Crimea: The Way Home – EN Subtitles – Full Documentary
from Sott.net PRO 1 day ago All Audiences
This is Andrey Kondrashov’s documentary on the return of Crimea to Russia, available with English subtitles. It has been a year since Crimeans took to the polls to vote for returning to their Motherland and leaving wretched Ukraine behind. The Western powers – led, as ever, by the US and UK – are determined to portray this momentous historic event as an imperial land-grab by Russia, and that it caused the subsequent civil war between Kiev and the breakaway provinces in the country’s East.
However, as this excellent documentary shows, the Russian government could see that the violent manner in which the elected Ukrainian leader Yanukovich had been ousted from power – with American fingerprints all over it – meant chaos would soon spread throughout Ukraine, and the majority ethnic Russian population in Crimea would be among the worst hit by neo-Nazi militias terrorizing people across the country whom they considered ‘insufficiently loyal’ to the US-selected regime.
When President Yanukovich fled the capital on February 21st 2013, President Putin set in a motion a series of responses that would present the first real challenge to American imperial hegemony. In this documentary we learn that Yanukovich would have been killed if Russian Spetsnaz hadn’t rescued him. We also learn what specific measures the Russian government took to ensure the safety of Crimea, including warding off the American destroyer USS Donald Cook, deploying soldiers on the peninsula (who, contrary to US propaganda, were welcomed with open arms), and jamming/preventing orders from Kiev for Ukrainian soldiers stationed in Crimea to begin terrorizing the local population.

For anyone who can’t view it in Vimeo, here is the full-length documentary on LiveLeak:

In this must-watch documentary, you’ll learn:
how Russia saved President Yanukovich of Ukraine
how Crimeans returning from revolution in Kiev tasted the the rage of the Right Sektor ‘Maidan orcs’
how members of the Berkut police force escaped to Crimea and helped set up people’s militias to defend the peninsula, not least by preventing Kiev military jets from landing at Sevastopol’s airport
how these civilian militias defended against an organized takeover of the Crimean Parliament in Sevastopol
that most Crimean Tatars sided with the ethnic Russian population, despite efforts by the coup organizers to generate an ethnic split between them
how the militias came together to blockade repeated efforts by the ‘Maidan orcs’ (Right Sektor fascists) to enter the peninsula – by road, train and air
how the Crimean Referendum was enacted following near unanimous support from the people’s representatives in the Crimean Parliament
how Berkut forces were joined by Kuban Cossacks from across the Black Sea region, including veterans of Russia’s Afghan War, to defend Crimea from efforts by the new regime to send in weapons and explosives
how, having prevented Kiev from deploying ‘Maidan orcs’ via air, rail and road, Russia’s Black Sea Fleet blockaded the Ukrainian navy from leaving its home port
how the Russian military placed the brand new Coastal Defence System ‘Bastion-P’ at locations along Crimea’s southern coast. Once activated, the approaching USS Donald Cook Destroyer turned around at full-speed before Russian military jets chased the American warship south
how the ‘Night Wolves’ biker gang joined in the defence of Crimea in Yalta by kidnapping Ukrainian General Mikhail Koval and uncovering weapons caches left by the Ukies prior to the coup
how the Crimean citizen militias and Russian soldiers stationed in Sevastopol peacefully neutralized 20,000 Ukrainian forces stationed on the peninsula, many of whom then defected to Russia

I downloaded the first link supplied by Blue (Thank you!!) – and there’s a small glitch, a few minutes missing. Maddeningly, it’s the exact part about what happened with USS Donald Cook – the part everyone wants to know about. Right around 1:29:00 or thereabouts.
The link posted by Blue is now “not found”, and the one I’m posting here works. I’ve already downloaded it and it’s a slightly larger file, with the Donald Cook footage in it. It matches the LiveLeak vid that Saker has embedded here, at 2:25:03 total length.
Thanks! I’m now downloading the undamaged copy.
Curses! I get Ajaz 404 errors when I try to download it via Mozilla and ‘server errors’ in Chrome.
It’s not that I have not seen it, but I’d like a copy to view any time. I like it more every time I see it.
This boorish fascist disgrace on the other hand I am unable to watch again:

I had tried them all but finally this one that previously gave ‘server error’ is now downloading as I speak:

I have long contended that generally the world is getting stupider by the day and curiously have not had anyone openly disagree with me.
As an example of how boorishly childish and dangerous the Hegemon can be -and I am thinking of the cruise missile laden Donald Cook Black Sea ‘send a gunboat’ incident and how that might have escalated with juvenile testosterone tantrums, compare the ‘Crimea: Way Back Home’ quality and intelligence with this adolescent offering:

Putin at 8:40 is classic
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=cfe_1426950588
The Donald Cook material is actually very questionable and detracts from an otherwise interesting documentary. The USN ship didn’t enter the Black Sea till April 10th, so it’s presence there was well after the time frame presented in the documentary and irrelevant to what transposed in the Crimea during that time.
well, I certainly enjoyed it. I was glad to finally find out what happened with that ship, and the info is ok…it was just for the film they needed to shorten the complication….
I watched it two weeks ago, on the day of release. It’s a good documentary, interesting details were revealed there. Worth watching.

Great!
Thanks so much for this VPE – looking forward to watching it!:)
Putin still looks like he is unable to keep a straight face when stating that the SU-24 buzz-job on the Hegemon’s warship in the Black Sea was a bit ‘naughty’ and was not authorised by him.

A few admissable and understandable fibs but altogether excellent. I wonder if the BBC and alphabet networks will show it? He-he-he!

That was classic, and I suspect the film makers couldn’t resist including the USN Cook material because of that Putin answer, even though it happened later than the time frame of the documentary.
I was 3/4 through the video when it stopped and Vimeo said it did not exist? any hints?
Yes it got moved to: https://vimeo.com/123194285
The original one had a small glitch in it – see my fuller reply to the comment by Blue, third from top
What a very informative account of all that happened in Crimea.
Too many personal interviews and accounts to be anything but authentic.
Lots of revelation for me personally and I imagine for very many
western english speakers with an interest in these events.
If I were younger I would be booking my holiday to Crimea right now!
I just did! Going to Moscow for the May 9th Victory Day, and then on to Crimea and Sevastopol for about 6 days. What an honor to be able to thank those people in person for their integrity and courage.
I can’t really afford it in terms of time and money, but I think this event will be a once in a lifetime experience. And then to be able to meet those brave people, wow!
That scene where the Crimeans are facing the machine guns and all of a sudden, the polite green men showed up and the guys with machine guns disappeared was priceless!
yeah it was great, except that I wish those *** had been caught. I was disappointed they got away
I didn’t realize that this film would contain so much footage of Putin. I had been missing his sanity and moral warmth for several weeks, hoping for a new interview or speech to come along. I struck gold :)
What a masterpiece of a documentary, brimming to the top with pure authenticity from the simple witness of ordinary and professional people, the radiant happiness of the Crimean people, and their gratitude to Mother Russia to allow them to come home, finally. It filled me with emotion.
The film is so well made, I have the feeling this is something you could show to western friends to bring them a little bit up to speed on things. I’ll try it and see.
yeah, and that darling biker…what a difference between him and those hoods…all 100 of them against one guy with a missing leg
Phenomenal documentary, so well put together and had quite a bit of info I’d not heard before. Inspiring stuff from the locals especially.
Also I’m more in love with Natalia Poklonskaya than ever. God she’s amazing in every way.
Putin, as ever, speaks with an incredible combination of rationality and badassery. “If they fired a shot we would have destroyed them.”
The only downside to watching this was all the talk about doing whatever’s necessary to protect Russians – inspiring and heartwarming, but left me rather heartbroken for Donbass. I understand Russia’s policy of course, and the consequences of direct intervention could be cataclysmic, but just imagine what it must be like for those who have lost loved ones in Donbass listening to Putin talk about heroically defending Russians whenever and wherever they’re in danger… Even if they understand the situation, it must be incredibly difficult to take in.
Krimvash:
Putin is defending Russians in Donbass. Where do you think the fuel, ammunition, and food that power the NAF comes from? Who do you suppose provided the military training of these men? Didn’t Russia provide the key organizers from its secret services at the start like Strelkov and Bezler?
The NAF is being made into a force capable to liberating Ukraine. That is something they must do themselves. Crimea was a special situation because Russia had 20,000+ troops there and there are only two roads onto the peninsula. It was already an autonomous province and its population had a clear rebellious streak back to 1991. Seizure of the peninsula was elementary compared to a land invasion of Ukraine or even Donbass.
Andrew I’m well aware of all this and don’t disagree with you, as I suggested in my post. Doesn’t change the fact that well over 5,000 civilians have been slaughtered by Kiev (and other…) forces. Compare the material support to Donbass with what happened in S. Ossetia and Crimea, where it was just bish-bash-bosh, wallop-wallop-wallop, sorted, job’s a good-un (in a Russian accent of course). All resolved in a matter of days.
I’ll reiterate that I’m not saying I disagree, I know full well the complex geographical and geopolitical implications when it comes to Donbass and I completely understand Putin’s position. I’m just saying that it must be hard for those suffering to hear all this talk of coming to the rescue of Russians everywhere, no matter what, as soon as they’re threatened.
I felt the same recurring feeling watching this and also felt to much Putin personal responsibility although it is good to get the story right from the horses mouth. Perhaps a few frames from Lavrov interspersed with the actions of his Department would have been appropriate but who knows maybe they felt that would interfere with his future dealings. Even Putin was amazed at just how talented the Russian State contains personal wise, Contrast that with the President of the US who signs off on a kill list on Drone Tuesday or whatever it is without a second thought-he is “getting good at killing people”. Now if that isn’t one for the records I don’t know what is. In any case when you compare this with the “what we have to do is start killing Russian’s” from that bloviater General on whatever abc mainstream media station it was you see the complete regression in the respect for human life that pervades the corportocracy USA.INC “where for a few shekels you completely sell out human welfare” and you “lose everything” Like your SOUL to paraphrase Putin. Great film been looking forward to seeing it. Thank you for posting.

Kudos and wll expecting second part: Crimea, Russian Troy
adelante, Vlad Putin!
Tear down once and forever the DC-Langley-Downing st Bastilla!
Dear The Saker,
Thank you very much for this upload..
Thank you guys!
Incredible video – thank you. Russia is a good country and has a very good President.
Wow, everyone said it was good. But its really good. I’ve sent it to 4 other people so far.
I want to go and live with the Tartars.
at 1:53:05 its pretty funny. President Putin has been asked about the phone calls from the US about the blocking of the Ukrainian Naval ships…and Putin suddenly looks just like a Don.
No bloodshed, but … yeah …. we did ….
at 1:50:43 or so, its talking about tugboats pushing the Ukrainian naval ships over if they raised anchor…why couldn’t the naval ships just blast the tugs ? Are the tugs military tugs ?
Now I’m where Alexander Medvedev, with the damaged leg, is coming home and there are all these nazis waiting for him…about 10 of them, against a guy who has one leg. Wow, what brave scum, hahahaha
Saker, I think this video stops working at about 1:58 and this is a better link

Happiness or torture?
http://orientalreview.org/2015/03/26/arms-to-sadists-us-congress-urges-pres-obama-to-provide-ukraine-with-more-torture-techniques/
Leaders of countries that deal with Putin (if any has watched this video) should know by now how they are treated even in the most dangerous and desperate situation like Yanukovich was in, or in more fatal situation like Syria’s Assad. An incredible lesson for all the leaders of the “free” western world.
There should be a “Sticky” section on this blog, and this video should stay in that section for some times.
ok good.
can i please have a version which i can download from youtube in at least 720p with and without subtitles….
thanks
Excellent documentary which should be watched by those who still profess that Crimea was invaded and the referendum was conducted “down the barrel of a gun”! Good luck to all Crimeans and respect for standing up against the vicious nationalists in Ukraine. I wish you happiness and peace and hope to visit one day.
I finally finished watching the 2 1/2 hours video on Liveleaks. An impressive video, although with some technical problems: sound and video were not in synch and some of the subtitles appeared too short.
What amazed me was how little of the content of the video I had seen in the news reports about it. Most news reports mentioned only the nuclear issue. Someone should have written a summary of the video that was neutral enough that mainstream media would have copied it.
I would like full video putin visited crimea
