I agree with most of what you said and no you didn’t offend me (this time) around . There is however an issue that I would like to add . When Poland joined NATO the RF was still weak. The Yeltsin years were a disaster for Russia and it would have been difficult to foresee the rise of the RF to what it has become today . In my heart I was wishing that Poland would of at least remained ‘neutral’ and display a more patient approach with regards to the potential of its Eastern neighbor but unfortunately that didn’t transpire . The other aspect is if Poland would have chosen not to join NATO and become thereafter a US vassal then I sincerely believe that there would have been a US sponsored ‘color revolution’ in Poland regardless and how that would have played out I don’t know . For the West it was relatively easy to manipulate Poland because of its historical animosity towards Russia , the same could be said from the Russian perspective . Poland today is being used as a wedge not only against Russia but Germany as well . In hindsight I do believe that rapprochement was in the works between the Countries but for some reason there occurred the Smolensk air crash which basically destroyed that possibility at the time. Coincidence ? I’ve lost faith in coincidences.
No love lost between the polish clerico-fascist regime and the Ukronazi thugs in power in Kiev, either. I do sympathise with you, Stefan, living in a country run by maniacal, priest-ridden, psychopaths, but the situation here in Austfailure is just as dire, but with less clerico-fascist input-for now.
@ Mulga Mumblebrain
“… Austfailure …”
Are you referring to Australia or Austria?
Hint: Syllables and, most convincingly, pronunciation.
Mulga : We’ve met before on TD . Yes religion and the CIA played a major role with the Solidarnosc movement.
Reminds me of how Chile got a CIA – installed Pinoche dictatorship – according to Naomi Klein’s book The Shock Doctrine – it was the Catholic Church that agreed to collaborate with Milford Friedman’s predatory university (no other universities in Chile were interested)
That’s how it all started
again: how is this a “Poland based” website ?

to Anonius:

the technicalities are over my head but i get it.
a Polish-Am editorial site.
thank you
To clarify “Poland based website” – I’m the website owner, an American/Pole currently in Poland. The domain is registered in the US and site hosted in the US. Owner’s location doesn’t always correlate with where the domain is registered and hosted.
https://ForeignPolicyMatters.com should resolve to our website, which is associated with Poland News at https://facebook.com/PolandNewsUSA
The Saker is certainly correct when he stated that the US backed the “nationalists” (ie. neo-Nazis) from western Ukraine in order to bring down Yanukovich in 2014. Most of those “demonstrators” we saw in Kiev in 2014 were indeed from western Ukraine, who were brought to Kiev to create the impression that they reside in the city, when in fact they do not. Typical Soros methods.
The US empire is good at regime change and creating chaos. However, it is not good at seeing the consequences of its actions. That 2014 coup d’etat has started a chain reaction in Ukraine, and the results will be the exact reverse to what the US anticipated. The country will either have to be federalized, or else it will break up into three parts. The end winner will be Russia.
Why do you say the US did not anticipate regime change and chaos?
Surely, constant practice and becoming “good” are persuasive evidence that they anticipate death and destruction, famine and pestilence, and so forth.
Fascinating analysis,Cogito Man.
What would the Poles do if Brexit does occur, and they lose the supposed British counterweight to German German pull in the EU?
Reading to you, then we can suppose that Yugoslavia had wasn’t suffer attacks from NATO to be partitioned as is today if was were joined the Europe Union long time ago. In that case what kind of concessions had to give?. Backstab Russia?. Change of economic system?.
If you think the USA will be “less intrusive”, well, good luck with that.
Poland, together with Sweden (same stupid yellow & blue flag – and also a stupid mental attitude, see what they let arsonists do today there; early reports were that no arrests made: ‘We have already started making calls to the parents of the youths who were taking part in this,’ Gothenburg police spokesperson Ulla Brehm told SVT. ‘We chose not to arrest anyone on the spot, but have identified them.’ – DM. Later reported 2 arrested) were responsible for the expansion eastwards of the eu through the Eastern Partnership.
ukrainians were obviously hoping to join the eu because they saw what a major financial effect it had in Poland.
The former Warsaw Pact countries were also invited to join NATO, so that all their military kit would be replaced to NATO standards, namely that american offense contractors would make lotsa money.
They would have liked to have done the same with ukraine, but obviously it has no money for this.
When I mentioned same flag, that was obviously comparing Sweden’s with ukraine’s.
You wrote “Poland, together with Sweden (same stupid yellow & blue flag” – no obvious allusion to Ukraine.
Thanks. Enjoyed it. I would point out, however, that it would have been hard for the formerly socialist countries to craft an independent foreign policy in the early 1990s. I can speak for Czechoslovakia back then: first, the change happened so fast, it took most people by surprise. In some sense, they did not know what hit them. By the time folks were able to digest the consequences, western powers were entrenched. Those countries needed investments (i.e., lots of money) – and who could supply those? Only the west – and it did not come w/out strings attached. Now, agreed that the Baltics and Poland are special cases; they love to wallow in petty historical grievances and (likely) a good dose of envy of Russia. CZ and Hungary went one way, Bulg. and Romania seem to be harking back to their fascist past, Yugosl. was destroyed, and GDR was absorbed into West Germany. Very systematically, not much was left of the former socialist world.
The Poles have demonstrated that they are the masters of cutting-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face phenomenon – over and over again.
Hello guys,
A bit off topic but here it is: The Magnitsky Act – Behind the Scenes. The documentary that exposes the lies behind the infamous Magnitsky Act. Watch it for free on https://d.tube/#!/v/doessteemitwork/89n1gkl9 This is a youtube alternative however it has some limitations such as that it streams videos for only a week, so watch it quickly, save it to your disk, and mirror it somewhere else if you can,
to Cogito Man:
“What happens next is an open question. That question will be solved by either WWIII or economic collapse of either China/Russia or US and/or EU.
Only time will tell….”
Bogdan:
i suggest current options are better than that because a balance now exists and the world wants to keep it; but the Polish government has to assert sovereignty within its borders. for example: czystka in both directions. what’s stopping you? i mean now.
Sorry but I think you miss the points of the invasion of Afghanistan and the big cake Iran.
Afghanistan was invaded and occupied because Taleban banned opium in 2000.
The idea of taking over the opium (heroine) trade in Afghanistan was to provide revenue for ISIS troops (9000t heroine today) to be spread along and into the underbelly of Russia and flank of China.
The Iran case is also simple. Iran´s $42 Trillion oil/gas reserves is the one and only temptation for US´s (Rothschild´s bank/oil cartel) endless hostility and plans of taking over Iran.
