The simultaneous peace talks proved just a diversion of the attention and in the end they had the Croats attack. Now the same trick is tried in Ukraine.
By Uncle Bob: “The very people that use terrorists and terrorism to further their policies in the World are now crying crocodile tears over the deaths of 17 people in Paris. They are silent over the thousands, even hundreds of thousands, killed by their actions all over the World. But find the tears for those 17.”
It’s not really Crocodile tears, more like; tears of joy. To them everything is going according to plan either way: it’s a win-win.
From ‘their’ perspective it’ll still lead to the same outcome, now, wouldn’t it?
If these moronic idiots [the “terrists”] were useful retards acting on their own, or not – they were sleeping-cells trained by Western ‘alphabet agencies’ for the purposes of carrying out false-flags operations in Western home soil – at the end of the day: the end-result it’s still the freakin’ same: let’s give Muslims in the West special kiddy-glove treatment & protections (strengthening political correctness, weakening free speech across the board, while simultaneously giving the best excuse there is for NSA-type surveillance), while ‘their’ foreign policy of bombing Muslims to oblivion in their own homelands, not only remains unchallenged, but it gets a boost.
I for one, fully expect a call for ‘boots on the ground’ type-escalation in Iraq or Syria (or both) at any moment now, coming mostly from European leaders. Top of that list are: France and UK.
Until solid evidence comes our way, it’s a bit premature for us to claim this was an inside false-flag type-job (Seriously! It’s getting embarrassing at this point, so just quit it already!).
At some point we all have come to terms with the fact that the Hegemon usual plan of “divide and conquer” is creating a bunch of willing idiots that do ‘their’ bidding spontaneously. That’s how divide and conquer works FFS! *eye-roll*

Wow, so your French web hosts are so devoted to the idea of free speech that they shut you down because they thought you guilty of not being fully committed to free speech. So what they have said is “If you don’t believe in ‘free speech’ my way, I’ll shut you up”. What an amazing devotion to the idea of free speech! Reminds us of ruining countries to save them.
On another note: when 40 world leaders get together at a moments’ notice, we are entitled to seriously suspect that there is more here than meets the eye. Something is going on and some game is being set up.
On yet another note: And what has given the Russian leaders a sudden itch to again try to toady up to the west? Is putin planning to run for the French presidency? He definitely cares much more for a few French lives than for the thousands of lives in Donbass.
A question: now that an open season has been declared on the moslem world, what lies ahead? Some new grand initiative to civilize the middle east? How about bombing them back into the pre-Islamic age? At least that could make a good cartoon, no? And must we then clap our hands in delight and sing an ode of joy to the idea of free speech, lest we be found wanting in our devotion to this wonderful idea.
A thought: Russia’s worst enemy is Russia. If you don’t follow what I mean, go and read the RT website. Its sycophancy is guaranteed to make some of us puke.
The site http://lesmoutonsenrages.fr worried not be able to access your French site.
Many of your article were relayed because we looked very in France.
You have our sympathy, real, not a sympathetic politicians. Hoping and waiting to read you and convey you again.

May I make a suggestion to everybody? Saker, will you back this up please? I am in contact through vk.com (the Russian version of Facebook) with Eastern Ukrainians in Donbas, and even though I can’t read, write or speak Russian, I can still converse quite well in English with them. Some can speak/read/write English or use translators, and so they can be encouraged and supported.
I am losing my patience with Russia
They give Ukraine free coal, i never Heard if Ukraine paid the 1.65 billin n promised in Dec. for gas debt. Now that the debt ratio has gone way past 60%, Russia could but hasnt demanded immediate payment of 3 billion more on the bond
Yet Ukraine breaks the ceasefire with civilian terror bombing. Will Putin ever yank on the leash?
Innocents are dying while Putin plays nice with Kiev
It’s beyond lame
Words may lie but pictures seldom do. Unless they are photo shopped; a skill the ukies and their western enablers are expert at.
Have you taken a good look at those taken in Odessa? Those taken at any of a number of your outdoor torture and murder pits? Finally, take a good look at yats and then tell me what that perfectly good a!#€£^/e called his face informs you. Looks to me there are more than a few short circuits.
This late demonstration of the Parisians headed by the 40 crooks of the Western Empire reflect once again the hypocritical ethnocentrism of Europe, USA and Israel. Already in the 16th century they killed millions of Indoamericans, for their hearts pleaded for the single remedy that the Spaniard Conquerors claimed that would cure them: THE GOLD THEY PILLAGED FROM THE AZTEC AND INCA EMPIRES. With those riches the Industrial Revolution was financed. The genocide moved a Spaniard priest, Fray Bartolome de las Casas, to pleadvin defense of the Indoamericans, that they indeed had a soul. So, to replace their labour in the mines and fields, the Africans were introduced as slaves, since they were deemed soul-less creatures. It looks all so familiar. The claimed multuculturalism of Europe is no more than a veneer of humanism, which Donbass reveals for what it is.
To the saker community, Anunnaki in particular:
A wise man chooses his battles.
Up to 50,000 dead in Libya, up to 150,000 dead in Syria, more each day in dozens of places with even more attempts to get Armenians and Azeri people to go to war…
Yes people suffer in Novorussia, it is tragic, but it is one battle in a much bigger war/confrontation. Please keep in mind the bigger war is to prevent a collapsing empire from going rogue and destroying hundreds of millions if not billions of lives. Putin has to choose his battles wisely. Sometimes that means giving, bending and twisting so that you can use the greater energy and size of your opponent against him. Will people die? yes. Is it tragic – profoundly! But do not lose sight of why these things happen.
I watched a man in Lebanon mourn as he sat in the shattered rubble of what was once his home, a home in which his wife and three children had died under Israeli bombing a few days earlier. As he wept and grieved, he lifted his hands and declared his faith in God and in Nasrallah – the man whose choice to confront Israel led to the war – led to the death of his children.
All over the world people have known the cost of either being slaves to the empire OR the cost of standing up to it.
Should the current empire collapse violently, hundreds of millions will die. Should it be helped to fall softly – there still will be many who suffer, but nothing like the horror of the larger catastrophe.
If Putin is seen to be catching and propping up the old empire at times, it is because the whole world needs (and should be praying for ) a soft landing.
To the Saker community:
Strange things are happening. Russia and Iran posted record oil production for December.
If the current crisis in the oil price is so bad for Russia, why would they and Iran push to set a record high rate of production?
Could it be that together they are working so that China can buy all it needs for a strategic reserve at super discounted prices? Could it be that Russian oil is not as vulnerable as the media would have us believe?
Russian oil production costs are only slightly above that of Saudia Arabia. Iranian oil is more expensive to produce than Russian. One of the advantages of not being on the cutting edge is that they had not yet developed high cost oil. So the crash in prices only means that Russian companies make lower profits – while US fracking production goes broke.
It seems that Russian and Iran are trying to speed up the process, make the pain worse (so to speak) while China hauls away the cheap surplus in those 18 super-tankers they built a year or two ago, which in turn allows China to back up the Russian budget when it is needed.
This is an economic battle that is every bit as strategic as a major invasion.
‘Je Suis Gladio’……that is very funny. Now, that’s satire.
Josh Vanhee, “Saker, I was shocked at what happened to your sites, but I do have to say that I felt over the last few weeks a number of posts that i did not agree with. Your take on Je ne suis pas Charlie’ and the convolut”

To all the complainers about what this site does or does not do or the ones not approving of Putin should get a life. Try running as many blogs as Saker has attempted or try doing a better job than Putin. Love to see you try. There is so much wrong in this world and this is no time to get picky or high and mighty. Put your money where your mouth is or just shut your hole. Try having Harper as your representative. What a fool.
Saker I am sorry about the emotional admin who could not handle the truth.
Many people who wake up from their dream to find their life is a nightmare have a hard time dealing with the real world.
Your a good man Saker and don’t let the bastards grind you down. There are still some white male westerners who depend on your attempt to see the real world for what it is. Others have eyes but cannot see, they have ears but cannot listen. Keep the faith buddy.
What faith I could care less. The point is you have and keep it. Truth will always last the test of time.
You are doing a great job.
Saker, you’re doing a great job but I think you’re needlessly diverting your energies with the Saker websites in other countries/regions. The only other one I could possibly see the logic of is a Spanish one. If any Europeans are interested, they’ll come here. If they like an article, they’ll translate it on their own blogs and cite this website. I suggest you focus on this blog and not tire yourself pointlessly.
@Stavros H
Yes, painting the whole population of a country, or a region, with the same brush has always been the solution to everything. Condemning them has always worked so well too. Or has it? This was an interview, which was pre-recorded and then edited. Can you perhaps see the value allowing Yatsenyuk his statements so that the listener can form their own opinion of this man? Had they cut the comment, the world would never have learned what he had said it. Wouldn’t you agree? And without that comment there’d be no discussion (not just here). And without that comment the German gov would not be painted in a corner, because they are now in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation. Therefore they chose not to say anything. Which also tells people a lot, doesn’t it? So the comment has been made and it is out there. And it can be brought up again at every opportune moment that may present itself from here on forward… A few more of those, and people may actually start to believe that not all is what it seems in the Ukraine. So I welcome moments like these. I hope he brings on more of them. Many more. How many have already been left on the cutting room floor? Ever thought about that?

Russia did not provide free coal. Ukraine threatened to cut off power to Crimea. And actually did on several occasions, and right before the holidays too. Since there is currently no alternative solution for power to Crimea, Russia did what it needed to do in order to keep its people with power. Seek fault with Ukraine. Not with Russia!
Really not your patience to lose anyways, or is it? If you are that impatient, get up and go to the Donbass and do something meaningful!

facebook-truth about Ukraine, I recommend newcoldwar website too.
I thought I read Putin said publicly that Russia would defend Donbass from further military assaults by the Ukies. Is this not correct? Also, I am curious about the news in the West regarding Russia’s currently “crippled” economic condition. How seriously is this to be taken? Is it all an effort to convey to the Western public that we are “winning” against Russia?
I think it is inevitable that there would be some dissension in the Saker community – as naturally arises in any community. That they would erase the blog/blogs is unsettling.
I have to admit there are things about Islam – such as the horrifying misogyny that characterizes many of these cultures – that make it difficult to like – and yet it is inescapable that we are the true purveyors of terror and they are our victims. Since long before 9/11 the Western elite have worked to incite their violence and to paint them as world enemy. Decades ago they were becoming more modernized until the West intervened and put a stop to it. (Soviet meddling in Afghanistan no doubt also played a role in this.) Thriving, just, democratic Islamic societies are not what the world planners have on their agenda – quite the opposite, in fact. Without our incessant meddling and violence Middle Eastern countries (and many others) might be very different today.
Les said “Russia and Iran posted record oil production for December.”
It looks like they try to keep up the level of their oil income in the face of falling prices. But of course that puts yet more pressure on the prices.
Looking for video links of Yatsenyuk’s statement I found this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lng1FFJesYU
It is a 16 second long fragment with Yatsenyuk’s statement “nachsynchronisiert” in german with English subtitles.
Here is the long version – but with a voice-over in Russian (the invasion fragment is at 1:15):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIye7zokGD8
The interview was with Pinar Atalay on the Tagesthemen news on the ARD channel. The relevant text is:
Was können Sie verändern? Nochmal zu der Frage: Frau Merkel erwartet da was von Ihnen?”
Note that the word used by Yatsenyuk is “Anmarsch” (march) and not invasion.
Yet another Youtube link. This one in Russian with German subtitles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CRcva2A7R8#t=108

RI:Saudi billionaire businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal “But I’ll tell you Saudi Arabia and Russia are in bed together here. And both are being hurt simultaneously. And there’s no political conspiracy whatsoever against Russia. Because we are shooting ourselves in the foot if we do that.
My foundation is in communication with the presidential palace in France and the French government, to see what we can do to … (support) these families and these victims, innocent victims that were under attack. And then we have to show that Islam really is united with Christianity, and Judaism, and other religions in the world to limit this disease from from Earth. Now the whole world — Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists — have to come together and be united, and be sure to eliminate those minority of the Muslim community. Those that hijacked our religion and try to eliminate them not only militarily. ”
Saker, maybe has funding for you available? Can also work with the other islamic leader you were going to collaborate with?
Foreign explorers that are key to Ukraine’s future energy independence are fleeing the nation as a war against pro-Moscow insurgents in eastern regions sends the economy into freefall. Even government measures aimed at shrinking consumption of Russian gas have helped drive some international companies away.
Signs of change?
RI:The U.S. won’t accept losing Azerbaijan considering that neighboring Armenia has now officially become a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), cementing its ties with Moscow.
After all attempts to impede Armenia’s accession to Russia-led trade bloc have failed, Washington is apparently no longer interested in “advancing democratic values, practices and institutions” in Armenia and decided to shut down the local office of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) citing “financial problems,” -lame excuse?
A grandiose scandal broke out within the ranks of the Ukrainian Army: its battalion commanders literally spat in the face of the President of Ukraine.
The scandal broke out around the “new equipment” that was transferred with such fanfare by Poroshenko to the armed forces. Ukrainian press published information that battalion commanders refused to sign documents accepting the transfer of the tanks -poor repairs

@ J Banshee:
´Islam, however, is a problem, in that it has not developed extensive theological discourse or allowed its holy book to be re-interpreted, along with some of its contents to be openly discounted.´
Not true at all! My sister is married to a Guinease man, and converted to the Sufi (Marabut) African Islam, also practiced in Mali. Although takfiris attempt to penetrate everywhere in the dar-Islam (Moslem countries and regions), there are many traditional forms of Islam with many exegeses.
About openly discounting: this is a naive post modern western approach: do you expect the Saker to ´openly discount´ sections of the Bible?
Every verse or sura has its place: it can be literally, symbolic or not yet comprehensible (Saker, if I´m wrong about this, correct me please, because I´m not a believer, but try to respect peoples ways to truth).

A totally different subject: If it is true that Kiev will start an offensive, with some NATO countries having delivered new weapons. In the news, some radar and anti tank weapons are mentioned. If you have time, can you describe their importance? (seems to me easily to be taken out by triangulation and a grad); but perhaps it is better to capture the thing.
Actually I mean the whole military configuration of the 2 sides, and would also like to know the diplomatic meaning of ´catastrophic´ by minister Lavrov. (+ the possible reaction/ interpretation of Kiev and NATO).
Would be worth an article after all the turmoil, I would think…
Godspeed, mr Saker!

Duty-free trade between Ukraine and EU turned out to be simply a “nice fairy tale with a sad ending”, said the leader of the “Ukrainian Choice” movement Viktor Medvedchuk.
The Verkhovna Rada supported the Cabinet of Minister’s initiative and introduced import duties. A week later Kiev decided to carry out immediate consultations with the European Commission to convince the Eurocommissars that the import duties, even though they violate the letter of the triumphantly signed Association Agreement, are a matter of life and death for Ukraine,” Medvedchuk wrote on his Facebook page.
“Here’s what’s striking: the government did not even attempt to discuss this innovation of duty-free trade with the people, which were after all promised by the Maidan leaders that Ukrainians would see high-quality European goods at affordable prices. Duty-free trade simply turned out to be a pretty fairy tale…with a sad ending,” – writes Medvedchuk. Pidgeons roosting.

The French Defense Ministry is currently not ready to comment on Russia’s inquiry about why two Mistral helicopter carriers have not yet been delivered to Russia, a source at the ministry told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

Zaharchenko commented yesterday’s shelling of cities DNR.
1. The rotation at the airport will not be held, will not be given to the wounded. Fed Up.
2. Zaharchenko tired negotiations and consultations with the junta. In the negotiations does not make sense, because Ukraine does not comply with the agreement.
3. The offensive is not planned, but will any opportunities and ways to destroy the Ukrainian occupation troops who fired at the territory of the DNI.
4. Soldiers junta offers back from the front in his Kiev, and deal with Poroshenko and other foreign invaders of Ukraine.
Labour politician Ahmed Aboutaleb, a former journalist who became the first immigrant mayor in the Netherlands in 2008, is known for his no-nonsense stance on integration. Speaking on live television, Mayor Aboutaleb said Dutch Muslims who turn against freedom can ‘f*** off’ and added: ‘Vanish from the Netherlands if you cannot find your place here’. London Mayor Boris Johnson hailed Mayor Aboutaleb as his ‘hero’ and ‘straight to the point’.

Saker: I am appalled that your new site was taken down. In an ironic twist; now you might appreciate a bit more why freedom of speech is so important. I was one of the few that didn’t agree with your ‘I’m NOT Charlie’ entry, but I would defend your right to say whatever you, and anybody else want to say, irrespectively; if I disagree with the premise or not, or if it causes offence or not.
Taking the site down (by whoever was responsible for it) was petty and immature, to say the least. Most of all, I feel for the volunteers that worked so hard to get the site up and running – it was looking great and very professionally made. Such a shame; all that hard work gone to waste.

rewriting history and the distortion of language:
Peter Lavelle did one of his “ain’t it awful” type shows on Crosstalk about the corruption of the media. It was OK. but he needs to invite the editor of Russia Insider and some semantic professors to discuss how a parallel narrative is being constructed. and what this means. It involves how sentences are put together and which adjectives are chosen and most important what is left out in a story ( never mind what may well be flagrantly made up) so that not only is the parallel story different but how it is told is different. Very soon people can be told another story about another event and they will automatically begin to construct it almost unprompted.
example
Two policemen were killed by an AfroAmerican and blame was cast on those who demonstrated ( peacefully by the way)against police violence the previous week as being the direct cause of this. My neighbor repeated this to me.
Learn to Avoid the narrative and the counter narrative: I just said that the man had shot his girlfriend just before he did the cop killing and afterward ran into a subway station and killed himself. Insane people sometime dress up as cartoon characters and walk into movie theaters and use whatever excuse to kill people because they are crazy. My neighbor just stared at me and babbled..”.but, but..don’t you think???” “No,” I said and changed the subject.
Keep a cool heart and a heart of fire–this is going to be a long slog.
Jonathan Jarvis: about Kristina whom you mentioned (with Kira her daughter): it’s unlikely to go viral. I tried to get the six main British newspapers in August to publish an article on her, not only did they not do so, none had the manners to give me the courtesy of a reply. Yesterday, I made an online comment and a comparison about Kristina, as she was one of 17 civilians murdered on Sunday 27/7/14 in Gorlovka, with the Paris march on Sunday, and it was DELIBERATELY not published. I had commented about the attack on Gorlovka/Horlivka on Sunday Jan 11, and this too was NOT published.
The point is, the major newspapers KNOW what is going on, but DELIBERATELY censor newsworthy items like this, because they are really a bunch of SH!TS working for and on behalf of the NWO, there is NO doubt about that.
If the MSM responded in the way they did to the Paris march, they could get all the wars in Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Libya, etc stopped within a week.
