Dear friends,
I recently got an interesting email about a new website: the “Watchdog Media Institute”.
http://www.watchdogmediainstitute.com/
I took a look at the site, found it very interesting, so I emailed its author and asked for a short interview. Chris is, I think, a beautiful example of what I call “the other West” – a West which not only is not Russian, but who joins the battle in defence of Russia. Because, as I have said it many times already, Russia is already at war with the AngloZionist Empire and this war is 80% informational, 15% economic and 5% military. In other words, Chris is no less a defender of Russia and a free Ukraine than a person fighting in the Novorussian armed forces.
Chris writes: “When the Odessa Massacre happened I was horrified”. This is an absolutely crucial thing: the *ability* to be horrified, to be outraged, to feel personally affected and concerned (that is what Stéphane Hessel when he wrote his famous “Indignez-vous!”). Like so many other “westerners” (-: nevermind that in this case the “West” should really be called the “far southeast down under” :-) Chris is showing that our 1% overlords have not succeeded in turning everybody into obedience, dull, zombies.
The Resistance to Empire is everywhere and, whether they realize it or not, the real (99%) “West” and Russia are on the same side: against the AngloZionist 1%er international plutocracy.
Check out Chris’ videos and maybe drop him a note, specially if you live somewhere in the “far southeast down under”.
Kind regards,
The Saker

Q&A with Chris:
The Saker: Could you please introduce yourself?
Chris: I live in Australia and my day job is actually unrelated and uninspiring factory work. I play in a couple of small rock bands here as a singer/guitarist and have a little experience with sound engineering. I like to write songs and have been saving money to record my first CD. I have been interested in geopolitics – or more accurately, outraged by the hegemony of the US – for the past 10-15 years, but until recently I had never done anything constructive with that outrage.
The Saker: Why and how did you get interested and then even involved in the Ukrainian conflict? Why would an Australian living so far away from the Ukraine have so strong feelings about the Ukrainian conflict?
Chris: I began following the Euromaidan only casually at first, and was quite ignorant about what exactly was happening. Later I was inspired by footage of people standing in front of tank columns during the early days of the “Anti-Terrorist Operation” and began paying more attention. When the Odessa Massacre happened I was horrified and began following the events religiously. Then I saw the horrible footage of the airstrike on the Lugansk administration building and the ridiculous denials from Kiev and Washington. After watching all the airstrike videos and looking at the camera locations others had found, I decided to put together a video proving it was in fact an airstrike.
The Saker: Why did you start your Watchdog Media Institute and the Roses Have Thorns videos? Who do you see as the audience for such a long and detailed video account?
Chris: Initially I only planned on making one video with a short introduction to put the airstrike into context. I began researching the conflict and collecting all the relevant footage I could find and pretty soon I realised I could cover all the events in a series. I created the Watchdog Media Institute to host this series and perhaps other work further down the road.
Given the wealth of footage that is available – particularly from camera phones – I felt this could be a unique opportunity to show people exactly what happened without needing to provide any commentary or opinions of my own. I simply collected all the raw footage, news reports and official statements and arranged them chronologically so the viewer could watch the events unfold and draw their own conclusions. The footage speaks for itself. I think the style is effective and I plan on applying it to other topics/events in the future. I made this series with a mainstream western audience in mind. People who only know of the conflict from biased news reports and talking points. I used western news clips over Russian ones where possible to avoid the “truth is Russian propaganda” charge utilised by Kiev apologists. Your readers will already have a good idea of what is happening, but for those who have been misled this can help change their minds. Here is an example of one of these videos: https://youtu.be/tuS2UD1mbt0
The Saker: Have you had some reactions from your fellow Australians? What kind of feedback are you getting?
Chris: Feedback is generally positive and people find the series an eye-opening experience. Jen Psaki and Marie Harf often get a mention for being such obvious liars. Though at this point views are still low and it’s a challenge getting people to take interest unfortunately. I get comments from other countries showing appreciation, which is nice.
The Saker: What are your plans for the future? What objectives would you hope to achieve? How can people help you?
Chris: In the near future I will be continuing Roses Have Thorns for at least a few more parts. At the moment I am finishing “Part 17 – The Attempted Siege of Donetsk II” which covers July 13 – July 17 last year. It should be available within a week. After that I will cover the MH17 crash and beyond. I am not sure exactly how further down the timeline I will go. I’d love to continue all the way up to the current day if I had the time. Eventually I’d like to branch out to other topics and formats. I plan to make other kinds of clips for summaries, news reports, trailers and even music videos. I’d like to start writing articles and possibly bring more people on board. I want to get as much important information to as many people as possible. People can help me by sharing these videos everywhere they can. This series is a weapon, I hope your readers will use it.
Very good. One more very talented (truthful) warrior in the cause.
That’s an incredible work you are doing Chris, amazing – well done.. Put some thoughts and articles of your own up too, that would be great i think, people want to identify and feel a part of what they see and read and share your vision, and all your horror and your hopes as well.
All the best Chris – keep up the good work.
Rgds,

Well done for spotting talent moving in the right direction. His description of how he got drawn into the Ukrainian conflict is exactly the same as mine, exactly. His inspiration & determination should help others, to fell a little less lonely in this confusing world of ours. I started a blog because of the events in Ukraine, dipping my toe into the blogosphere, so I will share the videos on it. It does feel like a community.

I have arrived at reading the Russophile sites by much the same path, as well. Horrified by the stories actually making the news, and infuriated by the warmongers’ drumbeating.
Let’s tune in to CNN and see what .. Russian aggression Russian aggression BRAAAK! Russian ag .. never mind. Then there was MH17, and later there was some video footage from Graham Phillips, without attribution, on a BBC piece, as the narrator said UA soldier POWs were being kept in absolutely squalid conditions by the “separatists”. I recognized the footage from a piece on the citizens of Ilovaysk, as they lived in their basements. They were civilians, not POWs, and their squalor was a direct result of UA shelling.
So I pay less attention to the “MSM” these days.
The next time you notice this, contact the organization with links to the original video and the distorted footage, and let Graham know about the misuse of his video. Same thing happened to Patrick Lancaster and he forced one of them to make a correction (sorry – can’t find link to this). See

and

I tweeted him about it, but couldn’t locate the BBC clip for reference.
They actually did call news outlets on the carpet, about a video from a canteena in a small town in the Donbass. The canteena was shelled while Phillips and PL were there filming. People were hiding under tables and cursing the Kiev regime (though I can’t understand more than a couple Russian words, the gist of it was evident, in addition to the English subs).
The ‘news’ outlets were playing the clip without sound or subtitles, and some of the less reputable of them made the direct assertion that Russians were shelling the town. The Beeb used weasel words, you know, like “shells were fired”, immediately followed by “Putin’s aggression”, but did not directly say who fired them.
Anyhow, Phillips actually protested that story. I’m not sure whether he got any meaningful response.
I have literally GAVE UP on MSM since the Ukrainian crisis started.
I could have said it myself. I felt the same about Odessa. I was very outraged too with the murder of Oles Buzina, I compare it to a doctor being killed because he/she only wanted to do good. The capacity to do evil of the Ukronazis seems to know no limits so we expect more and unfortunately even worse.

Thanks KK. When I clicked on the link from my Yandex browser it opened my google browser to the search page. When clicking on the link from the google browser nothing happened.
This is what the world needs — hard-hitting, irrefutable evidence of the horrors being perpetrated by the Nazis, organized into a format that will catch and hold people’s attention, no matter what their current opinions of the matter might be.
If enough of this kind of work is done, the lies of my government will begin to crumble. Already, and for reasons that I do not yet understand, the US House of Representatives has felt it advisable, at long last, to vote to deny arms and training to at least the Nazi elements in the junta’s military.
Thank you, Chris, for caring enough to devote the time and effort to this task, and thank you Saker for showing us how to access it.
I can assure you that members of my government will be deluged with this material, until this ongoing atrocity is ended.

I’d be interested in knowing more about this. Do you have a link?
As for the reasons, the explanation could be very simple: the House may understand that groups like the Azov Battalion are too dangerous and uncontrollable to be useful to American interests.
http://rt.com/usa/266869-conyers-azov-training-amendment/
The House of Representatives unanimously adopted amendments to the US 2016 defense budget proposal, outlawing training and arming of Ukraine’s notorious paramilitary “Azov” battalion. Russia hailed the decision as “better late than never.”
Proposed by John Conyers (D-Mich.) and Ted Yoho (R-Fla.), the amendments to HR 2685, the “Department of Defense Appropriations Act of 2015, refer to “Azov” battalion as an “openly neo-Nazi” and “fascist,” and prohibit US instructors from training or arming the controversial unit.
The amendments, intended to “protect civilians from dangers of arming and training foreign forces,” also ban US exports of shoulder-fired anti-aircraft rockets, known as MANPADS, to Iraq and Ukraine.
Thank you!
In other words, from now on the US Army has to support the AZOV battalion clandestinely, which is preferable anyway.
Very nice!! That’s loads of meticulously collected material. I really like the fact that there’s a lot of raw footage on the website.
Great to hear from the person behind “Roses have thorns”, which is such an excellent series of documentaries… you can educate yourself on so much in a single evening. I wish I could get more of my friends to watch it! A lot of people find life a lot easier not knowing this stuff, and it’s hard to deny the truth when it’s presented so coherently. It’s sad how many people think ignorance is bliss.
Chris, lovely work. Always loved them.
MH17 will be tricky. Keep in mind Kiev called it as shot down by separatists with a BUK less than 3 hours after the event, when no pieces with shrapnel holes had been found yet (and Kiev has not had access to the site, to this day). There are a few very recent interviews, too, including a new one with the ground crew who saw a Ukie SU-25 come back without its missiles, and a witness who saw an SU-25 fly up towards the Boeing and heard 3 bangs before it fell.
This story is less about what happened to the plane, more about how the narrative has been managed and twisted (eg every time one side came out with something “news” the other side would immediately come up with a new twist on their version). I’ll send you some resources which may help.
I have lot references saved on the narrative, plus the social media evidence placed on facebook by Anton Gerashchenko.
Far more telling than the physical evidence.
I had thoughts of trying to put something together with it before it disappears, but keep putting it off. Not really my thing though I am hoping somebody like Chris will do something along similar lines.
This collection was started when it was fresh. A lot easier that way, especially as things sometimes disappear.
There is a proper public page somewhere in there, but most of it is on the talk pages. Versions, witnesses, allegations, the lot.
http://acloserlookonsyria.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Talk:Crash_of_Malaysia_Airlines_flight_MH17
Before to soon you will have an information overload so you need to create a proper database to manage all the data. It can be done both on line, for maximum public exposer, and on stand alone machine for backup and security. Something like MySQL can be used as it is open source and free.
I can understand the feeling. I was horrified back in 2008 when I realized my country was still organizing proxy wars against Russia. Weren’t we all supposed to be friends once the Cold War was over? That’s what my friends said in puzzlement when I told them what was happening in Georgia. It was rather difficult at work because for the first 2 weeks I was constantly swearing under my breath and I didn’t want to bump into my boss in mid-epithet.
Sad to say, the massacre in Odessa and bombings in Donbass just underlined what I learned in 2008.
Once people become aware, or conscious, that virtually everything in the mainstream media is either disinformation or outright lies, they rarely go back to believing anything they can’t confirm from independent sources.
@ Chris,
Thank you.
Although the truth itself needs no laws whatsoever, it still needs individuals [like yourself] to protect it from the onslaught of gnawing lies and half truths, happily spread over the heads of the famous ‘grey masses,’ by an eager, $$ inspired MSM.
However, keep this in mind;
Gmail = Google
Youtube = Google
[if at all possible, dish it]
Cheers, mate.
Russia has made great gains, the West has slid into controlling and neglecting its people appallingly. Huge youth despair in EU. USA’s industrial prison camp system controls the blacks, many locked up for small things. Many just frustrated as the USA degrades them into poverty. Its the West that needs a true colour revolution. Not a fake fascist CIA Maidan affair. But one that removes Elitist greed.
Chris, what a dedicated work have you done. I had no idea of its existence so thank you to The Saker for letting us know .
Inmensely grateful for such a hug, and even being war images, beautiful work.
I´ll spread it.
God bless you!
Yes, thanks to both of you Chris and the Saker,
I watched the whole series a couple days ago. Searched all over for #17, so now I see you are still working on it. Bless you!….It was posted here on one of the Saker’s threads. Noticed that the views for the plane video has only 2014 views. YouTube is notorious for toying with the number of views.
Very possible that there were many more than that. I have downloaded the whole series to my computer. Don’t really know how to upload tho…yet
I was very depressed after watching the series..still am..Your description of how you became aware mirrors my own experience.
Big thanks
Christine

‘The Cold War never really fully melted… and now it’s back, like a frozen snowball from hell.’
Regarding the official Russian position on MH17.
When the Almaz-Antey presentation came out, the western MSM brushed it off saying Russia had been claiming that it was shot down by a plane.
I know that the military presentation showed a military plane in close vicinity, and they also had a witness saying a SU25? took off with air to air missiles and returned without them.
As far as I am aware the official position has been “what was the plane doing”.
What I am unsure about, has any Russian official in an official capacity put forward the theory or allegation that MH17 was shot down by a plane?
Nothing “official” but they did put into witness protection the ground crew who named the pilot he said came back without missiles. And just last week, when other versions were circulating again, they released this witness’s name with a short taped interview of him retelling the story. So they have not made a public allegation, they just let a witness tell his story in public.
Thanks.
Saker,
You get a lot of support on MediaLens also (medialens.org) especially in times of crisis. I am sure the two Davids would also be happy to interact.

Good work, Chris, you are a champ, mate.
Just watched that clip. Appalling civilian carnage. WAR CRIMES. Do they have air defence today?
They destroyed all the working planes Ukraine had at the time bar about two. Later they got 3 MIGs refurbished and they have about 7 or 8 helicopters somebody lent/gave them. But Putin said he will not let the people be destroyed. Privately he may have said NO AVIATION OR ELSE. They seem to have a few air defense missiles (better than BUKs) and Russia has planes next door which will certainly come up for a look the moment they see any Ukie planes take off.
I saw this posted on a Novorossian site.I translated it somewhat. He means it as an example of how the people of Donbass are being forced to accept what they abhor.
“Let’s discuss the situation:
In your home breaks armed man. It kills your children and other relatives, trashes your furniture, it takes the money, knock glass.
Suddenly there is groomed guy clothed authority who speaks your native language, and declares that “the guys, they say, let’s live together, forgive each other, well, it turned out, what do you do, do not worry.
This bandit will live in one corner of the apartment, and you – in the other. ”
You scream hysterically that do not want to live in the same house with the killer of your husband and children, but there are other aunts and uncles groomed, clothed government, speaking overseas languages, and begin to persuade you that it’s necessary, that it is better for everyone. that if you do not live in a house with a bandit, then the first guys they will take away some of the money and he would not eat breakfast pressed caviar and wearing costumes from the “Armani”.
Bandit, meanwhile, grins and shows you secretly a Kalashnikov.
You continue to scream, but no one listens to you and all together insist on …
The end is forcibly imposed by cohabitation?”
The U.S. House of Representatives has admitted an ugly truth that the U.S. mainstream media has tried to hide from the American people

Chris’ interest/indignation (for many here!) drive, output quality .. sense of fairness is appreciated. Students as well.
Related. We’re just back from Holland (30 June.) FWIW..I spoke a bit with two different ‘lead’ airline ground maintenance staff re ML17..what they knew. Both indicated ground missiles/shrapnel. “Air missiles?” “No.” Both indicated, from what they knew, who did the firing was still an open question.
Chris,
Great to see another dedicated questioner of the Western MSM. Your exposé on the air attack on Lugansk resulted from simply paying attention to a sense that the story didn’t add up. I started where you stopped: with a similar unease about the MH17 downing. Like you, I have a detailed timeline that I have worked on now for three years, since it was first posted in August 2014. I had read an article by Robert Parry, the distinguished investigative reporter who caught on to Ronald Reagan’s Iran Contra crimes too early to be recognized. Parry said that his CIA sources became suspicious of the sudden change of Obama and Kerry from categorically blaming Russia and/or Russian Separatists to sly innuendo – “Russian-made BUKs” etc…
My “three year project” started out as a report on Parry’s article and eventually consumed much of my attention, mostly on Twitter, for a long time. It became “MH17 – A Continuing Study.” If you scroll down far enough to the section called “Chronological Notes” you will see a detailed timeline of sources from November 21, 2013 when Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovich decided against the EU trade deal. It may help you if you expand your project to MH17. All I would ask for is that you recognize my contribution if it has helped. I do not apologize for my post’s bias against the official story. The other side is being presented with the aid of immense financial resources. It needs no help from me.
The evidence seems to be mounting that the attack was not simply an error committed from the ground. I am leaning now to the opinion that it was, pure and simple, a false flag, perhaps even solely air-to-air, one of the possibilities recognized from the outset. It has certainly advanced the cause of those who want regime-change in Russia. I admire Oliver Stone’s courage in producing his interviews with Vladimir Putin.
In late July 2014 I saw a CBC TV program that seemed to want to blame the “Russian Separatists” for MH17 and use pictures to bring one’s natural emotions to the fore and “close the case” in the viewer’s mind.
But that program contained a unique few minutes in which the anti-Russian CBC host asked Michael Bociurkiw, a Canadian OSCE observer (who had arrived in Ukraine coincidentally in time to visit the site while it was still smoking and stayed for more than a week) whether he had seen evidence of a missile attack. His answer was a clear “no.” In answer to her next question this Canadian, with Ukraine roots, said that he had seen evidence of very strong machine gun fire! That portion has never shown again to my knowledge but can still be seen on YouTube. Bociurkiw has never repeated what he said in that interview.
Hope this gives you a few clues that may save you some time. I admire your work and will post a link to it on my blog and in the Continuing Study’s timeline.
