If i was born Palestinian l would be member of Hezbollah because of this gentlemen. I hardly miss any of his interviews, just love his self-confidence when he speaks about a movement and a nation he represents. Obviosly he has enormous organization skills as since he is a gensec, movement grow not only in numbers but also became sofisticated enough to beat one of best equipt armies in this suffered world. Great respect for him and wish them godspeed in recovering their lands
I see no contradiction. A Palestinian can become a member of Hezbollah, why not, just like any other foreign national can join that organisation. Take Saker for instance, he is not even an Arab, much less a Lebanese Arab, and he is still a follower of Hezbollah.
If what Nasrallah says here about his owning precision missiles is true, the Zionist entity in Palestine’s days might indeed be numbered. Although, whether the latter’s possession of nuclear weapons could enter the equation, remains an open question.
Robert steele threatens the 9/11 truth dump that will end israel . We all might know , but don’t hold your breath. The politics would be messy for those with cognitive issues.
What the Lebanese need are anti aircraft missiles that can stop the Israeli air Force from abusing Lebanon’s airspace to launch airstrikes against Syria.
Russia has had a open offer of military aid to Lebanon for quite a while. Odd they refuse, usa would not arm Lebanon in a manner that harmed israel. Shows who is captured by whom
Key questions before the claim can be taken seriously:
-1- Define Precise. Strikes within 5m of target? 50m? 500m? At 500m+ cheap options are available, but that is not how most militaries define precise.
-2- What technology was used to make them accurate? GPS is cheap but easily interfered with. Inertial system are used in military applications, but shock proofed ring lasers are over $100,000 each. And you need more than one per missile.
-3- Where did the technology come from? Lebanon is too primitive, and Israel has blown up the missile facilities Iran has been using in Syria. Smuggling black market weapons material is very expensive. Also, shipments are periodically intercepted, so there would have been weapons parts for allied countries to track back to the source.
-4- How were they paid for? The cost would be in the billions of dollars.
-5- If Hezbollah could acquire weapons of this complexity, why did this only happen now? The timing of this announcement is incredibly ‘convenient’ for a movement that is suffering an endless string of casualties in Syria.
Fortunately it doesn’t matter whether you take him seriously or not.
Those concerned with the matter, aka those who control you country and your populace like puppets, take this man very very seriously.
if this helps you sleep at night i will not argue with you, only ask you to find one claim where the leader of Hezbollah have been caught in a direct lie about their capabilities.
I, nor any other knowledgeable observer, have never found him to lie, exaggerate or make idle threats.
His statements and their timing I think have more to do with reminding some trigger-happy decisionmakers in Tel Aviv not to invite catastrophy to the region and their own people.
A123, while I am not and do not claim to be military expert, I would like to suggest the following hypothetical thought. While many people had or still do serve in the military understand what you are asking about, therefore here it is:
Recently I read rather critical opinion about accuracy of the Chinese missiles, I am thinking about two scenarios:
1. You are sitting deep underground in reinforced concrete bunker does it matter if you get hit by precise weapon which does not have enough power to penetrate deep enough to destroy the bunker and kill all the residents?
2. You are sitting in an underground tunnel dug in a sand and explosion 50m or 100m away causes the sand to bury you alive?
3. You and your buddies are sitting in the trenches and weapon explodes 50m away but 50m above the ground and kills all of you with the shrapnel.
And so on and on.
On the other hand we have heard of home made missiles lobbed by the Palestinians that were extremely inaccurate and did no other damage except for the noise to scare the Israelis in their bunkers. Also, does it matter to you if you get hit by an inaccurate weapon, if you happen to find yourself in a place where that weapon explodes?
Lebanon is too ‘primitive’ is it? Your language gives you away, as does your agit-prop. Hezbollah suffered casualties in Syria, in a moral cause, something that Zionazis, and there ‘allied countries’ (translating from the gibberish-stooges)do not compute.
LRG and some other sorts are expensive if you want to buy them from Honeywell, sure. But less so if you take the course of making them. There are numerous State and Corporate loci capable of making these, and whatever the expense it is demanded circumstantially that the cost be born, so it shall be.
Similarly, price an X-Ray machine. I can build one for
Nasrallah once again proves he is the smartest man in the Middle East.
As for how many precision missiles he actually has, one can assume numbers in the hundreds for sure, and in the thousands as a probability. How many do you need to take out the main command centers in Israel, which is not a big country?
Iran has been making thousands of these missiles for the last 15-20 years. These missiles are not huge ICBMs like the US and Russia make. They are short range and intermediate range missiles, which is all Iran and Hezbollah need. Iran’s enemies are near to them – the US bases in Qatar and the Saudis. Hezbollah’s enemies are right across the border. So for Iran to have sent Hezbollah several hundred or even several thousand of these missiles is more than feasible.
Israeli airstrikes in Syria do limited damage to whatever they hit. They are airstrikes with a limited number of aircraft that only hit a couple targets with a couple missiles. They are not large-scale air campaigns like the US and NATO conduct. So their effect on Iran’s ability to deliver missiles or repair factories in Syria that might be hit is mostly unaffected. So we can be confident that Nasrallah is correct as to the inability of Israel to seriously disrupt the acquisition of these missiles.
I have read in a report on Hezbollah’s capabilities that they have used up most of their old multiple-barrel launch rockets in Syria during their campaign there, replacing them with more modern, longer-range missiles. Estimates of Hezbollah’s arsenal range from 50,000 to 100,000 or more rockets and missiles of various capability. It has been said that Hezbollah has the ability to rain 6,500 rockets and missiles per day for at least a month. But again, of precision missiles, by definition you don’t need many to hit major strategic targets in Israel. So if out of those 50,000, only five hundred or a thousand are precision would be quite adequate for Hezbollah’s purpose.
As for the cost, Hezbollah is not buying these missiles from Iran. They are being supplied gratis or at low cost as part of Iran’s support for Hezbollah as part of Iran’s goal to deter Israel and the US from attacking Iran.
And this has been working. Israel can not afford to attack Iran as long as Hezbollah might enter such a war on Iran’s side, with the ability to rain down hundreds of missiles on important Israeli military and civilian infrastructure. This would cause the Israeli population to be forced to sit in bomb shelters 24×7, which would devastate the Israeli economy and tick off the electorate which might then vote the ruling party out at the next election. This is Iran’s deterrent against the US because Israel will balk at starting the war until Hezbollah’s ability to do this has been degraded.
And the only way to degrade Hezbollah’s ability is for the US to assist Israel in attacking Hezbollah. This is why the US has ramped up sanctions and pressure on Lebanon over Hezbollah’s role in the government and why Israel has been making accusations about Hezbollah missiles and Hezbollah tunnels and Hezbollah’s presence in Syria. Israel needs the US to attack Hezbollah in a full-scale air campaign many times larger than what Israel can mount itself – and possible US ground troop support.
It remains to be seen whether Trump can be persuaded to authorize such a attack.
And Hezbollah has a moral aversion to deliberately targeting civilians in order to kill them, the exact opposite disposition to that of the Zionazis who thoroughly enjoy killing innocents.
The accurate guidance of a single-stage solid fuel artillery rocket in air is reasonably inexpensive. Depending on weather condition and design range accuracy may well be CAP<5 meters.( I got interested when the claim of 100 grand was made, and did a bit of reading just now). If you wish to guide while fuel is burning, ie boost phase, it's trickier, but guidance in ballistic phase is basically similar to guiding a toy glider, which it is. The missile mass changes, and the CM and the moment, during burn…after that there are very simple variables. Once the algorithm is developed for the glide-phase semi-ballistic, the software, it's essentially trivial. Boost phase is by design a brief time, a few seconds, glide phase perhaps a minute or two. Accurate arty-rocket is simpler than a model airplane. Probably about the same cost, too – eg a trivial sum in terms of ammunition these days. My estimate is <200 bucks per shot if mass produced.
These are my thinkings about missile guidance for precision strikes. There are a lot of technologies available for cheap:
– GPS
– Glonass
– Accelerometer
– Radio beacons (cell towers)
– Video
Used together they can make jamming very hard. All of them already exist in a $100 Android smartphone, which is a quite hackable beast, available in every country. So it’s pretty plausible that missile guidance relies on such hardware. Today’s consumer-grade electronics are much more powerful than military equipments that were already impressive 20 years ago. Military grade means pushing the likeliness of a failure 5 decimals to the right (and adding as many zeroes to the price tag). Hezbollah doesn’t care about a few jammed or misguided missiles.
Keep in mind that Hezbollah doesn’t meet many military standards. A massive airstrike is usually done with inert bombs dropped by bombers, because those are cheap, while missiles are kept for high-value targets. But Hezbollah has no bombers and few money so it has to invent its own weapons. Using enemy’s cell towers for guidance usually makes no sense, because they are so easy to shut down. But Hezbollah could leverage on this with a few missiles causing Israel to shut down its own cell network for months, with devastating effects on its economy.
My bet about electronics (considering other parts 100 % reliable): missile accuracy is below 50 m, success rate more than 99 %, all of that with an heavily hacked smartphone bought less than $100.

These Israeli planes fly low and hide behind the mountains separating Lebanon from Syria before releasing their missiles and fleeing back to Israel.
This means that there is no need for S-300’s or anything like that. Pantsir would do very nicely.
Alfred, I remember Russian MOD saying that Pantsir was the most effective of their Surface to Air defenses in Syria.
