UPDATE: I just found this info on the Internet:
“Free press” at work in Germany:
Only 9 minutes of the 1 hour interview with Putin were broadcasted by German state TV ARD. Also on thier website only the censored versions of the video and the transcript were released. The censored parts are critical of US/EU policy and for example are about who stated the war in Georgia.
On Russian TV channel Vesti-24 the interview was fully broadcasted twice.
ARD videostream:

When German politicians try to lecture Russia on “freedom of press” Russian politicians and journalists can simply point to this censorship on German TV.
Same on CNN, they only showed the part where he accuses the US of being involved in Georgia.
They show it over and over and over. They have to make sure that your averge “dumb as fu.ck” fat American understands.
From the one newspaper I read almosy daily during the Kosovo war. Note their assessment of Cheney and McCain.

For the record I was born in 1952.
Ever fair and balanced, eh?
Stop spreading rumours and allegations and instead do your background research to demonstrate how the simple fact that ARD decided not to broadcast the full interview is in any way due to restrictions to “free press” (ludicrous!) or “censorship”.
ARD’s Roth states clearly that the interview lasted an hour. If you knew ARD at all, you’d furthermore know that they simply will not show an hour’s worth of interviewing — regardless of whom — simply because they happen to sit on that amount of material.
Any amount of editing down to their usual allocation for interviews may be subjected to criticism. You may like it or not, but it behoves you to maintain some degree of professionalism if you think the world needs to hear your opinion.
@Vladimir: Had you bothered to look at the link in red “I just found this info on the internet” you might have realized that I was merely reporting, well, something I had found on the internet.
As for ARD’s decision not to air the full interview it is, no doubt, a policy thing which, at least in part, relates to not showing a full hour of any interview. The western corporate media has long set clear objectives such as 250 words articles, 3 min interviews, etc. After all, there is the need to stupidify the western public to such a degree that it would accept clearly mutually exclusive propositions, like the Orwellian doublethink. So your valiant effort in whitewashing ARD has some basis in reality. Except…
Except that had ARD had any interest in informing their audience they would have placed the full interview online. They choose not to and thereby did the Russian public a great favor. Now the “edited” version of the interview is circulated in the Russian blogosphere with the “missing portions” added in red so that everybody can see what exactly ARD took out. Check it out here:

You are, of course, entitled to think that the “free press” is free regardless of all this. After all, doubleplusgoodthinking is the right of any self-deceiving moron. Just don’t expect me to take that self-deceiving moron’s pontificating self-righteous advice on how to run my blog seriously, ok?
