Translation and forword by Anatolii Karlin
Xi Jinping penned an op-ed in a Russian newspaper on May 6th in which, in stark contrast to the typical Western bile and hostility, he acknowledges the role of the Soviet Union in defeating Nazism and warns off against attempts to revise that outcome, be it on paper or in real life.
I am translating it in full for two reasons.
First, it constitutes a first-hand glance at official relations between China and Russia, which – much to the consternation of neocons, Russophobes, Sinophobes, and Western imperialists – are instead of fighting each other for make benefit of the US are instead building strong relations and continuing to ink dozens of deals whose total value now probably stands at close to a trillion dollars.
Second, to explicitly give the lie to Western propaganda that Russia is somehow “isolated” by the fact that none of Washington’s European stooges turned up at the Victory Day parade in Moscow this May 9th. Who cares? Not many Russians, at any rate. China, India, and dozens of other countries did turn up. That’s the world’s second superpower and the representatives of half of humanity. As for Obama, Merkel, Hollande, and Dave – quite frankly, the air is cleaner for their absence.
To Remember History, To Open the Future
by Xi Jinping
On May 9th, Victory Day in the world war against fascism, at the invitation of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, I will visit Russia and take part in the celebrations in Moscow devoted to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This sacred day I will celebrate together with the Russian people and the entire world.
Everyone remembers that the aggressive wars begun by the fascists and militarists inflicted unprecedented damage and suffering on the peoples of China, Russia, and the countries of Europe, Asia, and other parts of the world. The relentless struggle between justice and evil, light and darkness, freedom and slavery, was joined by the peoples of China, Russia, and more than 50 other countries, as well as by all the other peace-loving peoples of the world, who stood up as one and formed a broad international anti-fascist and anti-militarist front. All these nations fought in bloody battles against the enemy, and in so doing defeated the most evil and brutal aggressors, bringing peace to the world.
I remember, in March 2013, when I first visited Russia on a state visit, I laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin walls. There was a depiction of a soldier’s helmet and a red banner on the tomb, and there burned an eternal fire, symbolizing the unbroken life and unwavering fearlessness of our fallen heroes. “Your name is unknown, your deeds are immortal.” They will never be forgotten by the Russian people, the Chinese people, or anyone else.
China was the main theater of military operations in Asia during the Second World War. The Chinese people stood up before anyone else in the struggle against the Japanese militarists, waged the longest war, fought in the hardest conditions, and, like Russia, suffered the most enormous losses. The Chinese army and people fought stoically and persistently, locking down and destroying numerous contingents of the Japanese aggressors. At the cost of a huge national sacrifice – the lives of more than 35 million people – a great victory was finally won and an enormous contribution was made to victory in the world struggle against fascism. The exploits of the Chinese people in the war against the militarists, just like the exploits of the Russian people, will be immortalized forever in history and will never die.
The Chinese and Russian peoples supported each other, helped each other, they were comrades in arms in the war against fascism and militarism, and built a friendship with each other forged with blood and life. In the most difficult times of the Great Patriotic War, many of the best sons and daughters of the Chinese people decisively joined in the battle against German fascism. Mao Anying – the eldest son of Chairman Mao Zedong – fought on many battles as a political officer of a tank company of the 1st Belorussian Front, up to the storming of Berlin. The Chinese fighter pilot Tang Duo, as deputy commander of a fighter company of the Soviet Army, distinguished himself in air battles against the fascist forces. Children of the leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and descendants of the fallen heroes of the Chinese Revolution, when studying at the Ivanovo international boarding school, despite that they were still only children, nonetheless went off to dig trenches, prepared Molotov cocktails, prepared food and clothes for the fighters, chopped trees, dug out potatoes, and looked after the wounded in hospitals. Apart from that, many of them regularly donated blood – 430 millilitres once per month for the soldiers at the front. The Chinese female journalist Hu Jibang, small and weak, underwent the entire war from the first day to the last, through bullets and fire, writing about the resilience and courage of the Soviet people, the barbarous cruelty of the fascist hordes, and the joy of the Russian soldiers and people in their times of triumph. It emboldened the armies and peoples of both countries, raising their will to fight to the end, to the final victory. Alongside the above heroes there are many other representatives of the Chinese people who contributed to the Great Patriotic War while remaining unknown soldiers.
The Russian people gave the Chinese people valuable political and moral support in their war against Japanese invaders. This included large convoys of arms and war material. More than 2,000 Soviet fighter pilots joined the Chinese air force and helped in the air battles over China. More than 200 of them died in battles over Chinese soil. In the closing phase of the war, Red Army soldiers of the Soviet Union were sent to north-east China. Together with the Chinese army and people they fought against the Japanese militarists, which helped China tremendously in achieving final victory. The Chinese people will always remember the Russians, both soldiers and civilians, who gave their lives for the independence and liberation of the Chinese nation.
The famous Russian historian Vasily Klyuchevsky said, that, having forgotten history, our soul can get lost in the darkness. To forget history is to commit treason. The Chinese and Russian peoples stand ready, together with all peace-loving countries and peoples, and with the automost determination and decisiveness, to oppose any actions or attempts to deny, distort, and rewrite the history of the Second World War.
This year, China and Russia will hold a series of events to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War. There will also be many other events conducted by the UN and other international and regional organizations. The purpose of these events and celebrations is to demonstrate our determination to defend the results of the Second World War, to protect international equality and justice, and to remind out contemporaries that it is necessary to preserve and guard the peace that was won for humanity at too high a price.
The hard lessons of the Second World War tell people, that humanity’s coexistence is not subject to the laws of the jungle; that world politics is diametrically contradictory to belligerent and hegemonic power politics; and that the path of human development is not founded on the principle of “winner takes all” or in games with zero-sum outcomes. Peace – yes, war – no, cooperation – yes, confrontation – no, mutual gains are honored, while zero-sum results – are not: This is what constitutes the unchanging core and essence of peace, progress, and the development of human society.
Today, mankind has unprecedentedly good opportunities for the realization of our goal – peace, development, and the formation of a system of international relations that is ever more strongly based on the spirit of cooperation and mutual benefits. “Unity – is strength, while self-isolation – is weakness.” Cooperation and the win-win principle should be adopted as the basic orientation of all countries in international affairs. We have to unite our own interests with the common interests of all countries, find and expand on the common points of interests of different parties, develop and establish a new conception of multilateral win-win, to always be ready to extend a helping hand to each other at difficult times, to partake together of rights, interests, and responsibilities, and to collectively collaborate to solve growing global problems such as climate change, energy security, cybersecurity, national disasters, and so on. In short, we are in it together on our planet Earth – the homeland of all humanity.
The Chinese people and the Russian people – they are both great peoples. In the years of grief and misery, our indestructible camaraderie was cemented in place with blood. Today the peoples of China and Russian will hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder defend peace, promote development, and make their contributions to lasting world peace and human progress.
Awesome – Russia and China – hand to hand, shoulder to shoulder and ‘heart to heart’.
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-05-11/white-house-denies-it-fabricated-bin-laden-killing-says-hersh-report-riddled-inaccur
Instead, as AP reports, the White House has decided to continue its reality challenged ways and has dismissed as “untrue” Hersh’s entire 10K plus word report on what really happened in Abbattobad.
Things must be beyond desperate when even Hersh is peddling blatant BS about where/when Binny really died.
Probably tied in to that news today about the 4 Arab countries bowing out last minute for that meeting planned a while back for later this week.
http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2015/05/11/seymour-hersh-succumbs-disinformation-paul-craig-roberts/
Seymour Hersch has been criticized for not ever, ever saying anything negative about a Democratic administration. I have not verified this myself, but reliable sources have claimed this is a shortcoming of his.
Penelope, your reliable sources are unreliable.
Here are some of his best.
Telling the story about Obama lying about killing OBL = Democrats
Obama lying about Syria gas weapons = Democrats
My Lai Massacre March 1968, Johnson = Democrats
Nixon excused the massacre top brass and protected the sick weasel Calley. = Republicans
Hersh’s contacts are deep inside the Intel and Military. There are people who have always given him the facts. He is fair and methodical.
No one likes him except those who want the truth. That’s good enough for me.
The fact that he no longer writes for the New Yorker tells you that the Cult Leftists have ruined that magazine too.
Sy Hersh is the last man standing in American journalism.
Maybe Hersh has changed is has lost some objectivity, or he is lying for some hidden purpose.
(Heck … maybe he is still alive, in some well staffed retirement home for ex-CIA assets?)
Maybe the people who told him don’t know — was kept secret from them.
Maybe they lied to him, or his sources are not the same ones he had. .
Maybe something else — some ‘alternative reality’ in the Matrix?
I’m just going to ‘push this onto the stack’ of things I’ve seen, and save it for when I think it’s significant to come to some decision or action. In the meantime it can just hand there, like the story that Bin Laden died in 2001, which may be true.
All of these kinds of stories are so laden with intrigue and power I don’t like to take any of them as ‘gospel’ — at least without a good reason to invest confidence in them. But I can take the lot of them in a collective weighting to to make a judgement on the overall conditions — such as saying with confidence that anything the imperialists or fascist media says cannot — should not — be trusted.
In any case, Hersh may not be taken as an unfailing impeccable source, but he should never be ignored.
Osama definitely died in 2001-2. The fake Osama ‘lookalikes’ didn’t even look too much alike after a while, but the MSM is selectively deaf, dumb and blind. It’s reminiscent of the al-Zaqawi ‘al-Qaeda in Iraq’ wheeze, where al-Zaqawi described by Colon Bowel as an lower limb amputee, mysteriously re-surfaced in Iraq, having grown his leg back! When he’d outlived his usefulness, he too was ‘terminated with extreme prejudice’, just like fake Osama No. ?.
Come on, Seymour Hersh is controlled opposition. There was no need for him to write an article – long as a Dostoyevsky novel – on CIA-asset Osama bin Laden’s death that answers no questions but raises much dust. A sad joke.
zweistein
I have to agree. Hersh is a very talented and long winded controlled opposition reporter. He is very good at making support for the establishment status quo look like oppositional criticism of it. His book on the downing of KAL 007 is a classic case of this.
Bin Laden died years before Obama was even elected.
The head of the CIA Bin Laden team that supposedly got Bin Laden was the biggest liar on the face of the Earth- Michael J. Morell.
Michael J. Morell, is the CIA agent that sat with Colin Powell personally for several days going over the “evidence” the CIA had that Saddam “had WMD”. This was done to prepare Powell’s disastrous speech, “Saddam Has WMD” that Powell gave before the entire world, February 2003.
The “official” Obama (Michael J. Morell) version has them:
Throwing the body immediately overboard to the bottom of the ocean Mafia-style !
.
Hello…
.
The pictures were immediately (“nine days after the mission” if the Pentagon is to be trusted) ordered destroyed or turned over to the CIA – forever out of reach of the public.
.
Hello…
.
The ubiquitous helmet-cameras, found even on minor patrols in Afghanistan, that were at first heralded after the mission…
.
“never existed”.
.
The witnesses, the Seals, were ordered to be silent forever.
.
The DNA was handled by the CIA.
.
So what is the “official” story?
.
Empty.
NBC backs up Hersh’s report on Paki walk-in assisting the US on the OBL raid.
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-05-12/nbc-confirms-obama-lied-about-bin-laden-raid
They offer additional “sources” who validate the more truthful version.
An aside: since Obama has never told the truth about anything, why would anyone believe him about the OBL story?
(Thinking out loud…)
Pakistani Intelligence (ISI) could have been in on the whole thing, really depends upon what was actually taking place.
It wasn’t about killing someone (Bin Laden) who was already dead – had been dead for years.
So what was it actually about?
The first person to die in the raid upon the compound in Abbottabad was who? A prime target?
It is reported that the first person to die was the courier (“Bin Laden’s courier”), recently released after years in Guantanamo Concentration Camp.
Important consideration – who had been making those phony “Bin Laden Tapes” that we all know well about? – ISI, CIA? The channel for releasing the tapes to the public was the Mossad asset SITE. Where was the actor that starred in those tapes and what was his current role?
It is a given that the CIA, ISI, Mossad would want to usurp al Qaeda. If the CIA could plug a fake Bin Laden into the al Qaeda network they could manipulate it, gather intelligence from it.
The courier they had released from Guantanamo was that means “to plug in”. If the courier could be convinced he was receiving instructions from Bin Laden and ISI controlled the fake Bin Laden then…success!
So was the compound at Abbottabad built to create a ISI/CIA controlled al Qaeda headquarters?
The CIA said that they monitored the communication of the courier. Did they learn he was not fooled by the fake Bin Laden in the compound at Abbottabad? If they learned he was not fooled then the whole operation was a bust and had to be shut down. Thus the raid.
The omnipresence of SITE and the hideous Rita Katz in releasing jihadist tapes to this day, which they mysteriously ‘discover’ before any other media investigators screams Mossad disinfo, but, naturally, no MSM reptile dare notice, lest their well-paid job disappears in a foaming spit-storm of accusations and denunciations of ‘antisemitism’ (TM).
Obama enjoys lying as much as he enjoys picking out which villages are to be leveled by drone missile. He’s a once in many years psychopath. No wonder he stood out in college as a valuable future asset.

Riyadh Likely to Execute Opposition Figure, European Diplomats Say
May 10, 2015 – 16:49
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Unnamed European diplomatic sources said Saudi Arabia intends to carry out the death sentence of prominent Shiite cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, who has been in detention for nearly three years on political charges.
Sheikh Nimr was detained in July 2012 following demonstrations that erupted in the country’s Qatif region. He is accused of delivering anti-regime speeches and defending political prisoners.
His arrest sparked widespread protests in the Arab country.
In October 2014, Sheikh Nimr’s family reported that a Saudi judge has found him guilty of “sedition” and sentenced him to death.
“He is accused of delivering anti-regime speeches and defending political prisoners.”
So in the minds of the US allied Saudi regime that is worthy of the death penalty.Hopefully this will wake up the World to the absolute necessity of ending that regime once and for all.Any and all aid the Iranians and any others can give to the Shia rebels in Saudi Arabia is needed. That despotic Wahhabi regime needs to go.
thanks, great op-ed!
I like the fact that we get to hear different points of view here. This is not something we would read about normally if one doesn’t speak Russian or Chinese. It’s not only the English speaking world that counts.
I had not known there was so much cooperation between Russia and China during the war. Very interesting. And an excellent commentary.
It seems that the leaders of this new century are proceeding in a good and honourable manner without explicitly focusing on the underlying elements that festered and then financed two global conflagrations, God Speed.
My relatives went to China to fight in the boxer rebellion. One had his head cut off. Don’t know all the details of the story my mother told me .
President Xi quotes Vasily Klyuchevsky. Awesome!
As any reader of this speech can feel is the depth of friendship Chinese feel for Russians. Nothing counts more toward Chinese affinity for others than the sacrifices, actions to help and shared struggle.
Their fondness for Koreans, Mongolians, Pakistanis, Singaporeans, and Russians are linked deeply in that manner. All it takes is one good person, famously, an American, or a German, someone who helped in their time of need and the Chinese embrace the entire nation from where the “hero” came.
Since so many Russians have long established roots in China, the opportunities of being part of China’s heart is myriad.
We are seeing the fruits of that emotional attachment as Russia is pressured. China is there, all in, not for the moment, not short term. China and Russia will work together for many generations.
It’s a beautiful thing to see two very different civilizations stand together.
this is true as they have really honoured Canadian Norman Bethune for his work in China.

There is a not inconsiderable history among the children of successful, prominent Jewish families of getting involved in leftwing politics. From the Marxes to the Milibands, it’s a well-trodden path. Few have taken this tradition quite as far, however, as Sidney Rittenberg, scion of a prominent Jewish family in Charleston, South Carolina.
It was in the 1930s that Rittenberg rejected a career as a lawyer and became a trade union and civil rights activist. He then went a little further. He became a communist, learnt Chinese, went to China, joined Mao Zedong’s guerrillas fighting Chiang Kai-shek’s nationalists, emerged after the communist victory as a senior party member close to Mao, ran Radio Peking, translated Mao’s thoughts into English, became a leading rabble rouser in the Cultural Revolution – and, by the by, was imprisoned for 16 years in solitary confinement, accused of being a US spy. Then he came back to the US and made a fortune advising American companies on how to get into China.

Edgar Snow’s ‘Red Star over China’ was my favourite reading in high school. It was an adventure story of the most compelling kind. Mao was surrounded by heroes, great men, determined, clever, fearless, most of whom he later purged. Still, he liberated China and made it stand again, to the West’s undying chagrin.
“the path of human development is not founded on the principle of “winner takes all””
Surprisingly blunt for China and perhaps it has to be to get through those thick skulls.
I think we all know where that message is aimed.
Neocons take note and call your Pyatt and Nuland dogs of war off -or else.
@ SanctuaryOne,

Thanks for posting this. If they were prodent, it would strike the fear of the Lord into the western neocon hearts. But they still don’t get it. They still think they can bully, bluff and lie. They don’t realize yet that the jig is up. What will it take for them to understand that?

Neo-cons do not have respect for others. It goes to the excellent article here Exceptionalists vs Integrationalists: The Eurasian-Wide Struggle, by Andrew Korybko . They have contempt for everyone except their “exceptional” selves.
Neo-conservatism is a Judaic phenomenon, amongst that type of Jew who believe in the literal truth of the ‘Chosen People’ garbage. These creatures, like certain orthodox and ultra-orthodox, believe emphatically that Jews are a higher order of Creation, with ‘more precious souls’, than non-Jews.
They will never understand.
And if we don’t understand that they will never understand, then we are fools!
Only if we understand that they will never understand, can we act responsibly.
(A different example: only idiots waste their time reasoning with drunkards.)
Someone let us all know when they sight that frenchie carrier–it’s gotta be out there somewhere.
(supposedly it’s in the M.E. somewhere, (press was it was going to ‘aid Iraq in fighting ISIS’!) but that’s a big area.)
Nearly 20 warships representing nine member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have commenced the Baltic Fortress 2015 military drills in waters off the Lithuanian Baltic Sea coast.
Naval vessels from Britain, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Norway are taking part in the war games, which began Monday along with a Lithuanian Navy submarine unit and two military aircraft and are due to continue in Lithuanian territorial waters until May 14, according to Lithuania’s Ministry of National Defense as cited in an RT report.

A 2016 Republican presidential candidate has declared that a US military attack against Russia would be possible in the future in order to protect the American people.
“If the interest and the existence and the safety of the people of the United States was at stake – and that was the only way to protect them – of course, I would do whatever was necessary,” Ben Carson said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday when asked about the use of military force against Moscow.
He’s just spouting off.Not that I disagree that they would if they could get away with it.I’m just saying that that particular “candidate” has a “snowballs chance in hell” of being elected President in the US.Especially by the Republican Party voters. He was taking his “15 minutes of fame” to make a name for himself in the press.
Pindo drivel
Void and trivial
Fox News — not even worth contempt or ridicule.
Uncle Ben is of the same ilk as Uncle Clarence Thomas and Uncle Obama-that is a ‘House Negro’ in Malcolm X’s parlance.
Forbes Rates, “Most Powerful People in the World” with Putin World’s Most Powerful Person, and then has this to say about him:
“We took some heat last year when we named the Russian President as the most powerful man in the world, but after a year when Putin annexed Crimea, staged a proxy war in the Ukraine and inked a deal to build a more than $70 billion gas pipeline with China (the planet’s largest construction project) our choice simply seems prescient. Russia looks more and more like an energy-rich, nuclear-tipped rogue state with an undisputed, unpredictable and unaccountable head unconstrained by world opinion in pursuit of its goals.”

The level of both lies and ignorance on the web is astounding.
I just left a response at the article http://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2015/05/11/410476/US-war-Russia-possible-candidate to someone who said the west is Marxist — someone with no knowledge at all about Marx, etc., who was complaining about the candidate lacking any expertise (in politics) and spouting stupidity. Even with so much good information, college level courses, and original writing concerning Marx available.
Why don’t people look stuff up and work on educating themselves before writing such nonsense? Is this just trolling or propaganda, or is it the result of lousy early education and media claptrap lowering the level of knowledge and thinking? Just ‘stupidity’ or human ‘monkey brains’? I’m not sure what’s going on here, but it’s all over. How long does it take to even just read a few pages at Wikipedia or similar on Marx and Marxism?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9Whccunka4 is an hour and half video on it in current practical terms from a professional economics professor. Is 1 1/2 hours too long to learn the basics of such an important subject?
There is also an intensive course at http://www.rdwolff.com/content/advanced-applied-marxian-economics-intensive-course and a fuller course at his site too.
More is at http://www.marxism.org.uk/
This stuff is free! University level material without even tuition, and also free books, including the three volumes of ‘Capital’, for free. It’s like someone being in NY’s Chinatown on a day where all the food is free, and eating a piece of hot dog you find laying on the street. It’s a mystery to me. What’s the point of staying ignorant?
“The level of both lies and ignorance on the web is astounding.”
True.
But would you expect anything more from a species, where, for example, the main reason posited for the re-election of the UK Tories is that the Labour party did not attract the aspirational middle classes.
Yes, most aspire to be the billionaire and they don’t care what that niche group do in their name either…”your country needs you” (rather, they do care – they support it: I can see Hague/Cameron rubbing their majority hands together as we speak – “let’s bomb Syria, no pesky Galloway to worry about now”).
I don’t imagine the growing Russian / Chinese middle classes are any less “conservative” than the “Conservatives”.
It is called “negative selection”.
If you want to make a career in the West, be it in politics, academics, banking, charity, education, etc. you have to spout the most absurd nonsense on a daily basis. Only this way are you able impress the overlords: “Look there, a willful idiot! He can cheat, lie, boss people around without remorse nor after-thought. Lets promote him!”
To be fair to the British electorate,
1. The British Labour party is bloody useless, and
2. In any case, Labour’s share of the vote grew by 3.6% this election, the Conservatives’ only by 1.8% or something. It was the way that divided up by ridings that gave the Cons their majority. First-past-the-post has its shortcomings as an electoral system.
The Tories triumphed with 24% of the eligible electorate, and a lesser swing to themselves than Labour gained, because 3% changed at the last moment to vote for austerity and social sadism- but definitely not for themselves. For the weak, the poor, the disabled. A nasty society about to grow even nastier.
OT,
Yesterday someone [don’t take this personal, I simply haven’t got time to go find your comment] mentioned Mr. Putin and judo in a comparison as to how the President deals with MSM’s verbal onslaught. I would like to change that to Mr. Putin’s verbal aikido.
Still ‘do’ [the way of] but with a different ‘twist.’
*As for Obama, Merkel, Hollande, and Dave – quite frankly, the air is cleaner for their absence.*
good riddance, those !@#$%! reeks of sulphur !

China Paper Slams Japan for Lack of WW2 Contrition
May10 news
The official newspaper of China’s ruling Communist Party said on Sunday, following war commemorations in Moscow, German contrition over World War Two stands in contrast to Japan’s failure to reflect on its past. Sino-Japan relations are plagued by China’s bitter memories of Japan’s occupation of parts of the country before and during World War Two. A
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gJHo963VAs
Under US occupation, in both West Germany and Japan, de-Nazification and de-militarisation in Japan were utterly superficial. The US soon reinstalled the Nazis in power in Germany and fascists in Japan. Abe is an hereditary fascist, denies completely the Nanjing Holocaust, Japanese aggression overall, ‘comfort women’ etc. In the USA he grovels re. Pearl Harbor, but for the thirty million dead Chinese their is no remorse. An evil, dangerous, bastard, but his off-sider Aso is even worse. And in south Korea the US occupiers put the Japanese Kempeitai police and their brutal Korean henchmen back in power straight away, to suppress the Korean resistance.
An appropriate speech for the occasion, but one should never forget that nations have no permanent friends, only permanent interests.
China is playing the balance of power game. During the cold war, China came to side with the US against the imperialistic Soviet Union. Today, China is siding with Russia against the imperialistic USA/Nato.
That Russia and China depend for their security on maintaining a balance of power with the West raises the question of how long peace among the great powers can be maintained on this basis: how is Putin’s multi-polar world to be stabilized without the continual and substantial risk annihilating nuclear war?
The US believes it has the answer: a global system in which national interests are subordinate to to interests of global corporations and banks, indeed a global system under which the sovereign nation states and the biological and cultural diversity of the nations of the world are to be destroyed, through mass migrations and multi-culturalism.
Those who oppose America’s plan for a New World Order need to offer an alternative that will be viable in the long term.
Nothing is viable in the long term. Just depends on nations policies and leaders at any one time.
Some arrangements are more durable than others. An unstable nuclear balance of power does not augur well for the continued existence of the human race.
Actually, it is the attempt to impose a globalist, multi-cultural wasteland that threatens the extinction of humanity, not the existence of organic, culturally unique nations.
I also disagree with the idea that those who oppose an evil system need to offer an alternative “system.”
The alternative is not a “system,” but is rather real life: biologically, ethnically and culturally diverse. Nobody on top, imposing a hierarchy.
Sorry, one doesn’t have to buy your premise.
One can choose to, but that is a matter of faith.
Senior Indian diplomat Ambassador M. K. Bhadrakumar wrote on Sunday an analysis of current Beijing-Moscow relations, The Sino-Russian entente in Eurasia http://atimes.com/2015/05/the-sino-russian-entente-in-eurasia/ , commencing with:
“… The presence of the Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9 signifies a significant step forward in the strategic partnership between the two big powers. The Chinese media underscored this in no small measure. The following quotes from the dispatches by Xinhua news agency bring out the flavor of what unfolded in Moscow over the weekend:
* Xi’s presence in Moscow “demonstrates China’s determination to safeguard the post-WWII world order.”
* “Xi’s presence and the unprecedented participation of Chinese soldiers in the parade delivered a clear message: China and Russia are seeing eye to eye on upholding the post-war international order and safeguarding world peace.”
* The Red Square parade “is meant to showcase Russia’s great power and unyielding will in front of Western pressure and its determination against attempts at rewriting history and challenging the postwar order.”
* “The parade is not only a military show but a diplomatic event.” …”

Thank you so much, comrade Anatolii Karlin for this excellent and stirring translation of Xi’s op-ed. It is evident that Russian-Chinese solidarity exists, and that the crimes and lies of the “evil empire” will be defeated.
We revolutionaries in the United States have had a difficult time in building a revolutionary party and raising the U.S. people to socialist consciousness. This has be due to many factors; but the primary basis for this difficulty has been our failure as revolutionaries to understand what authentic, workable socialism truly is.
We have now developed a tiny movement however that sees authentic socialism a form of “cooperative social-capitalism.” We see the future U.S. socialist republic as a social-capitalist cooperative republic.
This may seem strange to you and others, especially at first glance. But it really is quite simple and reasonable. We feel that true socialism is a strategic alliance of the proletariat, small business class and the intelligentsia/managentsia. In such a republic, private property rights would be maintained and utilized by the revolutionary party for socialist, social-capitalist construction.
Our view is that the revolutionary state does not need to own 100% of industry and commerce, but only a minor fraction–perhaps a variable one-third–through preferred (i.e., non-voting) stock. This would leave about two-thirds of ownership for those who do the actual work, from top to bottom.
Thus, management responsibilities would be undertaken by the working classes, especially on the Gung Ho/Mondragon cooperative corporation model. This should bring entrepreneurial genius into the dynamic of socialist construction, and at the same time give the working class a direct stake in productive efficiency.
Government revenues therefore would come quarterly and automatically, without the need for complicated tax codes and expensive tax collection bureaucracies.
I’m conveying this bit of information, Anatolii, in order that you and others might see that the social revolution in the United States and other countries has a chance of occurring in the not-too-distant future. The main impediment to this is that the socialist vanguard has be diverted into sectarianism and opportunism, and that building the vanguard party consequently has been almost impossible.
Thank you once again for your brilliant translation. I only wish it were possibly to convey my love and comradely best wishes to Xi and the Chinese party and people.
Cheers and best wishes,

Well, no need to put down percentages. In my teenage days, I read many of Lenin’s writings, I suggest starting there.
What state has to control is resources, energy and essential services: medical, schooling, etc…
Dear Anon, thanks for the reply. I assume your comment about not needing to put down percentages refers to my statement of “perhaps a variable one-third.” If so, let me explain briefly.
The central idea here is that the socialist revolutionary state does not need to nationalize 100% of all the means of production; but only a significant, but minor percent. And by not nationalizing everything in sight, private property rights themselves are retained and utilized for socialist construction.
This of course goes against the Marxian stipulation–on the next-to-last page of the second chapter of the Communist Manifesto–that the socialist state should and would nationalize “all the instruments of production.”
100% nationalization has been experimented with repeatedly since 1917, and its negatives greatly outweigh its positives. In fact, it has only worked in the very short run, during national emergencies; it has failed miserably in the long run, in every place where it has been tried.
This is why the citizens of the U.S. and other countries have no workable, charismatic example to inspire them and raise them to socialist consciousness.
The revolutionary left has to come up with a corrected stipulation for socialist economy, and this is what our nascent movement is trying to accomplish.
As far as Lenin’s writings are concerned, I started there a long time ago. Lenin was the greatest socialist revolutionary; but he also bought into the Marxian stipulation that the state should own everything in sight, and this–as proved by history–was erroneous. If he had lived, I think he would have made corrections, but, alas, he died early.
We certainly agree that the socialist state should control “resources, energy and essential services: medical, schooling, etc…”
Cheers.
Well, I agree with what you are saying and I would like to add that generally speaking the main wrong thing was the attempt to kill the religion namely Christianity and replace it with “communist ideology” as a replacement religion for the masses. We know this never worked.
In my mind Communism was/is nothing else but godless Christianity.
One more thing,
Nationalizing all of the industry and agriculture came from the premise that:
There can not be people without basic needs to live, hence they all must be employed.
This premise is somewhat wrong, as some people are principally unwilling to work, yet need to be provided for.
The other side of this theory in action is:
We produce things which never see the light of day (never hit the market), because they are immediately destroyed as they were not needed to start with.
Sort of like producing profits at all cost in the capitalism and imperialism.
There is another argument for nationalizing some industries, as they do not have to be profitable, yet must exist, like the city transportation.
“This would leave about two-thirds of ownership for those who do the actual work”
OK — but don’t call it capitalist, then, but worker owned (and run).
I just googled the term and the big thing on the top of the page came up as:
cap·i·tal·ist
ˈkapədləst/
noun
noun: capitalist; plural noun: capitalists
1.
a wealthy person who uses money to invest in trade and industry for profit in accordance with the principles of capitalism.
“the creation of the factory system by nineteenth-century capitalists”
And that’s the thing — a wealthy person using money to make money, and not working or producing. Capitalism is all about getting money and ‘letting money work for you’. Worker owned is quite another thing — as Prof. Rick Wolff points out (and you can see one of his web sites at http://www.democracyatwork.info/ which will hopefully correct this source of confusion regarding the word ‘capitalism’.
YOu have to be careful with state owned business because for it work right the state itself has to be owned by the workers — i.e., true democracy — to avoid the nasty state capitalism and centralized control which has no accountability to the people, but rather is run by oligarchy (who, in the case of USSR a short time after it’s creation, ended up with about the same bosses as before, but in the government sector instead of the private sector, while the workers never got control of their work or their earnings.
One problem is stop the system from deteriorating into a simple special interest, guild type system where various groups run a productive sector without accountability to the society as a whole, or even to local non-guild members.
You seem to be aware of these difficulties and want the real thing, but the word ‘capitalist’ is the wrong word. Call is business, or manufacturing, or wahtever — but capitalist is misleading, as would be saying ‘thieves’ police force’.
Dear The Saker,
Thank you for President Xi’s op-ed. Wonderful. We must never forget. History is so very important.
I note Kerry went to the tomb at Sochi today to lay a wreath – hmm – a bit of bending there and its the US coming to Russia – not the other way around.
A meeting is now being held with Lavrov and other Russian dignatries but the sight of that vicious nasty woman Nuland sitting across the table with Kerry – was enough to put me off the meeting. I hope Kerry’s meeting with Putin will not include her! She has so much blood on her hands.

Russians have been always in their land.. is only the Arrogant American Government ,the one that is moving towards Russian Borders with missiles ,planes and tanks..and overthrow Legitimate democratically elected Governments at Russian borders and later call Russia the Aggressor.. Russia does not have 700 military bases around the world.. not even 3. Russia does not arm terrorist as americans do in Middle east.. neither supply weapons to Nazis to kill civilians..So is American Government the one that need to stay in their land and stop mending their nose in Russian business and stop its sabotage to international laws by provoking civil wars in nations. overthrowing anyone from power who is not their puppet. Russia does not go to Canada or Mexico and try to create a coup there.
amazing last three paragraphs. Its your choice, how do you want to look at the world, with fear and negativity or with hope and co-operation at heart? Over to you Obama/Hilary ..
Thanks for posting this it really does show the bonds between the two nations.
Just a query concerning this bit: “The Chinese army and people fought stoically and persistently, locking down and destroying numerous contingents of the Japanese aggressors. At the cost of a huge national sacrifice – the lives of more than 35 million people – a great victory was finally won and an enormous contribution was made to victory in the world struggle against fascism.”
35 Million. Was that a mis-translation? All the stats I have seen say 3,500,000. 35 million is 10 million more than the Soviet Union suffered and if true a massive loss that seems to have been under-reported.
Wikipedia gives the military losses as 3 to 4 million. This would be your 3.5 mill figure.
On top of that is somewhere between 7 and 11 million civilian deaths attributed to military action and war crimes. This includes roughly 3 million killed when the government open the dams to deliberately flood the Yellow River, in the hope of halting the Japanese advance; same again in numerous Japanese massacres and chemical attacks.
Plus 5 million for war-related famine and disease, eg where people were not harmed but their fields (or the dams for irrigating them) were rendered unusable. This includes roughly 3 million killed when the government open the dams to deliberately flood the Yellow River, in the hope of halting the Japanese advance.
Taking the highest figure for each category still only comes to 20 million. Maybe they have newer numbers we don’t have access to. Deaths in the floods, for example, would only be guesses; China’s population was counted only by estimates (their own and international organizations) until they conducted their first-ever full census in 1953.
Even 20 million is way too many, of course.
Thanks for all that additional info, it makes the 35 million figure more sensible now and you are probably correct that newer figures are available. For certain Xi Jinping knows a bit more about the detail than us!
It’s 35M dead in all the Chinese recent media:
– Basic facts about European, Asian battlefields in WWII
BEIJING, May 8 (Xinhua) – http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2015-05/08/c_134221113.htm
So says also Andrei Kortunov, director-general of the Russian International Affairs Council: “China made one of the largest national sacrifices of over 35 million people in WWII. In Western countries, the European theater of war used to be in the focus of people’s memory, while the war in Asia-Pacific is somewhat shadowed.” http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2015-05/08/c_134221683.htm
Good point. It should also be realised that Chiang Kai-shek, the gangster the western oligarchy supported during WW2 probably spent more energy and time trying to subdue Mao’s forces than he did against the Japanese. Like every other western colonial quisling regime, Kai-shek concentrated upon terror against civilians and was incompetent and chickenshit in actual war fighting against other soldiers. This typical gangster cowardliness, along with Japanese barbarity greatly contributed to the high Chinese civilian casualties. It also resulted in a steady Japanese advance throughout the war in Kai-shek controlled territory – the one region where the Japanese steadily gained territory, rather than lost it, after their initial successes.

Corbett: Chinese BRICS in the New World Order
James Corbett : 03:47 Let us not fall in the trap of supporting false idols, false hopes, which is exactly what is happening, unfortunately, with a large part of the population. Of course, the largest part of the population just tends to believe whatever narrative is passing through the news headlines. So they’ll tend to believe
…. China, Russia – bad, …
People in the alternative media tend to see it as
– Well, the West is the driving force of the military aggression that we see going on, so, any stop against that, any bulwark against that is a good thing -. China, BRICS bank, all of these new things, are coming along to undermine that.
Unfortunately, it goes one level deeper than that. And that is that at the very top of this pyramid, the Chinese elite is connected directly with the US, Western elite. And that is demonstrable, that’s something I did an entire podcast on, a few months ago. “China and the New World Order.” *
James Corbett [15:25] : You can’t have a global currency, you can’t have global government, if the United States is the only global superpower, unchallenged dominant powerhouse … It _has_ to come down in order for the global superstructure to come up. And the only way to do that, is to put the nice, happy face on it:
Oh look , there is this resistance bloc, these other countries that are going to be standing up to this horrible militarism of NATO.
Which is true, that the militarism and all of the craziness that we’ve seen have been brought about by the rise of the United States as a global, unchallenged superpower. Absolutely, it is abominable, and it does have stopped in some way….. [But] People are putting their faith and hope and their blind trust in China and Russia, – as if they treated their populations so well! They are going to be the stewards of freedom , peace and happiness throughout the world.”
Total poppycock. ………”
[15:25] “Basically you can’t have that kind of a world system without the belligerents coming head-to-head with each other. So, I think that Russia and Putin, at the very best, are acting a part of a real opposition. But they are not a real opposition, because, again, they rely on the same outdated – not just outdated, but fundamentally flawed – structures of national… Nationalism is not the bulwark against globalism. That is exactly the part of the dialectic that leads us into globalism. I wrote about this recently in The International Forecaster, in an editorial called How To Really Defeat Globalism, which points out – Nationalism, national & nation-state pride and all of this, is part of the construct that has led us towards global systems of control. It’s based on the same flawed fundamental principle that there is some sort of a national identity, and there is some sort of a national government, that somehow, in some strange, magic, superstitious ritual, has the authority to pronounce over the lives of everyone who happens to live in a certain geographical area. … and, for some reason, that has never been described or explained, has a monopoly on violence over this geographic area. It is a total fraud, that has been perpetrated on the people, and has been brought about by a conscious indoctrination effort. I wrote about this in a recent issue of The International Forecaster as well, talking about it is the Prussian education system ……” [17:00]

Many things well said. I vehemently disagree with him on Putin…
(But (*) the aforementioned analysis of China is fine: https://www.corbettreport.com/china-and-the-new-world-order-transcript/ )
One of the things I hear from people is ‘Everyone is the same. Russians want an empire as much as the US. Russians are as bad as the US, as corrupt as the US, as greedy as the US, tortures people, etc. Everyone does it, so don’t blame the US.’
The understanding of other cultures is so meager that some people can’t even recognize differences. On the other foot you have American exceptionalism saying that only the US is good and ever other nation is uncivilized and evil. Two feet, going in different directions, with Americans always going around in circles.
A person makes two mistakes: one is thinking everyone is like himself, the other is thinking everyone is different. There is a lack of subtlety and discrimination in thinking about universals of humanity and diversity — and being surprised, and offended, when another person sees things differently and has other motivations. Since the US is democratic and imperialistic then everyone must be democratic and imperialistic (not noticing the contradiction) — but since the US is the indispensable nation bringing democracy (through imperialism) then everyone else is inferior. Cognitive dissonance and double think raised to an art form that would astound even Orwell.
The Anglo Americans specialize in psychological projection, and believe that their enemies are just as depraved as themselves.
So they will predictably attempt to paint China or Russia as no different from the USA–ignoring the little fact that America has been at war for most of its entire history, far surpassing anything that either China or Russia has engaged in.
This is another layer of deception that the Anglo-Americans, particulary Controlled Opposition media like James Corbett, are promoting to discredit the Russia-China alliance.
In fact, this is a CONSCIOUS STRATEGY that the Anglo Americans are pushing.
Lada Ray has incisvely exposed this very Machiavellian tactic below, which many people–including supposed dissidents/activists here–are curiously promoting:
“Since US cannot be seen as a positive force any more, the only thing that is left for its propaganda is to discredit the opponent. To do that, the US needs to twist the reality in such a way that the opponent is painted with the tainted brush.
In other words, US is not interested any more in proving that it’s a force for good in the world. Alas, it’s too late for that as everyone’s aware of the truth. USA isn’t trying to show it’s not the driving force behind NWO. It is abundantly clear that America has lost the fight for the hearts and minds.
Therefore, USA’s new strategy is to paint everyone else with a tainted brush, so everyone seems tainted as much as the USA, and this especially concerns Russia and Putin.
This is actually a brilliant tactic, which easily confuses people – even the smart ones. This is called “I am going down, but I am determined to drag down with me everyone I can.” Will it work? Short term – yes, as it confuses people and slows down the progress of transitioning to a better, more equitable society, not based on US hegemony and US dollar dominance. People start questioning if it’s even worth protesting, or getting to the bottom of the truth, if all global elites are corrupt equally.
[…]
That said, blaming Putin for being a secret part of NWO is a very insidious tactic and it’s geared towards the smarter and more awake people. These would naturally support Putin because of his actions. But if they succeed in twisting the truth so he seems like a double agent of the West, than he is distrusted and branded the same as others by those who are predisposed to believe conspiracy theories, however outlandish – simply because such theories offer a seeming alternative to the existing official point of view.
When the tainted brush propaganda technology is turned on, distrust and confusion are the result. These lead to paralysis and inaction – and this is exactly what they want to achieve! They want the majority to be passive and subservient, and the smarter minority to be passive and distrustful of all. Mission accomplished!
[…]
Who is really behind NWO?
Let’s examine another rumor that is actively being circulated in the ‘alternative’ media. For that, we will backtrack and ask ourselves again whether the Russian President Vladimir Putin is an essential part of the clandestine and evil force commonly known as NWO? Is Russia in fact an integral part of the global conspiracy, and its opposition to the US is just a very insidious, very elaborate game?
Is the global elite preparing to dump the poor United States, along with the dollar? Those who ask these kinds of questions obviously think that America is just a poor, innocent victim. Americans obviously never massively benefitted from the unlimited free money US dollar status as world reserve currency gave them.
So, are the NWO elites getting ready to dump the dollar and move collectively to Moscow, or to the new “NWO headquarters” in the futuristic Asian city of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan?
Before we proceed, I want to say a word about “the poor, innocent Americans.” My readers know that my goal is to get to the bottom of the real truth, and I don’t do truth substitutes. And here it is: it’s not so much NWO everyone has to fear. It is US, and by extension UK. The NWO would get nowhere IF without the US – its military brawn and financial muscle. It is understandably hard for some Americans to admit that it is in fact their beloved motherland that is the evil empire everyone has to fear, that it’s in fact their country that craves the unchallenged global hegemony. (That said, there are also healthy forces and smart people in the US, just like in any other country.)
From this I can make an inevitable and very sad conclusion: those Americans in the alternative media who are perpetuating the “Putin is NWO and global elites are about to move to Astana” myth are in fact trying to absolve USA from responsibility. Clearly, they see much more than they admit. They know that US is to blame directly or indirectly for the vast majority of distortions and imbalances in today’s world. However, being American, they can’t bear the truth. Therefore, their ulterior motive is to shift the blame to Russia and Putin”.
From: “Is Putin Part of NWO?”
https://futuristrendcast.wordpress.com/2014/08/15/is-putin-part-of-nwo/
The Anglo Americans simply cannot, and will not, admit that the so-called New World Order (NWO) that they forever rant about is just an contrived euphemism for the Anglo American Empire.
The very idea of a “New World Order” goes back to the early 20th century with Woodrow Wilson and later Franklin Roosevelt, and it meant an Anglo American dominated world in all but name.
Today, as the Anglo Americans’ bloody grip on the world grows tenuous, they resort to desperate tactics to smear any opposition with the tainted brush. And they push this NWO trope as a devious method to deflect responsibilty from themselves.
@ Bot Tak, Kat Kan:
I suggest reading China – The Forgotten Ally by Rana Mitter, professor of modern Chinese history at Oxford. It is an epic 10-year work that takes a fresh and intensive look into China’s existential struggle against an enemy from hell called Japan.
China’s claim of 35 million is far from exaggeration – it is certainly not the “low” 20 million.
As for the Generalissimo, Western history has not been kind to him, partly to cover the failures of their own leadership. Vinegar Joe Stilwell was not half the hero Barbara Tuchman made him out, and Chiang Kai-shek was not half the clown either.
Chiang has been rehabilitated by some historians, including Mitter, and even the Chinese government takes an indulgent view of him, in the epic movie Founding of a Republic.
“I suggest reading China – The Forgotten Ally by Rana Mitter”
I’ve better things to do than waste my time reading that sort of far right court jester propaganda “history”. It is literally the same sort of revisionist “history” the far right, neocons have been trying to rewrite history with to represent their own warped zionazism and nazism derived mentality.
Wow, the president’s discourse made me weep.
Lin Piao also fought at the front lines at the Battle of Stalingrad.
Xi is not the first president to recognize Russian comradeship: when the entire West proved reluctant and even hypocritical at China’s struggle for survival as a nation, it was Lenin’s Russia that came to China’s aid. Said Sun Yatsen: “Only you, dear Lenin, is sincere at helping China recover its sovereignty and national dignity.”
