Great stuff indeed; Pat Buchanan and Cynthia McKinney interviewed by Riz Khan:
Part 1
Part 2:
Small note: I had no idea Buchanan liked Palin. The thought struck me as so obscenely stupid that I almost decided not to post the first part of the interview with him. But then I still decided to post it. For all his wrongs, Buchanan is at least a real old style conservative, not the Neocon breed now running the GOP. And then, I don’t like censorship anyway – so I left both parts.
“I had no idea Buchanan liked Palin. The thought struck me as so obscenely stupid that I almost decided not to post the first part of the interview with him.”
What? This comment itself coming from you struck me as so obscenely stupid!
@anonymous: then don’t post it on your blog :-)
re buchanan and palin: palin used to be a much more paleo-conservative, apparently; then she got the nomination and was actually tutored – sat down in a room and lectured and quizzed – at the neocon american enterprise institute. i believe she openly endorsed bucahnan for president in 1996, but i’m not 100% sure of that.
@petey: yes, I believe the did. this, however, hardly qualifies her a halfway decent VP, in particular considering that the senile McCain might well croak. as for her re-training into a Neocon it just goes to show that he has no firm principles of her own. to put it succinctly:
a paleo-con willing to be turned into a neo-con is just, well, a con ;-)
oh i agree! (good pun too!) but that palin and buchanan would form a mutual admiration society isn’t too strange, viewed historically. buchanan has always been the least-libertarian of the paleos: he endorsed bush in 2004, when every other editor at american conservative magazine endorsed someone else – even nader (who actually has some very solid anti-statist planks in his platform).
