First, here is a pretty good summary of what has taken place (including videos) posted by RT:
- https://www.rt.com/news/444857-russia-ukraine-kerch-strait-standoff/
I will just add that at the time of writing (07:38 UTC) the cargo ship blocking the passage under the bridge has been removed, traffic has resumed and the situation has returned to normal.
Second, let me give you the single most important element to understand what is (and what is not) taking place: the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea are, in military terms, “Russian lakes”. That means that Russia has the means to destroy any and all ships (or aircraft) over these two seas: on the Black Sea the life expectancy of any intruder would be measured in minutes, on the Sea of Azov in seconds. Let me repeat here that any and all ships deployed in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov are detected and tracked by Russia and they can all easily be destroyed. The Russians know that, the Ukrainians know that and, of course, the Empire knows that. Again, keep that in mind when trying to make sense of what happened.
Third, whether the waters in which the incident happened belong to Russia or not is entirely irrelevant. Everybody knows that Russia considers these waters are belonging to her and those disagreeing with this have plenty of options to express their disagreement and challenge the legality of the Russian position. Trying to break through waters Russia considers her own with several armed military vessels is simply irresponsible and, frankly, plain stupid (especially considering point #2 above). That is simply not how civilized nations behave (and there are plenty of contested waters on our planet).
Fourth, one should not be too quick in dismissing Poroshenko’s latest plan to introduce martial law for the next 60 days. Albeit Poroshenko himself declared that this mobilization does not mean that the Ukronazi regime wants war with Russia, the fact is that the first-line reserves will be mobilized. This is important because the situation resulting from the introduction to martial law could be used to covertly increase the number of soldiers available for an attack on Novorussia or, God forbid, Russia herself. In fact, Poroshenko also officially appealed to the veterans of the war against Novorussia to be ready for deployment.
Fifth, while there are all sorts of caveats offered by the Ukronazi regime about the introduction of the martial law, including that it will not mean war or infringe on the right of the people, the truth is very different. Here is what a memo by the Unian agency says about what martial law means in legal terms: (emphasis added)
Martial law is a special legal regime that is introduced in Ukraine or its individual areas in the event of armed aggression or threat of attack, a threat to Ukraine’s state independence, its territorial integrity, and gives authorities, the military command and local self-government the powers that are necessary to prevent threats and ensure national security. It also foresees temporary threat-related limitations on constitutional rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen and the rights and legal interests of legal entities, indicating the duration of such restrictions (Article 1 of the Law on the Legal Regime of Martial Law).
Considering the current single-digit popularity rating of Poroshenko and the fact that he has no chance in hell to be re-elected (at least not in minimally credible elections) it is pretty darn obvious of why the Ukronazi regime in Kiev decided to trigger yet another crisis and then blame Russia for it. The very last thing Russia needs is yet another crisis, especially not before a possible Putin-Trump meeting at the G20 Buenos Aires summit later this month. In fact, Ukrainian bloggers immediately saw this latest provocation as an attempt to scrap upcoming elections.
So what’s next?
Well, the most likely options is just one more Ukie bawling about the “Russian aggression” with the hope that this will a) raise the value of the Poroshenko regime in the eyes of the Empire and b) disrupt the planned Trump-Putin meeting.
I am not so sure that Poroshenko will be given the option to simply cancel the elections. Yes, he cannot win, but the Empire can replace him. Not only that, but outright canceling the elections would be a PR disaster (but one which is sometimes chosen by the Empire’s “sons of bitches” like, say, Mahmoud Abbas). Still there is also a very good chance that the Ukronazis regime feeling that it has nothing to lose would take such an unprecedented step.
Some kind of limited Ukronazi military operations against Russia, Novorussia, Crimea or the Kerch bridge would be militarily suicidal but political very profitable as it would allow Poroshenko to a) blame Russia for all the Ukrainian problems and b) demand even more aid to “resist against the Russian aggression”. The problem with that option is that there are good signs that a lot of the Ukrainian military personnel does not have the courage to actually fight the Russians (for ex: look how ALL the Ukie soldiers folded in Crimea; also, the blog of “Colonel Cassad” reports that of the three ships which tried to breach the Russian border, at least one had a captain who voluntarily surrendered his ship to the Russians; finally, one Ukrainian sailor has apparently been shot for refusing to open fire against the Russians). It is worth mentioning that on Sunday the Urkonazis sent a few more ships obviously to aid the ships intercepted by the Russians, but as soon as the Russians closed the passage and Russian Su-25s and Ka-52 appeared in the skies, they quickly stopped and eventually left the scene. Did they do that under order or because they did not want to die? We will never find out I suppose.
Finally, there is the very real possibility of a full-scale war against Russia. Yes, the Ukronazis would last just a couple of days, but keep in mind that their goal will not be to win, but to force Russia into an overt military operation which the entire “collective West” will have to condemn like what happened with the Georgian attack in 08.08.08. (you know, in the name of “solidarity” like during the Skripal false flag). As for the leaders of the Anglo-Zionist Empire, they will gladly fight Russia down to the very last Ukrainian solider, we all understand that.
Finally, let me address those who might think that Russia somehow over-reacted or should not have used force. First, let me remind you that we are talking about armed and military vessels, not fishing boats. Second, the Ukronazis have been daydreaming about bringing this bridge down even before it was built. So how where the Russians to know that these ships were not packed with explosives? Third, let me remind you that a few months ago the Ukronazis did send a few tiny military vessels under the bridge. That first time, they did ask for permission and even had a Russian pilot on board helping them to cross the narrow passage. Yet the regime in Kiev presented that a major “victory” against the Moskal’s. This time around tried to sneak by without asking. If the Russians had left them pass, what do you think they would have done the next time?
The truth is that the Ukronazi regime has been claiming for years now that it is at war against Russia, that Russia has invaded the Ukraine, that all those who oppose the regime or speak even the basic truth are “agents of the Kremlin/FSB. The funny thing is not just that this is the first time in Russian history that Russia is accused of waging a war which shes does not even participate in – it is even more hilarious that the Ukronazis claim to be at war with Russia but have a hissy fit when three of their (tiny) ships are arrested for violating the Russian border. Is there a war going on or not?! What the hell were they thinking when they tried to force their way through?!
[Sidebar: there is even a joke about this going around: Ukrainian military personnel are asked why they are fighting in the Donbass. They reply “because the Russians are there”. Then they are asked why they are *not* fighting in Crimea and they reply “because the Russians are truly there!!”. Bottom line: everybody knows full well that this is bull and that there are no Russian forces in Novorussia]
How do you prove that the other guy is an “aggressor state”? Simple – by forcing him to attack you. Considering the “selective blindness” of the collective West, the fact that you hit the other guy first makes absolutely no difference whatsoever (again, see 08.08.08).
It is obvious that the Nazi regime in Kiev is in a tailspin and that short of some dramatic action Poroshenko is a goner. Most of the gang around him won’t fare much better, especially not if Timoshenko ever gets the presidency (which might happen if the Empire decides to ditch Poroshenko). For them the options are either to leave the Ukraine or face some serious jail time (sort of the same situation as Saakashvili had to face).
We are entering a very dangerous time period, one in which a totally corrupt Nazi regime will fight with every trick imaginable to save itself. Whether this will result in a major war against Novorussia or Russia is impossible to predict, but we have to recognize that this is a distinct possibility.
The Saker
UPDATE: Monday November 26th 11:11UTC:
Looks like Poroshenko ran into some real problems in the Rada. Unsurprisingly, pretty much all the political parties have immediately understood what this was all about and have categorically rejected the text Poroshenko submitted. They only adopted a much watered-down version in which the martial law is introduced only for one month, not two, and the fact that the elections will take place as scheduled has been re-confirmed. Thus our “favorite” Uber-loser Poroshenko again failed in his latest plan and we must expect more crazy stuff as this regime will not go down gracefully. Stay tuned!
“Trying to break through waters Russia considers her own with several armed military vessels is simply irresponsible and, frankly, plain stupid…”
True, but it is Washington’s standard MO. In the South China Sea, for example.
“That is simply not how civilized nations behave (and there are plenty of contested waters on our planet).”
True, provided you do not count the USA as a civilized nation.
It is also the Turkish MO throughout the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean. They have been doing it for decades now.
I know there is a newfound ‘love’ on some of the commentators about Turkey due to their “alliance” (sort of) with Russia, but one should never forget that they were, and still are, an extremely aggressive—and not very civilized—nation.
Anon, I agree. Cooperation between Russia and Turkey is just a matter of convenience and it does not mean “love” between them. Syria clearly evidences that, as Turkey will never surrender itself to any agreement unless it benefits her. Yesterday’s chemical attack is an excellent example.
If you study Tatar, Mongol and Turk historical behavior you will see that nothing has changed.
What if you study Khazar behaviour, for example, a shitty little country that starts with an “I”?
Aren’t they basically Turks?
No, they aren’t, nor is there any sign they ever spoke Turkic. You shouldn’t believe such Nazi propaganda fairy tales slandering the Kazakhs or Cossacks, if you will. (i.e. Russians)
They’re mostly Western Europeans with possibly some Jewish ancestry, and therefore spoke Yiddish, a German dialect.
No need to slander Turkey here either. This article is about an AngloZionist provocation in the Ukraine and doesn’t even mention Turkey.
Milos,
Khazars were Turkmen. Looking at Greek sad history of 1921-22 you will see, that Western coast (Greek Ionia) was burned by the well armed and organized goons aka khazars who called themselves Young Turks who happily served Ataturk.
Laika, I agree with you Cossacks were never Tatars or other Turkmen. But I do not doubt that in XVI-XVII AD some local people of Russian steppes (today called Donbas, Zaporozhe) possibly spoke some Turkic languages of Tatars and other Turkmen because they needed to communicate with the hordes which constantly harassed them in search of yassir.
If you call Turkey extremely aggressive, what do you call the USA?
Oh, I know!
A Khazarian attack dog!
Isn’t that the three-headed attack dog?
The Turks exterminated through unimaginably horrible means the first Christian nation of the world, the Armenians (and the Greeks) and appropriated their ancient homeland which now the Turks call their motherland.
The Turks are intermingled with Donmeh (Frankist) Jews and are an incredibly insidious and savage people. The Turks deny that they committed the Armenian (and the Pontus Greek) genocide(s) but in the same breath proudly exclaim that they would do it all over again if they had the chance.
When I asked Turks why did the Armenians not return to their homes and lands after WWI if the Turks had not committed genocide against them, the answer I got was, the taste of what we did to your grandmother must have stuck to your genes. Inveterate sadists the Turks are. You can read everyday in Turkish newspapers and social media how Turks raped, tortured and dismembered dogs and cats — and little children.
You cannot see one Turk that does not carry the genes of the European, Greek and Armenian girls that they enslaved and raped.
Putin and the Russians are betraying Christianity and reason by doing business with these monsters. Unfortunately, it seems both Russia and Turkey are dominated and ruled by the same Frankist/Donmeh/Bolshevik/Zionist Jews who tortured and exterminated millions of Russians.
From the horse’s mouth: https://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3342999,00.html
Not to mention the Gulf of Tonkin incident and the sinking of the Maine during the SpanishAmerican war. And of course there was the Lusitania in 1915. The US seems to have a penchant for maritime false flags
You forgot the USS Liberty in 1967, which was obviously going to be blamed on Egypt, until a Russian submarine showed up and ruined the party.
not to mention the Operation Northwoods plans…
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Northwoods
This situation is a little different and far more dangerous for the simple fact that in south china Sea there are no specific structures they are navigating through but rather just ‘contested’ open water. In the Kerch Strait there is a massive multi billion dollar infrastructure project (the bridge) that is vitally strategically important and which both Ukraine and American authorities have threatened to “blow up” before in an act of terrorism. And as such that means extra precautions have to be taken by Russia to defend against these threats.

“Poroshenko also officially appealed to the veterans of the war against Novorussia to be ready for deployment”.
The survivors, rather. I don’t expect many of them will show great enthusiasm.
Maybe Mr Porkoshenko could try leading from the front, in his own little tank flying a nice SS flag?
Putin made mistake in 2014. He was supposed to let and help Donbas Army to take Mariupol and entire Azov coast, so this would not happen.
You are right!
Putin could have formed the new buffer state of Novorussiya, running from Kharkov southwest to Odessa. Such a state would have comprised the majority of Ukrainians who supported Yanukovich and identified with Russian culture as much as or more than Ukrainian nationalism.
Leading up to the Minsk conference, Putin boasted that he could take Kiev in 2 weeks. But he miscalculated or misunderstood the will of Germany and France to compel the US support the terms of the Minsk agreement. He should have known better then; but I am sure that he does now.
What is it with all the neo-imperialist calls to action towards Putin? Ukraine is either part of Russia, or it isn’t. Putin thinks it is not, therefore, even if a hostile, Banderite, fascist government gets installed there by rogue terrorist states with the aim of antagonizing him and his country, it’s still none of his business and he is right to stay out of it, even if it’s disadvantages him in the short term, long term, he is winning.
Crimea was an isolated incident, one of vital geostrategic and geopolitical importance to Russia and Russian security. “Taking” territories or forming states, in other words, “meddling” in another states affairs just because something happened there not to ones liking, is not something Russia should actively pursue the way the US and it’s bootlicking vassals do, as you and many others apparently want them to.
Ukraine is a sovereign nation, just because some rogue states are sticking their fingers where they don’t belong doesn’t mean Russia should, or is even allowed to in the first place. International law will survive the US empire, if there are influential states willing to abide by it while they do not, until such a time the empire is no more.
If you haven’t noticed, Russia is the undisputed diplomatic powerhouse of the planet right now, they are talking to everybody and have contributed more towards forming a multi polar world than all the rest trying to achieve such a goal combined. Russia has convinced more countries to go off the dollar in bilateral trade in the last 4 years than the total number of countries daring to do so in the last 40.
Russia does this in spite of an unprecedented cultural, political and economic assault on itself by the West. The mere fact that we live in the information age with news travelling around the globe in milliseconds, dwarfs all other historic examples of demonisation towards a country or people. The penetration these poisonous propaganda pieces and lies the West comes up with achieve is astonishing, during no other period in time were so many people exposed to propaganda like this and Russia STILL comes out on top.
Oh, and there is another aspect, one everyone should be familiar with from a very young age: you break it, you own it. Russia has enough problems within it’s vast borders, the last thing they need is to go look for more outside of them.
I agree with everything you have written here, but I’d like to point out that since we live in the information age, debunking propaganda/lies can be done at the same speed and penetration.
The problem is that Ukraine really is part of Russia. . .
My thoughts exactly, too much appeasement from Russia.
BC,
I wiill quote Polish saying: “Co się odwlecze to nie uciecze” <= what gets postponed will not run away. Patience my boy, is what cooks the goose.
Putin knew, that Russia at that time was not ready for serious confrontation with the West. Four years past, he gave his men some training in Syria and he had an opportunity to evaluate them as well.
Today I read somewhere, that Russia moved 500 aircraft to the Ukrainian border (maybe this was Ukie hoax, but nevertheless).
I totally agree, Putin doesn’t want parts of Ukraine but is waiting for the entire Ukraine to fall in his lap like a rotten apple and most Ukrainians will love him for that.
The Ukrainians are simply aping their American masters.
The strategy Ukraine used here is one that the Americans and their criminal partners perpetuate around the world.
It’s called Poke and Provoke.
It works like this:
You poke the bear in order to bait him into lashing out. Poke the bear once, twice, thrice … a million times if needed. After the bear eventually lashes out, you can point your finger and accuse the bear of aggression–ignoring the fact that you provoked him in the first place.
This Poke and Provoke tactic works … if you have effective control over a morally bankrupt global media that will go along with this Machiavellian tactic and your version of unreality.
Poke and Provoke.
It’s the American (and apparently Ukrainian) Way.
Always come straight here to get the Saker POV on incidents like this.
Was trying to cross-post this on ZeroHedge, but their comment system keeps on crashing. Strange, never normally happens. Wonder if someone is running “interference”.
I personally don’t believe that Poroshenko has any decision-making agency – rather, IMO he’s a Ukrainian hologram that takes marching orders from abroad, DC, New York and Tel Aviv. It is crystal-clear that the current ‘Ukrainian government’ doesn’t care a straw about the people of Ukraine and that they are willing and ready to use the people of Ukraine as sacrificial lambs for the greater glory of the Empire, as if the past suffering of the people of Ukraine weren’t enough. Remember what Jacques Attali said: the next world war will break out at any of three fronts: 1) Ukraine, 2) Middle East or 3) South China Seas. This seems to be their grand plan. If it is, let’s hope it doesn’t quite go the way they want.
To quote Forrest Gump, “Mama always said STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES!”. The Willy Wonka of Ukraine should take note.
What about the rumor that the zioukros had an atomic tactical device in one of the boats to try and blow up the bridge? It was supposedly provided by Albion. Can anyone confirm that version?
Seems unlikely. And how could anyone confirm it?
Keep abreast of the situation. All three ‘ships, two tiny and wet running Dniepr River patrol boats and one tired old harbor tug are sitting in Kerch Harbor. If there was a nuke device, Russia would have known of it and captured all three the moment they left Odessa.
For that matter, the Russians would now currently possess the device in Kerch harbor where those captured ships were taken. Presumably Lavrov and Putin would be showing pictures of it to the world. Can’t imagine why they’d keep it a secret.
So, the odds of that story being true? I’d put them at Slim and None with Slim running a distance second and noticeably fading by the stride.
Anybody notice that this provocation takes place just a few days after British special forces landed in Ukraine? Two plus two is four, my friends. My hunch is it’s the Brits behind all this. They are on an all-out hybrid offensive against Russia, and won’t let go. Their aim is to keep the US on imperialist mode. They know that if any kind of old American isolationist mode kicks in the US, the British will be cut down to size in terms of power, soft and hard. Another thought: I think the “Deep State” could also be called the British Lobby.
Poroshenko is a modern day “Burgundin” (the proto-quislings who fought for England against Joan of Arc during the 100 year war). That’s what all “Atlanticists of non-Anglo stock are in Eurasia, by and large. The metaphor should be clear my friends, we are in a 100-year hybrid war.
It has been noticeable that the Brit corporate news websites are much more aggressive in trying to promote this crisis. Inflamatory headlines about the Russian shooting. Stories that only give the Ukraine point of view with a few belligerent European quotes from NATO and EU thrown in. Note that it has been the European figurehead of NATO making the quotes, and not the American general who actually runs things.
The story was much higher on the Brits’ ‘top stories’ list. As if it said “Please read this about Russia instead of reading about May’s Brexit disaster.”
On the one American corporate site I can currently stomach, the story is buried well down the page, isn’t listed in top stories at all, and has the realistic headline of “Russia brings captured Ukrainian sailors to court” The story begins with a realistic statement of why Russia is charging them.
Of course, it would be very hard for an American site to criticize Russia for detaining foreign military and intel officers who violate the border at the same time that Trump is ordering fire upon unarmed, civilian migrants, including women and children, who simply want their right under international treaty to apply for asylum. Not impossible, but would be a hard case to make and requires considerable contortion to pull off. Its easier just to move the Russia story well down the page.
Thanks The Saker for this quick update and analysis.
This piece is the piece that woke me up fairly early in this morning: “We are entering a very dangerous time period, one in which a totally corrupt Nazi regime will fight with every trick imaginable to save itself. Whether this will result in a major war against Novorussia or Russia is impossible to predict, but we have to recognize that this is a distinct possibility.”
The good part is that will see clearly in the coming days how deep the desperation of empire is at this time. The other possibility is that they may abandon their Ukrainian Project altogether. Money for these adventures is fast becoming a very real problem. Here is to hoping that the tension of this adventure fizzles out with only a lot of words and accusations in the Security Council today.
Ummm…is there any update about the allegedly 15 vessels that have previously been seized by Ukraine in the Sea of Azov as is claimed? Eg the ship with 3000 tons steel plating being delivered to Mariupol from Donbass being seized as it “supported” terrorists….?
Source please? Only two ships that I’ve heard of were seized by the orcs and they were seized for ‘visiting’ Krimea.
Auslander
Hiya..”On Thursday(November 16th JJ)the UNN news agency reported citing Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service that 15 vessels calling in Crimea had been detained in the ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol. The Border Guard Service noted that it was keeping an eye on another 940 vessels, most of them serving Crimean ports.
“Kiev believes it is crucial to provoke Russia into imposing countermoves that are as harsh as possible, preferably with the use of force so that it could then appeal to European agencies with allegations about Russian aggression. Judging by Europe’s recent statements, we can see that this scheme might work,” Kosachev told TASS, adding that the Europeans “have already expressed concern over legitimate inspections of foreign vessels by Russian agencies.”
However, the Europeans have failed to mention the fact that relations between Moscow and Kiev had been marred through the fault of Ukraine, which arrested the Nord vessel and illegally detained its captain, Kosachev pointed out.
“Of course, retaliatory measures are needed. They should be within the framework of laws, the way it has been until now, and with clear repercussions for the Ukrainian ‘pirates,’ so that Kiev realizes that lawlessness at sea will result in damage to Ukraine itself and this is what is actually happening now,” Kosachev explained.
He added that if the situation showed no signs of improvement, the Foreign Affairs Committee would discuss the issue at a meeting with law enforcement agencies, as was the case after the Nord’s seizure.
The Nord vessel seizure
In March 2018, Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service detained the Nord fishing vessel, whose crew included ten Russian nationals, in the Sea of Azov. Its captain, Vladimir Gorbenko, was charged with “violating the entry and exit rules to Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territory” and illegal fishing. The crewmembers were prevented from leaving Ukraine with Russian passports until they were exchanged for Ukrainian sailors on October 30.
The seized Nord vessel was put up for sale by the Ukrainian authorities. The first auction scheduled for November 7 did not take place. However, Kiev announced plans to auction it off again reducing the opening price.

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General said on November 1st that general cargo ship Comet (IMO 9146106) had been detained in Mariupol, with 3,000 tons of steel plates that were destined for Antwerp being confiscated. The steel plates were produced by the Alachevsk Steel Mill in the occupied Krim territory and any trade deals with any companies and factories on occupied territories are considered by Ukraine to be illegal. Ukraine said that all the involved parties, including the manager of the ship, would be prosecuted, not just for illegal trade and violation of sanctions, but also for collusion in terrorism. The Comet had called at Mariupol on October 28th, arriving from the port of Temryuk, where the shipment had been loaded. Other goods were scheduled to be loaded in Mariupol. As of November 5th the vessel was still moored. 1997-built, Liberia-flagged, 5,997 gt Comet is owned by Nadir Shipping Co Ltd care of manager Johann M K Blumenthal GmbH & Co KG of Hamburg, Germany. Temryuk (Russian: Темрю́к) is a town and the administrative center of Temryuksky District in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Taman Peninsula on the right bank of the Kuban River not far from its entry into the Temryuk Bay, amid a field of mud volcanoes. The seaport of Temryuk is situated 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) from the town itself.
Very informative and insightful.
I’m afraid, though, that the Saker places too much hope in Timoshenko. Her only redeeming quality is her hatred of Poroshenko; but she could be even worse, because she’s more intelligent, but no less cynical and ready to serve the Empire by absolutely all possible means. In addition, she’s no more of an ethnic Ukrainian than Poroshenko. She also has a Jewish background. Don’t be fooled by her Ukrainian braid!
Tymoshenko too unreliable for usa…unpredictable … my mrs has checked the internet…clearly usa supporting or initialising martial law with cheapi boats so they have time to get rid of Poro.give him time to plan his escape due to Russian agression…try to find another sucker….try to put sufficient rewards i centives blackmail choose what you wish in place for a follower on…..carry on splitting orthodox church with more than the 25 million so far…keep everyone guessing to raise the game in The Ukraine…..etc etc….
Don’t mention the Jews! In Ukraine are only ‘ukro-nazis’.
“Don’t mention the Jews! In Ukraine are only ‘ukro-nazis’.”
Ukronazi and zionazi are basically synonymous. Almost all nazi, fascist, supremacist oriented, extremist right wing [bowel] movements in the west are either bum toys of the zionazis, or allied to them. Whether the knuckledragging rank and file realise this or not.
A clear-headed analysis. Unfortunately, the EU is sleepwalking into the abyss of a new European Civil War. It becomes totally obvious that none of the three big (Britain, France, Germany) have learned a single thing form the lessons of WWI. They celebrate the end of that stupid and suicidal war by creating and abetting the conditions for a new one.
Poroshenko Gets His War: General Mobilization of Ukrainian Army Announced by Kiev

Unfortunately all I can do about this is pray, which I will do.
Thanks Saker, for a very quick response to a serious incident.
As suspected, the responses in the western MSM are mainly mentioning Russian ‘aggression’, and (again) that they ‘annexed Crimea’ (strange, I never read something of the Turkish military occupation of half of an EU nation, well, never mind).
The first thought that went through my mind was something of ‘what the hell were they thinking?’
If true that one of the Ukrain commanders surrendered immediately, he will surely tell – he may sing like a bird because he cannot go back to the Ukraine unless he has a dead wish, I guess.
If true that a sailor refused to shoot at the Russian navy and was shot for that – the poor lad may have saved the lives of his colleagues, but what was his commander thinking?
I was not completely surprised, while this weekend I read this article by Arkady Savitsky: https://www.globalresearch.ca/uk-commits-extra-military-forces-to-ukraine-irresponsible-policy-dangerous-repercussions/5660940 about the rising tensions and UK military presence.
@Roberto already made that link, and it might be correct.
What are the British doing there, thousands of miles from home?
I fear this fits in a pattern, that the British are desperately seeking some of their old colonial ‘grandeur’ and are willing to do the most strange jumps. Remember the Skripal case (where are those people, btw)?
I tried to imagine that a British navy vessel is entered, tugged to a Russian port, and the crew prosecuted for piracy. Let’s hope it will not come that far.
Cheers, Rob
MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Another meeting of the Normandy Quartet (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine) at the political director level is due in Berlin on November 26, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said on Wednesday.
“The meeting is due on November 26. It will be held in Berlin,” Karasin said.
Previously, the Normandy Quartet’s political directors met in Berlin on July 26.

What a coincidence……did that actually happen???,,,??
I can’t imagine that there is anything more in the way of economic sanctions that the Zionists and the Ukro-Nazis can do to Russia and its proteges. But all persons who are in any way connected to -or supportive of- the Russian government and its policies, and who are living abroad, ought to fear for their safety. Harassment, arrest and imprisonment have already been used selectively.
The Neo/Zio-cons are pursuing a plan to hurt the Russian economy and Russia’s national pride ever so incrementally, while using proxies to provoke Russia into a military response. I am sure that there are in Russia many who will be tempted to walk out of the UN and other international organizations, because there is no way that they will be given a fair treatment.
For some reason, the deep statists in America believe that they will have the upper hand in any direct conflict with Russia. Their assumption, I am sure, is that China will risk nothing to help Russia in such a conflict. Like Stalin in 1939, China will hope to see the two sides destroy each other. Regardless who is left to declare itself the victor, China could then be in a position similar to that of America in 1945.
Due to horrible and irresponsible mismanagement of its military, the US will be in its least capable state to wage war sometime in the 2020-2028 period. The Russians -I expect- are preparing for this period, when the next incremental provocation/sanction will prove to be the one too many.
In the meantime, Russia will never catch a break from countries tied to the new world order. The information war against it just never stops, even to take a breath.
How does China not helping(which is highly unlikely in any case), give USA the upper hand in a conflict with the Russian Federation?Between Russia and China, Russians probably have the more capable and certainly, the more advanced, experienced military, though the Chinese military might be bigger due to their population. Also, I doubt the Americans will have the upper hand against a country like Iran, to say nothing of Russia.

Just look at the last Soviet vs China conflict, where China was trying to flood border territory (I can’t remember which territory, but I do not think it’s important) It did not end well for China. Same with China Vietnam war, after USofA got kicked out of Vietnam. China decided it needed to subdue Vietnam and sent somewhere around 150,000 strong army, just so they would get kicked in whatever by the Vietnamese Army (I always wondered why did China send her Army to Vietnam? Notice that shortly after that China started to do very well economically and all American Industry moved there, Hmmm…)
Keep in mind Nord-Stream 2. The US is determined to prevent, disrupt or delay the final stage and connection to Germany.
Setting up Russia for more troubles is the To-Do of each and every day in the life of UK-US-NATO criminals.
A brief, disastrous war or armed clash is the perfect recipe to cripple Russia’s economy again.
Losing the war for whoever starts a fight with Russia is predictable. But the war or clash is the goal.
And it might just result in an opening in Russia’s defenses as well as public attitude among Russians.
The US is desperate to demonstrate some failure in Russian weaponry to stop the massive movement of third world and second world nations from buying those systems.
Porky and all the Kiev personalities in power and trying to get into power are from the Zio Tribe, so they serve the Khazarians in D.C. The dream is shared with the Kagan clan, et al., to destroy the Russian Federation, break it to pieces, capture the natural resources, and kill off the Russian peoples. That is a permanent policy. Nothing will change that centuries old goal.
I see the reservoir of hope is at its final last drops for Putin and the leadership of the Kremlin. They will not get a change in this ever-present threat situation until Kiev is taken apart and all Western military is cauterized and contained in a tiny Banderastan at Lviv. Ukraine is a massive military platform for all kinds of weapons systems aimed at Russia, Belarus, and North Caucasus. Militarily, it is untenable to permit its existence.
The best asymmetrical effort to destroy the Nazi regime would be to arm uprisings while destroying all violations of the Minsk 2 contact zone (tanks, artillery, armored vehicles destroyed wherever they have infringed the gray zone). If the newly refreshed Ukie air force appears, destroy all of it, also. Take apart the war machine under Minsk 2 legal authority (UNSC), and liberate other cities, wiping out SBU and CIA-Mi6 operations, also. Arm the Donbass with whatever it needs to destroy the Ukie (with US-NATO advisers embedded) military.
Yes, that’s a war, but it’s a legal police action to enforce the Minsk 2 ground rules.
Line up China and others to support the action.
You achieve Peace when the threats and criminal military actions are crushed. There will never be a day the Ukraine is not a menace until Kiev is changed.
The goal of an asymmetrical war is not a unified Ukraine, pacified. The goal should be Novorossiya and only a tiny Banderastan left. Let Poland and Hungary take a piece, too. This will occur if the military and SBU is destroyed. Presently, these organs of the Empire operate with impunity killing Russians.
The only other option seems to be to recognize the Donbass, grant them status and passports and defend them within the Southern District defenses overtly.
A SuperPower cannot allow a neighbor like Ukraine to threaten it. That threat has to be terminated.
There are many signs indicating that Belarus is next for the Hegemon. What then?
The situation is totally untenable. Diplomacy cannot work to reverse the madness.
Evil has to be burnt to ashes. This is just a reality in geopolitical history.
Naziism is in power and that has to be ended. It is like rabies in dogs. They have to be destroyed.
“Keep in mind Nord-Stream 2. The US is determined to prevent, disrupt or delay the final stage and connection to Germany.”
Finally, someone gets the cigar. If a genuine cold war can be contrived it would kill Nordstream 2 and the US gets to sell their overpriced fracked gas to the EU. It would also increase pressure on neutral nations not to buy Russian armaments.
No, the Outlaw US Empire would get a chance to sell its overpriced gas. Lots of economizing would take place first, but only if Denmark continues to be a slave.
I have read a bunch o this situation and the surrounding noise and spoken to several folks who know what went down. Here are some givens.
1. Petroshenko does not take his morning constitutional without first asking permission and being told how many corn cobs he is allowed to use to clean up the mess.
2. There was absolutely no reason, or gain, for the orcs to pull this trick. They knew the result, as did the handlers in Langley. A carefully planned and executed provocation with the desired results known beforehand.
3. Russia, by acting completely within international law and the treaty with Ukraine concerning the Straights and the Azov, will now be, and is being, branded as the aggressor in this act.
4. One third of the casualties inflicted on the orcs were self inflicted, apparently one sailor refused to open fire on a Russian ship and as a result was shot by his officer. One of the little river boats was surrendered by his commander, the other two were boarded and taken although the pounce was not violent.
With the much anticipated meeting between President Putin and President Trump at the G20 meeting coming very shortly, therein one can read precisely why this action was initiated. What better way to spoil the meeting than have Russia pilloried to the high heavens for aggression a week before this important meeting.
As I have said before, President Trump is a prisoner in a gilded cage.

Trump will be “briefed” by Russophobic Khazarians from CIA, NSC and Pentagon filled with hate and malice against Russia.
Then, DJT will think of how he can “win” against Putin. It will be a brief meeting to minimize Putin.
After all, the big thing at the G20 is China and “winning” against Xi.
I expect Putin to be marginalized like he was at Paris. He got to shake hands and give a thumbs up.
Porky has orders to follow and so does Trump. They obey the Khazarians because those that don’t die.
Trump wants to be re-elected. Trump wants to protect his family. Trump needs to protect his Trump Wealth.
There will be no real talking with Putin.
Read the tea leaves. The Russian Liberals feel they have undermined Putin’s relationship with the voters and general public. Momentum in “rebuilding the Ukraine” is underway. IMF pumped in more billions. Militarizing and putting the nation under martial law adds to the “aggressor Russia” theme. There are numerous new bases for NATO in Ukraine and thousands of advisers and mercenaries including ISIS technicals. Ukraine also will be used to undermine Belarus. That’s the next target of the Hegemon.
Patience by the Kremlin has created a vacuum which is now filled with Western tactics and logistical support for the Nazi regime. The amalgam of Naziism, Khazarianism, and Hegemony is catalyzing in Ukraine.
The US is testing the Russian Federation, the Union State (Russia-Belarus) and the CSTO.
Putin has to defeat this strategy.
He should form a War Council government as signal that the Federation is ready to go to swords.
445, yes, I know DJT is getting a kaka sandwich for briefings and I would think he knows this. However, whatever hold they have on him is as strong as the hold they have on all the ‘leaders’ of eu since not a one has stepped out of line for thirty and more years.
Putin doesn’t care if he is ‘marginalized’ at the G20, he does his best work behind closed doors and I have zero doubts the a lot of people will be pawing at that door handle. On the other hand Mutti, who is just as subservient to her industrialists as she is to Langley, knows she’s dead meat if she bungles Nord Stream 2. Germany, and eu, can not live without Russian gas and POL, period. Let the shops of Benz, VW, Siemens et al get cold in January and you’ll see American bases closing in February. What is the hegemon going to do, attack Germany? I doubt it even though the Bundeswehr is but a shadow of what it was 15 years ago and can not field one armor battalion, let alone a division, in the defense of the Fatherland. Germany and Russia are natural allies and it’s only been outside influences that have prevented this alliance for well over a century. Those days are rapidly coming to and end.
I agree that the orcs need to be put in their place and I have no doubts that day is approaching, but the event will happen when VVP decides it will happen, no one else has any say in the coming boot downslam. I’m sitting here and watching the Atlanticists thinking they’re on the winning track, the orcs gloating and Langley ready to pass out the champagne….just like they were in Syria three years ago. VVP will strike when he is ready and not one second before. Atlanticists et al, beware, your day is coming.

Looking backwards at events in hind-sight, the one thing that we always see with Putin is that he has the patience of a martial arts master, waiting, waiting, waiting for an opponent to get off balance or to over-extend themselves, then he strikes. He strikes unhesitatingly, and surely. And always at what seems in hindsight to have been at just the right moment.
I think that this situation does not warrant war moves.
Granted, from the point of view of the Russians whose job it is to scan the seas and skies. seeing these three boats coming tearing in outside of the established protocols must have been alarming and they must have envisioned an attack on the bridge as a possibility as no one knew what these boats were carrying.
But from that point on Russia clearly had deployed a multi layer defense system ready for anything.
They had jet fighters up ready to control the sky. They had attack helicopters deployed ready to sink small ships if need be.
They had vessels in the water in the area carrying armed forces and were actually able to board the Ukrainian ships and arrest the crew and nobody got killed.
This is surely an example of flexible responsiveness – being ready for conflict at any level – of the highest order and professionalism.
From air war right down to making individual arrests on the ground.
Russian “liberals” can do nothing, but make little squeaky noises so they can get their handouts. Putin knows it, as well as his security council. And Putin already fired the over the bow shot, he showed “No more BS”.
Now the Emperor without clothes can make the move, Putin told him he is ready. Porky after some heavy arm twisting and possibly buttering up few palms got one month from Rada, so he will have to make his move before Christmas. And then he will lose all of NovoRossia and some Putin put him on notice. The question is: ” is he game? I do not think so.
The only positive part of this whole episode is that Putinite “restraint” was, for once, not in evidence. All that has ever done is embolden Russia’s enemies, and if Russia had not used force this tube, it would have now as well.
I don’t see it as a bad thing if Putin finally has to do what he should have done in 2014, actually invaded Ukranazistan and overthrown the Banderastani Nazi regime. What more can Amerikastan do, impose more “sanctions”? On what, cheesemakers and trolleybus drivers?
The military forces of Ukraine are combat ready after the country’s national security council voted to impose martial law. It comes in response to Moscow detaining three Ukrainian naval ships on Sunday off the coast of Crimea. Russia’s Federal Security Service claims the ships illegally entered Russia’s territorial waters, where they carried out ‘dangerous manoeuvres’.
Troubled waters: Ukraine to declare martial law after sea clash with Russia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLu_5AWJQPc
Ready for what? Ukraine would last about a day against the Russian army. At the end of a day any effective or threatening combat capability would have been neutralised.
The only thing they are ‘ready’ for is death, presumably.
“Combat ready” to be incinerated if they move against Donbass, Crimea, or the Russian borders.
Porky is desperate to stay in power. This is about the election results which will write a history of Porky’s reign as the greatest disaster in Ukraine’s history. He wants to improve his chances of getting a reasonable result, though he must know he can’t and won’t win. He is somehow thinking he can stall the election and leave on his own terms.
He also may be tacking toward a new stratagem which gets him out from under Minsk 2.
What he has achieved so far is another tactical blunder. And now he has doubled down with martial law.
An operation initiated by porkshank? Or by his zionazi bosses?
The quisling, poroshenko, doesn’t go to the loo without asking permission from his handlers in tel aviv and dc (new york). The ukronazis are the zionazi’s daesh in eastern europe and under full control.
Given the other coordinated moves porkshank made, shelling Novorussia, initiating martial law, this provocation is a planned trigger in a wider israeloamerican (zpc/nwo) escalation of tension and anti-Russia psywar.
In the ukraine, it matters little to zionazia whether poroshenko or one of their other quislings win the next election. Which are in March, 2019, 4 months away, making these provocations too early to have much effect.
The plan here is to put ukraine on a more intense war footing, prepare it for an intensification of proxy use for the israeloamerican hybrid war against Russia.
It is also obvious that the zionazi cw attack in Syria the day before is part of this next step in their planning and the ukronazi provocations were timed to coincide.
Correction, I just saw info posted under a previous article here that ukronazi attacks against Novorussia had not spiked.
JJ has posted reports that indicate the prior day was 23 artillery shots that hit, while yesterday 90+ hit.
That looks like a spike. And if you had 99 artillery and heavy mortar shots coming at you, you’d think it was heavy.
Hell, 99 pellets or .22’s would be heavy if it was coming your way.
Here’s the link to the comment:

“The total number of ammunition used by the Ukraine Forces – 99 units.
Recall the number of issued ammunition caliber to 12.7 mm is not included in the overall statistics of the amount of ammunition in the daily report.
In the previous day the amount of ammunition used throughout the territory of the DPR was 23 units.”
I posted a comment querying whether there had not been much action as Ollie said he was there…..but via Patrick Lancaster reporting that Donetsk itself said had taken place…..as I have not had a belief that Donetz makes false claims…nor Patrick Lancaster …..so I do hope we get confirmation as that did get widely published.
Any other confirmation one way or another out there as some of us are reliant on limited sources? Cheers. I would appreciate it. Thank you.
JJ, daily official reports from the DPR: http://armiyadnr.su
I use Yandex set to auto-translate into English.
I’ve been reading the daily reports (800+) and relatively speaking, it has been quiet compared to the previous big spikes; obviously this is not the case at the front, but with regard to the cities of Donetsk & Gorlovka etc, it is.
The DPR military has got just about everything documented with regard to enemy info (including insiders), all they need is the order to open up.
The enemy is mostly a very demoralised force, in it for the pay, often drunk and openly refusing orders – they are trying to survive and do not want to fight.
It is not for nothing that no major enemy offensive has happened by now.
L445
That was the comment I was referring to. Let’s take another look at it. It starts with:
“Control and Coordination reported that in the 24 hour period Ukraine attacked DPR 20 times. Actually down from 23 from the day before although a pumping station did come under shelling. So all in it seems the Kerch strait incident has not yet affected the DPR. Ukraine attacks Donbass every day and that should be known by the world”
Then further on:
“The total number of ammunition used by the Ukraine Forces – 99 units.
In the previous day the amount of ammunition used throughout the territory of the DPR was 23 units.”
A contradiction. At the beginning, the 23 figure for the day before was the number of ukronazi attacks, while later on it was used for the amount of ammunition used by them. The number of attacks clearly is not equal to the amount ammo used in those attacks. Look at the figures provided for 25 Nov:
20 attacks, 99 for the amount of ammunition used in those attacks. The amount of ammunition used the day before is not detailed in the presented material, but it certainly must have been more than 23, since that was the number of attacks.
What I think happened is the later passage when 23 was used as a figure for ammo use was an error. Probably a typo or translation error. This confusion then being telegraphed further down the line as people repeated the error and this is where the news that the ukronazis greatly increased their shelling of Novorussia on the 25th originated from.

KIEV, November 26. /TASS/. Europe has suspended talks on the participation in the management of the gas transmission system (GTS) of Ukraine immediately after the topic of martial law emerged, since this matter might lead to an energy crisis in the country, an analyst with the Ukrainian Institute of Energy Studies Yuri Korolchuk said on Monday.

Argentina is firmly in the grip of its old sinister handlers and they are back to their old methods of murdering people who raise their voice even slightly, like journalist Martin Licata a few days ago. https://twitter.com/Joserojo_93/status/1065516812471861249
Also, I would not be surprised if there is some kind of attack on the Crmea bridge itself to elicit a bigger reaction.. They are absolutely capable of doing anything. Putin should stay home and take care of things from there. This is no time to be flying halfway around the world just to shake a few reptilian paws.
There will be no attack on the Krimu Bridge, if there is, the Russian Army will be in Lemburg 8 hours later. The orcs know this fact.

Well talks of some kind did take place…MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak discussed Russian gas transit via the territory of Ukraine with Germany’s Energy Minister Peter Altmaier, the Russian Energy Ministry reports on Monday.
“Energy ministers of Russia and Ukraine held a constructive conversation, with various issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction with third parties discussed in its course, including further prospects of the Russian gas transit via the territory of Ukraine,” the Ministry says.
No details of the discussion are provided.

May I correct one small mistake Mr. Saker? You write that the whole West had blamed Russia. In fact Germany and France abstained and called for an investigation of the EU. In December 2008 that investigation came to the conclusion that Georgia had started the conflict. That became the official position of Germany and France,
Incredible footage has captured the moment a Royal Navy warship was ‘buzzed’ by 17 Russian fighter jets off the coast of Crimea.
A new Channel 5 documentary captured the dangerous moment as HMS Duncan led a Nato fleet through the Black Sea in May.
‘Buzzing’ is when an aircraft flies fast and low past a building or another vehicle and the Russian fighters were so close to the Type 45 destroyer their electronics could have been scrambled by the ships, which could have caused a crash.
Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson described the incident as ‘brazen hostility’ from Russia while he praised the work done by the flagship, worth around £1billion, and her crew.

Mr Williamson said: ‘Over the past year, HMS Duncan and her crew have embodied the key role the UK plays in Nato.
‘As Nato flagship, she has faced down brazen Russian hostility in the Black Sea with jets buzzing overhead, been stalked by Russian spy ships and played a vital role protecting Nato allies during the British, American and French strikes against Syrian chemical weapons facilities.”

Oh what a coincidence…..tv programme tonight…..rather comes across that absolutely everything is being orchestrated…provenan e established …those crazee Russians that happen to be near ….Crimea.
Thanks for the link to the pre-planned documentary of the Duncan inducing a Russian response in the Black Sea. You don’t do such a film without preparation for all the views and interviews real time. This was a plan the Brits had.
The Brits think they will be met with planes in the Black Sea. Laughable. Missiles will obliterate anything that is a real threat.
Also, no Russian EW counter measures were displayed. Just a lot of aerobatics by various aircraft.
The Duncan would have gone black and dead in the water from Russian EW, then blown to smithereens with missiles and torpedoes if this was a conflict.
Russia played with them. If anything, the Brit super dooper radars are now profiled for Russia, not the other way around.
The bit about Duncan in Med near Syria is interesting too….I suppose uk is only too keen to provide a sacrificial twin pairing with the Donald Cooke ship…..!!!!!
Now what happened to that French frigate during the IDF action…..
Documentary says…the most technologically advanced ship in the world…1 billion cost…loads 45000 toilet rolls…c 300 persons on board….racing to the Black Sea and does not know what Russia’s response will be………potential hostile environment…lets not be under any doubt there are formal relations with Russia…
……..our allies in these areas …taking ship into depths of Black Sea heading to Crimea straight into the lions den….( presumably a provocation JJ)…..
Well ..not said exactly in the same sentance……certainly going to test Russian EWP.Crimean defences….aircraft surveillance satellite surveillance….plane launch times….should be thankful for a fine display of Russian planes…..? OMG the captain looks so naive smiley in her oh so cozy little home from home…engines can generate electricity power equivalent 18000 homes…loads half million litres fuel…..apparently has souvenir ties to give as prezzies….issues condoms for shore leave Dr wants everyone to be safe in port(probably stopped off in Cyprus)…..takes on the role of a nato flagship with fleet 4 ships yes 4……( yes a formation of 4- 5 nato warships heading to Crimea JJ)……going through Bosphorous Duncan is within range of terrorists…(uh nato partner Turkey?)…..a propellor suddenly stops and trips out….captain is pleased to argue with Turkish pilot who is in charge of navigation….sea viper missiles….( hope russian intelliegence is checking this prog out can see monitors working etc)…. alarms go off Russian warship on the horizon….which shadows…..challenges uk right to navigate a warship in this area….man goes overboard exactly at wrong moment…captain conducts rescue op in the fading light….counting crew.. man overboard did not belong to the ship oh it was a tree in the water(hey…thats how the Russians can distract nato ships put logs in the water! JJ)…inevitably the conversation turns to Ruusia in port….Russia is a very serious threat….Russian ship been waiting for them as it leaves port..1..Russian fencer plane flying coupla miles off is an escalation….plane is in the ships way….god I spent an hour watching that? Oh its next week exciting episode when Russian planes appear en masse as obviously Duncan did not get the first hint…..goodnight folks.
Thanks for this JJ ! Really enjoyed it till the last word. You really have talent !
“Bastion says ‘Preved!'”
Big * ^ % # * deal. I would actually rejoice if the Ukronazis achieved their diplomatic ”victory” (from their clever point of view), sparing the decent part of Humanity the embarrassment of another wasted ”meeting” featuring the God-awful criminal in the Offal Office. The Pindo Regime should be hanged from that magnificent bridge — most likely sending a quite convincing little message to the Ukronazis, especially their Navy and pirates.
Following protests from RADA members that Poroshenko was exploiting the position to avoid elections (totally true), martial law will exist for 30 days. And it was oh so convenient that they had a legal document already prepared (just like the PATRIOT Act).
The draught in the Sea of Azov is typically only 7 meters. US military vessels typically need 10+ meters.
The three vessels had sailed from Berdyansk and they had just about enough fuel to reach Mariupol. They would have run out of fuel anyway even if the Russians hadn’t detained them as a menace to shipping. I suspect the bridge may have been deliberately blocked just to make the crazies didn’t get in.
The Ukrainians know the legal procedure for peaceful passage even of military ships. They used it a while back to transfer several military vessels to Mariupol. They have no excuses.
The Americans will come on PT boats, a thousand of them Trump just ordered to recreate more jobs from the 40’s. “Charge!”, the best navy in the world is coming. Don’t start the war without us.
Somehow I picture Joe E. Brown at the tiller on the lead boat.
(sarcasm, folks)
LOL. 445, you and I are dating ourselves by knowing who Joe E. Brown is.
Sigh. Look at a map. Berdyansk is south of Mariupol but on the Azov well north of the Krimu bridge. The ‘ships’ came from Odessa or/and Nikolaiev on the south coast of orcland. The two ‘armored artillery ships’ are little Dnepr River patrol craft, built in orcland and wet even on a smooth river. They are not designed for any kind of a seaway and one almost foundered off Odessa couple years ago during a tatoo of the ‘fleet’.

The Kerch scramble shows to me, in miniature, how the RF will respond to such and future provocations:
Minimum necessary, and legal, defensive force, trying to save most of the lives,
and collecting further hard data to be used to widen their situational awareness.
Very Sun Tzu-ish. RF is mostly concerned how to stay away from pointless holes West is still digging
for variety of entrapments. I am convinced that RF is not even interested to defeat West. V.V. Putin said so
many times. No reason to doubt it. And it is ready to help West to extricate itself from such self-defeating mindset whenever they showed genuine sign of willing to heal.
Best regards, Spiral

An interesting set of posts on the legal issues at stake. Worth checking out.
“Ukraine v Russia, passage through the Kerch strait and Sea of Azov” in three parts:
https://voelkerrechtsblog.org/ukraine-v-russia-passage-through-kerch-strait-and-the-sea-of-azov/
https://voelkerrechtsblog.org/ukraine-v-russia-passage-through-kerch-strait-and-the-sea-of-azov-2/
https://voelkerrechtsblog.org/ukraine-v-russia-passage-through-kerch-strait-and-the-sea-of-azov-3/
Even these Ukie-based lawyers have to admit that no UN or other courts have jurisdiction over disputes in the Sea of Azov because the most recent agreement between Russia and Ukraine does not give over that right. The two countries did agree to notification and data-exchange protocols.
As for “right of innocent Passage”, well, I do not think a case can be made for military boats who do not observe protocol while passing underneath a major infrastructure i.e. bridge even if it was not there when the agreements were made.
Also, making an argument that Mariupol is a major port for international shipping would be ludicrous . Even so, there are ships with the proper draft that still can be used for deliveries.
Sea of Azov is an historic bay and part of the internal waters of Russia/Ukraine–it is a shared bay. The Kersh Strait may not be so–really as both Crimea and Russia are part of the same political entity. Ah, but that is the rub, now, is it not? Crimea.
Both Russia and Ukraine must agree if foreign flagged boats wish to transit the strait according to the agreement currently in force. Claims otherwise are made in ignorance or out of malice.
The legal discussion concludes that Ukraine cannot abrogate the friendship treaty without calling into question their claims to rights of innocent passage for commercial shipping and Ukrainian flagged warships. It also concludes that Ukraine would have difficulty in asserting that their case (for damages and duress caused by Russia’s building of the bridge and restrictions on transit) should be even heard by the tribunal under the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). They are supposed to settle disputes by negotiations between themselves.
Likely one objective of the provocation was an attempt to get help with their legal case when Europe has tired of the whole mess. Of course Poroshenko’s tenuous grip on power over a failed state and the decision to impose marshal law were likely front and center for him.
Outlets like the BBC gave Ukrainian spokespeople (for instance Euan MacDonald at the KP) every opportunity to explain the importance of this ‘latest Russian transgression’ but I doubt that much of anyone of consequence is listening.
If Porky has any illusions about whether the Empire wants to keep him personally and wouldn’t be happy with a replacement, then he should read the history of Ngo Dinh Diem, who was President of South Vietnam before the CIA led his arrest and assassination.
Here’s the link to the Wikipedia version, remembering of course that Wikipedia is heavily edited by the Empire’s Deep State, but it still has the basic facts and can’t ignore the fact that President Diem was killed.

Martial law seems to have been declared only in these areas:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ds9J6xIWoAA_SjA.jpg
These are probably the areas where the receptiveness toward a potential Russian intervention might be highest. Some have mentioned that Russia should have gone in already in 2014 but I believe that would have been a bad idea. It’s usually a very bad idea unless you are sure you have the support of at least a substantial part of the population. In this sense, I find it hard to believe that after nearly 5 years of misery imposed by the criminal kiev regime, the attitude of Ukrainians would not have changed with regard to a possible Russian intervention to end their nightmare. Of course this is just speculation on my part. But I believe that Russia will only go in once they know the reception by the general population will be mostly positive, and only to those areas. To this effect I suppose they must be gauging the mood of Ukrainian people. Martial law of course will allow the criminal regime to be even more criminal in their dealings with their citizens.
I suppose if/when intervention occurs, the foreign elements will be the first to flee out of the country, or at least to the western side of the country. They will be easy targets if the population is against them.
In any case, the mood of the general population will be key in the invaded areas in case of an intervention. And it is hard to believe that most people would not see it as a relief.
Indeed, the prolonged sufferings will create the mood for liberation, that’s a rule of human behavior. That hasn’t changed.
11/16/18 : Alex Jones is pointing at a map of Crimea and explaining Poroshenko’s provocation to his audience. With a retrograde mercury square a Pisces Mars, this is even a worse time to start a war than the last time the Israeli’s ( on a mercury retrograde) tried to invade Lebanon.
This will fall flat with a splat and in a way that the neocon/fascists did not expect…l’affaire Khashoggi is nothing compared to how badly this will turn out for them.
Jake Morphonios’ today’s video “WAR ALERT – Russia & Ukraine Preparing for Full Scale Conflict”, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucni4znC1IU , while providing a decent overview of the Kerch situation, brings to light one particularly interesting piece of information (watch the segment from ~20:15 to ~24:05):
“… just nine days ago, on November 16, US Secretary of State (and former CIA Director) Mike Pompeo met in Washington DC with Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, and they discussed mutual strategic interests regarding countering of Russia. Here is what the State Department put out after that meeting:
[the original US government document is https://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2018/11/287421.htm ; the quote is from the fourth paragraph, subtitled ‘Security and Countering Russian Aggression’]
‘…
The two sides underscored the need to continue building Ukraine’s resilience in the face of Russian aggression, reaffirmed the importance of the Minsk agreements in ending Russia’s aggression, and highlighted the need to restore Ukrainian control over the Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied or controlled by Russia – Crimea and the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Both sides decided that a robust UN-mandated international security force in the areas of Donbas controlled by Russia, including the Ukraine-Russia international border, would create the necessary security conditions for the full implementation of the Minsk Agreements.
The United States reiterated its commitment to Secretary Pompeo’s July 25 Declaration on the non-recognition of Russia’s purported annexation of Crimea.
The United States condemned Russia’s aggressive actions against international shipping transiting the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait to Ukrainian ports. Both sides underscored that Russia’s aggressive activities in the Sea of Azov have brought new security, economic, social, and environmental threats to the entire Azov-Black Sea region.
The United States confirmed its commitment to maintain sanctions against Russia related to its aggression against Ukraine until Russia fully implements the Minsk agreements and returns Crimea to Ukrainian control.
…’
…
Let’s summarise what this is: On November 16, the US State Department/CIA met with the Ukrainian State Department representative, and from that meeting they agreed that it should be the objective of both sides to bring about conditions that would justify a United Nations international military force being put on the border of Russia and used to fight against pro-Russian forces to take back Donetsk, to take back Crimea, and all Donbass area that revolted after the CIA puppet government was installed. And it is right there: they specifically talked about Russia being a threat in the Kerch Strait. And what do you know: nine days later, after this meeting, what happens? The Ukrainian military sends its ships into the Strait – knowing that it would result in a military reaction from Russia. And here we go…”
No UN force will be in Donbass much less on the Russian border.
Any move against Crimea, for God’s sake, will end Europe and the USA.
Just what is publicly known of the military installations and capabilities there would be overwhelming for any massive attack.
Russia would destroy all of NATO, not just Ukraine. And six seconds later, North America would cease to support life.
These “plans” are masturbatory dreams of lunatics.
Better to wait for the Intercosmic Aliens Space Force to come assert authority. Yes, that’s the ticket.
“… Russia would destroy all of NATO, not just Ukraine. And six seconds later, North America would cease to support life. …”
Naturally, in your youthful wishful exuberance, while dreaming that cheerful scenario, you omit the fact that exactly the same fate – and in exactly the same time frame – would also befall the entire European and Asian continents – including Russian Federation.
A UN force has to be approved by the Security Council. Would Russia approve it ? certainly NOT – even more if there is the risk underlined in that article linked by Anonymous, namely ” United Nations international military force being put on the border of Russia and used to fight against pro-Russian forces to take back Donetsk, to take back Crimea,” Or would China approve such thing ? I highly doubt it. It is a concept, laid down on paper and eventually spread, with the objective to test the waters and, of course, provoke reactions.
This dance has been going on for awhile.
IIRC, Putin first proposed a peacekeeping force. He wanted one separating the sides along the truce line that OPCE now fails to enforce.
The Ukraine and Americans then said, sure we want peacekeepers. But we want NATO peacekeepers deployed along the Russian/NovaRussia border to make sure that Novarussia is helpless before even a weak Ukrainian attack.
Given the obvious difference between the two proposals, the situation then stalled. Which is probably what America wanted to deflect Putin’s attempt to try to find a peaceful solution in the area. Of course, if you watch American or Ukraine news, I’m sure all you hear about is their magnificent proposal to put peacekeepers directly onto the Russian border as if it was something that ever had a realistic chance of happening. They’ll keep swinging that club at people for as long as they can.
The provocation is good too keep the Russians on their toes, lest they become complacent ; What I do not quite understand is what does Russia have to lose if they attempt to take the whole Southern litoral of this artifical state some chose to call Ukraine? The sanctions have been in place for over 4 years, with little effect; Russia does not need to outright incorporate this territory on its own. They may chose to give them an intermediary status like Novorussia for a while and them let them chose whether they want to be independent or unite with Russia. Too much restraint, and too much appeasement. Way too much!!! I bet you 2/3 or more of the population would welcome the Russians with open arms. The other 1/3 can beat it to the rump state to be name Galitia.
They would have to feed and care for the area. That costs money.
Ukraine is run down, bad infrastructure and the people are not necessarily industrious.
If it was devoid of population, it would be a possible goal.
It is ideal for tourism, but there would be a guerrilla war waged against it like against Donbass.
So, it really requires what Donbass requires–the complete collapse of the Nazi regime.
Unfortunately, those “people” who you claim “are not necessarily industrious”, and who you believe are not worthy “to feed and care for” (“that costs money”), are in fact all Russians, who live and have lived in that region for centuries. Is it really that Putin & his supporting corrupt super-rich oligarchs are somehow more worthy?… Please.
Apropos of “the complete collapse of the Nazi regime”. Ever since February of 2014 we have been inundated (on this site included) by “learned prognoses” of “imminent collapse” of the Ukro-Nazi regime in Kiev. It was first “no later than three months from now”, then “no later than by the end of 2014”, then it was “in no time”, “very very soon”, “very soon”, then “just be patient”, “don’t question, Putin is so smart, he knows what he is doing”, and … “what do you want, World War III ?” grand touché. And here we are nearing the end of 2018.
By the way, why do you hang around for 4 years at this site if you don’t like the commenters and articles?

Oh the weeping and the hand wringing from this Brit communicator moved to Kiev –
“In this dark hour, where are Ukraine’s allies?”
https://www.kyivpost.com/article/opinion/op-ed/jack-laurenson-in-this-dark-hour-where-are-ukraines-allies.html
“Faced with overt and undeniable Russian military aggression, tantamount to a declaration of war by all reasonable interpretations of international law, Ukraine’s allies have so far failed to respond in an adequate way.
For all the talk of upholding Ukrainian sovereignty and defending its territorial integrity, supporting European integration and the importance of Ukraine as NATO’s eastern flank: what are Ukraine’s allies doing, when it really matters?
It takes 30 seconds and 90 characters to issue a strongly-worded condemnation on Twitter. It’s easy, quick and it has almost no value.
But for every single G7 country and NATO member state, it’s all they’ve been able to muster so far, after Russia attacked Ukrainian navy vessels in neutral waters, gunned down, wounded and captured their sailors and illegally seized their vessels on Nov. 25.
Warning about the prospect of further aggression from Russia, even a full-scale invasion of eastern Ukraine as tanks, troops and aircraft reportedly mass near the Ukrainian border, lawmakers in Kyiv put in place martial law on Nov. 26 and the fear and uncertainty here in the Ukrainian capital is palpable.
And still, Western leaders seem incapable or unwilling to do little more than draft strongly-worded statements. As Europe’s largest country comes under attack, the silence from the leaders of Ukraine’s most important allied countries is absolutely deafening.
…”
Nobody really loves us, sob sob.
I would think the palpable fear in Kiev might actually be what happens next as a result of martial law….and all change? Who is this idiot guy who is paying him….one wonders.
Dear friends,

Martial law basically is going to be open hunting season for the oligarchs to plunder and for the Nazis to beat, steal, terrorize everyday Ukrainians. From the Maidan to martial law in four years.

It’s total trolling and worthless material.

Some western pundit provocateurs have suggested that Ukraine should blow up the bridge – kind of like saying “hey buddy, why don’t you go rob that bank for me, I’ll support you 100%”. The US could not afford to be implicated in such foolishness and would never trust the Ukrainians with such a device (if it exists). The Ukrainians are not capable of pulling off such a stunt either, even if they wished to, besides the fact that it would be committing national suicide (well, they are doing that already but this would be leaping off a bridge, so to speak, rather than just taking slow poison.
Pardon my ignorance, but on the face of it, it seems Kiev should have a right to sail ships to Mariupol. One analogous precedent would be the manner in which Turkey handles the Dardanelles Strait. If Russian ships can pass through Turkey, Ukraine ships should be able to pass through Russia. Does anyone know the protocol imposed by Turkey on the entrance to the Black Sea itself?
That in mind, one might ask if Russia over-reacted, and why. Hal Turner speculates the Ukrainian ships may have carried a nuclear device to blow up the Kerch Bridge. Of course, it is highly likely Ukraine is trying to destroy the bridge. In that case, Russia had to act as it did.
Not a troll folks. Just asking questions (is that still allowed among alternate thinkers?). TBH, I don’t understand this incident, why it is called a provocation, nor whether it really was intended as a provocation. If I were Kiev, I’d like to know exactly what my rights are, and to know that, I would have to test them in just this way. — quemadoinstitute.org
Hah! I actually found someone who agrees with my question! (A rare phenomenon these days.) They too are asking why Russia reacted so harshly:
“What strikes me about this incident is the lengths the Russians went to in stopping one Ukrainian tugboat and two small gunboats. The passage under the Kerch bridge was blocked by a large cargo ship. Two each Su-25 aircraft and Ka-52 attack helicopters flew overhead. The surface fleet consisted of several Sobol and Mangust class fast patrol craft, and a Svetlak class corvette. That tugboat was not going to pass through the Strait or get close to that new Crimean Bridge. Was there more to this than a mere provocation or coordination SNAFU?”
The article goes on to quote speculation about a nuclear device. See:
http://stateofthenation2012.com/?p=109176
But if this is true, why didn’t Russia just say so? Is anyone else here asking these questions?
Because of the disputed status of Crimea and the bridge itself, not to mention Ukrainian behavior over the past 4 years, the Russians are understandably sensitive about any uncoordinated approach to the strait. There is an established protocol which the Ukrainian boats refused to follow and the Russians acted accordingly. For a discussion of the legal status of the strait and the Azov sea see the links posted above.
Its only Ukraine and the west who consider Crimea’s status to be disputed.
For me, its pretty clear. Russia did annex Crimea. IIRC, it happened in 1793 or thereabouts under Catherine the Great. That was when George Washington had just become President of the United States and Thomas Jefferson was his Secretary of State.
I’m still waiting for someone to show me any outraged statements from Washington or Jefferson about Russia annexing Crimea. If people who are considered wise leaders of the nation and such heroes that their faces are on Mount Rushmore didn’t object to Russia annexing Crimea when it happened, I don’t see why we should get upset about it now when 96% of the people who live in Crimea voted for it to occur.
Correct, but I would like to add to the following:
There were three wars between Russia vs the Turkey, Britain, and some other lesser players supporting the Brits. Russia won the final war, and this put an end to Turkish Krim (Crimea) occupation and British plans to control it. Brits were desperate to control the Dardanelles, which would let them control the Black Sea and Caucasus underbelly. Hollywood made a movie, and I am not about to look for the title, which was something like “The attack of the light brigade”. Notice the “light” in the title, to show that Russians defeated them only because they were “light”. See, the horse $hit never stops. What we are seeing today is simply a remake of those events (Brits take back seat here), except that Russia beat them to it and got Krim back before USofA’s plans came to any fruition.
In my opinion, all the noise the West make is just “pile of bovine manure”, Russia will hold on to it, and more when the time comes, and the West can’t do anything about it but squeal.
Just like in those days, the solution is at the end of the bayonet, nothing else matters.
What is so hard to understand ? the Ukrainian military ships have been asked by the Russians to behave in a legal way, providing the the necessary information regarding their objectives to pass through Russian waters with the scope to arrive (probably) in the Ukrainian ports in the Sea of Azov. The Russians would have escorted them, but the Ukrainians have refused any contact with the Russians. In these circumstances, what should have the Russians do ? This very move of the Ukrainian vessels was highly suspect for any Border Guard in the world. It was a provocation.
Ukraine has been able to sail ships, including military to and from Maripol. They’ve done it within the last few months. They did it by complying with the Russian safety regulations for traffic and security. When Ukraine has followed the rules, they have successfully sailed ships through the Kerch Strait. The difference this time was that they blatantly violated those rules. Including several hours of ignoring Russian coast guard commands to stop and turn around.
Remember, hotheads in both Ukraine and the US have argued for blowing up that bridge that provides both transportation and power links to Crimea. The obvious way to try to blow up the bridge is with a ship filled with explosives. It is very reasonable in such circumstances that the Russians control and inspect the traffic. And actions like parking an empty tanker to protect the bridge when warships controlled by the same hotheads don’t follow the rules and ignore orders to stop and sail straight for the bridge.
The rules sound pretty simple to follow. You apply in advance. For traffic control, you are then given a particular time slot to pass through the bridge. Like with any harbor or restricted waters, you allow a local pilot on board to control the ship through the waters they know very well.
The Ukrainians had a copy of the rules on board the ships. So, they knew the procedure, and they had done it successfully before. They of course knew they’d be challenged by the Russians when they blatantly broke those rules. This was an obvious provocation. It was an obvious provocation aimed at giving Porky the excuse to declare martial law and try to save his very unpopular political campaign.
These rules were not agreed to. The standing agreement signed by both parties in 2004 gives Ukraine ships, including military, free passage in these waters. Since the bridge was built Russia unilaterally imposed restrictions, breaking the agreement. Ukraine has sued in international court and the case will be heard in 2019. This episode likely helps their case
Ukraine lost this fight in 2014 when the elected president was overthrown in a violent coup backed by outsiders. This provocation was pushed by outsiders and the zombie president and will have zero effect on the current status.
Peter Korzun proposes there’s a “hidden agenda” beyond the obvious. Here’s the meat:
“What has prompted Kiev’s actions? It was the backing of the West. On Oct. 25, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the Azov Sea to express its support of Ukraine. On Nov. 19, UN [SIC, EU] High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini stated that the EU foreign ministers had discussed taking relevant ‘targeted measures’ against Russia due to the situation in the Azov Sea. The US continues to expand its military assistance to Ukraine. The US already has a military facility in Ochakovo. Once the Oliver H. Perry-class frigates arrive in Ukraine, they will be followed by American naval instructors. The US presence and military infrastructure will gradually expand. Great Britain is doing the same thing.
“The West’s support is encouraging Ukraine to escalate the tensions. Ukraine’s Constitutional Court has just okayed an amendment to proclaim NATO and EU memberships as official foreign-policy goals. If approved by parliament, the Minsk accords will then become null and void, because Russia originally agreed to comply with them on the condition that Ukraine remain a neutral state.”
Yes, a “shallow think tanker” envisaged a glimmer of hope with this provocation, and the possibility exists that a full-blown crisis will evolve. IMO, if Ukraine were about to join NATO, it would quickly cease to exist as Ukraine and NATO would indeed be faced with an extremely enraged Bear it couldn’t possibly defeat

What an amazing coincidence!
“What an amazing coincidence!”
It’s actually irrelevant. The regions stipulated to come under martial law were coastal and Russian bordering.
Apparently there is some “memo” out about avoiding the larger picture of who controls ukraine and benefits from ukrainian provocations against Russia, and instructing to instead, concentrate on making this just some self initiated poroshenko thing for his own sake.
It’s called misdirection.
One thing that hasn’t been discussed very much is the threats both from Ukies and US politicians to destroy the Kerch bridge.
Probably the easiest way to do that would be to deposit a Barnes Wallis style Dambusters bomb or mine to rest on the sea bed under the bridge on a timer and blow it up, with the underwater explosion magnifying the blast. This could be dropped from something like the tug used in this incident.
I don’t know the physics of this, but the Russians may have suspected the Ukies were up to something along these lines.
Even I, josephine average here in the US, know Poroshenko pulled this stunt because he is going to lose the election, knows it. and does not want to go. Maybe Trump and Putin can laugh it off.
“On the other hand Mutti, who is just as subservient to her industrialists as she is to Langley, knows she’s dead meat if she bungles Nord Stream 2. Those days are rapidly coming to and end.”
Well said Auslander. And spot on too. But Mutti Merkel is as sly as Putin is, there is no doubt there is an understanding of what Germany needs and what it does not need.
But the unneeded American GI’s in Germany will take skill to get rid off, maybe popular demand will do it in the end. The Eastern European states are all corrupt American puppet states, but they will succumb to Brussels will, when the going gets tough, as it is the north European states that produce the money.
Once Denmarks mini Trumpf, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, is dislodged we will once again get a Social democratic led cabinet and then, who knows. Danes generally are as stupid and ignorant as the Americans, but Danish women are much more pretty. I am probably one of the few last Danes with an IQ over 70, but I choose to live in Sweden. Here people are even more to the side…
“In the land of the blind, the one eyed is king”
Now NATO has no businesses in the Black Sea or the Sea of Azov. But Perfidious Albion thinks otherwise. I hope the Brits provoke the Bear openly and their piece of shit ship is sunk, preferably with loss of all hands. We on the mainland are very tired of this particular lot of people, I do hope they get a bloodied nose, as the British populace are unwilling to hang their own corrupt leaders. A good hanging is always a good thing and their parliament is too big anyway, and is useless, ohh and they also have HOL there is a good lot to pick off too. But make it public, a ferris wheel , carousels, and allsorts of Brighton stuff. And a good place to picnic with the kids too…
In South hamton, they could toss the tossers from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier (it has no planes , plenty of room) and peeps on the docks could gaze in wonderment.
Live stream to pay for the event, Britain will make millions.
Yep…Nuland’s plan certainly turned out well all right…Not!!!

From the article: „Finally, let me address those who might think that Russia somehow over-reacted or should not have used force.“
Russia was merely guarding Russian borders, nothing more, nothing less. This was not a military aggression at all; rather, it was essentially a police-style action.
Thus, if the West is going to punish Russia for guarding Russian borders, that is a sure way to further escalation, if not war.
But what is conspicuously missing from the article is that the Russian response was well-measured.
And the real reason why Russia responded in this manner, was previous seizure of Russian ships by Ukraine, which, along with selling their booty, strongly resemble classical piracy.
So far, Russia does not seem to be planning to auction off the seized Ukrainian ships.
First of all, Ukraine has a real issue. There are big problems with access to the port of Mariupol. Not only Ukraine is complaining about that. Dutch sailors have confirmed their complaints: you either have to pay bribes or you can spend hours or days waiting before you are allowed to pass the Kerch Strait. In 19 november the European ministers had a meeting where the issue was discussed. Reports are that the activity in the Ukrainian Azov harbors is down by 45% and that has fueled rumors that Russia is aiming to completely control the sea and have another try on Mariupol.
After the incident my impression was that NATO reacted very fast supporting Ukraine while Western politicians were hesitant. It gives me the impression that this was planned by NATO and the Ukrainian government together. NATO can so torpedo the Trump-Putin meeting and put pressure on Europe to maintain and increase sanctions while Poroshenko got his opportunity for introducing martial law.
It is unclear whether the transit under the bridge has been restored. The big ship has gone away. But some reports say that only ships going to Russian harbors are allowed to pass.

in addressing the three areas of battle. Russia should make firm notice to vassals of the American regime that if Russia is attacked that all American bases, no matter what country they are in, are immediate targets to be eliminated. the most important areas are the Nazi-uke’s and the middle east, the south china sea is secondary along with the first 2 areas ,all aircraft groups must be eliminated. the main bases to take out are the ones in turkey along with Bahrain and Kuwait ,then European bases . these bases are in very poorly defended areas and fairly easily destroyed as most American bases are. once the regimes air umbrella is gone they have nothing to respond with.
