This knock out punch by Lavrov the EU certainly did not expect, and after it sobers up, it will have discovered that a new moment has arrived. Russia is showing self respect and will not be intimidated. The EU will now have to chose if it will follow Washington’s neocon directives, or if it will act rationally and treat Russia as an equal partner.

If it obeys Washington, discord will appear inside the EU, whose member state trade with Russia, as well as invest in Russia. How many are prepared to terminate all contacts and lose additional revenues, bearing in mind that by the second half of 2016 EU countries lost, due to sanctions, 100 billion euros in trade, bitterly resented ?

I think that this is a master stroke by Lavrov. What in fact he has done is tell Brussels to chose between Washington’s interests and those of EU member states. Should it back Washington, it will start looking into the dissipation of the EU. The EU response is going to be very interesting.

It is about time after six years of capitulations/humiliations on almost all fronts.Enough is enough.But don’t worry Eurocrats have no balls they will surrender.But if they dare to go ahead with their sanctions(illegal, acts of war).I would stop to recognize the EU as an entity(this is not a country).Expel all diplomats(spys for some),and declare that RF will continue to deal only on a bilateral way with the countries who want so.Big trap for the baltics, Poland,Roumania,Bulgaria…and Germany + France.

The country that needs Nord Stream 2 … is Germany. Germany has crippled itself with its mad ‘Energiewende’. It’s a cold snowy Winter this year, and the coal plants are running flat out at 100% to keep the lights and heat on, because wind and solar are producing ZERO watts at the moment. A few more shutdowns of coal plants and no new methane plants, and the next time the weather does not cooperate, there will be a blackout in Berlin.

Lavrov’s statement must be viewed in the context of Putin’s speech at Davos. The West, including Europe and the U.S., is under the thrall of the financial elite fronted by the WEF, IMF, World Bank, elements of the UN, and other organizations. While Russian leadership was hopeful that nationalistic elements in Europe could shake-off the shackles of the Western financial elite, recent events (COVID-19, Great Reset push) have forced Russian leadership to separate themselves from the West for the sake of their own people.

I think that all these developments took an accelerated pace after Putin´s speech at Davos ( telematic session ) in which he underlined a real social-democratic proyect which at this point, wholly contradict the plans of TPTB in the West.

The Kremlin, and its associates are clearly testing to what extend the West is willing to, now, openly support a clearly nazi agenda.

The coup in the Ukraine, along the nazi character of its junta, got mostly covered before the eyes of the average European citizen by the media blackout. The same has happened with the systemathic destruction of Soviet memorials along the Baltics and Poland and its raising of new ones to Nazi divisions.

Now, Navalny is being uncovered as the real far-right extremist he really is, with even Yabloko ex-lider Yavlinsky calling for not giving him support at all…

I think Russia has decided to pull the blanket once for all, adding to this statements by Lavrov, the fact that, for first time in 30 years, Shoigu did not appear in the last OSCE meeting on security ( online )…

Then there is the fact that SVR head Naryshkin came also to state to the media that people collaborating along foreign powers to undermine their country can not be called “oposition”…

Important developments taking place yesterday in the evening in Italy come to add to all this panorama, with central bankers taking over the country lately governed by Conte, in a unestable coalition government, who dared to ask help to Russia past year ot combat the pandemic…

It is not possible that the whole West throw it all behind such scoundrel like Navalny if all this would not have another secondary purpose.

Wow, from a diplomatic viewpoint, that was an exceptionally aggressive statement by Lavrov. While Russia is surely tired of having to deal with Europe’s laughably incompetent regime change attempts, they pose no actual existential threat to her. I seriously doubt the Navalny affair with its myriad self-destructive European sanctions was the actual trigger such a radical change of tone.

I think NATO’s floating a trial balloon about Ukraine becoming a full-fledged staging platform for NATO provocations probably had far more influence on Russia finally losing patience. Ukraine/NATO’s delusional overreach would pose an immediate existential threat to Russia, turning the Black Sea into the most militarized body of water on the planet — Russia is not about to let that happen. Either NATO backs down very quickly, or the entire Ukraine becomes a war zone, officially, economically, terroristically, etc. Zelensky has NO idea how easy he had it up to this point, but, if he tries this particular easy exit, he’s gonna find out. The choice is Europe’s, and Lavrov just made that painfully clear.

Isn’t it interseting that DNC presidents always made these chaotic choices to force Russia to hit back: Truman, Kennedy, Carter, Clinton, Obama – and now Biden? The party still has that KKK/Tammany Hall/criminal organizer mentality.

What has accounted for survey participants declining favorability of Russia from 2011 with 49% of Americans viewing Russia favorably to 11% viewing Russia favorably now? How accurate are the numbers? Were people lying to surveyors telling them what the ruling class wants to hear in fear of political persecution?

Was it because Russia jumped on the Covid Cult bandwagon that destroyed their lives when in the past they had viewed Russia as a hopeful moral counter-balance to the corruption of the American government?

The Globzi Covidian Cultists want to destroy the U.S. economy, which is a bitter pill for any American to swallow since they live in America.

Replacing a corrupt government with another corrupt government based on scientific fraud with techno-fascist health fascism is hardly anything that any red blooded American would not view as a direct and personal attack against themselves and their way of life.

That would not mean that those Americans suddenly wished to try to destroy Russia either economically or physically, simply that they view Russia more skeptically than they previously had.

The basis of every society is the common, baseline understanding of the the universe around us, our group epistemology. Now this understanding can, and is wide, but at the heart of every functioning society, certain baseline, fundamental commonalities must exist, or society cannot survive.

The new perception-control capabilities, and techniques, most widely practiced through the agencies of the Empire Collective is the most precipitous existential threat now existing on the planet.

Militarily and economically, the Empire Collective‘s shunning, and application of economic warfare has necessitated Russia’s development of contingency infrastructures, processes, and partnerships, which now insulate it from economic and to a large extent, kinetic military action, but the minds of Russians, in particular those raised in an internet-enabled world, are dangerously vulnerable!

Externally Russia seems as ready as possible, under the circumstances, but like any nation which desires to remain sovereign, i.e. the resistance, the Russian leadership is going to have to implement policies and infrastructures to limit the behaviour data-mining of the Empire Collective, or fall victim to the ensuing chaos, which we see Empire Collective descending into.

Read the article and the comments and wanted to add my humble 2 cents.
I have no idea what is happening below the surface, but Russian policy is generally quite conservative and calculated. This is a very strong statement to make, It sounds a lot like Russia is calling out a bluff.
The world is staring a commodity super cycle in the face at the same time that governments are destroying their currencies . Russia is now the global swing producer of oil. Combined with Iran and Qatar (Qatar follows whichever way the wind blows) Russia is the de facto dominant producer of natural gas and pipeline operator in Eurasia. This is in addition to being a dominant producer of wheat, minerals, etc. Asia’s middle classes are growing and the next few years will see ferocious competition for commodities, commodities that Europe desperately needs. The US and Canada will muddle through, but Europe won’t be able to cope with unsustainable debt, massive overhead and deteriorating prospects. The next ten years could see a total reversal of the relationship with Europe begging at Russia’s door.
I may be wrong, but it seems like the West just lost whatever leverage they had with Russia. That train has left the station. Russia doesn’t need Europe. Europe desperately needs Russia. The only question now is when will Europe realize that.

A few things struck me.

First of all, apparently the RF Foreign Ministery reads articles from The Saker (they should, the other way around might also be true ;-))

Second, the Kremlin apparently softened down the tone a bit. I sense the same as with the expulsion of quite some Russian diplomats in the West after the Skripal theatre, where Lavrov wanted to reply accordingly which is usual in diplomatic affairs, Putin stated that he didn’t want to go along with this childplay and instead invited children of diplomats in the Kremlin.

Third, it puzzles me why DC still thinks sanctions have effect (‘punish the citizens, so that they start to revolt and we get our wanted regime change’). When did this succeed? ‘Punishment’ bears such an Old Testamentical, so Talmudic nauseating scent. foremost, it shows the (lack of adult) morality of the punisher.

It’s difficult to tell how the EU, or better Germany will react. I’m not a fan of Merkel, but I realize that being the motor of the EU and still an occupied nation, she is often mauled between a rock and a hard place. It’s also funny to see that the strategists in DC are still obsessed with the ideas of Mackinder of some 120 years ago, when Britain still ruled the waves, and any cooperation between Germany and Russia was considered a mortal danger. Don’t these blokes at the CFR have some more recent stuff?
