Antoinetta III, You are right, the shelling of Donbass could go on a long time. The question is: What should Russia do in such a case? One thing I would suggest is for Russia to facilitate an evacuation of as many Donbass people as possible, ASAP.
One solution: Send appropriate hardware to LDPR forces to enable pinpoint destruction of the relevant Ukraine hardware.
Russia is already accused of being in Donbass. Might as well send some more hardware and trainers, just like NATO is doing on the Ukie site.
As long as the tit-for-tat shelling doesn’t rise to the level of ongoing 24-hour heavy bombardment that threatens to overwhelm the Donbass response or cause excessive casualties (casualties so far are minimal) to the civilian population or infrastructure, Russia doesn’t need to do more. And when it does, Russia has cross-border and drone options.
Try proving that a Ukie artillery battalion got wiped out by a Russian armed drone flown from the Donbass side or even cross-border. Drones are fun because they can come from any direction – even behind you, unlike artillery shells that can be tracked. They can also fly under radar (except battlefield radar) so they can’t be tracked. With the right networking, they can also pinpoint coordinates for artillery units to do counter-battery fire.
I agree that Russian “stand-off” capability will do it without setting a foot in Ukraine!
Team Brandon can simply stage a mass-casualty event in Kiev and keep the media cranked up to 11 and put the sanctions through right quick with no need to Russia to “invade.” It could, in fact, all be acted on camera. I think this is definitely one of those areas where Russia has unfortunately failed to reach the English-speaking world. There is no real way for them to get their narrative to the masses of the USA. But let’s say something is going to pop off in Kiev or elsewhere. Again, they could not thwart the snipers on Maidan, though. To me Zelensky’s statements in the last weeks (asking for proof of invasion, trying to avoid panic in the population…) do not fit into a planned immediate ukrainian invasion of LDNR. Sure there were/are the ukrainian troops placed around LDNR. But obviously the ukrainians know, that they do not have enough there (or anywhere) for conquering LDNR against Russias wishes.
I doubt this Zelensky’s statements were a maskirovka from his side, he seemed sincerely concerned.
So either he is not included in the decision making progress at all (he does not get the memos), so he in fact angrilly voiced his concernes about that, when giving these statements, which were basically an affront against the US, who are his governments puppetmasters, because he defacto accused them of lying.

Saker, I have one big question. What is your opinion on the following:
It seems to me that Russia so far has been acting strangely out of character in this entire ‘crisis’ so far. What I mean by this, is that normally Russia, beyond any other western country, is all about actual factual transparency and very open, diplomatic statements, telegraphing exactly what they intend to do and what their views are, what the possible consequences of a given situation are etc. One fondly recalls the update conferences with Igor Konashenkov in Syria with very forthright and straightforward assessments about combat situations and possible consequences of such and such circumstances.
But with the current crisis, it feels to me like Putin has been particularly ‘mum’, and there have been no strongly worded statements anywhere from Russian military command about these escalations. Now keep in mind this is not a criticism, in fact it may very well be the opposite.
But my question is this: what do you think is the reason for this? I can see a couple possibilities, for instance:
1. Putin / military top brass are not as concerned about Ukrainian tensions/escalations as the rest of the world/U.S. hysterical media and are not paying it as much attention as everyone else, and are in fact laughing most of the ongoing escalations off.
2. Or could it be the complete opposite, they are in fact taking the current developments SO seriously, and are ready to actually initiate unprecedented military options that they are keeping silent in order to protect their strategies and/or are having a series of ongoing secret emergency meetings on the matter and have not yet decided on an exact plan of action that they can communicate via some form of ‘messaging’ in the press.
It is odd that I have not heard even much ‘warnings’ from Russian leadership in terms of trying to ring the alarm bells and point European press etc to the facts on the ground, that Ukrops are currently desperately trying to instigate war. Could it be that Russian leadership has truly, finally become so disillusioned with playing the ‘games’ and trying to put on a friendly face to their European ‘partners’, that Russia no longer cares and will simply handle business however it needs to handle it when the time arises? What is going on because it seems we are on the brink of possible ‘war’ and yet Russian leadership is uncommonly quiet on it.

Is “Biden” really going to be able to pull off a false flag? Right now Ukraine is under a microscope, making a deception difficult. This may turn out to be another bizarre effort from “Biden” that makes little sense, along the lines of Blinken’s phone call to attempt to persuade China to support a U.S. rejection of Russian security proposals.
In general. I think Russia’s security ultimatum has worked out well so far. It has exposed various contradictions and problems with NATO and U.S. policy. American foreign policy is hollowed out. The foreign policy seems to have more to do with bureaucratic inertia then a sound analysis. Russia, on the other hand, seems to base its foreign policy efforts on an analysis of the interests of the various parties, so that agreements have a foundation and make sense. Washington also frequently lies, and violates treaties and international law. All of this is fertile ground for exposure. Russia can keep raising issues to expose these problems.
Right now Russia has promised a “military-technical” response, so they need to produce something, but it doesn’t need to be huge; just enough to make their words true. The exposure of the problems with the U.S. position by itself is a useful goal, whether any progress is made right now on security arrangements. The Russians can keep doing this, and that might cause enough trouble for Washington that they give up their anti-Russia policies and act more carefully.
Ukraine is under a microscope but so have been the Skripal and Navalny chemical “cases.” In both instances the western version of what happened does not hold up to even the slightest scrutiny yet it does not matter in the western public space. It’s hard to find a westerner who has not bought it hook, line and sinker. Maybe it would be somewhat different with a chemical incident in Kiev, yet “Biden” might think otherwise given how successfully both the Skripal and Navalny affairs were conducted from their perspective. The purpose of a chemical incident in Kiev might not be to provoke a Russian invasion, since that would be too difficult to fake even for them, but to force a cancellation of NS2 and/or to justify overt, large scale military deployments to Ukraine. To try and trigger a true Russian invasion, a false flag might be attempted in Russia itself, like using S-300 to shoot down an airliner in Russian airspace to the east of the Donbass. S-300 batteries now deployed close to the LOC easily have the range for that. Westerners would be told, and believe it, that the Russians themselves did it just like when MH-17 was shot down.
Attention has to be drawn also to how brittle the energy situation in Europe has become. Stores of natural gas are running very low, mountain water reservoirs in Switzerland are also running low, Germany has shut down almost all of its nuclear reactors, France has shut down several of its nuclear reactors due to unscheduled maintenance, some nuclear reactors in Sweden have been taken offline for the same reason, keeping the European energy grid running has become very difficult, requiring dozens of technical interventions per day when it used to be dozens per year perhaps, and spot prices for energy have recently been reaching stratospheric heights. Right now, almost the only thing that’s keeping Europeans from freezing to death in the dark of their homes is that it’s unusually warm for the time of the year. Gas supplies being shut down if there is a major conflagration might easily trip the situation over, maybe helped along by only a few targeted cyber attacks. It might not factor into “Biden”‘s deliberations, or they might even like the prospect, but it’s certainly something to keep in mind.
You are right that so far, in zone A, dodgy claims like the accusations over Skripal prevailed. (Although this could be hard to say; we know what the MSM thinks but what is actual public opinion?) The Russian attack or counter attack – if it is to come – may happen north of Kharkov. Russia has been offloading a huge number of main battle tanks at the railway station in Tomarovka, west of Belgorod and 27 km from the Ukrainian border. The tanks are then seen driving west along the road to Poltava. If the tanks are to take action, then the likely target is the Dnieper river, bypassing Kharkov from the west.
TicToc, or “TankToc” as it is now being called in Russia has tens of videos of the tanks leaving the Tomarovka railway station. I tried to search for Tomarovka on Google. Surprisingly the top results are about WWII. Two new books are among the top ten results. “From the Don to the Dnepr: Soviet Offensive Operations” by David M. Boy, that could have been clearer.
I was suggesting that if the Pentagon is planning a false-flag to make it **appear** that Putin invaded,
the Pentagon may initiate the false-flag immediately after the Closing Ceremony.
Exactly. The US wants to drag Russia into a war in Ukraine that would degrade Russia’s image as a permanent member of the Security Council; that would precipitate sanctions and kill NS2; and that would subordinate Western Europe to the American long war against China and Russia.
Russia can turn the table by evacuating the Donbass (to lesson the need for humanitarian intervention), insisting on Minsk 2, making diplomacy about NATO rather than Ukraine, and keeping the troops on Ukraine’s border and thus continue to freak out and embarrass the White House and US IC. If necessary Russia can use stand off weapons to prevent a defeat of the LDNR forces.
Russia could further turn the tables by taking action against NATO proper through military technical measures.
The US has no conventional power to deter Russia. It is bluffing about unity and full resolve. Russia clearly has *all the power.*
In this context we have to marvel at and appreciate how responsible Putin has been. A less thoughtful leader would have already used Russian power to smash the US and NATO and to finish off all this BS. By contrast, Putin is doing everything by law and moral code, and keeps offering the US a face saving exit. The US keeps refusing these offers and efforts, keeps engaging in false diplomacy, and thus will likely be defeated and humiliated down the road. Putin is a responsible leader for a great power and the world community.
Interesting take from Elijah Magnier, who suggests that the West’s war hysteria is the result of Russian psychological warfare, which is intended to provoke exactly that hysterical reaction, which the Russians won’t oblige by “invading Ukraine”, thereby discrediting the Western propaganda machine. Hadn’t considered that possibility before.

One should also add that unfortunately, there are many millions, particularly in the Anglosphere, who hear nothing but mind-numbing B.S. about Russia day in and day out. I wish it were otherwise, but it isn’t.
Another widely known, demonstrable “weapons of mass destruction” moment can only help open some more eyes.
well as soon as the west leaders develop a psychosis the better….so long as they are certified and do not press any important buttons before being put into straightjackets..they are going to lead a whole lot of treatment whilst locked away.

Zelensky’s Munich speech , revealing in its controversy, shows imo how things will soon develop in favor of Russia and Worlds’s peace. He spoke in russian but an english translation was available and read for non russian audience.

Lets not forget the great reset. any “attack” false flag or not will be used to raise gas oil prices some more here in the U.S. and further that agenda also. The planned “cyber pandemic” which will probably be concurrent will be used to cut internet info from Europe/Russia /Ukraine and allow further crackdown on all rights we hav left here, not to mention the planned switch to all digital money.
