How dare you!
You have no permission to get sick.
Only for a speedy recovery!
On a musical theme, here’s a song I recorded with a friend a few years ago that might resonate, based on the Robert William Service’s poem ‘The Men Who Don’t Fit In’ (1917).
@Saker:
Get well soon :)
Get well soon! Here is a happy picture of Russian/Ukrainian friendship to cheer you up.

However, the much anticipated rapprochement between the two nations was largely upstaged by regional leaders’ near uniform rejection of President Obama’s March 9 Executive Order labeling Venezuela a “national security threat”, which has been condemned by all 33 nations of the CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) and other regional bodies.
Saker, I hope you recover soon, take care.

First of all, get well soon. Take loads of immunity-enhancing vitamins, fruit and veggies. A garlic clove crushed in a tablespoon of honey can help a lot, too.
I too have loved Philip Catherine for decades, among a bunch of other equally great guitar players. He has mellowed and improved like a good French wine with the passing decades. I suppose you have heard of Biréli Lagrène? In this video, he and Philip play together: Philip Catherine, Biréli Lagrène, Aladar Pege – Leverkusener Jazztage 1993. Enjoy!
When I was living in Pakistan in 1972, I spent a lot of time with the Sufis there (a very large swath of the population is Sufi). I found that the “flavour” and the mysticism of Sufism reminded me much of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The greatest female Sufi singer in Pakistan is Abeeda Parvin. She sings devotional songs whose lyrics are poems by Sufi masters of yore. Here is one of them for you, Saker. I hope you will like it as much as I do. I love everything she does.
Poetry: Sultan Bahu (c.1628-1691), Bulleh Shah (1680-c.1758), Seemab Akbarabadi (1882–1951) and others

@I found that the “flavour” and the mysticism of Sufism reminded me much of the Russian Orthodox Church.
It does. Sufism started when Islam made direct contact with Eastern Christianity in the 8th century from which it inherited therefore motivation and principles. But let us not be carried away by superficial similitudes (prayer of the heart, love, mystical poetry). It is very likely that the Sufis were initially crypto-Christians, absconding from the Muslim “tolerance” in various secret confreries of charismatic wonder-workers, magicians, fakirs that the East never lacked. But somehow they were “turned around” by the Islamic establishment becoming the “knights” of Islam, sort of samurai. Fanatical dervish warriors were the special forces of every Islamic army from the 13th century through the end of the 19th and were the perpetrators of numerous appalling massacres.
The current “ecumenical” tendency to somehow equate Sufism with Christianity (and especially with Orthodoxy) should be decidedly rejected.
@WizOz – Sufism antedates Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism and Christianity. It called itself various different names in different epochs and involved itself in and influenced all those religions and others. Here is a very good book I strongly recommend on this subject: The People of the Secret with a very long introduction by the great and late Colin Wilson – it will give you a far better understanding of Sufism in place of your rather squewered interpretation thereof.
Vierotchka, thank you a second time for another important link. I didn’t know about this book, although I’ve done significant studies of Gnosticism, especially related to the Cathars. There’s just so much out there, one can’t possibly know about it all.
One thing these traditions all share is a quest for perfection of the “self” — not the little ego self, but what sometimes is referred to as the “Higher Self,” the true essence of one’s being. In alchemy, the process was likened to turning base metal into gold. It looks like your book goes into this. I found a PDF of the first 50 pages, including Wilson’s introduction and the table of contents. I will read it as soon as I get a block of quiet time.
http://sufismo.com/DOC/People_of_the_Secret_pg.1-50.pdf
Incidentally, from what I read about Wilson, it sounds like he was a kindred submarine. :-)
Dear Vierotchka,
I was talking about the relations between Orthodoxy and Sufism as a component of Islam as we know them today and about the attempts to dilute Orthodoxy by subordinating it to the rather nebulous Gnose. It means to choose tinsel instead of gold. It is more troubling when you actually throw away the gold which you already possess for tinsel.
By “fanatical dervish warriors” I think you are referring to the Hashashins – who were not Sufis at all. From Wikipedia:
The Assassins (from Persian: حشیشیان Arabic: حشّاشين Ḥashshāshīn[1]) is the name used to refer to the medieval Nizari Ismailis, particularly those of Persia and Syria, by Westerners. Often characterized as a secret order of Assassins led by a mysterious “Old Man of the Mountain,” the Nizari Ismailis were an Islamic sect that formed in the late 11th century from a split within Ismailism, itself a branch of Shia Islam. In time, the Nizaris began to pose a military threat to Sunni Seljuq authority within the Persian territories by capturing and inhabiting several mountain fortresses under the leadership of Hassan-i Sabbah, who is typically regarded as the founder of the Assassins. While “Assassins” typically refers to the entire medieval Nizari sect, in fact only a class of acolytes known as the fidai actually engaged in assassination work. Lacking their own army, the Nizari relied on these trained warriors to carry out espionage and assassinations. The Nizari were feared by the Crusaders, who referred to them collectively as Assassins. The Crusader stories of the Assassins were further embellished by Marco Polo. 19th-century European orientalist historians such as Joseph von Hammer-Purgstall also referred to the Nizari collectively as Assassins and tended to write works about them based on biased accounts by medieval Sunni Arab authors, which they often took at face value.
The name “Assassin” is often said to derive from the Arabic word Hashishin or “users of hashish”,[2] a misnomer thought to have been derogatory and used by their adversaries during the Middle Ages. Originally applied to the Nizari Ismaelis by the Mustali Ismailis during the fall of the decaying Ismaili Fatimid Empire and the separation of the two streams,[3] it is possible that the term hashishiyya or hashishi in Muslim sources was used metaphorically in its abusive sense (i.e. “social outcasts”, “low-class rabble”, etc.), while the literal interpretation of this term in referring to the Nizaris (as hashish consuming intoxicated assassins) may be rooted in the fantasies of medieval Westerners.[4]
Long after their near-eradication at the hands of the Mongol Empire, mentions of Assassins were preserved within European sources such as the writings of Marco Polo, where they are depicted as trained killers, responsible for the systematic elimination of opposing figures. Ever since, the word “assassin” has been used to describe a hired or professional killer, paving the way for the related term “assassination”, which denotes any action involving murder of a high-profile target for political reasons.
(more at the above link)
“More often than not, the term “Sufi” invokes images of twirling Dervishes lost in ecstasy, strange people who engage in exotic practices that seem antithetical to Islamic legal traditions, or apolitical mystics fixated in meditation.
In addition to the misconception that Sufism is inherently heterodox, perhaps the greatest misconception is that it is passive and apathetic towards Jihad. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth.
The second greatest misconception that people, including non-Muslims, have of Sufism is that it is flaccid in participating in issues pertaining to social justice and engaging in Jihad. History is a testament that not only is Sufism not opposed to Jihad, but rather, Sufis have been amongst the foremost leaders of Jihad. Even the early Sufis were known for their fervent desire for engaging Jihad and seeking martyrdom. For example,
Ibrahim ibn Adham (d. 778), was an early Sufi ascetic who was born into a life luxury which he abandoned in order to study the Sacred Sciences and later fought in jihad against the Byzantines.19 In fact, the very roots of the Sufi zawiya, a type of lodge, has its roots in the ribat. The ribat is a type of fortress that was often built along the ever expanding Islamic frontier. At these fortresses, Sufi shuyookh adapted their teachings of
outward jihad in order to teach their disciples the science of inner jihad…
The famous Imam Shamil al-Dagestani then became the Amir of the jihad and fought the Russians for twenty-seven consecutive years.24 Interestingly enough, Imam Shamil met Sheikh Abd al- Qadir al-Jaza’iri, another Sufi who was fighting over 3,000 miles away, in 1828 while on Hajj where they exchanged information about guerilla warfare.25 After his surrender, rebellions were carried on by the murids of the Qadiri order. In 1864, the Russians killed over 4,000 Qadiri murids alone along with many other innocent civilians.”
(Sufi Mujahideen, by Khuram Zaman@http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/showthread.php?61967-Famous-Sufi-Warriors).
“In 1827, Russian Army General I. F. Paskevitch liberated Yerevan (the capital of Armenia). Exactly at that period Russian interests came to interference with the interests of Mountain peoples, exactly at that period Jihad and so-called “national liberation movements against Russian Tsarists oppressors” started.
Actually, Russians were not interested in Mountain people in themselves. Russians were concerned about safety of military supply to the fighting Army. However, Mountain people were hired by the Iran, Turkey and later by Britain to attack Russians convoys. And, beside this, Mountain people had more sound reason to hate Russians. Foreign trade of Mountain people was primarily the slave trade. This business for its profitability in our time is parallel only to financial profiteering and oil export. Selling of the castrated Georgians boys to the Turkish harems was particularly profitable. (After joining Russia in 19th century, Georgian population increased four times.) Of interest is that in the time of the liberal reforms in 20th century Russia, this noble ancient business was restored with traditional Jewish mediation and with full support of human right activists in the rebellious Chechnya.”
“Historically Chechens are relatively large and one of the most savage tribes in North Caucasus….during all their history Chechens demonstrated one political dominant – they consistently support those who allowed them to kill, to rob and to enslave their neighbours.” (forget about Moscow Theater and Beslan, there were women Sufis).
Ah, and something about the Hashishins:
“The Hashishins combined both the exoteric (communicated, “God’s Law”) and esoteric (subjective, mystical) doctrines of Islam. Sabbah was a noted alchemist, and a student of Sufism, so part of the initiatic curriculum for the future Hashishins involved mastering occult methods for reaching higher planes of consciousness. Of course, they were also taught how to properly kill a man using poison or a dagger. Initiates were trained to learn multiple languages, as well as the dress and manners of merchants, monks and soldiers. Moreover, they were taught to fake beliefs and devotion to every major religion of that era. In this way, an Assassin could pretend to be anyone from a well-to-do merchant to a Sufi mystic, a Christian, or a common soldier.”
I have never heard pure spirit coming out of someone’s mouth.
I listened to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan years ago, but this is different. I don’t know how it’s possible I didn’t know who this woman was.
Thanks for the link, Vierotchka.
Saker, I hope you feel better fast.
Report documents carnage of US drone war in Yemen
By Niles Williamson
17 April 2015
A report released this week by the Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI), titled “Death by Drone: Civilian Harm Caused by U.S. Targeted Killings in Yemen,” documents the deadly carnage inflicted by Hellfire missile strikes in US President Barack Obama’s criminal drone war in Yemen.
http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2015/04/17/yeme-j17.html
Curious. Open Society is one of George Soros’ many assets. This is the same George Soros that plays a key role in America’s sinister “color coup d’etats” and regime change operations throughout the world.
So why would an American imperial NGO be criticizing US drone attacks?
To influence the terms of political opposition to America’s wars and use of drones in particular.
This report “criticizes” American drone attacks but mostly out of cynical political calculus that they are alienating (read: awakening) people around the world to America’s behavior.
In short, this report is a tactical, not principled, criticism of American drone murders.
It’s also interesting that a Troskyite group, the World Socialist website, is promoting this Open Society report.
Controlled opposition and phony dissent are the only dissent that American “democracy” permits.

My mother couldn’t get enough of Richter’s Decca recording of Tocatta and Fugue in D Major.
She passed the addiction onto me. For which I am eternally grateful. :)
I hate the trivialization of the word but the only single word that seems anywhere near appropriate enough is: awesome.
I have for years thought that “if anyone ever got Music it is” Beethoven.
But after listening and watching Karl Richter conduction of the Brandenburg Concerto, I realize that it was Bach who inspired Beethoven on to the musical hight that he reached, and it has taken a Richter’s interpretation of Bach to get that across to me.
THANK YOU.
Saker,
I think the recommendations for your immune system are appropriate enough but it is Neagea’s link that “will make you feel better.”
a little Erik Satie and Chopin’s Berceuse would help too

I had stomach flu first time in 30 years for 8 days it was gone for 2 weeks and trying to make a comeback. Also pneumonia this year not for 40 years, Bad stuff going around, I think if you don’t eat completely organic you are at risk of getting something. e coli reported in lettuce and bird flu killing chickens in South Ontario where I live. It is a first to my knowledge. Those chicken farms are something else around here. Assembly line type stacks row upon row of birds with less than a sq ft of space. Pretty soon they will have a 3D printer for food. So rest is best medicine they told me and broth French onion good enough for me.
French Onion Soup gets rid of cold and flu really fast. And lots of Vitamin D. Need lots of Vitamin D and NAC for any respiratory illness – chemtrails.
I used to get lots of colds too, till I started taking vitamins D & C regularly. Vitamin D in bottles of gel tablets of 1000 IU, from chemists. Vitamin C – you can get cheapest in bulk from Amazon, as pure ascorbic acid. I bought a 10 pound bag a while ago. In airtight, opaque containers it lasts a long time.
Daily maintenance dose: 2000 IU of D, half a teaspoon of C in a cup of water. Rinse mouth with plain water immediately afterwards, as the ascorbic acid might not be great for teeth enamel.
When you actually have a cold, switch to 5000 IU to 10000 IU of D and a couple of teaspoons of C daily. The cold will go away rapidly.
Under no circumstances accept the flu vaccinations.

This seems to be happening TOO often!! :(
Maybe you need to improve your diet?
One thing I have discovered, is that if I have a window open ALL the time, even in winter, I never get a cold.
Yes, it might cause problems with the rest of la famille :), but maybe you could give it a shot..
Get well soon.

Crimea was “given” to the Ukrainian Soviet Republic only in 1954, when Chruchtchew was drunk, but never ever wanted to be part of Ukraine!
A referendum on sovereignty was held in the Crimean Oblast of the Ukrainian SSR on 20 January 1991.[1] Voters were asked whether they wanted to re-establish the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, which had been abolished in 1945. The proposal was approved by 94% of voters.

It was Kiev who started shooting their own civilians.
It has nothing to do with the Kremlin.

There was another referendum, soon after in 1994 Crimea for similar ballot proposals.
Also had similar huge majority of For votes.
I was reading it on wiki earlier today.
Kruschev did not give away Crimea from being drunk.
He gave it away from being very sober.
There were huge loans to the USSR from the west, with big slabs of Crimea as collateral. When the loans were about due to be repaid, he gave away Crimea, so the creditors couldn’t grab it when he failed to repay the money (because it officially belonged to another country).

APR 17 interview Assad Syria.
even this one admits syria is losing ground so far in 2015 to ISIS.
Another one of lavrov’s imaginary “friends”.
Likely he means on Facebook.
Damascus, SANA – President Bashar al-Assad described in an interview with the Swedish Expressen Newspaper the outcomes of Moscow talks as a breakthrough and said that the UN envoy’s Aleppo plan, which is supported by the government, was spoiled by external intervention, renewing his warning that the terrorism imported to Syria will “bite” its backers whenever it has the chance.
He also called on Sweden to influence the EU to lift the economic sanctions imposed on the Syrian people.

Dear Saker, in hot Florida there is a lot of strong air-conditioning. The shock of transitioning between the hot and cold environments quickly cn make you ill.

@ The Saker,
odaijini [get well].
Your [current] lifestyle comes with a hefty price tag; it lowers your immune system significantly.
Putting in insane hours, communicating over all continents, trying to respond to every {e}mail and living a normal life next to it, turns you body into a well preserved pressure cooker.
Granted, that same process created life [from a scientific pov], but it wreaks havoc once set loose into the chemical factory, inside your brain.
Solution; yeah, if it were that easy. Finding trusted people to be on your side, would be a possibility, but even Jesus ended up with a Judas at his side.
Whatever you choose [or do], it will be a tough choice, no matter what.
Sending along some energy, hope and inspiration.

Big warning out!
APR 15
This top-tier Mockingbird when he spouts off it’s rare, & it means he’s been given a stamped missive & told by his slightly higher up controllers (in this case IMF) to say it.
The risk of seizure has been made worse by new regulations that effectively force market makers and dealers to hold much lower inventories, or to drop out of the business altogether. The IMF said that large inflows of money into mutual funds have “provided an illusion of liquidity in credit markets” but this will be no protection in a major shock.
The report warned that distress in the global oil industry could be the trigger for the next storm. Lending to the oil and gas industry reached $450bn last year, double the pre-Lehman peak. New bond issuance graded at `junk’ level have almost tripled to 45pc. The total debt outstanding is now $3 trillion.

Get well soon, Saker.
Take things lightly.
You are a valuable part of humanity.
Feel better…
I’ve found nothing better for a cold (or most other diseases) than lots of sleep — many naps. While taking it easy you have over 4 hours of Putin to listen to, including his talking about perhaps the retired army officer buying his wife an elephant, as well as lots of other audio and video lectures, reports, etc. to catch up on, while sipping tea (with good anti-oxidents).
Vitamibn C tablets and tea with a slice of lemon and ginger helps arrest the progression of flu like symptoms even if it does not cure.
You can try this, Saker.
A small prayer for your quick recovery. May you bathe in Christ’s pure healing light. Now and always.
Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us,
you’re making a hugh difference in this dark world.

I was homeward bound one night on the deep
Swinging in my hammock I fell asleep
I dreamed a dream and I thought it true
Concerning Franklin and his gallant crew
With a hundred seamen he sailed away
O’er frozen oceans in the month of May
To seek a passage around the pole
Where we poor seamen must sometimes go
Through cruel hardships they mainly strove
Their ship on mountains of ice was drove
Only the Eskimo with his skin canoe
Was the only one that ever came through
In Baffin’s Bay where the whale fishes blow
The fate of Franklin no man may know
The fate of Franklin no tongue can tell
Lord Franklin alone with his sailors does dwell
And now my burden it gives me pain
For my long lost Franklin I would cross the main
Ten thousand pounds I would freely give
To know on earth that my Franklin does live
Dear Saker,
I would recommend this Cold & Flu remedy:
Cut 1/2 inch ginger. Dice finely & add to small pot of boiled water. Boil for 10-15 min, until you taste ginger flavour. Pour into a tea cup & drink before bed.
Ginger root has immune boosting properties, that aids to clear up mucus membranes!
Add 1/2 lemon & tspn honey as desired to soothe throat if sore.
Get well soon…
Oh, yes, any Baroque style music will help to speed up recovery.
Lot of fluid and plenty of sleep.
The key to immunity is microbial flora/fauna in one’s guts ! This is a hot topic of research among new generation of organic doctors, nutritionists, whole health practitioners, and … pharmaceutical companies (big bad wolf) and nutraceutical companies.
Same holds for soil research and its flora and fauna, without which no vegetation growth (transport of minerals, two way energy flow) is possible.
If, for example, one blocks microbial processes in one’s guts, death occurs shortly due to accumulated toxins and redirection of energy/material flow.
That said, one should start with gut and liver cleansing followed by pre and probiotics together with
all other suggested remedies.
The fastest cleansing one can do in case of cold is the ancient one: sauna. Taking a lot clean water/tea with lemon, ginger and electrolytes before, during, and after sauna will provide you with a good first defensive step. Do not take much food, certainly avoid all sweeteners (except for raw honey) and carbs. Alkaline food is preferred.

How would gut flora impact a viral infection in the lung? this is non-sense, virii thrive in oxidized tissues, and bacterias in reduced tissues, gut flora has links to some diseases including mental but not germs infections.
You are right about the preferences of the infecting agents. The role of gut flora is in digestion, so minerals and other nutrients are properly absorbed by the body — this allows the immune system to have the materials it needs to respond quickly and efficiently to attacks by viruses or bacteria.
In fact, the long-term danger of GMO foods is exactly in the damage to the gut bacteria, especially from GMO corn, which creates its own pesticide. GMO corn syrup is a widely used cane-sugar substitute sweetener in just about everything.
a virus infection is always lack of vitamin c and d
take care
Somewhat… in reality it comes from oxidized tissues, which vitamins help correct, but if your tissues aren’t oxidizied in the first place (by drinking ions free water), then you don’t need vitamins as viruses won’t get a foothold in your body.
I will repeat my recommendation for colds and flu:
A large glass of vodka on an empty stomach! Krepkaya.
Dear Saker,
This looks really interesting. http://www.algaeindustrymagazine.com/curing-cancer-algae-one-mans-quest/
In 1995, years after the breakdown of the former Soviet Union, the economy of Dr. Kiriac’s country of Moldova’s had dropped to lowest ever. Dr. Kiriac accepted an offer for assistance in relocating to Canada. Once in Canada, Dr. Kiriac became aware of the significant levels of diseases in America – diseases that he was not accustomed to seeing in Eastern Europe such as diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, heart and cardiovascular problems, and many cancers. He attributed these diseases to the poor nutrition habits, stress, pollution, the processes our foods are subjected to, and to addictions of sugar, alcohol, drugs, and fast foods. He also found there was a significant abuse and misuse of medication and supplements. In 1997, Dr. Kiriac brought Bio-Algae Concentrates to Canada to help people with these ailments, and several projects have already confirmed the results previously observed in Russia. Dr. Kiriac now lectures and works with other health practitioners and their human clients.
Today Bio-Algae Concentrates are grown with highly advanced technologies under strict quality assurance, and have been certified since 2008 under the Health Canada Natural Product program. Bio-algae concentrates are now marketed in the USA by BIOAGE.
I’m still in process of checking this out for my own use. I only just found out about it listening to an interview with Yoichi Shimatsu re Fukushima, but the above industry article is the best validation I’ve found yet, and as it begins with health in agriculture and livestock, that gives it the heads up for me.
Hot toddy for a cold; ….boiling water, juice of at least one lemon, as many cloves of finely chopped or squeezed fresh garlic (5-10 cloves?) as you can bear, cayenne; powder or tincture, but same as with the garlic ie. as hot as you can bear, plenty of raw honey to taste and cinnamon; to taste. Strain after the garlic unless you like to chew up the residue. I do.
Here’s to a swift recovery….
and incalculable thanks to you….
Thanks for the clip. I had forgotten about Catherine. This is nice, an actual composition as opposed to someone playing clichés, running through changes . . .
Old Russian recipe against all illnesses:
Lie down on your back in your bed and cover yourself up to the chin but uncover your feet so that you can see them. Have a couple or so bottles of vodka next to you. Drink vodka until you can see your four feet and not two. Go to sleep. When you wake up in the morning, you are cured! ;)
(For those who didn’t realize it, the above is a joke and not to be taken at face value!)
Dear Saker
If you take all these well meant potions , you’ll really get ill

Many, many thanks,

Very simple remedy for colds. Buy from ebay vit c in powder form. Sodium ascorbate is better than ascorbic acid, since it is easier on the gut. Take a teaspoon or so (not less, more is better) of it every three hours. While you’re waiting for the powder to arrive, buy 1000 mg. pills or caps at the drugstore, and take 4-5 grams (4-5 pills or caps) every three hours. You will kill any cold or flu very quickly indeed. Ignore people who tell you “it’s too much.” They are wrong. Naturally, big pharma doesn’t want you to know about the power of this simple remedy. I never get colds in the first place, because I take 5-6 grams of vit. c daily, and also live where I can get daily sun.
I second this advice.
my wife when she gets a cold uses russian remedy black pepper in vodka-it is terrible-but it works, the next day she is nearly recovered.
Get well soon, perhaps listening to Putin q and a and subsequent rossiya tv interview might lift the spirits…………………………
@ JJ,

james d’angelo
toning exercises to “keep one in tune” etc…..did a workshop once, very good indeed.(also did overtoning)
“James describes the enduring effects of toning being due to the sympathetic vibration that it establishes in the body. He tells his students to tone for roughly five minutes to begin with but then to ‘let go and rest in it.’ The meditative awareness directly after toning potentises the vibration. And the intention of letting go to the sound allows whatever process of release or energisation that is required to take place.
In its essence, sound healing is incredibly simple. James D’Angelo recommends, ‘If I only taught one sound it would be the hummed ‘m’. The same ‘m’ at the end of OM. This represents our higher Self and by humming it, we naturally tune into our higher spiritual frequencies.'”
Dear Saker,
Eat spirulina tablets every day. Also check your pH and go for less acdifying food. Take magnesium chloride salt (nigari is a brand I think) when you get sick. Read on this and on acid alcaline pH in the body. Your immune system is maybe not very strong after years of western diet.
Kind regards,
Saker, are you taking enough vitamin C daily? And not the useless RDA, but say 500mg per day, 250 mg in the morning, 250mg in evening?
Hope you get better soon
